posting this here because i've been searching for this game for YEARS to no avail and multiple posts in various reddit threads haven't turned up any answers:
i'm looking for a flash game, and i'm pretty much positive that i used to play it on Andkon, although it might have been on other flash game sites like Miniclip or Kongregate as well
it was this really cool puzzle game where you move a ball around these different levels trying to get it into a specific spot in order to advance to the next level. it had a very 90's/2000's-esque "futuristic" / abstract aesthetic, i think the ball was shiny looking, and the backgrounds / obstacles were really cool visually. i think the backdrop was usually black or otherwise very dark, with the obstacles being fairly colorful but not super vibrant/neon (so the color scheme was fairly dark and easy on the eyes / very nice to look at from what i remember). it also had a really cool ambient soundtrack
the controls to move the ball probably would have been arrow keys. there was no "camera" movement, so in other words with every level the entire map was visible on the screen
i know this isn't much to go off of considering how many puzzle-style flash games there were that followed the "moving a ball around a level" format, but if this rings a bell for anyone please let me know!!!! what i loved about this game is that unlike a lot of those other ones, this one was actually really visually cool and satisfying to look at with an awesome ambient/electronic soundtrack. if i could find out what it was i'd love to search for it on flashpoint or something like that and possibly play it again or at the very least find some old screencaps of the game

I will never be over the death of flash because andkon is no longer functional and it’s genuinely like a bit saddening that over 4600 games are no longer available. Like they’re just gone. Maybe other copies that don’t use flash exist but man

#nah ive seen vids and stuff and that shit looked fire
you don't get it, you don't get it. flash was available for everything and everyone to use. it's not just that it looked fire, people learnt how to use it and created masterpieces faster than with anything else I've heard of. flash made games, flash made films, flash made songs. all but the last homestuck updates that weren't just gifs were flash. newgrounds was the playground of the internet, andkon arcade was the people's arcade, "flash game" meant "you're either going to learn something about human creativity or play a retextured clone of whatever shit you last saw" and we wouldn't have it any other way
flash holds the internet's memory, the child memories, the fun we had, and the open door to making literally anything because it was oh so free to use, and easy compared to other stuff - and your creations had unmatched freedom, too, because you weren't really limited by anything except the lack of detail and quality when your format really only works by loading it in a browser and having the lowest size possible
i don't think anyone born in this millenium truly understands what we lost when we lost flash player

The only thing
The only thing that effectively reduces my stress and anxiety is looking at pictures of liminal spaces. It's so soothing and relaxing, especially the odd/weird music that plays in the background.
I skim through these videos on youtube. I don't know what it is that I like about them. I used to play a lot of room escape games as a kid on Andkon and Newgrounds, so this reminds me of it. Also it's an introvert's heaven because the pictures look so quiet and uninhabited. It's soothing and relaxing.
The combination of the childhood nostalgia and the soothing effects is what makes it so appealing. It helps me forget my daily stressors (nelieve me i have a lot). It's creepy, but more in an intriguing way than a scary way. It's more relaxing than the meditation music I used to listen to.

Simtown andkon
#SIMTOWN ANDKON VERIFICATION#
#SIMTOWN ANDKON SOFTWARE#
SimTown allows the player to construct a town consisting of streets, houses, businesses and parks and then control the people in it. (Firefox is currently the fastest environment, although other browsers should work as well. SimTown is a 1995 personal computer game published by Maxis, much like the best selling SimCity and Sims but on a smaller scale. If you are encountering issues with control, sound, or other technical problems, read this entry of some common solutions.Īlso, Armchair Arcade (a video game review site) has written an excellent guide to playing on the Internet Arcade as well.īelow are a suggested collection of games that run at proper speed in a powerful browser. One More Rep is very similar to Anabolic Express and can’t be played unless you finish the first side mission for Atticus. The game is a construction and management simulation, very similar to SimCity (although marketed towards much younger audiences). The Ascent One More Rep is a side-mission you can start in the video game developed by Neon Giant, after you finish Anabolic Express and to complete it you’ll have to find Merle once again, but this time in Stimtown. Please report any issues to the Internet Arcade Operator, Jason Scott. It was developed and published by Maxis Software. In some cases, odd controllers make proper playing of the systems on a keyboard or joypad a pale imitation of the original experience. I mean, if Bowser appeared in the Super Nintendo version of SimCity. Many games have a "boot-up" sequence when first turned on, where the systems run through a check and analysis, making sure all systems are go. Korol is the Russian name for a chess king, and Queen Ferz and Kon the Knight.
#SIMTOWN ANDKON VERIFICATION#
Most games are playable in some form, although some are useful more for verification of behavior or programming due to the intensity and requirements of their systems. Back to this old game.SimTown is a 1995 video game published by Maxis, much like the best-selling SimCity but on a smaller scale. The game collection ranges from early "bronze-age" videogames, with black and white screens and simple sounds, through to large-scale games containing digitized voices, images and music.
#SIMTOWN ANDKON SOFTWARE#
The Internet Arcade is a web-based library of arcade (coin-operated) video games from the 1970s through to the 1990s, emulated in JSMAME, part of the JSMESS software package.Ĭontaining hundreds of games ranging through many different genres and styles, the Arcade provides research, comparison, and entertainment in the realm of the Video Game Arcade.
