Actually Castiel's declaration of love to dean has to be platonic in order to make that canonically sensible. He is not a human like us, he is something beyond that, he is a bigger entity that human who feels differently. If we think it from Cass's pov, he was a soldier assigned with some task, and in that process he met a human who make him doubt his choice, taught him how to feel, taught him the value of relationship... and the angel grew a profound bond with the human... as the time went hjs bond became more stronger.(then after a series of armour of bad decisions and bad storyline) So when he sacrificed himself to save that man he poured his heart out, expressed gratefully how much does he love him, how much he means to him... That is a feeling the angel did not have, it was dean who taught him how to feel. A celestial entity would not know the defination of different types of love, if he loves dean- he loves him completely. If they limit this love to be romantic it will actually reduce the significance. It is ridiculous how Castiel's own fans are shouting gay confession and openly gay thing.

And anyone with two brain cells who watched the show knows he didn't love Dean. The only person he thought of was himself. And probably Jack. Remember when Jack was born he completely disregarded Sam and Dean?? Even left them unconscious and vulnerable in that playground?? That's why that entire scene never made sense. He made a deal to save Jack, not Dean. Everything was about him and Jack after season 12. And all those people, the people who want cas with Dean and Sam with Eileen do??? Is reduce their characters to a ship.

Unpopular opinion - Gadreel's attempt at redeeming himself was way better than Castiel trying to redeem himself by trying to fix things in season 6 by swallowing the souls in purgatory and working with Metatron in season 8.

Also, I'm still bitter that Dean never found out Castiel let Sam out the panic room or that the angels changed the voicemail. Balthazar should've been the new angel on their side.

LMAO okay, but tell me why in 14.18, dean is out here yelling his lungs out at cas, telling him it's basically his fault that jack killed mary because he didn't tell them about jack losing his soul AND THEN -

and then literally 10 minutes later, sam is sitting there all sad like, “this is my fault, i suggested the soul spell to bring jack back—” and dean IMMEDIATELY flips the script like, "no, sammy. it’s NOT your fault. actually, take this, it’s my fault. i should’ve known, donatello told me he was dangerous. this is on me!"

and then give it another 15 minutes, and my guy is right back at being mad at cas again...

just dean winchester and his selective fault assignment. sir, please, be so serious right now. 😭

Nope, Dean never knew it was Cas who let Sam out, which is why (among several reasons) why I’ve never forgiven Cas.

It was a very sore point in the fandoms for many years and brought up a few times in conventions and the actors try to sidestep the issues since the showrunner/writers wouldn’t resolve the issue.

Did we ever ever get a scene where Dean comes to know that it was cas that let Sam out of the panic room at Bobby’s during the s4 demon blood addiction story line???

Like. I wonder if this is something that was canonically shown (been a while since I watched s4-5), implied as resolved offscreen, or just… never talked about again (like so many fucking things LOL) ???

Crowley’s development, his feelings for Dean (non-reciprocated), being a non-human learning to love humanity, being a side-character to Sam and Dean, sacrificing himself for them in the end; He was perfect. Also I’d argue he knew Dean (honestly the brothers in general) better than Cas ever did
