ANIIMALS DON'T NATURALLY HAVE ENOUGH B12 TO PASS ON ENOUGH THROUGH THEIR FLESH TO US, it's supplemented to them, they either get injections, pills, or mixed feed. it doesn't come from animals, it comes from soil bacteria. YOU are being supplemented, just with extra steps. and in fact, around 40% of people are b12 deficient. and recent studies have shown that vegans and omnis are close to having similar rates of b12 deficiency because we're keeping track of our vitamin intake and more and more food is being created that is fortified. in fact, a recent study has shown that due to the prevalence of fortified foods, like breads, cereals, etc., vegans were within the recommended daily intake of b12 WITHOUT supplements. this general deficiency in humans is a result of the extensive cleaning we do of plant produce. back in the day, they'd be hand scrubbed, and still have a bit of dirt, which we would eat and absorb b12 from. but now that we have mechanical and intensive cleaning, that dirt is gone. which is GOOD because it drastically reduces the risk of illness from things like e coli, parasites, salmonella, and such, which have much higher mortality rates than b12 deficiency. so, it's a trade off based on harm reduction. modern people in general, no matter their diet, should be supplementing b12.
apart from b12, there's.....nothing else. plants have a less potent d vitamin, but you can get the good d from the sun (with sunscreen on, of course). omegas are complex, because we don't actually know what the amount we should have is, it's not considered an essential nutrient, we just know that there's a correlation between it and stronger brain function. plant foods that have omegas or give the necessary aminos for our bodies to create omegas are hemp products (hemp seeds are incredible, like a teaspoon or so is your omega for the day), many seeds, avocado, certain seaweeds, and of course there are supplements. how do you think the fish that you eat get omegas?
and all the rest you named? are literally not essential nutrients (fucking taurine lol, i absolutely know you read that '7 NUTRIENTS YOU CAN'T GET FROM A VEGAN DIET" by healthline. you didn't even mention the classic go-tos like iron and calcium rip), and we 'need' them in such small amounts that basically everyone gets enough without even trying unless they have an eating disorder or are malnourished. because the thing is, our body actually can make most nutrients themselves as long as you consume enough of the requires amino acids, so that your body can break them down and create new chains, longer chains, shorter chains, etc.
90% of people have at least one vitamin deficiency due to not eating healthily, this is not a vegan problem. in fact, overall, vegans have LESS deficiencies because they pay attention to what they eat and supplement, unlike many omnivores. which is not a bad thing by the way. you are falling into the naturalistic fallacy, where to you nature = good and human made = bad. arsenic is natural. covid 19 is natural. medication and vaccines are human made. rape is natural. clothes and the very phone you're using are human made. funny how this belief only applies to diet.
i also like how you didn't mention the fact that omnivores eat far less fibre, which is connected to gut health, processing of nutrients, gastro-intestinal inflammation levels, and most importantly, major cancer risk. we also eat less saturated fat, less sodium, zero cholesterol (so our body makes the cholesterol we need, especially when we eat 'good' fats), more vitamin c, are on average far less obese, more active, drink less alcohol. vegans also have the lowest rate of all cause mortality (the chance of dying from anything) out of any dietary group. every single 'blue zone' group (groups of people who regularly live to over 100) is 95% or over plant based (the longest living being seventh day adventists, who are vast majority functionally vegan. others include okinawans and sardinians who, apart from some seafood, are vegan).
pretty much most health organisations nowadays state that "plant based diets are the healthiest diet to have". yes, there are some things that are more difficult for vegans to attain, BUT that's just one or two things. the most important thing is OVERALL, for which vegans dominate in terms of health. most studies nowadays that claim otherwise are all funded by the beef and dairy and pork industry, i'm not joking. it's ridiculous how many times i'll read a study, see some clear manipulative statistics and statements, and then scroll to the bottom and see "funded/commissioned by the *insert animal product* foundation/association/coalition".
to try and argue against vegans, who have to spend YEARS reading studies, researching, making complex arguments, and think you've come up with something new and clever that we haven't heard and debunked a million times before....
tbh i think there’s a middle ground between the ideas of “men don’t know how much they’re hurting us” and “men know exactly how much they’re hurting us and they get off on it”. my theory is that males (raised in the society that we are currently in) never fully developed theory of mind, and therefore truly cannot see women as humans equal to them. it’s almost like how people who eat mean can say “yes, i see how badly these cows and chickens are hurt when they’re slaughtered, but that’s what needs to happen for us to survive” when it’s fully untrue. humans can survive without meat perfectly fine, even though we don’t understand what’s happening in an animal’s mind and know that they don’t have as complex thoughts as we do. men can look at us, recognize our suffering, and then say the same thing because to them, we are just simply not equals. we are a level below. we don’t think the way they do. we don’t actually understand the deeper meaning behind song lyrics and we don’t actually know what’s good for us or not.
