The Art Of Redemption - Timeline

Okay, so this isn't a timeline strictly for The Art of Redemption. It's more like a timeline for characters that appear in that story as well as in We Are Sugar Valentine, since the two are more than tangentially connected.

We Are Sugar Valentine is taking place in present day (2022-2024) and The Art of Redemption takes place in 2011-2012.

I noticed that several people may have been confused because I tend to jump around a lot between stories and also with random vignettes. It's all perfectly clear in my head, but since nobody else is living in my head, I thought a timeline of important events for all the major characters would help everyone make sense of it.

Anyway, for anyone who's interested, you can find the timeline under the cut:

Beth-Anne's coach, Nancy Rogers, lets Jason and Beth-Anne move in with her until Jason gets a job and the siblings find a place of their own

Nancy helps Beth-Anne and Jason track down their father. He doesn't want contact with them but he sends them money each month.

Death of Jason Jones

Beth-Anne is in an accident during the off-season that ends her competitive skating career

Stan and Milena take Beth-Anne into their home while she recovers from her injuries

1992

Beth-Anne is sufficiently recovered from her accident to move out of Stan and Milena's house and go forward with her life, and she decides to go to university. She also decides to keep skating, even if she can no longer do it competitively

Grandpa Nikolai, Mikhail and Elena become Canadian citizens

1994

Nikolai competes in his first ISU event, in the Novice division, and wins silver

Nikolai’s grandfather gives him Champion the teddy bear

1996

Beth-Anne graduates with a degree in education and gets a job at an all-girls school as a physical education teacher

Beth-Anne stops skating at the Brindleton Bay Skating Club because seeing her friends and rivals continue to get ready for competitions while she just skates during community ice times is too painful and stress-inducing for her

Peace immigrates from Nigeria to Canada with her children Mercy (3) and Praise (1).

2004

Nikolai wins his first World Figure Skating Championship medal (silver)

2006

Nikolai wins his first World Championship gold medal

Stephen and Sarah divorce, and it’s messy. It's also highly publicized due to their respective statuses in sports and entertainment

Stephen is granted full custody of his son Sebastian

Mishka gets drafted into the NHL and begins his pro hockey career with an American team

Beth-Anne becomes Brett's coach

2007

Stephen retires from his athletic career and joins his father and aunt in the family's sports equipment company

Stephen adopts Sofia. She is seven, the same age as Sebastian

2008

Nikolai and Anya get married

Natascha marries local construction worker, Alex MacDonald

2010

Nikolai wins his second World Championship gold medal in a row and his third Worlds gold overall

Ginger also wins gold at Worlds

Ginger becomes a Canadian citizen

2011 (The Art Of Redemption)

Nikolai seriously injures his knee while competing at the four Continents Championship in January

Beth-Anne lets Nikolai stay at her place while he's recovering from his injury and dealing with his marital issues

Eden has his debut at Senior level. It doesn't go as well as he expects

Ginger and Liam divorce

Ginger goes to Japan with Sebastian and Sofia at the end of the school year

Stephen offers to let Ginger live in a cottage on his property and Sebastian is thrilled because he gets to live so close to his “bonus mom”

Haru gets recruited as a J-pop trainee while performing at his school's music festival.

2017

After four years together, Nikolai and Mishka part ways, due to a number of issues. They promise to keep in touch, and to try and get back together some day, if and when their lives stabliize

Haru begins his adventure as a trainee and meets future bandmates Ryu, Keigo, Senjiro and Taiji

2018

TheJ-pop group Sugar Valentine debuts. Eden and Charlie are instantly huge fans

2020

Charlie goes to college to study cosmetology and aesthetics and starts taking Japanese classes. His dream is to become a professional stylist in the entertainment industry

Sugar Valentine goes on tour for the first time

2022 (We Are Sugar Valentine)

Charlie is ready to head to Japan to begin his adventure. He and Eden have never been apart, and Eden decides to go to Japan with him. Nikolai is heartbroken at this development, as he and Eden have been together as coach and student for years.

Despite not wanting to be separated from Eden, Nikolai hesitates to go to Japan because he's an extreme homebody and doesn't want to uproot himself from everything familiar in his life

Eden finds a new coach in Japan. It goes absolutely terribly.

Charlie lands his dream job, as part of the stylist team for Sugar Valentine

Haru sees pictures of Eden in Charlie's portfolio and begs to be introduced

Charlie introduces Eden and Haru. They quickly become an item

Nikolai eventually joins Eden in Japan, after learning how badly things are going for Eden. It's a difficult adjustment for Nikolai

Nikolai is delighted to discover that Ginger is coaching Sebastian at the exact rink where Eden is training. They've kept in touch over the years, but the physical distance between them has made things challenging. They waste no time in catching up

Mishka decides he's going to retire after the 2022-23 hockey season. He needs knee surgery that he's put off for too long

Sugar Valentine goes on tour again

Mishka contacts Nikolai and tells him that he's coming to see him for his birthday in December

Mishka gives Nikolai a kitten for his birthday. They name him Boris

Nikolai is juggling Anya's continued presence in his life and his feeling that maybe he and Ginger could be more than friends

Nikolai asks for time, and Mishka vows to wait for him

2023

Ginger and Nikolai experiment with having a relationship beyond friendship. It doesn't work out because as much as they love each other, they realize they'll never get past thinking of each other as siblings.

Eden wins his first World Championship gold medal

Mishka contacts Nikolai and tells him his surgery is scheduled for the first week of June. He asks Nikolai to come home for the summer, to help take care of him while he recovers, and Nikolai agrees.

Mishka moves into Nikolai's house during his recovery

Even though they haven't been together as a couple for several years, both Nikolai and Mishka realize their feelings for each other are just as strong as ever. They pick up right where they left off

Eden comes home around the same time as Nikolai. They mutually decide not to return to Japan.

Haru buys Eden a house in Brindleton Bay

Mishka does not move out of Nikolai's house in August, like they originally planned.

Mishka proposes to Nikolai at Christmas. They plan their wedding for the following summer

2024

Sugar Valentine undertakes their third tour

Haru gives Eden a horse for his birthday. He also gives himself one for his own birthday, which is only 19 days after Eden's

Mishka rescues a horse. He helps Eden and Haru with theirs.

Natascha finally decides it's time to move out of her parents' house and get her own place again

Mishka's sister Vika comes to visit him and Nikolai for the summer

Nikolai's grandfather decides to move into a seniors' community.

Grandpa Nikolai meets someone from his past, and has big feelings about it

Nikolai and Mishka get married in July

Fresh flowers and lace ribbons embellish the seats. Sunlight passes through the tinted glass, casting mottled colours on the pure white tablecloths.

Everyone’s watching the ceremony quietly. Only the emcee is reading out the vows in a slow and solemn manner.

Emcee: Will you, the groom, take the bride as your wife? For richer or for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish her, and to be faithful to her forever?

The man nods. Then, the emcee turns to me.

Emcee: Will you, the bride, take the groom as your husband? For richer or for poorer, in sickness or in health, to support and respect him, to be faithful to him, and to hold his hand forever?

The moment he finishes speaking, I can feel everyone’s eyes on me, waiting for my response.

I know the next two words that I should be saying in order for the rehearsal to proceed. But when I see the man in front of me, I become a little hesitant.

MC: I...

With a bang, the large door is pushed open forcefully.

??: She won’t.

A familiar voice brings with it an irresistible sense of order, pelting onto my heart like a pebble pelting on water.

The music stops abruptly, and I turn my head towards the door.

MC: Gavin?!

While I’m in disbelief, he takes large strides towards me. His steady footsteps cover the sound of my rapidly beating heart, tapping on my chest.

The ginkgo brooch on his collar reflects specks of golden light, and are as bright as the gaze he’s sending over to me.

Supporting himself on the edge of the stage with a hand, he leaps up to stand in front of me.

MC: Gavin, you-

Gavin: I’m here to kidnap the bride.

His words are as direct as his actions. Taking my hand, he tugs me in front of himself, as though announcing a certain right.

Minor and Willow: Wow...

Gavin: This is my bride. I’m taking her away.

An irresistible force wraps me into his arms. All of a sudden, I feel a sense of weightlessness -

Hoisting me up by the waist, Gavin takes large strides out of the door.

The speeding wheels roll up dust along the roadside as we drive off. In the end, we make a gradual halt in a park in the suburbs. 

The “groom who kidnapped the bride” dismounts from the motorcycle. After removing my helmet, he carefully tidies my slightly messy hair. I narrow my eyes and look at him.

MC: Can you tell me why Officer Gavin suddenly appeared when he was supposed to be on a mission? ...and also kidnapped me from a rehearsal in such a grand manner?

Gavin: Because it’s Valentine’s Day. Don’t worry, I exchanged a vacation day with a squad mate, so I’ll go back after today.

Gavin takes my hand. The warmth from his palm melts my surprise bit by bit. However, I can’t help but feel a little worried when I recall the show which was filmed halfway.

MC: I need to give Anna a call and arrange for the shoot...

Gavin: Don't worry. They’ve probably already made arrangements. Kidnapping you... was part of the plan.

Recalling how Willow and Minor had cheered earlier, I realise that they’ve long since been part of the “rebels”.

MC: No wonder Willow said that I looked really good in this wedding dress in the morning and wanted me to be a part of the filming. When did you guys start colluding?

Despite grumbling about the “turncoats”, I feel sweetheart bubbles surfacing and popping in my heart in a constant stream.

Gavin: I wanted to give you a surprise, so I asked Minor to make some arrangements.

Swinging my legs leisurely while sitting on the backseat of Sparky, my tone floats upwards.

MC: Does this mean I don’t have more work today?

Gavin: Mm. Your only work is to spend this festival with me.

Gavin hands me an exquisite-looking card. After taking it, I blink.

MC: Isn't this a prop card from the show?

The pearl coloured paper exudes a layer of faint pinkish pearlite. It’s an important prop from the show I’m currently producing on love and marriage.

In the show, guests who are couples wear wedding dresses while using these cards to create handmade “wedding certificates” that belong to the both to them.

Gavin: A few days ago, you mentioned over the phone that the interactions of the guests who made these certificates were very interesting, and that you really wanted to try it for yourself. I wonder if my “bride” would be willing to complete this “mission” with me? 

He leans against Sparky, looking at me with a smile. His collar is open slightly, and sunlight dyes his frame in a layer of hazy warmth, giving him a different gentleness from the usual.

Seeing such a Gavin, my lips curl upwards involuntarily. I reach out to hook his pinky finger.

MC: Of course I’m willing. Which is why I’m applying to be the Commander of this mission. I’ll be responsible for ensuring that we complete this mission of preparing the certificate happily and in a fulfilling way.

Gavin does a casual salute, coming closer to me with a soft chuckle.

Gavin: As you command.

Sunlight in February brings with it a perfect warmth. Being enveloped by such tender rays of light lifts my mood.

MC: In the show, every couple created different wedding certificates. Does Officer Gavin have any ideas on our certificate?

Gavin: Since it’s a wedding certificate, there must be a wedding photo.

As though he’s performing magic, Gavin takes out an adorable little wolf polaroid camera.

Gavin: The first goal is to take photographs.

MC: Wow, you’re very well prepared.

Gavin: This is an important “mission”, so comprehensive preparations are a necessity.

He hangs the endearingly silly little wolf camera around his neck, giving him an entirely different aura as compared to his usual self. The stark contrast causes his angular face to become more adorable.

Recalling Gavin’s usual way of posing in photographs, the little demon in my heart flaps its wings.

MC: Since I’m the Commander today, Officer Gavin has to listen to my commands, correct?

Gavin: Of course.

MC: In that case, stand over there and make a heart shape with your fingers~ I’ll take a few photos of you first.

Gavin hesitates for a moment. Then, he brings both hands in front of his chest and forms a tiny heart.

Gavin: Erm... like this?

MC: Pfft. Mister, don’t be so stiff. Be a little cuter! I’ll do a demonstration!

I hop to the side, raising both arms over my head to form a gigantic heart.

Gavin: Cough. I won’t be as cute as you if I did it.

He turns away slightly, showing a hint of stubbornness while attempting to bargain with me. Stifling my laughter, my expression remains stern as I command him to do the gesture.

MC: Everything needs to be tried. We’re taking “wedding photos”, so they must be different from the usual photos.

After hearing my intense requests, Gavin adjusts his posture according to mine. However, he ends up turning the heart shape pose into a military stance.

While I’m laughing uncontrollably, he releases a sigh.

Gavin: It’s a little difficult. Commander, could you correct my posture?

MC: No problem!

Gripping the hand that he’s holding above his head, I make him relax his stiff arm. Then, I hold onto his shoulder, tilting it towards the side.

MC: Like this. Just curve your body to the left a little more... Not bad! Just smile and...

Feeling my face grow warm, I quickly take a few steps back. Then, I press the shutter.

MC: Let’s take more photos together!

I turn the polaroid camera towards the both of us.

The hair at my ears sway in the breeze. A hand reaches out from behind to tidy my stray hairs before steadying the polaroid camera.

Gavin: I’ll do it. 

With an incomparably natural movement, he wraps me completely in his personal territory. The corners of his lips spring upwards slightly, and he adjusts the camera seriously.

I smile broadly at the camera.

Before the shutter is pressed, a kiss is printed on my temple, bringing with it his unique scent.

This moment is frozen in the frame.

I’m walking beside Gavin, flipping through the photos from earlier contentedly.

MC: Sure enough, watching others making certificates in the show is different from experiencing it myself.

Gavin: How so?

MC: As compared to watching the surprise of other people through the camera, there’s more anticipation when I’m exploring the next unknown!

I wave the photos in my hand, which document all sorts of lively actions that Gavin and I did together. Each photo is an out-of-print treasure. 

Gavin: What kind of surprises did the others experience?

MC: Let’s see... I remember that there was an episode where the “bride” and “groom” were literature professors. They prepared a vow in classical Chinese. A few other couples were more spontaneous and pasted the romantic and pleasant surprises they experienced that day onto the certificate. In short, all of them were incredibly spectacular!

Gavin lowers his head slightly, and he seems to be mulling over something. Thinking that he misunderstood me, I quickly add on.

MC: But creating precious memories with the most important person is worth remembering even if it simply involves mundane things!

Gavin chuckles, not expressing an opinion.

Gavin: Let’s walk along this path. We might get inspired along the way. Like you said, unknown surprises are worth anticipating.

MC: I’ll follow after Officer Gavin’s footsteps~

We hold hands while walking slowly. Fallen flowers from the trees have spread out across the ground to form a carpet. A refreshing breeze rolls up a faint fragrance of grass, playfully swaying the crystals pendants on my wedding dress.

The park is a little more crowded than usual. Children laugh while they run in front of us, and the boss from a nearby shooting stall is currently calling out for customers.

MC: Do you still remember that limited-time Valentine’s Day performance in the park that I mentioned?

Gavin: I remember. You said that you wanted to see the magic show.

MC: Your missions usually end late, and I didn’t have any hopes of watching the performance together. I never thought that we’d make it in time for it today. The magic shows are rare, so we’ll only be able to catch it if we’re lucky.

Gavin: We might be lucky today.

I turn my head, only to see Gavin glancing at his watch and occasionally scanning his surroundings. He seems be looking for something.

MC: What’s wrong? Is something going to happen?

Gavin: It’s nothing.

Without letting anything slip, he tightens his grip on my hand. With an upward curl of his lips, he returns his gaze to the front.

A gigantic bunny mascot walks over. It points at me before pointing at Gavin. Then, it draws a big heart in the air and begins clapping.

Since I’m in a wedding gown, it seems to treat Gavin and I as a pair of newlyweds. We exchange a glance and laugh, not clarifying this cute misunderstanding.

Without realising it, more and more people appear in the park. Gavin wraps me in his arms, shielding me from some children who are running around.

MC: This place is getting crowded. Should we head over there?

Gavin: It seems even more crowded over there. The scenery near that tree is pretty good. We could go there and take a break.

Gavin’s gaze is a little unnatural. Despite feeling puzzled, I nod.

Holding my hand, we arrive at the tree. Then, he lowers his head to glance at his watch.

Gavin: Let’s wait here.

MC: Wait for what?

Gavin looks up with a meaningful smile.

Gavin: If we wait here, we might be able to find the inspiration we’ve been searching for.

As though proving his statement, the sounds of cheers and music drift from behind us.

Light pink fog explodes from a colourful box, spreading to form a gigantic pink candy floss in the air.

After the fog scatters, a man wearing a suit appears in that exact spot. He’s wearing a golden-rimmed mask, and he’s the magician who has been really popular lately!

MC: Gavin, we caught the magic show!

I tug on Gavin’s hand excitedly. The corners of his lips tug upwards into a smile.

Gavin: Sure enough, our luck’s pretty good with you around.

The magician moves closer to the dancers surrounding him, stopping in front of us.

Magician: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the magical world of fantasy!

Along with his words, several colourful bubbles rise from the surroundings, embellishing this area with cuteness and innocent playfulness.

With a wave of the magician’s hand, soft and tender flower petals swirl around. In this magnificent snow of flower petals, he gives Gavin and I a gentlemanly bow.

Magician: I’m very happy to encounter such a blissful pair on this special day. I wonder if the both of you would be wiling to assist me in performing a magic trick?

Gavin: Sure.

Gavin agrees before I can even react, which leaves me slightly stunned. There’s a smile of anticipation in his eyes as he offers his hand to me.

MC: I’m willing too!

Magician: Groom, please stretch out both of your hands with your palms facing up. Bride, place your hands on the Groom’s palms.

Under the attentive gazes of everyone, Gavin takes my hands. The warmth from his palms can be felt from across my thin white gauze gloves, spreading from my fingertips to my heart.

Magician: Next, I’ll accept the guidance of the God of Love, giving this pair of blissful newlyweds the most wonderful blessings.

After saying this, a pure white silk cloth appears in the magician’s hands. He covers it over our overlapping hands.

Magician: I’d like to invite the both of you to think about each other with your whole heart. That way, the gift of happiness will arrive.

I hold my breath, my heart accelerating slightly. Tilting my head to sneak a peek at Gavin, I see that he’s looking at the white silk cloth in his hands seriously, pursing his lips.

From underneath the silk cloth, I rub his palm with my fingers. Sensing my small movements, he pinches me back gently.

I detect a rare nervousness and anticipation from his expression.

With a snap of his fingers, the magician pulls the white silk cloth away. All of a sudden, we’re holding a snow white veil in our hands.

This pleasant surprise causes my heart to skip a beat. I look up, meeting Gavin’s gaze.

The nervousness in his eyes from earlier is completely gone. All that's left is warmth reminiscent of crushed sunlight, sparkling and glittering.

Gavin: I heard that putting the veil on the bride symbolises living in conjugal bliss till old age. May I put the veil on for my “bride”?

I doubt any girl would refuse such a request under the sparkling gaze of their beloved. In the midst of my jubilant heartbeats, I smile.

MC: Of course you can.

Gavin lifts the veil. A refreshing breeze blows the pure white veil open, causing the delicate and exquisite patterns to unfold before my eyes.

Amid the cheers and sounds of well-wishes, he shifts a little closer to me. The white veil lands on the top of my head gently and steadily.

Despite having an additional layer of translucent veil over me, I can sense his gaze growing even deeper and more ardent.

Gavin: It suits you very well.

His murmur cuts across all the noise and lands straight on my eardrums, causing all the blood in my body to become warmer.

Magician: Let’s send our most beautiful wishes to this happy pair!

The magician removes his hat. A flock of white doves fly out of the black formal hat, their wings outstretched as they head towards the horizon, reminiscent of white clouds dancing in the sky.

A light breeze brushes a corner of the veil. In my peripheral vision, I spot a golden coloured embroidered ginkgo leaf stirring along with the breeze.

It’s as though it’s been waiting for me since a very long time ago.

I turn my head.

Gavin is currently standing behind me, carrying a bouquet of fresh flowers.

The sounds in my surroundings gradually turn quiet. All the light and colours in the world are now gathered onto him.

Gavin places the flowers into my hands. Then, he takes out a golden yellow flower from the bouquet - it’s a flower made out of ginkgo leaves.

Gavin: The most beautiful flower for my most beautiful bride.

He comes slightly closer to me, sticking the flower into my hair, next to my ear.

Gavin: When it comes to creating cherished memories with my most important person, I don’t want them to be too ordinary.

Every image related to him from today brings with them a faint light. They gather before me slowly, gradually forming a perfect answer.

The “unknown surprise” that my heart has been anticipating - he has brought it to me in the most romantic way.

Gavin lifts his hand and glances at his watch.

Gavin: It’s 1.14pm. The timing’s just right. Since I snatched you away from that “wedding” earlier, I’ll give you a “wedding” to make up for it now.

With my hand in his, Gavin and I walk up the white marble steps.

Glass aroma diffusers adorn both sides of the stone steps. Amid the swaying candlelight, what enters my vision is a small white chapel.

The small path of marble is lined with flower baskets. Balloons and bells are entwined around the white railings, and white courtyard lanterns hang on tree branches.

Photos of Gavin and I are strung on both sides. A plush toy bunny and wolf are placed on a white table in the middle, leaning against each other. 

Reaching out to cradle both dolls in my arms, I look at Gavin.

MC: I didn’t expect that aside from improving in your photography skills, Mr Gavin also decorated this “wedding” really nicely.

Gavin: I was short on time, so I couldn’t prepare sufficiently...

Perhaps lacking in confidence, he sneaks a glance at me. Seeing his flushed ears makes me smile involuntarily.

MC: This level of preparation doesn’t count as sufficient? Mr Gavin’s too humble! You also arranged for the magician to appear, didn’t you?

Gavin: That’s right.

There’s a different type of cuteness in every photograph. After a round of selection, we unanimously decide on that photograph in which Gavin launched a “sneak attack” on me.

Although it’s a little blurry and my eyes are wide from shock, it isn’t difficult to see that it’s overflowing with sweetness.

MC: This is the N+1 time that Officer Gavin has successfully launched a sneak attack on me. When will I succeed?

Gavin: Sneak attacks require skill. You’ll succeed with more practice.

With great care, we paste this beautiful accident on the inner page of the card. Gavin takes out the flower made out of ginkgo leaves from my hair.

Gavin: You mentioned that quite a number of guests pasted keepsakes on the cover. Why don’t we use this?

Taking the flower from him, I realise that every single “petal” has a beautiful golden colour.

MC: Did you make this yourself?

Gavin: Mm. I watched a tutorial on how to use leaves to form flowers. I found it pretty interesting, so I tried making it. It’d probably look good to use a petal from it.

It suddenly dawns on me that even before he came here, he had already prepared all of the surprises, and was simply waiting for me to uncover them one by one.

MC: But this flower’s so pretty... it’d fall apart.

Gavin: It’s okay. If it falls apart, I’ll make another one for you.

Gavin wraps me in his arms. Taking my hand, we carefully pull out the most beautiful leaf.

After sticking on the keepsake, we write both of our names on the card. With that, a simple “wedding certificate” officially emerges.

Liking it so much that I can’t bear to put it down, I fiddle around with it.

MC: Whenever I look at this next time, I’ll definitely remember how dashing Mr Gavin was when he kidnapped the bride today.

I place emphasis on the words “kidnapped the bride”, causing Gavin to chuckle.

Gavin: I’ve said it before. You can only be my “bride”.

MC: Do you know something? When the emcee was reciting those solemn vows during the rehearsal this morning, not a single word went into my head. Because that “groom” wasn’t you.

Gavin takes my hand, slowly entwining our fingers together.

Gavin brings my fingers to his warm lips.

Gavin: That’s because my girl is worthy of every pleasant surprise and romantic gesture. Whether it’s right now or in the future, I’m willing to keep you company in fulfilling all of your wishes. This “certificate” is my promise, and you can collect it from me anytime.

The scorching warmth from his palm is akin to his most straightforward sentiments, surging into my heart in a continuous stream.

Bringing his hand to my chest, I close my eyes.

MC: I’m willing to keep you company in fulfilling all of your wishes too.

Sunlight filters through the branches, casting mottled light on us. A breeze causes the bells on the floral wreaths to release clear and melodious sounds, reminiscent of intimate whispers of the forest.

MC: Gavin, let’s mark this “certificate” with a seal belonging to us!

Gavin: Okay.

Retrieving a tube of lipstick, I apply some colour onto our thumbs. Then, we leave our prints underneath the vows.

I embrace Gavin from behind, gazing into his eyes earnestly.

A hint of a blazing spark surfaces in the depths of his amber eyes, dyeing the peaceful and quiet breeze with a scorching heat.

The hand on the nape of my neck exerts slight pressure. Closing my eyes, I leave myself entirely to him.

Despite the countless magnificent sights I saw today, the one that reels me in most is still that pair of eyes.

A soft kiss accompanies mingling and inseparable breaths, gradually growing deeper...

He grips my wrist, pressing the ginkgo leaf on my bracelet against my pulse. My fingertips tremble slightly, bumping against the ginkgo brooch in front of his heart.

The two ginkgo leaves seem to create a miraculous link, bringing our heartbeats closer and closer...

Until they completely coincide.

A gentle breeze entwines around us, bringing us even closer.

The wind gently flips open the wedding certificate which has been left at the side. Two overlapping red fingerprints happen to form the shape of a heart.

The bell of the chapel, which hasn’t rung in a very long time, is stirred by the wind, its chimes echoing in the air...
