You were sitting on one of the bleachers, waiting in anticipation as Changbin walked up to the base to bat. His team was up, and if he played this right, they would win the game. Half of the audience was rooting for Changbin just like you, watching carefully as the pitcher prepared to throw the ball.

With his leg lifted up, he pitched the ball and you watched as it soared through the air, right towards where Changbin was standing preparing to bat. You could practically see his eyes focus on the ball like a predator focuses on its prey. With one strong (and very accurate) swing of the bat, the baseball went flying across the field, and Changbin ran through the bases with ease.

Even before he had reached home base, the audience erupted in cheers, knowing he would have more than enough time to get there given how far the ball went.

You were so excited, cheering as loudly as you could so that maybe Changbin would be able to distinguish your voice from the rest of the shouting. You were so focused on watching him as he finally made it to the home base that you didn’t see the baseball rushing towards you. Neither did you hear the, “watch out!” that someone next to you had shouted last minute.

But you felt the impact of the ball right on your forehead, and the subsequent pain that followed. You weren’t even sure how you managed to get hit. The game was over, and you were standing to the sides— you shouldn’t have been in the line of danger in any way.

But unluckily for you, some jerk on the other team was a sore loser. You had looked down to the field again, seeing as a boy on the other team watched you get hit with a smirk on his ugly face. He had thrown the ball at you on purpose - because you were Changbin’s girlfriend.

Luckily, he had just thrown it with his hands. If it had been with the bat, the injury would’ve probably been worse. It definitely wasn’t going to give you brain damage or anything, but it hurt like hell either way.

You stumbled down the bleachers and back to the hallway by the changing rooms to find your boyfriend. He would probably be there shortly, and maybe he would know what to do with a baseball to the head. Tears were pricking at your eyes from the pain, but you were trying to hold them back.

8 minutes later, you heard the excited chatter that followed the team after every win. Your boyfriend was in the front of the group, wearing a bright smile at his win, yet again. As they walked into the hallway, he noticed you sitting on the bench immediately and rushed over to you, excusing himself from the rest of the team who went into the changing rooms.

“We won again!” He cheered happily, and that’s when the tears burst through. You went to hug him, and while he was confused as to why you were crying, he hugged you back for a moment.

“Hey…” He pulled back, tilting up your chin gently so you were looking at him and he could see your face. “Are… are those good tears or bad tears?” Concern was laced in his tone, and a gentle expression covered his features, his eyebrows furrowing as he looked at the shiny tears on your cheeks.

“Bad.” You managed to mumble out, wincing at the pain.

“What happened?” He asked softly.

“I just got hit with a baseball, you know. Nothing much…” You wiped your tears from your cheeks, looking down at your shoes awkwardly.

“What!? You got hit with a ball?! Where!? How hard did it hit you-” He placed his hands on your shoulders, eyes searching over your figure to try to find where the ball had hit you.

“I got hit in the forehead.” You pointed to the left side of your forehead, “My head’s been hurting like crazy, but I don’t think I was hit as hard as I could’ve been.” You reasoned, letting Changbin inspect your forehead carefully.

“Let’s go get some ice, it’ll help with future swelling.” He said quickly, standing up and holding out his hand.

“Will it swell?! Does that mean I’m gonna have an ugly bump on my forehead?” You asked in disgust.

He giggled, “Well not if we go get some ice, come on babe.” You took his hand, following him to the nurse’s office in the school to get ice and paper towels.

Once you had obtained it, Changbin led you out to the stairs at the side of the school, sitting down with you. It was a pleasant day, so it would be a shame to stay indoors.

“We should go on a date this weekend.” He said, smiling cheekily.

“Not if I have a bump on my head.”

“I still want to take you somewhere, even if you have a bump on your head, you’ll still look pretty.” He told you.

“You’re such a flirt.” You teased, pressing the ice to your forehead carefully.

“Are you still in pain?” Changbin asked after a moment of silence, moving your hand with the ice to look at the spot again.

“A little bit.” You pouted, looking at him with dazzling eyes - his favourite feature on you. It melted his heart whenever you gave him that look. No matter how many times, it still worked on him.

“Let me kiss it better.” He compromised, pulling you closer and pressing a feather-light kiss to your forehead. “I love you.” He whispered to you, making you smile and look back at him.

“I love you too.” You pressed your lips to his softly, getting lost in a kiss and forgetting about the pain.

Kujhikoslan, the Complete Grammar Guide

Of all the groups in Strelles, the Fox Skulks were the first societies to approach the Sky Kingdoms upon realizing that they had made generous strides in preserving and recovering the Old Tongues. Their language is deeply precious to them and though they respect the decision of the gods to stop the meaningless aggression all species directed at each other, they’re pleased to see that the gods agreed with them reclaiming their Tongues once they understood the point that was being made.

Given that the skulks were the first to invent a written variant of their language, they were among the easiest to rebuild once they could understand the markings and managed to break it down. As such, it’s considered to be the tongue closest to its Old Form before the Connection - something they take great pride in. This means that much like the Sky Kingdoms, the language isn’t exclusive to any rank or position but rather, an inherent part of living within the skulks.

Part 3: Animacy Based Noun Classes

Kujhikoslan has simply tri-class animacy system. The hierarchy is very basically animate, semi-animate and inanimate objects.

The Animate Class is usually fairly obvious - it’s moving, breathing things like fellow creatures and most plants that grow rapidly such as flowers. The Inanimate Class is equally obvious consisting mostly of things such as trees, rocks, mud and certain creatures that a skulk can be stubborn about.

The Semi Animate Class is for things granted a degree of life from their religious beliefs.

Animate Examples (-(r)a) - Jhiko (fox), Kis (cat), Tciri (a partner bird)

Semi Animate Examples (-(m)e) - Ansel (wind),

Inanimate Examples (-(h)a)) - Komok (rock), Hiyil (river)

When put into practice, the animacy system applies to and affects numerals and adjectives.

Ainra kis - one cat Arume ansel - blue wind Ainhal hiyil - one river

Part 4: Grammatical Number

Much like Adovusala, the skulks of strelles have a rather simple grammatical number system. Only a singular/plural divide leaving the singular bare - jhiiko (fox) - and adding the prefix ku- to make it plural - kujhiko (foxes).

Part 5: Tense and Aspect

---

There are four tenses and aspects in Kujhikoslan the same as Adovusala, there are also four tenses in this language. The four aspects are the perfective, habitual, continuous and pausative aspects - the four tenses being distant past, past, present and future tenses.

Here’s the example word;

In the second and third persons, the animacy hierarchy triggers agreement on the verbs.

Asla - to speak (animate) Aslamri - to speak (semi animate) Aslaso - to speak (inanimate)

These agreements are meant to emphasize what’s happening - generally speaking, rocks don’t speak and ergo, the agreement is meant to confirm that yes, this improbable interpretation is indeed what this sentence means.

Hel kis aslar ir hel ansel - the cat speaks to the wind

In this situation, the cat is the one doing the speaking and ergo, the word used is aslar.

Hel anser aslamrir ir hel kis - the wind speaks to the cat

Now here, it’s the wind speaking to a cat. In this case, it’s assumed that the wind is actually a spirit of a sort, whispering to the cat rather than the actual wind itself.

Hel komok aslasor ir hel kis - the rock speaks to the cat

Same situation as the previous sentence except even more unbelievable to the listener - rocks rarely speak if ever, so a speaking rock is typically interpreted as a trapped spirit or even a demon.

Part 6: Pronouns

Now unlike the language of the packs, Kujhikoslan doesn’t have a system of honorifics making their pronouns much simpler than Adovusala;

The possessives unfortunately get a little bit more complicated than that as the skulks differentiate between alienable and inalienable objects.

Alienable Nouns are things you have a choice over owning and can be divorced from you such as a food or an adornment. Meanwhile, Inalienable nouns are things that can’t be divorced from the person such as a blood relations and your species.

Part 7: Articles and Demonstratives

The articles and demonstratives of Kujhikoslan are very simple with definite articles and indefinite articles for a specific thing and a broad thing. Unlike other languages however, the articles are divided up into the three animacy classes;

Hel is the definite articles are;

Ma anser - the wind Ke kommok - the rock Hel bero - the dog

And the indefinite articles are;

Ya bero - a dog Lu neco - an egg El kommok - a rock

The demonstratives have been left alone in the distinction with only a near/far difference;

Here’s a list of amazing bagginshield under 500 kudos that deserve so much more love- (i made this list so long ago that a lot of them have a lot more kudos now BUT they’re still amazing so-)

These are all completed. In no particular order-

In which Bilbo's time in Valinor ends, and his next adventure begins with someone he has waited a long time to see.

2. I Saw You In A Dream by vintagelilacs (NR)

Dwarves and Hobbits do not share the same afterlife.

Bilbo resigns himself to the fact that he'll never reunite with Thorin; not even in death. He'd do well to forget everything that transpired, but acclimatizing to life in the Shire proves difficult when he starts seeing Thorin in his dreams. And as the dreams start to recur, Bilbo learns that Thorin's presence might be more than his subconscious at work.

Years after the battle, Thorin and Bilbo live in Erebor, though Thorin has left the crown to Fili. A snack track for Jaehyun's solo song

220805 - Jaehyun is shooting an MV for his upcoming solo song (NCT Lab project) and gets a coffee truck from Sabujak - DoWoo.

The upper banner reads 도도한 재현이 정말 귀여워

The first syllables make 도재정 - DoJaeJung

The picture used is of Jaehyun hugging Doyoung and Jungwoo for NR photoshoot.

A Korean fan noted that the same truck was rented to support Hee Soo (Doyoung's co-star of "To X who doesn't love me"). The actress is not from SM.

It's clear that it was Doyoung who ordered the truck.

He is the neo who always knows who does what, everyone's schedule. It's him who sends fruit baskets to sick members and drink/food support to MCing or performing neos.

He is the neo who was present on the set of "To X who doesn't love me to try the snacks" from Caferun food truck and write down the site of the company.

Jungwoo isn't a person to remember about contacting others and keeping promises (without a set date) when he is busy. Many neos complained he offers to eat together and never invites them later.

From the story about the first two foodtruck for Jaehyun we know that Jungwoo was, perhaps, the only neo who actually contributed. He helped Doyoung to choose pictures and come up with a funny message. I feel like the message this time is also his creation, but it was Doyoung who wanted to incorporate DoJaeJung (It is Doyoung who used this abbreviation for the trio in lives, and he likes to use first syllables of names in general. Koreans make abbreviations for everything).

"Forever only, one and only, Jeong Jaehyun" - that's very Doyoung style. It's not the first time he assures Jaehyun that he is "the one".

Did Jungwoo contribute money? Probably not. Jaehyun is a hyung to him. Plus Doyoung "Young money" always pays for everyone and everything.

Now, was Jungwoo invited for a cover up only or did he ask to be included? I'd say the first, but let's wait for the story, how Woo will explain it. I don't think he'll boast at length about it unless he genuinely was involved.

Here is a thing, DoWoo are a working unit, they don't plan stuff together. JaeWoo can prepare something for fun (6:44), but not DoWoo. If Doyoung wanted to send a joined food truck for his maknae, it would have been more logical to ask the hyung line, especially Taeyong who wants to pamper Jaehyun-ie. Jungwoo, however, is the number one neo who helps JaeDo with cover ups. The cucumber challenge, the roommates lore, DoWoo and JaeWoo on a date, hyping DoTae as a married couple, etc - Jungwoo is ready to help.

When Jungwoo joined, it wasn't only Doyoung who helped Jungwoo. Jaehyun did it less, but he tried (he bothered because he is Do's vice, he pays attention to those to whom Do pays attention first). Jack&Rose helped Woo's popularity very well. DoJaeJung had a lot of joined photosets and joined content. The popular members attracted attention to the newcomer. Their welcoming of him and praise helped fans to like him as well.

"Sabujak brothers" name was invented by fans, but it was Doyoung who turned it into a brand. Not all neos advertise their good relationship (Taeil andTaeyong (2Tae as they call themselves), for example, or Taeil and Yuta the forever roommates (the married couple of 30 years as neos call them)).

Yes, Doyoung isn't ready to send support to Jaehyun solo yet. But you can't deny his wittiness and effectiveness. With one truck he: 1) told Jaehyun "you are one and only", 2) showed what a great attentive friend Jungwoo is, 3) showed how loved Jaehyun is by other members (a food truck from all neos the first time, a food truck from two neos the second time), 4) strenghtened Sabujak and DoJaeJung brands.

As MCs DoWoo don't work well together, Jaehyun can't really do fanservice with Jungwoo, Jungwoo gets irritated with both, but in the eyes of the fans they make a great unit.

Fans don't ask for TaeDoHyuk, despite both hyungs spoiling the maknae with expensive gifts (ipad, sneakers) and Hyuk cooking for the hyungs and playing video-games with Tae. 2Dongs tell they are brothers and many still believe they really dislike each other because they routinely bicker on camera. 2Dongs is about frenemies, it's not sweet Sabujak.

PARALLAX – Madness from the Internet

„I was the Incarnation of their worst nightmare!“ - An interview with Jeffrey Combs

Before the interview starts, they introduce the latest movie Jeff was in back then, which is Parallax aka FearDotCom (almost the complete first column describes the Plot). Parts of it where shot in Luxembourg, which is also the Place where the interviewer meets Mr. Combs.

They meet in front of the Inter-Continental Hotel. Mr. Combs is PISSED, because the breakfast in the Hotel was awful (slimy fried egg) and the staff was rude (someone came in his room without knocking or apologizing, while he was sitting on his bed, only wearing a T-Shirt and Shorts).

They walk into the City of Luxembourg and Jeff's wondering about the many colourful life-sized cow sculptures, that you can find everywhere in town (quote: „Is this supposed to be art?!“).

He's searching for a souvenir for his wife, but in in his opinion, all of the dresses are outdated and their colours terrible. The interviewer teaches him the very important rule „Grün und Blau schmückt die Sau“.

They decide to eat in a Burger Restaurant called „Maybe not Bob's“, where he orders chicken wings with french fries and a coke (quote: „like a real American“).

Jeff speaks about the results of his genealogical research: Originally, his family came from Devon in England, but settled 1619 in Jamestown (Virginia) to work for Virginian Tobacco Co.

1. Question: The first question is about the renaming of FearDotCom to Parallax (reason being uncertainty about who owns the name). It follows more describing of the movie’s plot, this time from Mr. Combs himself.

His friend Bill Malone directed Parallax/FDC and offered Jeff the role, because they already worked together in Haunted Hill and Perversions of Science.

2. Question: You got along so well with Peter Jackson while filming The Frighteners. Will you at least get a Cameo in Lord of the Rings, even if it's only as Orc Nr. 260?

JC: That's the one Orc, that survived, right? (laughs). Nah seriously, I didn't get a role, unfortunately. I auditioned, , but the problem was the british accent. I can imitate it, but when you're surrounded by actors like Ian McKellen and Ian Holm, it's really not hard to tell who's a „real Briton“ and who's not.

3. Question: Did your latest movie before Parallax/FDT – The Attic Expeditions – had it's premiere in America yet?

JC: No, not yet. The world premiere was a couple of weeks ago here in Luxembourg and it was also shown on Festivals in Edinburgh and Amsterdam. Sadly, they didn't show it on the film festival in Brussel.

I'm really enthused by The attic Expeditions, because it's interesting, not linear, not logical, with few horror elements, but the horror is mostly psychological. It's like a dream in a nightmare on a trip. The longer you watch the movie, the less you know, what's real, it's a really complex movie, especially by american standards.

4. Question: In retrospect, would you call your role as Herbert West a curse?

JC: (sighs) Somehow, it's a curse and a blessing at the same time. Thanks to the role, I was branded as „Horror actor“ in Hollywood. After Deep Space Nine I was branded as „Horror- and Sci Fi- actor“. Movie people love to categorize you. On the other hand, the role of Herbert West opened up a lot of possibilities for me.

5. Question: 10 Years ago you told a funny story at a convention in New York, about sth. that happened while filming From Beyond. Could you maybe tell it again for the Moviestar readers?

JC: You mean the one with the children?

MS: Exactly!

JC: (grins) Well, we were already filming for a month – so I've been in this horrible make-up for 30 days already, with this awful head piece that looked like a red dog dick. I looked worse than Quasimodo! That's why I ate mostly in my dressing room. One day, they shot a commercial with a bunch of 4-year-old children in mushroom costumes on the same soundstage. We met in the hallway and as soon as those poor, innocent children saw me, all hell has broken loose. I was the incarnation of their worst nightmare, they screamed and ran to their mothers, who wanted to lynch me on the spot. So now it was me, who ran away.

But that's how it is, when you have a lot to do with make-up and masks and stuff like this. Not long ago, I was strapped to a cross made out of tubes, my throat was „cut“, there was blood all over me. And sometimes, when you're hanging there long enough, the crew just forgets that you're there, because for them, you just turned into a part of the set. Until you give a signal: „Umm sorry, guys, could you..maybe..“ - „Oh yeah sure, sorry Jeff, sorry..“

6. Question: (you might already know this one from this post): After that scene in From Beyond, in which you get eaten by this worm, your chest is as smooth as that of a baby – did they shave off your chest fur?

Jeff: Yes! (laughs)

MS: Did you do it yourself?

Jeff: Yes and I learnt something very important: Never use a normal razor blade, an electric razor is way better and safer and it doesn’t itch as badly, when the hair grows back. I had to shave my chest for a theater role once as well. I was 26 or so and played an 18-year-old.

7. Question: Do you still play in theatres regulary?

JC: No, not in the past couple of years, though theatre is very dear to my heart. Back in the days, I loved to play in theatres – living like a gypsy, 8 weeks in San Diego, and somewhere else afterwards. But that's not how I want to live today, now that I have a family. I don't like to leave my two little girls for several weeks, plus an engagement in a theatre isn't really helpful financially. I earn the same money in 1 week of shooting a movie as I do in 4-5 months of theatre work.

8. Question: I read that Woody Allen pays every actor 5.000 Dollar, because in his opinion, no one is worth 20 Million Dollar, neither beginner nor Superstar. What do you think about the explosive growth of fees nowadays?

JC: I do think that you should take the money, that the market offers you. But somebody, who earns 20 Millions per movie should share at least a million with their not so lucky co-actors. No, seriously, it's not that easy to make a living. A friend of mine got a job, where he plays the brother of Kevin Costner. When I asked him, if he gets payed well, he shook his head and said, that he only gets tariff plus 10%. Tariff is the lowest wage possible, that was defined by union. My friend had the choice to either work with Costner or don't. And as an actor you always hope that a movie like this becomes a success and maybe improves your chances in Hollywood.

Anyway, this entire thing is going to be something you need to read warnings, tags, and summaries in advanced because everything here will be angst. GOD. (I am okay if you’re wondering :’)) This is my #1 favorite angst fic of all time and if you are okay mentally and have read the tags and warnings and are fine with them, then please read it. There was a sequel and when I saw that it took me another week to read it cause I was like,,, am I ready to have my heart break again? No LOL. But the sequel is actually not as angst, so if you want like a semi-broken whatever, just read the sequel LOL. It’s so sad and it made me physically hurt every time someone even mentioned mugs afterwards (LOL why am I so dramatic but it’s the truth :///). Go ahead and hurt with me.

Honestly, it’s more a trauma fic than an angst fic idk I just wanted to put it somewhere because it’s written super well and although it was technically a ‘happy ending’ the interviews after prove else. How To Be A Kick-Ass Brother: A Guide by Miya Atsumu by Egosdelirium (E) 25k /SakuAtsu + SunaOsa/ what personal vendetta do I have against Osamu? Nothing, literally nothing he just happens to always suffer in the fics I choose oops. This fic is one I really like, and it portrays the close outsider’s perspective on a horrific event really well. I was iffy on putting this in because it’s not really the angst type I was going for (more death less trauma?) but I really liked this fic, and while I was making my end note, I kept thinking about it so yea. Atsumu best boy. (PLEASE READ THE TAGS, THERE ARE SENSITIVE TOPICS!!!!)

You might be thinking, done already? Wellllllll there were a lot of fics where I decided against putting them on (cause I felt like it didn’t really match what I wanted to be recommending but idk what the theme was LOL oops but yea I would look at a fic and think well it is angst but not the right TYPE of angst y’know?) and I really hate reading angst (there’s a lot of days where I shouldn’t cause my mental health said no thanks LOL). Also I wanted like FULL angst fics, but most of them have like happy endings (which made some of these iffy and is good but also it wasn’t what I wanted to put :////) So yes, I may add to this post (we’ll see) but like it’ll depend on whether I can convince myself that reading angst at 4 am is a good idea LOL. alfjd. Yes, yes I can. I have... far too many bookmarked on AO3 but I will share some of my very favorite ones. I’ll do so under the cut so that it doesn’t take up a bunch of space on peoples’ dashes. There will be fics for SOTUS, Tharntype, UWMA, and The Untamed. These are not in ranking order, but they’re numbered so you know when I’ve stopped talking about the previous one.

1. Fear Not to Touch by Mara

Fandom: TOL Pairing: Untwo Rating: T Words: 1386 Status: Complete

Two discovers that happy endings are a lot more complicated than the movies portray. They involve a lot of talking and compromise and a lot less sex than he expected.

Maybe I’m a little biased with this one because it was written for me and one of my favorite people on AO3 after a discussion we had about sexualities, but this is just so good alfjdalfj. Ace!Un getting together with Two. It’s beautiful.

2. Another Flowerboy by Morathi_Cain

Fandom: ME Pairing: Bohn/First Rating: M Words: 10975 Status: Complete

After yet another fight, Bohn goes to First's shop to get flowers to apologise. Since he doesn't know much about flowers, First (Frong's brother and also former "rival") offers him some advice. Bohn takes it. It may not be the help he wanted, but it's definitely the help he needed!

Look. This is one of those pairings that I didn’t know I needed until I read this fic. Now I love it so much. There’s several sequels to this one, too, with the continuing development of Bohn’s relationship with First and I just love all of them.

3. Get Loud by perthbysaint

Fandom: ME Pairing: RamKing Rating: E Words: 5689 Status: Complete

Or: Boss makes a comment on how the louder your partner is in bed, the better they're feeling. King is determined to make his quiet boyfriend make some noise for once or die trying.

Just gonna give the last bit of the summery here, but this fic is very very good. I want to say more but I don’t want to give any of it away. It’s just really worth the read.

4. I'll Try Every Way by EmisFritish

Fandom: 2gether Pairing: Sarawatine Rating: G Words: 6,804 Status: Complete

Five times Tine could only show he cared through different gestures, and the one time he didn’t need to.

Let me yell about the ways I love this couple. This fic is just a beautiful study in their relationship and how Tine struggles with the whole saying what he’s feeling thing but trying to show it anyway and I just afldja. It’s beautiful.

5. The Light That Fails to Dim by glowingreverie

Fandom: The Untamed/MDZS Pairing: Wangxian Rating: T Words: 310880 Status: Complete

Wei Ying lost his parents in a night hunt. Cold and alone, he wandered the streets of Yiling for nearly two years. However, one fateful night, a tall, scary man finds him and takes him back to a place he calls Qinghe. Later Wei Ying, now known as Wei Wuxian, discovers that that tall, scary man is not bad at all. And his cowardly brother makes an even better friend than he initially thought he would. With a content feeling in his chest every day, Wei Wuxian can only hope these peaceful, happy days with his new family will last until the end of time.

Or, in which Jiang Fengmian is unaware of what happened to Wei Wuxian's parents and Nie Mingjue takes him in and the story continues from there...

This is a monster of a fic in sheer size alone, but it’s sooooooo worth the read, imo. It’s so good and a nice take on what might be different just from the little change. I’ve read this one at least two times in its entirety since I found it.

6. plant a little happiness (let the roots run deep) by fleurdeliser

Fandom: The Untamed/MDZS Pairing: Wangxian Rating: E Words: 47638 Status: Complete

After thirteen years away, Dr. Wei Wuxian is back in Gusu. A car accident near his apartment brings someone unexpected back into his life and everything changes for the better.

As you all know by now, I am weak for the found family trope and this fic is just alfjaldjf. The feels are strong in this one. It made me cry a couple of times, not even going to lie.

7. 5 Times Forth Was Very Sweet and 1 Time Beam Returned The Favor by heartsdesire456

Fandom: 2Moons Pairing: ForthBeam Rating: NR Words: 3937 Status: Complete

Though Forth was a good friend and Beam had known him for a while now, he never really expected vibrant, teasing Forth to end up being such a sweet boyfriend. He was used to a cocky guy who knew he was hot shit and showed off because of it, and a transient yet loyal friend who showed up when it mattered, not someone who did things that were sweet and innocent for anybody.

Perhaps, Beam realized, he hadn’t really known this side of Forth because Forth reserved it only for the person he was dating.

This fic is probably one of my favorite ForthBeam fics ever. Its a fun, cute and sweet read.

8. domestic by earthfluuke

Fandom: TOL Pairing: KhaiThird Rating: G Words: 4407 Status: Complete

“They’re,” Too lowered his voice to a hiss, “domesticated."

A look into Kai and Third's life after they finally move in together.

Just a cute TOL fic that I haven’t forgotten since I read it. Of course I’d have to have one with them in it.

And that’s all I’ve got for now. Apparently I fail and haven’t bookmarked any of the fics I’ve read recently. I need to go through my history soon. Anyway! These are fics that I absolutely love to read.

1. Does your oc have any secrets? Whats their biggest one?

Ans: Violcrik hides quite a few secrets, but none as severe as hiding her true allegiance to the Sith Empire, answering to Darth Xarion and NR-O2, and indirectly, Empress Acina. As far as the Republic is concerned, they still believe their war hero is loyal to them which isn't the case. Violcrik is doing everything she can to hide this secret from her Republic allies, most importantly from her friends who are loyal to the Republic like Doc, T7, Rusk, and especially Kira. Kira being her girlfriend and mostly her anchor, if she were to find out Violcrik's allegiance, Kira leaving would destroy the fallen Jedi.

Yes, helping your enemy and sabotaging your own allies from within is an active act of treason and betrayal.

2. Does your oc have any embarrassing memories?

Ans: Violcrik and Kira caught Lana like a deer in headlights when she saw them making out on a speeder Violcrik was tinkering. Don't worry, they didn't get that far, but suffice to say, she was a bit traumatised after seeing that side of the Commander. Or embarrassed considering Yavin IV, which shall remain what happened on Yavin, stays on Yavin (no, I will not expand any further).

4. Are there any secrets your oc has shared with other characters? If so, who, and what secrets?

Ans: Violcrik was never really open about her past. She was born and raised on Alderaan in an abusive household that called her birth a mistake. She was an illegitimate child, never truly opened up about her trauma to surviving the Sacking of Courscant. Her biggest secret before becoming a saboteur was her life in gangland crime. Violcrik was ashamed of her time being a part of Black Sun. The only few people she shared this with were T7, Kira, Doc, Rusk, and Scourge, followed by Lana.

Theron only knows because he did some digging of his own going through some old SIS files on her because as a teenager, Violcrik was listed as Republic and SIS Most Wanted and had a last resort Kill on Sight order. Theron decided not to confront Violcrik about her assassinating an SIS Agent during her Black Sun days. It ironically shows though Violcrik would rather open up to Lana more than talk to Theron, she also opened up more to Kira, T7, and Scourge. She was sort of pushing away Doc and Rusk, even Theron felt as time went on, he was being pushed to the side as well.

The Episode of Lost Opportunities AKA 2x16

SO I wrote this before watching the promo, then I did and now I know most of us are just FREAKING out about next week (and I’m freaking out the most because ummm they’remakingmyfanficintoanactual EPISODE!!! How does one deal with this????) but if you want a break from freaking out, here are some thoughts on last night’s episode!

So even though 2x16 was perfectly enjoyable, I’m going to have to officially re-name it “The Episode of Lost Opportunities” because there were so many plots and just tid-bits they could have done great things with.

So yeah not really a review today, instead I’m going to (in true Jenny Nicholson fashion) make a numbered list of things I think they should have added /done something with, in no particular order.

Miss nr. 1. Not having Higgy tease Magnum back with British pet names. I’m honestly devastated by this. Like what would a little sarcastic “come on luv” or a “Dearie, come here” from Juliet have cost them? The closest we got was Babe take our selfie.

Nr. 2. Not having Mr. Dorky Helpful But Cute guy ask Higgy out. I really thought this was where it was going with him being all “it’s just our second date, we met online” and yeah even though he looked about 12, it would have fit the episode.

Plus they could have had Magnum standing to the side gesturing like “go for it” and her either saying yes or no and later her and Magnum having a little chat about it. The Yes with him being all “I convinced you to do it” proud and also mildly jealous. The No, with her being all “he’s a suspect” or “he went on a love bus tour!” or “I’m not ready, bc of the dead fiance, remember him?”

Nr. 3. Which takes us neatly to - drowned guy should be bringing up some feelings for Juliet as I’m fairly certain back in Day of The Viper they mention something about how Richard washed up on the shores of something-something (I mean obvs he was shot before but I’d still imagine some associations there).

Also her own almost drowning in 1x19 (even if this episode’s dude wasn’t drowned, it did seem so at first and he was still in the water). I just feel maybe there could have been some feelings here that our favorite duo actually talked about. Just a nice little call back to either one of those would have been great. One line! Is that too much to ask for?

Nr. 4 on the list of missed opportunities is for me going to be Theresa (Teresa?). TC’s old flame. And this is a big one!

I honestly would have loved it if they went with this - as in have him not be so damned noble and let the childhood sweetheart go. Like, why not have them actually try to make a go at it?

Maybe she could have been there with just her boyfriend rather than husband to make it less of a thing and then maybe give it an episode or two and have them talk over the internet before she comes back and they get back together! Because why can’t anyone have a girlfriend? Like why do all of the guys need to be such lone wolves?

I mean, I get it, because they are a family/brothers, but having even just one more minor female recurring would be interesting and would add dimension to the gang and characters!

Now this is like one of those random side plots that don’t really do much because in the end nothing has changed. Other than us learning a little more about TC, which is nice, but it doesn't seem like it will actually impact future episodes and didn’t really connect a whole lot with the episode. TC is just off getting closure to a relationship we never knew he needed closure for. Which means we’re not super invested.

I feel like this is a bit of a problem with the show in general. We get really nice and moving and character developing stuff for characters we haven’t been shown to need, as with Kumu last week and now TC. Rick and his dying “dad” Ice-Pick and even Shammie with his lying army buddy. Even Gordon and his son. Jin and his sisters and that’s why he steals.

These things could all have had 100 times more impact if they’d established these problems/ relationships earlier. Like if we had learned Kumu's husband had cheated on her and had a child with another woman (or maybe that Kumu is a bit sad she never had kids on her own) sometime before - over the past 30 episodes, wouldn’t last week’s episode, where she finally reaches out to the husband’s kid, would have been so much more emotionally satisfying?

Same if Theresa had been mentioned as TC’s great love and maybe him being sad some episodes ago (or even back in 1x19 when his dad doesn't come to visit - that could have been about him seeing a post about her getting married and him being upset about it and connecting with Rick about that.)

Like I get that maybe sometimes they just throw random things in there but at the same time why do they need to do that? Want to do that? Isn’t there someone keeping track of the big picture? Giving characters long running story arcs over a season or even multiple ones should be someone’s job.

If it’s not, I volunteer!

Seriously Lenkov I’m currently unemployed and totally up for it, just give me a call! I already know we think the same... (Marriage of Inconvenience).

Nr. 5 Not having Gordon comment something on the fact that he’s been called to a murder scene on a Island Love tour bus site by his favorite PI duo. Like yeah they’d have told him why they were there but he still should have teased them about it! Like “What were you two doing here anyways? Something going on?” and both of them giving a horrified “NO!”.

Nr. 6 when the guy says “is he crazy?” after Magnum jumped into the waterfall pool thing, not having Higgy be all “Yes, he is”, then jumping in after him, was a huge miss. That would have been so funny and shown how much alike they are (even if Higgy will always be the sane one...)

Nr. 7. Not having Magnum and Higgins try to pretend to be together when the bus driver catches them. I mean come on! At least some more hand holding! Snuggling? I’m not saying to just kiss already okay maybe I am saying that.

Nr. 8. Not one real Miggy moment in this episode? I mean lots of bickering and maybe for a moment with her being all “well done” when he tells the cheating a-hole he’s an idiot for having an affair. And if the camera had stayed on him for a few seconds more when they’re toasting at the end we know we’d have gotten a Mangum looks had Higgy soft heart eyes moment. But we didn’t. But other than that, not really much feel-y moments even if we got plenty of cute stuff.

Nr. 9. Sandy and how they find out Sandy is the killer! Like what? She cut the bus’s fuel line which makes no sense, she’d wouldn’t want to trap herself right? Sandy if you’d just not cut the fuel line and stayed with the group, you’d have been taken back to civilization and no one would have figured you out! Or you should have left right away on car/4-wheeler you must have prepared for escape, not stayed around! You could have left down long before the cops got there or the autopsy revealed anything. Same for why does she give her knife to her date? Why not just throw the knife away? She’s in the jungle, big chance it will be found. Not.

And why kill someone in the middle of nowhere, making yourself one of the, like, 8 suspects? Like come on girl, for a hit woman you’re not that clever. Also if you had a gun, why strangle a guy 2x your size? That’s not a smart plan either. Just get a silencer and shoot the guy when he’s on his morning jog back in the city or something! I feel like the only reason they had her be the baddie was so Magnum/ Higgins could say “Shot through the heart” // “How is that for poetic” all dramatically after Gordon took her down.

Problem nr. 10. Tied in with this I just think Sandy as the killer should have not happened.

In fact, I think having the sweet loving wife as the killer would have been wonderful.

It would have been a much better twist! Dead guy could have been poisoned (traditional how wive’s kill their husbands… just saying) and then he fell off the cliff. They could surely have found some weird clue to that, like maybe his throat is all swollen and stuff to make them think foul play and then when they’re moving the body towards the end, Magnum realizes it’s poison.

But Higgy stayed back with the ‘grieving’ asthmatic widow and oh no! Must rush back to save my one true love platonic partner.

We could have had some sort emotional moment where the Wife got Higgy with a knife at her throat and is all “He was supposed to be my best friend, my partner, my everything and he did X” and Magnum being all “Well that woman you’re holding a knife to is my (best) friend, my partner and she didn’t do anything so please put the knife down!” Or something.

I mean I know that sounds like I’m off in Miggy fanfiction land but honestly I think they could have made it work (this is hilarious when re-reading after watching next weeks trailer). She could have teased him about the best friend bit but then she could have been all soft, “Thomas. Thank you. I’m glad you're my friend.” And the episode could have ended with how love just never seems to end well for anyone which would have been way more on theme for the vibes in this episode (and frankly whole show because no one gets to have a romantic relationship for more than, like, 3 episodes).

Nr. 11. Higgins hair. Not putting it in the fluffy “Blood In the Water” style was a big miss because that hair made her look so freaking adorable. Just saying. I mean both my babies are always adorable I just love the poofy fluff hair from that ep!

Anyways, those were my 11 missed opportunities for episode sixteen!

My fave bits were Magnum and Higgins fake couple thing at the start. Magnum being all like “While we’re up here we might as well take a selfie!” and then when talking to the old couple his, *I’m just gonna keep my hand here, on your waist! I’m real smooth* move.

I enjoyed the fast action pack-ed-ness of the whole ep and the pretty Hawaii scenery we got. The more I watch Magnum PI the more I want to visit Hawaii (one day when there is no Corona, I’m much richer and 20h airplane rides are suddenly comfortable, I will!) and just enjoying all the amazing natural beauty and stuff.

The Rick and TC’s interactions were also highlights, I loved the whole “just pretend to walk by”. Like so middle-school yet so relatable because who hasn’t done that when we’re like, is that Lisa from second grade? And just we walked down the cat food aisle perusing cat food (when we most def. don’t have a cat), just to check if it is indeed Lisa.

Also this made me crack up so hard.

Magnum: Muffin?

Higgy: Could you please not refer to me as a breakfast pastry.

That’s just so on point for Higgy I can’t even!

Heat in the rain pt. 8 Christmas at the burrow

(What a very un-christmassy Christmas chapter! I hope it’s alright that I focused more on the people rather than the activities, after all, there’s a lot of people to keep track of; I actually often wonder how the Weasley’s get through Christmas with the enormous amount of people the family would consist of today lol - hope you enjoy xxx)

Description: Reader and the twins go home to the burrow for Christmas and get to catch up with most of the Weasley family. Reader has a serious talk with Harry in the kitchen, as one does.

Christmas rolled around quickly, the days of December flying past in a haze of coloured lights, snow and too many cookies. Upon the 23rd, you and the twins set off to the burrow, apparating there.

A brief moment of feeling like you were being pulled and squeezed in possibly every direction at once and then a thud. The cold air outside the burrow filled your lungs, your hands holding your bag, the twins had appeared beside you roughly at the same time, both looked happy to be home and you would be lying if you said you weren’t happy to be seeing the burrow’s fantastically crooked frame, you’d spent several summer holidays here, every single one being part of the happiest moments in your life thus far.

The door opened as you and the twins neared the house, Molly appearing in the door, opening her arms wide as she went to greet you happily,

“Hello dears, so good to see you!” She said as she hugged the twins, moving on to you,

“Oh Y/n,” She said, her voice full of empathy, “It’s so good to have you here!” She embraced you in hug tight enough to choke you but you didn’t mind, you’d missed her motherly presence.

“Molly, please, she’s turning blue!” Arthur laughed as Molly let go stepping aside so that Arthur could welcome you as well,

“Let’s get your stuff upstairs,” said Molly as the three of you hung up your coats, “Y/n you’ll be sleeping in the twins’ room,” She explained as she led you through the house and up the stairs to the second floor where the twins’ old room was located, next to Percy’s where him and Charlie would be staying, she explained that Bill and Fleur were staying in Bill’s old room, Ginny and Harry in Ginny’s, Hermione and Ron in Ron’s,

“Thank goodness for romance,” Molly chuckled, “without it we’d be completely overbooked,” there was a twinkle in her eyes as she mentioned romance, her eyes drifting over you and George who seemed to look anywhere other than at each other,

“But come downstairs and say hello to everyone else, I have to get started on dinner,” Molly chuckled, you followed her downstairs, the twins behind you.

In the kitchen Bill, Fleur, Charlie, Arthur and Percy were standing in the living room, chatting and laughing with each other. Bill had his arm comfortable wrapped around Fleur who was talking to Charlie who was pointing to a new scar on his right wrist, Arthur and Percy laughed about something work-related.

You went round receiving hugs and exchanging hellos before sitting down on one of the sofas with the twins who excitedly asked Charlie about his scar,

“Got it from our newest addition, an antipodean opaleye, beautiful but extremely temperamental, she’s a real teenager,” Charlie explained with a snicker, his arm stretched out so that you and the twins could see the burn scar, “we’re watching her until we can move her to another sanctuary in New Zealand,”

“Why can’t you move ‘er now?” Asked Fleur, you noticed how much her accent had improved since last time you’d spoken to her, “Well she’s still a bit too young for travelling far,” Charlie said, “We’d like to wait until she’s a bit older, and has gained a little weight, she was in an awful state when we got her,” He said, rubbing the scar reminiscently,

“Another smuggler?” Percy asked. Charlie nodded, “That’s what we suspect anyways, we can��t be sure as she was apparently abandoned but then again that’s not uncommon for smugglers,”

Percy gave a nod of understanding,

“I didn’t know the department of magical transport dealt with smugglers?” Fred asked,

“Yeah, shouldn’t that be Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures’ job?” George added,

“Well it’s more of a cooperative job,” Percy explained, “since magical law enforcement catches them, but they’re typically using magical transportation and finally smuggling various magical creatures, meaning the paperwork is shared between all three departments,” Percy looked tired at the thought of the paperwork, which you didn’t question, he had a history with working tirelessly with his previous job at the ministry, though thankfully, he’d become a lot more grounded and even nice again after the war, much to the joy of the remaining Weasley family.

“We’re trying to work with the other two departments on finding a way to stop smuggling for good but naturally that’s turning out to be easier said than done,” Percy said, running a hand through his hair,

“You know, the muggles have an interesting contraption for catching smuggled goods,” said Arthur, “I believe it’s called a metal-detector,”

“Unless they’re smuggling a niffler, that’d hardly be helpful,” Percy said,

“Yes, but see they also have a way of tagging wild animals in order to track them, I read it in one of the books Hermione borrowed me,” Arthur explained, excitement over the chance to talk about his biggest passion shining through on his aged, kind face, “so, say if you started tagging wild dragons, of course not in way that would harm them,” Arthur said defensively as Charlie looked alarmed, “but with this little tag, you could build a metal detector of sorts, similar to the spell detectors we already have and use and catch the smuggled dragons that way,” Arthur sat back, pleased with his offer. Percy looked at his father, seemingly impressed,

“That’s not all that bad,” he admitted, “of course it would still be difficult in terms of the smuggling of eggs, but it’s a start, thanks, dad.” He said, clapping his father appreciatively on the shoulder,

“No problem, Perce, it’s good to know this old brain can still be put to use,” Arthur answered with a small wink in the direction of you and the twins, causing the three of you to giggle a little.

The conversation between the Weasleys was interrupted by the sound of the door and soon Harry, Hermione, Ron and Ginny appeared in the entrance. Arthur stood up and walked to the entrance but the rest of you held back, letting them receive their hugs and welcomings from Molly first. She seemed even more keen to reassure Harry as she said hello, holding onto him for an almost extreme amount of time as, even after hugging him, her hands remained on his shoulders as she told him how happy she was to see him. Harry had been a bit timid after the war, you supposed it was the survivors’ guilt which you’d all felt immediately after the war but it was no wonder that Harry had been brought down most of all by the deaths of allies and schoolmates. He’d taken to keeping to himself for a little until Ginny, Hermione and Ron decided to burst his bubble in which he’d kept himself under the illusion of ‘protecting others’ and ‘not causing any more harm’. He seemed to be doing better now, however, as he and the gang had decided to try and renovate nr.12 Grimmauld place to fit Harry a bit better, and because of this, you noticed, they all looked a little worn in the way that people do after doing physical work for an extended period of time though nonetheless happy.

As it became your turn to say hello to them, you noticed how Harry avoided your eyes at first, and at first you questioned this, then you remembered your parents; Harry had explicitly said during the war that he wanted as few people to suffer because of him as possible, so when random civilians with a past connection to the first wizarding war, people like your own parents, were killed he’d felt miserable, you suspected he’d heard of your parents. You made sure to tell him how good it was to see him again, hoping it would soften him up.

After dinner people settled in various places, Ron, Hermione and Harry were talking to Bill and Fleur, Ginny had sat down with Charlie who was recounting how he’d gotten his newest scar again, Arthur and - a mildly horrified - Molly sitting next to them. This left you and the twins who were discussing business with Percy, you four had stayed in the kitchen but after mentioning a prototype they were working on, Fred and George went to collect their plans for it, wanting to show Percy who’d followed them thus leaving you alone in the kitchen (after George had asked if you wanted to come and see as well, of course, though you’d turned him down on the grounds that you’d already seen the prototypes)

You stood up to get some water and when you turned around you met the easily recognisable, brilliant green eyes belonging to Harry who was standing in the entrance to the kitchen,

“Uhm...hi,” he said,

“Hi?” You replied, lifting an eyebrow, Harry took a hesitant step forward,

“Y/n I’m really sorry about your parents,” he said, looking down. You were a little shocked that he was so forward about it. You didn’t really know what to say, something about the way he looked so unsure himself made you step towards him as well. It was strange how much he sometimes still resembled the young boy who’d come out of the maze in the Triwizard tournament, scarred and shocked, you figured that moment would have been the beginning of his insecurity, if it hadn’t started before because what kind of child could possibly bear the pressure of being named ‘the chosen one’ at such an early age?

“Harry it’s alright, really,” You said, “I mean it’s sad-”

“I wish I could change it,” He said quietly, “all those people, dead because of me,”

“Not because of you,” You cut him off, “because of the war, almost all those people chose to fight, they chose to stand with you and they knew what the risks were when they did, we all did, you didn’t lie to us when you warned us it was dangerous, we already knew, so really it’s not your fault,”

“your parents…” Harry interjected,

“My parents didn’t get to chose this time, but they in the last war and that’s why they were targeted, because they had entered the first war, just as willing to die for the cause as we were when we fought, not because we were foolish or delusional but because it was what was right, and they felt the same when they made the choices they did, when they were targeted they knew that they had their past to blame, not you, Harry,” You took a deep breath, he looked taken aback by your ramblings but you had a lot to say, you knew he was guilty but this wasn’t something you wanted on his conscience,

“Harry,” You said, taking his hand, “you wanna know how I know you’re not to blame?” you asked and without letting him answer you continued, “because you’re a good person, Harry, everyone knows that you would never want anyone to get hurt, so of course none of us blame you, me included, because we know it was out of your control and that if you could have your choice, then there wouldn’t have been a war in the first place,” you gave him a reassuring smile, which he returned hesitantly,

“Y/n,” He said, tears brimming his eyes, he swallowed hard, “Don’t worry about it,” you said quietly, squeezing his hand as a lump in your throat prevented you from speaking further.

Adovusala: Complete Language Guide

The Canine Republics speak the Common Tongue like almost everyone else in the world since what’s generally referred to as The Great Connection. That said, the Sky Kingdoms didn’t just dedicate themselves to the rebuilding and relearning of their old tongue but also the tongues of the other groups around them. When this was discovered, the alphas and lunas of the packs found themselves deeply interested and worked alongside them to rebuild their tongue.

Working from the few bits that remained in the form of honorifics, they were mostly successful in recreating the language from scratch.

This left Adovusala only spoken by the alphas and lunas of the packs for a decent while before the information was shared with the Howlers of the packs. It’s a great privilege for anyone to speak the tongue and to have the tongue spoken to.

Part 3: The Animacy System of Adovusala

Adovusala has an animacy based noun class system like its close relative in Jhikomala. Unlike that one, this one divided along the lines of their gods with each Howl being the patron and creator of a specific set of beings.

Class 1 - Atella - The Sun, Fire, Daytime and Boldness

Class 2 - Iren - The Moon, Sapient Creatures and Creativity

Class 3 - Mywel - Water, Aquatic Creatures and

Class 4 - Canta - Plants, Flowers, Land Creatures and Endurance

Class 5 - Iseca - The Stars, Spirits, Breathe, Souls, Music and Wisdom

These five classes demand agreement from their adjectives and numerals. Whatever word they’re describing takes on the appropriate ending.

The numeral and adjective agreement is;

Class 1 - (u)ma

Class 2 - (a)re

Class 3 - (i)la

Class 4 - (e)ha

Class 5 - (o)ca

Examples:

Ge lato narama - The brave fire G’adovu narare - The brave dog Ge tula naraha - The brave bird Ge nanta narala - The brave tree Ge sana naraca - The brave star

Part 4: Grammatical Number

Adovusala is - much to the relief of learns - very simple in the plurals department with only a simple singular vs. plural divide. In their language, the primary difference is when there’s only one of a thing or many things. The singular is typically left unmarked - adovu while plural nouns are marked with -(u)l such as in adovul.

Part 5: Tense and Aspect

Adovusala has four primary aspects that are paired with their four tenses. The aspects are the perfective, continuous, habitual and resumptive while the four tenses are the past, recent past, present and future tenses.

Part 6: Mood

Being a culture built upon hierarchies and roles, Adovusala has an imperative mood meant for conveying commands and orders.

Salav doric - speak pup! Salav idoric - speak whelp!

-av is the modifier used for the commands given and is considered extremely rude and deeply overstepping to use on just anyone. Squad Captains and the ranks above them are the only ones allowed to use this mood on others - and even then, it’s mostly used explicitly when orders and commands are being laid out.

As for the lower ranks;

Salacc inatuc - speak captain

They must use this request based marker - it shows that they respect their superior even as they give a command.

Part 7: Honorific System

The most notable part of Adovusala is that instead of a simple system of pronouns like many other languages of strelles, Adovusala has a series of rank and age based honorifics that speakers adhere to when communicating with others.

Though everyone has a place in the pack and all creatures have a place in the world, it’s generally understood that some positions are inherently more prestigious than others. Even when the language had first fallen pre-Connection, the system of honorifics stuck around due to the sheer stubborn and ingrained sense of respect that comes with the titles.

To the relief of those already worried about trying to memorize all of these pronouns, the possessives are much simpler. Instead, they’re combined into whether the cat you’re referring to is of a higher or lower rank than you are;

As you can see rank in relation to themselves is the most important part of speaking Adovusala.

Part 8: Articles and Demonstratives

Adovusala has both definite and indefinite articles that are fairly straight forward. Thankfully for most who learn, the noun classes don’t alter the articles used.

Ge is the definite article and works like this;

Ge doric - the pup E doric - a pup

The interesting bit about ‘ge’ however is that when the word it’s modifying begins with a vowel, the -e drops off and it gloms itself onto the beginning like so;

G’inatuc - the captain G’adovul - the dog G’iru - the moon

The indefinite article is Va and it works similar to ge in relation to words that begin with vowels;

V’inatuc - a captain V’adovul - a dog Va doric - a pup

Kuro nods approvingly. “Basically, yeah. There’s a bit more to it than that—shadow magic is born of independence, of isolation and loneliness. Light magic is connections, the relationships between people. Most people have a low dose of both, go through their entire lives not realizing there’s magic in the world.”

“But not you,” Kenma prompts.

“Unfortunately.”
