#100daystobravechallenge day 28 Mourn Dreams That Have Died. I think it is important to acknowledge that something you wanted badly in the past is no longer something you want anymore. Taking a moment to appreciate the journey that lead you to here. I thought for a while I wanted to move to the Caribbean to open a bar and scuba dive while being a writer. I even moved to Florida and tried to start that journey, briefly looking into jobs in the BVI. Life hit me with a bunch of signs that this wasn't my path. Yet that still doesn't mean I was happy with the direction my life was taking with moving back to Texas with no plan on a three hour whim of a decision. So today I will take a moment to mourn that dream that passed. Bragging time...I actually finished a devotional!!! I can honestly say "I have been changed for the better..." (had to throw some Wicked the Musical lyrics in there) because of this devotional. I an so freaking proud of myself. This devotional is amazing and was super easy to do. @anniefdowns feels like a life long friend even though I have never met her. If you are looking for a devotional I highly recommend #100daystobrave. If I can complete this devotional I have faith that you can too. Also: check out Annie's books. #tbt to that magic collection of moments when @judahandthelion brought out their buds @needtobreathe + @stevemoakler to share in the glory of a sold out headlining weekend at the mother church. there are a lot of things i hoped for, as i spent the day on a bus pointed south.. this grand surprise was beyond my wildest dreams. annie echoes my heart so perfectly, writing of my favorite place on the planet.. I honestly do not remember the last time a book impacted me the way this book did. I listened to the audiobook and cried my way through the whole thing. This was exactly what I needed to hear right now. Annie is so honest and it made me feel not so alone. I wish I could buy this book for everyone I know. If I were rich, I FOR SURE would. Because I think anyone who has ever struggled with God over things or life didn't turn out the way you planned needs to read her story. Thank you, @anniefdowns for your gift to the world. LONG POST - In a moment of transparency, I have to admit that I struggle with fear. I used to be such a risk taker... 😔 I'm reading #100daysofbrave to help me with that. Isaiah 41:13 tells me that God takes my right hand and tells me not to fear; he will help me. If you struggle like me, read this verse and hold on to #godspromise🌈. Also know that even though fear may rule your thoughts, do it anyway...THAT'S BRAVE! I have to constantly repeat this to myself and know that I'm ok! @scribblinggrace has that cutest tutorials! ‪for all the days we thought we were out of the wilderness, but still seem to be "kicking sand." oh, annie.. you spoke to the rawest parts of my heart with this story, sister. many tears came, as the truths sank deep within me. many of the pages are inked up, like this. : ) i'm grateful for the work we're doing together, God + i. for the ways God's proving to be kind.
