Reflections of the Year (2019)/Decade: I will continue to wear sunglasses and carry an umbrella I'm both sad and grateful to see the end of this year. As I reflected on what I lost, I also remembered to cherish what I gained during this decade. This year I said farewell to my mom (June). But in the three years prior I was able to say hello to her and get to know her in a special way. So I was by her side, holding her hand as she went. This year I said farewell to my Grandmother (December). But I remember in this past decade I was able to keep my promise, once made, to see her in person at least once a year - usually in July for her birthday. This year I almost lost the love of my life twice (May & July). And he's still here because he improved his health in the past 10 years. God is a healer and a restorer of health. Thank God for great doctors - even if they can't discern the root cause, they provided viable plans for improved health - and praying family and friends. And in the midst of these challenges just this year, God has blessed me to forge new and deeper relationships - social media has been a precious, precious gift this year … and to learn and grow through the ones that have changed. Each day remains an opportunity to choose how you see the world and all that happens. I am free to feel how I feel when I feel it. Without cloudy skies and rain, there's a limited appreciation of the clear sky and sunshine. And OMG, I had to take most of my earrings out (some didn't cooperate, and they were able to compensate w/tape). Felt so naked. While I couldn't breathe well through my left nostril... now I can't breathe through either... until Thursday...when the packing comes out. WooHoo! PSA...take care of your breathing. I've had sinus infections before. But I found this need because I was having issues w/my hearing. Partner w/doctors interested in your health care not your sick care.
