So, I needed to write about it.

I am currently an Annual Pass holder at Disneyland Paris. Disneyland Paris has been the only safe space I found to release the pressure from my studies. It helped me in many ways this year.

If you missed it, Disneyland Paris just announced a new range of annual passes. Their prices are higher and their benefits are reduced by a lot. I am speechless.

They increased the price by 200€ AND they removed all of the benefits. The ancient annual pass that gave 350 days of access went from 320€ to 499€ (so it's approximately twice the price) and the one that gave 365 days of access went from 500€ to 700€. That's A LOT.

We lost all the benefits : we no longer have Extra Magic Time (only the 700€ annual pass offer it), privileged ticket at lowered price for friend and family, dedicated entrance for annual pass holder, viewing area for parade and fireworks, and EVEN free location of wheelchairs and stroller is removed!! There's even more removed because there is only 4 advantages left : a lowered reduction at the stores/restaurants/PhotoPass and an access the parking, that's all.

Also, they did NOT remove the reservation system (not at all, not a little bit).

I was hopeful for the futur of Disneyland Paris seeing how it went in the United States. Now I'm just disgusted.

I'm a student, I can't afford such a high price and such low advantages (300€ was the maximum I could pay and it's still expensive for me). It will be my last year at Disneyland Paris and I have to find another safe space yeyy

Merlin Discontinuing the V.I.P Annual Pass 😢

Hi all!

As most of you will probably have already seen, Merlin revealed a few days ago that they will no longer be selling the V.I.P annual pass.

This came at a pretty hard blow to me and my partner as we have been V.I.P pass holders for the past three years now and we have loved it!

The main reason we got the pass was for the unlimited fastrack, thanks to that we was able to get all the rides done everytime we went to a Merlin park.

The extra “perks” was a nice bonus but we didn’t have the need to take the full advantage of it, for example merlin often put on special mini events for the V.I.P pass holders such as exclusive ride time and out door activities. These where attractive to kids but it wasn’t really applicable to us.

We wasn’t the sort of V.I.P pass holders you would expect, we never wore the lanyards because we felt it was cringe a.f, we never felt or acted “entitled” or expected extra treatment from the staff. We have seen in person and read online how rude and snobby some of the V.I.P’s was and it is total unnecessary to act that way.

We never spent time on park with the other V.I.P members or go to the “meet up” events for this reason.

So I can see why Merlin would stop selling the passes because with all the extra perks and events they put on for the pass holders along with the free entry in to every merlin facility both in the U.K and across the world along with unlimited fastrack, it doesn’t make business sense and I can see why it would not be profitable for the company.

That being said I really hope they offer something as a replacement, maybe a premium plus pass? which would include unlimited fastrack but none of the extra benefits and perks.

Or a separate fastrack annual pass for all of the Merlin parks?
