Reader couldn’t help but giggle a little, her cheeks felt all flushed and warm. Getting into Anthony’s room was a bit of a task. Scaling the LaRusso house and getting up to the roof could be pretty, hard especially at night. There was barely any light other then from the windows.

But sneaking out late at night was the only way for her and Anthony could meet up that week.

Between her father and Anthony’s parents it was hard to meet up in person or face time. Their secret texting only got them so far. The urge to see each other was constant. The only time they got to see each other was at school or when they got to glaze at each other from afar at the dojo. On the rare occasion they meet up for secret dates around town.

It didn’t help that their siblings where also constantly on them. Both Robby and Sam would periodically check in on them. Better known as snoop around to keep a eye on the two of them. The teens knew that their older siblings would sneak into their rooms and look around time to time. So far after months of dating in secret, neither of them seemed to have found out about the secret relationship.

Anthony rolled his eyes as he helped pull his girlfriend in into his room from his bedroom window. He couldn’t help the small smirk that pulled on his lips as she finally climbed all the way in. He helped her stand up and shut his window again. He whispered out “You really have to stop doing that. One day Sam or my parents are going to hear you.” Reader groaned as she flopped onto his soft bed. Her eyes looking over at him as he just sighed and sat down next to her

There was a long pause as they just sat on the bed together thinking. They both had such a hard time keeping the relationship they had a secret, especially for so long. It was madness trying to keep it hidden away from everyone to see.

But it always came down to one simple thing that caused them to not want to come out about their romantic feelings towards each other.

Reader was a Lawrence.

Anthony was a LaRusso.

It was a ticking time bomb waiting to explode if they where to tell everyone they where dating.

“I wish we didn’t have to do all this, sneaking around and stuff. I thought sneaking around was supposed to be fun and exhilarating. He had never seen Reader Lawrence on the verge of crying. It made his stomach flip and his heart hurt. His usually strong headed tough girlfriend has tears welling in her eyes. Her hand slowly moved to grasp his. Her soft lips kissing his fingertips.

“I want to be able to hold my girlfriends hand in public. I want to be able to throw a arm over her when I’m sitting during a break at training. I want to kiss her in front of everyone when ever I want to.” He felt this chest start to tighten just a little “Just give me a little more time to think of a way to tell them ok? Please.” Reader clenched her eyes shut trying to magically suck up her tears. He didn’t let her do that for long as he whipped them away with his thumb. She gave a soft smile before pulling him closer.

Their lips meet in a sweet and soft kiss. It was simple and passionate. Light and airy almost. His thumb rubbed over her soft cheek, her hand laced gently though his dark curls. Lips moving together in a sweet rhythm. They where fully embraced into each other.

They didn’t even hear the door to Anthony’s room open.

All they heard was the loud gasp that had them separating in a split second. Eyes going wide as they stared at the open door.

Sam LaRusso stud in the door way with a shocked expression, mouth open and eyes wide as she looked at the two teens. What ever words they had in their minds where lost on their tongues. Both of them in complete shock of being caught by the boys older sister.

“Anthony!! Mom! Dad!”

Anthony didn’t even have time to shove Reader off of his lap by the time his parents showed up.

With a unexpected newcomer.

“Dad why are you here!!”

“You don’t get to ask that! Why the hell are you here Reader?! Your supposed to be at the apartment with Robby!”

Johnny yelled as he pushed past Daniel and Amanda. Reader shoot up and pushed herself away from Anthony on the bed. She was quick to try and lock her knee’s together to look more prepared. Taking a deep breath she looked up at her dad who was basically fuming now. His blue eyes digging holes into hers. Looking like he was about not snap.

Daniel doesn’t look as mad but Amanda is close to the same point as Johnny. Daniel has a eyebrow raised and Amanda is tapping her foot, Sam is still a bit in shock at what she just found going on in Anthony’s room.

“We have been gone for less then two hours and you decided to sneak in a girl- Reader at that.” Daniel says in a questioning tone. Amanda looks at her son in a box of anger and sadness. Clearly seeing what was about to go down now that the two teens had been caught.

Johnny whips back around and points a finger at Daniel and then to Anthony ��Hey that’s my kid! I bet your mcjunior son tricked my daughter into coming here. Trying to pick a fight? Reader did he do anything to you?! Did that little prick put a hand on you!”

“Dad no stop!”

“That’s definitely not what was happening when I walked in.” Sam snorted making everyone look at her. She put her hands up In defense.

“Anthony what where you two doing in here when Sam walked in.” Amanda said with her arms crossed.

“I was… I was kissing my girlfriend when Sam walked in.” Anthony exclaims as he looks up to his mom with a small frown.  He really didn’t expect to be telling his parents about this tonight.  he thought that they could get away with it for just a little while longer. Clearly they couldn’t with the turn of events. 

Reader quickly takes his hand in hers and gives it a soft squeeze. Looking over he finds her smiling over at him, relief starts to flood over him. Maybe this wasn’t the worst timing after all. 

They both look up to their parents.

“Sam did you know about this??”

“I had no idea! And I admit to going though his stuff before and I didn’t find anything. I can’t believe he’s even dating anyone in the first place.”

Johnny is pacing the room at this point as he try’s to cope with the new information. He scratches at the back of his head “How long has this been going on? Does Robby know about this?” Reader sighs saying “ We’ve been going out for a few months now, and from my knowledge, Robby has no idea about us going out together. We didn’t want anybody to know in the first place because of this exact reaction.” She huffs at her father.

The room was silent after that for a while.

No one dare make a sound.

“Are you guys actually that made over this? That I’m dating a Lawrence?”

Amanda was the first one to reply back, quickly sitting next to Anthony. She took his free and hand patted it in hers.

“You really thought we would be upset just because your dating Johnny’s daughter? Is that why you two where hiding?”

Reader nods “We thought all of you would be upset about us dating each other because of what happened after Robby and Sam where together. Half of the time you guys couldn’t stand be near each other when the topic came up. We thought it would be the same with us so we just kept it a secret.”

Johnny groaned as he sat down next to his daughter.

“Maybe I’m a little pissed that your dating a LaRusso but still, you shouldn’t have felt like that. I just want to know your safe. If dating a shitty LaRusso makes you happy then so be it.” He tries his best in his own way to comfort his daughter. He puts a hand on the back of her head and gives her a quick kiss to the temple before pulling away. He ruffles her hair, she tears up a little as she goes and hugs her dad.

“It’s ok…I’m not mad.” He rubs her back harshly for a few seconds.

“Sam you suck by the way.”

“What!? What did I do!?”

The rest of the night was filled with chaos as they talked everything out.

The whole time Reader and Anthony held each others hands.

Eli "Hawk" Moskowitz - he's the type who really appreciates sour candy and if you don't like it he's willing to share his dark chocolate with you. he wasn't raised eating candy, so you two would share a slice of fruit like: watermelon, apple, orange, or whatever kind he has in his pantry the moment. you actually started his love of chocolate (he would never admit this to your face but he would tell Demetri and Anthony) after telling him to get you some during your period since it helped you with the cramps, even though he retorted with a banana when you asked for the chocolate.

Anthony LaRusso - he would get the little variety packs like Kit Kats, Buenos, or anything chocolate related. he's not a big fan of regular-sized or larger chocolate (like King-size Hershey bars), since it now makes him uncomfortable to eat so much chocolate again. he would unwrap it and feed it to you instead of allowing you to make it yourself, although he would only allow you to take a couple of pieces of chocolate before hiding it in his room. he got better at hiding candy because you were sneaking around while he was trying to hide it once.

Samantha "Sam" LaRusso - similarly to Eli, she would rather eat fruit than real candy, but she sometimes eats real candy and it normally comes from Italy instead of here, America. she's not a fan of chewy or gummy candy, so the cappuccino candy she likes comes as a hard candy to make it last longer, plus she says it's better than the coffee you might get at a coffee shop. you're on the fence about that. it's not your favorite thing while it's hers and you offered her yours to see if she would like it and that is to be determined…

Tory Nichols - she's used to sharing a lot of things especially with her brother (Brandon) because that's all she knows, so it's no surprise when she offers you pieces of her chocolate. she's more on the bitter side of things like something rich—an espresso or a cappuccino if you will for her chocolate, although there are rare times when she would eat Sour Patch Kids or Jolly Ranchers (blue raspberry and watermelon are her favorite flavorus).

There's barely any conversation about whether they will tell Reader's family, just going with the motions of transitioning out of high school and into the real world. ○ Their little relationship is a lot of Reader coming up to Tory's job just to see her. She left the house telling her parents that she was going to see some friends, have an adventure before college starts in autumn, but really she's sneaking away to go see Tory, who flirts with her relentlessly the whole time she's there. At first, she wanted to act like Reader was too much of a distraction and be mad about it, but couldn't hold up that front for long.

She eases into the idea; she asks if Reader's been to any parties and if she's met anybody and Reader tells her no and of course not. Answers like that make Sam confused and suspicious. However, she doesn't accuse her of lying and just suggests that she take a pregnancy test.

○ She holds Reader as they wait for the test to come back and when they see that it's positive, Sam has to ask her why she's lying about seeing someone. Reader doesn't want to answer, but that just makes her sister even more worried.

"If you just hooked up with someone, that's okay," she tells Reader, holding her worried and sweet sister. She tries to keep her calm, but in reality, Sam is the one close to freaking out. "You just have to tell me what happened."

"No offense, Sam, but it's none of your business right now," Reader tells her, wanting nothing more than Tory there with her in this moment.

○ They spend the weekend finding a good doctor nearby and Monday confirming the pregnancy at a little doctor's office. Sam assures Reader the entire time that she has options, but Reader isn't listening. She's just going over what she's going to tell her girlfriend - hardworking, unstoppable Tory. Sure, Tory's breeding kink is prevalent in their sex lives, but is it just a kink? She knows they'd have to talk about it, but Sam will have to be gone before that can happen.

○ Before Sam finally leaves, Reader makes her swear not to tell their parents and Sam tells her that she won't. Then, like the wind, she's gone and Reader can only hope Sam keeps her mouth shut.

○ She's not that shy little girl she once was. She's a full fledged college student now, so she didn't need her sister or parents nosing around in her personal life all the time. On top of that, though she is an adult, she's still young and worried about what her parents are going to think. It's a lot of complex layers that amount to a lot of weight on her shoulders.

○ The next weekend Tory comes to see her, she sits her down immediately because she's too nervous to even try to act like nothing's up. She keeps it simple and short:

"I'm pregnant," Reader says. She started off by looking at Tory, but quickly looks down at her lap and pulls out the pregnancy test. She hands it over before Tory can get a word out and doesn't say anything else.

Tory takes the test and looks at it, kind of stunned. However, that is quickly overpowered by the immense sense of pride she feels over it. Her breeding kink is blazing and everything is just telling her how great this is. So she puts the test aside and lifts Reader's head to make her look up at her.

○ When they pull up to the LaRusso house, everyone sees the car but is too busy to notice that it isn't Reader's car. Sam comes to the door to greet her sister, intercepting since she's the only one who know's Reader is pregnant, but before she can greet her she's shocked by Tory's presence.

"Reader, what is she doing here?" Sam asks, as if Tory isn't standing right there.

Reader gives a little smile and holds up her and Tory's joined hands. "She's my girlfriend, Sam... and the mother of my child."

Sam is frozen in the doorway, to the point Amanda has to come out see what's going on.

"Sam, is everything okay?" she asks, but is quickly made speechless what she sees her other daughter at the door with Sam's rival and a hand on her belly. All she can let out is an, "Oh my."

○ Amanda regains her self faster than Sam and invites the couple in, telling Reader that they can go get settled upstairs. They scurry off, Tory trying not to laugh as they escape to Reader's old room before her father can see them. Tory drops Reader's bag and they sit on the bed. Tory has to pepper Reader's face with kisses to calm her nerves, rubbing her belly soon after. She knows Reader has been worries about what her family will think.

○ There's a knock at the door and Anthony pokes his head on. When he sees them fussing over Reader's belly, he says, "Damn, I thought Sam would be the one knocked up in college."

"Anthony!" Reader seethes, embarrassed by his words. Tory just laughs at him. "What are you doing here?"

"I live here. Plus, I heard mom and Sam whispering to each other and had to come see if what they were talking about was true." Anthony walks in like he owns the place, shutting the door for some privacy at least. It still makes Reader roll her eyes because he's still the same as ever. He looks between them and asks, "So did you two have a threesome or something?"

Tory doesn't shy away from giving him the answer. "No, I fucked your sister with my big dick."

"Ha ha," he lets out humorlessly, but when he sees the cocky look on Tory's face, he deadpans. "Wait, you have a dick?"

○ When it's time to walk downstairs, Tory holds Reader's hand the whole time. They first go to Amanda and Sam, explaining some of their relationship and how Reader got that pretty little bump. They don't give them all the details of course, glossing over the parts where Tory used to bully Reader. Sam hasn't forgotten those days and wants to say something about it, but their mom stops her from bringing it up.

○ Then Daniel walks in and he greets Tory, trying not to be so put off by her presence. He got some of the details from his wife, so he's just trying to act civil since Sam is spiraling. However, all that goes out the window when he hugs Reader and feels the new bump protruding from her abdomen. He pulls away, holding her shoulders, and looks at her with a "please tell me that's not what I think it is" look and she just smiles at him.

"Surprise," she says, a little weary.

○ Daniel almost faints, but manages to stay upright as he starts barreling questions at his daughter and her girlfriend. It's a little overwhelming, but when he asks "how did this even happen?" Anthony walks by and nonchalantly says, "Tory's cock, obviously."

○ Meltdown mode activated. Not because Tory has a cock, but because Daniel never needed to know that. Daniel would have lived blissfully if he never knew his daughter was having sex with anyone. Amanda has to walk him out of the room and tell him to calm down because he's only going to stress out their pregnant daughter.

○ While they're out of the room, Reader gets held by Tory, who tells her that went a lot better than she expected. She kisses Reader's head and keeps her nerves at bay, ignoring everyone else in the room. Sam bares witness to the seemingly 180 shift that's been made, seeing Tory be so gentle with her sister as opposed to the rough and mean treatment that occurred before. She's suddenly not so opposed to the idea of Tory and her sister after all.

○ But neither Reader or Tory care what's going on around them. They have each other and that's enough for them. Tory's taken care of herself more often than not and the last few months, she's been taking care of Reader and their growing little one in her belly, so she's not worried about getting support from anywhere else.

○ However, it's a warm welcome when Reader's parents come back in to tell them that they're happy for them. They still need to get used to the fact that their daughter is even dating anyone, let alone pregnant. But after most of the shock wears off, they know they're getting a two new additions to their family and that's something worth celebrating for the holidays.

I can't see her as any specific type of bender I was torn mostly between air and earth, I see Amanda as an earth bender and Daniel as an airbender but I just don't see Sam as a bender

Yasmine and Moon were secretly messing around behind the scenes in S1 and had a "friends with benefits" type thing going on

They both caught feelings, but Moon wanted to publicly be girlfriends while Yasmine was terrified of ruining her rep (hence why Moon was the one who felt comfortable enough in her sexuality to openly date Piper later)

Yasmine and Piper are both lesbians, but Piper is very openly out while Yasmine is very very deep in the closet.

Moon is genderfluid, but only ever came out to Piper (why Piper made a big deal of Johnny being genderfluid-inclusive!). She'd maybe come out to Sam, Yasmine, and Demetri later but it's not a sure thing. I don't think she'd feel comfortable telling Eli, even post redemption arc.

Tory and Robby are bi4bi. They're both vaguely aware they're bisexual, but it's not something they've every really had the time or drive to explore.

If Tory hadn't already been crushing on Robby, she really might have gone for it when Piper shot her shot.

Demetri has been in love with Eli since they were kids. He full on knows this, he just believes he has no chance and also is slightly terrified Eli will abandon him if he knows Demetri's gay.

Terry Silver basically has the same thing with John Kreese. He's loved him forever but frantically frantically hides it.

Every adult on the show (save Terry, who I think is just flat out gay) is ragingly bisexual.

I don't ship it personally, but Terry was/is definitely into Daniel as well. It IS very funny to me that he gets rid of one gay crush at the end of S4 because he's a "distraction" and then spends all of S5 obsessing over a different gay crush. Like nice going you ponytail loser, you failed to solve the problem at all!

Eli is also in love with Demetri (and probably has been since like middle school) but has MUCH less self awareness about it than Demetri.

Both Eli and Demetri are repressing their feelings to kingdom come. I'd say S5 is the earliest they could've figured it out, but here we still are ;____;

Demetri, Eli, Moon, and Yasmine are the quintessential example of a "queers finding and vibing with each other before they realize they're all queer" friend group. Unfortunately, Eli, Demetri, and Yas are all repressing their queerness incredibly hard, and Moon is the only one of the four actually comfortable in her identity and sexuality.

Demetri and Yasmine started out being in utter denial they were each other's beards. However, after about a month of attempted dating and still not being able to straighten themselves out (heh heh), they talk about it and end up coming out to each other. They decide to continue presenting as a het couple to keep up appearances, mainly because neither thinks they can afford any potential damage to their rep that being openly gay might deal. Yasmine's rep is in shambles after the wedgie, so she really can't afford it. Demetri's rep is improving, but he's still not popular enough not to potentially suffer ridicule if he were to get outed.

Yasmine has homophobic parents, which also contributes to her staying in the closet. Part of the reason she flew all the way back for prom was because her dad was giving her a hard time about how little she'd dated in high school, and she wanted to prove a point.

Yasmine also has an older sister named Rosalie who is an influencer of some kind. Yasmine and Rosalie are pretty close, but there's a bit of underlying resentment from Yas's side because Rosalie has always been The Favorite. I think this motivates a lot of her S1 bullying--she's desperate for some kind of attention from her classmates, even if it's negative. She doesn't want to live in her cooler, more beautiful sister's shadow.

Moon never lost any popularity to begin with and also has a very easygoing and accepting hippie family, which is part of why she was never worried about being openly bisexual.

Yasmine and Demetri are extremely close platonically. When Eli finally gets upgraded to the role of Demetri's boyfriend, Yasmine and Miguel are basically tied for Demetri's platonic best friend. The rest of the dojo kids find this really funny because of how different Yas and Miguel are.

Kenny and Anthony are both bisexual.

Anthony has a planet-sized crush on Kenny and absolutely no idea what to do with it.

Kenny is probably also into Anthony but processes it like 10x more unhealthily.

Demetri and Eli claim they "don't want kids" but have a bad habit of adopting the younger dojo members as their sons. They're now the proud gay dads of Bert, Nate, and Anthony. Kenny is probably next tbh.

Kyler has been bullying Demetri and Eli since elementary school. Demetri used to try and stand up to Kyler and other bullies to defend Eli, but he always just got his ass beat and his stuff trashed. The teachers were pretty useless in helping. By the time high school rolls around, Demetri has fully given up.

Demetri and Eli probably both had a crush on Miguel at some point (specifically when he beat Kyler's ass in the cafeteria). I feel like if you went to West Valley High it would be difficult not to get a crush on Miguel tbh.

Eli's first mohawk color was blue in part because Demetri's favorite color is blue (it's the color he most consistently wears!) and he was trying to help Demetri be more comfortable with him "flipping the script." It actually somewhat worked for a while, although Demetri was still weirded out and kind of concerned about the apparent personality change.

He also 100% dyed his mohawk to match Demetri's hoodie in S5.

Demetri and Eli are both Jewish. Demetri's family is ethnically Jewish but non-practicing for the most part. They participate in the occasional holiday celebration but aren't super committed. Eli's family is practicing and goes to synagogue more regularly.

They both had a bar mitzvah. Their first kiss was after the latter of the bar mitzvahs with the logic "well we're both men now, and grown-ups do things like kissing, so I guess we'd better do that! And it's not like any girls will ever want to kiss us anyways, psh."

Demetri has a single mom who's on the overprotective side, but also does not mince words. She and Demetri's dad were like the older generation equivalent of Demetri and Yasmine, except if they didn't realize they were both gay until well into adulthood. Demetri's dad left when he was little, and now Demetri's mom is openly lesbian and frequently brings new women home.

Daniel, Amanda, Carmen, and Johnny (possibly Chozen and Ali as well) all want to be in a polycule, but none quite have the courage to admit this. Maybe give it 10 years and they'll finally come to terms with it XD

I have some slightly more explicit ones as well, but I'm holding off on that for now in case OP isn't comfortable with it ^^;

Anthony Secretly Dating Bert’s Cousin!Chubby!Reader

(Unedited) (These are really random, still trying to figure out this little plot)

•Its a secret to everyone but Hawk and his girlfriend who know from the very start. Anthony basically begs the two of them not to tell anyone, especially Sam and Bert. They both think it’s kinda cute like some kind of forbidden love thing so they of course say yes. This doesn’t stop them from giggling about it when the two are in the same room together.

•It took weeks of Anthony talking to Reader to get her to open up to him. It took over four months for her to even agree to date him even if it was in secret. She was extremely shy and closed off to just about everyone including Anthony for a while.

•He was shocked that she was living with Bert and his parents. He found out that her parents where slowly moving to the area but wants her to get into school at the beginning of the year instead of having to completely transfer mid year. This put him on edge when they started to sneak around and date because he constantly had to worry about Bert catching them.

•They go on a lot of dates to run down arcades, ones they know their friends don't go to. It's Anthony’s favorite date location. Sometimes they go to seedy dinners for lunch dates, but they have to be careful because they almost got caught by Johnny who just happened to show up one day when they were out at lunch.

•Anthony feels bad that they have to hide their relationship. While Reader is just to nervous and shy to actually tell anyone, Anthony is afraid his family and people at the dojo might target the two of them. Both of them have their own reasons for being the “butt of everyone's joke” and they don't want to increase the odds of being made fun of. Anthony can't stomach the idea that Reader gets made fun of for dating a “nerdy loser” along with Sam poking fun at them. He also feels like Sam kinda ruined the idea of dating with their parents. Reader is shy but also is just scared to tell Bert, because she doesn't want to make it weird that she's dating one of sensei’s kids. Plus she looks up to Bert.

•Anthony almost broke his foot trying to climb up to Reader’s window. He almost got caught by Bert who just so happened to be passing one of the windows. His ankle was bruised for a week and he had to make a a lie to his parents about how he got it. Reader felt bad about the whole thing, but she kissed it better which he feels like makes it all worth it.

•They kiss a lot in private. When no one is around and they feel safe enough, they have full on make out session’s. Luckily they haven’t been caught around school or when they go out. Both of them are to scared to even try kissing when at the dojo together.

•Reader try’s to make excuses to show up at the dojo when she knows Anthony will be there. She makes up a huge story about wanting to watch Bert train. Really she just shows up to see Anthony from a distance. Even if they can’t talk to each other they still love to be in each other’s presence’s. Reader always try’s to send him a smile when he looks her way and he always try’s to wink at her from afar. Sam has almost caught them a few times.

•Johnny is the only one who suspects that Anthony might be dating someone. He takes notice about how less “pissy” he is and how he’s always sneaking off every now and then during class. Daniel just thinks he’s over reacting and “there is no way Anthony is seeing anyone, I would definitely know if he was.” Johnny just rolls his eyes as he looks back at Anthony.

•Bert is super suspicious after his cousin moves in with his family because she starts acting different. While she is usually just shy, she’s now more secretive and skittish around him. For a while he thinks he did something wrong. But he starts noticing how she is a bit more open when she comes to see him at the dojo and he even swears to have seen her blush a bit. He has no idea why but he shakes it off until he can figure out what’s really going on with her.

Samantha LaRusso Academic Future (1/2)

This is based on my headcanons and interpretation. We have barely anything from canon and I'm upset with the way they're handling it. Sam is acting way too calm, way too detached. This is how I imagine things. My fic, if you will.

In her senior year, Sam's messy High School history is catching up with her. She's suddenly highly aware of the damage to her records and feels upset with herself. At first, she's just angry, but the more it lingers, her concerns create deeper roots, pushing that anger into rebellious guilt and then finally into resentful disappointment. Before it all started she was a good student, with impressive grades, academic aspirations. Now she's scared she won't even be accepted at UCLA.

Sam isn't sure she wants to go to UCLA. Her parents want her around for her to inherit the shop. Sam is fine staying close to her parents. Though it used to bother her, she'd become more understanding of their reasons and of her comfortable situation. Having parents to feed and clean for her while studying would be an enormous help, depending on what she wanted to tackle, that might be essential, so she made her peace with it.

The dealership is something else altogether, she doesn't want it. She can't see herself as a businesswoman, she doubts she has the type of thick skin or the social and political cleverness to endure that. Or perhaps she just couldn't care less. Anthony wouldn't want the shop either and that would be a problem for the family in the future, but Sam disagrees she should sacrifice herself for it. The shop would be fine, with or without a LaRusso leading it.

She hasn't revealed that to her parents yet, mainly because she hasn't come up with good enough reasons or options she's truly willing to tackle. There has been so much karate in her life, that karate became everything that could be in her life.

It's almost surreal to face a future in which karate becomes a simple hobby, her brain tries and tries, but it can't make out what's beyond the fog. Miyagi Do and Cobra Kai are always there, like an obsessive thought scorched on her mind. She needs time to carve it out of her. Clean the slate.

She decides to take time away from everything. Allowing herself to be so far from where she was that it would show her the bigger picture and the rest of the world around.

She researches living in Japan before breaking the news to her parents. She found a position for beach cleaning and some pretty nice small houses she could rent. She then tells her parents who are surprised if not a bit worried by her desire to "run away". They need some days before agreeing to let her go with the condition she's staying with Kumiko and will obey her every advice.

Sam is more than excited with the idea and agrees immediately.

When school ends she leaves for Okinawa, gets received by Kumiko who helps her to settle in. The house isn't big, but it is close to the beach and is cozy. There's an old lady living there too, the woman is a bit wary of the foreigner girl but slowly warms to her. Sam helps around and follows Kumiko to almost all errands when she's out of work.

The drastic change in pace hits Sam hard. She's exhausted and joyful. Then she gets into rhythm and becomes calm and peaceful. She gets to research other careers, discuss with other local teenagers their own ideas and plans, attend career fairs and talk to her friends who went directly to College about their perspective.

She returns to the US after exactly one year with a decision and peace of mind.
