FAVORITE THING ABOUT THEM: Lovable Trickster Character Archetype my beloved! Figaro has so many dimentions: he is cunning and ambitious, he is loyal and simple, he is witty and rational, he is sensitive and passionate, he is funny, he has moments of melancholic pathos. All the while never becoming exageratly complicated, he keeps being a character who is easy and accessible for the audience to follow.

LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT THEM: His crisis of jealousy against his bride Susanna in the ACT IV of Marriage of Figaro. I can’t avoid asking in my head: “Figaro, if Susanna had any intention of betraying you, do you think she would have told you and Countess Rosina about Count Almaviva’s attempts of seducing her, and build a plot to expose the Count to public shame? No, she would have kept shut up. Why are you distrussing her now”? Yes, i know the librettist Da Ponte needed something to replace the anti-nobility rant of Beaumarchais original play to avoid censorship over the opera, but couldn’t have come up with something instead of the sudden crisis of jealousy and acusing all women of being unfaithfull cliché?

UNPOPULAR OPINION: Rigoletto may be the most iconic baritone role... for people that already consider themselves opera fans. For casual viewers, if you ask to remember a famous opera sanged in a very heavy voice, they won’t think of “Cortigiani vil razza danata”. They will think in “Largo Al Factotum”, sanged by Figaro in Barber of Seville. So in pop culture, Figaro basically is not only the most iconic baritone role, but probably the most iconic male character of opera in general.

Earth girl anon again! Just curious about your headcanons in general especially surrounding the Tell Clan (that other honor child for her grandfather is such a cool idea) Also you’ve completely converted me to anti Fian, I reread the series and completely agree with you.

You know what, I want to say I’m happy I convinced you about Fian, but that makes it sound like I hate him lmao. The thing is, he’s a good character, but he’s like totally totally wrong for Jarra, you know? The more Jarra discovers about herself and about her background, the more happy she gets, but the more Fian wants to hide it from his parents, you know?

Jarra/Raven/Dalmora is the ultimate ot3.

When it comes to Earth Girl, I’m more of an au type of person, but here are a few headcanons that I have:

I mentioned this in another post, but I totally headcanon Caius as the honor child of Jarra’s other grandfather

if we’re talking about the canon verse, then I like to think that raven starts threeing with jarra and fian near the end of earth flight, when they’re staying at the Tell Clan Hall. in the book, one of them makes a joke about how if Raven wants to sleep outside their door here, he’s going to have a miserable time of it. hc that Raven DOES try it but Jarra takes one look at him, rolls her eyes, and says “don’t you think you’d be more comfortable in bed with us?”

even after jarra graduates from University Asgard, she remains lifelong friends with Lecturer Playdon. Despite not being a lot older than her, he’s a little like the father she never had. Playdon comes to respect Jarra as an equal and treats her as such. A lot of people who don’t know the history between them are surprised when they find out that Playdon used to be Jarra’s teacher, because their relationship is more like classmates rather than teacher and student.

jarra spends most of her career excavating the ruins on Fortuna. Unfortunately, because it is a planet that isn’t compatible with the Handicapped immune system, there aren’t any University Earth teams as part of the excavation...at least in the early years. so many Earth-born norm kids used to avoid medicine and history because they had internalized all the discrimination against the Handicapped that they’d seen growing up and they wanted to distance themselves from Earth culture as much as possible. but with everything that Jarra achieved, with the views on handicapped people changing, more and more Earth-born norms start going into history

This means that, maybe 5-10 years after fortuna is discovered, University Earth is able to send its first few excavation teams to Fortuna, teams made up of norm kids with Earth citizenship.

When this happens, they reach out to to Jarra, offering her a job as tag leader for Earth 1. 

by this point, Jarra has graduated from University Asgard. Amalie has gone back to Epsilon to teach at University Miranda, with her smitten husband Krath following her. Dalmora has started making history vids with her father, which Jarra is often invited to help out on. Her team has split up to go their separate ways, and even though they still keep in touch and hang out often, they haven’t excavated in a few years.

Jarra spent a few years jumping from one excavation team to another. After graduating from University Asgard’s xenoarcheology course, she spent a year with University Zeus, who were thrilled to have a nobleborn with them. Then she spent a year with Cassandra 2 when one of their tag leaders, Stephan, had to take a year off. Then she was with University Artemis

Last Time on Dragon Ball Z

She basically: deleted her old profile, started a new one, got outed by a former friend, and eventually picked her old habits back up again despite saying “I can never post in the DMC fandom again”.

Then she got mad and moved to the DMC subreddit (search low-spirited-ghost and devilmaycry in the link if you want to see those posts), and someone outed that to me on her own old profile. THEN she got banned from the subreddit, but still harasses the DMC5 devs and fans on Twitter. Now she is currently copy-pasting all her old arguments + links to people’s fan art she ranted on in some Frankenstein’s monster of a document on AO3 — the likes of which we’re all actively waiting on the Chapter 4 update of. (EDIT: she updated and OH MAN is it a doozy. Fortuna is in Florida apparently.)

It’s the “fanfiction, sort-of” section in which she rewrites DMC5 to her incredibly high standards that she’s been teasing, so both myself and others can’t wait to see this masterpiece — also, she’s locked down her comments section (because of course), so my Anons on this profile have inadvertently (??) become the place for people to voice their shock/horror/amusement, I think? Which I’m cool with — it’s all tagged for filtering purposes — but yeah.

There’s also no real issue with her showing up in my Anons anymore because of other people’s asks, either, since historically that does not tend to end too well for her. Like. At all.

In both the interest of not giving her any reason to attempt pulling her anti-Semitic victim card and another easy meal, though, my asks are open for everyone - including her.

thanks for asking! I’ve written a hefty chunk about her on this post/reblog though I guess admittedly it’s more about her concept and design in the universe of DMC and her relationships with certain characters. I’ve also answered quite a few asks about her in my designated tag if you wanna take a look there!

though uh now that you’ve asked I really haven’t sat down and done her bio, since I’ve been reworking her concept but also it slipped my mind. but basically Alexis is a bad bitch with family ties to relations with demons who got up to some big trouble in Fortuna, happened to run into Vergil and wrecked him emotionally and physically. there’s a lot of nuances to her character and concept that I’m hesitant to get into for many reasons, and I’d rather show the details in art or writing proper, when I have time!

she’s a combination of a lot of ideas I wanted to explore in the DMC lore, namely a sorcerer/summoner type of combatant (that ended up getting fulfilled by V, haha); having a more villainous/anti-hero character which I rarely make; and having fun with the idea of Nero’s mom while giving her actual substance.

I’d like to get around to showing her more, but I’m short on personal free time now. I never thought there would be this much interest in her given fandom’s usual treatment of Black women, real and fictional, so I’m glad to be asked about her this much!

Es un lenguaje muy simple y general que sirve para definir otros lenguajes que tienen que ver con el formato de los documentos. El texto en él se crea a partir de etiquetas, también llamadas tags, que permiten interconectar diversos conceptos y formatos.

 El HTTP  El http son las siglas de “Hypertext Transfer Protocol” es un protocolo de transferencia donde se utiliza un sistema mediante el cual se permite la transferencia de información entre diferentes servicios y los clientes que utilizan páginas web. Este sistema fue desarrollado por las instituciones internacionales World Wide Web Consortium y la Internet Engineering Task Force, finalizado en el año de 1999.

   Las aplicaciones y navegaciones web donde se complementa la acción del HTTP como ocurre, por ejemplo, con las denominadas ‘’cookies’’, que permiten guardar información de la sesión y la función de la que no dispone este protocolo ya que opera sin estado y requiere de la inclusión del protocolo HTTP para su correcto funcionamiento y usualmente es seguido del tópico código ‘’www’’ y luego la dirección específica del sitio web que desea visitar.

  La URL  es una sigla del idioma inglés correspondiente a Uniform Resource Locator (Localizador Uniforme de Recursos). Se trata de la secuencia de caracteres que sigue un estándar y que permite denominar recursos dentro del entorno de Internet para que puedan ser localizados.

Los documentos de texto, las fotografías y los audios, entre otros tipos de contenidos digitales, tienen un URL cuando se publican en Internet. Estos localizadores permiten crear hipervínculos (también conocidos como enlaces o links) en la World Wide Web (WWW), lo que facilita la navegación.

El URL es, por lo tanto, es el conjunto de caracteres que posibilita la asignación de una dirección exclusiva a un recurso que se encuentra disponible en el espacio virtual. En otras palabras, el URL es una dirección de Internet que, al ser encontrada y visualizada por un navegador, muestra un recurso de información al usuario.

  Todavía queda algo mas por decir y es acerca del correo electronico, algo que todos usamos actualmente, usamos alguna vez o vamos a usar. Por eso vamos a ver como comenzó todo y como esta en la actualidad. 

1971: El ingeniero informático Ray Tomlison envía el primer correo electrónico.

1976: La reina Isabel II se convierte en la primera jefa de estado en enviar un email.

1978: Se envía el primer anuncio a través de medios electrónicos en una red gubernamental y universitaria.

1982: Se utiliza por primera vez la palabra “email”.

1982: Scott Fahlman inventa el primer “emoticono”.

1989: Elwood Edward graba cuñas para AOL con los mensajes “Welcome”, “File’s done”, “Goodbye” y “You’ve got mail!”.

1997: Microsoft compra Hotmail por alrededor de 400 millones de dólares.

1998: Warnes Bros. estrena la película Tienes un email, que recauda 250 millones de dólares en taquilla.

1998: El diccionario Oxford incorpora la palabra “spam” a sus entradas.

1999: Comienza a circular un email falso en el que se asegura que Bill Gates está dispuesto a compartir su fortuna con los internautas. El mensaje es reenviado por millones de personas en todo el mundo.

2003: En un episodio de Los Simpsons, Homer revela su dirección de correo electrónico: chunkylover53@aol.com.

2003: George Bush aprueba la primera ley estadounidense para regular el envío de emails publicitarios.

2004: LOL y otros acrónimos surgidos al calor de internet son incluidos en el diccionario Oxford.

2004: La Comisión Federal de Comercio (FTC) de Estados Unidos codifica un reglamento para el correo spam.

2004: Se presentan los emails multimedia tras el congreso MMS World celebrado en Viena.

2005: Se lanza SPF, la primera tecnología que verifica la identidad del remitente.

2007: Google lanza Gmail.

2007: Se adopta el protocolo anti-phising DKIM.

2008: El candidato a la presidencia de Estados Unidos, Barack Obama, crea una base de datos con más de 13 millones de direcciones de correo electrónico.

2011: El libro de estilo de la agencia Associated Press cambia el término “e-mail” por “email”.

Reading Hunt Part 1

In (dis?)honor of huntclaire (@hsslilly-blog ) I’m reading the Thomas Hunt armour quests for the first time, and writing my thoughts as I go.

MC is Fortuna because luck, and cause O Fortuna is an epic song.

On the Hunt:

Delicious dramatic irony here. Years spent analyzing nuances of physicality and behavior? I’m already starting to like this character.

This should have been a timed choice so you could fail it. Just panic and he has to take the lead to avoid embarrassment.

I’m glad he tries to shut it down as soon as he knows it’s you. Though “I don’t respect you” is harsh. Much worse than calling you loathsome earlier that night imo.

Surprised by how much I’m on hunt’s side. A while ago I said i assumed the Hollywood U MC was a stalker, and I guess that’s not exactly what this is but like. He keeps saying no. Clearly, immediately, explicitly, no. Leave him alone!

What? No it’s not real. You don’t know anything about each other. He’s not choosing to spend time with you or enjoying your company.

Pixelberry has always been good at these little glimpses into characters.

I like how the question is slightly more personally asked each time. But also. What were you going to do if he said no? I highly doubt that would make Fortuna give up based on these past two quests alone.

I know this is a really long arc, and a lot of stuff gets headcannoned away (like knowing it was him at the mascarade). But the MC is such a massive creep! The writers are going to such lengths to make this not Hunt’s fault so being your teacher won’t be a power imbalance. But the MC is so consistantly stomping over boundaries, why should I root for them? Pixelberry, you’re trying so hard not to make him the bad guy! You didn’t have to write him as your teacher.
