Mindwarp (Brain Slasher, 1991)

MINDWARP (1991)
Christian fascism cannibalism matrix.
Interesting, violent, confusing movie. A view of society as directed towards death and destruction. Not moralizing, just analyzing: “This is what we do.” A no frills version of The Matrix where there are no machines. We are the machines, it’s all just us. Add to it matricide and incest and cannibalism.
We eat the flesh of our sacrificed God, don’t we? We celebrate this. So, why not sacrifice members of our community and drink their blood. We need rituals to create structure in a society. Especially one where life is harsh (because we have made it so, it didn’t have to be). So we live in these rituals, these dreams, that are what we call meaning. And it’s not that there isn’t an outside, we just don’t have access to one (so, no way of knowing if “it” is there). The Real is the Real because we cannot access it. It is the name we give that which is out of reach, and traumatic (like somebody vomiting parasites into one’s face).
Eventually we take the place of our fathers having killed our mothers (at least symbolically, on stage, a representation within a dream - a nice inversion of Freud). You eat your green slop and watch TV.

On December 30th 1969 two police officers died of bullet wounds during a raid on a house in Allison Street, Glasgow; a third was wounded.
Police in Glasgow still remember the murder of two officers, when one of their ex colleagues was spotted with a suspicious package after robbing a bank in Linwood. The horrifying case was led by an ex police officer, who was in jail until 2002.
Shortly after 4pm two officers were shot dead by a man seen acting suspiciously outside a flat in Govanhill on the south side of the city. Their suspect had just taken part in an armed robbery and was carrying the proceeds into the Allison Street tenement in suitcases.
When the two cops followed their man into the ground floor apartment, unaware of the earlier hold-up, he pulled out a gun and shot them dead. The double murder was all the more shocking because it was carried out by a former police officer and colleagu
A few hours later Howard Wilson, married with a young family, was sitting in his police cell in nearby Craigie Street Police Office confessing both murders to his bewildered lawyer Joe Beltrami.
Nineteen years later in his memoir Tales of the Suspected, Beltrami wrote: “As I listened to him. I kept asking myself what could have possessed him.
“He looked more like a businessman than a criminal.”
Wilson had quit the City of Glasgow police in 1968 after 10 years’ service when he failed to get promotion to sergeant.
Instead he opened a greengrocers, The Orchard in nearby Mount Florida. But the outlet, along with another shop he’d bought, was losing money.
His two best friends former prison officer Ian Donaldson, 31, and ex-cop John Sim, 21, both had young families and were also strapped for cash. During one late evening drinking session they joked about robbing a bank to solve all their financial worries. However, the morning after the night before it began to sound like a plan.
Who would suspect two former cops and a prison officer? They had no criminal records and their fingerprints were not on file. The money would also be used to pay off debts so it would disappear as quickly as it had been stolen.
Thus the pieces of a jigsaw were put in place that would result in a cold blooded double execution almost six months later.
The trio recruited a fourth man – Archibald McGeachie – to be their getaway driver, and bought a Russian pistol from the president of the Bearsden Shooting Club, of which all three were members. On July 16, dressed in smart suits and carrying briefcases they walked into the British Linen Bank in Giffnock, East Renfrewshire, and escaped with £20,876 (£270,000 now).
All three, however, were broke again by Christmas and, having got away with it once, planned another heist – this time a branch of the Clydesdale in Linwood, Renfrewshire on December 30.
However, McGeachie took cold feet and declined the job of getaway driver, leaving his three pals to do the job on their own.
On December 23, a week before, the second hold up, he disappeared from his home and was never been seen again.
His fellow robbers escaped this time with £14,000 – much of it in silver coins – which later proved significant when they were all spotted by a suspicious Inspector Andrew Hyslop transporting the suitcases. He recognised Wilson who he had once trained in the use of firearms.
Inspector Hyslop also suspected the trio were carrying stolen whisky, as he didn’t know about the bank robbery. He confronted all three in Wilson’s ground floor flat, having called in reinforcements from Craigie Street.
When the inspector bent down to open one of the cases, his former colleague shot him in the face. Detective Constable Angus MacKenzie and PC Edward Barnett, were then both shot in the head when they tried to arrest him.
As they fell, Wilson calmly stepped up to DC MacKenzie and shot him again, killing him outright.
His accomplice Donaldson had fled the flat, while Sim watched in horror. Wilson turned his attention to another former colleague PC John Sellars, who had taken refuge in the bathroom to radio for help but he couldn’t get through the door. Wilson then noticed Inspector Hyslop beginning to move on the floor, and went to finish him off.
A fifth officer, Detective Constable John Campbell flung himself across the hall at Wilson before he could fire again, saving his colleagues’ life.
DC Campbell managed to wrestle the gun from Wilson just as his fellow officers alerted by the sound of gunfire rushed into the flat.
There they found a scene of unimaginable horror. DC MacKenzie had been killed outright while PC Barnett would die five days later in hospital.
Wilson only seemed to regret only what he had done to DC MacKenzie, whose wife June he knew personally. As he was led away, he asked the arresting officers if they would apologise to her on his behalf.
When the three appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court on February 6, 1970, Wilson admitted the murders of Detective Constable McKenzie and Constable Barnett, attempting to murder Inspector Hyslop, threatening to shoot Constable Sellars, and to the bank robberies at Giffnock and Linwood. A week later, at the High Court in Edinburgh, Wilson was sentenced to life, with a recommendation that he should serve a minimum of 25 years. Donaldson and Sim were given 12 years each for their parts in the robberies.
Later that year it was announced that the Queen had approved awards of the George Medal to Inspector Hyslop and Detective Constable Campbell. Awards of the Queen’s Police Medal for Gallantry were posthumously awarded to Detective Constable McKenzie and Constable Barnett. In 1971, PC Sellars was awarded the Glasgow Corporation medal for bravery by the Lord Provost.
Detective Constable McKenzie left a widow, June, and Constable Barnett a widow, Margaret, and two children.
Of the three officers who survived, Inspector Hyslop suffered most as bullet parts had been left deeply embedded in his neck. After many months on sick leave Inspector Hyslop returned to duty. But the shock of his terrible experience had left him unfit to carry on and in June, 1971, he had to resign from the force and died on the island of Islay in 2000, aged 74.
In December 2009, on the 40th anniversary of the murders, Alastair organised a memorial service at Linn Crematorium in Castlemilk where the two officers are buried side by side, attended by their widows.
In September 2002, Wilson was finally freed after almost 33 years behind bars despite strenuous objections from the Scottish Police Federation.
At the time its chairman Norman Flowers, said: “We feel that anyone who murders a police officer should never be released. Life should mean life.”

Before The Lies
This is a 1700 dark AU each chapter as been written by amazing people if you are new to the story start with trap of lies which can be found here the rest of the chapters for before the lies can be found here.
Chapter 7
It was late at night as Charles prepared to Tonight meet with the mystery man again. He got in contact with him and asked to meet. The designated meet up location was behind an alleyway, where there was very little light. There was a hint about who the mystery man was and the more Charles thought about it, there was only one person it could be.
Standing in the damp, dark alleyway, the only sound that could be heard was the sound of the water hitting the ground. Charles looked into the shadows of the night and saw a dark figure coming closer to him. This time, he could make out more details about the other man, as it was clear now that it was a man. He was dressed very smart, his shirt had a gold pattern that matches his waist coat. He wore plain black trousers with a long and black coat that hovered just above the ground. Charles also noticed the gentleman was walking with a black cane which had a silver handle on the top.
As the figure got closer and closer to Charles, the hairs on the back of his neck started to stand up. He had never been nervous about meeting anyone before but this was different. There was something off about this but he couldn’t put his finger on it. He held his breath for a few seconds before slowly breathing out.
"Do you have what I came for?" The figure spoke slowly, blowing smoke into Charles’ face.
Charles answered, “Yes. Everything you need to know is in this file." His hand shook slightly as he handed the file over.
"Excellent. This is very good. Very good indeed. I knew I was right about you." A look of concussion hit Charles’ face as he remembered he had heard that voice before. It was Angus Barnett.
Charles suddenly realized that he had been selling secrets to Angus, shock ran across his face. Angus saw the shock appear on the other man’s features. Angus just stood there looking at Charles, with a grin on his face. In a fit of panic, Charles rushed away from that dark place as quickly as he could, all the way home, hoping that no one would see him coming out of the shadows.
Once home, he rushed to his study and wrote out a note, addressing it to Nathaniel. l He would meet him at the shop in the morning. This note instructed Nathaniel to alert all the helpers that gathered secrets and have them for him to keep a special watch on Angus Barnett.
Finding out about Angus had Charles worried. Why hadn’t he figured it out sooner. If he had, he wouldn't have sold him one of the biggest secrets ever. Charles started to wonder, when this was all said and done in the end, would it have been worth it. Worth going to battle against Angus. He was a powerful man and when he wanted something he got it. There was no way of knowing what he was going to do with the information he just obtained. Charles had to come up with a plan to find out what Angus Barnett was really up to.
Charles' thoughts turned to Janice. His face showed so much concern for her. He didn't want anything awful to happen to her, especially now he knew that Jake's father is Angus Barnett. Janice was a sweet, kind, caring woman and all Angus did was use her for his own sick pleasure. Charles wanted nothing more than to try and protect Janice as much as possible.
Over the next few days, Charles kept a special eye on Janice. He felt it was down to him to make sure that she was looked after and safe. The thought kept returning to him, He felt that in some way he owed it to her, after he sold one of his biggest secrets to be Angus.
Charles received daily updates from Nathaniel about Angus and his movements. He reported that something big was about to go down. Drugs would be brought into the docks and unloaded by Angus's men and were due to arrive in a couple of days. Charles told Nathaniel to keep reporting back and find out where Angus was taking the drugs.
The next morning, Charles was met at his shop by a very anxious Nathaniel. He had a note in his hand from Angus. The bastard wanted another meeting that night and Charles was to come alone. Panic started to rise in his body as he read the note. He tried to retain his composure and think of the best way to deal with this situation. He told Nathaniel to send word to Angus that he would meet him tonight at the agreed place. Charles paid Nathaniel well for his services, before he left the shop and the worried shop owner behind..
The day felt like it was never going to end. Charles had been in a panic all day thinking about this meeting. As soon as it was closing time, he hurried home to prepare for his meeting with Angus.
Mary greeted Charles with a soft smile and a kiss each evening when he arrived home. After supper, Charles told Mary that he was going to an important business meeting and would be back soon. He didn't like lying to his wife and he wasn't about to start. Picking up his hat and coat, he left the comforts of his home and made his way to the meeting place.
Arriving at a tavern that he had not been to before, Charles made his way inside to wait for Angus. The tavern was filled with smoke and there was a man in the corner playing the piano. The walls were decorated with a floral pattern. All around the room, there were women draped across men's knees, the men touching every part of the woman’s body.
The lighting made the room just about visible, the low flickering of the candles burning away on each table. Silence consumed the room when a loud bang was heard coming from the door. No one dared to speak until they were spoken to. Angus came walking across the room, hitting the bar with his cane, and a woman quickly came over with his drink. Drink in hand,Angus turned his attention to Charles, who was sitting in the corner. Beads of sweat started to roll down Charles face, he had never been this nervous before. Angus walked over and slammed his drink down onto the table causing Charles to jump slightly. Angus sat down looking right into Charles eyes, he could see the panicked look on his face.
"You're wondering why I requested you to meet me here tonight." A small chuckle left Angus’ lips. Before Charles could reply, he spoke again, "I know you have information on the drug deals that are happening soon. I want that file by tomorrow." Angus downed the rest of his drink and left the tavern.
Charles was left in a state of shock. Why did Angus think he had information on a drug deal that was supposed to be happening soon? Getting up from the table, he made his way home in a daze. He did not know what the hell he was going to do.
Nathaniel came to the shop the next morning, with some very important information about what was going to be happening with the drugs coming in. Charles was so happy to hear this news. Thanks to this young boy, he had just what Angus needed. Nathaniel handed him the piece of paper that had listed the dates when they would arrive.
The first shipment was due in the next couple of days and the boat would arrive by nightfall. There would be a group of men already there to take possession of the drugs. From there they will be taken back to an unknown location. The second shipment would arrive one week from the first and so on, in total 5 shipments of drugs would be arriving at the docks. Charles knew this was something Angus was keen on being a part of and he would deliver the information Angus needed.

so i decided to make murtogg a bit older than i originally had him. i had him the same age as norrington but found that to be a bit ... off for some reason. like there is no way ( in canon ) murtogg is 29 in COTPB. he did not look like a 29 year old. so decide to make murtogg 4 years older than norrington ( like giles new and jack davenport are in RL ). so with that being said, murtogg was born in 1696. this would mean in COTPB, DMC, and AWE he's 33 - 35 ( since they were set between 1728 and 1730 ). i don't count OST or DMTNT as canon ( only thing i count as canon is how murtogg looked in DMTNT ) ... but if i did he'd literally be 54. OH. AND MURTOGG'S AGES IN CANON MATCH HOW OLD GILES NEW WAS DURING ALL THE FILMS ( HE WAS IN ). SO THERE'S SOME ACCURATE AGE REPRESENTATION. LOL. also my original HC that mullroy is a lot older than murtogg is ironically accurate to angus barnett ( 60 ) and giles new ( 54 ). THAT IS ALL.

Raza Jaffrey as Dr. Neal Hudson, an ER attending physician. A British-Indian former surgeon, his approach is quieter and more people-oriented, than his mentor Dr. Rorish. He connected with Christa during her first year of residency. In "Hail Mary", Hudson becomes a surgical attending, and is once again assigned to the ER (season 1).[7][8]
Bonnie Somerville as Dr. Christa Lorenson, a mature first-year resident. She was married with a son who died of brain cancer. Her experience and her divorce inspired her to attend medical school (season 1).[7]
Melanie Chandra as Dr. Malaya Pineda, a first-year resident (seasons 1–2). She went to medical school and did her internship at Angels Memorial, and is more familiar with the ER. She is a lesbian, who was once involved with a resident when she was a medical student.
William Allen Young as Dr. Rollie Guthrie, an ER attending physician with a very nurturing style; he takes Angus under his wing in his first days in the ER. Guthrie's wife committed suicide, a death that strained his relationship with his son, a surgeon. During season 2, Guthrie is diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, and undergoes corrective neurological surgery to delay the onset of symptoms. Guthrie had a daughter who died from carbon monoxide poisoning while Guthrie tried to save his son from a similar death.
Harry Ford as Dr. Angus Leighton, a first-year resident. His father is on the hospital board. He feels overshadowed by that and by the achievements of his older brother, a former resident, but slowly grows in confidence. In his second year he is encouraged to transfer and become a surgical resident.
Benjamin Hollingsworth as Dr. Mario Savetti, a first-year resident. He grew up poor and sees emergency medicine as his way out. He worked as a bartender before medical school.
Luis Guzmán as Jesse Salander, known as "Mama". A senior nurse who manages the residents, Jesse is tough but caring and supportive of the students. He and Dr. Rorish have a long-term, close friendship.
Boris Kodjoe as Dr. Will Campbell, Chief of Surgery. In season 2 he is assigned as the new Chief of the combined Surgery and Emergency medicine department in order to save costs, causing strife between him and Rorish. Campbell has a disabled daughter (season 2–3; recurring in season 1).
Jillian Murray as Dr. Heather Pinkney, a surgical resident who becomes involved with Mario.(season 2; recurring in season 1). He quickly ends it when he hears about her side relationship with Dr. Campbell. She gets in further trouble when it's revealed she's providing Angus with Adderall. When confronted by Campbell, she threatens to turn their past relationship into a sexual harassment case.
Noah Gray-Cabey as Elliot Dixon, a first-year resident in the ER (season 2-3).
Emily Tyra as Noa Kean, an ER resident and former dancer. She begins a relationship with Dr. Mario Savetti (season 3; recurring season 2)
Emily Alyn Lind as Ariel Braeden (season 3; guest seasons 1–2)
Shiri Appleby as Dr. Carla Niven, a former resident at Angels Memorial and Malaya's ex-girlfriend. She is diagnosed with leukemia while pregnant, and refuses treatment not wanting to harm the baby.

On December 30th 1969 two police officers died of bullet wounds during a raid on a house in Allison Street, Glasgow; a third was wounded.
It was the darkest day in the history of policing history in Scotland, two officers were shot dead in the line of duty and a third left with crippling injuries.
The double murder was all the more shocking because it was carried out by a former police officer and colleague.
A few hours later Howard Wilson, married with a young family, was sitting in his police cell in nearby Craigie Street Police Office confessing both murders to his bewildered lawyer Joe Beltrami.
Nineteen years later in his memoir Tales of the Suspected, Beltrami wrote:
“As I listened to him. I kept asking myself what could have possessed him. He looked more like a businessman than a criminal.”
The trio recruited a fourth man – Archibald McGeachie – to be their getaway driver, and bought a Russian pistol from the president of the Bearsden Shooting Club, of which all three were members. On July 16, dressed in smart suits and carrying briefcases they walked into the British Linen Bank in Giffnock, East Renfrewshire, and escaped with £20,876 (over £270,000 now).
All three, however, were broke again by Christmas and, having got away with it once, planned another heist – this time a branch of the Clydesdale in Linwood, Renfrewshire on December 30th.
Detective Constable Angus MacKenzie and PC Edward Barnett, above, were then both shot in the head when they tried to arrest him.
As they fell, Wilson calmly stepped up to DC MacKenzie and shot him again, killing him outright.
His accomplice Donaldson had fled the flat, while Sim watched in horror.
Wilson turned his attention to another former colleague PC John Sellars, who had taken refuge in the bathroom to radio
for help but he couldn’t get through the door.
In 2019 wreaths were laid on their graves on the 50th anniversary of their deaths.
In September 2002, Wilson was finally freed after almost 33 years behind bars despite strenuous objections from the Scottish Police Federation.
At the time its chairman Norman Flowers, said: “We feel that anyone who murders a police officer should never be released. Life should mean life.”
While incarcerated, he wrote a crime novel entitled Angels of Death which won a Koestler award. The Allison street murders were made into a TV Movie in 2011 called Sgeulachd Howard Wilson - Cop Turned Killer

Hi! I've found you on Tumblr and I'm extremely happy for that (a divine find!). I know your art from FA and I love your style.
The prompt suggests a question, so here's a small one. Do you enjoy much art outside of the one that's similar to yours?
Well, that's it. All good wishes. ^^
oh hell yes of course i do!!
when asked what my Favorite kind of art is my mind IMMEDIATELY goes to Northwest Coast art. ever since i was a kid i've been VERY obsessed with formline art and still very much so am.
[artist: trevor angus]
as a kid my first interaction with formline art was in the form of The Spirit of Haida Gwaii by Bill Reid - a sculpture formerly featured on the canadian 20 dollar note. there's a copy of it hanging out in the museum of national history and i really need to go back to appreciate it now that i'm not a kid with an obligation to stick with a tour group. i DID get to glimpse the Jade Canoe edition in the vancouver airport for a fleeting moment between late connections - needless to say i was very heartbroken that i couldn't stick around to appreciate its detail.
the thing i absolutely go feral for are orcas in formline art. nothing - i repeat - NOTHING can compare to the sheer grip this animal in this art style has on me. i do not really have words to explain it, how i came to love this or why, i am just very enthusiastic about orcas in this style and have been for as long as i can remember.
i have a tiny handful of pins and merch made by various Haisla, Namgis and Haida artists - though only a few artists offer orca art. i don't want to just impulse-buy whatever orca i can find [etsy for example is a hellhole of stolen / appropriated art and i ain't for it] so i'm just patiently waiting around until an artist from a pacific northwest community puts up an art piece for sale.
[artist: Cori Savard - this particular print is on my to-buy list i just need to save the coin for it hhhhh]
now, completely unrelated to formline art.
i am also a fan of The Voice of Fire by Barnett Newman; if only for the fact that the museum bought this piece for 1.8 million and then proceeded to display it in the most OMINOUSLY EMPTY ROOM THEY HAD IN THE WHOLE BUILDING. my love for this painting isn't necessarily in the painting itself, but the presentation. i have stood in this room. occasionally there are other sculptures in there, but for the most part it just lingers there, isolated, glaring at you.
if we're going more into fandom culture and independent artists online, while i cannot say I've a particular Art Idol, i am a huge fan of [for lack of a better word for it] the kemono art style. i don't want to go and repost other artist's work without permission here, or make this post Even Longer, so i'll just point you in the direction of a few artists that draw in the style i'm talking about. it's first thing in the morning and i'm just barely waking up so i'm only going to post a small handful
terenry / terenryrm
mochiri
ev-oo
moonagvaze
i have a character design by terenry so i can post him as an example since i own the oc now [this is the watermarked art i pulled from my Toyhouse. the watermark is there to deter oc / art thieves but the artwork itself is by terenry]
sorry this ended up being really long aAaAA don't get me started on my favorite art i will never shut up about it. i can and will ramble for Hours about it. to say art is a passion of mine is a criminal understatement.
