What are your top 10 favourite characters from FE Echoes? It can either be from Alm or Celica’s party. But both can be acceptable.

Ooooh, that one will be fun. I’m hoping my list doesn’t go over the limit, but we’ll see.

So in no particular order:

Alm. Love his story, love his quest, love his STRUGGLES. He’s honestly probably my favorite FE “Noble” overall (and Dimitri is a close second) just for how compelling his arc is. His fight against his father Rudolf and his agony broke my heart. This kid has been through too much ;w;

Saber. We all know why. I kind of hate that I fell in love with him but I couldn’t help myself.

Luthier. Between him and Delthea, I ALWAYS used him, and shockingly he makes an incredible Dreadfighter. But also he’s an enjoyable character with his own flaws that make it hard for him to make friends. Also he’s a very beautiful man, lol. That fiery hair is pretty.

Berkut. Yes, he’s the villain but DAMN I think he’s one of the few villains in FEH who actually has a decent character besides “I am a cult leader therefore I am evil” or “I am a fallen god of some sort therefore I am evil”. Berkut has PERSONALITY! He has DIMENSION! He has an ARC! And a TRAGIC END! And honestly I want an Ascended Berkut in the vein of Legendary Sigurd/Deirdre where he’s a spirit, looking for his empire.

Rinea. I know she doesn’t do much but goodness, she’s such a sweetheart and shows that Rigelians aren’t all antagonistic assholes. Poor baby ;w;

Deen. I found him cooler than Sonya (sorry Sonya fans, I do like her a lot too) and he’s handsome. I’m weak for scars.

Jesse. He’s a flirt and a party boy, but I love his conversation with Celica where he reveals he ran away from his noble family because of the pressure. I really do think he’s kind of a prototype Sylvain and I hope he and Sylvain have a serious convo when he gets in FEH.

Leon. Talking about his character first and foremost, I love that he’s got a bit of a ‘tude, but he’s not unnecessarily mean or bitter to anyone. He sees the beauty of love in the world and I love that THAT is what he fights for when in his line against Duma. And I’ve said it before, but I think hands down he’s FE’s best LGBT rep.

Atlas. It’s a bit random, but I enjoyed his character being a simple woodcutter, but DAMN this man is capable of putting up a good fight. And he reminds me of Papa Nier with his appearance.

AUGH OK I HAVE TO MASH THESE TWO TOGETHER BECAUSE I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THEM BUT: PYTHON AND FORSYTHE. Love those guys, even if Python couldn’t shoot for absolute shit in my run. Forsythe is a sweetheart who believes in doing genuine good, and even if he’s lazy, I love that Python is so loyal to his best friend that he’ll always follow him.

I think that’s pretty much it, I do want to give a shout-out to Celica, Sonya, and Fernand because I think those guys are cool, too.

"It is a shame that Lady Celica had to leave so soon. Will Lord Alm be alright?" Rinea asked Berkut as they were having a little break from the paperwork. Well it was mostly Berkut working on paperwork that Alm needed his help while Rinea was sorting through records to file them. "I don't envy him. Alm does not get to see Celica as often as he would like. Sometimes it can be for a few months to the point where even I feel sorry for him." Berkut told Rinea as it made him a little bit less bitter about not being the crown prince anymore. "...You know I always wondered about something...Do you remember that day at duma temple? I was at the entrance and became very afraid to go up to you. Then you froze for a moment as if you were struck on the head before you grabbed my hand and rushed us out of the temple. Did...did you see the same vision I did back then?" Rinea asked as she was curious as Berkut never told her why he had a sudden change of heart. Berkut gave a sigh before taking Rinea's hand. "...Getting flooded with the memories of being in Askr you mean?...Yes I did..." Berkut told her honestly. "...I didn't want to lose you...and turn into that...horrid fallen version." Berkut had refused to make the mistake that his other self had done. "... I wish we could tell that version of Lord Alm that we are safe and thank him for everything he has done for us..." Rinea said sadly before Berkut pulled her into a much needed hug. "... I know but all we can do now is... help the Alm we have now..." Berkut said before comforting Rinea for a bit. If anyone came in to see the sight then they would all think the couple was getting stressed about their upcoming wedding...

"...and that's the whole story..." Josephine had just finished telling her parents and her older brother about Edith. She did made sure leave out the coup stuff as the less people knew about that the better until she reached Rigel Castle. She watched as her father sat on the sofa with her mother by his side. It was clear that her father was absolutely heart broken about it all. Not only to find out that Edith had been a Witch but that his own father lied to him about Edith being dead. "...I'm sorry you had to be the one to defeat her..." Her father said as he wished he could have taken that burden instead of his youngest child. The last shocking news he got from her was Josephine joining the Deliverance and that made him worry for her life. The last 2 years were not turning out as great as he had hoped. "...Let's all try to get some rest tonight. Josephine has to travel to the castle tomorrow." Her mother said as she wanted to make sure they send her off with a smile or at least try to. "... You're right...sleep well my children..." Her father said before letting his wife lead the way to their room.

"... Being close to the royal family really seems to bring you nothing but trouble." Her brother Reginald the III told his sister. "It's not their fault that witches are still out there. They are doing the best that they can." She told him sternly. "I know that... but a part of me wishes things would go back to they way were before the war." He told her honestly. "...but then the commoners would suffer greatly...and that's not right at all." Josephine said as being a part of the Deliverance made her see that. "Father would scold you for saying that you know." Josephine told her brother. "...yeah...I bet grandfather would as well... 'Shut your damn mouth and be grateful for what you have, boy!'..." Reginald the III said as he tried to sound like his old grandfather. This caused both of them to give out a small chuckle at reminiscing about their late grandfather. "...Grandfather would have really loved Lord Alm..." Reginald the III said sadly. Josephine looked over at the old family portrait that had their grandfather still hanging by the fireplace. "....yeah...he really would have..." she said with a small smile. It was not too long before they all turned in early to bed. Tomorrow would be a very busy day for Josephine after all...she only could hopped that Alm would make time to see her...

ill be honest while playing engage is fun so far the romantic narrative is. lackluster. i saw some S dialogues n even saw some of tbe cgs and it looks less romantic like how it usually does in otome games. yes i know fire emblem is not an otome game and ever since awakening they kind of amped up the romantic aspect of the game.

in my opinion 3 houses did a great job catering to the otome aspect (dimitri is still number 1 wanted by female players) and the cgs are so romantic since the male love interests has cgs cater to typical female players and female love interests has cgs cater to the male players. plus i love how 3 houses has the romantic subplots (ballroom tower n goddess tower scenes) inserted in the story without making it out of place.

of course awakening has romance as its core plot so the fact that that narrative became a hit i guess developers try to roll with it. fates is a either you hate it or love it game with the romantic narratives so well loved (mstly by eastern fandom) or so hated (mstly by western fandom). im still bitter they removed some mechanics in the jpnese game lmao

which brings me to engage. the story seems fun. seems campy. comedic even. ive seen some of the alear dialogues that hv romantic undertones w other characters and tbh the only 1 that has a natural progression is alear with alfred. i dnt mind alear not getting ALL the romantic supports but i am disappointed that they removed paired endings for all characters

now of course im not saying fe is only interesting when its an otome game. i love fe7 A Lot coz the plots so good and the romance in it fits so well and so perfect (eliwood/ninian n jaffar/nino) n even lyns support with kent still has me in a grip. matthews grief over losing leila still hurts me and to think he slowly heals with serra gives me the uwus. even fe8 and fe echoes were interesting with their paired plot (seth dealing w his feelings for eirika and berkut losing his humanity n rinea at the same time)

my point here is: im kinda annoyed at the direction engage went with. the lack of proper romantic subplot be it compulsory (fea n fe7) or optional (fe3h n fates) its like they want to cater to Everyone that it ends up not meeting any expectations. if anything it is only met in the middle

🪶Golden eagle on a flash mob in VK "Bird of my soul"

To tell the truth, it was very difficult for me to find a bird that would suit me. I thought about it for almost a week, but since I am not very strong in ornithology, I could not find anything. But then I came across a golden eagle and I realized - my bird.

Why is the golden eagle closest to me in spirit?

The first thing I want to note is the appearance, which is very attractive, and which, as for me, intersects with mine.

In principle, I don’t imagine myself as a small bird, like a dove or a sparrow - no. I don’t know, I feel like a big and powerful enough feathered bird, especially a predator, which is what the golden eagle is. Yes, even his fur is the color of my hair, and looking at his head I see similarities with my facial features, or I want to see, but at least we are similar in temper.

The second reason is the area where he lives. In this regard, the golden eagle has a wide variety, starting with the steppes and tundra, and ending with coniferous forests or taiga, but in particular it lives in rocky areas, away from people. What about me? In principle, I love nature, I love solitude, I love forests. The picturesqueness of the rocky areas, mixed with the taiga, simply saturates, and I always wanted to go there, although, unfortunately, this is not possible now.

The smell, the views, the sounds and the tranquility are all taken into account by me and appreciated very much.

These birds are monogamous, form a pair for life. They practice joint hunting, which can be called a fairly close-knit affair, where two people work in a well-coordinated team, and here I definitely see myself. One of my main goals is to find a person who can keep me company for life and with whom we can, as friends, constantly spend time doing what we like and helping each other, solving all kinds of problems together.

Even golden eagles are not talkative enough birds, eating densely and most often leading a sedentary lifestyle, they are afraid of people, and also do not tolerate the intrusion of relatives into their territory - me again.

And here is the most important thing that I would like to note separately - that golden eagles are the masters of the air.

How does this look like me? Here I want to express my love for the wind, for the clouds and everything connected with it. I have said this so many times, but I will repeat it again. To be able to fly is my main dream, which strongly connects me with birds in general.

Cool wind enveloping you and relaxing, blue sky giving a feeling of freedom...it's all mine. All my life I dreamed of getting my wings and soaring into the air, to feel for myself what it means to fly, what it means to be a bird and be free.

And what about berkuts? They are very strongly connected with the sky, connected with the wind, and it is not for nothing that they are called the kings of the sky in some stories. They feel just great in the sky - they dive, soar on air currents ... in general, it’s clear what feelings this causes in me and why this very aspect was the most important in choosing a bird like me.

And so, I finished my story and the provision of arguments about the chosen representative of the birds.

As for the work itself - I really enjoyed experimenting, I even got tired and made more detailed coloring, which I think is a good experience, even though I stopped trying in the end.. I got fucked. But it could do better for sure.

It is also worth noting that since I am portraying myself, then the golden eagle is still a teenager here, which can be understood by its not very large size. Well, I also added a scar, since that's my hallmark.

Although, after the work done, I understand that I'm still a fluffy one and I had to make a larger feather cover, but well, next time, next :) I will definitely do it again.

The fact that Valbar’s like “oh, but there’s no use standing around crying about it” after this is just… wow. No, Valbar, it is incredibly valid to cry about it. Like good on you for knowing what you need and deciding maybe life like this might help you, but like… the occasional tears are okay, buddy. I promise I won’t judge.

I’m going to have to write an essay on the way this game confronts sexism, swapping between Watsonian and Doylist perspectives, because this is just continuously too interesting to me.

Probably a good time to mention that in my first year of university I took an East Asian History class, and while the classroom was fairly large, my professor would always ask my opinions on feminist issues in varying time periods in a few of the different countries… because I always wanted to know what was going on with the women when I wrote my essays.

I think this probably says something about Fernand, that he’s so smitten with someone like Berkut… like bro. Even Berkut’s fiancée isn’t really that into him anymore because he’s just that freakish about the war. Maybe a bit of a red flag?

I mean, then again, it’s Fernand. He himself is a bit of a red flag. Maybe they’re perfect for each other, who knows.

Oh ho in this game, apparently, yes

Even though the last guy is a generic soldier, this looks like the mean girl line-up from every teen movie ever. Seriously. There’s the leader, her loyal follower, and the forgettable third one.

My brain needs to stop subconsciously memeing everything Berkut does, cause this just played, “Scared of beans, space boy?!” in my head. I think I’ve just seen inklings of the fanbase memeing and/or dunking on Berkut where they can, and now I’m just having these moments where I forget that I’m meant to take him seriously.

Which I mean, I hear he’s a pretty good villain when you get far enough into the game, so I’m sure I won’t have trouble taking him seriously later… but so far he’s mostly just showing up and being mean to Alm, so for now I am giving myself license to bully him softly.

… I did not enjoy this part. Idk if it was me or the chapter, but there was some fucking Fates-level RNG happening here. Also probably because I didn’t strategize really, I kind of just put the strong people closest and then charged, but that is neither here nor there. I mean, it’s probably the reason why I did not have a great time with it but hey. I’m a casual. And part of that is just because while I can think well, I can’t say I always want to lol. This was one of those times.

i have decided to start working on the fic with corrin playing relationship cousnelor with a few specific characters. here’s the wip of it right now!

featured characters: corrin, xander, seteth, tharja, keaton, berkut, griss, gangrel

“The tea is as lovely as always, Jakob.”

Corrin watches as Jakob meticulously moves around the room, distributing teacups and plates, proceeding to top the cups with freshly brewed tea and sugar to all sitting around the table.

It was… a special occasion for this get-together. Frankly, Corrin had never dreamed of taking the time to find a sizable room in the castle to gather all of these people for a few discussions. However, when listening to her friends' woes, she knew that she just had to do something, and that just happens to be a casual intervention. She glances at the clipboard on her lap, the list of topics to talk about neatly listed with a purple glitter pen (she would have to thank Ceres for it, later), as well as a list of those she had wished to speak to. She looks up from her board, to be sure that all were there.

Lined up to the left side of the table, closest to her was her older brother, Xander. He seems calm and collected to be there, quietly drinking his tea and making small talk with his companion next to him–

Who just so happened to be Tharja, a mage of Plegia. While Corrin didn’t know her as well, she was well aware of her rather strange nature. Even though she seemed like she was listening to Xander, she was writing…a lot of words in a notebook in front of her.

But, the other man at Tharja’s side was not making small talk with either her or Xander.

At Henry’s other side, sits Berkut. Prince of Rigel, he has opted to not touch his tea at all yet, instead staring daggers at the man who sits across from him.

Speaking of the other side of the table…

Directly across Berkut sits Griss, a newer recruit of the Order of Heroes. A… peculiar addition for sure, but Corrin’s willing to give the man a chance. Like Berkut, he doesn’t opt for tasting the tea at all, but instead tips his chair back and reclines, staring at her to get started with her agenda.

At least beside him sat another familiar face to her; Keaton. He appeared to be off in his own little world, playing with scraps of fabric he surely found on his way to the room; Always with his “treasures”, that’s for sure.

To Keaton’s left, sits Seteth, second-in-command of the Church of Seiros. He doesn’t pay much mind to those he’s sitting with, taking the time to appreciate the tea.

“How long is this going to take?” A shrill, raspy voice calls out, and Corrin forces herself to look at who is sitting directly in front of her across the table.

Ah, yes.

Mad King Gangrel, who impatiently taps his nails against the table.

The door to the room opens, revealing two more people to join the group: Chrom and Robin.

Thankfully, they aren’t here because of any issues occurring between them and others; Rather, because Corrin asked for them to be backup for her, as she holds this meeting. Ever so graciously, they agreed. And she could not feel any safer!

As they take their seats, Chrom to her left and Robin to her right, and as Jakob finishes distributing all of the tea and moves to stand at the wall behind the three, Corrin finally clears her throat.

“Ahem! I would like to thank you all for taking the time to meet with me,” she starts, hands folded and resting on the table. “There is only a few things I would like to discuss with you all, but I’m sure as long as you all cooperate, we can get through these in a breeze–”

“Who are you again?” Griss cuts her off, which causes a chain reaction of the following:

Tharja and Gangrel groaning and grumbling.

Seteth and Xander both letting out sighs, with Seteth even putting his head in his hands.

Berkut giving Griss what is possibly the nastiest look she has ever seen anyone give– and she’s gotten on Takumi’s bad side before!

Chrom and Robin both starting to nervously chuckle at the sight of said look.

Keaton… is still off in his own little world.

Corrin blinks, before clearing her throat.

“Erm, I’m Corrin, I haven’t realized I didn’t properly introduce myself to you yet, Griss, sorry about that,” she adjusts the papers on her clipboard to recollect herself, “can I… continue?”

He shrugs with a grunt. She will just have to take that as a yes.

“Anyways,” she starts again, glancing at what she has written, “I’ve been… reported to, about some situations by friends, and I’d like to help them and you all by getting down to what exactly happened and how we can alleviate any sort of tensions. Any questions before I start?”

Tharja raises her hand immediately.

“Yes?”

“Can I leave?” Tharja asks, her eyes focused exclusively on Robin. “I think this is pointless.”

“...No you cannot,” Corrin frowns, as she sees Robin shift out of discomfort from the corner of her eye, “can you stop staring at him?”

“...No.” Tharja huffs, and slouches in her seat.

“Great!” Corrin picks up the clipboard, while Chrom reaches to rest a comforting hand on Robin’s shoulder. “Now, my first order of business is to talk with Xander and Seteth.”

Both men seem startled at Corrin’s words, near jumping in their seats.

“We were… reported?” Xander asks, raising an eyebrow. Seteth looks more tense in comparison, arms folded across his chest.

“Can I ask what the issue was exactly, Corrin?” He slowly asks, his words sounding harsh. Corrin scratches at her face.

“Well…”

Okay I gotta vent about my frustrations with Dimitri’s inclusion on the Fallen Banner. (This is gonna turn into an essay about my interpretation of Dimitri’s character I just know it)

Dimitri is not fallen in the same sense that all of the other characters that have appeared on fallen banners so far. All of them, yes including Corrin who is out of control due to their dragon blood, are all influenced by another force, person, or “negative energy” in Ike’s case. These characters who have traits that change once the outside force is introduced and influences them and then they are propelled to make decisions that they’d never do. Like Berkut being possesed by Duma’s power causing him to sacrifice Rinea’s soul, something he would not do if he were in his right mind since he has voice lines of him calling out to her as if he doesn’t remember what he did to her. This is not the case for a character like Dimitri. 

Dimitri has always been “fallen”. He’s been “fallen” ever since the Duscur tragedy which events predate the start of the game. So the Dimitri Byleth meets at the very beginning of the game is the same damn Dimitri that’s on this banner...with short hair. The difference is that Dimitri has chosen to put on a façade so he can maneuver his way through the academy to search for clues so he can get his bloody revenge. A lot of people think Dimitri “fell” when Edelgard was revealed to be the Flame Emperor but that’s not really true. Dimtiri was just triggered by the reveal that he decided to no longer keep his up his front and pretty much expose how his mental state was the entire time. 

It’s revealed in Felix and Dimitri’s pre-timeskip C support that Dimitri has always been a “blood thirsty beast” and Dimitri literally doesn’t deny it. Post-timeskip after Rodrigue’s death and Dimitri is “back to normal” Dedue literally tells Byleth that Dimitri is not “back to normal” because he’s never been fucking “normal” the entire time they’ve known him. EVEN after Rodrigue’s death you can still see that Dimitri is still “a blood thirsty boar” when he’s facing Cornelia in Fhirdiad as he viciously tells the army to smash her in his “savage boar voice” and then if he faces her in combat he threatens to kill her in his “boar voice”. This man’s “savageness” and lust for revenge is who he is. 

Look at Felix and Dimitri’s A Support:

Felix: “Sometimes you have an animal’s face, contorted with anger and bloodlust. At other times, a man’s, with a friendly smile. Which is your true face?”

Dimitri: “Do not waste your breath on questions with such obvious answers. They are both the real me.”

Key words: They are both the real me. 

Dude is literally right here. in the text, telling us that he is both a smiling friendly man and a savage beast. That is who he is as a person. In his S support with Byleth he admits that even after all they’ve gone through he still hears the voices meaning he still has intrusive, violent thoughts (because obviously the voices aren’t telling him to go on a picnic and be happy) and that’s literally going to follow him until he dies. What has changed is Dimitri is learning how to healthily cope. He’s taking his negative experiences and trauma and is using that as motivation to create peace and a world where no one should have to suffer the way he has.

Dimitri’s character is not about the fall from grace because he has already fallen before the story even starts. It’s about repentance and redemption. If anything the man should be on a redemption themed banner rather than a fallen one.

There may not be a explicit written requirement for which characters constitute as “fallen” but there is a very distinct implicit one since all the characters up until this banner have all been possessed characters acting OOC because “evil purple magic made them evil and angry”. And then there’s Dimitri literally being himself with weird purple shit floating around him and Walmart brand Kreimheld in his hand as if that’s the reason he’s “fallen”.

So uhhhhhhhh @fayesdiary I’m sorry if I keep latching onto this au asdfhasdjh but I literally spent all day thinking about how everyone could have had a much happier ending while still going through and growth and development and Rinea deserved to be a warrior who got her happy ending and Alm deserved his true family and Berkut deserved a happy childhood and ANYWAY I finally finished my oneshot about the Deliverance meeting general Rinea for the first time so yeah :)

The field looked as average as they come: some grass, scattered trees, and the like. As the Deliverance stepped out onto it, they spotted a familiar army on the opposing side. They were imposing, sure, but nothing new to Berkut after their previous fights. He and his comrades were in average shape that day. The weather was tepid. The battle would not have been memorable, Berkut thought, were it not for the Rigelian’s leader at the head of the group. 

The rumors of General Rinea did not do the woman justice. 

Even without her intimidating getup, her posture alone radiated authority and confidence. Despite her young age, she held herself with pride -- perhaps something a little stronger than pride -- and looked down on everything from her horse. Her sapphire armor glinted in the sun. Her hair shone with a paler shade of blue as it flew free in the breeze behind her. A headpiece kept it out of her face, decorated with flowers, vines, and thorns that appeared like a devil’s horns atop her head. A tome glowed in her gloved hand. 

Rinea had been pacing the front lines, looking more collected than most war generals. Berkut glanced at his brother. Sure enough, Alm’s expression was the furthest thing from calm. The young leader surveyed their opponents with nervous eyes. Catching him looking, Alm gave Berkut a confident nod. 

Upon their arrival, Rinea rode out a ways to meet them.

“As I live and breathe…” she mused. “The Deliverance! Well, this is simply delightful.”

For the briefest moment, Berkut was taken aback. The young woman’s voice was oddly sweet in contrast with the rest of her presence. Seeing her up close, he was struck with the realization that she was quite beautiful. The harshness of Rigel had not hardened her like many others. Unlike the cold soldiers she led, Rinea seemed bright, full of life, full of fire. Her looks certainly would have turned heads were she only a pretty lady of the court; but now, strength and leadership simply added to her beauty. 

The young knight quickly pushed the thoughts from his mind. He scolded himself for the foolishness of it. A member of the Deliverance would be wasting his time thinking such things about a deadly enemy… 

“Lady Rinea,” Alm called, his expression grim.

Clive spoke up from behind them, “why have you come here? Your main force has retreated.”

Rinea outstretched a hand in their direction, a smug smile creeping onto her face. She was not attacking, merely addressing him. Regardless, Berkut moved protectively to Alm’s side. 

“I long for sport, you see. I wish to test your might!” She saw the young man move, and she tilted her head. “Ah yes, you must be the troublesome brothers I’ve heard so much about. Sir Mycen’s heirs from the village, as word has it? My, I cannot believe Desaix lost the castle to the likes of you.”

Berkut’s knuckles whitened on his lance as she spoke. All the Rigelians they’d faced were the same, it seemed. He was growing sick of that same look of disgust towards them. After all the Deliverance had sacrificed and worked for, it made his blood boil. 

Alm opened his mouth to speak, but Berkut couldn’t help blurting, “You hold your tongue! You shall not speak of Alm in such a way. Our leader is far more skilled, strong, and noble than your silly emperor can ever dream to be!” The boy knew he was in no place to make such claims about the infamously powerful emperor, but he couldn’t deny the sense of satisfaction at slinging such wild insults. “I do not care for your Rigelian beliefs that we are inferior because of where we hail from.”

The general's icy gaze fell upon him. “I believe no such thing, therefore it shall be you who holds his tongue. I know you have worked harder than anyone to reach here. I must say, I was most impressed by the battle at Zofia Castle.” Her face darkened. “Regardless of your skills, however, Desaix should not have fallen at your hands. I should like to see your strength for myself.”

Alm raised his sword in reply. “Then I suppose we have no choice.” 

The woman’s eyes widened. Although she was quick to cover it, Berkut caught the flash of fear in her expression. “That mark on your left hand… Where did that come from?”

The boy glanced down in confusion. Berkut could feel his stomach sink. No matter how hard he tried to escape the terrible truth, his brother’s past continued to haunt him wherever he went. 

Alm shook his head. “What do you care?! Are you here to fight or not?”

  “No… It cannot be the Brand.” the general said to herself, just barely audible from where Berkut stood. She then raised her voice. “I have worked far too hard for you to take everything from me!” 

With that, she ordered her men to charge.

Berkut watched as Mathilda attacked, the woman’s quick blow knocking Rinea off her horse. The cavalier continued forward; if she remained any longer she’d risk the general’s vengeful magic. 

Rinea pulled herself to her feet, whirling her head around to where Mathilda had gone. She wiped blood from her face. Her rage turned to amusement, however, when she spotted Tobin nearby. The boy was fumbling with an injury to his arm. Her arms crackled with magic as she came closer. 

Berkut tore across the field, planting himself between them. “You shall have to go through me first!” 

Rinea smirked. “You truly think your power can measure up to mine?”

“I have heard much about you,” he replied, “but after you hid away at Zofia Castle, I no longer fear you the same.”

She tipped her head back, giving an unsettlingly sweet laugh. “I have no need to bear these accusations of cowardice. Let us fight and put this to rest, Deliverance scum.”

He lifted his lance, setting his jaw. “My name is Berkut.”

“Well, then, Berkut,” she spread her hands, now alight with fire. “Shall we dance?”

About the Fallen Heroes Banner

First off, no, I haven't watched the video (just checked out stats/skills). I'm not entirely sure what's going on with Edelgard, but seeing that she's a villain in 3/4 routes, getting a "fallen alt" isn't surprising. I am doing my best to avoid her art, etc . . . like a plague.

And . . . about Fallen Dimitri. He is hot, and I am going to spark for him. I even went back and did story chapters (I literally only ever do these when they're quests lol) to make sure I got enough orbs after the L!Sigurd banner didn't go so well.

That said, I'm betting a few people - myself included - are a bit off-put by his working so similar to L!Dimitri, but even more so by the unfortunate association of Dimitri's mental illness with possession/demonic influences, etc . . . I don't disagree that he's "fallen" in a traditional sense, but past "fallen" heroes all had some cursed sword or etc . . . Even heroes that willingly fell (Lyon, Berkut, etc . . .) were all symbolized by a possession or other supernatural thing. Dimitri's fall isn't caused by his mental illness, but it's been ignored and exasperated for 9 years by events and is impossible not to address when considering his actions.

It's entirely understandable why some people would be off-put by his inclusion in the banner. Though him not having red eyes and Orson's presence do somewhat mitigate it?

Still, throughout history people have confused mental illness with possession or etc . . . In the past, we really didn't know any better, but it still happens today. Anneliese Michel was a mentally unwell girl who's parents refused to accept or believe she was mentally ill. Instead they hired a preacher to exorcise her. She died of mistreatment during the exorcism. This happened in 1976. (Also, please, please be careful looking more into this. There are images; they are graphic and heartbreaking). Poor Elisa Lam had an episode of psychosis and died during it. A security camera caught her acting strangely. To. This. Day. People argue some demon or ghost was chasing her around. She died in 2013. Refusing to accept mental illness and thinking it's something supernatural isn't some unfortunate, misguided belief of yesteryear. It's very real, and it still happens.

So, yes, I understand the discomfort. I also understand it's just I$ banking off a popular character, and as a marketer I fully understand that side as well. I don't think IS meant to associate mental illness with demonic influence, but I'm also woefully under informed about the state of Japanese thought on mental illness.

As someone privileged in mental health, it's pretty easy for me to just enjoy another alt of a character quickly becoming one of my favorites. I'm not, not going to summon for him or enjoy how fun he is as a unit (because firesweep + canto sounds like a lot of fun tbh), but I also think people who are upset about this have every right to be and have a point. (Also, for the record, I'm fully FTP in FEH, so IS isn't getting my money over this, but they never do).

I think people who want to enjoy a fun, new (very pretty) alt of Dimitri are well within their right to do so. People who are distressed and upset at the association between mental illness and possession are also within their right to do so. The only assholes here are people who belittle anyone who is upset about this - bonus points if the upset person is neurologically diverse. Fuck you everyone telling them to chill out. You've got no right to tell someone how they should feel about something like this. I just hope you all don't come at me too hard for being weak to more Dimitri abs in damaged art.

His "Meet the Heroes" page has made me more hopeful as it doesn't add any boogey man aspect to Dimitri's fall, but rather someone who's been hurt so many times they eventually gave into to their demons. I think I'll hold full reservations until I see his Forging Bonds dialogue. Can someone please let me know if there's spoilers? I'll wait if there are, but I'm dying to see how it's handled. Obviously I'm fully intending on skipping Edelgard's for the time being.

To compensate, the answer is really, really long! i know you said I could choose one but question 33 is kind of a joke question so whatevs. Also no keep reading sorry but Tumblr formatting is being a butthole 2) Who’s your favorite character from Alm’s side? Faye! Yes I know, you're all shocked. But honestly, she's the kind of character who absolutely deserved better (and imo she's the one who got shafted the most alongside Rinea), but it's so fun to flesh her out from the few things we know about her! Also, her fanbase is very small but so talented?? Besides the great fanart, especially on AO3 there are a lot of wonderful stories, my favourite being this one about her travelling with Celica! 3) Who’s your favorite character from Celica’s side? Previous answers: Celica Hoo boy, answering this question again is kinda hard, since I really like all of Celica's party besides Deen, Nomah and Jesse. But since Sonya T-Posed over Jedah's corpse today, I think I'm gonna go with her for this! She's an interesting personality (her confidence is honestly great and I like that while aloof at first she slowly warms up to the party), most of what she says reveals something about her or her past and she's connected with Echoes' main villain! Also, she has the only optional boss conversation in the entire game. Honestly Sonya to me is the perfect example of a mysterious character because every interaction with her is important to learn something about her and makes you keep wanting more, but you never get the whole picture, which means there's also room to speculate. For example, how did she end up working for Grieth? When did her sisters become witches? Should her endcard be taken literally or is it a rumor she just spread herself? 12) Of all the antagonists, which one is your favorite? Berkut! He's such an interesting villain and one I constantly have the time of my life mocking, but at the same time someone you can't help but feel sorry for the more you learn about him. He steals the spotlight every scene he's in, doubly impressive since he wasn't even in Gaiden to begin with and he has an incredible presentation, between the design, Ian Sinclair overkilling it and his overly grandiose themes! Rudolf gets a dishonorable mention, because while I absolutely hate him, dragging him through the mud every chance I get is so much fun. And honestly, that alone makes him "better" than a boring villain.

26) Talk a bit about the game’s themes!

It's intriguing and kinda suprising for FE standards the relative nuance with each theme, and I really like it! For the class struggle while you do get the message that your station shouldn't impact your opportunities and the hint that class won't matter nearly as much in the age of mankind, you still have things like Clive openly believing in the systems of monarchy and nobility (see: his support with Python that is one of my faves), and while he wants to fight for the common people and making life better for them, he has to face the fact he knows very little about their struggles, not to mention a lot of bias he still has to overcome (see: the whole situation with Delthea). Heck, the whole thing about Alm being secretly royalty makes the whole thing even more muddled, because while the game argues for meritocracy we also see how Alm has been able to do things the average person can't because of his bloodline. So, in this fantasy world, nobility would matter, right? While obviously there need to be more equal rights and less privilage, at the same time you wonder if Berkut was right after all about nobility being meant to rule, even besides the whole prophecy nonsense. Zofia and Rigel are a teeny bit more nuanced than the usual good country-bad country of Fire Emblem standards, same with Mila and Duma, so it's really interesting to discuss them, even if I wish we could have seen a bit more of both at their best (same for the gods' philosophies), instead of the decayed mess we see ingame. Rudolf (at least in theory) is the usual conqueror, but instead of being a puppet or just working for the main villain he's actually doing the opposite, preparing the hero to be the one to save Valentia never mind that he likely did more damage to Valentia than the freaking Faithful ever did Jedah, while being the usual evil sorcerer, he's also extremely devoted to Duma, with his motivations being that Duma must maintain his position for Valentia to survive, so he does whatever he can to tend to him and further his power (outright not caring if this will end up in an age of tyranny), and while this absolutely does NOT justify his action even a little, it's so intriguing and more interesting than the usual evil sorcerer doing evil things because they're evil (Gharnef) or even because of a tragic backstory! (Not to shit on characters like Manfroy, his manga backstory fits him perfectly and fleshes out a theme about persecution that was barely mentioned in og FE4, I really hope they make it canon in the eventual remake)

The closer the date for her Ylisse wedding got, the more nervous and worried she became. The decorations and wedding planning were the easy part. It was her personal issue with the past coming back that made her worried. It was hard enough as it was that she was scared to look at the journal that Emmeryn left behind about her. Bercutio wanted to compare his uncle Walhart's journal to see if they had visions around similar times but wanted to make sure Azalea was comfortable about it. So she had tried to hide away to go to the stables to distract herself but Bercutio had figured out where she was. "Goodness Bercutio you really can find me anywhere. I have not taken you the stables yet!" Azalea said with a small laugh. "Odd huh? I think I know why." He said as he carried the basket for her so she can freely feed the animals. "...Berkut really doesn't want to be away from Rinea..." Azalea knew that was the case but it was starting to get worse as it was bringing out Rinea and Berkut to the surface.

The voice of her brother was a good distraction from their talk. She had not told Chrom about it yet. "Oh hello big brother!" Azalea greeting him and gave a small laugh to Argent. "I didn't forget about you Argent ~ Here you go." she said as she gave him those apples he loved so much. "So this is the famous Argent you told me about. Beautiful horse that he is." Bercutio said as of course Valm loved their Calvary so it was not a surprise that he loved horses very much. "Good Day to you Chrom." Bercutio said as he acknowledge his presents. "Oh that's right you want me to go for a ride big brother?" Azalea looked over at Bercutio to ask if it was alright.

However it would seem that the ancient soul had other ideas as for a moment Azalea's eye turned a lighter shade of blue. "Lord Chrom, you know I can't leave Lord Berkut's side." The soul answered. "Oh no. Not again. Az-...My beloved look at me." Bercutio said as he had 'Rinea' look at him. She looked so cute and happy! The Berkut in him wanted to hold her close but Bercutio had better control of his 'soul'. "Listen to me. Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Remember who you are now." Bercutio said as 'Rinea' did as she instructed before she opened her now dark blue eyes once more. "...it happed again." Azalea said as she shook her head. "You have been stressed. Go for a ride with your brother. I'll be here with the other horses when you come back." Bercutio said as he did seem happy with horses around and they did seem to like him naturally. "Yes you are right. I'll see you soon." She gave him a quick hug before she went over to her brother. "Sorry about that. We can go now." I’ll get to those Magic Crafter Dragons I sweeeear But first, fun stuff from Discord. Dunno who made the original, it was just posted on a server, but yeet I did it anyway First of all, I don’t play a lot of games. I like games and the idea of them. I enjoy people playing stuff, I love watching others play. It’s that little sibling culture. But lemme toss a word or few about all of these. Though first of all, I only own 4 of the 8 games listed and even still I’ve only played 3 of them xD R.I.P. Pokemon Cafe Mix - The game is just Super Cute. Like oh my god Aesthetics! Adorable, every pokemon looks so nice and I just want to go to the cafe and taste everything and just chill. Please. It looks so cozy and relaxing. Gameplay is fairly simple too. Sometimes things seem a bit BS but in one way or another I’ll get through every stage etc. so it’s not too bad. Most of the time relaxing, can be addicting because of how simple things are. But really I love the game and I hope one day they’ll add more of the pokemon I like xD Buizel is my current favourite <3 It’d be nice seeing Mienshao or Mienfoo for one, maybe Glameow as it doesn’t get a lot of attention. We got Gogoat, but I wouldn’t mind a Sawsbuck or Deerling Pokemon Black 2 - To keep the Pokemon trend going, this is my fave out of the mainline games. I’ve been a fan ever since the first generation, I’m older than Gen 1 at that. But yeah, we did buy games but Nintendo stuff was too expensive and so I never really got to play those growing up. Black 2 was the first game I ever bought, for myself, with my own money. It was my first game and I loved it dearly. Still do and man I’d Love to replay it, but the curse of only 1 save file is cruel. I don’t want to restart my first ever save file. Currently I have no way of transferring anything over and I even have a Shiny Gothorita there (as underwhelming as it is, it was my first ever shiny). I love these games~~ Lots of different pokemon to choose from, great story, the fact that it’s a sequel is so freaking cool and unique I Love It So Much. Of course it’d be cool to have some extra things to do in it, like cleaning my badges, contests would be cool, I loved the mining stuff in Gen 4 when I got to try it on my friend’s Platinum save file as a kid. Speaking of, Gen 4 games would probably be my favourites, if I ever had the chance of owning and playing any fully. They have soooo much to do in them! Gen 5 is good and certainly up there in faves, but bruh, Gen 4 had all sorts of extra stuff, especially Platinum, and in HG/SS you had Pokemon following you like bruh that’s Crazy and I’d love to have that for a game I own, it’s like a dream Honorable mentions to Mystery Dungeon and Gen 6′s Pokemon Y for some grand memories. Firstly Pokemon Y, the second game I ever owned I think, great fun. I played that game for hooooooooours and it’s the only Pokemon Game that I’ve both played as a Nuzlocke and actually reset to play again. Also the first gen where I actually really got into competitive stuff, breeding for natures and stuff, and I’ve caught so many shinies in Y and Omega Ruby (mostly Y, OR has 1 shiny in Pidove, while Y has Ninetales, Pachirisu, Burmy, Gligar, and perhaps some other ones I caught/hatched myself). Mystery Dungeon games get a mention for having cool stories and I like the idea of the personality test and stuff. I’ve never played or owned any of these games, but I’ve watched Marriland play a handful of the games and currently am enjoying MDB playing through the first games in the series. Also a quick bloop on Colosseum being Cool as heck, and Battle Revolution gets a shoutout for looking so freaking good, having amazing music and making me search up videos with my favourite pokemon and just looking and watching hundreds of videos just because they looked so nice

Fire Emblem has to be the 2nd series of games I’ve gotten the most into. Although I’m a fairly new fan and my experiences and knowledge are limited, I do still enjoy the series and games - both old and new - a bunch. I only own Awakening, Conquest and 3 Houses, but I’ve again watched others play the past games a bunch, so I have some knowledge and memorable moments from those games too. Now I haven’t actually gotten myself to play 3 Houses yet, I’ve seen playthroughs of the game already and know the story etc. But yeh. Still, I’d say that I’ll probably like 3 Houses more than Awakening and Conquest. Awakening is nostalgia galore for me, but it does have its things with the story and characters and stuff. It’s nice, but I dunno, I just feel 3 Houses has an edge on it in some way. Maybe it’s just... Less controversial? Less Flame Wars? Maybe? Fates games, well, we all know the big glaring thing here. The story. And some of the characters suffer from this too. I kinda do wish that the Player had a biiiit more control in how the story went and played out, like I feel you definitely could have saved Scarlet in some way still, and all that. But eh, there’s enough stuff for me to go and prefer 3 Houses over it. And yes, I like choosing the members of my team and playing however I like, so giving me the ability to class my characters however I want is going to be a mistake as I’ll just make everyone a mounted unit and get destroyed but hey! Options :2 Variety :22 Great tiiiiimes~ Also it’s Blue Lions for me, Golden Deer Second Now for the games I don’t own. I chose Radiant Dawn because the Tellius games are just so good. I love the character in them, the story is pretty solid and the worldbuilding is cool too :2 I like both of the games, and while Path of Radiance is more coherent and doesn’t give split the characters up a bunch, Radiant Dawn has More of the great characters :2 Yes I know, not all of them are as fleshed out and thought out as the first game’s characters, but yo I still love them. I love a good continuation to a story. I love a ‘hey maybe it wasn’t as Black & White as we were made to believe’ twist. Also just hella good memories from watching BigKlingy play these games. The audience memed Aran to the final levels. We did it, he did so well, Aran deserved to be there xD Radiant Dawn also brings us Nailah, who is just. Yeah, you speak to me on so many levels, I’m easily readable. But also, woman, wolf, strong, yasss~~ Also I love the idea of the Jaegan character being a Thief/Assassin. That’s just so different and cool to me after all these Horse Units. And I’m the one guy who likes Levail and would love to see more of him. Give us more of Levail, the man who almost made it to being playable. Man. Levail is probably the one reason I’d pick Radiant Dawn over Path of Radiance xD The other game I’ve watched BigKlingy play through (and that’s my only experience on that game) is Sacred Stones. Pretty solid game all in all. Story, characters, but speaking of that story, if you really think about it, it’s Hella Dark, and that’s actually kinda cool in a way. I’m not that into dark stories, but here it worked. Also watched PhoenixMaster1′s playthrough on the Echoes game. I do like the game, if i find it one day I Might buy it but I’m not like in a hurry to get it. It was cool though, different for reasons but hey~ Also, Berkut, yes. I’m one of those people who like this angry man. But come on, he was really good xD Spyro I’ve already talked about in my lengthy little thing that I’ll get to continuing eventually xD But yes, I freaking love Spyro, my childhood, still very enjoyable experience full of great memories Metroid Fusion - Oh boy here come the nostalgia~ I’ve actually never played any Metroid games myself. I got introduced to the series in the early 2010s through youtube videos. I’m fairly sure it was me looking through dozens and dozens of Top 10 videos, several of which were on ‘the scariest bosses’, either unexpectedly scary or something else. But guess what, Nightmare from Fusion was in there, and I Think the person in the video said something on not wanting to even show the final forms of Nightmare’s face because it was that horrifying to them. And honestly? The fact that they didn’t show how bad it got, mixed with my morbid curiosity and woop, here I go~ Down the Metroid rabbithole where I watched a lot of videos on people fighting Nightmare and the other bosses in the game, eventually going into watching full run-throughs of the game and enjoying my time. Game looked pretty good, soundtrack was really nice too. And so I ended up on listening to a lot of the game series’ music and getting more familiar with the other games and the lore too. Learning to know that Samus was a lady was also hella badass. Fusion started it all for me, and while Super Metroid is cool, people also just play it a loooot, especially the Speedrunners, there’s also plenty of hacks based on that game and yeah I get it the game is Good, but that makes Fusion all the more special to me~ Devil May Cry 3 - Ok so again, I’ve not played any DMC games myself. This one again though is nostalgia ocean for me~ 2010 or such, I’m on some forum, said forum has a forum game based around songs or such and someone links one from this game. I Think it was the Doppelganger battle theme, or then I just found that one and listened to it for hours among the other battle themes these games have because they’re soooo gooood~~ DMC 4 was fairly new at that time, but I remember Gredo’s and Agnus’ themes being up there in songs I listened to a lot too. My experiences and stuff on this series was fully based on the songs, images on said songs, bits and pieces of the cutscenes of these games I saw and comments I read. I didn’t get too deep into DMC back then though, but I did have a bit of knowledge here and there, even if my idea of the stories in all the games was, well, I wouldn’t call it warped, but I definitely had imagined the story going differently to how things actually went xD Still, as a few years back I returned to DMC out of that feeling of nostalgia, and discovered DMC 5 had Just been released, boi, I was In. And I watched through cutscene compilations, playthoughs and what have you on all the games (Except for DmC, boot to you ReBoot), and it was quite the hype time~ I enjoy the chracters, the story that there is around them, and just how carefree and fun stuff can be. The party sure did get crazy~ Lost Dimension - The last game I have on the list there. This might be a weird one and I get that yeah. How many have even heard of this game? I sure wouldn’t have ever known of it without BigKlingy’s playthrough of it. But that playthrough was full of memories, I should really rewatch it one day~ I may not remember an awful lot about the game, but I do keep coming back to it in one way or another. I liked the character designs, the fact that all of them were unique and had their own abilities, there was a bit of story around all of them, the traitor system had you thinking & made each run a little different... That’s some Cool Stuff! The game might be a bit obscure and seriously not known at all, but for what it was, it was great and I enjoyed it a bunch! And now for stuff that wasn’t on the list but I kinda still want to mention. Because why not~ IB - This Almost made it onto the list, but I felt a little closer of a connection to the other games on it. But IB is one of those games from the early 2010s that I also got introduced to through the wonderful world of Youtube. I have forgotten the name of the person whose playthrough in the game I watched. But I watched a ton of people play this game. It was just. So cool. The puzzles in this game were nice and the fact I myself could solve and understand them too was pretty nice to me, and for some reason I just enjoyed watching other people react to the game and try solving stuff. It also had a couple different endings so watching and seeing what the other people got was also interesting. Great memories~ Witch’s House / Ao Oni / Mad Father - And all sorts of other horror games that kinda fall under this grouping and style and stuff. Yeah, IB kinda opened a bit of a thing for me as I realized I greatly enjoyed the horror games with puzzle elements to themselves + a bit of story here and there. There’s definitely much much more than these 3, I watched soooo many of these games being played by others. Ao Oni I may have discovered through my Hetalia phase though, HetaOni, if any of you still recognize that name. Daym. Although at first I didn’t want to watch HetaOni because of the portraits. Pfffff I thought the person who made them was being mean to some of the characters, but nah, I’d later learn that those were simply just mimicing the ones from the original game. But yeah, Ao Oni had a dozen variants and things inspired by it so those kept me busy for a whiiiiiile Hades - Now here’s a cool recent game! Again, haven’t played it, but it looks cool. The story is nice, character designs are God Like (hehe), soundtrack is super cool, aesthetics and oh my god everything is voice acted oh my gooood. This game is just. So cool. And the team who did it seems really cool too and are seemingly full of nice amazing people. This is definitely some great example work on how things should be done :2 Definitely something to look up to, I love everything about them~ The only reason Hades isn’t up there is because of its recentness and my brain not managing to think of it somehow even as I struggled to come up with stuff (I was mostly trying to think of stuff I had played, so that’s one thing. I even struggled to remember DMC because my current hyperfixations are elsewhere and that’s freaking Wild considering how much I enjoy DMC) But yeah, Hades is Super Freaking Cool Crash Bandicoot - These games I did play as a kid actually, the 1st one was way too hard and the 3rd one was my favourite. I like Crash, these games were nice too and I have plenty of good memories with the game, just not enough to make it up there on my list. Yeah it sounds stupid that I’d take out a game I actually played and replace it with stuff that I didn’t, but... Hey, my list Minecraft - Watched several videos on other people pllaying this game, I know of it, I respect it, but I’ve never played it myself and stuff. It’s cool but didn’t make it on the list Animal Crossing - Riiiiiight, these games seem adorable and I wouldn’t mind owning an AC game one day. I’d probably reset continuously though to get Skye in my town/village/island, she’s my favourite xD If the recent game had cost lest I might have gotten it. 60-70€ is just, a lot of money Persona - I guess I’ll mention these too. My experiences are through Bigklingy’s videos again. 3 is a fave, 4 seems cool, 5 I don’t know a lot about but it seems nice too. I probably wouldn’t be able to play these games myself, since some fights kinda need certain things and strategies and you can’t really just pick whatever and whom ever and roll through with brute strength. I mean, I Guess you could, but that might not be as fun in the long run? Who knows, but it’s not exactly like Pokemon or Fire Emblem in those regards you know The big conclusion is that I like all sorts of different aesthetic looks, mostly probably natural with some brighter colors in it. Stories are good, I love stories! Good characters with nice designs and backstories are really nice too. Things being thought out and built nicely is great you know? A little bit of strategy, fantasy here and there. Nothing too dark and gloomy or ‘hyper realistic’ or what have you. I guess no first person shooters either, though combat is fine. Games where I can pick and choose what to use and what kinds of ‘teams’ I build and the ‘members’ I use in them is nice. I do love watching others play, but with games like Pokemon & Fire Emblem I have that drive of choosing who to use and having my own unique experience kinda gets me to buy the games.

Fernand. Where do I even begin? There's a lot I can say about Fernand. But honestly? I think you'd really like him. He's the absolute pettiest bitch on the planet, but he makes it look very good. Does he do some questionable things in-source (like sorta sell out his entire country out of pure spite)? Yes. But he has his reasons, I'll give him that. He was a knight of Zofia, protecting the country and later working with Sir Clive in the Deliverance fighting against Desaix. He seems to fit your description pretty well! He is nice at heart, I'll be honest, I just like to make fun of him. :)

Berkut:

The imperial prince himself. Berkut's a hard worker, and while he really tries to seem intimidating, he's actually quite calm once you get to know him. Honestly he's got a whole bunch of backstory to him that I don't know how to explain in one paragraph but if you like sorta antagonists that you kinda feel bad for you should check out the wiki page I've linked in his name-

Luthier:

Luthier! He's interesting. He's not seen as the most socially adept, but I can tell he really cares for the others around him. He's a mage, and is really dedicated to studying magic and honing his skills, which is something I can really admire. I wasn't ever super close with him, but I definitely know that I can depend on him if I ever need anything. He's also just outright hilarious. If he ain't invited to the party, I ain't going-

I am pretty sure if Leigh is interviewed on Rhea and asked if Rhea would spare children of criminals, she'd answer no, especially if the criminals aren't caught yet. Because she has a hair trigger temper and "it is impossible to calm her down unless what upsets her has been annihilated". I hate NoA.

Hopefully Brave!Marianne being released next will make the fandom take interest in her backstory and not on the memes "she's berkut and rinea's fan child (if he didn't burn her to a crisp)" or the "disney princess" angle where she talks to animals.

Maurice escaped the WoH - his children weren't put to the sword because Seiros and pals couldn't destroy him, nope. The reason why Marianne and her family are shunned is exactly the same reason why Rhea doesn't want the Miklan debacle to get known around - if people who have a crest can suddenly transform into black beasts and eat/hurt people and lose their minds, those people are going to be shunned by the rest of society.

(otoh I find it extremely ironic that Marianne is a part of the GD House, when VW is supposedly the path were all truths are revealed (but we never see anyone react to it). Post VW are "random fodlaneses" going to hunt crested people because they got their "gifts" by being born to a line of murderers? Now that everyone knows what Maurice did and why he became a demonic beast, will people look at Marianne using Blutgang and worry ?)

But then, given the popularity of Dimitri and Billy, I would have thought more people read their supports :
