Under readmore because this answer got a bit long xD

All the femslash ships and rarepairs I love and that only have 2-3 digit numbers in fics, if even that... I'm really into Star Trek's Milippa Prime atm (225 fics on ao3, read it all in like a week), and from TOG Andromaquynh (which while mentioned in almost 1k fics, otp:true reduces to under 300, sad that the main femslash pairing of the fandom is so small, and even sadder that otp:true is so necessary to navigate the tag because the idiot main mlm fanbase of TOG don't know how to tag their shit right or don't have the Basic decency or kindness to care to do it right), then Rita/Veridia (11 fics on ao3) from Mako Mermaids, a true pool noodle of a ship, I think @mako-and-tails-and-stuff you are running that tag mostly on your own and I love you for every single fic you write for them <3<3<3 (saw your ask btw, I'll answer it soon-ish :D thx <3), Megan/Kate from Body of Proof (18 fics), Ella/Christina from a German show, a tag I'm running alone with an abandoned-ish series of 4 fics, probably more but those are my current ship heartaches!

Also because I'm poly and Very into ot3 dynamics I wish there would be more of those fics out there... I know I also write less for them, mostly because I tend to get into writing sth via fics and fanon and not the actual canon, meaning if the otp's in my face more often I'll write for it first and take a while to warm up to the ot3 even if I'll like it more in the end! Still or maybe especially because of that wish there was more of those around... eg TOG Andronilynh (20 fics on ao3 5 of which are mine lol), Debbie/Lou/Tammy from Ocean's 8 (27 fics on ao3), Geralt/Yennefer/Jaskier from the Witcher (646 but for comparison Geraskier has over 13k)

not to hot take or be really controversial and anti or anything but i sure do think its funny how the tog fandom praises tog for being centered on the female characters and one of them being black and saying that "were it written by a white man, the movie would probably be about booker" and then literally revolving entirely and unashamedly around booker

not to be gay and constantly starved for good representation, but i truly Cannot get over the fact that. yusuf and nicolo are not only a canon gay couple, but also that no matter where exactly any viewer's fandom interests lie regarding the old guard (2020) dir. gina prince-bythewood, they'll ALWAYS be a canon gay couple. like, you want a nile-centric fic? they're a couple. booker's character study? still in love. an analysis of andy's struggles over the centuries? yusuf and nicolo continue to choose each other over and over again in the background. there's no room for antis in this fandom. no one will take joenicky away from me. no one will tell me i'm being stupid, and reading too much into things. no one's gonna make the "the content creators and actors are just queerbaiting you" argument. no one CAN make it. it's indisputable. it's canon. IT'S HEALING.

yes, that’s exactly my point! they’re just used as a prop or plot device for the other ships (which otherwise i’d be simply okish about in moderation) and people don’t even tag it properly, that’s the bare minimum and all i’m actually asking! the rest is up to me, to block certain tags, use certain functions and not follow certain people.

and that was also my point, I know you, tusk and the others do like them and the clear headed approach is necessary and more accessible, so I’m glad you guys made them because I would’ve been lying through my teeth trying to appease and eh nah, too trying. Also why I didn’t add to those amazing, excellent, spectacular, show stopping posts, I didn’t wanna be too negative while i wait for the time and energy to reply properly lol

God, that sucks, that fic is a prime example of the catalysts for my saltiness and why otp:true is always on (I’d read non exclusive if it’s recommended by some people though/if ik the author also loves andromaquynh) :/

top!joe discourse is the wildest, most surreal piece of fandom experience. every time I go to joenicky tag I mentally prepare myself to be subjected to it. it's not even "anti" stuff that I'm used to from other fandoms, it's not like I can avoid it by blocking specific tags - it's always there, this joyless, virtue-signaling woke-fest where everything and nothing is ~problematic~. I knew I quit tumblr a few years back for a reason, so thanks for reminding!

I've said it like 6 times and I don't think I could say it any clearer than, "I really don't give a fuck what other people do." My own personal opinions on the issue have negative tenth degree on anybody else's business. I asked for absolutely nobody's input on this subject and the fact that other people are getting up in arms about my (a random person on the internet that almost none of y'all know personally) opinion says more on you than on me. That post was a vent about a specific situation that I've been in now multiple times and yeah, it's my fucking blog so I'm allowed to put my thoughts on it. Sorry if you decided to interact with them instead of scrolling past it.

Sorry if you feel like my own personal frustrations with the fandom makes me an asshole. I'm allowed to engage critically with things I enjoy like every other person. It doesn't mean I hate Joe/Nicky fics. It doesn't mean I hate being in the one (1) server that's specifically dedicated to them. It doesn't mean I deserved to get banned from a server that I wanted to join which wasn't centric to them at all. Honestly, I'm in this fucking fandom because I love the story and I love the characters and I choose to engage and create for all of them because I think it's worthwhile to give the fandom some variety instead of having it be a monopoly of content.

If that makes me an anti, then so fucking be it, I guess
