Andrés Iniesta Man of the Match
Andrés Iniesta Man of the Match
Spanish national Vissel Kobe footballer. Position: Central midfielder.
He was a former Barcelona youth player and played from 2002 to 2018, and was the core of the midfield that led to FC Barcelona's heyday along with Chavi Hernandez and Sergio Busquets. He also led the national team to its third consecutive major championship in football history.
He has a stellar personal career, finishing second and third in the Ballon d'Or in 2010 and 2012, nine consecutive FIFA FIFPro World XI since 2009, six UEFA Team of the Year, and all of the best teams in Euro 2008, 2010 World Cup and Euro 2012. He is also the only player in football history to win a Man of the Match in the World Cup Final, the UEFA Euro Final, and the UEFA Champions League Final.
While soul duo Chabi Hernandez played a role in coordinating the entire attack and supplying the ball while keeping the ball, Iniesta moved diligently from a higher position, transported the ball, distributed it to the attackers, and broke through directly by playing with the defense with a brilliant dribble. In a simple schematic, Chabi (Wa Busquets) builds up, Iniesta (Wa Messi) takes charge of the pennant, and Messi (Wa and the rest of the strikers) take charge of the finish. In particular, Barcelona's management of the game was mainly focused on the right due to the presence of Messi, Chabi, and Dani Aubes, and Iniesta showed its true value when it used the opposing players pulled to the right to break down the opponent's formation and shake it. An organ is the ability to defend, take out, and break the defense even in extremely narrow spaces. This is a level that can be counted throughout football history. Dribble skills are evaluated to have reached their peak, and there is no problem compared to Messi. Because of this, South Korean soccer expert Han Joon-hee said that Iniesta could be Messi's match if he chose a club other than Barcelona. Lionel Messi explodes his energy and shows a dribble that can't be stopped by several defenders, while Iniesta simply takes a unique rhythm and touches the ball, disrupts even the highest-performing world-class defender, easily in any situation.
In particular, the ability to disturb and dig the opponent using both feet is simply excellent, but because it is slower than Messi, it shows brilliant techniques such as giving decisive assists to the attackers or raising high-quality crosses rather than trying to shoot directly after breaking through. The general killer pass itself is comparable to the car, and especially the pass that no one expected in the penalty area is Iniesta's biggest specialty. The number of direct assists is smaller than expected, but the decisive pass that breaks down the opponent is Iniesta's. The opponent whose defense has collapsed is often violated by Messi, who has a space on his way to defend. On top of that, since dribbling is also excellent, when Iniesta starts to run wild, the opposing defense creates space to prevent Iniesta, which creates space for the attackers to squeeze in, especially for Messi.
And the most remarkable ability is the ability to deflate, the greatest virtue required of a top player in modern football. Iniesta's ability to decompress when his condition rises is literally absolute. Based on his incredible ball-keeping ability, he can take off the pressure with excellent trapping and individual skills, and rip the defense without losing the ball to his opponent. Thanks to this, FC Barcelona is rarely robbed of the ball even when the line is extremely raised, so it is not in a crisis. In short, it's a nightmare for the opposing team with Chabi. Iniesta in its heyday, especially when it won six gold medals with the 2012 Euro and the next two to three years, showed an overwhelming impact if Messi was in the forward line, it could be said that Iniesta was in the midfielder line.
Of course, there are weaknesses. The biggest weakness is the delicate glass body. The 09–10 season was quite long rested due to injury and missed the important semifinals against Inter. The result is Barcelona's elimination from the semifinals. However, this part has reached a level that has rarely been mentioned since the 10-11 season. Another problem is poor scoring ability. The shots that can be seen in the occasional scoring scene are pretty good. However, they often hand over to Villa or Messi without actively attempting to shoot even at points that could be shot. Thanks to this, there were many people who were quite frustrated at the World Cup. However, he has a shaky star ability to score one goal when it is crucial. In the World Cup final, Kaida scored the winning goal in extra time, making the people who were peeling go in. And for World Class of World Class, there are ups and downs. However, since he is a star player who is good at important times, he is not known unless he is a fan who enjoys the Barsa game.
Iniesta, who has a good understanding of tactics, will play as a central midfielder in the Spanish national team and Barcelona. When Chabi is absent, he plays the central role of Chabi's pass and also plays as a side playmaker. When Yaya Toure was absent, he also played as a defensive midfielder. However, compared to Kaka, Gerrard, and Lampard, their scoring ability is poor. Barcelona uses 4-3-3 tactics rather than 4-4-2 and 4-5-1, so direct attacks are less required than other midfielders, but Barcelona also puts a higher weight on playing possession football than scoring midfielder. In addition, although In-hye is basically located a little forward than Cha-bi, Cha-bi is better at penetrating the second line and scoring following it. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't score a goal. In the second leg of the 2009 UEFA Champions League semi-final, he scored a dramatic equalizer to lead the team to a treble.
Although it is a disadvantage, it is difficult to say that he is a player who produces results alone due to his play style. Dribles and decompression are top-notch, but they are not players who can tear up the opposing defense like Messi due to their lack of explosive power, and it is difficult to expect a score due to their weak kick power. It is a little too much to say that he is good at long-distance ball transportation, and he can replace Chabi to some extent as a central midfielder, but as a result, he did not have the same coordination skills as Chabi or Alonso. He is also good at creative key passes, but it is not easy to see such passes shine against dense defense, and in that regard, it is less powerful than the key pass that Messi stabs while driving. Obviously, if you look at each level of ability, it doesn't get pushed back by anyone and Irbil's total is good, but it has become somewhat ambiguous compared to the total. However, in reverse, he can play the best role as a supporting actor because he can play various roles by himself as an A-class. Iniesta, both in Barcelona and Spain, was practically a tribute alone, going back and forth between the left center and the side, and the opponent often gave up space on the other side and was violated. Of course, Iniesta himself was a player who could produce as many fatal results as possible if the defense was loosened. In particular, in the heyday of Euro 2012, he showed himself going crazy alone, overshadowing these style limitations.
Former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola told Chabi Hernandez, "You're going to retire me. However, he was a player who said, "That guy will retire both you and me," but Iniesta played a distinctly different role from Chabi in the actual team position and did not become Chabi's direct successor. In fact, Cesc Fabregas was Barcelona's successor to Chavi, but Cesc played less than expected, handing Cesc over to Chelsea, and Ivan Rakitic, who was brought from Sevilla, played a great role as Chavi's replacement. Anyway, Barcelona's dominance in the midfield at the time when Chabi, Iniesta and Busquets coexisted is considered one of the strongest of the time. Thanks to this, Barcelona's attackers are suffering from a controversy over the bubble. However, due to Cha Bi and Iniesta's poor physique, it is not suitable for the style of strongly pressing with their bodies like Chelsea. 08/09 Champions League semi-final second leg is a case in point. At that time, Iniesta played as a wing forward, and the position where physicality was less important in modern football was the side position, but he struggled even there. Of course, he became a legend because he had skills beyond his physical character, and that game also ended up winning the away game with multiple points.
In conjunction with these advantages and strong mentalities, the characteristic is that they were very strong in big games, especially in the finals. In addition to winning goals and MOMs in the 2010 World Cup final, MOMs in the 2015 Champions League final, MOMs in the 2009 Champions League final, and MOMs in the 2011 Champions League final, he was unrivaled. In addition, MOM selection in the 2016 Copa del Rey final and MOM selection in the 2018 Copa del Rey final can additionally modify his performance in the final.
He is the epitome of a fair player to the extent that he has never been sent off during his long career. Since he still maintains his career, this record may be broken, but he is likely to maintain it based on his performance on the ground so far.

Thank you, Gavi, for making the transition to a new #6 easier by having a name that’s one letter different from Xavi’s (yes, I’m aware we had other #6s since Xavi’s departure. Yes, I’m aware that “Gavi” is a nickname). Imagine the hilarity if that was the case with Pedri and Iniesta too.
#when pedri came onto the scene god....he was my light#xavi and andrés were EVERYTHING for me and i missed them#i missed the soul of barça#and then this teenage boy showed up and it was shocking#his talent is unreal. it would be at any age but he was a kid when he showed up! he still is. he just turned 20#if he continues to get better and he stays in form he may end up surpassing iniesta. look at where he is now#and none of say this lightly considering we adore iniesta and we've seen him play for so many years#gavi doesn't have the same profile as xavi. he's very different#but with him and pedri as our 6 and 8? i feel like i'm coming home#i feel like we've been lost for so long and the ship is righting itself even if we're in trouble#the doldrums lasted so long but i feel excitement and hope again#we sorely need that and if they pull it off then they're going to be as special (in a different way) to me#the beating heart of barça is its midfield and these two boys sure are something#i don't think i can put into words what these two already mean to me and what they will mean in the years to come
