it’s actually no surprise that how many angels who actually care for Cas seem to hate Dean and Sam.
because from their pov sam and dean are the bad influence that got their indomitable leader of the garrison Castiel to stray from his path and become this sidekick to two humans
everything Cas gets out of this transaction, this family of his, love, friendship, companionship, feelings, hopes and dreams are things that are alien to the angels
samamdriel said it best, ‘too much heart was always Cas’ problem’ but he said it like it was a bad thing
but for Cas it’s the reason for his existence since he found his family and that’s why he’s the perfect blend of humanity and angelic existence. he’s the middle ground that never was before 🥺

hey in ur peri animatic: (https://youtu.be/OCqlRuDaXYU?si=K52WDu_vw9rg7chz) that I have been permanently obsessed over since today and have watched about 20 times by now so much that I have drawn & posted stuff based on it what was that partial bug form peri had?
Tumblr media
I haven’t watched either of the show btw so if it’s explained in the show please tell me plsssss
OK, SO the bug thing is not technically canon to the series. It's based on my own headcanons for fairy biology, but i do have justifications for it!! Fairies have very strong shape-shifting abilities, so it would make sense that the form they show to humans isn't necessarily their true form(not to mention extreme that mimicry is very common in insects). And you want to know the visible traits almost every fairy has in common? Being very small with Insect-like wings.
The fact that their humanoid form isn't their true form in actually confirmed in the show! Cosmo and Wanda are revealed to look like biblically accurate pseudo-angels in the museum episode. (I say pseudo angels because the Flaming Sword of Eden is only debatably sentient and I don't think is considered an angel. Ophanim are also debatably not angels because they don't have wings (sorry for the angel tangent I like angels))
Tumblr media
So wouldn't their true forms be angelic then? Well, yes. But I like bugs so. Also I have more headcanons to justify myself. I like to think that they have both a true-true form (incomprehensible to the human brain, probably exists mostly in a dimension invisible to us, that looks how we imagine biblically accurate angels), and a fairy form (which is visible to humans but is naturally very insect like and tends to scare people). So, in order to interact with humans, they have to learn to shapeshift into a humanoid form but will occasionally slip if they get too relaxed/aren't careful, hence the mandibles coming out when he yawns!
The reason they struggle so much more with human forms than the animals or objects they typically turn into is that, well, they aren't trying to convince those animals or objects. The more human they try to look, the harder it is to keep up convincingly. If you turn into a really uncanny squirrel, only other squirrels will notice. If you turn into a really uncanny human, they form a lynch mob and burn you at the stake.

SUPTOBER DAY 01 - liminal in the beginning
4 And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself, and a brightness was about it, and out of the midst thereof as the colour of amber, out of the midst of the fire.
5 Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance;

hear me out. season 3. aziraphale is new supreme archangel. sure he can use his new authority to spy on his poor wet cat of a boyfriend as im sure will become a popular trope in fic. but. he can also use these powers to unlock all those Top Secret files heaven has laying around. and also find out exactly why crowley fell and realize it sucks so bad and is so so unfair because he's done sooo much worse than just ask the wrong questions truly so many times in the last 6000 years and despite this they. put him. in charge. and he realizes that maybe heaven doesn't actually know or care what's "good" or "bad"? and then accidentally blows heaven up from the inside out in a way that only aziraphale can in an effort to get back to earth the end. <3

Been thinking about Good Omens and it occurs to me that we, the audience, have a very different view of Aziraphale and Crowley than most of the people they know. We know theyre incompetent as shit and invented quiet quitting before it was cool, but their coworkers?
Crowley took credit for the Spanish Inquisition and WWII. He was kicking around in Paris during the French Revolution, so he probably got credit for that too. As far as Hell knows, he killed Job's goats and kids with great relish. He tempted Jesus. He has an angelic nemesis (how many demons can say that, hmm?). He dropped a bomb on a church. He made a freeway that's a giant sigil of evil. Satan calls him up personally to tell him he's doing a great job. He gets to raise the anti-christ. He regularly rolls his eyes at Dukes of Hell.
And, as his nemesis, Aziraphale's rep in Heaven has got to be just as good, he's just got too much social anxiety to notice. He's the only thing stopping the super evil, super competent Crowley from completely taking over. He served as a knight of the Round Table. He double-crossed Nazi spies. He hid in plain sight alongside a solider of Hell to try to prevent Armageddon (they didn't want him to succeed but the attempt was so brave, and such great PR!). The Supreme Archangel Gabriel regularly checks in on him, just to keep him in the loop (I always get the impression pre-Armageddon Gabriel thinks he and Aziraphale are buddies).
The suspicion they might not be on the up-and-up didn't really start until Michael went through the files, mere hours before they stopped the apocalypse. Imagine clocking into work for what's supposed to be The biggest thing that'll ever happen, but it gets canceled and then you're told it's because the guy who holds the record for most times named Employee of the Month has been selling company secrets and falsifying records. He's lied about literally everything he's ever done. You'd go insane.

Just out of casual curiosity, how easy do you think it is to get a S-Rank in Ptn? (I have a feeling I got really lucky..)
- newcomer
when i was going to write my reply, i thought ptn's s-rank base drop rate was still 1.6% as it was prior, if my memory serves correctly. but then i opened the game to check, it's actually 2% now, which is genuinely fucking insane? comparatively, every hoyo game has a base probability of 0.6% for a 5-star. ptn's base drop rate is around 3 times greater than hoyo's, with a fucking massive 1.4% difference between them. that's actually crazy for a gacha game. other gacha base probabilities are also comparatively low; 0.5% for pgr, 0.8% for wuwa, and 1% for fgo. the only other gacha that i know of with a similar base probability is arknights, which also has a 2% base probability.
so if we look comparatively, it does 'feel' easier to pull s-ranks in ptn compared to other gachas, which is due to the higher base probability. the more you know, huh

since i know you like your alien worldbuilding and i’m not really sure if you’ve answered an ask related to this yet, at least for tfp, i’d just be really interested in hearing some of your ideas (if you have any) on what cybertronian beauty standards are, and how most of the main cast would be seen in regards to those standards. do they even have an understandable concept of beauty? i mean obviously shiny paint and buffed finishes would probably be the norm, and different branches of the transformers race would definitely value certain traits over others (velocitron comes to mind) but what other features do you think would be cybertronian society’s general ideals?
Heck yeah, worldbuilding time. Lets gooooooo-
━━━━━━ ⊙ ❖ ⊙ ━━━━━━━━━━━━ ⊙ ❖ ⊙
Cybertronian Beauty Standards
There are a few universals when it comes to beauty standards across Cybertron. Namely well done paint, buffed plating, and unbroken armor. However across regions and castes, there are a few preferences that are rather prevalent.
Amidst high castes, the favored form is flamboyancy and keeping up the latest trends. If one wishes to keep up to standard, they will be required to constantly change their frame, usually in irreversible ways in order to ensure they are up to snuff. The trends always change, so it is near impossible to pinpoint what is seen as beautiful at any given moment amongst the high caste, but a few constants are brighter colors, accessories in abundance, and expressive optics. Its all a way to show off authority and wealth.
Middle caste mecha tend to be more reserved, and as a general rule, a more composed and sophisticated look is the most attractive. A firm frame without any serious kibble, hardy and built to last but still with enough unique accessories to stand out. Duller versions of their high caste counterparts paint selections are often the preferred choice, but often brighter colors are still appreciated most. For the middle caste its all about showing off one's ability to take care of themselves while still standing out in a way that is not obnoxious.
Low caste mecha look for survivability in those around them to determine beauty. A sturdy frame with no serious signs of deterioration, an appealing collection of scars to tell of battles won, and bright but often cold colors are preferred. Shining silver and multiple layers of armor are seen as most beautiful due to the story such things tell. A mech who can withstand everything and still manage to buff out their plating is one who is well regarded amongst the low castes.
Across different city states, these standards largely remained the same but were adapted to the preferences of each area. In the case of Iacon and its similarly wealthy sister cities, all mecha regardless of caste were expected to maintain their frame. Bright colors, slim waists with bulky shoulders and chevrons were seen as the most appealing. Thick pedes were also seen as an expression of grace when combined with thin legs and the overall bulk of the upper body. Additional kibble was not seen as particularly appealing and often a more minimalist appearance was most well regarded since it showed a mech could go without any notable modifications. If one had modifications, they were to be hidden if the mech in question wanted to keep up appearances. Any sort of markings to the frame were looked down upon, especially scarring. Clean plating without blemish was always seen as far superior to any sort of marking in wealthy cities. With that in mind, face preference tended to lean more toward those with polished and flat faces with their most interesting feature being their optics.
Less wealthy but more productive cities like Polyhex and Vos had a whole different set of preferences. Extra kibble was seen as appealing with a particular preference toward doorwings and wings in general. To have such a sensitive piece of additional kibble was put on a pedestal as it spoke of increadible self control to not be hitting everything and everyone or responding to stimuli poorly. Visors were held in high regard partially for the protective factor they offered, but largely due to how they obscured the face, a trait that was in high demand due to the various careers seen in the more bustling cities. Identity was everything, so having a frame with a slim midsection but with kibble almost everywhere else was seen as quite beautiful. Markings were tolerated and even seen as appealing to a degree so long as they were either artistically placed, or in the case of scarring, very minimal. The preference for facial structure was not really present as most instead preferred to focus on their visors as their most notable frame addition.
In poorer cities with a higher concentration of low caste mecha, such as Kaon and Helex, preferences differed yet again. Thick armor, heavily armed, and larger frames were seen as superior in every regard. The larger and sturdier a mech was, the better. A degree of curvage was seen as appealing, but largely the beauty was found in armor structure and useful kibble. Mecha in poorer cities resented any sort of ridiculous flamboyancy and much preferred quieter methods of showing off their grace. Polished but scarred armor was a mark of wisdom and prowess. Cooler colors showed an ability to go into battle without regard for faction or affiliation. Open weaponry showed bravery and honor since they quite clearly knew when and when not to fight. Usefulness was the most appealing, along with more aggressive plating structure. Unlike other cities, smooth and simple plating was not the most beautiful and instead most mecha agreed that spikes or at least extra boxy armor was better. With that in mind, sharper faces were also in higher demand.
Excluding cities, beauty standards fell into an interesting gray area that depended entirely on region. In small settlements, everything depending on environment. Those that lived near the sea were fond of the bulkier mecha since they could withstand the storms. They cared for them even more if their colors were various shades or orange and rust. Mecha from the spire forests were far fonder of tall and spindly frames, those with dark colors of the earth capable of rushing between obstacles without regard for the difficulties of a larger body. Those from the open plains and wastes fancied those more capable of speed so that they could get from point A to B without need for days of travel. Everything depended on region when not in the cities.
While there were outliers and small subcultures with different preferences, this is the overview.

For the exchange program plot to make sense, the devs have to make the Celestial Realm not look "that bad". Still, not a fan of how since Nightbringer began, the brothers are becoming so apologetic of the CR. Especially Beel/Belphie. Dude, they killed your sister.
Idk, It Will never soy Right with me. That barely anyone acknowledges the war or Lilith anymore

Archangel Castiel, the seventh heirarch!
Originally I planned for archangels to be a variant of actual angels, but I've changed the lore so that archangel is an inherited position only one has while six other angels inherit higher positions (principality, throne, etc). As Archangel, Cassie is the lowest of the bunch, but being an archangel still gives him a cool new form for official council business. He doesn't turn into it that much though

Gabriel and Beelzebub being together after 4 years of constant secret interaction, and possibly thousands of years of under-the-table heaven and hell agreements, being able to run away together unscathed as the top dogs of Heaven and Hell, but Aziraphale and Crowley having feared for their lives for even interacting at all for like 4,500 years thus giving them thousands of years of denials and excuses and buryings and dancing away froms which they can't exactly unlearn in a snap like can you see my pain can you see theirs.
