I believe that one of the many reasons why Annabel freaked out It's because she's suspicious of Lenore's friends (as we all know, she doesn't trust anyone etc etc) but also because she's probably jealous. I mean, they've known each other for a long time and have faced so many difficulties along the way, whether because of their relationship or personal problems, to the point of dying together. Now imagine your wife, the person you love most on earth, whom you would kill, die and live in absolute disgrace just to see her happy, easily pass on all that trust and devotion that used to be yours, to a supposed friend she recently met. I can easily understand how Annabel must be feeling humiliated and replaced, because no matter how much she know that she just can't be around Lenore everytime, she wouldn't imagine reaching that level where Lenore continues to insist on having friends instead of focusing on the plan that Annabel has in mind. And again, yes, Lenore doesn't know about the plan (neither do we), but in Annabel's view, Lenore is completely admired and would do anything for her, so following what Annabel has in mind: she will definitely trust me and play along.

not questioning would be simple in her head. In any case, I truly believe that in addition to the main reasons, she must be feeling left out and jealous, especially after she said "would you even notice i was gone?"
