Raoul Silva/Tiago Rodriguez Headcanons

In honor of headcanons day, here are some about arguably my second-favorite villain.

He's Portuguese by way of Macau rather than being European. As a result, he speaks Cantonese, Mandarin, Portuguese, English, and Macanese with equal fluency.

He's got multiple sisters, none of whom know he's alive as of Skyfall.

He considers Tiago Rodriguez to be his name. Silva is an alias at best that comes from two of his middle names combined.

He was framed by General Chang when the Chinese stealth technology went missing in early 1997. The timeline lines up exactly with the events of Tomorrow Never Dies.

He's on some fairly serious pain medication more or less constantly and has some leftover health issues from being tortured for five months beyond the obvious damage to his face

His hair is that color naturally.

He was 008 during his time with MI6 - the one that M mentions calling in from Hong Kong during Living Daylights who "follows orders, not instincts".

He absolutely can't drive to save his life nor should he with the said pain meds on board.

His only pet is a small black rabbit.

He's got a playlist for just about everything (yes, including vengeance)

Like M, he's got terrible aim. He prefers explosions.

Alec Trevelyan Headcanons

And of course, I can't do a post about my second-favorite villain without doing another about literally my favorite villain/character in the entire series!

Loves driving but frequently gets relegated to the passenger seat if Bond is present

He's the sort who has names for guns he likes

Comes from a working-class background but hides it now that he's a double-0. That crisp accent is hard-won and slips sometimes.

Alec didn't defect. Instead, he woke up after the explosion and was subjected to torture for months using a combination of physical pain mixed with the kind of drugs they use to cause amnesia during surgery. They'd hurt him, force him to repeat what they told him, and then make sure he didn't remember any of the actual events consciously. They'd then wake him up, "explain" things to him, and let him assume the pain and anger and fear he felt was the result of betrayal. He might never fully remember any of this.

He's allergic to mushrooms and certain other fungi.

He's always been fond of a good explosion.

Reports of his death have been greatly exaggerated. In fact, they're outright lies, because Bond could no more drop him off a satellite than he could voluntarily take a vow of celibacy. Instead Alec spent several years getting un-brainwashed.

He and Bond have a dog named Spring. She's a Staffordshire terrier and they name her Spring because she's bouncing up and down out of boredom when they find her.

On mission, he's all charm and elegance. Off-mission he's a cheesy chips at the pub and cereal for breakfast without bothering to get dressed kind of guy

ok but for real - POV: you're Saul Silva. Your dad died at your hand because of a Burned One, you killed your best friend because he wanted to slaughter civilians, and the PTSD off of both of those things is off the charts, and that's before we get to the bit where you fought a war and had to imprison your former commander for war crimes. You raised your former friend's son because you're a good egg trying really hard to do the right thing.

And then - and THEN - in the space of a few months - you yourself get infected by the same thing that killed your father. You find out that the thing you killed your friend over is maybe not what you thought it was and those civilians were potentially actually enemies after all. You find out that the friend you thought you killed is alive and has been in hiding for 16 years, the commander you imprisoned gets free and has you arrested, and then you find out that your other friend who hides you and who helped you take down your evil commander is the literal Worst and that friend tries to kill you using your former friend who you thought you killed. Oh, and the former friend ends up dead again and now your foster son semi-hates you because you didn't quite tell him the truth about what happened to his dad.

Oh, and on top of all this, your other friend whom you've spent all these years with, who relied on you and whom you loved dearly, is now dead too because of your former commander.

How the fuck is Saul not rocking back and forth in a corner somewhere having a breakdown? How is he even remotely still sane?

Xanthe and Ceri somehow

Summary: The Bull’s Chargers attract the attention of Xanthe, who thinks they can use the mercenary group to their advantage against the Absolute.

The Bull’s Chargers were known all over Baldur’s Gate as a highly regarded mercenary group with a striking leader. The Iron Bull was a tiefling - with a hint of drow blood the rumours said - who most of the city could spot from twenty feet away. He was tall, broad shouldered, heavy set, with large impressive horns, and managed to be even louder than his appearance was distinctive. He spoke like a noble, which always surprised people, and he dressed as if he had plenty of money to spare. His group collected outcasts from all walks of life so long as they were skilled enough to keep up with him. The one Xanthe was most curious about was currently sitting at a table in the Elfsong tavern. They had done their research and recognised the Charger immediately - Ceri, surname unknown but it was strongly suspected he had an affiliation with the Trevelyans. A noble family from Waterdeep who were known for the dark red hair, dusky skin, and violet eyes that seemed to identify every member as one of their own. Even the illegitimate children of Andreas Trevelyan, the patriarch of the family, bore the resemblance. Given they were human and Ceri was half elf, it didn’t take much thought to wonder what his connection was.

As Xanthe approached him they kept this in mind, they knew he wouldn’t be bought, because if he wanted he could be making a very prosperous living by blackmailing his father. Instead he chose to stay on the sidelines, he could have easily started his own mercenary company, money was not an issue, or at least he made it look that way. Xanthe took a deep breath, nodded to her companions and approached Ceri who sat on his own table pouring over a few maps.

“I want a word with your employer,” Xanthe asked him suddenly skipping the introduction entirely. Ceri jumped a little at the sudden noise but all shock left his body when he saw who was speaking. It was then he sighed in annoyance. Xanthe couldn’t help but feel a little affronted.

“Boss has been expecting you.” Ceri said before looking back at the table. “If you want to hire the Chargers, go through the regular channels like everyone else.”

“I’m more interested in information,” Xanthe pressed, pulling out a chair and sitting down opposite Ceri who sighed in irritated and lifted one leg over the other with his hands on his lap.

“You’re going to be disappointed then.” Ceri intended this with finality but Xanthe didn’t move, instead they leaned forward.

“The Iron Bull originates from a militaristic cult of tieflings, yes? One he would prefer to keep away from?” They asked with a smirk on their lips. Ceri stiffened, furrowing his dark red eyebrows and narrowing his violet eyes on suspicion, he found him backing his chair away from Xanthe slightly. He knew they were laying the bait for Ceri to beg for information, but he knew better than that.

“That has nothing to do with you,” he replied simply and carefully. His demeanour hardened, as if any good will he had towards them had dissipated.

“Perhaps I know something about their next steps that The Iron Bull might not have.” This was the trump card and Xanthe knew it, they knew full well this would precisely what meant Ceri could not deny them, even if it came with some extra song and dance before that part.

“And how do I know you’re not just someone they’ve paid to smoke him out?”

“Well, I believe it is not your job to decide that, is it?”

“Not my job to play messenger boy either,” Ceri pointed out, his eyes went to the stairs. Xanthe followed his gaze, they wondered if Bull’s Chargers had rented a room here.

“He isn’t just your employer, is he?” Xanthe pointed out slyly.

“Bit of a personal question.” Ceri folded his arms and scowled a little affronted.

“I wonder what I could do with that information.”

“Literally nothing. Mine and Bull’s relationship isn’t a secret. It’s just not your business.”

“Is it a good idea to sleep with the man who has so much power over you?” Xanthe felt suddenly relieved that Karlach and Montauk had not joined them.

“Look,” Ceri said firmly, he spoke quietly and slowly, his fists curling in irritation as he spoke the words he’d had to repeat several times before. “When I’m on the job he barks orders and I follow them, when we’re not we do what every other couple does. It’s simple. He’s far too ethical for me to get special treatment, or for him to abuse his position.”

“Do the soldiers from his old group know about you?”

“I- well- why?”

“Curious, seems like it would be an obvious weakness for them to exploit.”

“What do you want?”

“A meeting with The Iron Bull.”

“Why?”

“I think his old cult is connected to the Absolute.”

“They’re not.”

“How can you be so sure?”

“They hate magic and their attitude to anything magical or just weird is either experiment on it or kill it.”

“If a parasite has taken control over one of the leaders then they may have changed their perception on that,” Xanthe pointed out, slipping an envelope filled with paper from their pack.

“Doubt it.”

“I found this, in one of their camps.” Xanthe placed the envelope in front of Ceri, he sighed and to it, quickly skimming the letters between The Arishok and Enver Gortash. Xanthe managed to restrain themself not to grin in success when they saw Ceri’s face fell.

“I- Gods. That’s… that’s not great.” He didn’t ask as he took the letters, he slipped them into his pack. He didn’t ask whether he could take them, but he knew Bull would not trust a stranger with this information. “Come with me,” Ceri said finally, getting to his feet. “We’ve got a room upstairs. I guess it won’t kill Bull to hear you out.”

Born a mage to the powerful Trevelyan family of Ostwick, her arcane abilities presented themselves early. Not in any grand dramatic incident, but simply by nature of being surrounded by templars from an early age. It was her own sister that recognized the signs and reported them to their parents.

Ever the opportunist, Lord Andreas Trevelyan did not feel shame when he learned his daughter was a mage, but instead found a new corner of Ostwick society to dominate. Should his daughter became a Grand Enchanter, he could exert his influence over even the circle of Magi. So he sent her to the Ostwick circle to train. Though, given their standing in the Chantry, Nicolette was often permitted to return home for extended "visits" of up to months at a time.

Nicolette, quite honestly, preferred the quiet of the Circle to the intrigue of politics and courtly life. Yet, ever the obedient daughter yearning to please her father, she played her part and did it well. She was not so dazzling and witty as her older sisters, but she had a sweet sort of charm about her that made her well-liked within Ostwick society.

When the Circle dissolves, Nicolette runs straight to her parents' arms, seeking their guidance on how to proceed, as she always had.

As an Enchanter of the Ostwick Circle, Nicole still possessed some influence over the lingering mages, who chose her, among a few other Ostwick Enchanters, to attend the Divine's Conclave as representatives of their Circle. Her parents encouraged this, and she was accompanied by a retinue of former templars from among the Trevelyan clan. Almost all of these escorts died in the explosion, including her older brother Maxwell and a close cousin.

She survives, is made Herald - you know the broad strokes of that.

She leans into the "Herald" title as a comfort to herself. Andraste chose her for this - trust in the Maker, there is a plan, you will live. Desperate sorts of thoughts.

She allies with the Templars, still under the influence of her parents.

She doesn't truly shake her parents' influence until they reach Skyhold and she comes into her own, farther away from her family than she's ever been, and she discovers who she is and what she wants without them telling her.

She forces Celene, Briala, and Gaspard to work together, recruits the Grey Wardens, respects Mythal's temple, persuades Calpurnia to abandon Corypheus, and lets Morrigan drink from the Well of Sorrows.

The youngest of six children of the ambitious head of the Trevelyan family in Ostwick. She was never set to inherit much of anything, and it was largely expected she would either join the Templars or take the cloth, as her older siblings had done.

Her father is not a particularly kind man, there are moments where it seems he loves his children (always fondly calling her Colette, taking an interest in the progression of her studies, etc.) his ambition always came first. Ambition for his own glory, for the good of the family. His children were more pawns for his own schemes than anything else.

Her mother wasn't much better, coming from Orlesian nobility with ties to the Chantry, she expected nothing short of perfection from her children. While she had high expectations that all of her children fell just short of, she was especially critical of her youngest child. Mild mannered, shy Nicolette keeping to the fringes of society, not seeming to fit in anywhere with her family's plans.

When she doesn't seem to fit the cloistered life of either the Templars or the Chantry Sisters, it is decided she will be put to use through an advantageous marriage.

She is betrothed three times throughout her life, all without her input and only ever meeting one of her prospective husbands. First to a member of the noble Nevarran Forsythia family, then when her father found a more advantageous match in a wealthy family from Starkhaven, then most recently breaking off that engagement to betroth her to a family with connections to an Antivan Merchant Prince.

Ever dutiful, Nicolette never complained about her fate, though she had little interest in marrying a complete stranger, she knew her protests would be futile and would only result in her parents' wrath.

She is a very good shot, a keen huntress who prefers the embrace of nature over the farce of court life or the restrictive life of a chantry sister or templar.

Officially her family remains neutral in the mage-templar conflict, claiming to be on the side of the Chantry rather. But privately they supported the plight of the Templars, supplying the Templar deserters with gold and swords.

She is sent with her uncle, former Knight-Commander of the Ostwick circle, her cousins (children of two different uncles) one a templar another a Chantry cleric, and her paternal Aunt, a revered mother. She is sent mostly to prove her worth as a representative of the main branch of the family. There she reunites with her sister Eveline, a mage of the Ostwick tower, who had claimed neutral in the conflict.

All of these family members, including her sister, are killed in the explosion at the Conclave. Considering how deeply rooted her family's connection was to the Chantry and Templar order specifically, she knew many others who perished in the blast.

She is very much puppeted by her parents at first, acting to do what she thought they would approve of. Fighting to earn their approval even then.

After Haven she begins to grow her own backbone and break free of her parents' influence. Choosing what she wants and what she believes in.

Rose, Duncan and Theodore (Joan Cousland, Alistair, and Ser Gilmore’s kids) - 9:31, 9:33. Theodore is biologically Ser Gilmore’s son. 

River and Juno (Misha, Faelan and Zevran's kids) - 9:31. The two are Dalish twins. 

Andrea and Amaia (Verroth Brosca, Sinda Aeducan Leliana's daughter) - 9:32. The girls are birthday twins. 

Anders 2 (Dante Amell and Limerick Surana’s son) - 9:31. Dante was pregnant (he’s a transman) at the time towards the end of the Blight. Anders 2 being a brother to Kieran.  

Julian Caron (son of Arianne Caron and Nathaniel Howe) - 9:20. Julian was adopted as a baby by Arianne during a Grey Warden mission in Orlais where she would raise him as her son and bring him with her to Fereldan full time on her decision.

Malcolm and Dante 2 (Abigail Hawke and Anders' kids) - 9:32 and 9:33.  

Tanya and Toriel (Estelle Hawke, Merrill and Varric's daughters) - 9:33. Toriel was adopted at birth, given up by her bio mom. 

Garrett and Marian (Damian Hawke, Isabela, and Fenris' kids) - 9:35. Damian Hawke is a transman who birthed the fraternal twins.

Inquisitor's kids:

Brock Cadash, Marcus and Magnus Eisley (sons of Nico Cadash and Dorian Pavus) - 9:35. Marcus and Magnus were adopted by Nico and Dorian and were born in the same year as Brock. Brock was the result of a one-night stand and the birth mother gave full custody to Nico.  

Revan and Lunas Lavellan (son of Lorna Lavellan and Solas) - 9:35, 9:42. Revan is from Lorna's first love she fancied and who was an explorer. But the father died to illness after his last delve, leaving Lorna devastated, but Lorna kept strong to raise her son. Revan would be six in the beginning of Inquisition. He acts like he's smarter than anyone and takes him time to warm up to newer people as he finds it hard to form attachments. 

Hallani, and Scarlet (daughters of Iron Bull and Liam Lavellan) - 9:36 and 9:42 respectively. Scarlet being half qunari and half elf. Hallani was from a previous marriage between Liam and his former husband, losing him in an accident involving having fallen off a cliff.  

Valkyrie, Anthony, and Kurt (daughter and twin sons of Ivan Trevelyan and Cassandra Pentaghast) - 9:35, 9:43. Valkyrie was from an affair between Ivan and a templar he was infatuated with, but she ended up giving their daughter to the Trevelyans and not being associated with them as the relationship didn’t work out. Ivan does see Valkyrie when he did visit his family.  Anthony and Kurt are twins Ivan has with Cassandra.

Ryder, and Nerissa (twin son and daughter of Iris Trevelyan and Cullen Rutherford) - 9:42. Iris and Cullen married after the twins were born.  

Sherni, Shani and Lydia (twin daughters and singleton daughter of Rasha Adaar and Thom Rainer) - 9:34, 9:42. Rasha Adaar had a girlfriend she loved that resulted in having their twin girls. Rasha would end up losing her girlfriend when she was killed during a job. Lydia was born after the great battle and Thom married Rasha soon after, becoming the dad who stepped up for Sherni and Shani.

In having thought back to Dragon Age, over the years I have been crafting an au where all seven origin Wardens were recruited by Duncan and survived the Joining and would become the Heroes of Fereldan they were meant to be. Plus, the optional Orlesian Grey Warden from Awakening who would assist them in that continuation. Its changed a lot over the years and I think I’m finally satisfied with it. 

And for Dragon Age 2, all three classes Hawke can be existing, but with a twist! One of them is human and the other two are an elf and dwarf who were adopted into the family who become the Champions of Kirkwall they’ll be known as. 

Finally, Dragon Age Inquisition. All six potential Inquisitors survived the catastrophe, but only four of them bear the shared mark within their respective hands, and the other two becoming companions to them. All this existing within the same au saga! Here is what I have so far and I may add more to it. May or may not be a fic using all this, but I wanted to share my own ideas.

The longer Andrea stays in Haven, the more she regrets the day her eldest brother took the throne in Ostwick--as that was the day she lost contact with the person she loved most in the world--and the more she begins to wonder if maybe it truly was Divine Intervention that led her to Haven in the first place. Not necessarily because she's supposed to save the world, she thinks, but rather because now she has a chance to change her fate and win back the woman she lost to her brother's bigotry so long ago.

Once, when she was young and selfish, Lady Josephine Montilyet accused her mother of lying because of something she hadn't even understood the significance of. With no knowledge of the bigotry that tore them apart, she continued for years attempting to contact the love she'd lost the day Tomas Trevelyan took the throne. Now fate has seen to it that that woman is back in her life, but she's changed so much. Josephine isn't sure she even wants the answer to why the love was lost between them.
