I watched Starship Troopers tonight.

#personal #dumb #my art #immediately after finishing i was pumped to watch some analysis vids on it #cuz i heard a lot of the drama about the original author being a pro military fascist and the director going “fuck that” and making a satir #scrolling through youtube search results was not promising. lots of male film buffs i would Not trust even on a first glance.#“The Critical Drinker” (pfp of a bearded man drinking alcohol) lol.#and then I saw cinemawins did a video on it and was like oh nice i haven't seen his stuff in a while but he's a pretty leftist creator #scrolled through the comments #second panel face #this sucks i'm outta here.#just leagues and leagues and leagues of anime pfps and right leaning people dogpiling on him for “not understanding what fascism is”#idk it's pretty alien and weird to me watching this movie and going “wow yeah that was pretty obvious huh” like literally the from opening #to the teacher preaching militance and only giving voting rights to “those who serve their nation first and earn it”#and then seeing droves of people online going #WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? It's not anti-fascist and even if it was it's #the director's fault for desecrating heinlein's incredible sci-fi epic vision. ermm media literacy is dead.

Why did you start watching the qsmp and why did you stay?

#In my case I think it's kind of funny because I had never been so committed to a Minecraft server #I watched a little bit of Tortillaland and some other bits of Karmaland #I liked Quackity and most of my time on Twitch I spent watching elmariana [It was the only thing I watched on Twitch]#I liked Roier but I didn't really watch him much [I don't know why] and I loved Missa's Youtube videos but I actually started watching #qsmp because of Jaiden #when I saw that she was part of the server I thought “wait #Jaiden? Jaiden animations? one of my favorite content creators is part of a #Minecraft server? I will definitely be watching“#Jaiden was my main pov for much of the qsmp but it's a little funny that she doesn't appear in my Twitch recap because most of the time #I watched her live was on YouTube #and first place on my recap is Roier #my current main pov and whom I became very fond of throughout my time watching the qsmp #qsmp

"But Odysseus' jetpack" The serious part of Epic the Musical and the one that is up for debate and criticism is the songs. Not the animations. I didn't think that needed explaining.

#epic the musical #I'm actually not sure I need to say something but that's never stopped me before #yes the creator collaborates with the animators but that doesn't mean anything to me aside from the fact that they respect his wishes #and if he wants every saga to have a boss battle video game style then I don't have to treat that seriously nor should I #if one day it is turned to an actual musical or has a serious animatics production then yes those would be up for critic #but I do wonder why people are so hellbent on not having fun nowadays #signed: a greek #because if one of y'all comes to me with how he should respect the odyssey then that could turn into a thesis #and I cannot stress enough how much I don't have the time for this at this moment lol #so yes be aware that I'd be one of the first to have an issue if there was an issue to be had #also reminder that the odyssey's genre (aside from epic) is and always will be fantasy because there are gods in the story #you can't be okay with odysseus actually holding a bag of winds and then draw the line at using them to fight poseidon the way he sees fit
