Our landlord doesn’t allow pets in our apartment but I still think he could have pulled some strings to make it happen.

All jokes aside, this lighthearted read was much appreciated and came at a good time. After my Pop passed away I came down with a rough bout of sickness, so it was nice to have something easy and entertaining to pass the time and get my mind off things.

My husbands plan was foiled though. This book did not appease my dog fever. It only made it worse 😂

I loved how author shows through Duke that people are different from their characters in shows and movies, they aren’t always how we assum them to be. I also liked many wise lines and message of facing fear, courage and what true hero is. It was great that even humans who were mean aren’t abusive which makes the story perfect for young kids. Overall, Dog Squad is entertaining, fun, adventurous, and fast paced animal fiction that young readers will adore and even dog lovers of all age will love to read. I looked it up and it's full of six short stories about different transformations! The description says that some other ones include children turning into birds, a once-invisible young woman piecing herself back together, and "the identity of a mysterious baseball mascot is uncovered".

Oh i just remembered that short story i read as a kid where stray cats would talk to kids and gain their trust and then scam them by offering to let them live the luxurious homework/chore free life of a cat for one day and their spirits would switch bodies and then the cats would just. Keep the kids bodies and assume their identities/lives. And then the kids trapped in the cat bodies were doomed to live and die as street cats or scam another kid out of their body in a vicious cycle like in The Ring. Looking back on it, im very convinced that story influenced me beyond words.
