@awanderingbountyhunter …𝒊𝒔 𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒓!
{The bell to the gun-shop wrung loudly throughout the dingy little store, despite its size and appearance, this was his livelihood- at least what he’d left of it - and his home. At the sound of the bell, Augustin placed a marker over where he paused his reading to continue at a later time. Augustin lifted his head from his book and was met with… quite the puzzling sight. She looked like no ordinary person he’d seen around these parts - this woman almost seemed to be like that of a bounty hunter from the comic books he read as a child, though significantly less embellished.}
“Are you looking to kill or defend yourself, ma’am?” {He asked, his thick Haitian accent coming front and center as he spoke, preferring to get straight to business. He wasn’t the sort of man to dilly-dally and chat, he wasn’t here to make friends - he’ll, even if he did want to, a part of him doubted anyone would want to be with him.}
{He watched as she eyed the guns displayed on the racks, he had just about anything and everything someone could want - save for the fantasy weaponry, of course.} “I have blades as well, should guns not be to your preferences..” {He suggested, already thinking of the katana he’d found and polished himself a few weeks back.}

Deep Roots: A Love Note to the Lowly Carrot
A dish of carrot hastily cooked may still have soil uncleaned off the vegetable. ~~ Chinese Proverb Except for the feathery grey braids poking out from under the rebozo, she looked like a child washing dishes. But she wasn’t a child and she wasn’t washing dishes. Rinsing the large carrot— one about the size of a zucchini zonked on steroids at the end of a scorching mid-western summer — in her…

“Okay, okay.” August huffs, taking his sweet time anyway just to piss the other off. “Fucking—you don’t have to rush me. Jeez. Do you want to hang out with me that bad, Séb? Did all your other dumb friends finally ditch your ass or something?” Deep in his hoodie’s pockets, his thumb draws circles over his phone’s case as he considers inviting Venus or someone else along to whatever adventure Sébastien has in store for the two of them, just so he doesn’t suffer all by himself. He decides against it. At least for now. “I do hate everything,” August concedes, “but I sincerely doubt that there’s anyone who enjoys getting kidnapped. Kinda why it’s illegal.” Honestly, he would have gone out either way, found his way to some party or another. There were always invites and August didn’t like allowing his brain to run free, always on the hunt for something to keep it quiet. Hell, he would have probably invited Séb along, as well, but he clearly has a reputation to maintain so he makes sure the scowl stays put on his face as he gets in the car. “Where are we off to then, captain? Or am I not allowed to ask?”
🎁 (wrapped meme) - from august (@gccdwitch) Too Slow - Maude Latour
“Get in the fucking car! We’re going out!” Was Ches going to be pissed when she found out Séb was not only off doing hijinks, but was dragging August down with him? Probably because as much as he loved his cousin, she was an absolute killjoy when it came to work but it wasn’t like she’d know as long he got August back in time to finish up whatever song he was writing today, right? “And before you say no because you hate it, you hate everything. It’ll be fun.”

About a week later- agustin could see the red-haired woman entering the shop again- looking slightly more beat up. Her lips slightly cut. "... hey."
{Augustine’s eyes widened in both shock and surprise, the state she was in.. something had to have happened to her. He moved from behind the counter of his store and carefully approached her.}
“Shit- you okay, miss? What the hell happened to you?”
{Immediately his eyes scanned her body for other signs of injuries, the last thing he wanted was for her to pass out unconscious on his store’s floor or for her to bleed out.} “Who’d you manage to piss off?”
