(Image made with picrew.)
Name: Aaron Ror (his name is a pun of “error”. Suggested by @soulful-rodent )
Gender: Male
Age: physically and mentally a teenager
Aaron Ror is an A.I. created by GameFreak to protect their games from piracy and cheating.
His first debut was in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. His purpose was to stop pirates and prevent hacked Pokémon from being used. He’s been in all other mainline games after that.
Unlike other NPCs, Aaron has a max party of 12. He changes his Pokémon often, but they are always level 100 and have max stats. This makes it basically impossible to beat him. If a player does happen to beat him, the game will crash and all save data will be erased.
Besides fighting against piracy, Aaron also confiscates hacked Pokémon. After confiscating a hacked Pokémon from a player, the player will be banned from online play. Aaron is known to use Pokémon he has confiscated in future battles.
Besides DJ Hallyboo and other anti piracy entities, Aaron has never met anyone outside of the Pokémon franchise.
He’s pretty cocky, but he gets really defensive when anyone asks about his eyepatch. Why? The eyepatch covers up a glitch on his face that Gamefreak was unable to fix. He’s very self conscious about it.

Not about music but growing up I always had to pirate games. Not a statement asking for pity, just a fact that happened. Sometimes I'd feel bad, but I mostly just wanted to play videogames.
One day I pirated Undertale. It became my entire identity for two years. I *loved* that game and it affected me in ways no game really has ever since. I played it over and over so many times, trying to get faster and faster (I don't know if I knew what a speedrun was), looking for secrets, finding them on my own (It should be noted I played undertale without access to the internet, I was staying at my grandparents summer house at the time). I still remember how smart I felt when I figured out how to solve the piano puzzle, or that you could sell dog residue for infinite money, or how to edit the save file to give me 999 hp to fight sans. I don't think I ever had or ever will have such an experience with a game again. It was the most memorable summer and it completely changed how I viewed videogames ever since. However I've given Toby Fox no money
Fast forward a couple years and I buy myself a Switch. It's a good console, and I was really enjoying playing the two games I bought with it (botw and metroid dread). Still, I decided to open the e-shop and see if there are any games I'd like to purchase. The second I open the front page I see it.
Undertale
I couldn't even finish a thought before I bought it. This game means so much to me, and now that I could finally buy it, pay for it, I did. I haven't touched it in years and yet I still remembered everything. It was like visiting the neighbourhood you grew up in and seeing how little everything changed. I finished it the same evening.
I don't think you're morally required to buy games you pirated once you have the money. Hell I didn't do it with every game I've pirated (if I did I would go bankrupt). But I know that just because someone can't pay for a game, or chooses not to, says nothing about whether they would support the developer or not. I didn't just do this with undertake too btw! Spiritfarer is another game that I bought *because* I loved it so much
Anyway fats forward another couple of years and I learn about the Bits and Pieces mod. It's for Desktop and I don't have money to buy Undertale on steam at the moment, so I just pirate it. At this point I already paid Mr Toby Fox (to be more precise I paid Nintendo and they gave him a cut), and had I the money to do so, I probably wouldn't have objected to buying the game on Steam. But I didn't, so I just looked up a pirated version and installed the mod on it.
I was greeted with a fucking anti piracy screen. Undertale doesn't have one. At first I assumed they just did the kind of piracy screen I have found memories of - "hey dude just tell your friends about the game if you can't buy it". I remember seeing one on my pirated copy or Terraria.
Nope. The game told me I am a greedy little fucker and should go pay Toby Fox. Like it literally says "you gotta pay Toby Fox". This wasn't added by Toby, this was added by a *mod*. It genuinely felt kinda disgusting. Of course I looked up how to go around the anti piracy screen, but it made the entire experience much more miserable. It was like coming back to the neighborhood you grew up in only to see it gentrified and fenced off
I don't know how to finish this post
fun fact: if you pirated six full length albums from your favourite band, listened to them all back to back 5 times, and then sent them $20 on ko-fi or whatever, on average they would have earned slightly more money per play than they'd get from you streaming the same shit with ads on spotify.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, It's the Early Bird Character Introduction of Pinya, A Palawan Binturong Philippine Flag.
Why did the Anti Piracy Screen Say? "Piracy is a Software Theft Would You? You're using a Pirated Copy of Pinya's Big Adventure. according to the Law, Software Theft is a Piracy which can result in Jail Time. Please buy a Genuine Copy of Pinya's Big Adventure. TURN OFF YOUR VIDEO GAME CONSOLE NOW OR I'LL CALL THE GUARDS!"
We see a Image of Pinya the Philippine Palawan Binturong Crying and she is saying "We wanted to Get Out for a Real Copy!" inside the Jail Cell.

POM POM: [former] KILLER OF MASCOT GAMES #12
Officer Stone vs Pom Pom
"Greetings.
Apologies to all for the interruption of your regularly scheduled Friday comic. I am Power Officer Stone; police officer against all things considered electronically cheating, stealing, and occasionally-bugged. Due to numerous complaints and reports, me and my team have been investigating that have led us to this very program you are currently viewing.
As of 12 weeks ago, scrapped mascot character taking the form of a young girl named... "Pom Pom"-*ahem*, has been sited on numerous occasions harassing, taunting, attacking, killing, or kidnapping other game protagonists; most being able to be considered as 'mascots' as well. It's unknown where Ms.Pom has originated from, but a few files of concept art and sprites have been recently archived, which are giving us an idea to where exactly this criminal came from. We will be following that trail as soon as we can. Though, it is not in our main interest to involve ourselves in NPC problems and complaints, we have finally decided to put an end to the endless calls by taking action. Ms.Pom was caught in the act, and has been detained as of now. Alongside the attack, Ms.Pom's appearance also somehow caused the targeted world to rain-unscripted. That last note is still unclarified.
Ms.Pom's punishment will be decided- depending on what she pleads- in court in two weeks time. Please attend or share with the following numbers if you have any more information on the current case."
THE END!!! (of volume 1.)
Previous Next
There should be a volume summary w/ links soon :)
Yep! It's the end of this volume. I think I'm going to take a break next week and then start it up after. Thank you guys for your support so far!
Character context (Pom Pom and Stone)
Pom Pom:
Pom Pom is a virus/glitch formed by the scrapped side-scrolling arcade game from the early 90's “Pom-Pom Panic”. Pom Pom (the main character of Pom Pom Panic) for whatever reason gained sentience halfway during the game’s development. The game was cancelled halfway because the publishing company thought it was too bizarre of a concept and mascot character to gain interest. Pom Pom heard of the news and took it way too personally, as she literally cannot fathom why someone would think she’s ‘bizarre’-even to the point of getting ‘axed’. Prompted by the ‘poor judgement’ Pom Pom went rouge-breaking from her game to ‘axe’ any ‘approved’ game mascots/characters she thought could count as ‘bizarre’ like her.
Power Officer Stone:
Stone is the amalgamation of a couple things, exactly what people aren't sure of, but it's safely assumed that he's a mix between scrapped virtual PSA mascots, an antivirus/piracy program, and the anti drug campaigns they used to put in arcade games. Stone is the embodiment of anti piracy screens and uses all of his time to prevent virtual crimes and viruses. He also can duplicate himself and multitask. However, because of his frustrations against the fact that he can't really punish pirates in real life, he often bounces the punishment to the closest playable character. For that, he's infamous amongst most virtual realms.
