Roger Ebert's favorite game, simulating life, afterlife and reincarnation in Japan's Heian period. You can download it here or here, or download it pre-configured to run on modern versions of Windows here.

Tada! Barbie Sleeping Beauty! Princess Rose and her magic flute (really liked that she had musical talent in the game and used it to save everyone)

I was randomly reminded of the 1997 CD-ROM game Lego Island earlier today and I only just now realized that not only is the player character Pepper Roni (pictured here) the only video game character I can think of who is canonically dyslexic, but it also (kinda) plays a part in the main plotline of the game.
Granted, it’s probably not the best representation of dyslexia in media, but still

Black Dahlia (Windows, Take-Two Interactive Software, 1998)
You can download it here, or download it pre-configured to run on modern versions of Windows here.
Solve the seemingly unsolvable in the game that came on eight CD-ROMs - the world record for a non-MMO game (Everquest 2 had ten).
Tip: if you solve the rune-gem puzzle pictured below before you need to, you'll render the game unwinnable. The version at the second link includes a workaround - type 'reset' on the puzzle's screen to reset it.

Zillenial nostalgia incoming
Does anyone else remember the My Scene cd-rom games? There were two to my knowledge: the My Scene cd-rom game (2003) and the My Scene Goes Hollywood (2005?). In a random conversation between myself (nearing 30 and my older sister (early 30's) we were reminiscing on how much we loved these games.
My sister and I were OBSESSED with these games to the point where we had to take turns on the computer to play them. Please tell me someone else remembers them because I loved them so much. If I won the lottery my plans would be as follows:
Buy a house in cash, one for which I can pay property taxes comfortably for the rest of my life
Disneyland magic keyholder (yes I am a Disney simp, yes I know Disney as a corporation is bad but I will do to Disneyland until they refuse my entry)
Hire someone to make the My Scene and Barbie games of my youth playable on up to date computers
If anyone else has fond memories of this please let me know, I am dying to meet other who went through this same obsession in the early to mid 2000s.
Or anyone who played Barbie games on their computes in the late 90's early 2000s, because I loved those with all my heart
