Santiago moves the fork. Then he moves it again. You smile, looking at him over the table — a home-cooked meal. A meal prepared by him. You can tell he’s nervous, he’s fidgeting like crazy as you try his Pisto. You smile at him, stretching your legs out until they meet his. You hook your foot around his heel before continuing. You catch the sigh that leaves him. You laugh softly, covering your lips with the back of your hand. He frowns.

“What?”

“Did you think of opening up the windows when you burnt this the first time round?” Because honestly, this meal isn’t burnt, but you can smell it in the air. You cock a brow as he frowns, a deep furrow on his forehead as he lowers his head.

“I..” Santiago looks at you. “It’s difficult.”

“I know, cooking’s a pain.” You sigh dramatically. “I’m just happy to see you put so much effort into our anniversary.”

“Sorry, it’s not a restaurant.” He stabs at his food. You sigh, this time in contempt.

“You think I’d prefer some stuffy room with other people? Home cooked meals are the best. Especially from you.” You wiggle your foot, trying to get his attention. “I like it when you try.”

“You’re acting like I don’t put effort into anything.” He spoons food into his mouth. You don’t reply, just raise a brow. His nose twitches. You giggle as you continue.

“I’m surprised you got Flavio out the house.”

“That brat was here this morning.” You laugh at that.

“I bet he was. Ever the helicopter.” You wave around your fork before continuing with your food. “But you have the love the guy.” He huffs at you. “Come on, if it weren’t for his extreme extroverted ways, we’d never have met.”

“Only time I’m grateful.” Santiago comments.

“Sure.” You roll your eyes. “But he’s the reason we’re together.”

“He’s not.”

“We met through him.”

“I asked you out.”

“True, but you wouldn’t have been able to do that without Flavio.” Santiago clicks his tongue.

“Stop talking about him.” 

“Would do you want to talk about then?” You leer forward, leaning on your elbow and cupping your chin. You grin at him. “Santi, it’s our anniversary, we talk about everything and anything.”

“Anything and everything.” 

“Anything and everything.” You repeat back. He goes back to eating, and you shake your head. Santiago wasn’t about romance, so a home cooked meal warms your heart. And he’s chatting, which means it’s a good day for him. You enjoy the time spent with him, even when he isn’t being romantic.

Ahurei (Unique Ability): Aquatic dancer; Antonio can manipulate any spilled liquid up to 20 ft away as he plays upon his guitar the spill with take form of a small figure and dance until he either stops playing or touches a form of cloth or paper towel. He’s only able to actually produce the figure once a day for a duration of forty minutes.

Appearance: 

Antonio stands at 5’9” in height with a slightly toned body though he isn’t overly muscular. With deep green eyes and olive skin that greatly ranges between light and slightly darker depending on the amount of sun exposure he has gotten.Sprinkled across his face are freckles that seem to rest upon his cheekbones and nose.Though they are usually hidden either by his dark rimmed frames he wears upon his face.

He has loose dark brown curls that no matter how much upkeep that goes into styling his hair it always has that fresh out of bed look and feel to it. Though it is slightly more manageable when cut extremely short, a style disliked by the spaniard greatly.When it comes to his wardrobe he’s  relatively more comfortable with jeans and t shirt, however depending on the setting he’s in he’ll dress accordingly.

Headcanons:

He’s more into forms of waterbending/working with liquid materials

Antonio tends to talk with his hands most of the time, when the spaniard gets excited he’s often seen pulling at the collar of his t shirt.

For the first eight years of his life he struggled highly with his weight(at times still does), most likely due to his abuela (grandmother) spoiling the young boy with his favorite food and sugary treats. Nowadays, he still indulges in sweets but more so now in fruits. He always has a basket of oranges in his room.

Once he gets excited about a topic good luck trying to get him to shut up. His friends and family in Spain call him ‘Perico’/ Parrot.

He can play at least seven musical instrument but is commonly seen with a guitar.

He loves animals of all kinds he could have his way he’s probably house more than he’d be allowed to legally.

He must be in constant motion at least throughout the day if not he’ll be become highly sluggish and lazy. Though he does have designated times he does takes naps.

Personality: 

Antonio can come off as a rather outgoing,cheerful and a warm hearted young man. He takes pleasure in bringing smiles to those around him, he would rather focus on the happiness and well being of other than himself. Despite having the tendency of appearing a bit oblivious and slightly airheaded don’t let this fool you he’s actually quite smarter than he allows everyone to believe. However being the overly cheerful guy has gotten him in trouble more than one occasion though he does mean well, some just find him to be a be annoying to be a word to his behavior.

He does have a bit of impulsive side to him a side that usually appears when the spaniard finds himself under great amounts of stress. He’ll become very panicky and easily comes to conclusions and makes haste decisions during these episodes. These tendencies can also be sparked dependent on the amount of fun he could be having with friends.

He can be another person in private. He’s someone that isn’t always sunshine and smiles, he can be rather dark and mysterious. This ‘switch’ can be draining and downright exhausting at times. As with his talents he does have various sides of his personality some that he doesn’t mind showing off and others that he would rather lock in a vault and throw it into the deepest of part of the ocean. This side is a side is rarely seen by others.

Antonio was born in Toledo, Spain on the 12th of February even though he was a planned child his sudden arrival was something that took his parents by surprise. They joked that he was ready for the world whether the world was ready for him or not. Which was true for his parents whom had procrastinated in even building the crib for their son. Much like his birth he would grow up to be filled with lots of surprises.

When the Spaniard reached the age of seven years old that’s when he began to notice something that he couldn’t really understand. This energy that was coursing through his veins was more than than just a sugar high he had when he visited his grandmother’s home in Madrid.  It would be with her where he would learn of his family’s magical abilities. Both his mother and father revealed their talents to their son. Clearly impressed by their displays he couldn’t wait until to see what gift he would be blessed with.

While most children were being sent away to sport camps or travelled during the summer he spent his days with his grandmother learning magic. So by the time he reached the age of fourteen his destined powers were to be that of water, even though he expected his to be fire like his father and his brother he ended up with aquatic abilities much like his mother and grandmother. He has very much learned to accept them and is hoping to unlock his true potential magically.

During the days when he wasn’t forced to have a his nose in book he was on stage performing he couldn’t help much he loved getting into character being able to become another person just for as short time. Even though as a child he grew up in a musical family learning instruments and singing songs he just wasn’t confident with his voice until he was caught singing the song of a fellow cast member, the theatre instructor was just a tad upset that Antonio hadn’t audition for the role to begin with. That he shouldn’t allow his fear to consume him.

After graduating high school Antonio was faced with a number of decisions, one was attend a college that would prepare him career like a normal person or attend a college in another country where he would able to hone his magical abilities. So he chose to attend Te Wānanga Ruānuku all the way in New Zealand. He’s currently in his third year of study despite enjoying his time there he’s very homesick.

Antonio pressed the home bottom upon his phone, gazing at the time until the digit changed. He continued to lie in the position he was pulling the covers up just slightly to cover the exposed skin of his shoulders. He had another half hour before his alarm was due to go off he wasn’t sure if he should attempt to collect the last bit of sleep he could or spend the time in the shower. Even though the warmth of the shower was appealing it just didn’t beat the comfort and warmth of his bed.

It seemed just as he had finally settled in again his alarm was reminding him that he really needed to get out of bed to start his day.He met the ground with a bit of thud when attempted to climb out of bed his foot having gotten stuck with in the sheets. Despite having finished his morning routine he still would find himself rushing out of the door with his shoes not even full upon his feet.

“Oh no, not again. Why do I do this to myself? I knew I should’ve gotten up sooner.” Just as he locked the door to his room he could hear the howl of his dog through the door. “Ay, lo siento little buddy please go back to sleep. I’ll be back” He spoke as he walked away from the door.
