༺☆༻ Introduction ༺☆༻
Tumblr media
Hello!
We’re the dynamic duo behind “𝕐our 𝕃ocal 𝕊imp 𝕎riters,” just a couple of friends who love to get lost in the world of stories and games. We’re here to share our passion for writing and all the geeky stuff we can’t get enough of.
♡ About Us ♡
I’m 𝒞𝓁𝑜𝓊𝒹 and I’m all about gaming and art. You’ll often find me with a controller in one hand and a comic book in the other. My better half, the yin to my yang. She’s the partner in crime, the sweet melody to my wild riffs, and the one who brings a touch of grace to our shared tales of adventure and heart, 𝒞𝒽𝒾𝑒𝓃𝓃𝑒! She is the other half of this storytelling team. We both love creating stories that’ll make you feel like you’re right there with the characters.
♡ Our Writing ♡
We write what we love, and we love what we write. Our stories are inspired by our current fascinations—be it a game, a movie, or a manga. If it’s interesting and fascinating to us, it’s fair game for our writing.
Most of our stories are “x female reader” because that’s where we feel most at home. Occasionally, we’ll write “x gender-neutral reader” pieces for a bit of variety. However, we generally steer clear of “x male reader” or “OC x canon” stories. We want to create a space where female readers can see themselves in the worlds we love so much.
❤︎ 𝒞𝓁𝑜𝓊𝒹 '𝓈 Interests:
Gaming: I’m a huge fan of Kingdom Hearts, Batman Arkham games, Mortal Combat, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Doom 3, Phasmophobia, Five Nights At Freddy’s, Twisted Wonderland, Call of Duty, Halo 3 and 4, Sonic and Transformers. If it’s a game or relating to horror, chances are I love it.
Comics: Batman is my passion. I collect anything related to the Dark Knight, and my collection is my pride and joy.
Anime/Manga: I'm into One Piece, Princess TuTu, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Jujutsu Kaisen, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Kingdom Hearts, Sgt. Frog, Free!, HellSing, and a bunch more. I have also seen MHA, Fairy Tail, Dragon Ball, Soul Eater, Naruto, Castlevania, Diabolik Lovers and more.
Disney & Tim Burton: I’m a Disney kid at heart. My top 5 Disney movies are Treasure Planet, Cinderella 3, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and The Princess and the Frog. And I’m all about Halloween and everything Tim Burton.
Music: I love RnB and Y2K music so much! However, you can usually find me listening to cutesy, cheesy love songs.
❤︎ 𝒞𝒽𝒾𝑒𝓃𝓃𝑒’𝓈 Interests:
Gaming: I’m definitely not the biggest gamer around, but I do love to play Roblox, Fortnite, and Minecraft! Sometimes I’ll also dabble in some fall guys, FNAF or Poppy’s Playtime. On Roblox, I love to play pretty much anything but pvp games due to the fact that I’m not the best at them. Horror games are probably my favorite, even though I’m a chicken!
Anime/Manga: My favorites are definitely Fairy Tail, Jojo’s bizarre adventure, Naruto, and Demon slayer. I’ve also watched MHA, Danganronpa, Yona of the Dawn, Food wars, High Rise Invasion, Angels of death, and more!
Disney and Tim Burton: I’m definitely a Disney girl! I love all Disney Princess movies, both animated and live action. My top three not in any particular order would have to be Tangled, The Little Mermaid, and Princess and the Frog. For Tim Burton, my favorites are the classics, The nightmare before Christmas and Corpse bride.
Books: I’m also a huge book girly! My favorite genre has to be fantasy/sci-fi. My favorite book series is The Lunar Chronicles, I definitely recommend it!
♡ Join the Fun ♡
This is an invitation to you, dear reader, to become a part of our narrative. Engage with us, inspire us, and let us inspire you.
So, come on in, get comfy, and let's share the joy of stories. The next chapter is always the best one, and it starts right here, with you and us. Requests are always welcome in the ask box! and even inquiries, should you have any!
With all the warmth in our hearts,
𝒞𝓁𝑜𝓊𝒹 & 𝒞𝒽𝒾𝑒𝓃𝓃𝑒
P.S: 𝒞𝓁𝑜𝓊𝒹 drew the image, just so most people can get a idea of what we look like♡ AND THE G.M FIARY BOOK IS FOR FUN, for the pure shits and giggles TRUST

jupiter family media taste hcs
this is stupid but idrc. my blog.
David listens to like, classic 90s rock. Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Radiohead, Smashing Pumpkins - that whole lot. He also really likes classic, OG 80s metal (metallica, judas priest, dio, etc.). He developed his music taste from 95 to 99 and never really got into stuff after that. Hes a grumpy old man about his music and will never stray from his ol reliable stack of dusty CDs. Where he's a grandpa about his music though, this man will watch basically any movie that comes out and say "that was pretty good" in his opinion cinema peaked with 2001 a Space Odyssey and Saving Private Ryan. Hal tried to show him Akira or Ghost in the Shell and he got wayyyyyy confused. He doesn't really watch TV other than blankly staring at history channel and animal planet "documentaries" and manly man reality TV shows when there's nothing better to do
Hal has a really eclectic collection of music that is constantly changing. However the most common thread of music he likes is 80s New Wave and synth - The Smiths, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Joy Division, Duran Duran. That kinda stuff. However his playlist went on to be full of vocaloid songs, neo-synthwave, break core and he got into more experimental stuff as he got older (even then he never fully dug deep, just started listening to Bjork and Kate Bush yk?) He also loves soundtracks and *loves* lofi hip hop. We already basically know Hal's taste in movies/tv so instead im gonna say his favorite anime movie is Akira, his favorite non-anime movie is Brazil and if you ask him his favorite anime he'll go on and on and on about a super obscure mecha anime from the 80s. I think hes a massive cinephile and huge nerd about his movies and shows but it's literally only for anime and sci fi and occasionally action stuff. Ask him about the complexities of Apocalypse Now or the symbolism in Blue Velvet and he'll just give you a blank stare.
Sunny ended up with like. The weirdest combination of her parents tastes. She LOVESSSSS vocaloid and LOVESSSS anime but in a tweenager in the mid 2010s way you know. This girl was in the Black Butler, Attack on Titan, Fairy Tale, Soul Eater TRENCHES. She also got into a lot of alt music but it was. you know. Fall Out Boy and Panic at the Disco and baby's first alt band stuff. What a crazy lil gal.
Raiden was a nu-metal kid big time. He was always bumping Korn and Slipknot and System of a Down. He was also really into 90s industrial like Rammstein, Nine Inch Nails, and KMFDM. He kinda grew out of this but not really, just mellowed out and got into more 'mainstream' alt like Radiohead and Elliot Smith. As we know, Raiden is a canonical filmbro (getting into fights with random women about pointless details in movies). I think he lovessssss neo noir and crime thrillers. Anything dark and gritty he just adores. Taxi Driver, Fight Club, Fallen Angels, Clockwork Orange, Crash, Prisoners <- whatevere this genre is he just eats that shit up. Hes a total snob, but not like. In a french film school way in a over 500 entries on letterboxd way. He's subscribed to like evry major movie review channel and it's impossible to take him out to any kinoplex because he just starts ranting on the state of modern cinema. He still maintains this snobbery and its only gotten worse lmao

Dream Eater - Chapter 2 - Part 2
Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
"Come in and tell me all about it."
Dante lets me go and leads the way inside.
His apartment is long and narrow and runs half the length of the warehouse.
One wall is all window and most of the space is taken up with art supplies.
Finished works line the other walls.
Like everything about them, Dante's paintings are elegant, refined and classically inspired.
Most feature nudes but none are obscene... which is surprising, coming from a sex-demon.
I've modeled for them in the past and my own face stares back at me from more than one place on the wall.
I look up at the largest example.
The guy in the painting has pale skin smooth as cream, eyes like liquid emeralds, silky brown curls and a mouth like ripe fruit.
Dante says they only paint the truth but the guy in the painting is not who I see in the mirror.
I glance over at the full-length one Dante uses for self-portraits.
The guy in the mirror looks like... well, he looks like he could use a shower and a warm meal... which, honestly, is why I'm here.
Dante's 'living room' is a collection of mismatched furniture arranged in a semi-circle against one corner.
I drop into a chair and they recline elegantly on a low sofa.
By the time I finish my story, they're sitting up, leaning forward with interest.
Even without recounting too many details, recalling the dream has me shaking again at the memory of so much fear and pain.
"And this guy has these dreams 'every time he sleeps'?" Dante asks, incredulous.
I nod.
"There's no way he's human. I mean, I'm a fucking 'dream-eater' and one time, was too much."
"You really think he might be Fallen?" Dante's deep purple eyes are bright with fascination.
Human religions are a mix of vague truths and fairy-tales.
Angels and Devils, Asuras and Devas, Aesir and Vanir, Gods and Titans... all are names for the same thing.
Basically, a long time ago there was this fight between two kinds of powerful beings and one side lost.
They are the Fallen.
They're dangerous and they're not supposed to be on this earthly plane.
"But I don't know how he could be," I say. "I mean, he didn't know I was a demon and he seems to genuinely thinks he's just an architect but that dream..." I shudder.
I can always tell when a dream is a memory or at least based on one.
Things are clearer.
Sometimes I can pick up smells and tastes, remembered sensations but nothing as strong as what I experienced with Damien Knight.
That shit was real.
"It sounds like one of the Hell realms, alright," Dante muses. "But if he somehow managed to escape from that, he's either very clever or one badass motherfucker or both. Whatever he is, he's trouble. I'd stay away if I were you."
"Don't worry," I laugh and rub my hands over my face. "If I never see him again it'll be too soon."
********
Dante agrees to let me stay with them until I can figure out my next move.
In exchange, they ask that I sit for them, as often and for as long as they ask.
This means hours of posing naked and motionless while Dante paints.
It's not my favorite thing but it beats the alternative.
By the end of the week, the thousand dollars is almost gone and I haven't had much luck with new clients.
I got two but they were both pretty weak.
One guy dreamed his checkbook wouldn't balance and he had to go through about ten thousand receipts to make sure they all added up.
The boredom wasn't worth the small amount of energy he gave me.
The other was a woman whose worst nightmare was that she came second in a marathon.
I mean, if I could finish a marathon at all, I'd be happy.
There was a lot of running and I woke up feeling like I'd lost energy rather than gained any.
Dante is generous but I can't stay with them forever.
I give myself two days to come up with new clients or a new plan.
After that... I don't want to prove Max right but I've done worse to survive.
I'm in the middle of redesigning my profile page on the job site, when a message from another social media platform pops up.
It's from Damien Knight.
Fuck.
Of course I used my real name on the job app and he must've traced it. I open the message.
Alex,
Since you haven't responded through the other site, I'm reaching out here. I'd like to schedule another session with you for my dreams. When can we meet?
Damien
I hesitate but then reply.
I'm booked. Not taking any clients.
There. Short and sweet.
He replies immediately.
I'll pay double your rate. $2,000 for two hours.
Ha ha... that's not double.
That's ten times my rate but he doesn't know that.
Proud of my resolve, I type...
'Sorry. No can do.'
I hit send.
Minutes tick by, and I start to feel hopeful that he got the message and gave up.
I go back to editing my profile, when another message pops up.
'I'll pay anything. Name your price.'
Jeez. Will this guy not take a hint?
On a whim, I answer.
$25,000.
His reply is immediate.
Done. When?
Shit. I stare at my screen.
You how people say stuff like, 'I wouldn't do that for any money?'
Well, most of the time they don't mean it and most of the time neither would I.
Not this time.
I'm sorry, I type.
I can't help you. Please stop contacting me.
I let out a long breath and fall back on the couch where I've slept for the past week.
My energy's low, and I need to find a nightmare soon... paying client or not.
There're always the hobos by the docks, if I get really desperate.
I'm frowning at that unpleasant thought, when another message pings.
Reluctantly, I reach for my cell-phone.
Once again, it's from Damien Knight.
I just turned down twenty-five grand but somehow I find these words harder to refuse.
I'm begging you. Please help me.
I stare at the message for ten minutes.
Finally, I type my reply.
Tomorrow 6pm
My finger hovers over the button.
I close my eyes and hit send.

Los Angeles 4K Walking Tour - 4-hour LA Walk with Captions & Immersive Sound [4K/60fps]
Tumblr media
Walking Tour of Los Angeles, California https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VINOSu5y4ic 📍 Beverly Hills - Rodeo Drive: As you begin your tour in Beverly Hills, the luxurious Rodeo Drive greets you. This world-famous shopping street, adorned with high-end boutiques like Gucci, Prada, and Chanel, offers a vibrant atmosphere. Expect to see luxury cars, stylish locals, and maybe even a celebrity or two. - Beverly Gardens Park: Strolling north, you'll come across this picturesque park known for its cactus garden, rose garden, and the iconic Beverly Hills Sign. It's a great spot to relax, take photos, and admire the well-maintained landscape. - The Beverly Hills Trolley Tour: Though this is a walking tour, it might be worth mentioning that for those who want to delve deeper, the trolley tour provides an insightful ride around Beverly Hills with fun anecdotes and history. - Spadena House (The Witch's House): Venturing a bit off the main road, you'll encounter this quirky and unique house which looks straight out of a fairy tale. Its whimsical design has made it a popular location for photos. - Celebrity Homes: As you walk the streets of Beverly Hills, you might catch glimpses of opulent mansions behind high gates. Some of these are homes to Hollywood's A-listers, and while privacy is paramount, the grandeur is evident. - Beverly Wilshire Hotel: This iconic hotel at the intersection of Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Boulevard is famous for its role in movies like "Pretty Woman". Feel the classic Hollywood vibes as you pass by. 🎵 Ambient Sounds: - The soft hum of luxury cars driving by. - Occasional chit-chat of tourists and shoppers. - Birds chirping in the background, especially as you approach Beverly Gardens Park. - The faint sound of classical music or live performances from street musicians or nearby cafes. 🍃 Scent and Feel: - The aroma of fresh flowers from the gardens and boutiques. - A gentle breeze, especially in the early morning or late afternoon. - The subtle scent of expensive perfumes as people pass by. "4K/60fps" refers to a specific video resolution and frame rate: - 4K: This is a high-resolution video format. In the context of TV screens and consumer media, "4K" usually refers to a resolution of 3840 pixels × 2160 pixels. This offers four times as many pixels as a 1080p HD display, which has a resolution of 1920 pixels × 1080 pixels. - 60fps: This stands for "60 frames per second." It denotes the frame rate or the number of individual frames (or images) that are displayed per second in a video. A higher frame rate like 60fps can offer smoother motion, especially beneficial for fast-paced content like sports or action sequences. When combined, "4K/60fps" suggests a video that is both highly detailed (because of the 4K resolution) and smooth (because of the 60 frames per second). This quality is desirable for many applications, including: - Gaming: Modern gaming consoles and gaming PCs aim to achieve 4K/60fps for a visually stunning and fluid gaming experience. - Sports Broadcasting: The smooth motion of 60fps is especially beneficial for capturing the fast movements in sports. - Cinematography & Filmmaking: While many films traditionally use 24fps, some filmmakers might choose 60fps for certain sequences to achieve a hyper-realistic look. - Streaming and YouTube Content: As internet speeds have improved, content creators can now upload and stream in 4K/60fps, ensuring viewers get the best visual experience. To play back 4K/60fps content without stutters or lags, both the playback device (e.g., TV, computer, or gaming console) and the display (e.g., monitor or television) need to support this resolution and frame rate.

Top 7 Headless Horsemen
In my previous list, I talked about my favorite versions of Ichabod Crane - the central protagonist of Washington Irving’s timeless tale of terror, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” Now, it’s time to talk about the spectral antagonist who haunts the Hollow himself: the Headless Horseman. Legends of Headless Horsemen, in general, are actually more common than you might think…but when people think of THE Headless Horseman, it’s always the one from Sleepy Hollow who comes to mind. The Horseman has become an icon of Halloween and classic horror, on par with such creatures as Count Dracula and Frankenstein’s Monster. This is ironic, because in the original story, it’s actually left ambiguous if the dark figure who chases Ichabod down at the climax of the tale is the real Horseman, or just Brom Bones in disguise. Indeed, ambiguity is a big part of what makes the Headless Horseman such an iconic figure, I would venture to say: most takes on the Horseman aren’t really proper “characters” so much as they are monstrous entities, almost a force of nature rather than a developed person, so to speak. Even if their identity or reality is not in question, they, themselves, remain enigmatic, to a degree. Only a few versions really try to expand on the Horseman, with varying degrees of success. For this list, there are two basic rules. One, the character has to be either proven to be the actual Horseman, or the ambiguity of identity has to be kept intact. If they are revealed to be Brom Bone (or anyone else) in disguise, they don’t count. Two, I’m only counting the Horseman of Sleepy Hollow HIMSELF, so characters who are inspired by the Horseman or are completely different Headless Horsemen will not be counted. (So no World of Warcraft or Hecarim’s Horseman Form from League of Legends.) With that said, here are My Top 7 Headless Horsemen!
Tumblr media
7. The Version from “The Hollow.”
This 2004 TV Film is…not very good, to be perfectly honest. In fact, until the Horseman shows up, it’s pretty darn boring, and some things in it don’t honestly make a lot of sense. It’s a pretty standard slasher-type film with a Sleepy Hollow motif, more than anything else: the movie focuses on a teenaged descendant of Ichabod Crane, named Ian, who effectively faces a modern-age, teenaged retelling of the story, as he has a rivalry with a jock named Brody, and a romance with a popular girl named Karen - obvious stand-ins for Brom Bones and Katrina. The Horseman doesn’t appear until the last third or so of the picture, swooping into town, galloping through the streets, lopping off the heads of various extraneous characters. The plot actually reminds me a LOT of an episode of the TV series “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” but the darker tone, in my opinion, helps make this Horseman standout. This version of the character REALLY ups the “monster” factor, turning the ghost into a demonic creature that is more fiend than man, with a moldy, nasty pumpkinhead. The film is pretty “bleh,” for the most part, but once the Horseman trots onto the scene, it becomes something of a guilty pleasure.
Tumblr media
6. The Version from “Charmed.”
The TV series “Charmed” focused on a family of witches, combating demons and unfriendly angels, among other things, in suburban America. It was similar in tone to shows like “Once Upon a Time,” sort of a soap opera crossed with a fantasy/fairy-tale epic. In one episode, “The Legend of Sleepy Halliwell, a young magic user - disgruntled with the world around him - summons the Headless Horseman straight from Sleepy Hollow to take revenge on those he feels have wronged him. Thankfully, the ones the Horseman beheads do NOT die, their disembodied craniums still able to communicate and think, but their bodies unable to do anything. The witches and their allies must work together to return the heads to their owners, and send the Horseman back into the book where he belongs. This was one of the earliest takes on the Horseman I can remember seeing, and it was neat to have this slightly more family-friendly “Whodunnit” with the character that still had a dark and unnerving edge. The result was one of my favorite episodes of the show, and definitely a Horseman worth mentioning.

5. The Hallmark Version.
To be honest, I’m kind of cheating with this one. Mostly because of how the Hallmark version works. Something that’s surprisingly common with adaptations and reimaginings of Sleepy Hollow is they try to play things down the middle with the identity and reality of the Horseman. By which I mean, Ichabod first meets a Horseman that is Brom Bones in disguise, but later the real ghost reveals himself. The Hallmark version does exactly that: the Horseman that chases Ichabod is actually Brom in disguise. Just as Ichabod learns this and is gloating with triumph, the REAL Horseman shows up. While the actual Horseman’s time onscreen is criminally small, I do think this is the best interpretation of that twist I’ve seen in any version. I also like how this one actually reimagines the Horseman as a GOOD character, rather than an evil one. Instead of being an enemy agent who was slain, and a devil-like figure of darkness, this Headless Horseman is a frightening but ultimately non-threatening entity, with his backstory painting him as a hero rather than a villain. It’s all interesting, but it’s not really even close to enough to get the Hallmark Horseman higher than fifth place.
Tumblr media
4. The Rabbit Ears Version.
I didn’t count Rabbit Ears when I talked about Ichabod Crane. The reason is because the Rabbit Ears version is really just a telling of the story with minimal animation to paint the picture (literally). It’s one of my favorite screen versions of Sleepy Hollow, but it’s very different from something like the Disney version or the Tim Burton version (more on both later). While I didn’t think I could count Ichabod from Rabbit Ears, I DO feel counting the Horseman is acceptable. Because this is basically just an animated storytelling presentation, the ambiguity of the Horseman’s identity and reality is kept intact: we don’t know if it’s Brom Bones or the actual phantom. Indeed, I would argue never has that ambiguity been better illustrated (again, literally) than with the Rabbit Ears rendition. Why? Because we never fully SEE the Horseman. In every image featuring him, the Horseman is depicted as a solid silhouette, colored either ghostly white or shadowy black. The only sign of color are the vibrant, fiery hues of his pumpkin head. Because of the way he’s painted, and the fact no features are obviously visible, he becomes an unknowable entity. Everything from the music to his blank appearance makes him a sinister, haunting figure (no joke intended), and in some ways, I think this is much closer to what Irving imagined in his story. We can’t tell how much of the Horseman encounter is real and how much is in Ichabod’s head. Nowhere has that mystery been better portrayed.
Tumblr media
3. The FOX Version.
In contrast to the total shadowy mystery of the previous pick, the FOX version of the Headless Horseman is actually the single most fleshed-out of all on this list. In this serie, not only is it revealed that he is actually one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, but the the twist with Brom Bones is handled in a uniquely different way. In this version, Brom - or “Abraham,” as the series typically refers to him by his full first name - genuinely IS the Horseman. Not in the sense of being in-disguise, either: they are literally the same character. In this version, it’s revealed that Ichabod and Abraham used to be friends. Abraham was engaged to Katrina Van Tassel, and asked Ichabod for help wooing her. Unfortunately, this had the adverse effect of Katrina falling in love with Ichabod, instead, and she eventually broke off her engagement to Brom. Abraham blamed Ichabod for this, and this led to the series of events that would eventually transform him into the Headless Horseman. As much as I loved this version, I also liked that the show didn’t use the Horseman as a crutch, so to speak: even though “Sleepy Hollow” is based on…well…Sleepy Hollow, the Horseman wasn’t treated as a constant villain. Instead, he’s treated more as the harbinger of doom: he doesn’t show up in every episode (unless you count the opening credits sequence), but when he DOES show up, you know bad things are going down in town in a big way. It was neat to see such a developed and yet such a restrained take on the character, but at the same time, that development works slightly against him: the mystery of the Horseman is a temporary thing in this show. But he still remains intriguingly dangerous, from start to finish, and was one of my favorite parts of the show.
Tumblr media
2. The Tim Burton Version.
Perhaps the single most influential and popular version of the Headless Horseman. The Tim Burton depiction, in my opinion, hits a nice middle ground between the development of the later FOX series, and the more mysterious ambiguity of most other renditions. More of the Horseman’s background is given in this one than any earlier rendition, and we actually get to see him in action before he lost his head, courtesy of an extended flashback sequence that reveals the ghost’s dark origins. However, there are still mysteries surrounding the character, and for most of the story he is once again treated as an unstoppable, monstrous force more than anything else. In the flashbacks, the Horseman is played by - of all people - Christopher Walken. However, for most of the film, the character is played by Ray Park; the actor and stunt artist most well-known for playing Darth Maul from “Star Wars” and Toad from the first “X-Men” movie. Both actors do great with the character in their respective areas, and the Burton version is probably the one most people think of when they think of the Headless Horseman as a character. More artwork and more future renditions of the ghastly rider seem to be based on this one than any other. Yet there’s still one Horseman I like more…
Tumblr media
1. The Disney Version.
When I think of the Headless Horseman, it’s the Disney version that I think of first and foremost. In my opinion, this one hits the nail on the head, expanding on what was found in Irving’s original tale brilliantly, and creating one of the most frightening creatures ever put to animation. Disney’s Headless Horseman, once again, plays things slightly down the middle, in a lot of ways: just like Rabbit Ears, the Horseman is wreathed in shadow, his horse and his own body totally immersed in blackness. The only signs of color are the red eyes of his steed, and the vibrant violet cape he wears. And while the Disney version does indicate this Horseman might be real, there’s still an element of uncertainty as to whether this is true or not. While this Horseman’s exact identity is unclear, we do get a bit of background on him thanks to the song Brom sings about his legend. Also, while he never speaks, he does laugh. A LOT. It is one of the coolest, most epic evil laughs in history, and it lends a bit more personality to this grim phantasm than some other renditions have. In short, it does everything later renditions would do, and thus perfects everything that could be perfected. In my opinion, this is the definitive version of the galloping Hessian, and without a doubt My Favorite Headless Horseman.

You mentioned you have a video of anouk- does that mean you can give a review of her? I love her voice but would like to hear some insight into her portrayal
You know what? Fine. FINE. I will review her. I will review everybody! I will review all the new cast members I haven't seen yet! Anouk van Laake? Sure, I'll review her right now. All you people who sent me asks to review Emilie Kouatchou? Send them again! Beatrice Penny-Toure? Guess what, I have audio of her, I'll review her too! Jemal Felix? Ashley Stillburn? Them too! James Gant? I was hoping for a video of him but no, I'll review him too! Kanisha Marie Feliciano? I will travel forward in time to get bootlegs of her!
Oh, and the person who asked me for my opinion on Rhys Whitfield a little while ago? You get your wish too! I'll review him right here!
All right, so let's get the first bit out of the way: yes, her voice is great. Classical, light, strong and pure on the high notes. 'Think of Me' was lovely, with Anouk van Laake displaying a lot of this joy of singing; she was almost Gina Beck-like in her enthusiasm.
That said, it's also clear that this was her "performance Christine", in 'Angel of Music', she's much more haunted, a head-in-the-clouds, reserved sort of girl. The only exception to that, other than when singing, is when the very next song, 'Little Lotte', came on. There's no other way for me to describe her with Rhys Whitfield other than the words "instant chemistry". I think this is because his Raoul has has "awkward dork" energy and she has "odd girl" vibes, so they matched very well. She basically thew herself into his hug so hard she spun herself to the other side of the room, and they seemed to share a similar nostalgia for childhood days and fairy tale stories.
And this is important, because when we get to the First Lair scenes, it's kind of obvious that her Christine acts more like a student scared of displeasing her teacher (and relieved when she hasn't) than one interested in a romantic relationship. Throughout 'Music of the Night', she was pretty aloof to the Phantom. Like, it took until the end of the song for her to even crack a smile. And this wasn't something on Killian Donnelly's end, because I know I like to blame him for everything, he had much better energy here than in previous videos. I also thought she didn't seem too scared of him in 'Stranger Than You Dreamt It', more wary than anything, possibly because she was reserved towards him to begin with, though she did do a big gasp when he revealed his face.
This really got noticeable during the Rooftop Scene. I thought Anouk van Laake started a bit weak here - again, she's not too good at showing that she's scared with her face, though she did emote a lot with her voice (and had a very pretty "soar"). Rhys Whitfield, on the other hand, was great and kind of made up for her initial weakness. He had this way of pausing between lines in 'All I Ask of You' that made think, "Oh no, he's making this up as he goes along", it was great and totally matched his overall vibe of "I know about socializing in theory but I have never actually engaged in it until now."
Anyway, there was so much hesitant hand-holding on his end, and he had a really funny moment where he was clearly trying to take Christine's hand again, but she moved away and he just stood there, looking extremely confused and slightly put out. He also had a wonderful point where he looked like he was building himself up to say his lines. And once Anouk van Laake got into the song, it was wonderful, because she was clearly more sure of herself and playing the flirt a bit, which just further confused him and delighted her. And there was so much giggling, one of them possibly because Rhys Whitfield slightly messed up his line ("Then share you'll share with me"). By the end they were totally in love, and the capper was Raoul doing this little eyebrow waggle like, "Yeah, I finally got a handle on this romance thing."
All right, moving on... 'Notes II' - Anouk van Laake was kind of fast here and in 'Twisted Every Way', but was helped along by Rhys looking totally panicked about her panicking. On another note, Piangi had a funny moment where he looked quite happy to be name-dropped in the Phantom's letter, right up until the Phantom insulted him. Saori Oda also had some nice moments, like where she clutched her throat when the Phantom's letter was being read, and when she nodded approvingly when Christine said she wouldn't perform. Anouk van Laake did have a very strong 'Wishing': great vocals and a lovely transition from sad, to downright tormented, then finishing with a lot of determination at the end.
Nearing the end... so 'Point of No Return' was honestly not that memorable, save for the beginning where Christine had a lot of apple rubbing. The most notable thing was that this was the scene where I realized that Anouk van Laake's chemistry with the Phantom, while not lacking, was nowhere near the level of chemistry she had with Raoul. (I suppose this should have been obvious in retrospect, given that I spent 2 paragraphs waxing rhapsodic about AIAOY and just 1 paragraph on the entirety of the first lair.) It's not necessarily bad (though I was amused by her almost complete lack of reaction to unmasking him), but there are points where bits became a bit unbelievable.
This became most apparent in 'Final Lair', where her Christine spent the entirely of it vaulting between being frustrated with the Phantom and being downright pissed with him. Her "Please Raoul it's useless!" was almost shouted, with the tone of, "Don't even bother, Raoul, he's not going to change his mind." She spat out "false friend" at one point as well. It was great and I have no problem with this interpretation, but at the end she did seem to do a complete 180 and looked like she was having trouble leaving the Phantom, and looking kind of sad at the ring return, which... I mean, was the Phantom's kiss that great? It didn't seem like it; I thought she looked far happier kissing Raoul.
(Slightly off-topic, but I had a similar moment during her 'Twisted Every Way', where, after Christine goes, "Can I betray the man who once inspired my voice?", I thought to myself, "No, I'm pretty sure you can, given your attitude towards the Phantom." I remember also an interview where Anouk van Laake said she had initially wanted to cry during the ring returning scene, but was directed not to. Looking over her performance here, I find it hilarious that she wanted to do that, because she sure seemed happy with Raoul.)
Some final thoughts: Killian had some good points here and there, he's definitely improved a notch since the last bootleg I saw of him. And Rhys Whitfield was good with the little he had: at the portcullis he was obviously checking on Christine between yelling at the Phantom, and he's very good at looking like he's choking.
So overall:
Anouk van Laake - Pretty good Christine, shines most on the vocals IMO. Kind of a reserved, haunted portrayal interspersed with moments of childish glee and joyfulness. A bit weak in certain scenes and when it comes to portraying fear. Definitely an R/C girl, chemistry with the Phantom lacking in comparison. I think Lucy St Louis and Holly-Anne Hull have the stronger overall performances, but Anouk van Laake is not bad at all, and with time and some more performances, she'll probably be excellent.
Rhys Whitfield - Lovable, socially awkward Raoul; I get the feeling he's never had a conversation that went beyond conventional social chit-chat in his life. Totally in love with Christine but is also totally clueless at showing it; he's winging most of AIAOY and it's only sheer luck, and this Christine's penchant for dorky men who don't know what they're doing, that he succeeds. So fun to watch (and also big improvement over my impression of him in the UK tour, where he came off very boring, so hooray!).
All right, now have at me with everyone else you want me to review.

Mr. Brightside
As the bus rolls away from the station and his excitement grow. Syverson is free, on extended leave and on his way back to you. His head is filled with your promises, that you would be there, that you had waited.
As the bus makes its way slowly through the night, he can’t stop thinking about the future he has planned with you. He carries the proof of his commitment in his pocket, his promise to you, his thanks for waiting.
He remembers how it all started, your first kiss. The way your pretty, shining eyes looked up at him, your wide-eyed look as he stepped in close to you and he reached his arm around your waist, pressing your body flush with his. He remembers the way you lowered your eyes, shy and unsure. He had lifted your chin and your eyes were different, heated and passionate. Your hand went to his chest, placing it over his heart, he still cherishes the memory of the heat from your touch. He brushed your lips with his, softly because you were his dream, the one he had wanted for so long, and he couldn’t believe you wanted him back.
The darkness outside is deep and foreboding, he no longer can make out scenery as the world wizzes by. There is nothing out there, he thinks, only loneliness, isolation, disappointment.
Sy shakes his head, he doesn’t know what he was thinking. It was just a kiss. It didn’t mean the same to you as it had for him. For you, he was another in a long line of men seeking your attention, you were too good for him. Someone better would come along and snap you up, he was sure of it.
He feels tired, his keep eyes sliding shut, dozing a second before jerking open again. His thoughts wander as his mind is stuck in the twilight between dreams and reality.
He sees you, dressed up, pretty with your hair done. You’re ordering an Uber and going out with your friends. He remembers what you’re like on those nights, carefree, drinking and friendly. You’re hit on all the time, sometimes you don’t even realise that’s what’s happening. But sometimes you do. Sometimes you want it too.
Sy falls further into darkness and though he doesn’t want to, he can’t seem to get out. He sees a man, handsome and confident, but with a dangerous aura that underlies his sophistication. He’s much more your type, not rough around the edges and uncultured like himself. Sy imagines he would listen to classical music, jazz or something classy, much more your style than the noisy, thrashing rawness of his metal. He man lights a cigarette, and for some reason you lean in and take it in your mouth. You don’t smoke, do you? He’s never seen you smoke before.
Seeing the two of you together, he realises you’re too comfortable together, you had been intimate before. He sees you lift your hand to his chest, gently caressing him over his shirt. Sy watches as you and the man go to your bedroom, and through the open door he sees the man lift your dress over your head.
Sy feels sick, he wants to vomit. He can’t look, but he can’t look away. The scene plays on and on. His jealousy traps him, he is frozen, it has taken control of his mind and won’t let go.
“Let me go, Sy,” you say. Sy doesn’t move, he stays standing there, transfixed by the scene before him.
You were his angel, his promised fairy tale ending, and now that you were with another man, your body writhing under his touch, you become a whore. You were no longer a saint, you were a sinner. No longer his lover, his happiness, you were his enemy, his depression.
You had whispered words of love the night you first kissed, promises of a future that was being destroyed before his eyes. Jealousy turned to anger and Sy knew it was the price he paid as a soldier when he chose his duty over love again and again. He almost gave it up for you, but he was thankful he knew who you really were now. He would forget you, embrace his destiny, he was a soldier, a killer, a warrior. He wasn’t a lover, a husband or father.
You had opened his eyes to how incredibly stupid Sy was to think he could ever be more than what he was. You had made him feel like there was more to life than war and destruction, you had made him feel like he was missing out. But not now, now he realised that you were wrong, he didn’t need any of that domestic life, he didn’t need you, he didn’t need love. At least your betrayal had a bright side.
A jolt wakes Sy and he is surprised to see daylight. The bus had stopped moving. He had reached his destination. Slinging his bag over his shoulder, he waited until most of the passengers had left the bus before disembarking. He wasn’t in a hurry.
He pulled his sunglasses down over his eyes as he exited the bus. He walked with purpose to the cabs waiting outside the terminal. He thought he heard his name, but dismissed it. No one would be waiting for him. A hand tapped his shoulder, he turned ready to attack, he wasn’t used to not taking everything as a threat.
But it was you. You were there, you had come to pick him up. You had waited. Sy was stunned, everything he had seen was all in his head. His fears had consumed him, made him doubt you.
He had never truly believed you loved him, that you would wait for him. He was too damaged, too broken. He tries to tell you he was wrong, that he loves you. But his head is too messed up to believe he deserves anything good.
“I never…” Sy started to say.
You saw the pain in his eyes, you saw his need. You stopped his words, his doubts, his pain with a kiss.
