Got some more :D
1: what apps do they like to use? I can see them using twitter & maybe TikTok; probably do silly videos on there.
2: did Nightwing & starfire, plus mar’i tried to hide their superhero identity from Jake? (Probably did the same before mar’i got her powers too.)
3: how would a starburst duo movie start?
4: besides spider-man, do they like other spider-man stuff like the venom movie?
5: do they play battle royale games? I can see them both playing Fortnite (& doing the dances both in & out of costumes) but Chris likes COD Warzone & Jake like apex legends.
6: silly question, since they are pre-teens almost & have girlfriends, what do they prefer: butts or boobs? or personality XD
Sorry for the wait @gothicghost2000 But Here we are XD
1. They have three primary social apps: YouTube (the first one respectively), Twitter and Tumblr. All three apps have specific tools The Duo can use for their particular hobbies and interests, Tumblr for example being the blog space where they can give their predicts and hypotheses about their favorite ongoing shows and where it can go from there.
YouTube is their video library place, for all sorts including live streams, recaps of favorite shows/games, and yes thank to the Shorts function, TikTok style videos. Chris and Jake thankfully have both Jake’s tech expertise and even Oracle on some occasions to help them make sure they don’t get busted for copyright by the algorithms.
2. Not entirely actually. Even as a toddler, Jake was a relatively smart cookie and everyone knew it so before he was able to piece it altogether by the time he was 3 to 4 in his own way, Dick and Kory came clean to him about everything and even Mar’i pitched in about her training to one day be a great superhero like Momma and Daddy are since she has powers while Jake’s are still not kicking in.
I can just imagine little Jakey looking at his family, taking it all in and then finally breaking the silence saying “Does that mean I blast lasers from my eyes too later?” Akin to when Marky found out his powers at the end did the original Invincible comic
3. Basically I’d have first a colorful and detailed title sequence that through simple comic panels and even some motion comic elements, details the basics of how the Duo were born, Chris’ arrival on Earth and adoption by the Kents, the two first meeting as little kids who look up to their parents as their heroes, Jake’s power first kicking in when fending off a bully at school, the Duo training on their powers together and gaining renown slow but steadily, then once the title scene ends, we open with a bang as we are catching up with the Duo in the middle of a massive superhero battle in Metropolis against all sorts of baddies and villains, something akin to the opening shots of Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith
4. They have a good laugh and thrill at the first and second Venom movies respectively. They also are big time fans of the Spiderverse films; there actually is a strongly passionate debate between Chris and Jake over which Spidey films are better. Chris vouches for the Raimi trilogy while Jake sides firmly with Spiderverse. Other than all that though, both also watch every single Spidey animated series, good or bad, collect what their friends online consider the best runs in both Marvel Prime and the Ultimate Universe (the latter Jake is really into thanks to his Uncle Tim(my) loving Ultimate Spidey) and regularly playing co op on the Playstation games
5. Only once a month really and it’s mainly Fortnite. I can’t really see them playing COD or Apex not just because those two are more FPS centric which even if fictional in universe doesn’t sit that well with them for various reasons, but also for COD especially there egregious money practices from all that miscellaneous DLC, Lootboxes when they are a thing, battle passes, etc. it just doesn’t sit right even if technically Jake can be considered a millionaire’s kid at best
6. Personality. Full stop. Even if they’re aware of the more scandalous and fanservice side of true love, they have the content of a female’s character above physical appearance of any kind. Chris and Jake respect girls and women, plain and simple.

Request: Drabble in which Jake looks through some old stuff and finds a rather odd yet captivating item: a red tunic with a green scaly leotard, a black-yellow on its right side, a black domino mask, green gloves and finally green pixie boots. he decides to try the suit on
I want to apologize for how long this took! I’ve been so busy with school, and I made this way longer and convoluted than necessary. It’s definitely not a drabble anymore, and I added a lot of sibling banter, lol, I can’t resist. This was so much fun to make, I had so many ideas. Thank you so much for being patient, and I hope you enjoy!
I decided to deviate from my universe, while keeping some old things. Mar’i and Jake are still twins, and Mar’i can turn invisible.
"Go away, Jaki! This is my hiding spot!" Mar'i whispered-hissed at her brother. She glared at him through a jungle of coats and umbrellas in the armoire, her mouth in a tight frown.
"Oh, come on, Mar'i!" Jake cried. With a flair for the dramatic, he threw his hands up in the air. Of course, his annoying sister would take his favorite, top-secret hiding spot!
"Shhh!" she snapped, finger to her lips. Pink eyes flashed brightly at him. "Would you be quiet? Do you want Dad to find us?"
He pursed his lips and looked down the hall. Pretty soon, his dad would be done counting and be searching for them. Still, a great wrong had been committed in the eyes of Jake. "You took my hiding spot! Get out!" he seethed, just a decibel lower.
"Nuh-uh, it's not your hiding spot!" Mar'i shot back. "You don't own it!"
Jake smirked cockily and pointed a finger past her. "Uh, yeah, Mar'i, I do."
A deep, unamused frown settled on Mar'i's face as she noticed— in bright cerulean blue crayon— the word "Jake" hastily scribbled on the panel. "That means nothing! You don't own everything you put your name on."
He silently raged. "How am I not surprised a heathen like you-"
"-Heathen?! I watched you squirt an entire can of Easy Cheese in your mouth!"
"That was a long time ago. I’m a different man now."
"It was last week!"
"As I said, a long time ago," he retorted drolly. "Anyway, as I was saying— only heathens don't respect the sacred rules of hide-and-seek!"
"You're so ridiculous," she sighed, exhausted. "You act like I broke the law."
"Well, you might as well have. I'm hurt, Mar'i, really I am. I never thought you'd betray me like this. My own flesh and blood— my wombmate--"
"Ew, don't call me that!"
He clasped his hands together. "I think the only way to solve this and mend our broken relationship is for you to leave and find a new hiding spot."
Mar'i stared blankly at him. Jake was her favorite person in the entire universe, but there were times where she wanted to slap him. "I'm not leaving, Jaki."
"By the love of X'hal, you can turn invisible!" he argued.
"So? Dad's using heat-sensing goggles this time."
"Mar'i!"
"Hey, babe," their father's voice filtered in from downstairs. They stilled, eyes wide and locked on each other.
"Hello, my love. Are you looking for something?" they heard their mother ask him.
"Oh you know, just for two half-human, half-alien eight-year-olds? Have you seen them? They're like yay-high, black hair with orange skin? Got glowing green eyes?"
"Oh," Kory chuckled. "I think I know the two. Say, are they dangerous?"
"Very. The little rascals will eat all your cereal and blame it on an innocent larva."
"My, they sound like quite the dastardly duo," she mused. "I believe I saw them go upstairs. Please, proceed with caution."
Dick let out a laugh. "Don't worry, babe. I think I'm well-equipped to handle them; Batman raised me after all."
Mar'i snapped back her attention to Jake, panicked. "Go away, Jaki!" she nearly growled.
"But-" he tried to argue, but her hand shot out and closed the armoire door, effectively ending their discussion.
Frantic, Jake looked around for a new hiding spot. Under his bed? No, there was a monster. Behind the house plants? Nope, too obvious. In the air vent? Nah, he'd get stuck again. Finally, his eyes found the inconspicuous attic door.
He was like 90% sure it was haunted. Uncle Jay showed him and Mar'i a horror movie once, and he learned that attics were prime real estate for ghosts and couldn't be trusted.
But...
It would probably be a great hiding spot. His dad wouldn't expect it.
The creaking of the stairs interrupted his thoughts and effectively ended his inner turmoil. He dashed to the attic door and braved the darkroom.
"Oh wow," he said, looking around. The room was cramped, littered with boxes and other knickknacks. Moonlight filtered in through the port window. "Okay, ghosts, listen. I don't mean to trespass or anything. I just need a place to hide from my dad, alright? So no possessing me, okay? I'll only be here for a couple of minutes."
Slowly, he made his way through the clutter, hoping to find a nice nook to squeeze in. A thick layer of dust coated everything in the room, and it was not long before he started hacking. It was then that his left foot hit a meddlesome snag in the carpet, causing him to plummet down on a pile of boxes.
He let out a rather undignified squeak when his knee slammed into the ground. A flurry of Tamaranean curse words left his mouth; thank heavens, his mom was not around to hear him. "Stupid ghosts!" Jake spat. The crash was loud. His dad knew where he was now. "And stupid Mar'i for making me hide in this stupid, haunted attic!"
He went to glare at the confounding boxes, but he halted when he saw something interesting. His ire vanished, his head cocked slightly. He pulled himself up from the ground and went to analyze the contents of the fallen box closer, his hand alit with a low-energy starbolt.
Inside the unsuspecting box was a brightly colored uniform. Jake's eyes widened the size of saucers. Could this be? There was no way. But sure enough, he found the iconic scaly leotard and black domino mask. Yep, this was his father's old Robin uniform.
He stared at the red tunic with the utmost reverence; his thumb traced the R. Jake was so absorbed in the costume he failed to notice his sister hovering over him.
"Whatcha got there, Jaki?" she asked curiously, face inches from his.
He let out a squeal and jumped several feet in the air. He snarled, eyes ablaze in a blue fury. "Mar'i! Don't do that!"
She snickered, an eyebrow raised. "It's not my fault you're not observant."
"I was in stealth mode," he said defensively. He crossed his arms. "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be hiding in my hiding spot?"
She shrugged. "Dad found me pretty quick, so I decided to come to bother you."
Jake was surprised. "Wait, do you mean he didn't hear me fall?"
"Nah, I told him you were being a cheater and hiding outside. Thankfully, you decided to be a klutz after he left," she informed him. She frowned when she noticed the betrayed look on his face. "What? I thought you'd be happy I saved you!"
"I think it's funny you pick and choose when to be a loyal sister."
She smiled. "Gotta keep you on your toes, Jaki. Now, what's that?"
Jake followed her pointed look at the costume. He showed her excitedly. "I think it's Dad's old Robin costume!"
Green eyes rounded. "What? No way!"
"Yes, way!" he dazzled. "Look at the insignia!"
"Whoa," she breathed. She fingered the black-yellow cape gingerly. Her head snapped up. "Come on, put it on!"
"W-what?" He gave her a bemused look.
"I know you want to," she said wryly. She held up the tunic and pushed it towards her brother. "I bet you'd look just like dad."
"Yeah, but..." he trailed off. Honestly, he did not need much convincing. Jake had seen pictures of his dad in his early crimefighting days, but a thought stopped him. "I don't know, Mar'i..."
"Why not?"
"Well, Damian's Robin."
"And?"
"And I don't want to-- I don't know. I guess I don't want to send the wrong message," Jake answered. He sighed somberly. "Besides, it's not like I could ever be Robin anyway. I'm weird."
"What the heck?" Mar'i spluttered. "You think you can't be Robin because you have powers?"
"Robins don't have powers, Mar'i," he said, dejected. "They don't fly or shoot starbolts."
She snorted. She scooted closer to her twin, looking at him intently. "And? Anyone with a brave heart can be Robin, and as I can see, you have one."
"But-"
"No buts, Jaki," she cut him off. Mar'i was not going to allow her brother to put himself down. "I like you just the way you are. I think shooting starbolts and flying is super neat!"
"You're biased," he chuckled. Mar'i's words instantly made him feel better, though.
Her mouth blossomed into a silly grin. "Well, yeah, duh. I know if I'm awesome, you have to be. Now, put it on!"
"Okay, but turn around. I need privacy!"
"Yay!" she piped before spinning around. Her arms and legs tingled with excitement.
"Okay, I think I'm ready now," he told her, a bit apprehensive.
Mar'i whipped around, nearly knocking Jake down in the process. She almost burst out in awe when she saw him there, proudly donning their father's uniform. "Wow, Jaki! It looks so good on you!"
He flushed. His eyes, now concealed by a domino mask, peeked down at his body. It had been a bit awkward in some places; Jake did not care for his legs being so exposed, but otherwise, it fit like a glove. "Really?" he asked, swooshing his cape back and forth.
Her head bobbed up and down. "You look just like Dad when he was young!"
"What do you mean by that, Mar'i? I'm still young!"
Jake and Mar'i were startled by the voice. They spun around in the direction of the attic door and spotted their dad: the first-ever Boy Wonder and best pancake-maker-this-side-of-the-galaxy-- Dick Grayson.
"Dad!" the siblings exclaimed in perfect unison.
Dick chuckled. "And what are you two glowsticks doing in the attic? I thought we were playing hide and-"
He stopped mid-sentence when he noticed Jake. His eyes widened as they absorbed, his mouth agape.
Jake panicked, and shame surged through him. "I'm sorry, Dad!" he said hastily. "I-I was just hiding upstairs a-and I fell a-and I found your old costume!"
"Jake-"
"A-and I knew I shouldn't have, b-but Mar'i said I should-"
Jake paused when he felt his father's hand on his shoulders. He looked up and met his father's loving gaze. "Jake, calm down," Dick comforted. "It's okay."
Jake swallowed. "You're not mad?"
"No, of course not, son," he responded, genuine.
"Doesn't he look cool, Dad?" Mar'i piped up, a goofy grin on her face.
Dick smiled tenderly and moved his hand to caress Jake's face. He could not have predicted what seeing his son wear his old Robin uniform would do to him. His heart soared with love and pride.
"Yes, Mar'i, he looks pretty cool," he agreed.
Jake beamed and matched his sister's goofy grin. He thought his dad would be mad at him, but thankfully, he was the furthest from mad.
"But don't think this means you can go out crimefighting," Dick added quickly.
"Aww, Dad!" Jake whined.
Dick wagged his finger at him. "Don't 'aww, Dad' me! You may have the look, but you're not old enough."
Jake pouted. "I'm not a baby anymore, Dad!"
"Aww, but you're still my baby.” He gave Jake a quick kiss to the temple. “Now, come on, you two. Mom made dinner, and I can’t wait to see the look on her face when she sees you."
"Did she burn the food again?" Mar'i grimaced. She loved her mother dearly, but she was not the most adept in the kitchen.
"Yeah, I don't know if I can eat burnt lasagna again, Dad."
"Now, now, glowsticks. Mom spent all day working on this meal!" Dick assured them. He escorted them out of the attic. "It's a dish from Tamaran. I'm sure it'll be wonderful."
Mar'i whispered to her brother, "I like when Mom cooks. We always get McDonald's afterward."
"Or food poisoning."

Making Conner explicitly gay, and Kyle bisexual, and then having them date would cost DC like no money and would build off a foundation that they have set since the 90’s.
Like I love them but they aren’t a listers or anything, they could totally get away with it but noooooo we can’t have two men in a healthy relationship it’s always gonna be the break up tango because no comic ever has ever succeeded in keeping a couple married, and people stopped having intrest in them because they were a stable relationship.
Like it’s so funny because Marvel has a lot of successful marrieds and dc so stubbornly hates the idea of tying down their heroes! Again best timeline would have been Kori and dick being married and being the Sue and Reed of dc with their two kids, like? The power that a team consisting of Mar’i, Jake, Jai, Irey, and Lian would have!!!! But no we can’t have fun here, it’s Gotta be a carousel of relationship drama Ugh.
Sorry this got salty. Thank god for the flashes being the only super family to be a functional family and having functional loving relationships with their wives and husbands. Like god....I have to Stan.
Yeah yeah and I swear when you read their comics it's like the writers wanted to make it canon. Like I can't prove it but neither Kyle nor Connor have been written with their friends like they were written with one another 🤷♀️
God that's why Bendis really moved to DC he wouldn't have to write anymore married couples. Rip Peter/MJ god I hope they're really undoing OMD with the newest plot anyways I digress
No one likes the carousel of relationship drama but Didio is a shitheel who thought too many of the Leaguers look old. and if Dick Grayson is almost 30 that means Bruce is almost 50 so you know he freaked and New52.
But yeah god Kori and Dick being the Sue and Reed of DC is honestly something that can be so personal. I'm ready to go for bat for Reed just as much as Johnny at this point. Yeah he's committed some war crimes but in Marvel who hasn't?
Yes please to the Flashes though DC tried their damned hardest to break them into pieces. But our babies remained strong together

randumbteahouse replied to your post “I’m in a bad mood and I want to write fluff people Please send me...”
BatCat babysitting little Mar'i and/or Jake Grayson?
BatCat | DickKory | Plotless unashamed fluff | 1,8k | Read on AO3
“Hi, B!” Greeted Dick opening the door of his condo.
Bruce gave him his small barely there smile in answer to Dick’s huge all white teeth one.
“Hello, chum.”
Dick then turned to Bruce’s companion.
“And how are you, beautiful?”
Selina raised her gloved hands to Dick’s face, pulling him for a loud kiss full on the lips, to which he made crunched his entire face blushing horrendously to her delight.
“I’m wonderful, darling. So glad to see you. He’s so handsome, Bruce, look at him.”
“I’m looking.” Agreed Bruce with a glint of amusement in his eyes.
“Where’s the little kitten? And that gorgeous wife of yours?”
“They are in the nursery” Selina took her woollen coat off and handed wordlessly to Bruce, walking across Dick following his instruction, Bruce moved inside too, starting to undress from his heavy overcoat as well, but was interrupted, buy Dick’s arms hugging from the middle, he patted the younger man awkwardly on the head. “Thank you for coming.”
Bruce just grunted. Dick, freed his emotionally stunted dad and closed the door.
“Where…?” Asked Bruce holding the clothing.
“Oh, the coat hanger fell under the weight of Kory’s collection of handbags and I haven’t put the new on the wall, just throw your coats… Anywhere.”
Bruce raised an eyebrow to that noticing the apartment around him. Dick had never been an organized child, he had impeccable work ethics but his living grounds had always being a reason for arguments when he was growing up, and adding a baby in it… Well, he knew now why Dick invite Alfred to babysit yet. It was not a complete chaos, but it was far from acceptable by the butler’s standards.
“Come! We wanted you guys to see her while she was awake, but she woke up this morning super early for no reason, she was so full of energy, flying everywhere I think she crashed now.” He laughed.
“Flying?”
“Oh! I didn’t tell you?”
But they had reached the nursery door.
Kory was sitting on a very comfortable velvet chair, Alfred’s present. The baby on her arms had a darker shade of golden skin than her mother’s, and her long black eyelashes making shadows under her closed eyes and she suckled on her mother’s breast. Her little plump hand was holding firmly to Selina’s finger.
“Bruce, look how big she is…” Said Selina whispering.
“Greetings.” Koriand’r smiled to Bruce.
He nodded his head to her, approaching the women.
Bruce leaned in and with the back of two fingers, brushed softly the dark locks of the baby’s hair.
Selina turned her gaze from the baby to her husband, to others maybe he looked stoic as always, but by the way his Adam’s apple bobbed she could see the huge emotional response. She rubbed his bicep with her free hand.
“Isn’t she gorgeous?”
Bruce cleaned his throat.
“Yes.” He answered, his voice croaky and deeper than the usual.
Selina and Kory exchanged an amused look.
“Do you want to hold her?” Asked Kory.
“Aren’t you feeding her now?”
“Oh no, she is done.” Smiled Kory. “She is already asleep.”
“I don’t want to disturb her.”
“She sleeps heavily. No need to worry.” Kory pulled her nipple from the baby’s mouth and covered herself, floated so she was in level with Bruce, and gently put the baby in his arms. Her daughter looking so little next to her massive grandfather.
Mar’i cooed softly getting comfortable but did not wake.
Dick sniffled loudly and the eyes turned to him.
“I’m sorry guys, I just-” he choked; Kory and Selina hugged him by each of his sides. Kory giggled. “Don’t laugh at my expense, Kory, not cool.” She kept giggling but tried to muffle it by kissing his hair. “I still can hear it!”
“I’m going to get ready.” Announced Kory untangling herself from the double hug and turning to her parents-in-law. “Please let yourselves feel at home, and thank you so much for doing this for us.”
“You’re welcome darling.” Said Selina as they watched Kory float out of the room.
“She’s still flying.” Noticed Bruce. When Kory hit the fourth trimester – turns out half-tamaranean pregnancies were a lot longer than human ones – her feet were so swollen that she just flied everywhere. After Dick commented on that Bruce started sending soft tall pillows so, she could put her feet up, compression stockings which somehow were the exactly shade of Kory’s alien skin, and one time Dick arrived home to find a whole spa and masseuse staff that he had not booked.
“Oh, she’s not in pain anymore… She’s just happy. Can’t keep her feet on the ground. My neck is cramping from looking up so much.” But by his thrilled tone he didn’t seen annoyed by his balloon wife at all.
“Where are you taking her, honey?” Asked Selina still hugging Dick and making little circles in his back.
“Nothing very fancy. We mostly just want to have an uninterrupted meal, then walk by Byke Beach a little before coming home to save you guys. And as Kory said, thank you so much, Mar’i a sweet baby and she was all we had to worry about it would be easy peasy, but things pile up and we could use a breather.”
“It’s our pleasure, darling. Bruce and I needed a break too, and you father have missed you so much, you should see him showing the pictures you sent us to everyone, he is so proud.”
“Is that true, B?” Asked Dick beaming.
Bruce cleaned his throat loudly and then looked down to the baby terrified he had disturbed her, but she didn’t even fuss. When he looked up again Selina and Dick were looking at him with glazed eyes.
He cleaned his throat again, this time in a softer tone.
“I can’t stop looking at her, Bruce, she’s so cute.” Said Selina perched on Mar’i crib. Dick and Kory were gone, and with the baby sleeping, Selina found out that there wasn’t actually a lot to do.
“Let the baby sleep, Selina.” Mumbled Bruce typing something on his phone, he had extracted Selina five times from the nursery in the forty minutes Dick and Kory were gone.
“What are you doing?”
Selina clenched her eyes, Bruce looked away, guilty as hell and pocketed the phone.
“You were working on your phone wasn’t you?”
“No.”
“Oh my god, Bruce!”
“I wasn’t. Look.” He showed her his phone. “Tim sent me a photo of a frog in a skateboard.”
Selina’s face was completely voided of emotion for a fraction of a second before she let out a loud laugh… That was followed by baby cries.
“Shit.”
The baby was not stopping crying. Bruce thought that she would recognise them from all the facetime calls, he was wrong. Mar’i knew that he and Selina were not her parents, and she was not happy about it.
“Is she is pain? Do you think she is in pain?”
“I don’t think so. Dick said she was in perfect health, but it’s hard to know without proper medical equipment.”
“Try feeding her again.”
Bruce took the warmed milk bottle – noticing the colour was darker than regular human milk supposed to be, it looked like light caramel. He made a mental note to take a sample to look to it in his lad later – and offered to the baby girl, but she slapped the bottle away with a strength no human six months old would have. No adult either. The bottle flew across the room and broke into the drywall.
“I’ll pay for that.”
“How don’t you know how to make a baby stop crying? You are a huge nerd, you know everything! Didn’t you raise like fifty-two kids or something?”
“They were never that young.” And to be fair, when they cried, he mostly handed them to Alfred and later Dick.
“We should call Dick.”
“No.”
“What?”
“We are solving this, Selina.”
“How?!”
Bruce took a deep breath and tried to remember everything he knew about pre-language children. He read some articles to try to communicate with Cassandra years ago, mostly applied to babies and was not useful to him at the time, but maybe it would be useful now. He recalled something about tonic dialogue, that meant the first form of communication was from touch. Basically, holding a baby while having a tense body was not good, because the baby could feel the discomfort and respond to this with distress. So, he tried to relax. Lower his heartrate. Mar’i didn’t stop crying, but her loud screaming and the fussing were gone.
“Good! Good! I don’t know what you did but it’s working.”
“Try to distract her.”
“By doing what?”
“I don’t know Selina, why do I have to know everything?”
“You are the Batman!”
“Not now, I’m not.”
“Ba mum” mumbled Mar’i between cried.
Bruce and Selina exchanged a shocked look.
“Yes, kitten. Granddaddy is Batman.”
“Ba mum!” The baby said angrily, her bluish green eyes flooded with tears.
Selina sent Bruce a terrified look. He just shook his head, also having no idea. Mar’i’s lip trembled and the crying returned with revenge.
“Hold her a little.”
“Me?!”
But before she could protest further, the baby was already in her arms, bright orange, sobbing against her shirt spreading snot and tears everywhere.
Bruce was calling someone.
“But you said you were not calling her parents!”
“I’m not. Alfred, finally, I have a predicament.”
He was silent for a while, his face rumpled in concentration, then he turned off with a “thank you”.
“What did he say?”
“Mar’i has a favourite toy. It’s a handmade Batman doll made by Damian. That’s what she mean by ‘Ba mum’.”
“I want to gush about how cute this whose sentence was but she is pulling my hair pretty hard, and I’m grieving my shirt, this was Prada’s limited edition. Let’s find that doll.”
Half an hour later and no sign of the doll, Bruce was going mad, Selina’s head was aching, and Mar’i proved that her human-tamaranean hybrid lungs were very efficient. They fell heavily on the living room’s sofa.
“Bruce… What do we do?”
He just gave her a defeated look.
“Ba mum! Ba mum! BA MUM!”
“Oh kitten, I don’t know where your ‘Ba mum’ went.” Said Selina drying the baby’s tears then her head shot up. “I have an idea.”
“I’m willing to try anything.”
“You brought a suit, didn’t you?”
Bruce pretended not to know what she was talking about.
“I’ve brought changes of clothing, yes.”
“You know what I mean.”
“Selina…”
“So what we can’t find her doll? You are the real deal!” She said exasperated.
“That’s not what my suit if for, Selina.”
“I couldn’t care less what your suit is for” she covered the baby’s ears “we had sex plenty of times while you were in that suit don’t pretend you never abused its function before.”
He sighed.
Two hours after Kory and Dick returned home to find Selina sleeping sitting on the sofa, Bruce in his full Batman gear also sleeping, but lying on his back and using Selina’s lap as a pillow, and Mar’i belly down on her grandfather’s chest, drool all over the bat insignia.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonic dialogue is a real thing I learnt on uni. I have no idea what the frog in a skateboard was about, I just like the idea of Bruce’s kids sending him random memes and funny pictures.

Stardust
The moans stopped. Finally, after what felt like a day, Starfire or Tamaran finally gave birth to her second offspiring. A bounchoing baby boy. To say that her husband Dick Grayson was happy would be a massive understatement. He never imagined having a child, let alone two of them. Weirdly enough, he lacked any concern or worry, like he had when his lovely Mar’i first entered his life. He felt more confident about raising this child, that he could do right by him.
Speaking of Mar’i, she couldn’t get her big round eyes off her newborn brother, her expression the definition of awe. The sight of her positively tiny brother was beyond her wild imagination. The faint sound of his heartbeat, the little fists he made as he slept, all of it was an unforgettable experience for Mar’i. She instantly took a shine to the newest member of the family.
«He’s… so small.»
Starfire couldn’t help but chuckle at her remark. Although tired from the effort, her face was as expressive as ever, her auburn mane of hair siplled all over the pillows of the hospital bed. «Yes, he is.»
Mar’i handed over her baby brother back to Starfire. «Was I so small too?»
Dick’s grin grew, showing off his pearly whites. «Yes, you were.»
Mar’i hummed in response, propping herself on her father’s lap as he sat next to Starfire’s bed. They were all enthralled by this, the miracle of life.
Dick though this was a good as time as any to ask the question, bringing his hand on top of his wife’s. «So… what are we gonna call him?» Mar’i had ears and eyes wide open, awaiting a response.
Starfire was deep in thought after she heard that question, her brows furrowing in contemplation. «Well, I was thinking we could continue our theme of naming our children after our own familes by naming him something similar to the father of my mother, In’Jerek.»
Dick scratched his chin a bit. «It sounds a bit like Jake. Maybe that would be good?»
Starfire’s eyes widened slightly at that. «It sounds wonderful. Jake it is, then.»
Dick turned over to Mar’i, who was nervously playing with her thumbs. «Mar’i, say hi to your brother Jake.»
She waved her arm softly and whispered as to not wake him up. «Hiii, Jake.»
Dick chuckled at that. He couldn’t believe his family was growing like this! It seemed like yesterday that he was still a bumbling teenager who could barely talk to his alien teammate, and yet here he is now, a father of two children, with the woman of his dreams at his side.
He played a bit with Starfire’s hair, giving her comfort after her ordeal. «By the way, what does In’Jerek mean?»
Starfire’s emerald eyes turned to meet his cobalt ones. «It means ‘spirit of the dust’. My ancestors were nomads who travelled from deserts to jungles across Tamaran, until they built the kingdom. It’s supposed to be a title that brings hope and determination even in a wasteland filled with dust.»
Dick pondered all that as he took baby Jake in his arms, rocking him gnetly back and forth. «Kinda like how you named Mar’i after the Tamaranean meaning of my mother’s name, saying that she’s a star shining in the night.»
Mar’i popped up from her spot at her father’s lap in sudden realization. «That’s why you call me ‘Starshine’?»
Star giggled at her reaction to that little deduction. «Yes, that is correct.»
Mar’i raised her head proudly, wiping her nose with her pointer finger. «Well, I’m gonna call him ‘Stardust from now on! It’ll be MY sweet nickname for him!»
The whole family laughed softly at this declaration. «That sounds beautiful, dear.» said Dick.
Mar’i got closer to her baby brother, whispering in his ear. «I’m gonna take care of you no matter what, Stardust.»
The infant’s eyues slowly opened, as if he were responding to the name she gave him.He spread his arms as if he wanted to touch Mar’i, who eagerly let out a hand for him.
She’d be at his side forever, just like her parents would.

Robstar week Day 2: Stardust
I actually enjoyed writing about today’s prompt, even if it was a little different. Hope you enjoy!
Finally.
Kory floated carefully down the stairs; her gaze fixed upon the nursery door. She had finally gotten six-month-old Jake to sleep, and Mar’i was safely tucked in tight in the room next door. Everything seemed perfectly set up for a good night’s sleep, but Kory swore her children could sense when their parents relaxed.
She reached the bottom of the stairs and let out a sigh of relief. Perhaps tonight Jake would allow her sleep for a little more than two hours. She entered the living room and found her husband focused on his laptop, piles of paper crowding the little coffee table where he worked.
She came up behind him and draped her arms around his neck, her head resting on his shoulder.
Kory kissed his cheek. “What are you working on, my love?”
Dick absentmindedly stroked one of her hands, not taking his eyes off the screen.
“Stuff.” He replied tonelessly.
“Stuff.” She repeated. “Care to elaborate?”
“Uh-huh. Love you too, Star.”
She sighed. He was in one of those moods again, fully concentrated on his work. And when he got started, it usually took him a good couple of hours to snap him out of it again.
Kory leaned in close and whispered in his ear. “Well, I suppose I could not kiss you for a week. Perhaps then we could talk about “stuff.”
“Yeah I’ll be up a sec.”
She groaned, finally resulting to drastic measures. “Then I expect to see you at my wedding next weekend. I am leaving for Tamaran in the morning.”
She started to walk away, but Dick caught her hand and pulled her onto the couch, catching her so her face was inches from his.
“And who is this suitor who dares to steal you away from me?”
“I believed you were not listening.”
“I am now.”
She laughed and kissed him. “Perhaps I shall reconsider.”
She rose herself up to a sitting position and rested against Dick’s shoulder.
“What is this?” she questioned. “This does not look like a case.”
It’s my will.” He replied.
Kory’s eyebrows creased with confusion. “Richard, ‘will’ is a grammatical function used for the future-tense.”
He laughed. “Yeah, but a will, the physical thing, are like instructions on when you die.”
“When you die?” she questioned.
“Yeah, it tells the lawyer or your family what to do with your money and possessions. Like here in this section, this delegates who will take custody of Mar’i and Jake if something happens to us.”
“You are implying that something will?”
“No, it’s just a precaution. It’s good to be prepared.”
“Ah.” Satisfied with his answer, she squinted to see the screen. “So who did you put to care for our children?”
“That’s what I’ve been trying to figure out.” Dick mused. “I don’t know who would be best suited. Bruce is the closest living relative, but it doesn’t create the most ideal living situation, especially if the kids are still young.”
“Why not Rachel and Garfield? They live close enough to Gotham so they can visit Bruce daily, and it would create a steady home environment. Besides, I am certain wherever they live, they will have many people caring for them.”
Dick looked at her with surprise. “You’ve got a point there. Maybe you should write the will.”
“Or just let me into that fortress you call your mind occasionally. What does this section address?” She pointed to a small paragraph near the top of the screen.
“Oh, that just instructs on how we’re going to be buried.”
“That is easy.” Kory stated. “We shall have a traditional Tamaranean funeral for warriors.”
Dick raised an eyebrow. “And what exactly does that entail?”
“Simple. Our bodies will be burned in the Furnaces of Glorthrog the All-Seeing, and after a glorious play will be depicted of our deaths by the royal theatre in front of the entire planet. Then we shall be carried to the top of the highest mountain and a Zobgar will be sacrificed in our honor. And finally, our dust shall be released into the universe. And then—” she stopped at Dick’s expression. “What is it?”
“It’s uh, definitely unique. You sure we can’t just have a quiet, normal Earth funeral?”
Kory scrunched her nose with distaste. “You mean placing the dead in wooden boxes and leaving them underground to rot and disintegrate?”
“Well when you put it that way—”
“You do not prefer the traditions of my beloved planet?” she accused, Dick quickly releasing he was about to lose a fight with his sleep-deprived wife.
“I didn’t mean it that way!” He defended himself. “I just meant, that uh, maybe it’s not the best thing for Mar’i and Jake to watch.”
Kory’s expression softened. “You are correct. It would not be wise to have them rewatch our deaths.”
“How about we compromise?” He proposed. “We can have a funeral here on Earth, with tombstones so they can visit us, and then our ashes can be sent to Tamaran so we can be nuked into space and whatnot.”
“Alright, I concur.” Kory smiled, but her eyes told Dick a different story.
“What’s wrong?” He asked, his full attention now focused on her.
“It is…sad. To think about what will happen if we someday pass unexpectedly. To think what will happen to the children.”
“Yeah, it is.” He agreed. “But it’s just a precaution. It’s not like we’re planning on it. It’s very unlikely to happen.”
“It was unlikely for our parents as well.” She stated dejectedly while avoiding his gaze.
“Hey,” He took her face his hands. “Look. I can’t promise that it won’t happen. But we’re going to do everything we can to make sure it doesn’t. And on the very off chance that it does, we’ve already set up a plan for Mar’i and Jake. We’re not leaving them to fend for themselves, okay?”
“I do not wish to lose them, Richard. I could not bear it.”
He pulled her into a tight embrace as she rested her head against his chest. He stoked her crimson curls, watching her shake ever so slightly. Dick was well aware that in their line of work, they could be killed at any moment. He didn’t like the thought of leaving their children anymore than she did, but worrying themselves to pieces on the worst possible outcome wouldn’t do them any good. No one ever won at that game.
“Enough of this will nonsense.” He said, closing the laptop. He scooped up Kory off the couch and threw her over his shoulders.
“Richard, wha—?”
“No more tears for tonight. And you can’t go to bed until I get a smile out of you.” He spun her around in circles across their living room, her laughter driving out whatever gloom had been there before.
“Richard, s-stop!” she shrieked before they finally both collapsed on the couch, breathless with laughter. Dick slid an arm under Kory’s waist, appreciating the amusement that had crept back into her eyes.
“You okay in there, Princess?”
“I am now.”
“Good, because I’m looking forward to an evening alone with you.” He pulled her into a kiss, both lost in the moment until Jake’s faint cries reached their ears. Kory groaned.
“Well, you, me and Jake.” He decided. “Don’t worry, I’ll get him.”
He rose from the couch and was about to make his way to the stairs when their six-year-old daughter appeared around the corner.
“Mommy, Jake is crying.” Mar’i stated, clutching a stuffed elephant.
Dick gave a stern look. “Young lady, you’re supposed to be in bed.”
“But Jake is awake.” She pouted. “Can I stay up too? It no fair!” She stuck out her bottom lip and pleaded with the largest puppy dog eyes she could muster.
Dick sighed and looked helplessly at Kory, who was trying not to laugh.
“Come on my little bumgorf.” She said. “One last story for you and Jake before bed.”
Dick picked Mar’i up and swung her onto his shoulders. “Come on, Starshine. It’s daddy’s turn to tell the story.”
“Oh yes, tell her the one about Larry.” Kory chimed as they ascended the stairs to Jake’s room.
“I’m not telling her about Larry.”
The laptop lay forgotten on the table below.
_____________________________________________________________
It was unusually cold on Tamaran that night. Despite her supposed increased tolerance to cold weather, Mar’i shivered. She struggled to climb over the craggy rocks and jumbled vegetation to reach the top. She didn’t feel like flying tonight.
She slipped and would have fallen flat on her face if her brother hadn’t of caught her.
“Careful.” Jake said, breaking the silence between them. “Are you sure you don’t want me to carry that?”
Mar’i sighed. “Sure.” She relented the urn she carried to her brother. “We’re almost there anyway.”
Jake took her hand and smiled softly at her, guiding her along the way. Even if he was her annoying younger brother, she always found comfort in his strong and steady presence.
It was a breathtaking view as they reached the top. The cloudless sky opened up to reveal multicolored planets and comets, with billions upon billions of stars.
“You ready, Sis?”
Mar’i looked over to see Jake cradling the urn, his eyes staring straight into hers like he could see into her soul. There was no hiding anything from this guy.
She felt tears prick her eyes, and Jack enveloped her in his arms.
“I know,” he sighed. “I miss them too.”
They stayed that way for a while until Mar’i released his hold, wiping her eyes.
“I’m ready.”
She helped Jake lift the urn above them before turning it on its side, releasing the contents into the air. The ashes poured out like mist, like shimmering dust.
“Goodbye.” Mar’i whispered, feeling Jake put his arm around her shoulders. “I miss you.”
The ashes seemed to dance, chasing itself higher and higher in the galaxies above. The stars seemed to shine brighter. Despite herself, Mar’i smiled, seeing them both released into the universe.
And into the stars.

Getting to Know More
Fun facts about Terry McGinnis:
He was a notorious middle child in a HUGE family: Dick, Jason, Athanasia, Cassandra, Tim, Duke, Damian, Alina, himself, Helena, Thomas, Bruce Jr., and Matt. His extended family included Dick’s wife, and Dick’s kids, Thomas, Mar’i, and Jake; Jason’s adopted daughter Lian Harper; Tim’s wife, Stephanie; and Duke’s wife; Claire Clover. His extended, extended family also had Uncle Luke’s and Aunt Babs’ kids; Carrie and Nell, Bette Kane, Grampa Lucius, and, well, at this point one got the picture; huge ass colony of Bats living in Gotham here.
He shredded it where skateboard, hockey, motocross were concerned, but he had the coordination of a spaz for baseball and surfing.
His mom was awesome on epic proportions. Seriously, he didn’t know how she did it but she redefined super mom.
Another thing to know, he totally did not have a crush on the Princess of Atlantis, he was only going with her to this movie because he happened to like it, and because Mareena was the only chick he knew who didn’t like chick flicks (Mar’i, Helena, Lian, and Max could all go Suck It! He was going to see a damn action flick if it fucking killed him this year!) Mareena just also happened to like action flicks, which was why she was here with him.
Standing there in the theatre line he tried not to stare at Mareena who was hiding her identity under a hoodie she had stolen from his room when she had walk up to the Manor with a movie for them to see. Mareena did not have friends in Atlantis who appreciated the arts of action flicks. Terry didn’t care though, he was no longer being that weirdo who was going to a theatre alone. Also, she was a chick Dana could not get jealous over and drive him insane. He would think college meant that the drama would die off with the age grow up, but apparently not. And he was not getting blue balls because Dana was having imaginary jealous fits over imaginary slights.
“Why can the line not move faster,” Mareena huffed.
“Because the line is moving this pace because people are slow. Besides, we’re ahead of the line for the premiere line,” he jabbed his thumb over his shoulder to show her. Mareena frowned.
“You people are annoying,” Mareena said icily.
“How are we annoying, you wanted to go to this movie, so I’m going with you to see this movie,” he said.
“I would’ve asked someone else, but,” she started.
“There’s no one but Don and Dawn, and we both know there’s no way in hell that Barry and Iris would let them come.”
“I could’ve gone to New Krypton,” Mareena argued.
“Oh yes, because watching their movies is so entertaining,” Terry rolled his eyes.
“You land dwellers have no appreciation for the fine arts of moving with a flow,” Mareena argued.
“Pipe down, and don’t draw attention of the paparazzi,” he snapped when her hood started falling off of her head, which had him pulling it more firmly over the green hair of hers. Only disadvantage of going to the movies with Mareena was the fact her hair glowed in the dark. But other than that, trade offs, made it worth it!
“You do realize they’d be more inclined to notice you and not me, right?”
“I’m wearing a Gotham Knights cap, and I am not royalty, I’m just one of a hundred Wayne kids,” Terry point out.
“I thought you were a Prince,” Mareena said.
“No, I’m a Wayne,” he said. “Not royalty.”
“You are also…” she held up her index fingers by her head and smiled a bit.
“Yeah, but that doesn’t count,” he shrugged. Dick had been Batman, Jason had briefly been to save Dick’s wedding, Cass currently was, Damian was next. It wasn’t anything special anymore, it wasn’t special in the family he belonged in. Though B was still the control freak behind the scenes for them so technically B was still the Bat.
“Why not?”
“Cause B’s the big man in charge.”
“Your dad is in a wheelchair,” Mareena pointed out.
“Partial paralyses is not a disability, it just means his legs have to take a break sometimes and Mom has to push him around, it’s not abnormal to what normally happens with him,” he shrugged.
“You guys have issues,” Mareena stated.
Terry merely shrugged. “Dad’s fine, we’re fine, it’s all fine!” he snorted.
“Last time you said that everything was on fire,” Mareena stated.
“Let me restate we’re fine. But mostly keep your hair away so I don’t have to explain to Dana why the hell I’m seen with another woman.” Terry stated.
“Ah, the nefarious Dana, why are you still dating that woman?” Mareena asked. “She was bratty when you were a teen, she’s worse now.”
“Not all of us get fairy tale romances,” Terry shrugged. “Besides, I like sex, sex is a great relief to the stress of everything.”
“You sound like a cad.”
“You should hear my sisters talk,” he shrugged. Mar’i, Helena, Max, and Lian were way worse than him about the sex talks, girls were all about feelings, and emotions and connections, it was annoying, and they always talked about it and guys! Terry probably knew more about women than the average guy and it was a disturbing amount information his sisters had given him. And just to clarify, he thought of Mar’i, Lian and Max as his sisters because he had known them since he was in diapers! It was hard to think of them as anything remotely close to something other than sisters.
“And you shouldn’t knock down romance,” Mareena stated. “Your family has the most epic love stories according to my father. Other than maybe Diana and Steve’s.”
“You’re nuts!” he sputtered.
“Am not, the story of B and Selina, Dick and Kori, Jason and Raven, Tim and Stephanie, B and Talia,” she stated. “Epic romances.”
“That’s just gross, and disturbing to think about my family’s love lives,” he grimaced.
“You guys are secret sweethearts I bet,” Mareena decided with a cheeky smile.
“We are the Knight! We are the Terror of Nightmares! We are NOT Sweethearts! Even Alina is even an epic of epic badasses,” he argued. His phone buzzed and he pulled it out to see the text was from his mom.
“What’s up?”
“After the movie we need to go get Matt, Carrie, Tommy and Nell from school. Babs and Luke had to go to Africa,” he said.
“Oh.”
“So we’ll get them, get a slice, and then I’ll drop you off, or are you tubing?” he asked.
“Why would I be tubing?”
“Cause it’s up or down with you,” he retorted.
“Can I stay? I haven’t hung around the surface too much, and I do not want to go to the Tower,” she said.
“Yeah. Julia will help us set up a room for you,” Terry said. Julia had come to Gotham recently because Alfred was sick.
“Who is Julia?” Mareena asked.
“Julia is Alfred’s daughter,” he answered.
“Alfred is not B’s father?” she said in bizarre wonderment.
“Uh… yeah, not a secret,” he pointed out. “Alfred is awesome, and he’s totally grandpa, but he’s not blood.” Terry shrugged.
“WHAT!?” Mareena sputtered. Terry jumped a bit as he stared at her bewildered expressioned.
“What!?”
“He’s not blood!?”
“No, I mean, like ninety percent of my family isn’t blood.”
“Really?”
“Yeah,” he shrugged. “It’s not news.”
“I…” she started. “I always thought you were related,” he said.
“Really?”
“Black hair, blue eyes, ungodly pale.”
“What about Duke or Damian!?” he sputtered.
“Okay, so you don’t all look alike,” she rolled her eyes.
“Exactly, and we are all pretty much adopted. Only Athanasia, Damian, Alina, Helena, Tommy, Junior, Matt and I are actually B’s blood kids.”
“I thought you were just… you know, cause you’re a huge family and dad says B started young, really young, so I just assumed,” she shrugged.
“It’s all public record,” he shrugged. “B hasn’t been shy about it. Dick, Babs, Jason, Cass, Tim, Duke, Steph, technically and kind of, Harper, Cullen, Bette, and Renee.”
“I just thought you were related, and I thought you were also, you know,” she shrugged innocently.
“What else did you think we were!?” He sputtered.
“Vampires,” she said innocently.
“I hate dad for starting that rumor,” Terry muttered sourly.
“That one is funny though!” She persisted. “Hal told me, before I met you guys, that you were all demons.”
“Well, Rae is,” he shrugged.
“I thought your dad was big anti- anything that isn’t human marrying into my family,” Mareena said.
“Luci made valid points which had B accepting the fact marrying into a family as divine and powerful as Rae’s is a… you know, it’s kind of a divine honor,” Terry shrugged. “Besides, I didn’t know they weren’t married until they were officially married.”
“You didn’t know they weren’t married?” Mareena asked.
“They’ve been together since I was in diapers,” Terry shrugged.
“Really?”
“Yes really. I’m pretty sure they were the ones who found me,” Terry said.
“I’m learning more about you than I ever thought possible.”
“All of this is actually public record.”
“Really?” she asked skeptically.
“My biological mother was Mary McGinnis, she was married to Warren McGinnis, they died in a car crash when I was three days old and they were driving home from the hospital. I’m technically property of A.R.G.U.S. so Waller took me in, Jason found me about a year later,” Terry explained.
“That’s weird,” she decided.
“No, what’s weirder is the fact that Matt is my full brother,” Terry stated. “Mary and Warren were dead five years before Matt was even conceived, and he’s my full brother.”
“What?”
“Yeah.”
“I thought you were B’s blood son,” Mareena said carefully.
“I am. Waller injected a serum into Warren McGinnis’ DNA to scramble his own DNA to match with Bruce’s. Warren was a chimera essentially thanks to Waller’s tinkering,” Terry said. “I’m a ‘clone’ of Bruce’s in a way or I was supposed to be with what Waller set up, and I’m his son, but NO, he did not get involved in the conception of me or my blood brother Matt. He’s the genetic material for us. He’s still Dad though since he’s well, Dad,” Terry shrugged.
“That’s complicated.”
“That’s my family. Also, completely public record,” he shrugged.
“You’re not normal,” she said icily.
“What!? I’m completely normal! I’m going to a movie, and with you no less, in broad daylight, and I’m not turning to ash because of the sun either!” he smiled.
“You’re sounding like a assbutt,” she muttered.
“Asshole,” he corrected. “And you started it.”
“What did you expect from my family?” she asked.
“Lots of energy,” he answered honestly. “Dad always said that you guys were energetic like no tomorrow and wild, also unpredictable, dangerous, and loud, very loud.”
“You expected that!?” she sputtered.
“Did you think I was expecting a mermaid from Little Mermaid, fishtail and all?” he asked her.
“Yes!”
“Nah,” he shrugged.
“You’re an ass,” she informed him.
“I’m aware.”
“Good.”
“Besides, I’m a you know,” he shrugged. “Being unpleasant and assholes in general are required.”
“Oh! The ticket booth! And next time we are dropping your family name to get into the movie.”
“You wanted to be a normal American teen this time instead of being a Princess of you know,” he said.
“I did not want that. You wanted that. Freaking love of invisibility. I swear if you were metas you’d all be like that.”
“Rae cast an invisibility spell once, that was awesome, terrifying and cool.”
“Why!?”
“Oh, the demons were hunting her, I was like seven, and it was a giant hide and seek game,” Terry said.
“That’s not normal.”
“You grew up under the sea,” he pointed out.
“You grew up in Gotham.”
“I don’t like you right now,” she decided.
“You adore me, I’m paying for the movie,” he pointed out.
“True,” she decided.
“Awe, you two are an adorable couple!” the ticket attendant said when they stepped up to buy the tickets for S.O.S. “First date?”
“We’re not a couple,” Terry stated as he paid for the tickets.
“But we are friends!” Mareena declared slinging her arm around his shoulders.
“Barely.”
“You adore me!” she declared.
Terry rolled his eyes as the ticket clerk chuckled but gave them their tickets. “I’ll spring for the snacks, you get the good seats,” he ordered as they had their ticket punched and walked into the crowd.

Request!: Grayson family suffer a semi tragedy: 8 year old Jake Grayson (son of Dick and Kori, little brother of Mar'i) breaks his ankle during a championship basketball game he was in for his school team. Semi-Angst from Jake and/or his parents and fluff from the family all gathered at the hospital?
Ouch! But, on ittt. Family angst-fluff. It’s on it’s way.
Ankle
Pain radiated up his leg, the throbbing in his ankle getting worse as the minutes ticked by. Jake gritted his teeth as the doctor handled it; gentle as he was, it still hurt like crazy.
He was trying to be brave. He’d only cried once through the whole ordeal of breaking his ankle. His mother and father had shot over to his side the second he’d hit the floor of the gymnasium at school.
Jake was young but he had the mind of his father and concern consumed him immediately after he felt the snap of his bone. The boy closed his eyes and exhaled as his mind kept going back to the exact moment.
The shock and sudden agony was overwhelming. It was excruciating and it was clear something was fractured. He wasn’t able to put any weight on his foot. One moment, he’d been standing, arms outstretched for the ball, his eyes on the scoreboard and after a brief impact with another student, his face had smacked against the glossy wood flooring and his leg was drawn up, trying to protect his wounded area.
“Jake…” The doctor began, his tone soft but underlying with bad news,
The dark haired boy looked up with a squeeze of his hand from his mother.
“Yes?” Jake replied,
The blonde medic gave the 8 year old a sympathetic look, “Your ankle has two fractures in two of the three bones that ya have there.”
“Fractures?” Jake asked, his eyes wild,
Kory touched his hair and dragged her fingers through the mess of it, soothing him. Jake’s heart was racing, despite the small comfort from his mom, he knew there was only worse news to come.
“Mhm. And, it’s not in the best shape. It’s gotten a little bent up.”
“So… what will that mean?” His father voiced one of the many questions in his head. He looked up to watch as Dick crossed his arms over his chest; his tone was authoritative but curious.
The doctor sighed and lifted the clipboard with the youngest Grayson’s details scribbled on it, “It means… we’ll have to physically move the foot back into place…”
Jake whimpered and turned into his mother, “Mama…”
“Shh, my little one… it shall be okay… the doctor knows what he is doing…” She whispered, kissing his hair.
His big sister’s worried eyes swept from Jake back to the doctor, “Mr Doctor… is Jakey gonna be able to walk and stuff?”
Dick gently pulled Mar’i against his side, “Mar’i-”
Smiling, the doctor nodded, his eyes warm, “Of course he will. But, we need to get it fixed so he can start healing.”
“Please, what will happen after you move it back into place?” Kory asked, her voice gentle,
“After, we’ll take him into theater and insert a couple metal rods to keep the ankle aligned as he heals. It will ensure the bones don’t fuse incorrectly or at an angle that will cause more issues.”
Jake had tears in his eyes as he clutched onto his mother, “Mama, I don’t wanna… it hurts…” He croaked,
Kory frowned sadly and looked up at Dick who sighed and walked over to the doctor,
“If that’s what needs to be done… then we’ll do it. But, d’you mind if we talk to Jake first? Explain to him?”
“Of course. It will be a while before we can start; we need the anesthetic to take effect before we start trying to move anything. We want to minimize Jake’s pain as much as we can.”
Dick smiled and nodded, “Thank you.”
With that, the doctor slipped out of the bay, pulling the curtain back across to give the family some privacy.
Slowly, he turned back to lock eyes with his wife who was still trying to soothe their little boy. He hiccuped and pulled back, those tears finally spilling.
Dick was sat by his feet in an instant, a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
“Hey, kiddo… shh… it’s alright.” Dick murmured,
Jake shook his head and rubbed his eyes, “I-It’s gonna hurt, dad! I-I’m scared…”
“Jakey, it’ll be over before you know it.”
He sucked in a breath and looked at his father with watery eyes, “Can aunty Raven not just heal it for me?”
Dick shared a glance with Kory, “Not this time, bud… you got at school and Raven’s healing is a secret, remember? People would get suspicious if you healed that fast…”
Jake’s lip trembled but Kory kissed his cheek,
“We can visit aunty Raven and uncle Gar tonight and she can make it feel a bit better, okay?”
He sniffled, “I… I’m so stupid.”
Kory and Dick blinked in surprise and Mar’i tilted her head at her little brother,
“Of course you are not stupid, Jake. Anyone could have-“
“No they couldn’t! I’m your son… you and dad… you’re both so strong all the time and you wouldn’t have let this thing happen if it were you.”
Dick’s brows furrowed and gave his shoulder a squeeze, “Jake… me and mom have had plenty of breaks and scrapes… we usually just hide it from you both.”
“Dad!” Mar’i exclaimed, scandalized,
“If we mention when we get hurt, you guys will worry.”
“We do not wish to worry either of you when we are injured.” Kory mentioned,
Jake sniffled, “Really? You guys… get hurt sometimes?”
Dick laughed, “Of course we do, champ. No one’s invincible and you especially shouldn’t beat yourself up over this. You were playing a sport; that’s a completely normal way of getting hurt.”
Jake pouted and cast his eyes down, “I messed up. It was the championship basketball game… and I-I…”
Kory touched his chin and angled his face up towards hers, “There will be other games, Jake. You are always going to be more important than winning some sport at school.”
He nodded, “Thanks mama…” Jake sighed, “I guess. I just wish… I was brave like you guys.”
Dick’s eyes widened, “You? Not brave? Are you crazy!?” He paused, “I would have been bawling my eyes out like a baby if I broke my ankle! You, on the other hand, are a trooper!”
Jake quirked a smile, “Really? You would’ve cried?”
Kory nods, “Mhm, would have been calling out for me to come and rescue him.”
Mar’i and Jake started giggling and Dick flashed his wife a smirk, “That’s usually how it goes with us, doesn’t it, honey?”
His Princess grinned whilst their children were in hysterics over that image.
Dick took a breath and caught Jake’s eye, “You can do this, Jake. I know you can.”
“I hope so.”
“Besides, thanks to your mother, your bones heal quicker than a full human’s anyway.” Dick commented,
“That’s true.” Jake laughed, calming down a little bit from the comfort of his family.
“And Jake, just think… you’ll get a cast that we can all sign!” Mar’i boasted, looking excited.
Jake grinned at her, “Oh yeah! Lian had one a few years ago! Do you think I get to choose my colour? I want green!”
Kory rolled her eyes and smiled at her children, “I am sure they will give you green.”
He looked back at her, “Then it’ll match my eyes, mama!”
“That is true, it will.” She replied, kissing his forehead,
“I get to sign it first!” Mar’i yelled,
“Aw what? No fair! Dad gets to. House rules.” Dick retorted, pulling a jokey face,
“No dad! I called it first!” Mar’i argued, her hands on her hips.
“Whoever gets to Jake first after he has the cast puts on wins.”
He held out her hand to shake. Mar’i took it and grinned, “You’re on, papa.”
Kory narrowed her eyes playfully at her husband’s competitive nature. She assumed he’d simmer with their children but it just made him even worse.
Just then, the doctor crept back in, “Sorry to interrupt but… we need to start.”
Jakes chuckles quietened down and he gulped but was encouraged by his mother’s soothing hands on his arm.
“Ready, Jake?” The doctor queried,
The young boy glanced at his father who nodded confidently and sent a wink in his direction. Jake took a deep breath and looked back at the man,
“You bet I am.”

RobStar Week 2019: Children
To my pen pals including but never limited to @lightdusk96 @mothnem @tarisilmarwen @fireflyxrebel @wisegirlandseaweedbrainforever @nightglider124 @shishidoryofan @bluerene and others, Here’s a little something I write down they just come to my head. :-)
At this rate, The wind and blistering amount of snow hitting little Jake’s face might as well been included in the brochures for this vacation spot. Not it wasn’t that he minded such weather, in fact Jake rather liked it for what it was, just next the pamphlets his mom could’ve at least gotten the fact this one mountain top was a bit much more truthful in advertising. All weather stuff aside though, Jake just couldn’t help but take in the simple fact they were in Alps for the week and it was nothing short of awesome.
As of right now, the Graysons embark on a good old fashioned hiking trip across the Italian side of Mount Bianco (AKA Mount Blanc) and all Jake can focus on was the massive and breathtaking view of Italy this one peak had from his one spot. From the rolling green landscape of the Veny valley right down below, the roaring yet peacefully flowing rivers of the Po river and other amazing features his family can just simply fly over with the grace of birds. Well, almost of all them except for ironically the Flying Grayson himself.
“Hey Jake!” speaking of whom as he heard the call of his father from just a few feet as he was approaching Jake.
“Yeah Dad?” the 10 year old asked cheerfully as he took his eyes of the distant view to his father.
“It’s sure a pretty view huh?” Dick asked as finally was able to catch up with his son, having the two of them stand side by side overlooking the mountain view.
“Uh huh, sure is.” Jake answered as he once more turn his gaze to that view before asking, “Hey Dad, did you and Mom go mountain climbing and gotta good view like this before?”
Dick scratched his chin in wondering before answering, “Actually, not really Little Man. I mean, your Mom and I did fly over with her the city, her home planet or even in space during our honeymoon but not really climbing up a mountain. Maybe it was just that we flew even higher up than that.”
Jake lightly chuckled at the last part “Well, I guess that’s true.”
A briefest of silence followed as the two stared into the distance before Jake asked again.
“Did ya wish you can fly like Mama and Big Sis?”
“Hmmmmm.........Well, every now and then if I’m honest. But then I keep thinking back to when I was with my mom and dad or even with your Grandpa Bruce, I technically did fly.”
Jake laughed a little, “Yeah but with ropes Dad.”
Dick chuckled at that remark, “Yeah, just simply wasn’t born as lucky as your sister and you mom. But it’s okay, they can help fly by carrying me around anyways...just don’t tell THAT to your mom ok?”
Jake nodded happily as he knows not to embarrass dad whenever he can. “Will not tell.” He chirped.
Dick merely responded to that with a his free hand ruffling his son’s hair, much to his son’s liking.
“I believe the two of you have won in reaching this point on the mountain yes?” a sweet voice asked seemingly of nowhere before father and son looked up to see both Kori and Mar’i floating over them happily.
“Yeah Jakey, you could’ve flown up here too” 12 year old Mar’i pipped up as she descended next to her baby brother.
Jake rubbed the back of head sheepishly, “Well, didn’t wanna make it unfair for Dad, Big Sis”
Both Mar’i and Kori giggled at that answer. “Yes Jacob, I do believe your father does have a rather specific need for fairness in competitions. No matter whom he faces against”
Dick lightly smirked, “You know me alright Chakano” he said right before locking lips with his beloved, much to both Jake and Mar’i being forced to watch.
“EW. Guys not here” yelped Jake he and his sister tried covering each other’s eyes from the sight.
As the two Titans parted lips but still look at each passionately in the eyes, Kori giggled lightly, “Well, Richard, I do believe our children have said our limits for the kissing yes?”
Dick just as well lightly laughed back before whispering in Kori’s ear, “We’ll save it for the Cabin room Ok?”
“I do believe the phrase is: Sounds good to me” Star happily whispered back, before the two step up to their children and all four take a careful seat on the mountain ground to the majestic view the mountain provided.
They didn’t need to bring any cameras for this occasion, since memories like this have a tendency to stay in one’s mind forever as if the memory was a camera itself.

RobStar Week 2019: Wayne Manor
Dedicated to my fellow RobStar fans in this website. Here’s a short piece of fluff that might not be much but it’s the best I can do for this first day of RobStar Week 2019
Shout out to the following: @lightdusk96 @wisegirlandseaweedbrainforever @tarisilmarwen @nightglider124 @fireflyxrebel @shishidoryofan @bluerene
So without further ado....
The crisp cool nighttime air complements the ever bright full moon so clearly shining brightly in the sky. The Tamaranean looks out the lunar with an ever present sense of wonder and fascination that she always keeps within no matter how many years since first landing on this blue beautiful planet she can now call her home. Speaking of home though, the rooftop of this Wayne Manor with one of its convenient wooden benches she finds herself sitting on offers her not just a clear look into the shining moon above her but a so a remarkable view of the infamous Gotham her longtime friend Richard so eloquently told her about in their many periods of downtime back at Titans Tower, especially after their ‘confession’ to each other at Tokyo. The bright lights and bustling sounds of music ventures and orchestra halls all happening at once come pouring out of a city skyline drenched in neo-Gothic, almost Dark deco style infrastructure, all of it reaching the eyes and ears, further bringing that sense of wonder into full force. If only she allows herself to simply fly over into downtown Gotham just to simply feel all the potential glimmer and joy that can be felt courtesy of the general mood of the city.
Of course, first of all just simply taking off from the Manor one a flight over to the downtown skyline without letting her beloved or the other persons at this Manor would be must inappropriate. Secondly and perhaps most tragically, Gotham’s reputation comes not necessarily for the excitement and wonder it brings but rather it’s almost downright cynical levels of unprecedented crime and mayhem, evidenced with the majority of the super criminals looked away in the terrifying Arkham Asylum consistently finding a means to conduct diabolical schmes of all sorts that put the dark deco city into pure chaos and grief. So in short, just flying over to downtown might not be the safest or most courteous thing to try no matter how much Starfire wished to. Thankfully, her nightly visit and looking over to the downtown skyline won’t be alone.
“Hey Kori”
The all too familiar voice quickly snaps the Tamaranean out of her stare into the city skyline in the distance and now towards the voice's owner.
“I assume our children are now safely asleep yes?”
Dick lightly chuckled, “Well after about 35 minutes of Mar’i practically flying like a butterfly across the Manor ceilings and Damian reading Jake his bedtime story, I frankly thought we’ll be the one’s tired out first.”
Star couldn’t help but chuckle with that remark.
“Still, with Pennyworth and Damian here, I do say that task becomes much simpler to achieve in comparison of doing such by ourselves at the Buldhaven apartment”
Dick sheepishly rubbed the back of his head, “I guess so”
Dick settles next to his beloved wife on that same bench. Now the both of them take a look into he distant downtown Gotham skyline, noticing always the distant lighting and sounds of ambiance the dark deco city shines in spite of whatever may happen at any given second. Still at least Dick’s eyes, there’s only thing truly missing to complete the ambiance Gotham shines. Kori states it almost exactly when she breaks the silence, saying,
“The Batman usually answers the call of a signal light, yes?”
“Hm? Oh yeah, he does”
“I must ask: has such a light been a common sight since at the beginning of his ventures?”
Dick laid back a bit on his side of the bench, “Well, mostly likely after Commissioner Gordon and the GCPD knew they can truly trust him”
“What do you believe convinced this Department of Police to trust him as such?”
Dick simply shrugs, “You know, I think it would’ve been the first time he caught maybe Scarecrow....Joker...Penguin...otherwise, I can’t really figure out exactly when.”
Kori raises her eyebrow slightly, “Do you believe the light becomes established once you join the Batman as his partner?”
Dick ponders that for a bit; yeah, from what he can tell the Bat-signal only really came up when he was first starting out as Robin, by then Batman had been around for a good three years and only then did the big criminal names like Joker and Scarecrow come out at that particular time. It’s almost as if the old “Gangster days” of Batman started fading away once Joker got some company around the same he came in. It’s something he’ll probably asking Bruce if they have enough free time on them.
Speaking of free time, “You know Kori, the skyline surely looks pretty don’t it?”
Kori nods, “Oh yes, It very much does.”
A very brief silence passes before Kori asks, “Richard?”
“What is it?” Dick asks softly to her.
“Shall we visit the downtown of Gotham, not as our ‘selves’ but perhaps as...ourselves?”
Dick takes a brief half-minute to think. On the hand, they can visit in the daylight when crime is at the mimimal chance, the kids will like it for sure, they can even take Tim, Dami and even Babs and Steph if they aren’t too busy. Still, imagine how the Gotham Gazette and their other gossip magazines will swarm, looking for even the tiniest of slips from either of them to bring out a scadal so unwarranted, Bruce’ll probably need to pay them to zip it from saying anything. Definetly not pleasant.
But hey this was Starfire asking...so,
“OK. It’s a date tomorrow then.”
Kori didn’t even need words to express her thankfulness. Just a quick on the cheek was more than enough. A quick kiss back on her own cheek was she gets in return.

Robstar Day 3: Lost
Alright, this isn’t as fluffy as I would have liked it to be, but it was still enjoyable to write! Plus I believe I needed a bit of a happier oneshot after yesterday. Enjoy!
_____________________________________________________
It’ll be fun, she said.
The things Dick Grayson did for his alien wife. Of course, he was all for the idea of going to Disneyland for a family vacation, but Kory neglected taking a plane and opted for driving the entire way.
“But that’ll take forever!” He protested when she proposed the idea.
“Nonsense.” Kory said, packing their clothes into a large suitcase. “Garfield said this “family road trip” is a most delightful experience.”
“I really don’t think we should be using Garfield as reliable source material.”
“Oh, come on.” she bantered. “It could help us create memories with the children.”
“Kory, we’ve never been a road trip this long. Trust me, we’ll kill each other before we even get there.”
But her heart was set on it, always the one for “new experiences” as she called it. And after all her constant pleads and head-reeling kisses, he finally agreed to it.
And now they were driving along I-50, somewhere in Arizona. The heat sweltered through the open windows, making Dick sleepy and very uncomfortable.
“Daddy, I’m bored.” Mar’i complained from the back seat.
“I know, Starshine.” He called back. “We’ll be at the hotel in just a few hours.”
She slunk back into her seat, playing with her dolls without much enthusiasm. Jake slept soundlessly beside her.
“I believe we will be turning right soon.” Kory mused, searching the giant road map she had bought at the last gas station.
“No, we stay on this road until we hit the border of California. Dick countered. “Why did you even buy a map? We just follow the signs until we get there.”
His question went unanswered and Kory creased her brow. “Are you sure? The map says we take this exit in a mile.”
“Yes Kory, I’m sure. We don’t need a map.”
“Daddy, are we there yet?” Mar’i called out, now trying to wake her sleeping brother.
“No Mar’i, not yet. And leave your brother alone.”
The AC was blasting on high, but the car still felt like the inside of a volcano. Mar’i had stolen his phone a while ago and was now listening to the only downloaded episode of her favorite cartoon for the tenth time. They had been stuck in the car for two days straight, and Dick felt his nerves itching with irritation. How much longer?
“Richard, I really do think we should turn—”
“You want me to go right? Fine, we’ll go right!”
He swerved across three lanes of traffic and exited off the freeway, speeding into some forsaken town of tumbleweeds.
“Not that one!” Kory scolded. “You turned much too early!”
“Well maybe if you just let the driver drive—”
“Daddy, are we there yet?
“No, Mar’i.”
“We have to get back onto the highway.” Kory said frantically.
“That’s what I’m trying to do!” Dick exclaimed, not particularly focused on the turns he was making.
“Perhaps I should drive.”
“No.”
“We are clearly not going the right direction!”
“Yes we—Mar’i, if you ask me that question more time, you’re riding on the roof until we get there!”
Dick’s attention was now far from where he was going, and after half an hour the family finally stopped arguing long enough to notice that they were well beyond the highway. They were driving along some lonely country road, miles upon miles of nothing stretched out on either side.
“Uh, where are we?” Dick mused, trying to retrace all the turns he had made in his mind.
“I shall check the map.” She decided, but Dick snatched it away from her.
“Are you kidding? That’s what got us into this mess in the first place!”
She crossed her arms in annoyance. “Then perhaps we stop and ask for directions.”
“From who?” He demanded. “Oh wait, I think I see a giant station of nothing ahead.”
Kory scowled. “Then let us at least stop for a moment. I need to feed Jake.” She motioned to their son, who was now screaming in the backseat.
“Fine.”
They stopped along the edge of the road. Mar’i jumped out of the car straightaway and hovered slightly over the rows of cacti, laughing gleefully as she tried to chase the tiny wrens. Dick sighed and leaned against the outside of the car. He looked over the horizon, the sunlight fading fast into twilight.
He had absolutely no idea where they were.
Fantastic.
A little while later Kory came up next to him with a sleeping Jake in her arms. She leaned against the car as well and rested her head against his shoulder.
“We are lost, yes?” she asked with a small smirk.
Dick let out faint smile. “Completely.”
Kory shifted Jake onto her hip. “Is our GPS working?”
“Not without a signal.”
“What about your phone?”
“Mar’i drained it watching her show.”
Kory giggled softly, surprising Dick.
"What's so funny?"
"All of this.” She replied. “It recalls memories of when we were stranded on that awful planet, trying to find our friends.”
“You mean when you completely ignored me because I said you weren’t my girlfriend? And my only response was ‘I like the way you shoot starbolts?’”
She laughed. “Yes, I suppose I was a little displeased with you then.”
“Look, Star.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “I’m sorry I snapped at you back on the road. I was just frustrated, I guess. I didn’t mean to take it out on you.”
She smiled and kissed him on the cheek. “You were tired, Richard, as are we all. I think it best to stop and rest for the night.”
“What, here?”
“Yes! We have sleeping bags and a small tent in the trunk in case of emergencies.”
“We do?”
“Of course.” She replied, holding his gaze. “You taught me to always be prepared.”
She placed Jake in her husband’s arms. “You can set up here. I shall fly over to see where the main road is so we can start again tomorrow morning.”
The fire they lit was reduced to only smoldering embers by the time Mar’i finally got into her sleeping bag. After five rounds of tag and hide and seek, she quickly fell asleep and snored softly besides her father.
“Poor thing, she’s exhausted.” Dick stated, stroking her hair.
“Yes, but rather content.” Kory bundled Jake up with all the blankets they had so he wouldn’t get cold. “I must say, I did not expect a camping trip on our journey.”
Dick laughed and allowed her slip under the blankets next to him, her warmth radiating against the cold.
“You know, this whole thing kind of reminds me of my days in the circus.”
“It does?” Kory propped herself up on her elbow to face him. “How so?”
“Oh you know, we used to drive for days when we traveled from city to city. My parents would argue too, and my Dad used to make me pay a nickel every time I asked where we were. I got so bored that I think I actually did ride on top of the roof once. But you know, looking back on it now, those really were good memories.”
Kory smiled, resting her head on his chest like a pillow. “And now we can make new ones. Lost in the middle of nowhere.”
Dick kissed the top of her head and pulled her closer. “We all know that I would be completely lost without you.” Kory hummed in response, both drifting off to sleep.
“But seriously, next time can we just take a plane?”

The Kids Are Alright
(Hello, everyone! It’s my birthday today, so I made this little thing here to celebrate! This is a tribute to all my friends, especially my writing buddies Ava @fireflyxrebel and @nightglider124 ! Credit goes to @loubuggins for letting me use her lovely BBRae kid OC’s Mark and Maria Logan!)
The Kids Are Alright
«How longer until we get there, Dick?»
Richard Grayson glanced at his beloved wife, as his attention was on the veichle ahead of them. «Not too long, I think. I remember Bruce said the place is just beyond this clearing.»
Kory only hummed in response before looking back to see the kids. Jake was sleeping peacefully, his short black hair messy and unkempt, while Mar’i was bouncing with excitement, her long dark hair fluttering up and down as she did. She always had an urge to explore and see new places, so this idea of going to this new summer resort for a few days was right up her alley.
Kory couldn’t help but smile, her daughter’s happiness being irresistably infectious. It was going to be a very fun couple of days.
It wasn’t even a few moments before her train of thought was halted by the car slowing down to a halt.
«Woah… I think this is it.»
Dick’s exclamation was one that Kory soon shared as soon as she laid eyes on the place. It was a beautiful cabin made entirely out of wood, with a painstakingly-crafted stone pathway that lead to a small beach, a seemingly uncountable variety of flowers growing on both sides of said path, big windows and lanters completing the a look that was luxirous, yet simple.
Kory gave her gobsmacked husband a knowing look. «We get this beautiful home AND a beach?! I believe you said you wanted something small…»
He smirked at her teasing comment. «Well, OK, not TOO small…»
Kory just shook her head at that. «The house, I get. But a beach?»
Dick’s smirk grew into a full out grin, wrapping a strand of Kory’s firery red hair around his finger. «You mean you don’t want to see me in nothing but a swimsuit?»
Kory’s round cheeks had a soft shade of pink in them as soon as he finished that sentence. «While you make a good point, I don’t think we should talk like that in front of the kids…»
«Right, sorry. I’ll just go and get our things.»
Kory turned to their daughter as Dick got out of the car and started unloading the trunk. «So, what do you think, Starshine?»
Mar’i smile was so bright that it lit the entire interior of the car. «It’s soooo pretty! I LOVE IT!»
Her outburst of excitement woke up Jake, who after shaking off some sleep-induced sluggishness, took one look at their home and stared at it with an open mouth.
«Wooooooow… it’s biiiiig!»
Kory giggled at his blunt, yet apt description as she got out of her seat and out of the car, her children following her. The kids got their backpacks while Mommy and Daddy got the heavy suitcases. Mommy carried the bulk of them for the obvious reason that she was stronger than Daddy.
As they unloaded the trunk, the green Smart that followed behind them stopped a short distance away from them. The Logan family emerged from the car in very good spirits, despite the long trip. Raven showed a rare smile as she held the hand of her son Mark in her own and Garfield was laughing alongside his daughter Maria as they raced each other to the house in front of them. As for their luggage, Raven just levitated it to the cabin. It was times like this that she honestly considered her powers an actual blessing.
Raven turned to Richard as he carried two suitcases down the stone pathway. «Just a small resort, eh?»
«Ah, it’s eight of us, we’ll need the space. Especially with our kids having superpowers and all.»
Raven simply hummed in response as she guided Mark towards the cabin, Kory floating beside her carrying several big suitcases. And her two children, who were letting out excited squeals over how fun of a ride their mommy can be.
The unpacking did not take very long, thanks to the fact that most of the residents had superpowers that made it much easier. As soon as the adults were finished, Maria took the liberty of asking what the rest of the kids behind her were thinking.
«Mommy, can we go out and play now?»
Raven gently stroked her green hair, a warm smile on her face. «Go ahead, sweetie. But be careful and be back by lunchtime, okay?»
Maria rapidly nodded her head. «Yes, mommy!»
Mar’i was jumping up and down in joy, as Mark and Jake gave each other a mischievous look. «Alright, play time!»
Jake and Mark took off before Mar’i could even finish her sentence. «LAST ONE THERE IS A ROTTEN EGG!»
The girls were shocked in place for a brief moment before giving chase. «Hey, good boys are supposed to let ladies go first!»
Mark had this to say as he looked back at the girls running behind them. «You’re not a lady, you’re just a sister!»
Gar laughed at their antics as was lounging on the sofa after he set up his and Rae’s room, very satisfied with how the place looked. «It’s a real nice place you got here, Dick. It reminds me of a place I know of, but that’s inside a forest by a lake, not near a beach.»
Dick riased an eyebrow from his seat on the other side of the sofa, his lovely wife snuggling against his shoulder. «Really? It sounds like a pretty cool place. Maybe we should should go there next time we take a few days off with the kids.»
«It’d be cool with me! I know the kids would love it!»
Kory raised her haed slightly at this. «Speaking of the kids, how are the twins fairing, Gar? How are they handling their powers so far?»
Gar shifted his lounging position to and upright one. «Well, Maria is handling hers pretty well. She’s already got a good handle on teleporting and can move some small things with her telekinesis. Mark’s getting the hand of it too, although it can get pretty hard sometimes. So far he’s displayed animal senses and empathy, and these can be very difficult to tone down. Said that his head hurt from feeling to many conflicting emotions all at once at schools, while his animals senses can make it hard to sleep. But that was just at first. He’s been seeing both of us and he’s learned to surpress them to the point where it’s not nearly as much of an issue anymore. It’s worth noting that he adapted to his empathy extremely quickly, even Rae was impressed by how swiftly he controlled it. In fact, these helped him make fast bonds with pets and other animals around him.» Gar’s eyes lit up in happiness as he remembered the Mark’s look of pure wonder on his cute little face when he made his first animal friend, a tiger in a zoo that they visited 2 years ago.
Kory let out a huge smile of admiration for how well Gar had conducted himself. «It all sounds glorious, Gar! I am very happy for you and your family! I always knew you would make a wonderful father!»
Gar couldn’t help but puff his chest out in pride at this. Despite his caring for the kids being entirely out of love for them, it did feel nice to be appreciated.
«Thanks, Kory. So, how about Mar’i and Jake? They doing well, or is Dick being a Dick again?»
Dick rolled his eyes out at this. «Wow, that was almost an hour without a joke about my name! I’m impressed!»
Gar’s signature toothy grin was very quickly formed around his face. «Well,I would make more, but I don’t have much time for dicking around these days, y’know?»
Dick couldn’t hold his chuckle in time. «Mar’i and Jake are doing fine. Mar’i has got a pretty comfortable hold on her powers, while Jake is getting there steadily. He can’t fly like his sister, but he does have super-strength and starbolts, which he used to launch a bully on the other side of an alley 3 months ago. He didn’t get hurt, thankfully. Mar’i has been really helpful to him as he adjusted to his powers. They’re a pretty tight-knit duo.»
Raven came out from the kitchen, with a tray of teacups and a teapot that softly let out steam.«A new Dynamic Duo, eh? Sounds good.»
As the four adults drank from their cups, they couldn’t but think just how far they’ve come in their lives, to the point where they’ve become capable parents when it felt like it was just yesterday that they were teenagers barely able to handle their own well-beings, much less their own. That feeling of accomplishmenmt and pride combined with the warm tea trickling down their stomachs felt them with a feeling of warmth that could be sensed throughout the entire room as their children played outside in the sand, shouting at each other over not being able to use their powers for hide and seek.
