Taehyung was still learning how to love you.

There’d always been a language barrier between you, and you often failed to understand each other’s language.

Most of the time, it was easy to read between the lines. To pick up on your silent cues, the way you leaned in when you were interested in what he had to say. How you lowered your gaze when you were feeling shy or bit your lip while fighting back a shy smile.

It’s the same smile you’re wearing now, draped across his couch, cheesing over a romantic drama. He loved you like this: lighthearted and carefree. But lately, it’s a side to you he’d been missing.

And he hated breaking you out of your happy bubble, but Taehyung needed to speak to you to clear up something weighing on his heart.

“Can we talk?”

There’s hesitation in your eyes now that the questions have been asked. Taehyung waits for the tension to melt, patiently observing as you look him in the eye and nod.

“Are you not attracted to me?”

By now, Taehyung basically knew how to read you down to a science.

Some things were easier to learn than others. Early on, he figured out you weren’t a morning person. He found it cute that you were always so grumpy during the early hours and that the little scrunch between your brows meant you weren’t ready to talk before having caffeine. He quickly learned you appreciated him bringing you a cup of coffee more than a good morning call.

And the little things, of course. Taehyung knew your favorite color and how to make your smile. He was fairly certain your love language was quality time (acts of service a close second). There were still parts of you he was desperate to know more—soul, mind, and body.

Taehyung cared more for physical touch. You, however, never seemed all that interested in being intimate. Whenever he tried to initiate something more than a kiss, you almost always slipped from his grasp, muttering a vague excuse.

Maybe it's me, but I dont like to assume ppls sexuality because at the end of the day, it's between them and the person they are with or chooee to be with. For example, if a celeb came out and spoke on their sexuality like Kehlani, I would be interested ond supportive as it's in so much of their music, the same as certain actors like Jonathan Bailey and Aresma Thomas. Anyone else, I dont like to speculate, I feel it's too personal and not anyone's business like ppls religion or politics. to a lot of people outside of the queer community and those who are not, i suppose “up to date” with queer culture and what not, the term “queer” often means what “lesbian” or “gay” often means, to them.

but actually, the label “queer” can be whatever you want it to be!

it used to be a slur, back in the day, but the LGBTQ+ community has reclaimed it and turned it into a positive thing; to express queerness is to love yourself and others.

“queer” is kinda an umbrella term, which is why people use it in so many different ways, and if you’re not “educated” or in the know about queer difference, than you may interpret it it be a different thing than it is.

for me personally, it’s changed over the years. i don’t like the concept of labels, and i know that no one is entitled to knowing my sexuality except my self and the person i intend on pursuing; however, i do love to express my queer identity to the right people :)

for me, back in highschool i connected with “queer” because i didn’t connect with terms such as “bisexuality” or “pansexuality”, but i did connect with queer. it was aloof and no one had to know what was going on in my head whilst i was still figuring it out, but it also let the people around me know that i definitely am in the LGBTQ+ community and i’m proud to be.

now, i still identify as queer, even though i have a strong preference for women and also comfortably identify with the label “lesbian”, both feel comfortable and right to me in different ways, and i’ll express that in different ways with different people.

i know nothing about this singer kehlani if i’m being honest and i certainly know nothing about their baby, but the way i’m interpreting this, is similar to biphobia or erasure.

just because someone’s queer, bi, pan or whatever, doesn’t mean that they “lose” their queerness when they are romantically or sexually involved with a person of the opposite gender. there are plenty of women out there with multiple kids and a loving husband that are part of the queer community, or vice versa.

just because you’re involved with a person of the opposite gender, does not mean your queerness is invalid.

as i said, being queer means different things to different people, just like every other term you’ll find in the LGBTQ+ community.

different people + different experiences = different meaning to the label you identify and feel safe with :)

if kehlani has expressed publicly that they are queer, then they are queer. just because they’re involved with a person of the opposite sex and having a kid with them, doesn’t mean they aren’t queer anymore! they probably just like people of any gender :)

(usually, based on personal experience and the people around me (so this is not factual), when someone identifies with the label “queer” it generally means they like people of multiple genders, or regardless of their gender. but people that also prefer one singular gender can identify with this term too, if it feels good and safe to them)

I think people were telling Jack to take them off the song because Kehlani and Jojo made alternate versions of their songs that originally had Tory Lanez for fans to stream as a way to support Megan but those songs with Tory are still available on platforms and also on their albums. Another example is that Bhad Bhabie made a song with Kodak Black (sex offender) and fans were mad so she made another version with Megan Thee Stallion but the one with Kodak is still avaliable. Anyways Jack already has a version without Tory Lanez (again it's a remix) which is just "What's Poppin'". Tory, dababy, etc, already have credits and rights to the song, he can't just take them off even if he wanted to (unless he went to court or something).
