“a kitten? how cute,” he teases, hand coming to cheerfully rub at the top of your head. it was only your second week since you’ve started your job here, and yet he’s made it very clear that he’d be paying you a visit every single shift.

a part of you wishes he had never found your cafe’s instagram, where they uploaded each week’s theme on sundays without fail. you can only imagine how ecstatic suo must’ve been when he saw what was scheduled for today— because he was stepping through the door only fifteen minutes into the start of your shift.

“c-can i get you anything else, master..?” you stammer, eyebrows deeply furrowed in embarrassment as you hug the extra menus to your chest. he’s only chuckling at your nerves, back of his hand coming to mask his laugh as you give him your best attempt at a glare. “you’re not supposed to laugh,” you whisper through your teeth, “stop being like that..!”

“oh, sorry,” your shoulders relax a bit when his laughter dies down, and he’s smiling back at you all over again. “then i’ll just have you stay beside me until i’m done with my tea. that won’t be a problem, right?”

KIRYU MITSUKI’s mouth parts open in surprise when you come to serve him his food, cute little bear ears sticking out from the hood as you set down his plate in front of him.

“this is your omelette, master!”

“oh, thank you,” his voice comes out soft, but he’s tugging you by the little bear tail at the back of your outfit as soon as you turn to check on your next table, “but don’t leave just yet.”

your head turns back, gaze shifting back and forth between his hand and his face. “..is something wrong?”

he doesn’t respond.

you sigh when he still doesn’t let go of your tail, not even looking at you as his free hand comes to click at his screen. “wait just a couple more seconds…” he says, scrolling through his apps. “ah..! here it is. okay~”

some of the other visitors are turning their heads to look at you as soon as they hear his chair abruptly scooting backwards, body leaning back a bit to angle his phone’s camera towards you with a content hum.

“k-kiryu!” you huff under your breath when you realize exactly what he’s doing, “that’s so embarrassing..!”

he only chuckles in response. “but you look so cute,” he coos, “smile nice and big for me, okay?”

KAJI REN’s lollipop falls out of his mouth as soon as he sees you dressed up in a bunny onesie, one ear flopping over your face when you do a little bow to greet him and the two standing behind him.

“oh, it’s kaji’s girl working today! what a nice surprise, huh kaji?” you hear enomoto’s voice loud and clear, followed by a loud ‘tch’ from your boyfriend.

those two— enomoto and kusumi— didn’t say a single word about this. he was wondering just exactly what they were snickering about so loudly earlier before they were suddenly at his side to ask if they could stop by your cafe before heading home.

something about a deal on coffee? he can’t believe he actually fell for that.

“oh, kaji!” you gleam, lips tugging into a huge smile. “oops— i meant master. your table is over here. follow me.”

he’s clenching his jaw in place of his lollipop, eyes narrowed into a deep scowl in his attempt to dissipate the blush rising to his cheeks. you looked cute, big ears flopping up and down with each step you take, and you’re practically drowning in the excess fabric.

did they not have your size?

“oh,” enomoto interrupts his train of thought, and he turns to see him and kusumi are suddenly checking their phones, the weather app- specifically. “we gotta leave, actually. we’ll see you tomorrow, yeah?”

and they’re gone just like that.

For over a year now I've been listening to mixtapes (Neon Palm Mall by SPLIFF Radio is the one that actually got me into vaporwave, I love love love it so much) and I really want to thank you for sharing! I've developed a deep love for this genre, but I didn't really know any albums specifically, so I'm glad I found you!

and to answer yr question abt albums vs mixtapes: this stems fr the fact that a lot of vaporwave is based on theft. vaporwave is a VERY sample heavy genre, as i'm sure you're likely aware, and while samples are usually meant to be some manner of open secret, esp in earlier days it was uncommon to openly admit to exactly what yr using, as it was supposed to be like a fun little inside joke between you and your audience as to what you were using and how. fast forward, vaporwave isn't popular per se but it definitely has more eyes on it, and some of those eyes are a little more concerned as to the ethics of such heavy usage of sampling. some argue that a lot of vaporwave songs aren't original songs so much as they're just remixes, which is why they prefer the term mixtape to refer to certain projects rather than albums.

as new subgenres come and go, some artists/albums have caused more of a stir in this regard than others. there are still some people who say saint pepsi (despite his notoriety) doesn't make real vaporwave, whatever the fuck that's supposed to mean, because of how much he (and future funk in general) relies on samples and i know there were some people who were a little miffed about the fact that OSCOB's praise the sun god practically samples an entire album (Future Lounge 03 (2000) by various artists) without actually doing all that much to it (which can sort of be the nature of a lot of barber beats tracks). and for the record, i understand wanting other artists to be credit for their work, but also i think it's a little rich to try and harp about it when vaporwave is all about stealing from other people anyways (though sample-less vaporwave does exit. hakita/heaven pierce her (yes, of ULTRAKILL fame) actually makes sample-less vaporwave music!)

ultimately, i think it's up to the artists themselves what they'd like their work to be called (and some do indeed call their works mixtapes rather than albums) but also. like who cares man LMAO it's all theft and it's all fun, i don't think it rlly matters esp since vaporwave... well it's not exactly a lucrative business, is it? lol, a lot of vaporwave artists actually offer their entire discographies for free/cheap/some sort of name your price, so the only real money they make off their works is probably physical merch or live performances (as is the normal life of a music artist, really, but i digress).

if u wanna learn more abt vaporwave stuff, pad chennington's where you wanna look! he makes a lot of videos about more obscure things in music, especially vaporwave stuff and he's a pretty big deal in vaporwave spaces, relatively speaking.

16-year-old anon from earlier, and yeah, same! If you'll allow me to rant for a minute (though I may have already done so in the past) here is MY experience as a Taylor Swift fan over the years:

First remember being aware of who she is around Red/1989. I think the first song I heard was IKYWT and it was on the radio. From that point I would find any Taylor-related content on YouTube. This included music videos, interviews, parodies, the occasional bit of gossip (the only tidbit I remember pre-rep was Calvin at the Massage place that gave happy endings😭), and of course, speed-up versions of her songs because this was pre her adding her catalogue BACK to streaming, not that I WAS streaming at age 7, but yk.

I had a vague knowledge of some of her boyfriends. I knew Harry (duh) and Calvin (also kind of duh) and Joe Jonas. I knew of the Jonas Brothers (mainly cause of the purity ring jokes, which if we're being fr is their main legacy) and I also knew he did Cake By The Ocean which was EVERYWHERE circa 2016. I don't think I knew he'd dated Taylor, though. I think I also only found out about Hiddles and that whole circus around Rep.

Around 2015ish i saw a 1989 CD at Target and asked my mum to buy it. I then got a Red CD soon after. Cut to 2016/2017, Taylor's music isn't being played on the radio, and my 9(?) year old self is sad and confused. I knew nothing of the #taylorswiftisoverparty. I just knew they weren't playing her music anymore. Cut to 2017 - i, alongside the rest of the world, sat and watched the LWYMMD music video. I also remember watching the lyric video and being scared by the snake😭

After this, I tried very hard to listen to rep in full, but had no idea where to find it. One night, I was a scrolling on YT and found Delicate (or Dress), and then came across Better Than Revenge. My 9/10 year old self was SCANDALISED and VERY confused, as I had never seen the Speak Now album cover in. my. life. and thought she had already put out an album. Anyway, sometime between the release of Rep & Lover, I stopped seeking stuff out. When the Lover singles came out I hated ALL of them. From memory, ME! felt like a personal violation (I was BIG into PAN!C at the time, and hated that the song was so ass - though, in retrospect, the stuff of theirs (later work. Very little early stuff) that I listened to was objectively worse), Lover (song) was boring, and You Need To Calm Down made me viscerally angry due to me starting to realise I was not straight and desperately trying to believe I was wrong. I did not seek out Lover the way I had done Rep and was, at this point, a genuine anti.

Then folklore came out and people RAVED about it, so I decided to check it out. I liked it, but didn't click with it in the way other people had. It did inspire me to check out her back catalogue + rep/Lover. By the time evermore dropped I was IN IT, and I became even more in it upon hearing evermore. I got very involved in fandom culture (also got very into Glee... you can imagine what the combination inspired in 13 year old me), until around 2022, when I began being frustrated with Taylor’s jets and perfomatitive activism. I once again went anti (I also got very into Stranger Things around this time, specifically Max... played by Sadie Sink... Taylor Swift is the only constant in this world). Then, she reeled me back in with the Midnights marketing campaign. Once again, I was there the second it dropped (as I have been for all of her releases since evermore). WCS broke my brain (as right where you left me had the year prior) and I had no choice but to go FULL swiftie. And since then I've maintained it pretty solidly.

a gifset of a remake you haven’t watched/ don’t like/ isn’t your favorite: i only watched few clips from new seasons of skam fr so i will count it as a remake i haven’t watched. @feminizedbf is making the best gifsets for these seasons and im honestly in awe of his creativity and devotion bc the tag was so dead during the time the season was airing and the gifsets got only few notes which is very unfair because these gifsets deserve all the love. my favs are new gen + name etymology, favorite episodes and the one with nikita gill and this one absolutely broke me thank u

a gifset with a cool layout: idc care about the rules and will include 944838 gifsets because i can and they all are so so pretty and there are way too many talented people there. sobbe + the night we met @nyttvera is a masterpiece and i still think about it daily, also very like her layouts here and here. vendredi 20h27 by @feminizedbf in comics style is insane love it so much. i call @sandersyasmina a queen of layouts for a reason and this one with ohn is my favorite. it was hard not to include everything @sanderdriesen made because they all are so creative and beautiful and i will try to keep it short and not write essays on each of them. ohn and moving drawings of robbe, hotel clips, sobbe journey, dinsdag 16:31, are the ones that blew my mind and AND my favorite gifset of all time😙 also i very liked yasmina each episode series that @sanderxrobbee had going on, layouts on these gifsets are so cool. really loved layouts on gifsets for sobbe anniversaries @nellsdani was making and especially this one for woensdag 21:21 (and and really love this one for ohn and with robbe). @fatoujallovv is always so creative with layouts and kieutou gifset is one of my favorites

hi!! i saw this last night when i was getting ready for work but i didn’t want to reply just yet because i wanted to give you a full reply! im also on mobile so i can't really tell how long it is but i want to keep it short(er). if you want more elaboration, let me know! i talk a lot so i definitely could talk more about him jdkadkla.

so, i’ve talked about my in-depth opinions of season five here, so i’m gna use this ask to talk more in-depth about arthur as a character, if that’s okay. 🖤

overall, i actually like arthur! in season three, he was potrayed as light and giddy but season five took it in the complete opposite direction, giving him depth that he didn't originally have. i know it was just skam fr trying to pull away from the airy vibes of the earlier seasons & making themselves a distinct remake but having arthur be the first was a good decision.

i actually sympathize with him a lot. when the season was live, a lot of people didn't give him the care & consideration he deserved. his entire life, everything he had known and grown comfortable with, had changed. this piece of information that he withheld in hopes of holding onto some piece of normalcy was now impossible to hide and it was violently done.

do i condone him cheating on alexia? no, of course not. but i fully understand why his emotions were so torn and confused. he just should have broken up with her the moment he couldn't distinguish his feelings for her.

he's a victim of abuse trying to cope with the permanent consequences of his abuser's actions. not to mention the victim of an assault, that aided in the consequence.

honestly, he just needs his mother to leave his father, go to therapy, and not date anyone for a while.

his anger, his confusion, his desperation to hols onto his old reality — all of it made sense to me. i don't know if it's because i was in the exact same situation as him with trying to graduate & havint my hearing suddenly drop but it's such a confusing time and it's isolating. it's so, so isolating.

i was really glad when he made the decision to not date either of the girls. it showed progress from the starting point and gave him more development than just the love triangle and an angsty, angry person.

oh! i talked a bit in the tagged post about how arthur should have been played by a deaf/hoh person but i think he should have also been played by a man of colour. it doesn't sit right with me that the white character, inspired by a moc, is the one who gets the season, y'know?

having a character with an intersectional identity would have been amazing. it would have added a layer that we don't often see in shows like skam — how people are layered and they still just exist. imagine having a disabled poc as a main? (druck pulled through)

(although, i can't say i would have trusted skam fr with the execution of the season if he was a deaf moc, considering how they did handle it with a white main, how they treated their other characters of colour, etc)

hi! i noticed that in your tags on one of the things you reblogged, you criticized skam fr for using “finding the person you love as a right reason to change yourself.” i understand your point of view and why you may be upset, but i have to disagree. i don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing. to have someone you love, may it be a romantic interest or a friend or a family member, be a reason to change isn’t necessarily a bad thing, in my opinion. (2/?) for example, my brother’s support was incredibly helpful as i was managing my addiction issues and suicidal tendencies. even just knowing that he existed in my life was reason for me to change, because he inspired me to become a better person. i understand why “solely getting better because of one person and no other reason” may be a problem, but it didn’t seem to be portrayed that way in the clip.

Hey there! I totally understand your pov and I agree that having someone and knowing that there is someone who cares about you and your wellbeing is important and can be extremely helpful. I think I know which post you're referring to and I reused the tag from a gifset I reblogged earlier where Eliott fondly said that maybe Lola hasn't found the real reason to get better yet, right after he and Lucas had a fight and the whole clip was a parallel to "minute by minute" clip and it looked like Eliott meant that Lucas was his real reason to get better and later in the next clip with the talk about finding your own Lucas/Luqette it seemed to me like they're going in this direction. And while I agree that having someone who loves you unconditionally helps a lot, the whole theme of getting better because of or for the other person and not for yourself is so overused in the media and I'm really worried they'll go in this direction because with those two clips it did seem like that to me :/ But I really appreciate your message and likewise, I hope you didn't think my tag invalidated your opinion.
