Lion kills OAU veterinary worker during feeding

The veterinary technologist in charge of the Zoological Garden of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Mr. Olabode Olawuyi, has been killed by a lion on the campus. The management of the institution in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olanrewaju, explained that the incident happened when the deceased was feeding the animals in their den at the garden. Olanrewaju said other members of staff who were at the scene of the incident did everything within their power to rescue the deceased, but the wild cat had already caused severe fatalities on his body. The statement party read, “The management, staff, students and the entire campus of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, have been thrown into mourning following the untimely death of Mr. Olabode Olawuyi. “A release by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olarewaju, stated that Mr Olawuyi, a veterinary technologist, who had been in charge of the Zoological Garden for over a decade, was attacked this afternoon, Monday, February 19, 2024, by a nine-year-old male lion when he was feeding them in their den at the Zoological Garden of the university. “The other members of staff who were at the scene of the incident did everything within their power to rescue their boss but the wild cat had already caused severe fatalities.” we gathered that on hearing the sad news, the management team, led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Simeon Bamire, abruptly ended their meeting for an on-the-spot assessment. “Bamire was informed, on arrival, by the acting Director of the University Health and Medical Centre, Dr. Tirimisiyu Olatunji, that all first aid and medical efforts to save the life of the victim proved abortive. “Saddened by this tragic event, the aggressive lion has been euthanised. How to be a sustainable fashion lover

Fashion is scrambling to meet the challenge with meticulously researched roadmaps and reports that include a slew of plans to improve supply chain energy efficiency, switch to renewables, invest in material innovation that avoids synthetics, ramp up social justice initiatives, and address animal cruelty. While these initiatives are well-intended, they are up against an industry that is already massive in scope. Most of those 80 to 100 billion clothing items - a conservative estimate - are already burnt or disposed of after only a few wears. According to McKinsey Fashion Scenarios, global fashion sales are on set to rebound to just above 2019 levels, notwithstanding the pandemic. Campaigners are increasingly proposing that one of the simplest ways to reduce the impact of fashion is to buy less (much less, according to Take the Jump, only three new pieces of clothing each year) and to make the things we already possess last longer. Essentially, the fashion business must significantly diminish in size. This may be difficult to imagine for a generation of buyers raised on manufactured needs and fast pleasure, but the statistics are unmistakable. According to Wrap's research, extending the life of a piece of clothing by only nine months may reduce its environmental effect by up to 10%; think what could be accomplished over decades. Buying excellent quality clothing, owners' desire to wear the same item over and over again, and their capacity to care for them are all factors. These may appear to be simple tasks, but if they were, we would have completed them by now. After all, it has only been a generation since we lost the beautiful skill of clothes upkeep. Whereas our ancestors lived thrifty lives, most consumers today have gotten accustomed to a wear, break, and chuck model. De Castro's flawless garments with damaged zips reveal a significant disconnect with how apparel is created. But it is now more important than ever to ask why so much of our clothing is petroleum-based; whether the rayon in that jumper was sourced from ancient forests; what animal's fur has gone into that pom pom; why only a minority of garment workers are paid a living wage – and whether we still want a hand in driving all this destruction.

The first step is to re-examine your personal wardrobe; textile reuse organisation Traid started the 23 Percent Campaign in 2019 to highlight the amount of items left unused in Londoners' wardrobes. Sam Weir is the founder of Lotte.V1, a one-on-one style service that aims to rekindle our love affair with clothing. "Many of us don't use what we own because we've been taught to find style solutions through consumption," says the high-profile ad stylist. "Styling allows people to express themselves and have fun with clothing without having to buy new; it encourages creativity and allows people to truly wear their clothing." It's about developing relationships with our possessions and learning to interact with fashion outside of consumption." According to Mikha Mekler, lecturer in production management at London College of Fashion, it helps if you buy well to begin with. "The issue is how we buy. Quality purchases endure longer." Begin by avoiding quick fashion manufacturers and their glitzy, celebrity-laden advertising campaigns, and instead seek for ethical labels that value workmanship. Even still, do your own research: the weight of an object and the quality of its details may reveal a lot. "Test the garment," says Victoria Jenkins, creator of adaptive clothing business Unhidden and a garment technologist. "Pull it, yank on it, inspect the stitching." Is it nice and tidy, or are there a lot of loose threads Can you see 'grinning', where the thread is visible at tension points on the seam? Does the garment have hanger loops to stop it losing shape? Is there taping along a T-shirt shoulder to stop it from being distorted if it is hung up? Is the hem sturdy or can it be easily unpicked? Is there shading on the fabric; are there faults in the print beyond what you might expect?" The next stage is to take care of yourself. Semiotician Roland Barthes wrote about the use of foam in an advertisement for detergent in his 1954 essay Soap Powders and Detergents: "What matters is the art of having disguised the abrasive function of the detergent under the delicious image of a substance at once deep and airy which can govern the molecular order of the material without damaging it." Washing is still thought to renew and rejuvenate, but as Roland Barthes reminds out, it is actually extremely harmful. Most sustainable clothing experts believe that washing garments less is better - and washing them cold, properly sorted, with mild, natural laundry detergents, and inside out to prevent colour and print fading. "Garment care is still something people get wrong on a day-to-day basis," Mekler said. "I wash a lot of garments, especially the finer things, even jeans, on a wool wash unless they're really dirty." Consider hanging mildly dirty items in the bathroom while taking a shower and letting the steam do the cleaning. Avoid tumble drying by shaking your clothing and hanging them to dry. Then bask in the environmental advantages of your new habit. According to the EPA's Energy Star programme, the average washing machine uses 6,500 gallons of water each year, which is about half of what you'd drink in a lifetime. Finally, most of the emissions produced during the "in-use" stage of an item's life cycle originate from washing and tumble drying. Cut that and you're basically a sustainable fashionista.

When you've finished cleaning your clothing, avoid the desire to dump them on the floor or bundle them up under the sofa. Correct garment storage accomplishes half the job; top advice include storing clean clothes away from sunshine and heat, in cool, dry places with enough space between them to air. 60% Rabies Vaccinations Yields Healing for Sarangani

  Sarangani has reached over 60% rabies vaccination coverage on dogs for two straight years. Federico Yadao, Medical Technologist II and Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Disease Surveillance Officer, cited this as a good indication towards the province’s rabies elimination plan consistent with the Department of Health’s target to free Philippines from rabies by 2030 and the 80% vaccination coverage indicator that the World Health Organization had set to successfully achieve rabies global control. From the 46,138 dog population in Sarangani in 2020, the Provincial Veterinary Office (PVET) vaccinated 28,421 or 61.60% in 2021. While, 62.18% or 27,917 were vaccinated in 2022 out of the 44,895 reported population in 2021. As of March, 1,950 dogs were already vaccinated based on the 32,256 dog population in 2022. There were also 1,249 cats vaccinated in 2022 which composed 6.25% of the 19,976 population recorded in 2021. As of March, 55 cats were administered with anti-rabies vaccines based on the 3,856 population in 2022. In the Philippines, Dr. Bernard Cababat, Sarangani’s officer-in-charge Provincial Veterinarian, said dogs are responsible for 98% of cases of rabies virus transmitted to humans, while the remaining two percent were caused by bites of cats and other animals.

Narte of Sarangani Provincial Information Office.   Dr. Cababat said they are stepping up efforts to eliminate the disease by urging Sarangans to vaccinate their dogs and cats especially that “rabies is 100% fatal but 100% preventable.” Rabies is a vaccine-preventable, zoonotic, viral disease affecting the central nervous system.   Federico Yadao, Medical Technologist II and Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit Disease Surveillance Officer said: “We really do not want to have fatality dahil doon as preventable disease” and cited their collaboration with the Department of Education Sarangani Division." “With DepEd, mas more tayo sa control. Mas more tayo sa preventive na mga activities, rather than curative.”   From 2019 to 2021, the Provincial Health Office reported a total of 4,583 animal bite patients administered with post exposure prophylaxis and 17 deaths distributed as eight in 2019, one in 2020, and eight in 2021. Although Yadao said this is not “alarming” since post exposure prophylaxis are available, but he encouraged everyone to: “limit exposure by being responsible pet owners. Kung ano lang ang kayang alagaan, ‘yun lang ang alagaan.”   The massive vaccination drive is in line with the celebration of the Rabies Awareness Month, but Dr. Cababat pointed out they are doing vaccination all year round in partnership with the offices of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMAG), where the program is lodged. Rabies Awareness Month, this year, is anchored on the theme "Rabies-free na pusa't aso, kaligtasan ng pamilyang Pilipino." As part of the campaign, the Provincial Veterinary Office and offices of the Municipal Agriculturist in Malungon held an information drive dubbed as Pet Talks at Malalag Cogon National High School on March 28. Dr. Cababat emphasized the importance of making students agents of the right information about rabies. No, but I want dogs and cats so bad. I regularly dog-sit and would like to cat-sit as well.

Did 10 years of ballet, 5 years of soccer/football, 5 years of tap dancing, apparently I make a really good goal-keeper in lacrosse, I tried out modern dance for a bit, did track and field for a bit in high school and would have done cross country if I'd had the chance.

No, and I never want them. Maybe a few pollen-free plants and a dog, but not kids. I just don't have the energy or a well enough body for that.

Their vibes and the colors of those vibes. My synesthesia is this weird thing where people have vibes and colors... I feel them more than see them, but. I notice people's vibes first. I guess how they affect my synesthesia is a better way to put it? But I describe my synesthesia with vibes lol.

What's your eye color?

Grey and hazel! I have central heterochromia, so they're grey with hazel/gold/brown/I-honestly-cannot-tell-but-I-know-there-are-gold-and-brown-flecks around my irises.

Scary movie or happy ending?

Absolutely hate scary movies. My anxiety and paranoia goes through the roof. I'm pretty neutral on happy endings, though--my favorite type of endings are ambiguous ones. (Looking at you, Inception 🥰)

Any special talents?

Hahaha oh boy, okay. So I have EDS. Which means I have the ✨party trick hands✨. So. Yeah. On my right hand, I can touch the tip of my pinkie nail to the back of my hand. And I keep my nails clipped very short, so. It hurts like hell, so I only really do it for doctors. I can also wiggle my patellae around very easily.

I can also play viola. And according to @that-one-dingus, I make really good baked goods.

Gonna try and stray from my usual responses here... Photography. Baking. Reading. Taking walks. Singing. Collecting postcards. Does collecting incredibly soft and cozy blankets count?

No, but I'd love a dog. My best friend's dog has converted me xD

So my body has never let me do things like this, even as a kid. Gym was always my hardest class in school. I never really did sports, but I did love whenever we did soccer in PE.

English or history! Funny thing is, I didn't like either of those subjects until I actually had fantastic teachers. I loved my social studies class my senior year of high school--my teacher was the best. (Plus, we were learning about sociology, so...) History scratches that brain itch.

Uhh none really? My ideal is not having to work and just volunteering whenever I have the time and spoons.

Supernatural Investigation Department Center (SIDC)

Note: A very, very, very long post. Damn- This took a lot of days to finish-

The 'Supernatural Investigation Department Center' (SIDC for short) is known to be the top one police force of the whole Island of Enchantment'.

Due to the conflicts has been created, especially the hate between the non-magical half-animals race and the magical race (Human Race and Half-Myth Race). This rare police company existed to bring the peace between the three races by the five country rulers command, for the forsake of their island and to change for the better good.

No other regular police companies like them can handle tough cases, they out it into an end despite the difficulty.

What's makes this company special is that they fight against unnatural/supernatural beings considered them into normal cases, courthouse cases, spy missions, army battles, and more. Whatever they do is necessary to real sense of justice to their island.

But to anyone surprise... There's no much adults working there. In fact, there's a lot of teenagers working there as well, and that's not a lie.

It makes everyone believed that the company is a lot like a school.

But hey, despite it being like that. The inside... Is rather like a safe place for a lot of people to visit but sometimes chaotic to see.

They also accept some school trips as well.

Additional Note: The current chief sees a lot of potential in young teenagers when it comes to a real sense of justice than the adults. Perhaps this is why the company is like this.

There are eight ranks in the company, but the current head captains are ranked from lowest to highest. Most likely based on their strictness and management on their ranks.

Strict rules were there as well, follow them. Some of them aren't serious while others are actually.

People who can work in actually cases are the official workers, ones who can join in a case once is a trainee.

Officials can work in a group or alone, depending on which rank. Plus they have their own workspace during work hours.

While the Trainees are sorted and worked in group by three members. They are sorted in the same room during work hours as well.

The head captains workspaces are bigger than the official's workspace, of course they are the ones who are in charge of their progress. It depends on how each one does it's including the results as well.

During any types of cases, some officials and trainee are in permanent groups. Which it was each member's decision and choice.

They can bring their two weapons based on their chosen battle courses. Of course, they take good care of it. Each and different weapon is kept safe in specific but guarded lockers.

Once work hours are done, it's either that they come back to the school but around 5-10 P.M. or they will take in their chosen bedrooms for the night and come back tomorrow morning.

For important and serious missions or cases, anyone either official or trainee will get picked by their rank captain. And they will leave thier school early morning to get the job done, will might take a few weeks for them come back once the missions are done.

SIDC Clothing Uniforms

Uniform Clothing Colors: Black, White and Grey. Most likely in any type of shades from the three colors, to match to anyone liking or style.

Clothing Style: It depends for anyone, they can style it to match to their liking. Some accessories are added as well, with additional clothes that needed to be worn too thanks to the rules.

Training Uniform: That is clothes for any type of training for any incoming exams. Depends on what style they chose.

Official and Trainee Rank Uniforms: Each uniform from the eight ranks are different and unique. But for officials workers they wear a black necktie or bow, while trainees wear a white necktie or bow.

Investigator/Detective Rank: Mostly school-uniform suits, but more detective or investigator-like. They have their own case-file reporting bags to send info or clue to their captain.

Scientist Rank: Always wear labcoats, black rubber gloves and eye-goggles when testing new experiences. They have their own lab kits to test any substances.

Medical Examiner Rank: A long doctors coat and surgeon clothes as well. They have their own medical or first-aid kit.

Hacker and Tech-researcher Rank: They wear something technology-like which it looked very tight and comfortable. They bring their hacking gadgets.

Mechanical Weapon-maker Rank: They wear something like mechanics wear, but they are slightly tight but comfy enough. They bring their own toolbox.

Army Scout Rank: Military-like clothing for battle fields, somewhat baggy and big but comfy to wear. They bring their own but small weapon box.

Lion kills OAU veterinary worker during feeding

The veterinary technologist in charge of the Zoological Garden of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Mr. Olabode Olawuyi, has been killed by a lion on the campus. The management of the institution in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Olanrewaju, explained that the incident happened when the deceased was feeding the animals in their den at the garden. Olanrewaju said other members of staff who were at the scene of the incident did everything within their power to rescue the deceased, but the wild cat had already caused severe fatalities on his body. The statement party read, “The management, staff, students and the entire campus of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, have been thrown into mourning following the untimely death of Mr. Olabode Olawuyi. “A release by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Abiodun Olarewaju, stated that Mr Olawuyi, a veterinary technologist, who had been in charge of the Zoological Garden for over a decade, was attacked this afternoon, Monday, February 19, 2024, by a nine-year-old male lion when he was feeding them in their den at the Zoological Garden of the university. “The other members of staff who were at the scene of the incident did everything within their power to rescue their boss but the wild cat had already caused severe fatalities.” we gathered that on hearing the sad news, the management team, led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Simeon Bamire, abruptly ended their meeting for an on-the-spot assessment. “Bamire was informed, on arrival, by the acting Director of the University Health and Medical Centre, Dr. Tirimisiyu Olatunji, that all first aid and medical efforts to save the life of the victim proved abortive. “Saddened by this tragic event, the aggressive lion has been euthanised. In the thick of the COVID-19 pandemic, it seemed to Scott Neabore that the pet population had doubled as people bound to their homes sought out cats and dogs for comfort and companionship. His practice in Haddonfield, meanwhile, was still compact — just him and three vet technicians.

His schedule is fully booked with surgeries until autumn. There are no slots for more dental procedures until the beginning of next year. He has performed more spay and neuter surgeries in the last year than he ever did previously.

“The pet population essentially doubled in a year, but the veterinarian population did not,” he said. “Now we’re trying to play catch-up.”

As pet ownership sharply grew in the last year — 11.38 million households in the United States got pets during the pandemic, according to the American Pet Products Association — so did the workload for veterinary practices, many of which simultaneously grappled with COVID-19 safety protocol, concerns of thinning staff, and growing pressure to see as many patients as possible.

Even with nimble vet staff, there was sometimes a waiting period of six to seven hours at the Red Bank Veterinary Hospital emergency room in Hillsborough, N.J. — a delay exacerbated by some owners who brought in their pets for nonurgent matters, veterinarian Agatha Kuza said.

“My job has kind of become a general practice-emergency hybrid,” she said, noting that some people have paid the more expensive emergency hospital fee rather than wait longer to get their animal seen elsewhere.

In a typical 12-hour shift during the pandemic, Kuza saw 10 to 15 patients. On her busiest day, she recalled, she saw 30. Another day, when two other emergency clinics in the area diverted owners to nearby facilities, eight patients showed up at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital within an hour.

The work has become overwhelming, Kuza said. After already long days sometimes peppered with combative or accusatory pet owners, some employees stay an extra hour or two to finish their tasks, she said. Half of the nurses who were working at the hospital when Kuza was hired last year have resigned, and replacements are hard to find.

“I definitely already feel burned out,” said Kuza, who graduated in 2019 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. “I don’t see myself doing emergency — or even veterinary medicine — long term.” She has begun to see a therapist, she said, and take medication.

When COVID-19 and vet medicine collided, it brewed “a perfect storm,” said Jennifer Keeler, executive director of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association.

“We started out with not being sure if vet clinics could remain open, and in the early days, they were only open for the emergency procedures,” she said. That pushed back routine wellness visits — and the backlog compounded as people began adopting or buying new pets and bringing them in for their first checkups.

“Once they were allowed to do routine care and trying to dig out of that backlog, a lot of staff members are parents whose kids are home,” she said, noting that the majority of veterinarians and veterinary technicians in the United States are women. “So a lot of vet clinics lost staff and have been unable to fill positions. It’s really put a lot of pressure on them.”

Coupled with new rules surrounding COVID-19, such as appointments that required owners to stay outside while their pet was being seen, more owners became frustrated and angry, Keeler said.

“That can be emotional for pet owners because they want to be in with their pet,” she said. “They often give a lot of push-back to vets and staff, so it’s kind of coming at vet professionals from all angles lately.”

Turnover is then high, she said, particularly when there is low pay, little job satisfaction, burnout, and compassion fatigue. Vet technicians and technologists earned an annual median pay of $36,260 in 2020, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The agency found that the veterinarians averaged $108,350 a year as of last May.

“I get cursed at at least once a week,” said an emergency veterinarian in Philadelphia who requested anonymity for fear of jeopardizing her job. People also have threatened and yelled at her, she said, slammed doors in her face, and walked out on $2,000 bills. “It’s definitely gotten much worse.”

The workload, too, has been fierce: In the first week of the pandemic, she said, a few cat owners who began to spend more time at home observed their pets more closely and brought them in to be examined. She diagnosed three with having abdominal tumors. And she examined more puppies than usual, many of which came from Lancaster County, Missouri, or Ohio, hot spots for puppy mills.

“Everyone just wants a puppy so much right now that puppies that wouldn’t get adopted with heart murmurs or hernias are getting adopted,” she said.

Recently, she noticed an uptick in animals that had ingested marijuana.

She said she had used her own money to pay for the treatment of six animals surrendered to her practice during the COVID-19 outbreak. One was a puppy with a broken leg; another, a cat with a severed tail.

“There’s no end in sight,” she said, and recalled a shift when she had to handle 15 emergencies by herself. “And we’re just working harder and harder and harder.”

Despite increased stress, “in general, I’m doing better than most people,” she said. “... You have to not take things personally. You have to come up with ways to cope, or you can’t deal with it.”

As it stands, the industry feels broken, said Braelyn Bankoff, a graduate of Penn Vet. She left her job as a small-animal vet in April 2020 after the job left her anxious and unhappy.

“The vet world right now feels set up to go poorly from the start,” she said, and pointed to the high cost of vet school that led to people “feeling trapped” or “forced to work unsustainably,” and the expense of running a tight-margin animal hospital that invited the pressure of seeing as many patients a day as possible. The stress, so crippling at times, has given rise to Not One More Vet, a national nonprofit dedicated to bettering the mental health of vet staff.

“It puts more burden on the existing staff and results in crazy hours, unsustainable workloads, too many client expectations you just can’t support,” Bankoff said.

She ultimately found that the pressure was unhealthy.

“I started developing stress-related illness,” she said. “I saw a psychiatrist and had to get on antidepressants and anxiety medication.” She quit her job without another one lined up and started a job search. She landed her current position, an analyst for the National Board of Medical Examiners, in January.

“It’s absolutely amazing,” she said. “I have hobbies now. I have a life. I am no longer on any meds. I feel very much myself again, and that’s awesome.”

medical!au x dream, sungchan and shotaro

I feel like renjun is the type to consider something a little more artistic in the medical field, which is why I feel like he’d be an orthotist. he’d design prosthetic limbs in the labs for children, veterans, or adults, and whenever he’d get an order, he’d spend days on it. his friends went out those weekends, but renjun stayed in, his espresso steaming on his work desk and his glasses perched on his nose as he scrolled and edited his prosthetic design. he never made the same one twice. of course, if someone damaged their old one, renjun repaired it instead of creating a whole new one, but these prosthetics were designed for permanent-use. he’d finish off with his signature emblem before giving it one last check then giving it to the hospital.he’d insist the doctors to invite him when they wore it for the first time, just to see the look on their faces and the absolute joy they’d receive from being able to use it for the first time. it’s not a steady job, sure, but it sure as hell is fulfilling and that’s all renjun would ask for.

so I kinda just imagine jeno being a psychiatrist… I imagine him taking notes as he carefully listens to his patients. jeno’s very attentive to detail, and just shortly after his undergrad, he interned with a psychiatrist who helped him learn more about what goes on behind the scenes, and he really impressed the interviewers at his medical school with all that he learned. soon after earning his degree, he went to work for the same psychiatrist that he’d interned with and his patients loved him. the one moment that jeno will never forget is when he had a patient who was battling severe depression. it wasn’t until jeno arrived on their case that they began to show improvement. they smiled for the first time in months, and within a year the patient was miraculously much better. before they left, they thanked and hugged everyone, but jeno received the biggest thanks and the tightest hug. 

okay, the reason I think jaemin would be interested in becoming an orthopedic surgeon ever since he had back problems in high school. he was fascinated by all the cool diagrams of skeletons, and his doctors had explained his injury so well to him, that it inspired him to strive for orthopedics as a specialization. he did really well on his entrance exams, and he managed to come full circle, and become a resident at the hospital he was treated in. as an orthopedic surgeon, jaemin makes sure to inform his patients as much as he can. sometimes, he’ll even call them at odd times to let them know if there are any changes he’s decided to make regarding the surgery, or aftercare, whatever. jaemin’s a trustworthy doctor, and his patients never seem to forget him, even if it’s a while after he’s healed them.

chenle as a medical technologist is a little unexpected. when he hangs around his friends during his free time, and you can hear his laughter down the hallways, you wouldn’t think he’s the guy who is counting blood cells under a microscope. but he’s very detail-oriented, and always impresses his supervisor. it’s also not a job that is as demanding in the knowledge of science, since he really needs to be able to distinguish what is normal over what is not, which he loves. in his free time- which there’s not too much of, but in the rare occurrences he does- he likes to either visit his friends, resident!jisung or physicaltherapist!mark who’s in the next building. another admirable thing he’ll do, though, is he’ll stop at the pediatrics floor and play with the kids that come in for blood transfusions or testing, since he’ll have their blood supply to give to the doctors, or he’s there to collect the samples. and sometimes, a parent will thank him for all his help and he can’t help but blush because, well, it makes him happy to help others.

jisung is totally a resident. no questions, it just makes sense. the fact that he knows people at the hospital was one of the reasons he applied for residency there, because he went to medical school with some of the (now) workers. when he finds out he’s accepted, he’s over the moon. generally hangs around by chenle’s department, where the front office of the hospital is. takes care of checking in patients and directing people to different areas of the hospital, while doing checkups on patients and the other thousand things his seniors assign him. although he enjoys the work he does, he doesn’t know if he wants to specialize or stay as a general physician, which his friends also help him decide down the line. he knows that no matter what, he wants to end up back in this hospital because it's like a second home to him. 

sungchan works as a physician’s assistant. initially also wanted to pursue medicine as a whole but he had this… feeling? that medicine was going to wear him out faster than he wanted to, and he felt that he was the type to burn out easily. not to mention, he also wanted to have free time on the side; conveniently, this job provided him with just what he wanted. the hospital was right outside a neighborhood park that also needed volunteers for coaching little kids. turns out, the way his schedule is at the hospital, he takes the morning shift at the hospital, gets out at 2:30, then stops at his apartment nearby to nap and freshen up before coming to the park and coaching soccer in the evenings. it’s the perfect life for him and hasn’t been happier. 

finally, seeing shotaro as a veterinarian is ideal for him. I mean, have you seen the guy? he’s so gentle and soft, it’s no wonder he’s amazing with animals. he grew up near an animal shelter in japan, where he visited the animals as often as he could. the vet that would visit the shelter often saw him, amused by the way he handled the animals with care. naturally, the vet talked to shotaro about considering veterinary school as a potential career choice, and at first, he didn’t really pay too much attention to the vet’s words. but one day, when one of his favorite pups wasn’t as energetic as she usually was, shotaro took her to the vet’s office, and he learned that the puppy had hyperglycemia. since then, he knew that he never wanted to feel that way again, and persevered to become a vet. now, he lives in korea and runs a clinic there, and that puppy from the clinic? he ended up adopting her and bringing her to korea with him and it’s just the cutest thing.
