general consensus on the taylor swift poll so far (from the tags) because i think some of my mutuals might be interested:

- a lot of people dont really have an opinion on her or her music, but because of the amount they have to see about her and/or her fanbase, they dislike her

- honestly so much of the reasons people dislike her/her music is the fanbase

- i should have made a 'like her music but are neutral to her as a person' option

- a lot of people think shes hot, regardless of their opinion on her

- generally the majority like her music (to varying extents) but dislike her as a person (to varying extents)

- the main criticisms of her as a person are primarily the private jet thing, and also her having a white woman victim complex

- a lot of people are saying they dislike her music except for one or two songs, but those one or two songs really vary (some examples people have said so far include blank space, bad blood, safe and sound, you belong with me and look what you made me do)

Yohaji Character Survey 2024

With the release of the anime and the end of cour 1, I figured I'd do the character survey again! You can see last time's results here, which was in Oct 2022

I'll tally the results in about 2 weeks, before cour 2 starts (Jan 7), but the form will still stay open after that

Since last time, over 2 years ago, this blog's gone from around 100 followers to 600+, and I've made a twitter (which now has more followers than this blog. u guys r still my fave tho <3) so I wanna see if I can get a bigger sample size

I don't actually remember how many followers I had at that point, the only milestone I know is 300 because I made this post. I was going to make this same joke for twitter too when i hit 300 there but it jumped from like 300 to 600 in like 2 weeks and I missed my chance lol

But anyway I think it was around 100 because at the time I tallied the results I remember thinking "hey 1/5 of my followers responded! pretty nice ratio!"

Some kinda irrelevant stats: Because I set up google SEO for the wiki, I get to see search trends and stats for it and yohaji in general!

Impressions (purple) is "how many people see the wiki in their google search results", which roughly equals "how many people are searching yohaji-related keywords" because the wiki is almost always on the first page of results anyway

Clicks (blue) is "how many people clicked on the link to the wiki in google search", or rather "how many people clicked on the miraheze wiki over the fandom one, either because google put it above or ppl already knew its the active one"

(Don't actually know what's going on on the fandom wiki nowadays, I don't check on it regularly, and a few weeks ago fandom staff revoked my admin and removed all the links to the miraheze wiki when they haven't cared for most of the year, presumably because the anime is driving up viewcounts for the fandom wiki too)

So sort of unexpectedly, it's actually trending upwards week by week!

Myrddin - OG Merlin, he's not actually associated with Arthuriana - and the Welsh myth stuff - until much later. He's one of those who was an irl lad but got incorporated into the mythos at a later date. He was a bard gifted with the power of prophecy (as all bards were thought to be in Celtic society) and was said to have gone mad after the Battle of Arfderydd in which his king and bestie Gwenddoleu died and then he fled into the woods. This gave him the epithet 'Wyllt' or Wild cuz obviously if ur living in the woods then u ain't gonna exactly be living ur best life. He's also famous for having a sister who is-

Gwendydd: her name means 'white day' and I mean that's so pretty but ur gonna know her better as Ganieda. She's best known for the dialogue poem she has with her brother that's featured in The Red Book (or Llyfr Coch) of Hergest. It's in an englyn form (a short poem) and is basically the two of them asking about prophecies and the ensuing answers. She's also featured in two poems 'Afallennau' (apple trees) and Hoianau (The Greetings.' In Afallennau Myrddin says Now Gwenddydd loves me not, and does not greet me;/I have killed her son and her daughter.' And MYRDDIN, BABES, WHAT DID U DO?! Owain - OG Yvain/Ywain/Ivain. He has TOO MANY NAMES. Owain is another irl lad who got sucked into the mythos in a kind of fuckin Alice in Wonderland thing. Best known for being the main character of 'The Lady of the Fountain' he's the twin brother of Morfudd and - if u think his mam's Modron - the brother to Mabon the Hunter. Also, his dad is Urien Rheged so like name a better family pedigree? U can't. Irl Owain is The Worst but Mab Owain is Best Boi. He has a lion. He has ravens. He is besties with Gwalchmai and Peredur. I firmly believe he and Luned have a mate's holiday every year. What's that? U don't think so? U are wrong. Iesu Grist, I love him. I think having a hug from him would fix me. He also saves Luned's life and like they ARE BESTIES.

Pwyll Pen Annwfn - Pwyll Head of Annwfn to give him his proper name. He's the one who Rhiannon marries and is an idiot and like I love him but Pwyll PLS. Also has a run-in with Arawn, Lord of Annwfn that culminates in the two of them disguising themselves as each other and Pwyll slaying Arawn's enemy, Hafgan. He's also Pryderi's dad. He dies at the end of Branch 1 and is never brought up again even tho his wife and son are literally characters in Branch 3 (and if ur Pryderi Branch 4). He's a disaster area of the highest degree.

Bedwyr - Bedwyr of the Perfect Sinew (that's what Bedrydant means) he's HOT SHIT. He's Cai's husband and he's literally one of the Best and Most Handsomest Men in Arthur's retinue. He's also one-handed and the best fighter - as Pa gur says 'They fell by the hundred / before Bedwyr of the Perfect-Sinew.' - And also I think it's imperative u know he battles with fuckin WEREWOLF (Gwrgi Garwlwyd)! Bedwyd is the voice of reason for Arthur when he talks his bud down from trying to kidnap Princess Gwladys of Brycheiniog (Breacon) after he's already been kidnapped once in what I truly imagine must have been a fuckin terrible day for her. And also he and Cai legally take custody of Goreu in Culhwch ac Olwen and ride salmon taxis together. Also, Cai says 'By the hand of my friend' as a catchphrase and it's a ref to Bedwyr. They are Husbands. I legit love him. Cai also loves him. Vote for Bedwyr to please Cai or else.

BASED ON THE POLL, I was really surprised that the majority of you guys voted Pomefiore. Like- I wasn’t really expecting any dorm to win, but Pomefiore is the least expected for me idk why😭

I planned to draw her in all the uniforms but alas, I am not god’s strongest soldier😔✌️ maybe in the future tho!

As to why I drew her in Diasomnia’s uniform, it’s actually the correct (kinda) answer to which dorm Sippy’s most suitable in! I’ve done a quiz twice on which dorm I’d be in twst, and the answer was always Diasomnia. It fits!

Every time I think about Diasomnia I think about the military/guards/knights/soldiers (like Sebek & Silver) so I wanted to make her design realistic those two (ex.the pants, adding combat boots, no braids) . BUT it looked boring. And I don’t want boring. Who gaf about realistic designs anyway /j but yeah her stockings are kinda like Lilia’s!

shes such a FREAK. shes completely human (tho with an eldritch alien creature extradimensionally attached to her mind) but God does she not act like it sometimes. she has the superpower to control bugs and uses it to become the worlds most terrifying hero slash villain slash warlord slash apocalyptic threat. she has her bugs crawling all over her all the time. she uses a swarm of flies to scout out areas and then leaves flies in everybodys hair so she can keep track of where they are. she practiced having her bugs make noises until she figured out how to combine their noises into human speech so now she can talk through her swarm. she makes decoys of herself out of large pillars of bugs. once she was concussed and in the hospital and subconsciously calling her bugs to her so she was just covered in insects while the doctor tried to help her. then there was ANOTHER time she was hospitalized and got bored so she made a bunch of bugs so a little dance on her chest. whenever she's in costume and talking she has her bugs make noises to distort her voice and make her sound more scary and she doesnt even realize shes doing it anymore. she surrounds herself in a swarm to disorient her enemies. she doesn't even notice when her hair covers her eyes or anything like that because shes scouting out the area using her bugs so she doesnt have to see. she once used a tide of bugs to clean herself off and dust off her dress after having sex.

hey I know it’s been a while since you’ve done it and I’m not sure if your up to answer the question, but since you did a full read through of HTN, do you think that Gideon was actually narrating it too harrow? I know a fandom wide consensus was that she was and this got further emphasized from panels where people said either Muir or her editor said it’s a story Gideon is narrating (though I frankly don’t trust quotes form panels if I can’t see it myself. And there’s an interview where Muir said HTN is story harrow tells herself). So I guess my interpretation is that as a device narrator Gideon is narrating the entire story, but like as a character Gideon is only narrating some bits and harrows doing the rest - idk if that makes sense. I just don’t believe that Gideon’s mention of surfacing and drowning in harrow would let her narrate everything - and I do have some disbelief in the narration style being hers tho of course that’s the point and it makes it all the more shocking. Guess I’d just like to hear your thoughts

i think i agree with you for the most part. trying to draw a distinctive line between which lines are gideon and which are harrow defeats the point, being that harrow ate gideon and they are no longer whole without the other. like you said, gideon described her experience as being pulled under and resurfacing (which is where i assume she gets to interject her comments between em-dashes) so shes not entirely conscious, but shes still There. the same as how harrow is still in the narration, still a narrator, despite gideon talking to her in second person. even if gideon is a subconscious witness of the events in the mithraeum i think harrow's voice shows pretty strongly throughout the book.

while i was rereading htn i put up a few polls asking if certain lines were more gideon or harrow: 1 | 2 | 3. im sorry to say that you all were part of my evil science experiment to see how much bias people have towards hidden mickey-gideons. do with that what you will

favorite fandoms: 💘I ult seventeen, that's obvious, got7, and recently yall have seen i've been getting into l0ve and d3ep spac3 (its a fucking problem and I’m not ready to be found yet), but otherwise what else hmmm, I'm a pretty causal listener to most of the rest kpop/krnb. smosh is fun, i love a good laugh, i think half my humor is svt other half from them or smth like that. i get so addicted to things and move on so quicky i'm trying hard to remember rn.

favorite food: 💘banh mi, korean fried chicken, and sashimiiiii omg i could just go ham on either one right about now.

favorite animal: 💘cats and dogs <3, basic ass answer but i havent felt super drawn to a specific animal. Maybe a panda bc they're such a mood. ykw a panda they are something else everytime i hear about a report of them

are you musical? 💘I've sang since i could breathe. i vividly remember my younger self getting my parents to call the viet radio so i could sing on there live (this theatric bitch). I was in choir in my teens, and i for a moment learned viola but not so much anymore.

what were you like as a child? 💘annoying no doubt, and so much more carefree than adult me. like she did not give a single fuck and people liked that about her. i miss her.

favorite subject at school? 💘debate! it got me into public speaking and interpretive performance. I really enjoyed growing a voice from learning how to not only build and refute arguments, but it got me to practice my acting chops a little like i wanted to when i was little

least favorite subject? 💘math, unfortunately i was awful and did not pay attention so i kept messing up formulas. that was my fault tho

what's your best character trait? 💘i don't like saying it but my empathy? I've been told that that's how often i respond to most situations and often give people benefit of the doubt. i just never want to assume whatever is going in someone's life bc we really have no fucking clue.

what's your worst character trait? 💘honestly too much of a people pleaser or rule follower sometimes. i let my moral compass rule over most of my decisions and that's not particularly bad but that's how i'm often holding myself back i fear

if you could change any detail of your day right now what would it be? 💘 i should have not eaten that pack of buldak ramen bc that was not good for my stomach. i need a real balanced meal especially after what i was told at my doctor's apt.

if you could travel in time who would you like to meet? 💘idk if i want to change any big part of history, that is not something i could leave on my conscious if it blows up the world, but i'd like to visit my younger self that its okay to mess up and really go for things bc she can be so much more if she tried.
