(Predestination) If there is a theology I deeply, deeply and genuinely despise to my very core, is predestination. It goes against everything I genuinely believe, the possibility of change, redemption, and choice.

I cannot believe it was the official religion of many countries. The doctrine of "some people are just born to go to hell no matter what you do". If you ask me about one theological belief I genuinely hate, it's this.

Can you see Azula develop an interest in Sokka after Ty Lee was all into him since The Chase and would not stop talking about the cute watertribe boy, only for Azula to really get interested (and hiding it) once she realizes that he´s the plan guy and now he´s more than just a pretty face?

No, I don't see it, I don't even see Ty Lee talking about Sokka much, especially not to Azula, even if she wanted to.

Azula cares about her family, her nation, their ideals and her status as a Princess, having any interest in someone from another nation is anthetical to all of this and thus wouldn't even cross her mind on a deep level.

Remember, even for the Dai Li, her highest praise was 'They are bloodthirsty, almost like firebenders!' and she still didn't hesitate to turning their homeland into ash.

And as an enforcer of said ideals, she'd bring down the hammer hard on any hint of genuine interest from a fire nation citizen like Ty Lee too. Ty Lee making an off-hand comment about cuteness is about as much as she'll accept and even then, it's because she knows Ty Lee's bubbly bimbo facade.

Also Azula doesn't exactly like having competition, especially not when it come to intelectual matters, just look at how she treated Long Feng and her idea of victory is the utter destruction of the enemy in a way they can never recover from so it's not like she'd develop a begrudging respect or anything for Sokka just because 'he's the plan guy'.

Hell, you could make an argument that were it not for Azula's perfectionism, she wouldn't even know any of the Gaang's names outside of Zuko.

you ask people about why they think shadow's characterization is bad in his game and here comes the most surface level criticism of all time. "blabla swear words something something guns" who cares!!!! superficial at best and irrelevant at worst is what this is. not a peep about character motivation or themes

shadow's motivation in this game is to find out who he is. obviously. it's a real identity transexual self-actualization closet queer coming out game. but it's also about how vulnerable minds who are lost and in need of guidance will be manipulated taken advantage of and brainwashed into following those who prey upon them. about how trauma and confusion can be weaponized to lead you to become the worst version of yourself, and how stumbling on the wrong or right information can lead you to very different conclusions.

this is why thematically speaking, the canon ending is the way that it is. none of the other hero endings would cut it because although shadow makes all the morally right decisions in those, it's also not a true representation of who he is as a person, thus having one of them as the true ending would be anthetical to the message of the game. as opposed to the canon ending which offers the complete unforgiving truth the good and the bad... because this time shadow had all the information available to him and thus he was able to make an informed decision that was the most reflective of his core self and what he believes in and cares about . this is what shth is about this is why all the endings are important in their own way (yes, even the edgy ones), it communicates all facets of shadow he can be your angle or yuor devil.... hes literally all of that. hes literally all that and it goes hard as fuck

the straightedge society storyline was so funny to me because i used to be hyperfixated on cult psychology and a lot of cults actually rely on inducing altered state of consciousness in people to indoctrinate them using shit like chanting, meditation, hypnosis and yeah, drug use. so like, being straight edge is sort of an anthetical to cult brainwashings? however, realistically, it is possible and even more likely to make people more susceptible to cults and make them stay there forever by chronically depriving them of sleep and food. so maybe the straight edge cult wasnt so silly at all (which is btw, a little bit reminiscent of my lived experience in my religion. we're not allowed to drink or smoke and many thinks music and dancing and acting is sinful but its encouraged to sacrifice at least a third of your night or more and wake up in the wee hours before sunrise to pray again, and also fast like twice a week. its not mandatory but again, highly encouraged and people who barely sleep and eat to worship god is seen as an inspiration because theyre following the prophet and they always seem so calm and trusting in whatever god's will is. yeah right. more like compliant. wait why am i talking about my experience w/ religion again?)

It was a romance at a time I didn't like romance. A school show when I didn't like school shows. It didn't get a proper ending and it ran out of budget.

I loved it a lot. It was funny, it was touching, and I rarely rewatched things, but I rewatched this.

And I decided that I definitely had to be an anime fan of I could watch and enjoy something so anthetical to my normal interests.

see, the problem with the “just become a Vtuber” joke is that it’s kind of anthetical to what I like doing. I want focus to be on the game and the conversation, especially in this context, where I am driven to believe that spending time making game videos with someone I like would be a reasonable thing to dedicate some time of my life towards because I just want to spend time with them, whereas I feel Vtubing is much more individual and personality-focused, such as the kind of creator that even in collab streams and such has a following that is interested in them first, game second--wait did you just say honda civic. how the fuck would that work
