Not a problem, ‘non! I happen to love all of my fellow fourth years. Gwen’s a great roommate, and she reminds me that I should be more adventurous sometimes -- plus she loves to talk about Ancient Runes with me, that’s always a plus! And then there’s @zoeboot​, my book buddy and a lifelong friend. She’s very easy to live with, and she constantly lets me borrow great new things to read, what’s not to love? @nobodyputskelseyinthecorner​ is my platonic soulmate, obviously, and nothing in the world could tear us apart. She’s the greatest person I’ve ever met in my whole entire life, hands down. And I can’t forget @zacboot​, the unlucky victim of the Great Mistletoe Disaster of 2024, one of the sweetest boys I know, and another one of my best friends. I’m pretty darned lucky to be in Ravenclaw House, I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

April Fool’s Day was Lui’s favorite day of the whole year, better than his birthday or his Christmas visits from his dad or even fucking with people who got too sappy on Valentine’s Day. And this year, he was trying to pull out all the stops to get Gwen into his trap. For years now she’d always outsmarted him, but this year he was hoping he could call on lingering guilt for her friend-dumping him, and maybe a little bit of inattention to the calendar, to get her to walk right into his April Fool’s tricks.

It was totally text book, just a Parent Trap kind of thing over the door of his cottage, and he’d warned Elly not to come back without asking him if the coast was clear first. Now all he had to do was call Gwen sounding completely pitiful, which would be the tricky part. As he expected, her first words were that he was screwing with her, that there was no way he’d gone from completely nrmal last night to sick as a dog this morning, but as he uttered the words “I’m not okay, I promise,” he heard her groan and stand up, heading his way with medicine he didn’t need.

Against his better judgment, Lui had given Gwen a key ages ago to his cottage so she could get in whenever he wanted, and he sat on the edge of his bed, not moving as he tried to listen for the sound of the front door opening. Gwen was quiet as a cat, though, and before he knew it she was standing in his bedroom -- not covered in syrup and feathers at all. “What the fuck?” Lui asked, his eyes wide with shock, and Gwen rolled her eyes at him as she asked if he really thought she was stupid enough to go through the front door.
