“Are you sure you don’t want me to stay?” Jihyo was pressing her elbow into the center console as she spoke out of the passenger window. She squinted her eyes at Anna when the girl didn’t respond, waiting for an answer from her, “I’ll sit at another table and if he tries anything I’ll jump him. I’m serious.”
Anna was quick to shake her head, pulling the strap of her purse up higher on her shoulder, “Nono please don’t do that. I’ll be okay, we’re just meeting this time so I can properly apologize.” Her eyes seemed to drift away as she rushed out the words, Jihyo’s curious eyes seeming like they were burning a hole into her. The incident backstage played on a continuous, haunting loop in her head, like a bug that won’t leave you alone, and she hasn’t stopped feeling bad ever since.
“Hey, call me when you’re done and I’ll come get you,” Jihyo pouted in defeat, making sure she had Anna’s attention before putting the car in drive and smiling at her, waving out the window as she pulled away.
Anna swallowed thickly as she watched the car drive down the street, tucking a fallen lock of hair back behind her ear. Part of her wished she said yes for Jihyo to stay. At least it would’ve killed a little of the awkwardness that was for sure going to happen. But she was a big girl and could do this herself. She took a deep breath in as she turned on her heels, pulling the door to the small café open.
A faint blush dusted her cheeks when she did a quick scan of the room, eyes falling directly onto the man she had come to see. He was sitting in the back corner of the room, elbow pressed firmly on the table as he scrolled through his phone. She nibbled on the inside of her cheek as she held onto the strap of her purse and let her feet guide her over to his table.
“Oh, Youngmi!” Joshua snapped his eyes over to her as she approached the table, shutting his phone off and standing up from the chair to greet her properly.
“Hi there,” She smiled at him and internally cringed at the awkward wave of her hand, “I hope I’m not late. I-I got a little lost along the way and I just-.”
“Huh? Lost?”
She pinched her eyebrows together in confusion as she swallowed down the lump quickly building in the back of her throat again, shuffling her feet from side to side.
“I-uh was meeting Hoshi here but I don’t know where he is. He was supposed to be here by now,” Joshua rubbed at the back of his neck as the tips of his ears pricked with redness.
“You’re meeting Hoshi here? He texted me and said yesterday that you had wanted to meet me here today?”
She was just as confused as he was. She pulled out her phone and brought up the text message sent to her last night to confirm for herself that she wasn’t going crazy before turning her phone towards Joshua.
His eyes scanned over the messages between the two, his lips forming a frown as he tapped on his own phone to see the illuminated twelve o’clock displayed across his lockscreen.
“That little-,” He let out a sigh, closing his eyes briefly before his face softened and grinned at her, “I’m assuming this is our lunch meeting.”
“I guess it is,” The awkwardness seemed to fizzle out as she smiled and nodded her head, tucking her phone away and loosening the grip she had on her bag strap. She reached her hand out to pull out the back of the chair but was stopped almost instantly by a much larger hand grazing hers.
“Wait, let me get that for you,” He was quick to move around the table, gripping the metal rung and scooting the chair backwards. Anna’s cheeks redden at his actions, thanking him quickly before shouldering off her purse and sitting down into the chair, hanging her purse off of the empty seat beside her.
“This place is actually really nice.” She looked around the café with bright eyes. It was a little on the rustic side, shades of brown complimented each other with random pops of greenery scattered around accenting everything together, “I’m loving the cozy vibe.”
Joshua dipped his head down in a laugh, rubbing the back of his neck out of shyness, “Yeah, I heard about this place from Hoshi actually.”
“He seems to have orchestrated everything,” Anna could feel herself grinning as she thanked Joshua when he handed her the tabletop menu to have a look at.
“Yeah, yeah he definitely has his nose everywhere.” He agreed with an echoed laugh.
She took her bottom lip between her teeth, biting down gently as she studied over the menu. Everything looked and sounded delicious, it was hard to choose.
“Well, what are you thinking of getting? It might make this decision a little easier to pick something-,” Anna did another quick sweep over the menu before pulling her eyes away looking up, her cheeks instantly heating up when she had caught sight of Joshua’s eye’s lingering on her and the faintest smile on his lips, “What is it?”
“I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to stare, I was just...um-,” His cheeks mimicked her redness as he licked his lips and looked away quickly.
“No it’s okay!” She smiled at him as she laid the menu down on the table. Joshua turned back towards her and the butterflies in her stomach fluttered as he swiped a hand through his hair out of nervousness. She wasn’t going to mention to him that she had found it endearing.
“I was thinking of maybe getting this breakfast sandwich,” He drew her attention down towards one of the many pictures scattered across the menu showing the top rated foods, “If it’s anything like the picture, then I’m sure it’s gonna taste incredible.”
“It’s decided! Let’s make it two then!”
As they waited for their order to be called, her eyes dropped down to his phone set off on the side of the table, focusing her attention on the crack at the top of the screen, “Was that from me? I swear I’ll pay to have it fixed!”
His eyes widened as he took a sip from his coffee, shaking his head rapidly when her finger grazed over the obvious crack. He swallowed down his coffee, giving her a warm smile, “Anna, you’re gonna worry yourself crazy. I promise, don’t worry about it.”
His hand laid gently on top of hers, pulling her attention up towards him instead of on his phone after noticing her eyes not leaving the device. Her lips curled upwards into a small smile as she nodded her head, “You’re right, sorry- I mean, sorry-.” Anna closed her eyes in defeat, a sharp grin forming on her mouth knowing she wasn’t ever going to win the battle.
Joshua brought his hand up to shield his laugh away the best he could, tilting his head backwards on the chair.
Containing themselves together, Joshua’s hands clasped together as he rested his elbows on the table. In an attempt to calm her nerves down again, she copied his stance on the table, the two of them grinning back and forth at each other.
“Right, let’s play twenty questions. I’d ask where you were from but your accent kinda gives it away.”
“Is it really that noticeable?” Anna’s eyes crinkled as she joked back, scrunching her nose up into a laugh when Joshua pulled his thumb and pointer finger together to indicate a small amount, “Okay my turn, I actually don’t know this but I’ll ask it, where are you from? It’s so boring I know.”
“Hey, it’s still a question! And Los Angeles, born and raised. I moved here when I was seventeen? Eighteen? I honestly can’t remember anymore.”
Anna’s eyes perked up when he mentioned LA, with some of her relatives living there, she used to frequent visiting as often as she could, “I’ve always loved LA. I can’t really say it’s much different to Sydney though.”
“Hmm let me think,” Joshua rested his palms on the table as he leaned back in his seat, “Favorite childhood memory?”
“Ooo okay!” Anna grabbed her phone and went to the pictures app, opening up a folder containing pictures of her and her family, scrolling through until she found the ones that she needed to go along with the story. She flipped the phone around for Joshua to view them better, letting him flip through the pictures.
“So my dad works at a wildlife rescue and there were always a few animals that unfortunately couldn’t be released back into the wild for whatever the reason, so they housed and took care of them at the rescue,” Joshua looked up at Anna with a warm gaze, letting her know that he was listening, “Sometimes when I would come after school, my dad would let me hold the orphaned baby animals and I’d get to help feed them and play with them.”
“Look at you!” Joshua turned the phone around and showed the image of Anna sitting on the floor playing around with a baby kangaroo, “That’s so neat! I bet you were popular in school!”
“Everyone definitely wanted to be my friend after knowing I got to play with the animals.” She smiled at the memory as he continued to flip through the pictures.
He handed Anna back her phone after he was finished and without even skipping a beat, “Next time I visit, I’ll take you with me and we can go visit my dad!”
Anna’s eyes widened when she realized what she had said, her cheeks blushing a shade of light crimson, “O-Only if you’d want to that is!”
“Are you kidding? That would be an amazing experience.”
Anna cleared her throat as she smiled back at him, “Okay your turn, favorite childhood memory?”
Before he even had the chance to respond back, their order number was called from the front counter, pulling them both back into reality of where they were and what they were actually doing.
After leaving the café, the two of them had exchanged numbers and continued their game of twenty questions which in turn became forty questions the entire way home, going back and forth between the two of them.
“I guess Hoshi knew what he was doing,” Anna smiled down at her lap as another text message from Joshua came through.
‘Had a nice time today! :)
Would love to do it again sometime!
Get home safely!’
“Hmm, Soonyoung?” Jihyo’s puzzled face went unnoticed by Anna as she was too busy texting a message back to Joshua. She pulled her bottom lip between her teeth as she went back and forth on what to text back, deciding on something short and sweet.
‘Sure will! :) & I would like that very much!’
Anna leaned her head back against the headrest as she stared out of the window, a smile plastered to lips as she clutched her phone between her fingers, watching the trees and buildings pass by in a blink of an eye, taking in a deep breath and letting it out slowly.

February Femslash 04 - Fairies
Anna x Nono
There was so much work to do at the refugee camp and so little daylight as clouds continued to blot out the sun. Anna didn’t realize how late it had gotten until she saw other families begin whatever bedtime rituals they could put together in a tent city.
She turned herself toward the tent her family shared with two others. She passed the infirmary and heard the groans of the sick and most likely dying. It was a sign that once again, they must be running low on medical supplies. She traded an interview with the reporter for food and supplies. If they were running out already, it meant that not even Madame Avasarala herself could get her hands on medicine.
That was not good.
When she entered the tent, she heard Nami crying. Nono curled around their daughter, trying to comfort her. “See, Nami? I told you she was coming.”
She saw the tears in Nami’s eyes and felt regret that it took her so long to come home. She laid down next to them in their makeshift bed, wiping her daughter’s tears away and kissing the top of her head. “I’m sorry I was late.”
She knew the tears were a symptom both of being overly tired and fighting bedtime and the stress they had all been through the last few months. She wished she had the words to calm her daughter, to calm the planet, the universe. She could do nothing but wrap her arms around her. “Would you like a story before bed?”
Nami shook her head. “No. No fairies.”
Nono looked over at Anna in disbelief. Nami had been obsessed with fairies lately, ever since one of the childcare workers had told her a story about Cinderella. “Why not?” Anna asked.
“They’re not here. They don’t help,” Nami said before starting to cry again.
All Anna could do hold her while she cried and tell her that both of her mothers would be with her. Eventually, she fell asleep. Nono reached out and rubbed her hand up and down Anna’s arm. “Did you eat?”
Anna nodded.
“She’s right, you know,” Nono said quietly. “There’s not going to be a magical cure for Earth. What kind of life can we give her?”
This was an argument the two of them had been having for the past few weeks as conditions deteriorated on Earth. Nono wanted to book passage on a ship heading toward one of the new colonies in the rings now that the Free Navy was defeated. Anna felt she needed to help as many people as she could on Earth.
She knew Nono was right. Both of their skills were needed on the new planets and Nami deserved to grow up not surrounded by starvation, sickness and death. She closed her eyes. “I’ll check with the church if they need missionaries.”
Nono knew how hard of a decision that was for her. She squeezed Anna’s arm in thanks. Anna hid her face in her daughter’s hair to hide her tears.

(elia x sana, before season 4, elia is completely smitten)
(read in italian)
ELIA, SATURDAY 11:21
"Bro," Giovanni asks him to get his attention. He doesn’t need to finish his sentence.
"What do I get you?" Elia asks the girls that sat their table because the coffe shop is full of people and girls always sit near Giovanni, even when it’s not.
"Can you get me a bloody mary?" Luchino asks, and Elia slaps him on the back of his head while Giovanni asks him where the hell is he coming from with the idea of a bloody mary at eleven and a half in the morning.
"You? She doesn’t want anything. I want a croissant."
"Chocolate?"
"Wholemeal with honey."
"Eh, wholemeal with honey!" Martino pokes fun at her, because Martino only ever needs fifteen minutes to make fun of people.
They’re on the third comeback, and on Giovanni’s second snicker, before Elia is far enough away to only hear the noise they manage to do in the cramped coffee shop. The table football is still occupied by the freshmen.
"Hi." Elia turns and the smile doesn’t go trough his brain but straight to his face.
Sana is standing there in line a few steps away, her arms crossed as to say come at me, I hit back, and those a bit shy dimples.
"Hi."
The one in line before them orders two cappuccini and two croissants and Elia wonders if there’s three of them and one isn’t drinking anything, or it’s just a couple and one is hungrier, or if they’re gonna share a third one because they want to share something but they each want a whole croissant to eat.
"Sorry about before, Silvia’s gone down the rabbit hole."
"What?"
Sana looks at him like he’s an idiot. It’s a good look on her, Elia likes the idea of her knowing how smarter than everyone she is.
"Half an hour ago? When we passed by and we didn’t stop because Silvia dragged us to another table because we had to study..."
"Ah, that. No, we know she’s ghosting Luchino."
"Ah, so you have to suffer the stories, too."
"Oh, of course. How her hair shines, and her laugh sounds, and her eyes is a bit greener- I dream about Silvia at night, at this point."
Sana laughs like there’s something he doesn’t know, but not a fact, like there’s a story behind it. And maybe it’s scheme to get them together, and Elia already knows it, but he would listen to it again if she told him.
"I wish it was Luchino’s hair she’d think about." she makes a weird face, her nose scrunched, and her left dimple shows more than the right. Then he can see she sees he’s looking, and she frowns, and who knows what she thinks Elia is thinking, and he’d love to tell her, he would, but the barista gets in the middle.
Elia wonders if they look for it in the curriculums when they hire. They know how to foam milk, they know after how much milk a macchiato becomes a caffèlatte, they get in the middle.
"You go." he tells Sana, and she seems a bit put off but she smiles a bit too, and maybe getting in the way is a nice ability to look for in an employee.
"Nono, you go."
He doesn’t ask her if she’s sure because Sana always seems sure, and if she isn’t he doesn’t think she’d like someone to notice it.
He gets the usual coffee and orange juice for Gio’, and a long coffee to get an espresso that isn’t short for himself, and then a chocolate croissant, two with apricots, one with pistachio that he didn’t dare to hope to be left, and the last wholemeat with honey to get around the table.
One of Sana’s dimples disappears in her pout when the barista catches the wholemeat with the thongs.
"Uh, wait." he stops him. "Get me another one with chocolate, instead."
Sana smiles, and maybe she got it, maybe she didn’t, and if she did it’s good but bad too because he doesn’t look at him but at the ground, maybe to hide because she’s thinking what does he want, take that croissant; but probably she just thought he changed his mind, and Elia would like to come clean, but maybe not because he’s happy with making her happy even if she doesn’t notice.
"Anna will get it to you."
"Mh?"
The barista repeats himself, and Sana thinks he’s an idiot again. But even idiots smile, and this time when Sana looks at the ground Elia trusts himself to know he’s doing it because she’s shy.
"For you?" the barista asks her as he puts away the change.
Sana looks at the barista, than the croissant, then Elia for a second, and then at the barista again.
"A cream croissant and two espressos." Elia snickers softly, a things something like Gio’s, and Sana looks at him with a bit more of a rigid pose.
"So? Aren’t you going? Don’t you want to hear all about Silvia’s snow white skin under the moonlight?"
"I can’t wait." he says. "Bye, then."
"Bye." she says, and Elia turns even if he doesn’t want to.
The table football is still occupied. At the table they’re picking on Martino, but Elia playfully slaps Luchino anyway, because he had to get involved with Silvia and now Silvia is ghosting him, and Luchino deserves to be punished for taking away Elia’s credibility in denying he’s a bit of a coward; that if they don’t meet up with the girls all together he gets a bit embarassed about talking to the girl he likes.
"And the stuff?" Martino asks like Elia has stashed away weed for himself.
"Anna’ll bring it to us."
"She’s hot, Anna." Giovanni says, he sounds a bit in heat these days.
"Anna always gets me two sugar packs." Niccolò adds.
"No, bro, you can’t put sugar in coffee, come on." Gio’ says throwing around an argument that has been thrown before, and will be thrown again. When Anna gets there they’re still going at it.
"Hey," Anna tells him as Martino and the girl who will be left without her croissant bicker about nothing. "Anto’ told me to tell you your girl ordered it, the wholemeat croissant with honey." if Elia will ever open a bar, he’ll specifically asks for barista who get in the way. "What a cutie." Anna adds because he must be doing a very stupid face, and he looks at his long coffee that’s actually long to hide away.
Giovanni snickers and Elia would tell him off but he’s still floating and Gio’ doesn’t say anything when their eyes meet, he doesn’t even smile, he doesn’t need to.
"And the wholemeat?" the girl asks looking at the croissants on the trail.
"Eh, the wholemeat with honey were all gone." Elia confesses, and Gio’ laughs again and drinks his orange juice to save Elia from other dissing.
"No!"
"Eh, they were."
"Eeeeeeh, life is hard."
"Shut up, Martino." Gio’ jokes emerging from his juice to drink his espresso in one go.
"He’s nice, this one." the girl picks on him again.
Elia looks over his shoulder.
Even in the crowded coffee shop it’s easy to spot Sana.
She’s the most beautiful.

Femslash February 21 - Ribbon
Anna x Nono
Anna was in Geneva protesting the UN recent move to reallocate grain from subsaharan Africa to North America. There was already a shortage in Africa; the distribution of food should not depend on which regions provided the most donations to the UN Secretary General’s reelection campaign.
The protest was peaceful until the regional police lobbed a tear gas grenade into the crowd. While the crowd rushed to flee, Anna was pushed into the wall of police surrounding the UN building. In response, the police started swinging their riot batons. One baton struck Anna on the forehead and she could feel the blood dripping down her face.
She turned back to the crowd and the man behind her pulled her away. “Medic!” he yelled and passed Anna to the woman behind him. Anna was passed backwards into the crowd until some kind soul led her to the first aid tent. The amount of blood from her wound was making it hard to see.
Anna sat in the tent and waited while the more severe cases were treated. Then the most beautiful woman she had ever seen came to treat her. “Hello, my name is Namono. It looks like I’ll just have to stitch up your wound.”
Anna nodded which made her head hurt. “Namono. What a beautiful name.” She grimaced. The hit to her head must have affected her more than she thought if she was using such lame lines.
The other woman laughed. It was a wonderful sound. Anna wanted to hear more of it. “My friends call me Nono.”
“Nono,” Anna repeated with a loopy grin. She looked down and noticed that the blood had turned parts of her hair red. She tried to pull it back into a ponytail but she had nothing to hold it back with.
“Would you like a ribbon?” Nono asked. “It’s actually the string of a face mask that broke off but it’ll work just the same.” Anna nodded and Nono gathered her hair and tied it back. “There. Now I can see the cut.”
Although there was no anesthetic, Anna did not want Nono to stop. If her head was less muddled, she would have been able to engage her in conversation and find out more about her. “There, that’s done,” Nono announced and patted Anna’s hand.
“When your shift is done, would you like to go out for a drink?” Anna blurted out.
“I suspect you have a concussion. The last thing you should do is drink.”
Anna hung her head.
“However, if you answer a question, I’ll let you buy me dinner, OK?”
“Yes!” Anna smiled.
“What’s your name?”
“Oh! Anna. Anna Volovodov.”
Nono pulled out her comm and swiped information onto Anna’s comm. “Meet me there in two hours. Now I have to go to my next patient.”
Anna smiled and left the tent. She almost wished she could send the cop that hit her a thank you note. Almost.

Femslash February - Day 1 - Rainbow
Anna x Nono
Ever since Anna came back from the Ring, Nami was clingy with her. Nono told her it was because the toddler wanted to make sure she didn’t leave for another extended period of time. Anna found that she didn’t care that Nami found her way from day care to wherever she was working in the clinic or every night lately she’d been climbing into Anna and Nono’s bed. Eventually, things would have to go back to normal, but she found Nami’s presence soothing and a reminder of everything she had almost lost in the Ring.
The large system of thunderstorms that went through during the afternoon resulted in tears and a temporary loss of power in the clinic. Luckily, the new generator the UN supplied kicked in. But during the worst of the storms, Anna, Nono and Nami spent time cuddling in the couch in Nono’s office, cuddling in the emergency lighting.
Now they were standing outside of the clinic, Nami in Anna’s arms, looking at the rainbow that stretched across the sky as rain dripped down the leaves the trees Anna’s congregation planted when they first opened the clinic. “What is it, mommy?”
“It’s a rainbow!”
Nami looked up at Anna questioningly. “How?”
“When the sunlight hits the rain drops, it creates a rainbow.”
Nono stroked Nami’s back. “God gave it to humans as a promise. That He would never flood the entire Earth again.”
Nami hugged Anna’s neck. “Does it mean that mommy won’t leave for a long time again?”
Anna grinned. “It means mommy will try her hardest not to.”
That answer satisfied Nami who squirmed until Anna let her down. She ran off to play with the other children on the playground equipment and splash in puddles. Nono wrapped her arms around Anna’s waist. “I wonder if they have rainbows on those other planets,” she asked.
“I’m sure they do on some. Maybe it depends on what kind of star they orbit. I’ve never thought about it,” Anna responded.
“I’d like Nami to have some memories of Earth before we leave.”
“Leave?”
“I know you. You won’t be able to resist those new planets.”
Anna shook her head. “The UN is blockading the ring gates.”
“Madam Avasarala is formidable, but even she won’t be able to stop humanity from exploring.”
Anna was silent.
“Like I said, I’d like Nami to have memories of Earth. But when the church needs ministers for the new worlds, go and volunteer.”
Anna looked at her wife and saw the sincerity in her face. She broke into a bright smile. “Thank you, my love.” She kissed Nono until Nami called them over to play.

(read in english)
ELIA, SABATO 11:21
"Ah, no, sappiamo che stava pisciando Luchino."
"Come no." dice, "Allora ciao."
"Ma no!"
"Eh, invece."
"Eeeh, la vita è dura."
"Ma sta zitto, Martino." Gio’ lo apostrofa riemergendo dal succo, il caffé già in mano.
"Simpatico l’amico vostro, eh?"
Elia si guarda sopra la spalla.
Anche nel baretto pieno è facile trovare Sana.
E’ la più bella.

Femslash February 06 - Upside Down
Anna x Clarissa
Clarissa found prison the antithesis of atoning for your sins. She was stuck in a cell below the ground and her value to humanity was nothing. She could do nothing to make up for the damage she had caused and the lives she had taken. She sat, in her cell, alone. She had access to books and once a week she was allowed up in the yard and could feel the sun on her face. Her chemical inhibitors made her fuzzy and slow. She spent time reading, exercising as much as she could in such a small space and staring at the walls.
A guard came to her cell. “Hey, 187348, you’ve got a visitor.”
Clarissa looked at him in surprise. “Who’d want to visit me?” She stood up and put her hands behind her head.
“Someone with real shitty taste in friends,” the guard said as he roughly handcuffed her. He shoved her out of her cell and took her to a room she had never been in before and shackled her to the table. The door opened and there she was. Anna. Clarissa couldn’t help it; tears began to run down her face.
Anna looked at her with pity, which would have hurt if she hadn’t been the first new person Clarissa had seen in months. She sat down across from Clarissa and reached out to clasp her hands. “No touching!” the guard yelled.
Anna flinched. “How are you doing?”
Clarissa sniffed and looked upward. “I’m surviving.”
“Good. Good.” Anna looked even more uncomfortable. “Nono said that she forgives you. For that night on the Roci.”
Clarissa let out a chuckle. “But I don’t repent of it. That wasn’t wrong, Anna. It — it — Amos had, he well, he gave me the means, to kill myself. And I decided that I wanted to live. And I needed, I needed you, and that night, and that little bit of happiness in my life. I know it was selfish and I know it weighs on you. But, fuck, Anna, replaying the memories are sometimes the only reason I’m still alive here.”
Anna was crying now, too. “I know, Clarissa. And I don’t regret giving you hope and giving you love. I regret violating my marriage vows. You’ve turned my world upside down but I don’t regret you.”
Clarissa closed her eyes. “You might have been the first person in my life who loved me. Father never did. He made sure Julie and I were at each other’s throats. He taught me to see people as things to be used. But I’m learning. As much as I can here.”
Anna rested her hands next to Clarissa’s, careful not to touch. “I do love you. Just not in the way you want.”
“I don’t even know what way I want you to love me. But the fact that you do, it helps. Truly.”
“You’ve got a minute,” the guard announced.
“Please, stay in touch, Clarissa. Write or call. I’ll help you to survive this in anyway I can.” She reached out and squeezed her hands, in defiance of the guard.
In retaliation, the guard unshackled Clarissa and pulled her away from the table. “Time’s up.”
As he pulled her away, Clarissa looked back at Anna. “Tell Nono that I thank her for her forgiveness.” She saw Anna nod. She then was shoved back down a hallway and back into her cell, to sit there alone.
