Anons are lying about blouies harassing that fic writer. From what I saw, many antis were also harassing fics writers. Especially because many harries believe that it’s gross how larries and other shippers write fics about a real person in a sexual way. The thing about blouies was surely spread by a harrie-larries that hates blouies.

As I said, it’s sad how people make an entire personality about some fictional sexual preferences.

Whatever the reason of that writer was, it still was poorly managed and I completely understand the chaos it created lol those fans are a painful pebble in a shoe when it comes to things like this. There isn’t a one good side, a better side. It’s just about bored and annoying people who try their best to make even a saint run out of patience (on both sides).

Mediocre storytime alert:

Before using tumblr, I used stan twitter a lot and used to have a larrie mutual that was very funny and, despite being irritated by some things she did, such as exaggerating in a strange way a part of louis' personality (like all blouies) and having harry as a favorite (which is no problem at all to have a favorite, this was just not my case), I always came back on her page because she always seemed to be very smart.

Last night I spent two hours scrolling through her page, because I was intrigued to see that she had stopped following Harry’s career and also had deleted her fic (and as I had already said, Harry seemed to be her favorite and it had only been a short time since she had gone to his show). And I found out that she had dropped Harry and created a narrative in her head that they broke up, which is also fine with me because, in fact, there is no way of knowing.

But for me it's very little about her opinions and more about the way she acts about it. For example, she always followed all of Louis' sisters and commented on everything they did/do (as if she knew them, their personalities) as a way to force a relationship between her and louis, to look intimate and thus seem that she is superior because she 'knows everything', and began to make fun of those who continued to believe that they were in a relationship. What in my head is very crazy that you base your treatment with people on opinions you have about the nuances of the life of a third person we don't know. We can have an idea about the values of our idols, we can admire his art and be happy with his victories, but the truth is that we only see him (for a long period of time) in situations in which he feels loved and important (shows, subscriptions, signings etc) and therefore, we always see the best part of him in those events. But we don't know his dynamics with others on normal days, we don't know his flaws, we don't know what happened and much less in details, so to stop following Harry for being frustrated with the expectations she created about how he should act is stupid. We don't know Louis' career goals to assume that his team is incompetent and that everyone wants to sabotage Louis (including the fans themselves by making jokes saying that they wanted less demand to get a ticket) as she does and as the radlouies do. We don't know details of Harry/Louis' relationships with the others members of the band to speak ill of the others members of the band. And it makes me sick to know that this kind of relationship can exist between an artist and a fan, and it is very sad to see this kind of thing, because it spoils a little to be in the fandom for me. Sorry if there were too many subjects in one, I was just very upset yesterday and wanted to share it with someone and I don't have many friends in the fandom with whom I can talk about it.

I’m sorry you’re feeling alone in the fandom (or were when you sent this ask). It’s really hard to lose fandom friends or realize that their values and opinions don’t align with yours.

I won’t lie - the ecosystem of fandom twitter (in particular Larrie twitter) is completely foreign to me. But I do think it’s always possible to find people you like and respect regardless of which side of the fandom you find yourself leaning towards. Sometimes those circles can just be smaller than others - and that’s okay!

As you said, fans only see a very tiny portion of Harry and Louis’ lives, and to draw sweeping and definite conclusions probably isn’t wise. I do think fans have every right to take a step back from Harry, Louis, or any other artist if the artist is no longer resonating with them. (In fact, I’d encourage fans to do that, lol.) But at that point, I think it’s best to let bygones be bygones and I also tend to unfollow when I see post after post chastising Harry, Louis, Larries, Antis, etc. after a fan changes their opinion on any of those topics.

blair & nate, i think. while nate was a pretty shitty boyfriend to blair in the early seasons, i feel like he grew quite a bit as a person thru the seasons, and he eventually did want a steady relationship/ someone to come home to. i still don't think they'd be compatible and i think it'd probably be a loveless marriage like derena most likely were, but at least it wouldn't be toxic/abusive, which i think blouis definitely would've been, despite royal perks for blair. with nate, even if there's no magic and fireworks...... they've known each other since kindergarten. they were friends for so long. neither of them would be happy, but i think it's a less miserable option. RIP

I mean there are loads of blogs on here that seem like cool people but who I don't follow cause they post lots of stuff that isn't what I personally want to have to scroll through, be it full on deal breakers or just stuff that's uninteresting to me and untagged- like there's just a whole spectrum going from eh not for me to holy shit I wish I could fucking delete that blog. But you're asking about the far end of that spectrum, so... um I guess for me: people who state their theories as facts/ don't seem to understand the difference between theories and fact. People who want to delete other peoples' blogs tbh, like who think that if someone disagrees with their theory they need to be Dealt With and Schooled, so I guess I wouldn't actually delete anyone's blogs. I just don't like cops be it the real kind or just people acting like them, like thinking some fanfic is Bad and needs to be censored, or believing that not thinking Louis and Harry are married is punishable, or insisting that their lyric analysis is CORRECT and the only possible one, or who think taking a job pretending to be someone's partner publicly is morally Wrong and they are Bad People. IDK though, I think I have distanced myself so far from the really nasty shit that I'm forgetting some bigger bad flags maybe? in any event my personal shit under the cut why not

My personal NOs are: if someone is super negative and hateful all the time, be it about someone in the 1D-sphere or other segments of fandom (I worry that I'm one of these kinds of blogs to someone but I do try not to be), or who publish anti anons spewing their gross hate and nasty theories, even if its to make fun of them: hate just depresses me, even directed at targets I also dislike. It truly lowers my mood in a way that is hard for me to shake. Likewise if someone's blog is all asks or posts with the worst takes I've ever seen, regardless of how thoughtful their counterpoints, it's just not my thing. You can be hilarious or very correct in replying, but I already had to read that shit and it genuinely depresses me to be reminded how terrible people (and their takes) can be. It's the same reason I blacklist Tr*mp and shit like that you know? So with fandom, like the news, I'll go looking sometimes to see what's being said or to track down something I see people referencing but I want to be able to scroll without being blindsided by it. But maybe what ruins your day is something different? I have pals who find anti trolls hilarious and seek them out to see what they're up to, but flat out blacklist totally different stuff that I might roll my eyes at but not really be bothered by. But also my YESes! When I come on here I know what I wanna see: 1) a bunch of pics of Louis cause he makes me happy 2) some funny takes and memes 3) the people I follow having funny or insightful commentary on new pics or whatever in their tags or telling me some bts type info, I love knowing all the details and gossip 4) intellectually stimulating but emotionally low stakes discourse that doesn't involve anyone spewing hate at anyone else 5) enough UA type content to know what everyone is up to 6) enough clues about what's going on with the fandom or in the non-UA type updates (like, what did people figure out from that official post) to figure out if I wanna go find the drama and roll my eyes or comment. So that's what I look for!

I do get why a majority of the het harries/antis are just gross and make harry uncomfortable so it bothers me, but i don't get that larries sometimes get on the same level with gay jokes so is the difference because we wouldn't say it to them or on a sign out of respect or what do you think? How do we draw the line better than them, is there a 'better'

like blouies cross that all the time so het harries aren't the only ones, dont get me wrong. larries are guilty of this too! but i think a lot bigger portion of us know the lines we should not cross. we have fandom space and then we have spaces we share with the people we are fans of. i never want to bring stuff explicitly from fandom spaces into the space of the artist! like i joke about louis being daddy and stuff but i would never bring a sign to a concert calling him that. this is the same reason why one should never ever ever send fanfics to the subject or their family members. it all comes from the same sort of philosophy about fandom spaces being for fans solely. the distinction is important!

but i also believe there is a secondary dynamic at play with harry and his fans in particular because of the way he was portrayed and overly sexualized from a very young age. that adds a whole other problematic aspect which leads to the issues i have with how het harries talk about harry and thereafter push het fantasies onto him (not to mention the way that his team has been encouraging this since fine line's promo).

not to say that she hadn't been in love before, or the other people she'd been with didn't love her but there were always these external things that were causing strife for her partners, and even if she knew that it wasn't about her, she'd have had to internalize that, at least a little.

nate in s1 & 2 was dealing with some shit. like some difficult, hard to untangle, adult shit, and he carried a lot of discontent within him for that, and I think that's why blair and nate's dynamic at the onset of the show was her being very much like, "you're not happy, and I don't know why, but I really want to fix it" her methods, of course, the brunches, the scavenger hunts, the plans to have sex, are not what he needs, but they all tie back to her need to Fix It.

and chuck...he's never satisfied, I don't want to get into All of It, but the most telling moment is That Episode (3x17) when he says something to the effect of "you are not enough" i.e., he's lost his hotel, and he can never be happy without it. he always needs something Beyond, that blair can never seem to give him.

louis on the surface comes close, until he doesn’t. like the sweetest moments of him (when blair tells him about her pregnancy, when he says to serena "can you believe it? she's marrying me!") that's all undercut by the way he behaves in the rest of the relationship (again, not getting into the All of That rn), he is always setting her up as the one needing to prove herself in the relationship, and in 5a he turns so unhappy, and blair cannot find a way to untangle it.

But dan??? I just want to spend the day with you dan? I was hoping I could have a sleepover with you dan? It's you. It couldn't be awful dan? dan, who when blair asked him tell me what would make you happy kissed her? kissed her like she was the answer? because what would make him happy was her?

I don't think she ever had that before, that simplicity of accomplishment of just knowing that she made someone happy by being with them, by wanting them, by choosing them. and the way she talks in 5x09, she probably was walking around feeling...cursed, like she was doomed to always let the people she loved down, and I have to think that in That Moment at the end of 5x17, when she shows up at the loft and dan blinks himself back to life at the realization that she wants him, I have to think maybe that gave her a little bit of faith back.
