What I Read in August 2023

Took ages to even find a decent copy of this book, but quite worth it. Some sad moments, but overall quite a good story and ending to the duology.

Finally hustled and finished re-reading this. Man, don't remember how depressed and traumatized Harry was in this book, poor kid.

Quite fun. ^_^ (and very relatable!)

Intrigues galore!

I was feeling down so I decided to read a couple children's books on my shelves. I do love the art in this.

So cute

Really enjoyed Bransen had to start becoming part of the world beyond himself, his wife and mother in law, kicking a screaming. Also the poweries were hilarious but I'd never want to meet one.

Not sure quite how I feel about this one, I have gotten volume two but the focus on ego and such is kinda annoying to be honest. ^_^'

Another children's book palette cleanser. Love the art.

Read this series online as a fan translation years ago, so am happy to be reading it now in physical properly translated format. It's adorable and heartbreaking (poor Yuzu goes through so much).

I laughed a lot reading this.

Further adventures in trauma land. I was glad with Eren's journey of "being normal" and "not special" and that being okay.

Very sweet really, and silly.

ghostbusters became so popular, they formed the ghostbusters corporation. one of the new members, william linden, worked with egon spengler to create this machine to save an alternate version of new york they had been alerted to.

in other canon, william is transported to [ insert your fandom here ] when the machine malfunctions. it zaps about 24 hours of his memory and he can’t figure out exactly how to replicate the conditions to return home.

Who is Ninjak?

MI6’s charming but ruthless super spy and mercenary for hire, Ninjak, is the wealthy son of Colin King. Colin’s parents were operatives with MI6 at a young age, keeping them away.

As an adult, King joins MI6, where he trains under Angelina Alcott’s guidance and soon began a secret affair. A year later, the Undead Monk sent, Xaman to assassinate Angelina. With his new handler, Neville Alcott, King went hunting down Angelina’s killer.

The investigation led the two the Himalayas. King infiltrated the monastery as a student and killed Xaman. However, in doing so, he was banished.

As the years passed and his training was complete, Colin climbed the ranks and gained the codename Ninja-K and becoming a freelance agent.

When Aric of Dacia arrived back to earth, King was tasked to kill the displaced Visigoth upon the request of the Vine infiltrators that worked at MI6. When King and Aric learned of the deception of the Vine infiltrator’s the two came together and eliminated the Vine Plantings. Upon the formation of Unity, Ninjak would work aside Aric, The Eternal Warrior, his former love interest, Livewire, and later members of Faith Herbert, Gin-Gr.

Continuing his investigation with the Shadow Seven, he would infiltrate the Weaponeers, a weapon dealing group, where he met an operative named Roku. Roku is the enforcer for the Shadow Seven.

After toppling the leadership of the Weaponeer’s, Ninjak joined forces with Punk Mambo, where they entered the Deadside. Their mission was to retrieve a missing MI6 team.

2005: Joss Whedon hired to write and direct the movie but left the project in 2007. Considered Wonder Woman to be “basically Angelina Jolie”
