pairing: park sunghoon x fem!reader
genre: revenge, angst, smut, fluff
synopsis: Sunghoon nurtured a profound animosity towards his childhood friend, Lee Heeseung, blaming him for his sister's death. To Sunghoon, his sister was the only person who had genuinely loved him, making Heeseung's perceived betrayal unforgivable. This deep resentment sparked an intense desire for revenge, driving Sunghoon to extreme measures to achieve it. But to what extent would he go to find satisfaction in his vengeance against Lee Heeseung? Would his plans unfold smoothly, or would everything take an unexpected turn, throwing his schemes into something he didn’t expect.
word count: 7k
warnings: swearing, kidnapping (kinda), possessive hoon, mentions of death, fake marriage, depression.
an eye for an eye: part 1 - masterlist
Tumblr media
The familiar feeling of emptiness flooded his body. Sunghoon’s eyes were lifeless as the they gazed at the coffin where his sister’s remains lay.
This was the same feeling he had when his father’s mistress left him at his biological father’s mansion.
He felt the coldness of his father towards him. He felt the hatred of his father’s wife. He saw disappointment in his grandparents’ faces.
He was unloved and unwanted, it was a no brainer.
For a six-year-old child, it was all too much to take. When he was living with his mother, he was treatedlike shit. And when he lived with his father, there was no difference at all. It’s no wonder why he became wary of people. He wouldn’t want to talk to anyone, nor be in the same room as them. He would only go out to eat and return to his room to lock himself up. He even thought back then that his existence was big bad joke.
But one day, a girl with the same dark brown eyes as his went inside his room and forced him to leave the house and drink up some sunshine. He had no other choice but to follow the girl because she would never let go of his hand.
Truth to be told, Sunghoon found the girl irritating, he wanted to hurt her. But when she said that she was his sister and that she would protect him from all evil, he was left speechless. Because for the first time in years, there was a person who wanted to protect him. Her older sister’s smile made him cry, not because of sadness, but because of happiness.
He let out a hollow laugh. He will never see those smiles of her sister ever again. Those good old times would now be just a mere memory.
He slightly turned his head when he heard someone familiar talking behind him. Sunghoon’s jaw clenched as he stared at the cause of his beloved sister’s death, Lee Heeseung. His bestfriend and her sister’s boyfriend.
With heavy feet, he stood up and approached the guy and his father who he was talking to.
“You’re not welcome here, Lee Heeseung. Leave” His voice was hard and heavy.
“Park Sunghoon!” His father reprimanded.
“Uncle, can you please give us a minute? We’re just going to talk.”
“If you want to explain what happened, then let me tell you that you’re just wasting your time.” He said, blankly, not showing an ounce of emotion to the guy in front of him.
“Please, Sunghoon, listen to me. I didn’t want all of this to happen. I-I’m sorry.” Heeseung sounded so pathetically contrite, making him want to vomit.
“So you want me forgive you just like that, Heeseung?” He sarcastically remarked. Heeseung shook his head with a sigh and looked at Sunghoon with pleading eyes once again.
“I know it was partly my fault, and I am also hurting, Sunghoon. You know how much I love your sister, and I wouldn’t ask for this to happen.”
“You wouldn’t ask for this to happen?” He sharply retorted what the guy said. “It was the middle of the fucking night, yet you asked her to go out riding in your stupid car. You asked her to leave even if it was already late. Clearly, you asked for this the happen! You are the reason why my sister is lying there!” He lashed out, pointing at the coffin where her sister’s lifeless body lie.
“It was our anniversary! I invited her out because I wanted to surprise her!” Heeseung’s left hand balled into a fist he was sure the right one would do the same if it weren’t in a sling due to the accident.
“Yeah, and because of that stupid surprise, my sister died.” He saw the look of hurt in his best friend’s eyes, but the pain that he is seeing wasn’t enough for him. He wanted to beat the shit out of Heeseung and kill him with his bare hands, but that would be too easy.
“I didn’t know that a drunk driver would appear and hit us! If only I knew… I-if only I knew…” Heeseung’s eyes reddened with pain.
Sunghoon’s greeted his teeth, turning away. “Leave.”
“Sunghoon, please….”
“Just leave!” he hissed. “Leave and don’t ever show your face to me ever again.” He said in a serious tone.
“Sunghoon?” He was quick to turn his head towards the source of the voice. There stood Y/n, standing next to Heeseung as she anxiously glanced back and forth between the two. “Why would you say that to my brother?”
His lips pressed firmly with a stern expression. “Because his idea of a pleasant surprise is a bad joke.”
That was all he said before returning to his seat. He didn’t bother to look at the two again, and he wasn’t able to see Y/n’s eyes widen in surprise. He only heard the faint farewells of the two to his father.
Once again, Sunghoon confined in his own lonely world. He feels like he was cursed and happiness was forcefully denied to him. Losing his sister who helped him break free from his dark world was painful.
Losing a friend that he considered a family was painful.
Losing the woman he had learned to love was painful.
In just a snap, he lost the people who gave color to his world.
Tumblr media
10 years later…
The service crew was very attentive, Sunghoon noticed. The place was modern and cozy. He hadn’t taste any of the pastries yet, but they looked appetizing. All in all, the bakeshop was pretty impressive. There’s no wonder why a lot of people go here.
On the other hand, it was quite a surprise that he’s in the shop. This was the first time he set foot in this place.
He wouldn’t bother to come if it weren’t for something important, especially since the owner of this bakeshop is the sister of someone he despises.
Yes, he knew you owned this place.
Your town is small enough for him to not know that. So, why the hell would he choose to meet someone in your haven of all places? There was a ninety-nine percent chance of him seeing you there. But what can he do about it?
His ‘oh so noble father’ commanded him to meet with the girl he liked for him. Obviously wanting him to settle down already. And because that he is the only son of his beloved father, he has no right to oppose to it.
He felt his phone rang and he answered.
“Yes?”
“Hey, Mr. Park.”
Said the girl on the other line. The voice sound forcefully seductive it sounded cheap to his ear.
“May I know who’s on the other line?”
Sunghoon asked lazily and almost rolled his eyes.
“This is Shin Yuna. I’m the one you’re meeting at the bakery in town.”
His eyes went searching for a woman who was on the phone, probably speaking with him. At the door he saw a woman wearing a tight-fitting yellow dress. The woman had a phone pressed to one ear, her eyes scanning the inside of the shop. Looks like she was the one he’s waiting for.
He ended that call once her eyes landed on him. Evidently, she’d recognize him. A sensual smile appeared on her bloody red lips and she started walking towards him.
He should feel lucky because the woman was a catch. Her skin was smooth and fair, she had shiny, long hair. And in his opinion, aside from her hourglass figure, the girl’s flawless legs were her best asset, free from any scars.
She was gorgeous all right. But it doesn’t have an impact on Sunghoon.
Yuna must be one of those girls who are pretty on the outside, empty in the inside. Beautiful but annoying and boring.
He stood up as the girl approached. He offered his hand but she didn’t take it. Instead, she leaned to give him a kiss on his cheek. Okay, he wasn’t at all shocked by that.
“Nice to meet you Mr. Park” she greeted
“The pleasure is all mine, Miss Shin.”
“Please, call me Yuna.” She said with a wide almost flirty smile. “Then call me Sunghoon.” He motioned her to the seat in front of him. “Please, have a seat.”
“Thank you, have you ordered anything yet” she said as she sat.
Sunghoon shook his head. “Not yet, I was waiting for you. And it’s my first time here, I don’t know what food to choose.” Her hand rested on his arm and he wasn’t born yesterday to not know that she was openly flirting with him.
“Oh Really? You should try their famous gyeran-ppang. It’s a fluffy loaf of bread with a whole egg inside. It’s really good, I suggest you try it.”
Sunghoon suddenly remembered you, gyeran-ppang was your favorite ever since. Be it sweet of savory. He didn’t expect that those two could be brought together.
“If you liked it, maybe I should try it.” He simply said, trying to push away the memories. Yuna’s eyes sparkled, and he wanted to roll his eyes, but Sunghoon retrained himself. What was an hour of enduring this infront of her, right?
“Okay, I’ll just go to the counter to order, since this is a self-service shop.” Yuna said as he noticed a slight frown on her face. “I hope next time they hire waiters here so customers won’t have to go to the counter to do the job.”
Ah, he knew it.
His assumptions were correct, the girl only visually pleasing. Deep inside, she was a typical rich brat. He found his father’s taste in girl quite funny.
“It’s like hitting two birds with one stone. The service would be aster, plus it would provide jobs for jobless people. That way, more customers would go here, and it would reduce the number of unemployed people.” She annoyingly added further.
God help him stop himself from sneering. As if he’d believe that shit. What could this girl possibly know about work and helping other people?
“Yeah, you’re right.” He answered dryly. “I’ll order, I’m the guy here and I should be the one treating you and taking care of things.”
She sweetly smiled at him once again. “Why, thank you, Sunghoon. I’ll have two gyeran-ppang and one iced coffee. And please ask for a fork and knife while you’re at it.”
“Alright.” He gave her a small smile and quickly stood up, immediately walking his way to the counter to escape his date. He wished the serving of their food would last longer, but the workers in the shop were indeed good at what they do. In less than six minutes. He was back at his table with Yuna waiting for him.
“Go ahead and try it.” She urged him to sit down as their order was served. He took a bit of the gyeran-ppang and he instantly knew why it became popular in the area.
“It’s good right?” He simply nodded in response. Yuna then picked up the bread knife and fork that he requested earlier and used them to eat.
“Why use a fork and knife? It’s a finger food.” He couldn’t help but to ask.
“Oh, eating it with my fingers would be a mess, and my lipstick would smudge if I eat it directly.” Sunghoon avoided raising the corners of if his lips.
“I see. I’m surprised that you eat food like this and have that kind of body.” Yuna let out a shy laugh at his statement.
“I’m very conscious with what I eat, but when I tried this a few weeks ago, I forgot the diet. I even bought boxes of it for the orphanage that we were helping, And the kids loved it too.”
She was trying to impress him by mentioning the word orphanage? Would it be a bad idea to laugh? Or was he being too hard on this girl? After all, what did he know about Yuna? He didn’t even bother to make an effort to find out about the girl’s demeanor before coming here. Is her values really worth his time? Sunghoon bit his lip to stop himself from commenting something he’d regret saying later on.
Sunghoon glanced at the entrance of the bakeshop and he swore he felt his heart pounded. A pang of nostalgia when he saw a familiar figure arrive.
You were like an angel minus the wings and the halo. You were wearing a simple with dress that gave you sweet and innocent look. He didn’t expect that you would become even more beautiful than you are over the years. Your rosy white skin was flawless, he longed to touch it. Your lips were full and naturally pink. He almost tasted those once and he suddenly had this urge to kiss you.
He sighed forcefully, everything about him was cold earlier but he felt so damn hot in an instant just by seeing you. He wanted to own you, he wanted to make you his.
Sunghoon felt his heart race at he continued to stare at your face, feeling the rush of warmth in his body.
The beautifully scattered moles on your face made you look more unique ang exquisite to him. Back then, Sunghoon thought he could spend the rest of his life just by looking at your lovely face. Your beautifully sculpted brown eyes with thick and long lashes were still bright and full of life. He wanted to lose himself one day while looking at those hypnotic vivid orbs.
You walked you way towards the counter and greeted your staff with a bright smile.
The sun’s heat was nothing compared to the warmth of your smile. You were like the sun, only brighter, with inky black hair shining.
Now that’s his kind of pretty. You would always be his kind of pretty. Your beauty was ethereal, it was second to none in Sunghoon’s eyes. He mustered all his strength to look away from the person who evoked such emotions from him.
He tried to put his focus on the person in front of him, but his eyes would occasionally wander back to you.
“So, what are you busy with these days?” He heard Yuna asked him.
“Work, I guess.” He shrugged. “We export high quality mangoes to our neighboring countries.”
“Oh. Yeah, my parents and I visited your mango farm once. And I must say, your place is very refreshing.”
“Thank you, how about you? What your work?” He asked to have something to talk about, not because he wanted to know.
Yuna took a sip of her iced coffee before responding.
“I’m an interior designer, I often have famous celebrities as my client.” She said, feeling proud. “You know that one actor in squid game? He was my last client. Tell you what, his mansion was large, so I was very happy that I got the project.”
He tried his best not to look bored.
What does he care about celebrities? He hadn’t even watched this movie that she was talking about. But he needed to endure all this for two reasons. First, he didn’t want to be rude no matter how his inner demon wished to be. And second, to distract himself from your presence.
His only problem now is how will he hide himself from the owner of this bakery.
“Hey, Ning. How are you all doing?” You asked your worker working on the cashier as you entered the counter.
“We’re doing fine, Y/n. It was a bit of a hassle earlier because there were loads of customers, but it was overall doing alright. I mean, what’s a little hassle when you can earn profit, right?” Ningning said, smiling widely.
You giggled. “Yes, true. Sorry for being late, I wasn’t able to help you here. I just had something to take care of back home.”
“No, Y/n. It’s all good, you’re the boss here after all. You don’t have to worry about a single thing, we got you.” She said reassuringly, smiling softly at you.
“Yeah, Y/n. Besides, we know you’re going through something tough right now. How was everything anyway?” Sunoo, your amazing barista, asked. You sighed deeply before answering the young man.
“It’s not settled yet, our ranch is still a mess.”
“Oh, Y/n. Don’t be down like that, you’re going to get through everything sooner than you think.” You just smiled a Sunoo’s statement.
You needed money to rebuild the barn. You needed to hire new workers to manage the ranch. It could all be solved with money, but the problem is you don’t have much of it.
Ever since your parents died few years ago, your brother took over the management of the estate.
But what can Heeseung do when half of his life was into car racing? Even you don’t know how to run a ranch because your job is making different kinds of delicious bread. Before you and Heeseung could even realize it, the inheritance your parents left you both was slowly falling apart.
And now you and your brother wanted to save the precious land. You would give all the earning from the bakeshop just to make it work, but it was just wasn’t enough. You and Heeseung tried going to the banks, but they turned you down every time you tried. Your brother doesn’t want your house or land as collateral.
You were thankful for the people working for your shop as they wholeheartedly give you their support.
“Thank you for comforting my, guys. Don’t worry, if everything settles down, I’ll definitely throw a party.” They all cheered as you smiled.
You went out to fix the displays in the counter. You didn’t notice someone passing by, making you bump into them.
“I’m sorry,” You apologized, realizing that you bumped into a woman. She quickly brushed off the area you bumped into and gave you a sharp look.
“Next time, watch where you’re going.” She turned to look at the person next to her and whispered.
“Sunghoon, let’s go?”
You felt like you were turned into stone and it looks like Sunghoon felt the same way. It seems like he was frozen in place where he stood, his gaze solely fixed on you.
But it seemed like you’re mistaken because when you looked closely at the man, his face had no expression at all.
He had changed, but not really. He was still the same Sunghoon. Only stronger, leaner, harder, darker, and more attractive. It scared you, he scared you. Yet, you wanted to reach out and talk to him. But to your utter dismay, he just walked past you. And before you knew, he was long gone. Again.
Tumblr media
Sunghoon kept telling himself that he was not a stalker, but it had been five days and this was his fifth time your bakeshop. He just couldn’t go inside. So for those five days, he contented himself with parking in front of your shop, and watching from inside his car.
When he saw you again, he had a big idea in mind, and yes, that was the reason why he kept going to your bakeshop. Sadly, he would always go home without seeing you.
He couldn’t help overhearing the conversation between you and your employees. Their table wasn’t that far from the counter so it was inevitable. He was surprised that you didn’t notice him right away. But if Sunghoon were to talk about surprising things, what he heard was even more surprising.
It looked like karma found its way to Lee Heeseung. He should be happy about it and somehow, he was.
Heeseung took something from him, someone important, so Sunghoon should take someone important from him too.
A sister for a sister. An eye for an eye.
He glanced at his watch and told himself that this should be the perfect time. He got out of his car and walked straight towards the bakeshop. It was already past eight o’clock, but the bakeshop was still almost full.
He noticed the two service crew he saw last time, staring at him, but they immediately turned their backs on him. He approached them.
“Told you, the person inside the black car that is always parked in front of the shop isn’t a bad person. Look at him, he’s too handsome to be a bad person.” He heard the girl he assumed the name was Ningning.
“Seriously? Just because someone isn’t physically attractive doesn’t mean they’re a bad person, you know? And not everyone who looks good is automatically good. You’re being too judgmental.” Sunoo rebuked.
“And what thing could he possibly do, huh?” Ningning asked sarcastically.
“Hello? Ever heard of the saying ‘looks can be deceiving’?” Sunghoon tried not to smirk. Because their backs were facing him, they weren’t able to notice him approaching a while ago.
“Excuse me?” He said, gaining attention from the two. Ningning turned around, her eyes slightly widened.
“Yes, Sir? How can we help you?” Despite the surprise, she quickly regained her composure.
Sunghoon gave her a slight smile. “Um, I’m looking for Y/n. Is she here?” He noticed the two exchanged glances as Ningning seemed a bit hesitant before responding.
“May I ask what’s your relation to Miss Y/n, Sir?”
“I’m a friend. I’d like to have a word with her.”
“Miss Y/n is still in her office.” He saw her co-worker elbowed her, but he didn’t pay much attention to it. “If you’d like, you can have a seat while waiting for her.”
“Okay, Thank you.” He said, walking around the shop to find a comfortable seat. And he couldn’t help but to overhear their conversation once again.
“Friend? Then why am I just seeing him now?”
“I don’t know. He seems nice to me even though he looks a bit harsh.”
“Oh well. Good thing Jake is not here or else he might get jealous.”
For some godforsaken reason, he found his heart tightening at the name he just heard. Who was this Jake guy that might get jealous over him? Is it your Suitor? Boyfriend? Fiance? Sunghoon clenched his jaw. Just imagining another man touching a strand of your inky black hair made him feel sick.
He sat on an empty table near the counter and patiently waited there.
“Ningning, Sunoo, I’m leaving. Will you two be alright staying?” Said the enticing voice near the counter. He glanced over and saw you there.
“Call me whenever something happened, alright? I’ll get going.”
“Oh, Y/n! someone is looking for you.” Ningning said before she forgot. Your brows furrowed as you looked Ningning with a puzzled expression.
“Who?”
Sunghoon stood up and spoke. “Me.” He watched your eyes grow wide with shock as he walked towards you. “Can we talk?”
“I… Of course.” You absent-mindedly nodded. You pointed at the room where you came from. “Let’s go to my office.”
The air tensed up the moment you both entered your office. You sat on your chair as Sunghoon took the visitor’s chair. His eyes were trained on your face while you were looking down on your lap. No one dared to speak. It was dead quiet inside the room, a silent standstill.
Sunghoon decided not to make rhings more awkward. “It’s been a while Y/n.” Great, you suck at opening conversations, man. He honestly wanted to smack himself.
You looked up and your eyes met. “Yeah, it has been a while. How are you?” You slightly smiled at him.
“I’m doing great. You? How are you? I heard your having problems at the ranch.” He paused at what he said. It made him wonder if he was rushing the conversation.
“How did you know?” You asked hesitantly. “The town is a small place, Y/n.” She firmly pressed her lips together. For someone sweet and innocent-looking, you could be fiery too.
“Yes, there’s a big problem at the ranch, but it would be solved in no time.”
“Really?” He raised an eyebrow at the intensity he heard in your voice. “According to what I’ve heard, you were having troubles finding the money needed to fix things on your ranch. So, I came here to offer a proposal.” He leaned on the chair and watched your confused face. You were always this transparent, it’s likely that you now think he’s going crazy.
“What proposal?” You asked with confusion written all over your face.
“I will lend the money you need for the ranch, but you have to marry me.” His simple answer seemed like he was just inviting you to go out ang have a picnic. You looked at him with an unreadable expression before you respond.
“I’m going to what?!”
“You heard me.” He knew it was unnecessary because she could always reach him if she wanted to. But Sunghoon still took a business card from his wallet and placed it on the table.
“I want you to think about it. Call me whenever you made up your mind.”
You stood up from your seat and looked at him with hard eyes. “If you’re just playing around like you used to do, just leave, Sunghoon. Don’t waste my time.”
He also stood up to remind you of the significant height difference you both had.
“I’m not fooling around, Y/n. I’m dead serious.”
“Then why? Why would you want to marry me?” You asked, still stunned be his offer.
“For revenge, I guess? I’ll lend your dear brother the money to help with the recovery of your ranch. But after that, you will cut ties with him. You can’t meet him nor even talk to him.” He took a deep breath before letting out the next heavy words.
“He took my sister from me, I will take you away from him. It’s my kind of revenge.”
“You’re crazy.”
“Oh, yeah?” He smirked but once again quickly turned serious. “Whose fault is that?”
“Why would you think would I agree to that?” You tilted you chin up, trying to defy him. Too bad, it was futile. The corner of his mouth went up again. “Because you’ve got no other option.”
“You’re insane.”
“Crazy? Insane? Well, maybe you could come up with something more colorful after this.” He grabbed your nape and captured you sinfully pink lips. The table wasn’t able to hinder him from giving you something that would shake your world.
Your heart was pounding as you proceeded to enter your house. You still couldn’t believe what just happened thirty minutes ago. The Sunghoon whom you secretly love, and the friend who suddenly left you and your brother returned to shake up your world once again.
One slap wasn’t enough for what he did to you. And he has the audacity to be the one walking out after his recklessness.
You touched your lips. Until now, you still feel the young man’s kiss and the warmth of his lips brushing against yours. It was a shocking first time and definitely a memorable one. But despite all that, you felt butterflies in your stomach.
You took a deep breath before walking to the kitchen to get something to drink. But on your way, your gaze drifted towards the study room. The room was slightly ajar. You approached and entered.
You saw your brother sitting on the swivel chair with his eyes closed. He looks beat and tired and it pained you. If there’s only something you could do to help solve this problem, you had already done it.
Then it hit you. You could do something to help you dear brother and fix the problem. Only, there was a price to pay.
It has already been ten years since Sunghoon’s sister died. Maybe it’s time for you to do something to make him forgive your brother and move on. Maybe you could at least give him a bit of happiness, maybe you could do something to bring him back to his old self.
You glanced at your brother. Please, trust me on this.
It would be hard, you knew. But you needed to do something to save them all.
Tumblr media
“We’re here,” Sunghoon announced. “Nervous?”
You looked out the car window and surveyed the grand mansion that would become your new home. Your heart was racing, and you felt like your heartbeat was at one hundred and seventy bars per minute. You felt nauseous, your hands were badly sweating and you were having a hard time breathing.
No, you weren’t nervous. You were having an anxiety attack.
Sunghoon unbuckled your seatbelt before holding your face with both hands, waiting for to look into his eyes. His eyes were dark and sensual. Nope, it didn’t help you calm down a bit.
“Are you okay? You look pale.” He asked with concern in his voice. He felt your forehead and neck as if checking if you had a fever.
You felt electricity ran through your body because of his touch. Feeling as if you were burning, you pulled away from him and averted your gaze somewhere else.
“I’m fine. It’s just that, this was all so sudden.” You noticed his expression darken from the corner of your eyes.
“Then get used to it because you’re my wife starting today.”
Before you could even respond, he already exited the car and opened the passenger side door for you. He took the duffle bag containing a few pieces of your clothes. He then held your hand as you both walked towards the mansion.
“Don’t be so stiff, Y/n. There’s no way I would hurt you, you know?”
You knew Sunghoon was telling the truth, but it wasn’t enough to calm you down. He wouldn’t hurt you, he said. Still, he had the power to, especially now that you were married.
It all happened so fast. Just last week you were still a Lee, and you still couldn’t believe that you are now Mrs. Park.
After that night, you went to your bakery and called Sunghoon the next morning. And a week later, you were now married. No entourage, reception or whatsoever.
After the civil wedding with the judge that Sunghoon knew, you went straight to the mansion, you didn’t even manage to say goodbye to your brother who was currently not in korea.
At the mansion’s door, you were both greeted by Aunt Chul, the house keeper. Sunghoon and his sister had nannies when they were children, but they remained closest to the woman.
“Dear!” Aunt Chul greeted you as she gave you a warm hug, then gently held your face as she pulled away.
“How are you? It has been so long and you grew beautifully, Dear.”
Despite everything, you were able to put a happy and genuine smile on your face. “Thank you, Auntie. I’m doing great, and you?”
“Oh, I’m not getting any younger, dear! I think I can count the remaining black hairs I have left.” The woman joked, laughing slightly.
“You still look great, Auntie.” You smiled at her, shaking you head slightly.
“You’re still the same old playful one, aren’t you?” she teased. “Now come get inside, I prepared you both something to eat.”
She turned to Sunghoon and looked at him. “Let me take that bag, son.”
“Oh, no. We can handle this, Auntie. Thank you.” He said embracing the elderly person.
“My wife and I are just going to have a talk before we eat.” You froze when you heard him say the word ‘wife’. Yes, there’s no mistaking it. You really are Park Sunghoon’s wife.
When you glanced at the woman, there’s not a trace of surprise marred her serene face, which puzzled you.
“Alright, you know where to go when you two want to eat.” She smiled softly.
Sunghoon guided you upstairs to the room where you’re staying.
The room was definitely Sunghoon, very neat and manly. The walls were painted white, accommodating the rich hue of the big bed and built-in cabinets. Everything was well placed and clean.
“You may find my room dull and boring.” He said as he placed your bag on the side of the dresser. “But you may refurnish it however you like. Have the walls painted, the curtains changed. Just don’t put too much pink.”
You blushed at what he said, you were a girl who has a deep obsession with color pink ever since. And it seems like he still remembers that about you. But as much as you wanted to renovate the room and make it appear more your style, you wouldn’t do so. You liked the room as it was.
You didn’t notice Sunghoon approaching, so you gasped when you felt your husband pulling you by the waist closer to him.
“Let’s talk.”
“Y-yes, of course – Sunghoon!” You let out a small scream as the strong man lifted you up, and you had no choice but to wrap your arms around his shoulders.
“Sunghoon, what the hell are you doing?”
“I was supposed to carry you over the threshold, but I knew that you would snap at me if Aunt Chul sees us.” He answered with a gorgeous grin on his face. For a minute, he looked like the boy you used to know.
The guy you used to love.
But no matter how handsome the young man appeared to you now, you still couldn’t stop the seething the anger in your heart towards him.
“And you think I wouldn’t do that now? I did that once before, I could do it again.”
“Oh, trust me. I’m more prepared this time.” He said with a twinkle in his eyes. He dropped you onto the bed and hovered above you. You gasped for air when you felt his hard body on top of yours. You were sure that when you entered this room, the AC was on, but for some reason the air became thick and hot and filled with desire.
“I t-thought we’re going to talk?” Your voice was shaky and far different from you challenging voice earlier.
“We are. We’ll talk like this.” He lowered his head and nestled into your neck. You had never been intimate with any man. This was new to you. Your heart was beating wildly and you afraid Sunghoon would hear it.
You felt so warm, it was as if your bones were melting. It felt good to be this close to him. And he had been hugging you for a while now. He was the only man who could make you feel extreme emotions.
“I told them about us.” You heard him mumble, his hot breath licking your cold neck.
“You… what?” You asked, disoriented.
“I told everyone in this house about us. Even my dad that’s currently in Japan.” He lifted his head and looked at you as if you as if he wanted to know what you were thinking, if not to absorb your very soul.
“You told them about our agreement?”
“No, I only told them that we were getting married. That I couldn’t wait about Dad’s arrival. That we saw each other again, and instantly fell in love. So make sure to be a loving wife to me, especially in front of them.”
As if he needed to say it. “Of course. But I hope you don’t forget about the other part of the agreement. The money, Sunghoon. I need it.”
“I didn’t forget about that. I’ll give it to your brother as soon as I see him.”
“Glad to hear tha—“
Sunghoon slowly lowered his head, your eyes widened. “Wait, what are you-“
“You’re mine, Y/n. Including your body.” He said with his tempting mouth.
You wanted to stop him and tell him to stop what he was doing, but no words came out of your lips. Instead, a sound coming from your stomach halted your husband’s advances. You didn’t know whether to feel embarrassed or thankful. You were saved, not by the bell, but by your tummy.
God! Sunghoon didn’t need to smile, amusement was in his eyes.
“Maybe we should eat first.” Sunghoon withdrew from being pressed against you, stood up, and extended his hand towards you.
“Come.” You hesitantly took his hand and stood up as well, feeling quite embarrassed.
“Do you still know the way to the dining room?” He asked as you refused to meet his gaze, just nodding in response.
“Do you mind going there alone? I just needed to call someone. I’ll join you in a few minutes.”
You just nodded again and quickly left the room. Usually, after the wedding comes the honeymoon. Or in your case, funnymoon.
The moment you—or rather, his wife—stepped outside, Sunghoon finally let go of the smile he had been holding back.
Yes, you had become matured and become tough over the past few years, but in many ways, you still hadn’t really changed. You were still funny, cute, adorable, and his.
His previously bright face was now replaced by a blank expression. Finally, Heeseung would experience what it was like to lose someone important to him. The only difference is that no one would die.
He wouldn’t hurt you, at least, not intentionally ang physically. Never. Heeseung was still lucky that Sunghoon had some semblance of a heart left.
All he wanted was to emotionally torture him. He would make his heart bleed in sorrow, until he would beg him to stop.
And that would start now.
He picked up his phone and dialed a number. On the third ring, the person he was trying to reach answered.
“Yes, hello?”
His grip on the device tightened upon hearing the voice of the man he despises.
“Heeseung.”
He could taste the bitterness in his own voice. The man on the other line wasn’t able to respond immediately, so he continued.
“I heard you’re not in korea right now.”
“No, I’m not. What do you need, Sunghoon?”
He asked directly, without preamble.
Nothing, you’re the one who’s going to need something from me.
“Nothing, really. But if I were you, I’d go back to korea right now.”
He could already see the furrow on his former friend’s face. Soon he would face his range, but instead of being afraid, he would actually be glad to see it.
“What do you mean by that?”
“It’s Y/n. She left your house and she’s with me now. Too bad you weren’t there when she left.”
It was a shame for Sunghoon the he couldn’t see firsthand how the person on the other line is reacting.
He bet it would be priceless.
“You son of a bitch. What did you do to her?!”
He heard the grinding of his interlocutor’s teeth making him chuckle sarcastically.
“You asshole!”
“Yeah, Heeseung. Curse me all you want, but I’ll make sure that you will never get see your sister again. I will make you pay for all the things you did. Prepare yourself because I will take you to the hell you put me through.”
He ended the call. With his hands shaking, he exhaled sharply. He forced himself to calm down before he began to walk out of the room.
Maybe he shouldn’t have gone to the dining room just yet. He’s still feeling the anger coursing through his body, and he didn’t want anyone to see him like that, especially you.
But when he saw your beautiful face with a smile plastered on it while chatting with Aunt Chul, the heavy emotions enveloping him suddenly dissipated.
While looking at you glowing face, he lost the bitterness and pain that he had been feeling. Your bright smile simply made the pain go away. He was certain of what he was feeling. About his fear ang pain going away.
He took a deep breath once again ang approached the two, specifically you. He leaned down and kissed you on the forehead, disregarding the watchful eyes of the elderly person nearby.
“What are you two talking about?” He asked. Aunt Chul smiled at him and seemed to chat with him like a child.
“I never knew Y/n had a bakeshop in town. If I’m not mistaken, one of the helpers bought the bread I liked there. Turns out Y/n was the owner.”
He sat beside you and held your hand, giving it a tight squeeze. “Yeah, her pastries and sweets are indeed famous in town.” He stated, smiling proudly.
“Y/n also told me the she hasn’t had a boyfriend. She had suitors, but didn’t accept any of them.” The woman gossiped.
“Auntie!” You playfully reprimanded the her.
Sunghoon threw a glance at you. “Oh?”
His face lit up, secretly smiling to himself. So it was likely that the guy named Jake whom your employees were referring to was you suitor. He suddenly felt relieved. He glanced at your plate that is still empty.
“You haven’t eaten yet?” He asked you as you shook your head in response.
“Not yet. I was busy chatting with auntie.”
“Tell you what, Sunghoon. Your wife was just really waiting for you to come here.” Aunt Chul remarked.
“Alright, I’ll leave you two love birds alone to enjoy your food.”
Once the two of you were left alone, Sunghoon couldn’t help but let a smile spread across his face.
“So, you were waiting for me, huh?” He said teasingly.
“I wasn’t waiting for you. The conversation with Auntie just really hit the spot.”
“Yeah, sure. Let’s eat.”
They ate in silence. You sat beside him quietly with your head bowed as you eat. You were like some kind of a shy teenager sitting next to her crush.
Sunghoon smiled a little as he remembered their happy memories. You were just like this back then when you two are being teased together. You would blush furiously and he just enjoy the teasing.
“I’ll go upstairs to take a shower ang get changed.” You said after he was done eating.
But before you could fully stand up, he pulled you back into the chair and bestowed a gentle kiss on your lips.
“Please don’t tempt me like that.” Your eye widened and your lips parted in surprise. Your face reddened and he couldn’t stop himself from grinning. You quickly stood up and rushed away from him.
Well, it was useless since no matter what you do, you were already his. Nothing could ever separate you from him, not even your brother.
Sunghoon’s smile faded, and his eyes grew cold.
You would be forever his, and you had no idea of what the future lies ahead of you.

I'm thinking about His Dark Materials again. Specifically the societal quirks that Lyra's world has as a result of everyone having their soul manifested outside their body in the form of dæmons. It's one of the most fascinating examples of worldbuilding I've come across tbh
Some of my most favourite tidbits:
Dæmons are named by the dæmons of the child's parents
It's taboo to touch another person's dæmon, but this is learnt, not instinctual
Children often settle arguments through their dæmons, with one accepting the dominance of the other (eg. Pan hissing at Annie's fox daemon in the first book to get her to back down)
The fact that people can tell when someone lacks a daemon even though they can be hidden out of sight (like a mouse in your pocket)
To the inhabitants of Lyra's world, looking at someone without a dæmon is like looking at someone without a head
These extra pieces of lore just make the world seem so magical but believable at the same time

AITA for telling my friend to give up their collection?
Cast for this post:
Me (25F)
The friend, Mimi (27F)
Mimi's boyfriend, Paul (28M)
My niece, Annie (8F)
My sister, Nancy (34F)
My brother, Tedd (29M)
Mimi keeps a collection of Sanrio things that is mostly made up of Cinnamoroll. She had gotten some of the Cinnamoroll plushies from Paul when he went to Japan. The sentiment is sweet, but it feels odd for that Mimi is still collecting this stuff. Mimi tends to her collection a lot, bushing the plushes so they look pristine and are free of dust, and dusting off the area so everything always looks clean. It feels a bit excessive.
Since Mimi is also friends with Nancy and Tedd, sometimes they go over to her house. Annie saw the Sanrio collection and was amazed by it. She wanted to have some of the same things Mimi had, but they weren't available to get anymore since some were for limited time only.
I had asked Mimi if she would be willing to let Annie have one of the plushies. Mimi answered with a yes, but did not let Annie chooses what she wanted. Instead Mimi just handed her one of the generic Hello Kitty plushies. Annie seemed distraught, but Mimi didn't even bother asking her if that was okay for her. She just excused herself and shooed everyone out of the room she kept the collection, locking the door behind her. She hardly paid any attention to the tears forming in Annie's eyes.
Nancy and Tedd decided we should leave before it got too dark out since they lived farther away. (They don't live together, but are neighbors). And Nancy didn't want to have Annie cry in front of Mimi.
When I was leaving with Nancy and Tedd, Annie started crying while we were in the car. She had said she hadn't wanted Hello Kitty, she wanted Cinnamoroll instead. Tedd thought it would be funny to say "well you can't get everything you want! Don't be spoiled." And started laughing about it. That made Annie start crying more. And Nancy got annoyed with Tedd because Annie was not spoiled in anyway.
Over the next few days, Annie was anything but her normal cheerful self. I was upset about that, so I went to speak with Mimi. I asked her if it was possible for her to let go of one of the Cinnamoroll plushies and give it to Annie. Mimi refused because those were gifts from Paul and she wouldn't be able to get them again.
I argued that she was an adult and that Annie was a child. It made more sense for someone as young as Annie to be having a Sanrio collection, but for Mimi? Mimi was an adult and should have grown out of her Sanrio collection and moved on to something else. It was selfish for her to disregard a child's feelings when all Mimi did with the plushies was let them sit on a shelf to be stared at. At least Annie would show them love and care.
Mimi started yelling at me, and Paul had to intervene when Mimi slapped me. He told me to leave and that I was being an asshole for telling Mimi she shouldn't be collecting this stuff. I left and haven't spoke to them much. Now Mimi won't even let anyone else into her collection room whenever we go visit. Whenever Annie asks, Mimi always tells her she is not allowed in there which ruins Annie's mood.
I know I was harsh with what I said, but I stand by what I said. Mimi is too old to be collecting Sanrio stuff. She should just let go of it and let Annie have it.
AITA?
What are these acronyms?

Percy Jackson x Daughter of Amphitrite reader
n/a:some fluff, percy being a stalker, y/n being just a girl, mentions of greek mythology, AMPHITRITE RAAAAAAHHHH
yeah! i love her, she is my mother, self indulgent? maybe, aged-up characters, mentions of sTalking but nothin' super dark, this is nothing like i'am used to writte! enjoy muack muack.
sorry for not writting in litteral month, y'know, not inspired like- never, i hope you'd like this!
Words: 1202
Reading Time: 4m 22s.
˖°𓇼🌊⋆🐚˖°𓇼🌊⋆🐚˖°𓇼🌊⋆🐚˖°𓇼🌊⋆🐚˖°𓇼🌊⋆🐚˖°𓇼🌊⋆🐚
when she first arrived at the camp, she was..like a normal girl, nothing special! but.. the way she smiles, how she is so gentle with nature, and the thing that got his attention in first place, was the fact that she spent so much time in the lake, looking at the water but never, never touching it or going to swim at least.
And when the camp was at the bonfire, she always was in the lake, he obviously never talked to her! but there was something more in her that make him so attracted to her, she wasn’t claimed yet, maybe she was an athena daughter, or an aphrodite child tho, maybe a demeter daughter, she was still in hermes cabin, I was thinking while zooming out in her direction, until Annabeth wake me up from my delusions.
‘’Hey, seaweed brain! Why are you looking at her? that’s creepy..’’ she says, almost laughing at him, she was reading a new book that chiron translated to her, but when percy stopped yapping about how bored he was, she caught him.
Looking at the most recent camper y/n l/n, a very sweet girl, very kind with the kids and a very energetic demigod, she was sitting by the side of the lake, on a towel, the shadow of the trees heading at the lake covering her almost completely, reading and talking to the girls and boys who pass by her side.
‘’mmh? What are you saying annie? didn’t hear you..’’ he says, automatically, he can’t stop his curiosity to show up in every moment, or in every moment he sees her, almost like magic.
‘I WAS saying , stop looking at her, se will think you are a weirdo and probably wouldn’t talk t you..even she does-’’ she was going to start augmenting that, that girl didn’t know he existed, well she probably knew who the amazing percy jackson was, but had no idea how, he was.
‘’Stop Annie, I just don’t know how to talk to her, you know? it’s like- i need to talk to her but i don’t know why i can’t talk to her, and yeah, maybe she doesn’t not know me, but either i know her!.’’ He expressed his frustration to her best friend, and he did know why he didn’t talk to her. The shame of ruining it or not making a good impression terrorizes him.
‘’don’t mortified perce, what if she likes you back mmh?’’
For the rest of the day, Annabeth's words rested in his head all day.
and, a month since that conversation has passed, just like that lake water, she was in the same spot, doing what she was doing a month before, but something was new, this time it was late, she was using a blue bikini, with a white shirt on top, and reading, he hesitated his actions for a moment, but ¿if wasn’t this the right moment, when the right moment began?
and, doubting, in every step he’d take, he walked  by her side, and it all started with a ‘’hey, are you always here?’’ like he never stalked her, in annabeth's words, and a cute friendship began..yeah friendship.
Now, both of them were sitting in a calurus day, not even the shadow of the trees could make them cool. It was late again, like 6:25 pm, everyone was on the lake, refreshing and trying to have a good time while helios wanted to burn them.
‘’we should step on the water, and..y’know.. swim i’am burning here N/n’’ he spoke, groaning, trying to catch ‘’his girl’’ attention, but she frowned,
‘’why? the water probably is warm and we are gonna burn, sun causes cancer perce, did you bring sunscreen?’’
she put her book down, looking at him while sitting and grabbing something from his backpack.
‘’Why in the world would I need sunscreen? I’am son of poseidon! that sound ridiculous y/n.’’
‘’Well, I have no godly mother but I need sunscreen. I don't want a sunburn.’’
she says while putting sunscreen in her face, arms, legs and stomach.
‘’so..are we going to swim or nah?’’
and both of them walked into the water, the sun wasn’t strong and in fact, the water was warm, there weren't a lot of campers, most of them were in his cabins, or doing his duties, no one was prepared for it.
percy was looking at her while she was swimming and heading her back at him, she summergerd and take a pair of seconds to come back to the surface, and, in above his lover’s head, appear a trident, upside down, with a seashell crown, illuminated by a slightly bluish light.
he was speechless, then she saw it, and looked up, she gasped in surprise and horror, as a deep voice talked, Chiron, repeating.
‘’welcome to the camp, Y/n L/n, daughter of Amphitrite, goddess of the sea, consort of poseidon’’
he looked at her, he was more shocked than her, but she was having s lot of emotions, she laughed, the she cried, and at the end she was angry, she was hitting the water, and murmuring between her teeth, but she started stomping out of the water, all angry.
‘’h-hey, wait f’me y/n!’’ he start walking of the water, but she didn’t run away, she sat on the towel as she looked at the water, slowly moving with the air.
‘’are you okay? how’d you feel?’’
‘’i feel like a dam truck ran me over’’
he smiled and sat by her side, trying to comfort her, he hugged her all wet.
‘’why you feel like that mmhh? i know, it’s hard when you first find out, but believe me, is not that bad’’
but she sighed, and lean over his shoulder.
‘’i don’t..know, it feels odd…maybe that’s why the ocean call me, or whatever she did..’’
‘’what are you- she call, you?’’
‘’something like that, she called me ‘’my little starfish, come with mama’’ i thought  it was someone who wanted to drown me’’
He laughed, and kissed her temple. He felt like he could do it, well her mother and his father were married..so..eh better not think of it.
but she laughed, but she came back to her sad expression.
‘’but amphitrite is a minor goddess, she doesn’t have a cabin, where the heck i'm sleeping at?’’
‘’Well, your mother and my father are married, both god and goddess from the sea, so we are like, half siblings or we’re married-?’’
she hitted his arm, laughing and blushing.
‘’let’s go to our cabin perce, i'm getting cold’’
she says as she stands up, grabbing her tote bag and the towel, heading back to the camp.
‘’but first let's get dinner, i'm hungry’’
‘’of course, miss starfish’’
‘’shut up, seaweed brain’’.
and both start walking, side by side, holding each others hand, maybe, it was just like the myth.

I had another idea in regards to Percy or Percabeth. So, in House of Hades, we see Percy literally control a goddesses tears & poison to pretty much kill her before she can kill him & Annabeth; the only reason he doesn’t kill her is because Annabeth doesn’t want either of them to endure the potential consequences of what killing a goddess could entail— some people have said she was scared of Percy, but others said she was more scared for Percy. Either way, imagine if Percy did something like this again, but to one of the reader’s (gender neutral or male, and I’m thinking child of Apollo or Aphrodite, something like that) friends or siblings or something, and Annabeth doesn’t stop him; maybe the reader tried to break up with them, or just did something that made Percabeth feel the reader needed to be taught a lesson. Obviously this would be dark/yandere Percabeth again as opposed to normal cause y’know, they’d never do something like that unless they were crazy. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to read this and write my different requests & ideas; have a great day :)

Misery the Truest Way of Love
A/n hope you enjoy, it’s been a while since I’ve read house of hades so I hope most of this is right, if not it’s the magic of this fic. No problem, I’m working on the other one, I just haven’t had much time to watch tv as of late. Also reader has hair.
Warnings: Death, Yandere behaviors, Anxiety, Choking, murder as a use of punishment
Anon - 🪑
All Characters are aged up to 18 plus
Yandere Percabeth x Gender neutral! Reader
The choking noises of Sorian as she chocked on her own blood. Y/n dropped to the ground as their body quivered. Percy’s eyes burned with a furry Y/n had never seen before. Annabeth moved to Y/n’s side and griped their shoulders tightly.
“Per…..Percy sto-p…” Y/n’s voice comes out hoarse and rough. Annabeth keeps a strong grip on Y/n as she watches Percy. Percy doesn’t stop as Sorian claws at her throat her treat pouring out of her sullen eyes. Y/n tried to shrug Annabeth off themself but she held tightly. Y/n looked up at Annabeth, their eyes filled with fear. Sorian dropped as blood pooled from her mouth. Y/n tried to get out of Annabeths iron grip but to no avail.
“Please! Stop it! She hasn’t done anything!”
Percy let out a noise of disappointment and shock his head softly. His hair bounced softly as he sent his charming boyish smile. Annabeth hummed softly petting Y/n’s hair. Sorian gurgled as she began to go red.
“Hasn’t done anything? Come on Sunshine.” Percy paused her playful tone turning sinister. “Wasn’t little miss Sorian trying to convince you to break up with us?”
Y/n froze as Annabeth’s hands dug into their scalp. Y/n whispered in pain as Annabeth tugged onto their hair.
“You wouldn’t have listened to her? Would you?” Annabeth taunted softly. Percy shot a quick look to Annabeth and she quickly released her grip on Y/n’s hair. Percy didn’t want to hurt Y/n, their little sunshine just needed to learn to be good. That’s all, and if the lesson could be learned by getting rid of Sorian, then that would be the lesson.
“N-no, I wouldn’t have listened! Please, Perc…. Annie… please stop!” Y/n pleaded with her lovers. Sorian’s skin went purple and Y/n tried to claw Annabeth off her. Annabeth and Percy shared a smile and the Sorian stopped moving. She stopped choking. Sorian just stopped.
Annabeth let go of Y/n and allowed them to crawled over to their dead sister. Y/n’s tears cloudier her eyes as she held tightly onto their older sister.
“Don’t cry baby, Sorian was trying to keep you away from us.” Annabeth comforted softly and she kissed Percy’s cheek. Percy leaned down kissing under Y/n’s chin, he licked at their salty tears with a smirk.
“Sunshine, don’t you understand. You’re ours, and nothing will keep you from us.”
With Percy’s words Y/n could only think misery is the truest form of love.

Everything was bright, the day an endless dawn that rested its rosy cheek on the glass that covered the earth and touched the spot between reality and dreams.
You felt the stirrings of that feeling as you leaned on the porch railing, hair falling over one shoulder and tickling your wrist. The wood was grainy and smooth under your palm, and you shifted from one foot to the other, dulling the ache brought on by the activities of the day. It was a happy thing, borne of the many joys present in your life.
Off in the distance, by the oak tree that sprouted thick and wide, with leaves that blocked the sun on summer afternoons, your daughter sat among the knotted roots, playing quietly by herself. You had always said Annie was born content, evident in the way she minded herself, preferring long daylight hours spent alone. It was a touching thing, how comfortable she was within the confines of her imagination.
Bootsteps thumped on the wood of the porch, the boards creaking under Billy's weight, and then a pair of warm hands were creeping around your waist like the vines that crawled up the walls of the house, pulling you in. You smiled, leaning back and finding his body less than a breath away. He ducked his head and pressed a kiss to your cheek, the gentle prickling of love lingering long after. "How's my wife?"
Five years you'd been married, and still you could hear the way he relished the word like a sweet melting on his tongue. Billy wore his ring proudly, brandishing it for all the world to see. The gunslinger feared far and wide across the south was tied down, and he was happy for it.
You had been pleasantly surprised by how well he took to domesticity after so long on the run. He'd built this house for the two of you, every nail hammered in establishing permanence. It had been a rare luxury for him before, even when you'd met. But he'd proudly given you the brass key to your new house, sweeping you into his arms to carry you over the threshold even though you'd been married for a year at that point.
Now, standing on the porch built with your husband's own hands, sheathed in his arms, you could practically feel the love he'd siphoned into every board, every wall. Billy hadn't only built you a house, he'd built a life. All those nights holding him, promising him he wasn't ruining yours had come to fruition. It had been clear when your belly had begun to swell with his child, a promise of tomorrow. And it was clear now, as you watched that little girl hum to herself under the tree that had been a mere sapling when you'd first moved in.
The first breaths of spring were opening the world up again, sunshine kissing your skin and whispering about new beginnings. It instilled a sense of hope in you, something beautiful brimming with joy. This was your favorite time of year.
"I'm good," you responded to Billy, holding one of his hands against your stomach. "Really good."
He kissed the top of your head, swaying the two of you back and forth. "Should we go inside?" Billy nosed at your neck. "Think you need a little lovin'..."
You laughed, turning around in his arms and pressing your cheek to his chest. "With Annie out here?"
"Aw, she won't come inside 'till it's past dark and we make her." You could hear his smile in his words, and you lifted your chin, tilting your head and letting your hair brush his hands on your waist.
"Hm, maybe you're right," you murmured, reaching up and playing with his collar, straightening it out.
Billy ducked his head to catch your lips in a brief, tender kiss. He pecked your lips once after. "Just make sure to be quiet."
"I'm not the one who-oh-!" Suddenly you were being hauled up, lifted to hang over his shoulder like a sack of flour. He laughed quietly, not wanting to disturb Annie out in the distance, carrying you through the door of the house and shutting it gently. Your hair obstructed your view, and you parted the silky curtain when he bent, setting you down on your feet and grabbing your hand.
"C'mon, pretty-" Billy paused, looking at you and squeezing your palm. "Baby? You okay?"
You were frozen, eyes wide with a sudden realization of the happenings within you. Your skin was icy hot, a blizzard and a wildfire blended into a raging storm that ravaged at your chest. It tore into your bones, filled them with a cloud of dread. Something's wrong.
Billy came closer, blue eyes struck with concern as he searched yours. "Sweetheart...what-?"
Your knees buckled, weakness spreading in a swarm that enveloped your body. Now you were tumbling, poised to hit the ground before Billy's arms caught you, his voice speaking your name over and over like a prayer. "Honey...what's wrong?"
No words found you, only blackness.
Tumblr media
The doctor was summoned quicker than Billy thought possible, and he thanked the heavens above for the man's swiftness. You insisted he stay with Annie while you were being examined, and he suspected it was for his own sake as well as your daughter's.
Annie was quiet, staring at the door you were behind. It felt ominous in that moment, and he tore his eyes from the sight. His knee was bouncing, heel of his boot tapping the floor over and over. The voices in your room were muffled, and Billy wished he hadn't listened to you.
The sun was setting now, smearing a palette of color across the sky and shadowing the clouds in hues of orange and pink. He ran a tired hand through his hair, weary already from whatever news awaited.
He reached wordlessly for his daughter, and she crawled into his lap, head resting against his chest. Billy didn't know what to say to her, and so he chose silence. He was grateful for her old-soul tendencies, but also wished she was still naive enough that she was oblivious. More than anything he wanted Annie to be able to be a kid, to be able to forget her mother's distress and go out to play.
He wasn't sure what he was expecting. The way you had collapsed so suddenly worried him beyond belief. That was the way it had all started with his mother. And now she was no more than a shadow, a memory haunting him.
When the door opened, he shooed those thoughts from his mind, standing and lifting Annie to sit on his hip. The doctor appeared, bag in hand, expression grim. He nodded once at Billy, gesturing to the room. "We'll talk in a minute."
Billy offered half a nod before rushing in to you, Annie in his arms. The sight of you nearly stopped him in his tracks. Paler than a ghost, nearly the color of the sheets you laid atop.
When you noticed them, a sweet smile brightened your face, and you reached out, beckoning. "Annie."
He set his daughter down, and she ran to you, burying her face in your chest. You hugged her tight, kissing the top of her head. "Sweet girl. Are you okay?"
Annie mumbled something Billy couldn't make out. He was still, like a statue caught in time's grip.
Nothing was going to be the same. He had that thought over and over in the next few weeks.
It was a symphony of the same scenes over and over again. Your illness took hold of you, settled into your bones and became all that had been you. That version of you was replaced with a feverish imposter, weaker than a newborn foal. You still laughed often, but it was a dull, raspy sound that panged at Billy's heart.
He clung to hope that somehow you would pull out of it. That by the grace of a miracle one day he would wake up, and you'd be looking back at him, saying you felt better.
The opposite persisted. Every time you awoke in the throes of a fever, tossing and turning until he wound his arms around you, he felt you slipping away. It pounded at his chest, an awful realization he ignored in the hopes that it would prove wrong. He shut it out, hiding his face in your hair, holding on tight and wishing, praying, pleading.
You seemed oblivious to it, though you were feeble and listless most days. Still, you smiled, hugged your daughter, kissed him. You were bedridden, but still your spirits were high as the heavens. Even now, as you read quietly beside him, thumbing through the little book with the red cover you so adored, he swore he saw glimpses of you before the sickness that had eaten away at your being.
Billy was absentmindedly stroking your side, lost in thought. He kissed your temple. "Why don'tcha rest for a bit, sweetheart? You can read more when you're better."
He reached his hand out for the book, and you waited a moment before handing it over, letting him set it on your nightstand beside the vase of dried flowers, petals withering away. They had been a gift from Annie, picked in the field not too far from the oak tree.
You settled limply against his chest, fingers rubbing up and down his stomach softly. Your quiet spoke magnitudes, things Billy wasn't sure he was ready to hear.
"I'm not going to get better," you whispered, though the quiet did nothing to dull the sting your words ensued. He felt a tide of panic begin to crash, and immediately ran the other way.
"Shh, don't say that," he murmured, squeezing your shoulder. "You'll be better in no time. Just needa rest, baby."
"Billy-" you sat up, lifting your head from his chest. He tried to pull you back down, but you shook your head. "We need to talk about this."
"No. No." Billy looked away, dread crawling over his insides. He felt as though he were in the middle of an ocean, waiting for it to swallow him up. "You have to get better. I need you-"
"You're going to be okay," you promised, taking his face in your hands and turning it back to you. "It's gonna be okay."
He was struggling for air. "It can't...I can't...how am I supposed to do a damn thing without you? I can't..." Tears were pricking at his eyes, threatening to spill over. "Baby..."
"I need you to be there for Annie. She'll have questions," you murmured, making sure he was looking at you. "She's gonna need you."
"I need you," he whispered, arms tightening around you. "I can't do this without you. I can't raise her. I-" Billy swallowed thickly. "I can't live without you."
"You still have me," you said softly, and he could see tears in your own eyes now. "You have Annie. She is me. She's got all the good parts of both of us, none of the bad."
"There were never any bad parts of you," Billy breathed, and you took in a breath, smiling in a bittersweet way.
"Promise me you'll be there for her," you said, voice firm despite your gentle hold. "Please."
"I promise," he managed, biting the side of his cheek. "Baby-" An unborn cry cut him off, and he looked down, squeezing his eyes shut. Everything he'd tried to avoid had him pinned down now, shaking his shoulders and screaming at him to wake up.
You took in a breath, pulling him closer, down so his head was on your chest. He clung to you, feeling like a child. Your fingers stroked his hair, delicately roving through his curls in an attempt to soothe. Billy only let himself cry then, tears soaking the front of your nightdress. You breathed, "Oh, Billy," and he fisted your bodice, trying not to imagine what things would be like if you were no longer here.
When you were no longer here.
He wasn't ready. How can anybody ever be ready?
Grief hunted him down, made him miss you before he was gone. It stripped the skin from his bones, buried itself into his being and filled the spot where you were. He couldn't remember how it had felt before.
You were slipping away too quickly, and he was grasping for you, milking every second he was allowed. This was a familiar notion- he'd known it before, so he'd thought. But it was different now. You were a new love, one he'd embraced wholeheartedly. He'd given up everything to be with you and done it gladly. You were the center of the life he'd built so far from the land of outlaws and wanted posters. You were epitome of everything good and pure in the world.
Had his sins truly been so unforgivable that you were now being taken from him? Was he so far from absolvable? Billy had repented with every second since he'd met you, knowing that men who kept doing bad things didn't get to keep women like you. It had all been for naught now, because you were turning into memory.
"Give Daddy extra love, okay?" you whispered to Annie, holding her in a tight hug despite your growing weakness. "He's gonna be sad for a while. Can you give him love for me?"
Annie nodded, and you kissed her forehead, squeezing her to your side one last time. You said one last soft thing to her, and she nodded, leaving your side and shutting the door behind her when she went into the other room.
When she was gone, you gave him a tired smile, one that told him everything he needed to know. Billy crawled in beside you, pulling you to lean against his chest. He felt tears wet his shirt, unsure if they were yours or his.
"I don't want to die," you whispered, the pain in your voice making him want to sink into the earth.
Billy squeezed you, tears raining into your hair. "I know. I know, angel."
"I don't want to leave you." Your hand found his, winding fingers together and clenching.
He felt the lonely rise of grief's dull ache seize him again. "I know, angel." Billy's lips parted, something he both wanted and didn't want to say lingering between them. It escaped before he could think further. "Just rest. We're...we're gonna be okay. You can sleep now. I'll hold you the whole time."
"Billy-" you were grasping, breathing faint. He could see life draining from you, your body growing heavy.
"Shh," he whispered, tears like rivers down his cheeks. He brushed them aside, sitting up and pulling you into his lap, so your head was resting against his shoulder. He was still in one piece, strong for you as he rocked you steadily, holding you tight. Love...that was what you needed right now. To know you were loved.
He wouldn't fall apart yet. Not when you were still here for now, clinging to him and holding on for every moment you could squeeze out. Billy leaned down and kissed you tenderly, trying to convey every bit of what had always been yours. His heart. "I love you."
Your body relaxed, and sunbeams spotlit the floor through the windows. He could hear birds outside, singing their merry tunes. It was the birth of summer, the sister of spring. Your essence alone existed in these few months, and it would echo at him for the rest of his days.
Billy held you close as your expression grew peaceful. The veil separating life and death was thin, and you were answering its call. He whispered over and over like a mantra. "I love you. I love you. I love you."
Your body went still.
And now he fell apart.

The Tutor part 3
Tumblr media
Master List
Characters: Jensen Ackles x Reader
Warnings: mention of cheating, language, angst, panic attack, mention of phone sex, fluff
A/N: Just a quick idea that popped in my head. A short series, maybe 2 or 3 chapters. I don’t know yet. No disrespect to Jensen or his family. This is a work of fiction. Jensen has children in this, but I do not use their real names.
Reader is a teacher and is asked to tutor Jensen’s child. Things develop between Jensen and the reader. I do not condone cheating, again, this is a work of fiction.
This chapter got a little long. Sorry not sorry. 😀 Please overlook any errors. I wrote this fast and edited it fast.
Minors DNI 18+
The next morning you woke up early. You stretched and reached for Jensen. His side of the bed was empty and your heart sank. Surely he wouldn’t have left without saying goodbye.
You climbed out of bed, threw your clothes on and left the room. The house was still dark and very quiet. As you got to the bottom step you saw Jensen sitting on the deck, coffee in hand, and hair still a mess from sleep. You bit your lip looking at him. You could definitely get used to this view first thing in the morning.
You walked to the door and opened it. Jensen looked up and smiled at you. “Good morning, sweetheart. How did you sleep?” You bent down and kissed his lips, “Good morning baby, I slept amazing. How did you sleep?” “Better than I have in years. Come here darlin’,” he pulled you into his lap. You giggled as you fell. “God I’m going to miss you so much.” Jensen said as he tilted your chin up. “I’m going to miss you too, Jensen.”
“Promise me you’ll call as much as you can. I know filming is crazy, but when you’re able to.” “I can guarantee I will, every chance I can.” He pulled you into a deep kiss.
His phone went off, it was time for him to get ready. Your lips lingered a few minutes longer before you pulled away. You both stood. His eyes were filled with love and sadness. You moved out of his way so he could walk inside.
Your heart was heavy with sadness. You knew he was going to call, but you’d miss his touch. Being here with him and the kids has felt like home. How could you leave? You wanted to stay in this moment with him forever.
“Jensen, wait.” Jensen stopped before he went inside. He turned, facing you. “Yes baby?” “I’ll move into the guest house. I want to be here. Safe and near you. I lo …” You stopped yourself. Jensen looked at you, lifted your chin and placed a searing kiss on your lips. “I’m glad you’re moving in. I’d do anything to keep you safe, and I know baby. I feel it too.”
You took a shaky breath in. You almost said it. Those three little words. You knew you were falling for him. Everything with him was easy and felt incredible.
His thumb rubbed across your cheek before he let you go. “Leaving you will be one of the hardest things I have to do.” You smiled, “I know Jensen, I know.”
Jensen walked in the house and went upstairs to shower and get ready. Walking into the kitchen you started cooking breakfast and making coffee. The kids woke up and came downstairs to eat and see Jensen off. There was a heaviness in the air.
You and the kids had sad faces and Jensen chuckled. “Aww guys, it’s only for a few days. I’ll be back before you know it. I’ll call every night and when I get back I don’t have to go anywhere for a while. We will all be together for the holidays.
Jensen’s daughter, Annie looked at him, “Is mommy coming home soon? For Christmas?” “I’m not sure, baby. I hope so.” Your heart broke for the kids. You knew the marriage was over, but the kids didn’t. They missed their mother.
After breakfast was finished, you made Jensen a cup of coffee to go. He hugged and kissed the kids goodbye. You craved his lips. Biting your lip you looked at him. He pulled you into a hug. It took you by surprise. “Thank you again for keeping them. I owe you.” As he pulled away he placed a kiss on your cheek. “You’re welcome Jensen. I hope you have a great flight and we can’t wait to see you when you come back.”
“Hey guys, can you help dad out for a second. I can’t find my fancy comb. Can y’all please go look for it?” The kids took off. Jensen grabbed you, “that should keep them busy for a few minutes.” He pulled you into a passionate kiss. You moaned into his mouth. As the sound of little feet on the stairs filled the room he pulled away. “Thank you baby” you whispered.
Jensen smiled at you and squeezed your hand. You knew the two of you had to steal a kiss when the kids weren’t around. It would confuse them and cause unneeded problems. You were thankful Jensen made an effort to steal those moments.
The kids ran in the room with a comb in hand. “Oh thank you guys so much!” He pulled all three of them in for a hug. There were tears and his youngest daughter wouldn’t let go of his neck. “Baby, daddy will be home before you know it. You’re going to have such a great time with Ms. Y/N while I’m gone. I heard she’s got cookie dough ready for you guys to make cookies.” She turned and looked at you, you smiled and nodded your head.
She wiggled out of his arms and told him goodbye. “I love you guys so much. I’ll miss you every second I’m gone.” The kids said their goodbyes and I love yous as Jensen grabbed his bag. “You three be good for Ms Y/N.” “We will daddy.”
You walked with Jensen to his car. He grabbed your hand, “I’m going to miss you every second I’m gone too. I love you, Y/N. Hell I know it’s too soon, but I can’t help it. I’m in love with you.” Tears pricked your eyes, “I’m in love with you too, Jensen. I’m going to miss you every second too. I love you baby.” He placed a soft kiss on your lips. “Bye sweetheart. I’ll text you when I land.”
Jensen climbed in his car and as he drove away your heart ached but was so full. Walking back into the house you saw Annie standing near the front door. Your heart beat wildly in your chest. Did she see her dad kiss me? Did she hear us? Oh god, please don’t tell me she saw us.
“Ms. Y/N, is daddy really going to call us every day?” “Yes, sweetie. Daddy just told me he’s going to text when he lands too. He told me earlier he was going to video chat with you guys every night.” “Okay. I miss daddy when he’s gone.” “I know you do sweetie, but he’s going to be home really soon.” “I know. I miss mommy too. She’s never at home anymore.” Your heart clenched at her words. “Well, I don’t know your mommy as well as I know your daddy, but I do know she loves you three very much.”
She gave you a hug and walked away. You walked in the kitchen to start cleaning up. The house phone rang so you answered, “Ackles residence.” “Who is this?” A woman’s voice asked. “This is Y/N. I’m helping Mr. and Mrs. Ackles with the children, may I ask who this is?” “Oh, hey, Y/N. It’s Mrs. Ackles. Has Jensen left for work yet?” “Oh hi Mrs. Ackles, yes he left about 10 minutes ago.” “Okay, great. I’ll be home in about 30 minutes.” “Oh that’s great. The kids have missed you.” “Well I’ll see you guys soon.”
You hung up and was slightly confused. She told Jensen she wouldn’t be back for a week and that’s why you were watching the kids. You didn’t mind watching them, but it still confused you.
Then it hit you. You and Jensen had sex in their bed, and the used condom was in the trash in their bathroom. You ran up the stairs to the bedroom, made the bed and emptied the trash. You threw the bathroom trash into the trash in the kitchen, then took it outside to the trash can.
As you came back inside your phone went off.
Jensen: Hey darlin’. I’m about to board the flight. I just wanted to tell you last night was incredible and I can’t wait to have you in my arms again. I love you.
You: Hey babe. Have a safe flight. I can’t wait either. I love you too. Your wife called and she said she’d be home soon. I made the bed and took out the bathroom trash. 😉
Jensen: When is she coming home?
You: She said in about half an hour.
Jensen: Of course she is. I doubt she’s going to stay long.
You: I hope she does, the kids miss her. I’ll let you know when you call tonight if she’s here. I doubt we can have that phone sex you promised if she’s here.
Jensen: Of course we can. Go to your bedroom. I left you a present on the dresser.
You: What?! Jensen you didn’t have to get me anything.
Jensen: Yes I did. Trust me, it will make phone sex so much easier, especially if she’s at home.
You: Walking in my room now.
You: Jensen! I can’t believe you bought me earbuds.
Jensen: I told you it would make it easier. Now you can hear me and nobody else can.
You: You’re a genius. 😘
Jensen: I do have an occasional good idea every now and then. I love you, boarding now.
You: I love you too, safe flight my love.
You walked out of your room smiling. The front door opened and Mrs. Ackles walked in. “Hey, Y/N! It’s good to see you.” “Hey, it’s good to see you too. Welcome home.” “Oh it’s good to be home.” Just then a man walked in behind her. You looked at the man and realized it was the man from the article. “Y/N, this is Josh, Josh, this is Y/N. She’s the tutor we hired for the kids. She was so sweet and offered to keep the kids too while Jensen went to work.”
You extended your hand, “Hello, it’s nice to meet you.” “Yeah, you too.” There was a bit of an awkward silence between the three of you. “Well, I’m going to unpack, I’ll be back shortly. Um, Josh, can you carry my suitcase upstairs please?” Inside you rolled your eyes. You’re not being slick, you know that. I know what you’re doing.
“Oh yeah, sure.” He grabbed her bag and walked upstairs with it. You went back into your room, grabbed your book and took it out on the balcony. You settled in the chair and started to read.
A few minutes later you heard Jessica crying. You put your book down and ran into the house. “Jessica, what’s wrong?” Before she could answer you saw Jensen’s wife in a robe, hair a mess and trying to get to her daughter. The two of you made eye contact and a flash of embarrassment filled her eyes. Jessica clung to you and wouldn’t look at her mother.
“Jessica Marie, look at me!” Her big green eyes, full of tears, looked at her mother. “Why did you walk in mommy’s room like that? You know you’re not supposed to when the door is shut.” Oh great parenting. Blame the child for you fucking your boyfriend in your bed, during the day with your children at home. Real fucking smart.
“I heard something. I didn’t know you were home. Why was Uncle Josh laying on you like that?” You looked at her and she looked terrified. “Y/N, would you please excuse me and Jessica. I’d like to speak to my daughter privately.” “Oh, of course.” Jessica clung to you and wouldn’t let you go. “Sweetie. I’ll be in my room. Talk to your mommy.”
You walked into your room and closed the door. Your heart ached for Jessica and wished Jensen was at home. You quickly realized she walked in on her mom and Josh. She was too young to understand what was going on, but not too young to know that Uncle Josh was in mommy’s bed.
A few minutes later there was a knock on your door. “Come in.” Mrs Ackles opened the door and stepped in. “Y/N, can we talk woman to woman?” “Sure.” She sat down at the foot of the bed. “So obviously you know what Jess walked into. I’m not going to lie and say it’s not what you think. It’s exactly what you think. Josh and I were having sex. We’re together. Jensen is aware of it. We haven’t been happy in a really long time. You understand, as women we have needs. Needs my husband can’t satisfy anymore. I’m in love with Josh and he’s in love with me. Jensen and I are only married for PR purposes.” You sat listening to her in complete disbelief. “I get it. Marriage is hard. My husband and I have split up because he started to get abusive. I moved in with my best friend a few months ago, however my ex came to my school and beat me up in the parking lot. Since he knows where she lives, Jensen offered me the guest house. He said you wouldn’t mind. Since there is security here and my ex doesn’t know where you live, Jensen figured it would be safer.”
“Oh my goodness honey, I’m so sorry you’re going through that. I can honestly say no matter what’s happened between me and Jensen, he’s never once put his hands on me. He really is a nice guy, but I just don’t love him. All I ask is you don’t tell Jensen about this fiasco today. Let me tell him, so we can figure out how to address it with the children.” “Of course, it’s not my place to tell him.”
A few minutes later you were left alone in the room. You were torn, could you really judge her after you had sex with her husband in that same bed last night? The kids were home then too, the difference, they were asleep, and he locked the door.
Trying your best not to judge her, you busied yourself with packing. Since she was home you figured you weren’t needed.
You had planned to go back to Y/F/N’s house and pack. Coming out of the room you saw her and Josh standing in the kitchen. “Mrs Ackles, I’m going to head out since you’re home. I’ll be back later today.
“Oh okay, well we aren’t staying long. I just came home to do laundry and grab some things.”
You stood stunned. She’d just come home. Her children desperately missed her. “Okay. Well I won’t be gone long then. I’ll see y’all later.”
Walking to your car your heart was heavy. Her children missed her, but she was more concerned with spending time with her boyfriend. Your heart broke for the kids. Driving to Y/F/N’s house you hoped Jeff wasn’t around so you could get your stuff and leave. You still had a ton of stuff at the house you shared with Jeff, but you were too afraid to go over there without someone with you.
Pulling up to the house you noticed Y/F/N was home. Walking in the house she was so excited to see you. You filled her in on what was going on and told her you were moving into the guest house of the family you tutor for. “Come on, Y/N, you have to tell me who it is.” “Sorry, I can’t. Not only for their protection, but for yours. If Jeff came over you could truly tell him you didn’t know where I am.” “Fine, I just think you’re not telling me because the dad is super hot and you’re secretly having an affair with him.” She started laughing and so did you. You desperately wanted to tell her about you and Jensen, but you needed to protect him.
You packed up your stuff and loaded up your car. You hugged her goodbye and told her you’d be in touch. Once the dad returned you’d be free to hang out again. Driving back to Jensen’s house your phone went off.
Jensen: Hey sweetheart. I’ve landed, gonna grab my bags and head to the hotel. I’ll call you when I get there. How are the kids? Did she ever come home?
You: Hey baby. Glad you arrived safely. The kids are okay. I ran to Y/F/N’s house to pack so I could move in. She did, but she’s leaving again.
Jensen: Of course she is. I can’t wait for you to move in. 😘 Okay. I’ll call you later. I love you.
You: I can’t either. Maybe you can sneak out and come see me. 😉 I love you too.
Jensen: That’s the idea.
You smiled and bit your lip. God this was going to be hard. Pretending he means nothing to you around his wife and kids when he means everything to you.
You arrived back at Jensen’s house late afternoon. Mrs. Ackles, Josh and the kids were in the living room when you arrived. “Hey, Y/N. Did you get your stuff?” “Yeah, most of it. It’s in the car right now.” “Well let me get you the key to the guest house. Josh can help you bring in the boxes.” “Oh, sure, thanks.”
She stood and made her way to the kitchen to get the keys. You walked outside to the back and unlocked the door to the guest house. It was spacious and beautiful. There was a small kitchen and living room, a bedroom in the back and a bathroom between the bedroom and the living area. It was fully furnished too, which was a great help.
The bedroom had a queen sized bed, which you thought was the perfect size for you and Jensen.
Josh carried some boxes in for you. When he put them down he looked at you, “So um, you’re not going to say anything to Jensen are you?” “No, I’m not. It’s not my place.” “Okay, thanks.” You nodded and he walked out.
A few hours later she was telling the kids goodbye, again. The kids were in tears. She told them she would be back in about a week, that she just came home to get some more clothes. Annie was angry, “Why don’t you love us anymore? You’re always gone.” “Oh Annie, I do love you guys. I just have some grown up things to take care of. I promise I will be back soon.”
Annie walked away and didn’t say goodbye to her mother. The other two cried and hugged her. When she pulled them off of her they clung to you. “Y/N, thank you again for taking care of them.” You nodded, trying to hide your anger. Her and Josh walked out the door.
A little while later your phone rang with a video call. Jensen’s name flashed on the screen. “Guys, guess who’s calling me?!” You called the kids. The three of them ran in excited. You answered the phone and saw Jensen sitting shirtless on a bed. You bit your lip. “Daddy!” Annie yelled. Jess and Jensen Jr came running to the phone, “Daddy!” You smiled as Jensen talked to his children and they told him about their day. Jensen noticed Jessica was unusually quiet when he asked about her day. She looked at you and then at Jensen. “Daddy, Mommy was mad at me.” “What? Why baby girl?” You knew she was about to tell him, but you didn’t know how to stop her. “I went in your room.” Jensen looked confused, “What happened in my room, baby girl?” “Mommy was in there with Uncle Josh, and he was on top of her. They were making funny sounds.”
You saw Jensen’s jaw tighten and a flash of anger in his eyes. “It’s okay baby girl. You didn’t do anything wrong.” The kids and Jensen talked for a little while longer before they said their goodbyes, “Hey guys, let me talk to Ms Y/N before I hang up. I love you three so much.”
Annie handed you back your phone and Jensen waited, “They’re outside now.” “What the fuck happened?” Jensen asked with venom in his voice. “Honestly I’m not sure. I was in my room, reading and I heard Jess crying. So I came out, when I saw her your wife was coming down the steps in a robe. Apparently her and Josh were having sex and Jess walked in on it.”
Jensen ran his hands through his hair in frustration. “She was screwing him in my bed?! What the hell was she thinking doing that with the kids there.” “Jensen, honey, we did the exact same thing last night too.” “Right, but we locked the door and the kids were asleep for fucks sake. I knew she was screwing him, but to bring him in the house and do that with our children at home in the middle of the day is just insane.”
“I know, baby. I’m sorry. I wish I could have protected her from that.” “It’s not your fault darlin’. Is she still there?” “No, they left again. She said she’d be back in about a week.” “Okay, well I have a night shoot today, then I’m shooting tomorrow. If all goes well I should be back by Wednesday.” “I can’t wait until you’re home. I already miss you.” “I miss you too, sweetheart. I can’t wait to hold you in my arms again.” You smiled.
“Well baby, text me when the kids go to sleep, I shouldn’t be shooting yet, so if you’re up for some fun, I’ll video call you.” He winked at you and you giggled. “I will, Jensen. I’m looking forward to it.” “Good, well I need to head out. I’m going to the studio to sign some things and get stuff ready. I love you, Y//N.” “I love you too, Jensen.”
Hours later when the kids were finally in bed you sent Jensen a text.
You: Hey baby, the kids are in bed and so am I. Waiting for you with my earbuds. 😉
You noticed Jensen’s typing bubbles kept appearing and disappearing. You waited for either a text or the video chat to come up, but nothing. As the minutes turned into hours, your heart sank. Maybe he got called to set early. He’s busy, but then why are the bubbles appearing? So many thoughts running through your head.
You laid down, placing your head on your pillow and your phone next to you. Before too long you were falling asleep. You woke up a few hours later and looked at the clock, 3:45am. You checked your phone and still nothing from him. You sighed heavily, got up, changed your clothes into more appropriate sleepwear, put your phone on silent, and crawled back in bed with a heavy heart.
You missed Jensen, and you were sad he didn’t call you or even text you back. Before going to sleep you sent Jensen a final text.
You: I’m going to bed, you must be busy. Good night, Jensen.
You put your phone down, rolled over and fell asleep.
The sound of your alarm blaring pulled you from your slumber. You were exhausted. Falling asleep was easy, but you kept waking up. You knew Jensen had an evening shoot, but you couldn’t understand why he didn’t text.
You grabbed your phone and checked it. Your heart sank, no messages or missed calls. He was probably busy. He’ll call today.
You opened Instagram and started scrolling. Your fingers stopped when you saw a picture of Jensen. He was sitting at a table in a restaurant with the woman who posted the photo. You saw other people there too, but her and Jensen looked really cozy. Your heart clenched in your chest.
She was gorgeous, a guest star on the show he was on. She was tall, dark hair, thin, and very busty. She’s leaning on Jensen in the photo and he had his arm around her waist, pulling her close to him. She’s placing a kiss on his cheek. The caption is what made the tears fall.
“Always a fun time with this cutie, Jensen Ackles. Thanks for such a fun night out. Can’t wait to do it again. 😘” The comments were horrible. Some of the other people in the photo commented that Jensen was hilarious being so drunk last night. Other comments said his wife was going to have to share him. Then Jensen commented, “Yeah, last night was fun. Glad I decided to go out, not glad I drank so much. Bring me some water and a greasy breakfast when you come in today. 😉”
You sat on your bed and cried. Feeling foolish that Jensen could actually love someone like you. Just an average woman, not beautiful by Hollywood standards, and definitely not a model. You had extra weight, and you worked a Mon-Fri job, hell you were tutoring his kids, and right now you were pretty much their nanny. Maybe you were just a means to an end until he went back to work, or you were just a quick fuck because he wasn’t getting any from his wife.
Now with him back at work, he wouldn’t need you anymore. Your anxiety started to spiral and within minutes you were in the middle of a full panic attack. Tears streaming down your face. Your heart broke. You allowed yourself to fall in love with him, and you thought he was being genuine when he said he loved you, now you weren’t so sure. You wanted to, no, you needed to talk to him.
You: Jensen, we need to talk. Please call me as soon as you can.
Jensen: Can’t talk right now. Chat later.
You: Okay, I love you.
Jensen: K, chat later.
The sadness overwhelmed you. You curled into a ball on your bed and cried. A few hours later, you cried all you could. Your eyes were swollen and red. Slowly pulling yourself out of bed, you jumped in the shower.
You tried to wash away all the sadness and humility. Standing under the hot water, it covers you like a warm blanket. The water eventually turned cold, pulling you from your thoughts. You got out, dried off and got dressed.
You walked into the kitchen and made coffee. The shrill sound of your phone ringing pulled you from your thoughts. Looking at your screen you saw it was a video call from Jensen. You walked back into your room for privacy. Your finger hovering over the answer button.
You took a steading breath and answered.
“Hey sweetheart, how are you?” Jensen saw you and his eyes filled with concern, “Baby, what’s wrong?”
You looked at your phone as tears slipped out. “Baby, talk to me, please you’re scaring me. What’s wrong? Are you okay, the kids?”
You softly answered, “The kids are fine, Mr Ackles.” “Are you okay, sweetheart? What’s wrong, and why are you calling me Mr. Ackles?”
You shook your head no. “I’m not okay, but I will be. I can’t do this anymore. When you or Mrs. Ackles gets back. I'll be leaving. I won’t be tutoring the kids anymore. I’m sorry.” “Baby, what happened? Please talk to me.”
“I can’t compete with the women you work with. You chose to go out last night, drink and hang on that gorgeous woman. Not that I blame you, she’s perfect and I’m not. I waited for you, a text, a call, but I got nothing.” Tears were still falling down your face.
“Y/N, you’re perfect, gorgeous and I’m so in love with you, please baby, please believe me. I’m sorry I didn’t call or text. If I didn’t go out people would have questioned why. By the time I got back to the hotel it was really late and I figured you were asleep.”
“I…just..” Whole body sobs filled you. Jensen’s heart broke. He had no intention of hurting you. “Sweetheart, please. I don’t want anyone but you. I’m completely in love with you, only you. Please look at me.”
You lifted your eyes and met his eyes on the screen, and saw pain and love. “That’s my girl, even now you’re beautiful to me. Please baby believe me when I tell you I love you and I never meant to hurt you.”
“Then why when I texted earlier and said I love you, you replied back with ‘k, chat later’? “Oh darlin’ I was just really busy. There isn’t an excuse for that. I promise you I will never miss the opportunity to tell you I love you again.”
Tears streamed down your face again, you felt ashamed and guilty for feeling like you did. “I’m sorry Jensen, I just can’t believe someone like you would really want someone like me. I know you love me. Guess I have a lot to work on.”
“God I wish I was there with you right now. I’d wrap my arms around you and never let you go. Kiss those soft lips of yours, down your neck, leaving love bites to your beautiful breasts.”
You smirked and bit your lip, then giggled when you saw him adjust his pants. “Jens, are you trying to have phone sex with me?”
“Maybe, is it working?” He winked at the camera.
You let your shirt fall forward a bit, exposing the upper part of your breast and a little of your nipple, “Maybe”.
About 20 minutes later the two of you were panting and coming down from your release.
“Jens, that was hot.” “Yeah it was, baby. Now I’m really sorry I missed this last night.” Your flushed cheeks getting darker as you giggled.
“I wish I was there with you, Y/N. You’re so beautiful, especially with those flushed cheeks.”
There was a knock on his door that pulled his attention for a second, “Mr. Ackles, you’re needed on set in 5.” “Okay, thanks Joe.” He turned his attention back towards you, “Duty calls, darlin’, but I’m not done with you yet. I’ll call you as soon as I’m free and we’re going to do this again. I love you, baby.”
You smiled, “I can’t wait, babe, and Jensen, I’m sorry.” “Shh, baby, it’s okay this is all new territory for the both of us. We will get through it. I love you so much, and I’m not going anywhere.”
“I love you too, Jensen. Have a great time on set and I’ll talk to you later.” “Bye darlin’, have a great day.” He blew a kiss before he hung up.
You sat on the bed smiling, knowing there were things you two needed to work out, but you also knew Jensen really did love you, wanted you, and wanted to be with only you.
As you got up your phone went off with an Instagram notification. It was a post from Jensen.
There was a picture of a silhouette of a man and a woman, holding onto each other. He captioned it with, “The feeling of being completely in love with another person is one of the best feelings in the world. When you find your person you know. Everything feels right, easy. No matter what you two face, you can always find a common ground. I love you, darlin’. Now and forever more.”
Your heart fluttered in your chest. You sent him a text.
You: I love you too, now and forever more.
Jensen: 🥰 😘 I’m glad you saw that.

Characters' Wishing Stars
Tumblr media
(Updated to include every character's wish, then added more thoughts about more of the other wishes. Thoughts on Norton's/Fool's Gold's and Jose's are at the end)
Part 1 - Wishing Stars
Survivors
Lucky: I wish for good fortune for everyone! May the lucky star bless all!
Emily: May all be endowed with wellness and joy. May sickness be but a distant shadow in this world.
Freddy: I've made some mistakes, Martha, but I've never regretted loving you.
Kreacher: Set adrift toward the yonder, and let everyone know: Kreacher's ambitions shall be made manifest! Mark my words!
Emma: Father, Mother, are you well? Do you, too, gaze up at the stars this evening?
Servais: I wish to one day stand on the grandest stage of magic! That day will surely come.
Kurt: To live in this beautiful world is a blessing, and in the future, I hope to pursue adventures in higher, farther, and grander realms!
Naib: Will this lantern reach the rivers of my homeland? If so, I wish for it to tell her I'm doing well.
Martha: May each soul find sanctuary, never to lose oneself, never to drift astray.
Tracy: Changing the world might be too lofty an ideal, but I at least want to invent things that bring happiness to more people!
William: Someday, I will be acknowledged! Victory is the domain of the brave-those who defy adversity!
Helena: The night sky must be beautiful, just as it is in my imagination. If possible, I'd like to see this wonderful world with my own eyes someday.
Fiona: Mother, do you see? I've taken another step closer to the truth of this world.
Vera: Vera, I wish you well. It was all worth it.
Kevin: They say the departed become stars.. Even now, I still remain shamefully illuminated by your light.
Margaretha: In the not-too-distant future, there will surely be a stage as brilliant as this starry sky meant solely for me. This is my wish.
Eli: Stars, rivers, flowers. This is a beautiful dream I never anticipated, so please let this dream last a little longer.
Aesop: May this lantern find tranquil shores, as may I.
Norton: I want to live a better life.
Patricia: May fate judge all wrongdoing.
Murro: Well-being to all! I hope someone, somewhere, will remember Murro.
Mike: I wish to bring joy to more people and help everyone forget their troubles!
Jose: May all my loved ones embark on their own journeys, and may lighthouses guide them to safe harbors.
Demi: Brother, are you well? Are you admiring this starry sky too?
Victor: To whoever sees my letter and lantern, know that Victor wishes you eternal happiness.
Andrew: Though I cannot gaze directly upon the sun, this eve, I've beheld the most resplendent darkness. I am grateful for this night and for those who accompany me.
Luca: Those who march toward science and truth will not regret it. One day, I will prove everything.
Melly: What a beautiful night. I hope all those little lives be cherished, as they rest beneath the grass and leaves.
Edgar: The shifting starry sky hides endless beauty and mystery, and we mortals, mere chroniclers of this splendor, stand and gaze, as do I.
Ganji: I wish the people of my hometown healthy and prosperous. At least, tonight, I'm looking at the same sky as you.
Annie: May every child grow in peace and happiness. May every little toy cradle your grandest dreams.
Emil: I often forget the past, but from now on, every day shall brim with bliss. I wish that everyone could remember only happiness.
Ada: I wish for Emil's good health. May we all cherish the present and the love of others.
Orpheus: Fate pens the finest tales, so I hope everyone's story holds fewer regrets, twists, and at least, more favorable conclusions.
Memory: The stars are exceptionally beautiful tonight! I also wish to be a kind, loving person who brings happiness to everyone.
Weeping Clown: One day, when the audience watches Joker, they, too, will wear a genuine, satisfied smile.
Professor: I don't have any wishes, save for this lantern to journey far, far away.
Qi: May old companions fare well.
Frederick: The night always brings to mind fragments of the past and chaotic whispers, yet from such whispers, countless great inspirations arise.
Alice: Alice, follow the path you believe to be true, for earnest living begets serendipity.
Charles: Stars, please tell me - should I hold on a little longer?
Lily: I shall alter all through sheer endeavor, Simon.
Matthias: Will the moonlight shine on me… on Matthias?
Florian: The bright yet warmthless stars evoke memories of childhood Christmases.
Evelyn: Are you still searching for your destination.
Hunters
Leo: Lisa, may you grow up healthy and safe.
Joker: Come on! I wish for everyone to share in the madness and mirth with me!
Jack: Should I wish for clarity, or pray to forever bask in this enchanting night…
Bane: May no creature suffer harm. May the heart of humanity awaken to conscience.
Violetta: Oh, beautiful stars… I wish everyone well! I hope… I hope everyone can be loved.
Michiko: Love is bittersweet, and time ticks on without a care. Gazing at the moon always brings to mind those no longer with us.
Hastur: (There is no writing on the wishing star, but it shows signs of having been soaked in water.)
Wu Chang: May you be well, may the years be kind, and may lovers remain together in love.
Joseph: Does moonlight hold the power to turn back time? If such a thing were true, I'd wish to return to the time when you were still here.
Burke: It's too late for me to start making any wishes. But if everyone else is safe and happy, this old soul can rest easy.
Yidhra: (The wishing star is blank, but a fierce night wind blows upon beholding it.)
Robbie: I want a songbird that can fly to where my parents are and sing to them.
Luchino: Rather than making wishes, I believe humanity ought to strive for advancement through diligence.
Mary: The illusion of opulence has been shattered. Given another beginning, I'd choose to be the master of my destiny.
Bonbon: It's been a pleasure knowing you! Bonbon!
Ann: I'm lucky to have found a purpose in life. I hope everyone's kindness and faith will not be in vain.
Antonio: My violin bow, please play the most exquisite, unbound melodies.
Galatea: Stars above, please grant me more inspiration and opportunities to create beautiful works.
Percy: (The wishing star is unmarked, save for traces of motor oil, resembling a moon perhaps?)
Polun: We want money! Wealth! Fame! Of course, we want our dear father and mother too!
Grace: I wish for no one to be lonely. I wish that you could all be happy. As for me, I can't think of any wishes.
Philippe: If my sister and I could gaze at this starry sky together, my wish would be fulfilled.
Nightmare: Congratulations, you've glimpsed the writings of the "Nightmare" in this wondrous dream!
Keigan: I wish for this world to have more justice and rationality. That should be enough.
Alva: May more forsake the folly of human nature and choose to approach the truth.
Ithaqua: Mother, if possible, I wish to at least dream of those moments in the woods and snow at night.
Sangria: Burn once more, for I still seek to prove my worth.
Fool's Gold: I've already dug my way out of fate's mine. Haven't I?
Ivy: (The paper is scribbled with 2 little girls holding a wishing star lantern together.)
Part 2 - Thoughts
In general, all of them are pretty good and I definitely think helps paint a better picture of each character, who they are deep down, and what their priority/goal is.
Quite a few few of them though are fairly sad, including (to me) Freddy, Naib, Helena, Kevin, Murro, Ganji, Charles, Violetta, Joseph, Burke, Robbie, Philip, Ithaqua, Fool's Gold, and Ivy. I have to say, the ones that made me feel the worst were Kevin and Burke (especially the latter. Can you not make me feel like I wanna cry?).
Tumblr media
Freddy's I quite like as I think it tells a lot about him. He admits he's not perfect, he admits even things he did weren't right, but for good or ill he still loves Martha Remington. To me, it's that admission of his mistakes I like the most.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Naib and Ganji both simply wishing to be home, with their families, but because they can't they just wish that their loved ones are happy and sufficiently taken care of. Despite how they may be depicted in their games, they both have a lot of sorrow in their heart and have been through quite the ordeals, all while being far from home and any chance to return is slim or difficult to acquire. Everything they do matters little compared to their longing to return home and move past all this.
Tumblr media
Helena's wish I to see the world one day, for obvious reasons, is quite sad considering how she lost her eyesight when she was young. As a result, she can only imagine and dream of seeing the sky. The fact there's little chance she'll regain her sight somehow (unless something happens in the future) is what makes this line hurt the most.
Tumblr media
Murro's wish is only for someone to remember him, which honestly is quite the implication of how he feels about himself and how he thinks others' feel about him. He's been through so much, losing his parents, then his ill treatment and abuse while he was kept by Bernard, to the point he simply wanted to get away from people and just be with his partner. It's that feeling he's given up hope, and the idea that this is all he thinks he's capable of hoping for... It's like he already thinks he has no future and nothing much to look forward to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wishes of people like Charles, Robbie, Joseph, Philip, Ithaqua, and Ivy are focused on the loss of those close to them, some of which are consumed by the guilt at their role in that loss or inability to prevent their death. Joseph especially has devoted the rest of his life to attempting to revive Claude, and has been incapable of ever having a single moment where he isn't thinking about his twin. It makes me think about what Michiko said regarding the bittersweetness of love, and how time marches on whether or not those we love are left behind. The important question being whether a person is capable of moving forward or will be stuck looking back, which is the whole theme with Orpheus.
Tumblr media
Violetta's wish hurts me due to me reading into her line and feeling like she's referring to herself. And the idea that she's wishing there was someone out there who will love her, as her being abandoned by her parents, taken by Max who treated her like an object to attract attention to his freak show and earn him money, but once she no longer did, he disposed of her, leaving Violetta feeling unwanted. Despite what she's been through, she is still a kind and positive person, but even she has moments where she can't help but let slip hints about her true feelings.
Tumblr media
Kevin of course has been and still is a very sad boy. He, like Joseph, has his thoughts forever stuck on the loved ones he lost. He is incapable of moving past Angelina's death, further compounded by his guilt regarding Angelina's father and the tribe. He is trapped by his guilt. It's the fact that Kevin refuses to forgive himself, blaming himself for everything that has happened, is why Kevin's wish hurts me so much.
Tumblr media
Burke... I don't even know what to say. This was the 1 that I think hurt the most for a bunch of reasons that I don't quite know how to put to words. Netease, please stop trying to make me cry.
As for other wishes that caught my attention:
Tumblr media
Mike's simple wish to bring joy to people and help them forget their troubles was curious, as I think it really helps give a better idea about him, considering he's someone I sometimes find tricky to figure out. His deductions depict him as pretty mischievious, especially with things like using rocks or nitrogen in his tricks. But then we get to the tragedy, and all we don't really get any more ... good descriptions from Mike himself as to how he is internally. Except for hints based on how he went to the morgue to confirm who was dead and who was missing. And then with his suspicion of (and disgust for) Margaretha, as well as Joker. His last deduction and backstory really emphasize that his singular goal is essentially revenge. Yet we learn in through the letters that he was unable to do so even when he's given the chance. This is why I at least personally appreciate this little detail about his interest in people's happiness and desire to fix all their problems. It helps put everything else in better perspective.
Tumblr media
Vera's was mainly due to how she says it was "all worth it". This seems to confirm how she feels about her actions, despite the sorrow she describes in her 1st letter due to her own actions, and despite the reality of what she did. She continues to reason with herself that, despite the cost, it all worked out in the end. It could show just how broken she's become due to how she grew up due to her father and everyone looking down on her and treating her the way they did. It could show just how hard her heart has become as a result. But it's also possible to read this line as trying to convince herself to not regret. To not dwell on what she's done. To try to tell herself that it's ok, it's ok, it's ok. If this is true, whether or not she actually fully believes this attempt to reason with herself is a separate question.
Tumblr media
Margaretha's further confirms the type of person she's in and the life she's interested in. She's still interested in luxury, she's still a bit vain, just like her personality info in-game states. However, what I was focused on was how she talks about having a stage "solely for me". This to me reads as she wants to be able to move forward and survive on her own without having to rely on others, like she did previously with Sergei, or how she's "exploiting" Joker. Which I think is a good development on her part, as I think it shows growth. It's something that may take time, but she's expressing determination to achieve this goal.
Tumblr media
Martha was primarily of interest to me as, similar to Violetta, I read it as she was essentially referring to herself. It's a lament over the fact she has no place she sees as "home", and she doesn't even know who she is anymore. She's taken on too many identities, and gone through so much that she isn't sure who is the real her or if even if she does remember if it'll actually feel right to her anymore. She's lost and doesn't know how to find her way back on to the path. Her wish is a warning to others the way I see it, which is imporant considering what we learn happened with her in her game.
Sangria's I find curious as I never really thought about her like that, the idea that she wants to "prove [her] worth". It can make sense considering her backstory and deductions emphasize how badly she was treated by her father and the fact she was viewed as "less than a toy", as well as make sense based on whatever happened between her and the lady to cause Sangria to later ask to "get back on stage". I feel like this wish could potentially help understand some of what happens with her in her game...
Tumblr media
Then there's Nightmare. Which to me feels... the strangest and almost out of place of any of the wishes. I'm still not quite sure about the real meaning behind it yet but it does make me think...
On that same tangent, I'll go to Orpheus next. Similarly, his line is quite interesting and will take me some time to really digest. The fact he speaks of wanting to reduce other people's regrets and give them "more favorable conclusions" to me is strange. Some of the stories he writes don't exactly feel like he's trying to give the people it's based on better "conclusions", nor does it feel like he's doing that with the participants of each of his games. Though looking at a different place, what he seems to be doing to Kevin in his 4th letter does feel like he's trying to manipulate Kevin's memories to make him think Angelina isn't dead. The entire truth of the goal of Orpheus' experiments and actions is still something I don't think we fully grasp yet. It's possible more is happening to the participants than we know (especially with how of them, or at least their bodies, are missing, and I still wonder about Yidhra's and Joseph's involvements, considering the Dreamlands or Joseph's photo world could potentially present Orpheus an opportunity to maybe give individuals a happier story if they are trapped there, especially with the memory drugs, but I'm still unsure about so much...).
Tumblr media
Norton's wish is such a great but simple enough summary for his character. He's not asking to be rich. He's not asking for gold despite that's what he searched for in Golden Cave. He's not asking for anything in particular. All Norton cares about is having a "better" life. Something more than being trapped in poverty, with a job that could kill him at any time, and especially over time the longer he has it. He wants to not have to worry about starving all the time, or worry if he'll have a place to shelter for the night, or worry about cruel coworkers or employers, any other necessities he needs. We've seen that he isn't asking for anything fancy. He eats simple bread, and spends what little spare money he has on books and knowledge. He just wants enough so he'll never have to worry about going back to that life again.
Tumblr media
Which is interesting when considering Fool's Gold's wish: "I've already dug my way out of fate's mine. Haven't I?". This to me sounds like he's trying to convince himself. He's desperately hoping he's finally escaped the mine, which he describes as "fate's" mine. This referencing his "fate" as a miner due to his father also being a miner. The fact he describes it as how he "dug my way out" is a way of showing how he's done everything himself. He was the one who's fought tooth and nail to get out of his situation, who's spent all his blood, sweat, and tears to originally just work hard enough to earn what he can, and then when that didnt work find another way, and when he was trapped in Golden Cave, how he literally dug his way out (which shows how badly he wants to live). "Fate" being a "mine" also has the symbolism of Norton originally seeing his fate as somethin dark, made by someone else who forced him into it, a place with little room to move full of many dangers, surrounded by many people who either treated him badly or only cared for themselves, and the only path forward led further and further down. This was why Norton wants to escape his fate, and why he's been so desperate to do anything he can if it means a way out. He wants a brighter fate, one not trapped underground, but a fate out in the open world where the sky is the limit. Unfortunately though, as we can see from the ending of Fool's Gold's wish, Norton isn't entirely convinced he's completely escaped his fate. Which is curious and I wish I could see the reasoning behind his thoughts. Is it because he's afraid he'll be caught for what he did? Is it because he's afraid he'll have to go back to the mine if he is unable to find any other way of making a living? Is it because of whatever happened while he was trapped in the mind that he's continuously referenced but never explained, that's lead to him being so deathly afraid of the place? Or does it have something to do with his current situation with Orpheus and whatever the order was in his 2nd letter? Considering this is the 2nd time we've seen Norton trying to convince himself but failing to do so completely by the end (the 1st time being in Norton's 2nd letter where he tries to convince himself to go through with the assassination order), I wonder if it's possible these 2 things could be related. Maybe he feels like or is starting to feel like his current situation is not any better than it was before when he was still a miner, or when he was trapped in Golden Cave. Which is curious as that seems to reinforce how we can't be completely sure what Norton will do in the final game, or what the full truth of his relationship with Orpheus, Alice, and the others is. It's also interesting this line comes from Fool's Gold, who also appeared in Norton's backstory trailer, before he causes Golden Cave to collapse. He's holding his head, and seemingly fighting with himself over whether he should do it or not. Hunter Norton seems to be a way of showing Norton's internal dilemma, his war with himself, with how Hunter Norton is likely symbolized in Norton's 2nd letter, and now again here when Norton's trying to convince himself that he's escaped his fate. But unlike the 1st time in the mine when Hunter Norton managed to win out and cause the mine collapse, these other 2 times haven't ended with a certain winner, which could show how Norton's changed or how he may not be willing to do the same thing again. But maybe I'm thinking too hard.
Tumblr media
As for Jose, I wish I could understand him better. Despite how his father treated him, despite how he only cared about fame and fortune, despite how he was only ever concerned about looking good for the Queen and everyone he deemed important, Jose still wishes his "loved ones" to stay safe essentially. Who that would be besides his family I'm not sure. We never learn about his mother, and there's really no one else that could be outside of maybe some people he was friends with, though he specifically says "loved ones". We don't know if he was friendly with those on his crew, though we know at least some were of the same type of person as Jose's father based on Jose's deduction 7, while others died either when Jose's father vanished or during deduction 4. We now know he's tied in some way to Sam Bourbon but not the specifics of that relationship (how friendly were they?). Therefore, it's most likely he's referring to his father here. I wish I knew more about Jose's feelings and relationship with his father, considering deduction 7 and 8, as well as other bits don't exactly make Joaquin out to be a good person or see his son as anything but an object. But it's possible it was because Jose's father was the only family he ever had, and he simply wished he could've stopped him from doing what Jose didn't agree with and/or helped change him for the better.

All I Ever Wanted, All I Ever Needed Pt. 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: siblingxsibling implications, Homelander being such a narcissist that he falls in "love" with his own sibling, Homelander being a stalker, innocent reader, naive reader, Homelander being a basic menace, some uncomfortable parts, dubcon, secrets, manipulation, grooming (feel like that's what Homelander is doing), age gap, power imbalance, there will be one more part after this then i think i'm gonna wrap up this little story
Words: 3472
Summary: Starlight unravels the secrets which Homelander and Vought so desperately wanted to keep in the dark.
Part 1 Part 3
Tumblr media
Annie was still reeling from the events of yesterday. She'd barely stepped foot into her apartment before a Vought assistant was scrambling to reach her. They inform Annie about the dinner being held that night to introduce a Seven-Trainee. This only further raised the hairs of alarm on the back of her neck.
Worst of all was that you nor anyone else saw a problem with this. Maeve wore her mask well and kept her thoughts to herself though their conversation was till fresh. Maeve really wanted to ignore how odd it was.
Maeve rose her glass with everyone else, a smile plastered across her face. And you, you were beyond happy; unaware of the wolf that paraded beside you. Annie could barely stomach her meal, forcing down bits of lamb but the richness of it soured immediately on her tongue.
Thankfully once everyone seemed to finish, the group parted ways with you and Homelander walking away together side by side.
That night was hard to sleep, even after calling Hughie and telling him all about it. He'd said that him and the Boys would look into it. See what they could find on you. That did help enough to lull Annie to sleep.
Reality was there in the Seven's conference room though, cheerfully beaming up at Annie.
"Good morning Starlight!" You chirp, the mug in your hand is put down forgotten by her entrance. Homelander is taking slow sips of his coffee, watching their interaction like a hawk. Annie didn't have to look at him to know that. She could feel the drilling of his piercing blue eyes. The eyes of a sociopath.
She puts on her best face, similar to the ones she wore when meeting fans. "How was your first night in the Tower?"
"It was great!" Really, it had been a great night. Probably the best one in your life. After the delicious dinner Homelander took you out around the city, giving you an aerial tour. Then he got ice cream for the two of you to enjoy back on Vought Tower's roof. You listened to the urban music it made at night. Honking of cars, sizzling of food, the chatter of people; the city was so alive. Your nights at home were spent quietly.
The warmth that Homelander made you feel took you by surprise. From the moment he showed up at your house, you felt an immediate connection. Like the two of you meeting was fated, written in the stars. In a short amount of time, Homelander had embedded himself in you. Last night all you could think about was spending the next day with him and the rest of the Seven. He gave you comfort in a way your parents never did. They loved you sure but they never really understood you. They were fearful when you started flying. You didn't even want to remember the conniption your father had when you'd accidentally fried an expensive painting with your lasers. To them your powers were somewhat of a burden, not something to revel in.
Yesterday you'd used your powers more than you have in your entire life. Homelander encouraged you.
A bit of a cliche, you already felt yourself really falling in love with him. You'd already been fairly attracted to him to begin with. When you saw him on tv, he was your ideal of the perfect man. Well spoken, handsome, chivalrous- everything you thought your future partner would be. He ticked off all of those boxes.
Chances though that he reciprocated such feelings so soon was low. He must see you as still a child. The age difference didn't help either.
"She'll be shadowing me today." Homelander tells Starlight as she stops by the breakfast buffet that was set up for the Seven. Her hand lingers on the cup of coffee she'd poured herself. "Just to get an idea of what we do on a daily basis."
She raises her brows. "You're taking her out on the field so soon?"
It's obvious that Homelander doesn't like Starlight questioning his choices when it comes to you.
You cheerfully nod. You memorized the schedule Homelander had given to you a few moments before Starlight had entered the conference room. Holding out the sheet of paper to her, she takes it and looks it over.
Starlight doesn't remove her eyes from the paper. "Don't you think she'd benefit from shadowing myself or Maeve one of these days? It looks like she's mainly going to be with you and Black Noir."
He keeps his tight lipped smile. "I'm giving her the basics. Once she's advancing to my satisfaction she can work with you and Queen Maeve. For now I want to be hands on with her training. After all, anyone would kill to be taught by America's number one hero." Homelander's smile that he gives you sends your tummy in a flurry.
Taking everything in you to maintain a professional appearance, you hide your blush by taking a sip of your coffee. You didn't want Starlight to see you obviously simping for him. That would be embarrassing. You wanted to be taken seriously during your time here. This was a once in a life time opportunity that you didn't want to squander. You planned on absorbing everything you learn during your time with the Seven. Maybe one day. . . you'd be able to join their ranks. Wasn't that every little supe's dream?
Starlight was actually happy to see Black Noir and Maeve walk in, A-Train trailing behind them; his eyes glued to his phone.
You straighten in your seat, showing them that you understood the great privilege it was to be there with them. Your heart raced being around so many big names.
You listen attentively as the Seven get down to morning business.
Tumblr media
The next few days are spent integrating yourself into the lifestyle and schedule of the Seven. Homelander took control of your training in the beginning, but he had other priorities that pulled him away from you. Much to both of your chagrin. He handed you off to Maeve during his busy hours. Unlike Homelander, Maeve isn't quite as warm. She's a tough teacher. Even when you walk around with her in public she keeps everything professional. She holds herself perfectly which you catch yourself trying to replicate. Maeve had you learning the different districts of New York. Important to understand the diversity in each and the crime statistics that reflected upon it.
"You need to know the streets like the back of your hand. Especially when criminals try to run. They'll do whatever it takes to shake you from their trail." Maeve explains. "Since you can fly, it'll be especially important for you to memorize an aerial map too."
You diligently studied any and all maps you could get ahold of. Even went as far as spreading all of them out around your apartment.
Problems came at the prospect of Maeve sparring with you. With someone like Maeve it was necessary to take care to not use the full capacity of your powers on her. She wasn't completely indestructible, unlike you and Homelander. Physical training would have to wait until Homelander's schedule freed up.
He texts you as you wait for him in Vought's state of the art gym. The both of you make plans after training to hang out.
Finding yourself internally swooning, you shake your head free of any thoughts of that ilk. You wanted to remain professional. He's just being friendly and must know that you might be missing your family.
And it was weird that you hadn't received any calls or texts from either your mom or your dad. When you'd attempted to contact them yourself they never answer. Your messages go unreturned.
You'd thought about paying an actual visit with this concerning behavior. They'd gone from helicopter parents to ghost quiet. Your schedule was just so busy. Maybe you'd take the time to ask Homelander if you could take time off to go.
When Starlight shows up, gym bag hanging off of her shoulder, she's pleasantly surprised to find you alone in the locker room. "Hey! I feel like I haven't seen you in a while."
She was still in her supe outfit but lacked her long lashes that she wore to public events and patrol. Still she was so pretty.
"I've been shadowing Queen Maeve during the day. And then training in the afternoons whenever Homelander's available. I tried sparring with Queen Maeve, but even when I tried not to punch so hard. . ." You rub your knuckles. Even when you held back you still sent Queen Maeve a couple of feet away before she steadies herself to get back up. Really, it was you who insisted to train with Homelander after that. You knew nothing you did would seriously hurt him.
Pressing her lips together, Starlight suggests "You know, I may not look it,, but I'm pretty tough." She offers you a tentative smile. "If you want to try sparring with me? I don't have much to do today."
"Really?"
"Sure! You're supposed to be learning from all of us, right?"
You enthusiastically nod and close your locker door before you hop to your feet. "Okay! Guess I should get a warm up in before Homelander gets here."
Both of you laugh as you exit the lockers side by side. It was odd when you remember that Starlight is only a year or two older than you. She carries herself with such confidence. Each stride she takes is strong. Every block she makes, calculated. She'd only been in the Seven for little more than a year and she fit in so easily.
As much as you idolized Homelander, you loved Starlight. Even after Vought decided to change her supe uniform to something more scandalous. From the first photoshoots she'd done in her new outfit, there was a look of contempt that shadowed her eyes. Clear that this change wasn't her decision. Whatever Vought was trying to make her out to be, Starlight would remain herself. She was still the bad ass girl that gave you hope that you could one day join the Seven officially.
Starlight proved to be a competent sparring partner. Dodging any of your offensive attacks. You had to move quick around her. She was fast, even impressing you.
Neither of you noticed when Homelander strolls into the gym where supes honed their skills. You don't see the twitching of his jaw or the haughty way he folds his arms in front of his expansive chest. His eyes are particularly glued to Starlight, the interloper. It was one thing letting you follow and learn from Maeve. Homelander didn't trust Starlight one bit. He'd always felt something off about her. She just felt fake to him. And he didn't like how her expression had become hostile when he introduced you. Like he was doing something wrong by bringing you to the Tower. He wonders if she knew the truth about you.
A trickle of sweat was rolling down the side of your face when you finally turn to where Homelander was standing. "Oh! Hey Homelander!" You use the front of your tank top to wipe your face.
He forces his iciness to melt just enough so that he could return your bright smile while still shooting Starlight eyes that could only mean 'watch yourself'. "I thought you didn't feel comfortable physically training with anyone but me?" Homelander puts on a tone of faux hurt.
"Starlight assured me that she's sturdier than she looks. And she was right! Plus she's fast and I hardly landed any serious blows to her." Confidence made your smile widen and Homelander felt that familiar clenching in his chest. How precious and perfect you were to him. Starlight threatened that. She could be a bad influence on you. He could already see you dressing in a skimpy outfit like Starlight wore. And while he wouldn't mind seeing that, he would mind everyone else's penetrating gaze. That was something he couldn't risk.
"You almost got me a few times." She chuckles in return, already feeling the both of you were becoming actual friends.
"Well," Homelander inserts himself between you two "thank you for warming her up, but I'm here now. I'll take over."
Starlight's smile waver, her dark eyes hardening toward the leader of the Seven. "Of course." Her warmth returns when she addresses you. "We should do that again. I had fun."
You felt like you could explode. "Y-yeah! I had fun too. I'll see you later!" You didn't have many friends, at least not organic friends that you made yourself.
Yeah, your friendship with Starlight was definitely not Homelander approved.
The entire time it takes Starlight to leave the gym, Homelander's glare didn't move from her back. He didn't like her around his sister one bit.
"Alright!" Your cheerful hum brings him back to you. "Now I can really go all out. You ready?"
Corner of his mouth curling up into one of affection. He'd put a pin in it, wait until later. For now, he just wanted to enjoy being around you and having you beam up at him like he was your own personal deity. Your main god whom you would always rely on.
Tumblr media
With Homelander distracted, Starlight takes the opportunity to slink out of the Tower and to the Boys' hideout. Her gray hoodie covers her signature gold hair. Hopefully that and her ripped pants would deter anyone from her identity. What she was doing was not only stupid but dangerous. For her, for Hughie, even for Butcher who wasn't exactly her favorite person.
"Annie! I was about to call you." Hughie immediately opens the door once he spies her through the peephole. "That girl-"
Annie holds her breath, waiting for what information they'd scrounged up.
"Another fuckin' supe." Butcher steals Hughie's opportunity as his heavy gaze lands on Annie.
She blinks and turns to Hughie. "What's he talking about?"
Hughie ruefully glances at Butcher before finishing what he was going to say earlier "That girl is Homelander's sister."
"That's. . ." The air in her lungs was stolen for her as it sunk in. Homelander's predatory claim of her, his hovering. But did you even know? It didn't seem likely.
Sitting her down, Hughie goes on to divulge more of Vought's dirty secrets that they tried to bury. A lot of hard work went into finding anything about you. All they had to go off of was your name. Any lead they managed to get was followed up. It was a wonder that they ever came upon the truth of your origin.
Staring at the blotchy piece of paper that Frenchie handed her, Annie felt her mouth go completely dry. The page was weathered, an old copy that held stains on the surface. Some words were so faded that they were intelligible.
John [the Homelander] failure uncontrollable neutralize
Lack of normal childhood had greatly damaged the psyche of Homelander. The problem lay in the fact that Homelander was indestructible. There was no known way to seriously maim him.
That was where the conception of you was truly developed. You would be raised entirely different than how Homelander was. That was Vought's mistake.
This was a tightly held secret. No one was meant to know about it. It sounded like Stan Edgar and his gaggle of scientists did everything they possibly could to ensure that you being related to Homelander would never come out.
"I guess with the truth of Ryan, he must have grown even more suspicious and found the information himself." quietly mused Hughie.
"Where did you get this document?" Annie forces her eyes up to him.
That has Butcher scoffing "What's it to you?"
Hughie intercedes. "We broke into Vogelbaum's home. Wasn't exactly the easiest thing to do. He was one of the scientist in charge of Homelander when he was growing up."
Worriedly chewing on her bottom lip, Annie closes her eyes to replay all of Homelander's interactions with you. Something still wasn't right. Why didn't you know? And why hadn't Homelander told you yet?
All of those questions plague her trip back to the Tower. It was never a good idea for her to be gone for too long. Others might grow suspicious of her outings.
She shouldn't be poking her nose deeper into Vought's business. But she couldn't let you be influenced by someone like Homelander. He was lying to you like he was lying to the rest of the world about how much of a good person he was. He wasn't golden. He was tarnished and distorted. And by how you gaze at him, Annie worries that you'd be all too willing to be corrupted by him. Eventually Homelander will show his true colors. When he does it will be too late for you to back out. He won't let you. Annie could see your future unfold before her. How you'd be stuck in the Seven similar to everyone else, including herself.
Slipping back in easily, Annie had to shed her sweatshirt and pants to dawn her Starlight uniform. Well, it felt more like a costume to her now. Losing all meaning when she discovered the Seven were not as honorable as she'd first imagined.
Tumblr media
You'd done so well during your training, Homelander deemed it only right that you get a special treat: a special viewing of the new Vought supe movie. Better was that it would be screened in Vought's private theatre that was only accessible for the higher ups in the company. For tonight, he'd call in a favor to reserve the whole room just for you. Gourmet treats would be included and anything else you wanted.
Going back to your room to shower and change, you show up in a comfortable pair of yoga pants and an old graphic tee. You're about to put on a lightweight jacket until you catch the buzzing of your phone.
Hope that it's your mom and or dad, you rush to where your phone was charging only to be disappointed. Just a useless app notification.
You try not to let it get to you but it was already nearing a month since you got there and you hadn't spoken to your parents once. Weighing the phone in your hand, you contemplate trying to call them again. Mind changing when you notice the time. You replace your morose mood to one of giddiness and slip your phone into the pocket of your yoga pants.
You were a little surprised to see him still in his uniform and partially embarrassed for yourself. Maybe you should have dressed up a little bit more?
Homelander didn't appear to mind. In fact his smile grew.
"Should I go back and change?"
"No, you're perfect. Just the way you are." His smile disarms any concern you may have previously had. "In fact I feel overdressed."
"Next time we'll have to coordinate outfit aesthetics." You chuckle and follow him in. The theatre was no yet darkened. This wasn't like any screening room you'd been in before. Each seat was the size of a couch that were capable of reclining. Except for the two of you, the room was completely empty.
Seeing Homelander in such a setting was a bit weird. Homelander was doing something as normal as sitting down and watching a movie was bizarre. He even used the reclining button for his own seat.
Before the movie started, he calls in for food and drinks be brought to the both of you.
Once you were in possession of your snacks, the room darkens and the screen comes to life.
You like when Homelander becomes your personal commentator. He tells you behind the scenes bloopers that others would not be privy to on the special features. Both of you are loud and don't care when you laugh or talk. Honestly you didn't pay much attention to the movie. You were more entertained with talking to Homelander and spending time with him.
The feeling was mutual. Homelander had never felt as carefree as he did when he was with you. Your laugh was a beautiful one that he wanted to hear all the time.
And with you looking at him with eyes that shine lightening strike blue from the light of the movie, he really couldn't hold himself back. He removes one of his red gloves and moves it to tenderly brush against your cheek, asking without using his words for your lips.
From that single point of contact, your entire body is set aflame. Your breath lodged in your throat as you realize what is about to happen. To show your consent you tilt your face up and allow him access.
Homelander doesn't waste a second in closing the gap.

Anakin's nightmare
“Do you know where [Shmi] is?” “Why, I should expect she’s at Watto’s junkshop. I’m afraid he’s had her doing quite a lot of work there, ever since you ran away.”
Anakin winced. “But I didn’t run away,” he said. “I left. To become a Jedi.”
“Oh, of course you did, sir,” said C-3PO, his voice filled with good cheer. “I never meant to suggest that you abandoned any responsibilities you might have had here, when you were just a child. After all, we’re so very proud of you and your achievements. Not that we actually know about what you’ve accomplished in the past nine years, since we’ve never received any messages from you, but I do get the distinct impression that your mother still cares very much about you. And she does have a vivid imagination, so she very easily assumed that you must be…”
The droid was still talking as Anakin ran out of the hovel and into the broiling radiance of Tatooine’s twin suns. Although it appeared to be afternoon, when the city of Mos Espa should have been teeming with street vendors and pedestrians, there was no sign of life.
Anakin felt a sense of panic. He ran as fast as he could through the empty streets until he arrived outside the tall, bell-shaped structure that was Watto’s junkshop.
Like his own hovel, the junkshop appeared to be exactly as Anakin remembered it. Yet when he ducked through the shop’s entrance portal and entered the cluttered interior, he found that Watto had added something new: In front of a workbench, there was a low cage with thick metal bars.
A filthy figure, clothed in dirty rags, was huddled within the cage.
It was Shmi Skywalker. Anakin’s mother.
She looked up at him with fear in her eyes. “Who are you?” she asked. Her voice sounded old and tired.
“It’s me, Mom,” Anakin said, dropping to his knees before the cage. “Anakin. Annie. I’m grown up now. I’ve come to rescue you.”
“Anakin?” Shmi said in disbelief. She slowly shook her head. “But you can’t be. You can’t be here. You’re gone.”
“I’ll get you out, Mom,” Anakin said as he gripped the bars. He looked around. There was no sign of Watto.
“It is you,” Shmi said. “It really is you.”
Anakin tugged at the bars with all his might, but they would not yield. Then he remembered he was a Jedi. He could do anything!
He reached to his belt, expecting to find his lightsaber, but his fingers slapped against his side. His lightsaber was gone. He tried to recall if he had clipped it to his belt before leaving his hovel, or if he had even brought it with him to Tatooine.
He tried to remember when and where he had seen it last. He felt confused. How had he arrived back on Tatooine? He could not remember.
Desperate, he glanced at Watto’s tool shelf and saw a fusion-cutter and power pry-bar. He grabbed for them, but he could not pick them up. He tried again, tearing at them, but the tools would not budge. It seemed they had been welded to the shelf.
Anakin collapsed beside the cage, his head smacking against the bars. “I swear, I’ll get you out!” he sobbed.
Shmi reached between the bars and pushed her oil-stained fingers through her son’s blond hair. “Oh, Annie,” she said. “Don’t cry. Please, don’t cry. I’m fine. Really, I’m fine.”
“Mom, look at you! Watto left you in a cage!” Anakin said, outraged.
“No, he didn’t, Annie,” Shmi said sadly. “Watto didn’t leave me. You did.”
Suddenly, Shmi, the junkshop, and all of Tatooine were swept away from Anakin’s vision, and he was engulfed in darkness. It wrapped around him like a cold, black shroud that cut him off from the entire galaxy.
Unable to see, his only awareness was of the steady rise and fall of his own breathing.
Something was wrong.
The breathing sounded mechanical and labored, as if it were being done through some kind of respirator. Anakin wondered if the breathing were his own, or if he had been mistaken about the sound’s origin. Perhaps, he thought, I’m not alone in this dark place. He held his breath and listened to the void. The sound of mechanized breathing stopped. And then Anakin felt his throat constricting.
The darkness coiled even tighter around him, working its way through his skin, seizing his lungs and veins and muscles and bones until he knew it was about to consume him.
Then the dream ended as it always did, with Anakin trying to shout but fearing that no one, not even he, would ever hear his cry. And then he awoke. [Ryder Windham. Star Wars Adventures - The Hostage Princess]
