A little treat for anyone reading Liminality:
Tumblr media
So.
I commissioned @valkblue for one of her Christmas slots and requested Liminality Frankie with a *few* little hidden treats included …and this is the outcome. (Anyone that can pick out these details is welcome to come scream about them with me!!!).
CURLS. HAT. TATTOOS. EYE CRINKLES. FOREARMS. SCRUFF. THE GRAY IN HIS BEARD. THE TINY SMIRK. THE SHIRT (that was clearly a gag gift from one of the other guys!)There is so much to look at and love 😩😭.
Angie, he is absolutely PERFECT. From the top of his curly head to the tips of his fingers, I could not be happier with this. Thank you so much for putting so much love and attention into what you do.
If you ever have the opportunity to work with Angie for a painting, I HIGHLY recommend it. She’s a dream and will go above and beyond to give you exactly what you’re looking for when it comes to bringing your character to life.

You mentioned it before so now I must know: Which bug has Gonta assigned each of his friends to and for what reason?
OKAY HERE WE GO BABY
Shuichi- blue noctuid moth! Shuichi has big moth vibes, and (according to research the author has done) this moth is sometimes associated with death :) but it is very pretty
Kirumi- orb weaver spider! Spiders are arachnids, not insects, but Gonta still likes them- and orb weavers are very delicate and organized spiders, often observed tearing down and rebuilding their web daily (i have seen this with my own eyes it rocks)
Korekiyo- praying mantis! Tall and thin, can come across as unsettling, but is sorta just minding its own business. Stares at you for too long.
Himiko- ladybug! Small and cute and round, with a similar color scheme and habit of just hanging out wherever they feel like. Also fall asleep like…. As soon as they are somewhere cold or dark. Which is endearing
Ryoma- June Bug! (June beetle) a small, round, endearing beetle in the scarab family. Are very small and resilient (despite their clumsy and self destructive flight patterns)often used to symbolize transformation? Apparently? Christmas beetle would also work for him tbh.
Kaito- firefly! (Lightning bug, fire bug, etc) while not as flashy as Kaito tends to be at first glance, these little show stoppers quite literally light up the night sky like little stars in lonely rural eras
Angie- painted lady butterfly! Maybe a little obvious, but this tiny butterfly has splattered oranges and white and black across its wings to make a vibrant pattern! They also fly around very excitedly, and are attracted to bright colored flowers like echinacea or sunflowers
Rantaro- Atlas Moth! A large, striking moth found in many parts of Asia, with beautiful eye markings and wings that bare a strange resemblance to cobra heads as well. Often used to symbolize travel and wandering
Miu- primrose moth! partially for her signature pink and yellow color scheme, partially for their pickiness when it comes to host plants, and partially because these little critters are often active day and night once they pupate and reach adulthood.
Kiibo- Pill bug! (Rolly Polly, Armadillo Bug, etc) a tiny isopod that’s more related to shrimp and crustaceans than true insects, with slate gray armored backs they have a tendency to hide behind if startled
Kokichi- Emperor Moth Caterpillar (and the moth itself) a very flashy little creature with eye designs and frills along its body to trick predators, known for that one metaphor that symbolizes life’s struggles
Kaede- Monarch Butterfly! A delicate but incredibly resilient butterfly with very vibrant colors!! Often used to symbolize strength and endurance
Tenko- Grasshopper! A high energy insect found all over the world, known for their high jumps and cute little chirps
Maki- Glasswing Butterfly! Small, delicate butterflies with translucent wings they used to blend in with their surroundings. Pollinate and lay their eggs on plants in the poisonous nightshade family
Tsumugi- Leaf Cutter Bee! While a little more plain looking than other bee species (heh heh) these bees are very unique! They cut parts of leaves to make their home, stitching together little nests for winter.
Gonta sees himself as a rhino beetle, big and silly and strong enough to protect his friends!!

Angelica (Anjerika) is the fourth wife of Karlheinz Sakamaki, stepmother of the Sakamaki brothers, and birth mother of Akira and Sofia. Unlike Karlheinz'z other wives, Angelica was/is very caring and loving to the boys, and is considered to be their actual mother.
Appearance
Angelica is a beautiful woman with wavy light pink hair that she wore in a loose French braid, light pink colored eyelashes, has fair skin, and possesses lovely silver eyes.
In the past, Angelica wore an outfit that took some inspiration from the Victorian era but with more dreamlike and fantastical elements: she wore a glittery off-the-shoulder royal blue dress with a slit in the front, which showcased light blue ruffles underneath. She also wore a silver colored headband with floral decorations, a royal blue choker with a sapphire pendant, dark gray colored leggings, rose colored lipstick, and black heels.
In the present, Angelica wears more modern clothing for casual wear: she wears an oversized cream colored cable knit sweater, black high waisted jeans, and black flats. She wears the wedding ring from Karlheinz on her ring finger, while she wears the wedding ring from her first husband, Wolfgang, on a thin gold chain around her neck.
Personality
Angelica is a kind, considerate, confident, protective, and motherly individual. She looks out for those she considers to be close to her, whether they are family or friends, even at the cost of her personal wellbeing. She also has a strong sense of duty to her family and is willing to do whatever it takes to keep them from harm.
In comparison to Karlheinz's other wives with their children, Angelica is painted as a saint since she wasn't strict with Akira regarding his studies (she still believed it to be important) and allowed him to have fun and to take breaks.
It takes a lot for Angelica to lose her temper as she's typically calm and collected, but when someone pushes her over the edge (ex: when she learned what Cordelia was doing to Laito), she becomes a rather fearsome woman, making people avoid her path so they don't get caught up in whatever is going down.
History
In the story An Angel's Embrace, Angelica was personally selected by Karlheinz to become his fourth wife after the death of her first husband, Wolfgang. She would give birth to his heir, Akira, and his three other wives (Cordelia, Beatrix, and Christa) would eventually get pregnant and give birth to their respective children as precautionary heirs if something were to happen to Akira before he could ascend to the throne.
Even though Karlheinz told her that she didn't have to interact with them, Angelica would go out of her way to meet and play with each of the Sakamaki brothers, as their mothers weren't giving them the love and care that they needed.
Angelica spending time with the boys would become more frequent when her son Akira would unfortunately lose his life when a group of vampire hunters attacked the mansion, a result of him sacrificing himself for the safety of his mother and brothers.
While Beatrix and Cordelia (the mothers of Shu, Reiji, and the triplets respectively) were killed in separate incidents, Christa and Angelica were the only ones to survive to present day, but Angelica is the only one to continue raising the boys to adulthood and be in the public eye with Karlheinz, mainly due to the two having another child, a girl named Sofia.
Relationships
Angelica's relationships with the Sakamaki brothers (past)
Angelica's relationships with the Sakamaki siblings (present)
Angelica's relationships with other members of the Sakamaki family
Angelica's relationship with Yui Komori
Angelica's relationships with the Mukami brothers (past)
Angelica's relationships with the Mukami brothers (present)
Angelica's relationships with the Tsukinami Brothers
Etymology
Angelica's surname Amor means derives from Latin origin: as the Spanish word 'amor' means "love".
Abilities
Possesses most of the basic racial skills of the four superior demonic sub-races (Vampire, Vibora, Wolves and Adler), but does not possess their weaknesses.
Fun Facts
Angelica is often assumed to be Caucasian due to her fair skin.
She is based off of Gyokuyou from The Apothecary Diaries, Violet Bridgerton and Kate Sharma from Bridgerton, Morticia Addams from The Addams Family, Julieta Madrigal from Encanto, and etc.
Angelica and Christa were the only wives to wear light colors.
Beatrix and Christa were the only other wives that Angelica was friendly with.
Angelica is the oldest of her siblings.
Out of all the brothers, Angelica spent the most time with Subaru. This is due to what happened with his birth mother Christa and her getting locked in a tower.
In the past, Angelica would take the boys to go horseback riding with her: she wishes to do this with Sofia due to her being older now.
She is the only one of the wives to have been married before.
For unknown reasons, she hates pickles.
------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
This was a bit hard for me to do, but I think it turned out pretty good. Also, if I got the Kanji and Romaji for Angelica's name wrong, please let me know so I can fix it.

Cognac and brandy, dried flowers, old books and yellowed pages, clean soap, hothouse lilies, warm pine
Fashion:
Long skirts and sleeves, hand-me-down princesscore, comfortable dresses, cowgirl-getup, very Edwardian period accurate clothing
Objects:
Embroidery hoop (half-done), an tattered romance novel with a worn out spine, a box of secret treasures, an almost empty bottle of alcohol, a stained crystal glass with the dregs still in it, a jar of potpourri, a collection of essays (are they fanfics???)
Body Language:
Nervous, hands clasped, head bowed, eyes shifting from one side of the room to the other, staying close to the wall, trying to blend in with the curtains, a far-off look in their eyes, fingers tracing the faces in a classical painting, flinching, fidgeting
Aesthetic:
Gothic princesscore, melancholic walks in the garden, sitting at the bar with a long, wistful look on their face, tears dripping onto a hand mirror in their lap, running through the forest without direction, staring up at the sky with hope and anxiousness, curled up in an old high-back chair with a comforting book

Ten Random Lines Tag

Tagging: @theramwrites @puzzleddragon02 @saltysupercomputer @aether-wasteland-s @lexiklecksi and anyone else who wants to!
Okay I really only have 2 main WIPs but sure we can see snippets of some tiny things......
Second Chance I don’t even have to explain to Hayln why I am actually still alive, because it’s a null day (that really is a good name for it. On the Base we call it pre-day and post-day, in reference to when the reversal occurs). Except here’s the funny thing: Turns out, since I didn’t exist, the most natural thing to occur is for me to simply not exist for about 16 hours. When I explain to the Spirit that No, I am NOT okay with that, it says that if I really want to, we can resist that natural couse of events.
Syndicate He flashed a smile. “Morning, sleepyhead,” he said and came over, picking up mugs from the desk that I hadn’t noticed and bringing them over. He handed me one. “Got you coffee.” A string and tag on the side of his mug showed he was having tea.
Drake Knight I look to the sky, pausing three-quarters down the alley to catch a breath and attempt to wipe some of the coffee off the front of my shirt. It’s empty for a bit, just a gray sky, but then a shadow passes over us and I see it clearly for the first time. Nothing special, the dark gray scales indicate it’s probably from the mountains. But it’s smaller than I expected. Most dragons you fight are adults, but this one isn’t much larger than an elephant. I think it is anyway, hard to tell from the flyby.
Angie & Eddie So Angie stood up and made her way to Target. Passed the cart return, the shampoo bottles, the spa day bins with images of thin women relaxing. She went down the band-aid aisle, the cold medicine aisle, the muscle relaxants. She paused, facing a wall full of pads. She’d been in a slight daze, half convincing herself this wasn’t real, but not she had to focus because where the fuck were they? God, she wasn’t going to have to ask someone, was she?
Creative Nonfiction Portfolio In my dorm, the top left dryer doesn’t work. I’ve put wet laundry inside and returned to find wet laundry. After that, I avoided that dryer for weeks, until it was the only one available so I let it run through, figuring if it didn’t work there would be an open dryer by then. Lo and behold, my laundry remained wet. Have I reported it to the conveniently posted number hanging on the laundry room wall? Nope. Everyone seems aware it’s broken, someone must’ve reported it. And ultimately, we’ll live. But, that’s just a dryer. No one’s in any danger.
Immortal Souls The rain picked up. Back home, inside, I loved rain, but now I hated it. I pulled my hood up to cover my head and swung my backpack over my shoulder, moving off the bench and under an awning of a corner store. It was the kind of building that looked like it had been passed down between different owners, none of which bothered to change the old sign. An ancient hand-painted sign that said “Collier’s” was faded and mounted above a newer, stenciled sign that said “Watkin’s Market.” A glance around told me that Watkin’s was the name of the street, so, definitely not the most creative. It was advertising cheap cell phones and beer, so not much of a market either.
The Snow Queen Retelling "What’you suppose they are, demons or something? Goblins? Nothing like the ones at the church. That one looks like he can fly.” He stared at it, getting lost in the red of the glass, a color that stood out in the colorless castle. He hadn’t noticed it before. Or, he remembered, he’d thought it was stupid, that the colors gave him a headache. He’d never stopped to take them in, to look at how pretty the colors were when light shone through them.
Faye & Myra-- Summer Hangout I felt like crying, but that would be way worse right now and I couldn’t face it. I took a deep breath and pushed it away. I grabbed the few tintypes I’d taken out of the box, brought the box back, and purchased them. I went over to Olivia.
Layla In an instant, the numb feeling of being disconnected vanished, and panic rushed through me. Twitches underneath my eyes warned me that tears were coming, and then they did, filling my eyes and blurring the message. My mouth quivered, my breathing was speeding up. What was he doing? Couldn’t this be over? Hadn’t he gotten what he wanted?
Lialyn Lialyn was a kingdom of Mages. Every part of their lives had been shaped around the fact that everyone, from the rich to poor, learned magic. As the prince, he and his sister were expected to master as soon as possible. They were supposed to be superior in magic the way other countries had their royalty superior in swordfighting. Which meant that Sam had failed his family from the start.

Cleopatra's Vendetta by Avanti Centrae
Tumblr media
About the Book:
Bari, Italy, present day. Think tank Special Ops leader Timothy Stryker and his wife Angie, a self-made CEO, haven't exactly been seeing eye-to-eye. They take a much-needed Italian holiday, but it comes to a shocking end when Angie and their daughter are kidnapped.
Still raw from the death of their infant son, Stryker is desperate to rescue Angie and reconcile their differences. As he works to locate the captors' lair, he discovers the kidnappers are behind a string of recent assassinations and attempting another high-profile hit in only seven days. But when he learns their plans for his only remaining child, the scab on his heart tears open and blood begins to spill.
Working from inside her brutal captors' high-security compound, Angie realizes the cabal is hiding an ancient secret using modern propaganda techniques. And as Stryker races hitmen across India, Egypt, and Greece to thwart the next assassination and save his family, he has to connect a series of deadly dots tracing all the way back to the time of Cleopatra. Ultimately, the estranged pair must shake the deeply-buried pillars of western civilization to save their four-year-old daughter from an unspeakable fate.
Reviews:
“Royal secrets. Epic lies. This “dangerous” and controversial standalone thriller from international bestselling VanOps author Avanti Centrae is a fast-paced bombshell of a story about truth and courage.
Born a goddess, Cleopatra died a prisoner. But the cobra’s deadly kiss was just the beginning…
Fascinating, provocative, original, and timely, Cleopatra’s Vendetta is a sizzling novel that paints a disturbing picture of some of the most intricate issues that have plagued humanity’s past…challenges that color our days and provide the blueprint for our future.”

About the Author:
#1 International bestselling author who blends intrigue, history, science, and mystery into pulse-pounding action thrillers
Avanti Centrae always wanted to be a writer. Her father served as a U.S. marine corporal in Okinawa, gathering military intelligence during the first decade after the Korean War and her mom was a teacher. She grew up haunting silver bookmobiles in the Midwest but her practical family urged her to get a degree in computer technology, which she did. Eventually, she became a Silicon Valley IT executive, but her heart wasn’t in it. Before her hair began to turn gray, she had a health scare, which forced her to face her own mortality. At the top of the bucket list was becoming a bestselling author. She decided to break free of the golden handcuffs to pursue her dream. After years of drafting, editing, and finding an agent and publisher, her debut, VanOps: The Lost Power, released as an instant Barnes and Noble Nook bestseller. It went on to win three literary awards. Solstice Shadows, VanOps #2 quickly became a #1 Amazon bestseller in the U.S. and Canada, before winning a bronze medal at the Readers' Favorite book awards and nabbing the Chanticleer Global Thrillers Genre Grand Prize.
The Doomsday Medallion won an Honorable Mention at the Southern California Book Awards, was a quarterfinalist in the Publisher's Weekly Booklife contest, and was a finalist in the Book Excellence Awards. It also hit the Top 100 in the Canadian and Australian Amazon Kindle stores. Her trademark blend of intrigue, history, science, and mystery has been compared to that of James Rollins, Steve Berry, Dan Brown, and Clive Cussler. When not travelling the world or hiking in the Sierra mountains, she’s writing her next breathtaking thriller in Northern California, helped by her family and distracted by her German shepherds.
