Continuing from this post I made for if Warner Bros. should've made a 3rd and final "Animaniacs" Sing-Along VHS, I should mention that I feel like "Animaniacs Game Pack" wasn't advertised in TV commercials or even on Warner Bros. VHS tapes. For my idea of how a 3rd "Animaniacs" sing-along video could've been done or if Warner Bros. would've promoted the game on any 1997 or 1998 VHS release by Warner Home Video, there would be a "Stay Tuned After the Program" voiceover after the opening VHS previews. That said, I personally can imagine that one way "Animaniacs Game Pack" could've advertised is to simply show the unused opening logo for the game followed by the "Tee Off" opening cutscene as a promotional music video at the end of any Warner Bros. VHS released at that time. After the song is over, the screen would fade from black revealing the "Available Now!" title card for the game (with the Jewel Case presented somewhere) until the screen fades to black (which would be the end of the tape).

If there's a different vision you have for imagining "Animaniacs Game Pack" being promoted on VHS, feel free to comment your own interpretation.

Sorry for my break, due to some inconveniences I took a week off, now I've done new drawings, which I wanted to do last year, but due to some circumstances I didn't get around to it, but now I have. That trend was popular last year and I'm sorry I didn't do it then, but that certainly doesn't mean I haven't given up on it and I've done two drawings featuring my favorite characters from various franchises and together they make up the Superheroes Squad team.

The first drawing I drew features Donald Duck as Duck Avenger (Paperinik-Pk), Daffy Duck as Duck Dodgers from the 24th century, Drake Mallard as Darkwing Duck, Howard the Duck from Marvel Comics, Rayman from the Rayman game (Ubisoft), Woody Woodpecker as the Masked Woodpecker, Detective Droopy the Dog, Super Mario and Luigi from the popular Nintendo game, Bruce Wayne as Batman, Popeye the Sailor, Squidward Tentacles from SpongeBob SquarePants as Sour Note (as his superhero alter ego from the movie SpongeBob: Out of the Water), Asterix and Obelix from the popular Franco-Belgian comic of the same name, and Dr. David Livesey from the Soviet version of Treasure Island.

The second drawing I drew features T-Squad (Quack Pack-my version) featuring Louie Duck as Green Avenger (based on Duck Avenger), Dewey Duck as Blue Cyclops (based on Gizmoduck) and Huey Duck as Red Shadow (based on Darkwing Duck and Shadow). In addition to them, there are also Plucky Duck as Green Dodgers (based on Duck Dodgers), Buster Bunny as Superbun (based on Superman and Super Rabbit) from Tiny Toons Adventures, Yakko and Wakko Warner as Power Rangers (Warner Rangers) from the original Animaniacs, Chip and Dale Chipmunk from Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, SpongeBob SquarePants as Invincibubble (as his superhero alter ego from the movie SpongeBob: Out of the Water), Peter Parker as Spiderman from Marvel Comics, Sonic the Hedgehog from the popular franchise of the same name from Sega, as from the Sonic films, Michelangelo the turtle from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Goku from Dragon Ball Z and Link the elf from the Nintendo video game The Legend of the Zelda.

I wanted to add more, but I wouldn't care for everything, so I apologize for that. I hope you like these characters and these drawings.

Original Series: Season 1

The one the only, the original series theme song! Complete with Bill Clinton and Pinky and the Brain in the theme.

Original Series: Season 2

Likely due to the scandal surrounding Bill Clinton at the time, that line was removed and replaced with "We've got wisecracks by the stacks" for episodes of season two along with the use of recycled animation from the "The Etiquette Song".

Original Series: Season 3-5

Bill Clinton and wisecracks get replaced with "We pay tons of income tax". The Pinky and the Brain lines are replaced with "Meet Ralph and Dr. Scratchansniff, say hi to Hello Nurse" as the two mice now have their own show. (Fun fact: This is somehow always the version I sing and I have no idea why.)

This modified theme song appeared on the Animanaics Sing-Along videos that went straight to home video release. Animaniacs got two of these sing-along tapes made: "Yakko's World" and "Mostly in Toon".

Freakazoid and Friends

It's my personal speculation that they used the popularity of Animaniacs at the time to boost the first episode of Freakazoid. However, I also think the altered theme is a total banger and introduces the wild, eccentric, and parody-ridden Freakazoid very well.

Reboot Theme

The reboot version of the theme song is a rerecorded and modified version of the original. What Dot lost in cuteness, she gained in wit and the Warners' "careers have made comebacks"! Though I think we all agree, it's not gender balanced and pronoun neutral until they seat Wakko on the top of that SCALE.

Lets get to know you! What was one of the things that inspired you to make this au? Do you have any scrapped plans or outcomes that would have been you'd like to share?

Also, Pepsi or Coke? There can be only one.

I'm a Cola Zero man, so ...that.

As some background info, I'd like to mention that I got introduced in the Psychonauts fandom with the second game, which I bought in September of that year.

So, as I usually do when hyperfixating on a new fandom, I was reading a lot of fanfiction and looking at a lot of fanart. I really liked art where Milla was acting motherly to Raz, like one where she makes him a packed lunch, and he accidentally call her mom(? Something like that.)

But I also noticed some fics and art where it almost was where Raz was adopted by Milla and Sasha. Or art where Raz plainly runs away from the Aquatos, which I didn't find realistic - as realistic as you can get with this game - because Raz loves his family, and I don't see him getting away from them.

One day I came across this art piece from @pokemon22551, which kinda sparked the idea. Even though it had been years - barring some fics I wrote after really getting into Animaniacs with the reboot - since I've written fanfics, I decided to give it a try, thinking I could just leave it if it didn't catch on. I made this blog, started writing the first chapter ...and the rest is history.

As for scrapped ideas ...

The whole Frazie/Norma standalone story is pretty much shelved, with most of what happened revealed through asks.(I might write some one-shots containing some scenes, or a chronological list of events that would happen)

The chapters with going into the minds of Helmut Fullbear, Bob Zanotto Compton Boole and Cassie O'P weren't gonna be in the story. I didn't want to do a 'Psychonauts 2, but it's an AU' like I've read a few times before. So I had no plans of writing those things out. They were gonna be three sentence mentions. Raz pops in, Raz pops out. Done. Kinda glad I did, though.

The Razgado event was gonna happen a few chapters earlier, right after Raz had met with the Aquato parents, but I wanted to give the others some 'screentime' as well, plus planting the seeds for the whole Frazie and Norma budding romance.

There was an alternate plan for the Aquatos finding out Raz was still alive. I had plans for Frazie to bump into Raz, Milla, Sasha and the others during a shopping trip.

Norma and Raz didn't have the close sister-brother relationship at first, which you can kinda see in the first chapters. Normally he would only refer to Lizzie as his sister, because in the game it felt like Lizzie was acting kinda sisterly towards Raz after the Casino missions.

The whole Delugionist thing at the end came after I got the idea for the sequel while I was still writing "The Lives and Times".

I've let out an entire part where a Delugionist spy - a drowned, as they call themselves - would have taken pictures of the Razgado event, and gotten into contact with the criminal group I'm using in the sequel to contact the Delugionist leadership. decided to leave it out, because it messed up the flow of the epilogue.

One chapter got rewritten partially, at the request from readers, who felt I rushed a certain picnic scene.

Nona was going to appear in chapter 15, together with Ford in Raz's mind. I decided to leave it out, because the explanation was kinda farfetched, even for Psychonauts.

Norma and Frazie could have become a couple in the chapter where they fought, but I decided I'd write a story about that instead.

There are probably more, but I don't really recall them at the moment.

You know what I miss....

I really miss conversations consisting of equal parts pop culture quotes/references & sardonic mockery.

When I say 'pop culture quotes' I'm not referring to the almost universal but, for the most part, short lived quotes from the likes of The Fast Show, Harry Enfield, Peter Kay, Catherine Tate & whatever Sacha Baron Cohen's latest 'just short enough of offensive to broadcast' character of the month was... whose shows seemed to be simply 'catchphrase generators' meant to give the general public something to shout at each other ad infinitum for a few weeks until they were, inevitably, replaced by the next 'mildly-humorous-at-the time-but-quickly-becoming-annoying' one, two (or if the writers put the coke down long enough...) three word phrase to bounce around the workplace & keep the 'artist' in question relevant enough to beg another season.

No!

I'm talking about the quotes & references from tv shows, books & movies that have become so beloved & iconic, no matter how small the fandom may be, that in certain cases a single word can communicate your love of a particular property to any other fan that happens to be in the vicinity. Say "Shiny" in a packed room with the right inflection & watch the heads of every Browncoat there swivel in your direction. Say "Geronimo" or "Allons y" & you've just let every Whovian in attendance have a brief glimpse into your preference of Doctor.

What I'm talking about are book series from the likes of Douglas Adams & Terry Pratchett. Tv shows such as Scrubs, Firefly, Doctor Who, Animaniacs, Star Trek, Red Dwarf, Freakazoid & Tiny Toon Adventures. Renowned films ranging across genres from The Lost Boys & The Crow to Blazing Saddles & Ghostbusters. The Back to the Future Trilogy, Star Wars, Flash Gordon, Con Air, Rocky Horror, Spinal Tap, The Princess Bride, Every Monty Python movie... all the way to the more cult end of the spectrum such as Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse to barely known flicks like Airheads & Ski School.

Despite the different mediums & genres, the main thing that all of these have in common (as well as many others not mentioned) is that they're all so damn quotable. Incidentally, another commonality is that the majority were created & aired in the 1970's, 80's & 90's. Whether it was due to my age at the time I initially watched them or because the writing & performances were just better back then I don't know... but, with the possible exception of Game of Thrones & certain movies from the MCU,... there just don't seem to be as many movie/tv lines that embed themselves in the mind these days. (As I type this there's actually a Writer's strike going on... unlike the previous one back in the 90's(?)... I wonder if these guys actually deserve the raise tbh)

Take something with a fairly wide fanbase like, say, Red Dwarf. Any casual watcher who enjoyed it at the time will happily call you a Smeg Head if you happen to mention the show in passing... those of us whose fandom is a little more 'rabid' could tell you what Kryten says the apple is when Lister is teaching him to lie (in the episode 'Camille')... *answer at the end of the post for anyone interested... not that anyone but me will ever read this drivel.

The point is that even the most casual of fans can throw out quotes to the above at the drop of a hat...

To get back to my original point (it had to happen eventually)... the conversations I miss having were with friends who were far more than casual fans. These were friends with whom I could throw out an obscure line from an episode of Freakazoid & they'd instantly come back with the response... completely screen accurate... with the perfect timing & inflections. Someone could be getting increasingly frustrated about a printer spitting out endless blank sheets of paper & another friend would comment that "Mr Flibble's very cross"... instantly, the mood of the entire room would lift as we all giggled our collective tits off & the quotes bounced back & forth like tennis balls. I miss standing at the lift with my old next door neighbour (an absolute authority on all things WB animation) & waiting until one of us inevitably cracked & had to say "Elelator go down the hole" which would be instinctively followed by the other uttering "I push the button... my turn, not your turn, my turn... I push the button"!

There's a certain type of person that loves their fandoms (obsesses?) enough that these lines so easily drip into their subconscious & become an integral part of their lexicon, especially when surrounded by the like minded.

I used to spend a lot of time with these people. It was comfortable. Conversation was light & easy because we 'belonged'. Unfortunately, life happens... people drift, circumstances change, new situations create changes in social circles... we end up with different groups &, often, struggle to find that 'belonging' again. Not because these new groups aren't nice, kind, sociable & welcoming people... but simply because they're not 'our' people. We can always find common ground if we try hard enough but it's often not enough common ground to sustain any meaningful communication & certainly not the 'light, easy & comfortable' communication that makes you feel that you are part of the 'tribe'... warm, welcomed & wanted... we, inevitably, end up on the outskirts of these groups, unable to get past much more than a greeting & a minute or 2 of small talk before moving on. We find ourselves, over time, with fewer & fewer invitations to social gatherings &, possibly worse, we find ourselves not wanting to go anyway.

These days we have the wonderful dumpster fire that is the internet. We can find all of our fandoms & shared interests with a tap. We find 'our people' are everywhere... in all the remote corners of the world. The friends we've drifted from are right there on social media. But.... it's just not the same as being there, in the room, making casual, off-the-cuff, random references to a common love, in the complete & total knowledge that the person next to you just 'gets it'... & you... & I miss that!

The sardonic mockery that made up the remainder of these conversations is another story entirely... maybe one day.

Did you know there was a planned Pinky and the Brain stage?

*disappointed sigh*

Might as well get a final rant out of the way.

When Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl was first announced, it got me thinking about what the Warners in a fighting game would be like, but I didn't genuinely expect either Cartoon Network of Warner Bros to make a fighting game anytime soon.

Not long later, MultiVersus gets leaked, then announced, and I was SO hyped!

Over three years later, and...

No Warners, Pinky and the Brain or ANY Animaniacs characters.

Oh, but they can tease the characters repeatedly no problem! Not just via in-game cameos or a stage, but in official advertising for the game:

Like...why do that? They didn't have to do that (ngl that part is what pisses me off the most).

I don't understand why they weren't added sooner. They are literally the Warner Brothers (and the Warner Sister). If not on the base roster, then why not alongside their stage? Why add a stage based on a franchise, but not any characters from said franchise? And if they were gonna be added, why at a different time than their stage?

Brick and Boomer are in the game, they couldn't have gotten Rob Paulsen to do an announcer pack as Yakko and/or Pinky or something? They hastily made one for Foghorn because of a meme.

It's not just the lack of Animaniacs characters I'm disappointed about. Why wasn't Daffy Duck on the base roster?

Why does Looney Tunes only have three characters?

(Well, four if you count Lola...yeah they're adding Lola and not Daffy. Yeah sure, do that I guess. Not like he's the second most popular character in his franchise or anything. Not like he has a movie coming out soon that could've used the advertising.)

Nicole Watterson would've been cool too (be honest, she would've been a better pick than Gumball). More CN characters in general would've been great. I'm glad the Powerpuff Girls were added, but did Adventure Time really need four reps so soon? Why is there a Dexter stage, yet no Dexter?

I won't lie, I'm not much of a gamer. I don't care about the game's apparent flaws like the slow gameplay or awful character balancing. I haven't played a Smash clone since I was a kid. The main reason I was invested in this game was because of the possibility of it adding the Warners as playable characters. I wanted to hear their voice lines, see their movesets, victory animations, alternate costumes, stage(s), and interactions with characters they'll probably never have the chance to interact with again, like Bugs or the PPG. I wanted to see their CG cinematic trailer, see what they'd do in the story mode.

Years of waiting for...nothing. Just Animaniacs-themed set dressing. AFAIK, they weren't even found in the files.

There goes what was probably our last chance to get official Animaniacs video game content (or possibly official Animaniacs content in general) for the foreseeable future.

What a waste.

OK I usually don't like being cynical (well, not on Tumblr at least lol) but uh...

Yeah at this point there is no way the Warners (or any Animaniacs characters for that matter) are being added to Multiversus. The game is 100% gonna shut down before they can be added. It's reported to be a financial flop, and bad decision after bad decision has led to the active player base consistently staying pretty low for months.

Even if they were added, it's unlikely I'd ever get to play as them anyway given how the game handles unlocking characters (long story short if you don't plan on paying up, or making playing the game your second third job, you ain't getting the new characters of the latest season).

The game ain't making it past 2026, calling it (and believe me, saying 2026 instead of 2025 is being generous).

Which means the most Animaniacs content we'll likely ever be getting from this game is this stage:
