My first fanfic! I wanted to start out with a fluffy (and maybe a little crack-y?) oneshot featuring the lu boys. Link to the AO3 coming once my account gets approved later this week!
✨Magical Placeholder for Title Until I Figure It Out✨
Warriors stared down the strategy map, rubbing the pebble that represented him between his fingers. He’d battled unlikely odds before, but this was a whole new level of hopeless.
He had to try. For the sake of his brothers, he had to try.
“Captain?” Sky asked, fiddling with his sailcloth. “Are you sure we shouldn’t get the old man?”
“He’s compromised. Always has been for missions like this, he’s just better at hiding it now. We’re certain Hyrule can’t swim?”
“He shrieked when Wild went waist deep into the lake a few months ago,” Four said from Warriors’s other side. “I don’t think anyone in Hyrule’s world knows how to swim.”
That complicated things. Hyrule would be one of the most resistant to their plan, and they couldn’t just throw him in. Warriors considered using Legend to coax Hyrule into the water, but the veteran seemed to have a thing against water. Probably another secret. Legend seemed to have a lot of those.
Warriors rubbed between his brows. He sighed and looked up at the pine trees surrounding their campsite. He’d convinced everyone except Sky and Four—the only Heroes who would accept his desperate plan—to forage or collect firewood elsewhere. That had been an hour ago. They were out of time for finding other solutions.
“All right,” he said. “We’ll have to keep Hyrule in the shallows, then. Four?”
Four grinned, teeth glinting in the sunlight.
“Way ahead of you, Captain.”
Warriors nodded and turned to Sky. The Chosen Hero had already grabbed his gust bellows and gave him a grim nod.
“Good,” Warriors said. “There’s just one other part of our problem to solve.”
He placed his own pebble next to the river on the map and picked up the miniature wolf Sky had carved the other day.
“Not it,” Four and Sky said at the same time.
“I didn’t even—” Warriors turned from the map. Both his brothers had their fingers on their noses. The captain huffed.
“Fine. I’ll wrestle the wolf. But you both are on laundry duty for this.”
“Small price to pay,” Four said.
“Yeah, I like my fingers right where they are.” Sky drummed his digits on the bellows with an apologetic smile. Warriors shook his head.
“Just get into position. Remember, quick and precise. We can’t afford mistakes.”
Four nodded. Coming from anyone else, Sky’s salute would have been sarcastic, but Warriors knew his fellow knight meant it. They both left, and the operation was on. Warriors took a deep breath, rolled up the map, and got his supplies from his pack.
He crept to the stream near their campsite, past the spot where Four had laid out everyone’s armor under the guise of repairing it later tonight. Good. Nothing would rust this way.
He crouched behind a bush near the shore and laid out his supplies. Three brushes for different hair textures, a pile of rags, a larger pile of fluffy towels, and the largest bottle of soap he’d ever seen. They hadn’t stayed in his world long enough to drag everyone to a bathhouse last week, but at least he’d had time to stock up. He lined up a smaller bottle of conditioner next to the brushes. Far as he knew, he’d be the only one interested in it.
A shout echoed across the forest. Phase One had begun.
Warriors grabbed the soap and squeezed a thick thread into the almost-still water. He wished he had one of Wild’s Korok leaves to stir, but a large stick he found near shore would have to do. He frothed the soap until a thick layer of foam sat on the water. Good thing Sky had offered to build a dam downstream so the soap wouldn’t wash away.
The lavender and eucalyptus soap floated into Warriors’s nose, making him relax. Another shout—no, that was a howl—jerked him into action. Four’s part of the plan must have worked. How the smithy knew what would provoke Twilight into transforming, Warriors had no idea. He didn’t want to know. Plausible deniability in case Twilight got mad. Warriors shuddered and returned to the bush.
Another howl. Footsteps racing.
Closer.
Closer.
Wheezing, Sky tore into the clearing. He spotted Warriors, nodded, and lined up with his back to a tree. Sky pointed his gust bellows at the water. No one approaching the stream would see him.
“Cheatin’ bilge rat!” Wind sprinted into the clearing after Sky, Legend and Hyrule just behind. “You’re shark bai—”
Sky turned on his gust bellows.
Wind screeched and flailed headfirst into the stream. Hyrule tumbled after him. Legend figured out what was going on and activated his pegasus boots, running against the gust. Sky’s bellows blew stronger. Legend lost his footing and splashed into the stream.
Warriors covered his mouth to hold back a snicker.
Three heads popped up from the water. Hyrule looked panicked. Legend looked torn between holding up Hyrule and dragging Sky in with them. Wind looked murderous.
The sailor lunged up to grab Sky’s ankle, but Sky gusted until Wind fell back into the stream.
“You yellow-bellied, lily-livered, octo-brained seagull splat!” Wind yelled, but Warriors could hear him covering up a laugh.
“I have no idea what any of those words mean,” Sky said with a grin and an extra puff of air in Wind’s face.
Wind sucked in a breath, probably to ‘educate’ Sky. Another howl and a high-pitched, unheroic scream cut him off.
“Sky!”
Four tore into view and tossed Wild’s Sheikah Slate to Sky before jumping into the water. Wild burst from the bushes and dove after Four with a splash. Wolfie raced after them, skidding to a stop before the shore. He took a step back and looked around.
Come on, Twilight. Just a little closer.
Four burst above the surface, only for Wild to tackle him deeper into the stream. Warriors had only seen that look on Wild’s face once—right before disintegrating the iron knuckle that had downed Twilight.
Maybe Warriors had miscalculated his plan.
“Wild! Wild, stop—” Four spluttered, treading water while stopping Wild from dragging him to the bottom. “The Slate’s fine. Sky has it, look.”
Sky flinched as Wild turned his glare onto him, but the Chosen Hero waved the Sheikah Slate to prove Four’s point. Grumbling, Wild swam back to the edge and made grabby hands for his prized item.
“Give it.”
Sky held the Slate out of reach, putting it at the base of a tree.
“You can have it back after your bath. The Captain can’t stand our smell anymore.”
Caught in the moment, Warriors stood up from his hiding place to argue how that wasn’t what he’d said—he’d thought it, but hadn’t said it—before realizing he’d blown his cover. Warriors caught Wolfie’s eye. Wolfie bolted.
“Oh, no you don’t!” Warriors lunged for Wolfie and shoved his shapeshifting brother toward the water. Wolfie stumbled, but didn’t fall in.
How was Twilight heavier in this form?
A burst of wind from Sky pounded against Warriors’s back, pushing the wrestling captain and wolf closer to the stream. Wolfie dug in his claws and growled. Warriors pushed against the wretched-smelling mound of dog with all his strength, but Wolfie didn’t budge.
A splash was all the warning he got before five sets of hands shot out of the water, grabbed Wolfie, and pulled him in. Warriors sailed through the air and hit the stream, water and bubbles shooting up his nose. He broke the surface, coughing and spluttering. Eucalyptus burnedthrough his sinuses.
When he could finally see and breathe again, he cackled at the sight in front of him.
Wolfie squirmed as Wild and Legend kept him from swimming to shore. A cloud of mud surrounded the rest of the Heroes, mostly coming from the wolf. Wind scrubbed soap into the fur. Four rubbed Wolfie’s paws, freeing wads of muck jammed between the pads. Hyrule clung to Wolfie’s back and made bubble hats for the wolf.
Warriors had never seen the mighty beast so undignified.
Wolfie whimpered. A chime sounded and black flecks started to swarm around him.
“Oh, no you don’t.” Legend bopped Wolfie on the nose. The black flecks disappeared, and Wolfie growled. Hyrule added a pompom to Wolfie’s bubble hat. “Your smell’s going to attract monsters if you don’t clean up this version of yourself. Honestly, your fur crackles.”
“And it reduces the risk of us getting sick,” Warriors said as he waded toward the group. He shot a dirty look at Sky, dry and giggling on the shore. “Which is the real reason I organized this.”
“Did you have to throw us in?” Wild asked.
Warriors shrugged and rubbed soap into Wild’s hair. If his brothers were going to focus solely on scrubbing Twilight, Warriors could make sure everyone else got clean, too. Wild melted under the touch and almost lost hold of Wolfie.
“We needed to do laundry, too. This hits two ChuChus with one arrow. Besides, would you have taken a bath if I’d asked nicely?”
Wild shook his head, but caught sight of something on shore and grinned. Warriors followed his gaze and felt his eyes grow wide.
Time loomed behind Sky, who hadn’t noticed him yet. Sky squeaked as Time picked him up and hurled him at the other Heroes. All eight of them plunged under, legs, arms, and one tail tangling together. They finally surfaced, Hyrule still using Wolfie as a raft. Everyone piled on Sky to make sure he got as drenched as the rest of them.
“Stop,” Sky said between giggling and failing to push them away. “That—that tickles!”
Which was the worst thing to tell a group of Links, Warriors thought. Chaos and mayhem were vital parts of the Hero’s Spirit. Even Warriors splashed suds on Sky after that comment. After all, Sky had a great laugh.
A shadow blocked out the sun, too sudden and dark to be a cloud. Warriors looked up.
Oh.
Oh, no.
He’d definitely miscalculated.
Time cannonballed straight for them.
Later that night, while they dried off and teased each other over dinner, Warriors admitted he screamed like a little girl. If only because his seven other brothers did the exact same thing.

AAAAAAAH I LOVE YOUR WRITING !!! i saw your requests were open so im wondering if you could do Legend or warriors (whichever you prefer!) with a reader who's extremely afraid of butterflies like they see one and are already halfway across the forest! like immediate sprinting away
AHHH! TY FOR YOUR TIME :D
KAHSKSHSIW THIS IS SO ME. I TOO FREAK OUT WHEN A BUTTERFLY COMES NEAR ME-
ALSO IM SO SORRY THAT I TOOK SO LONG??? IM SO TERRIBLE MY BAD I REALLY APPRECIATE YOU REBLOGGING MY STUFF <3333
Legend:
The crunching of leaves can be heard all around as the mindless chatter among the group can be heard in the room.
The Chain has allowed themselves to rest after Wild introduced them to the Great Deku Tree. Old man nature welcomed the various heroes and their companion to rest. He is slightly found of the young adult who interacts kindly to the children of the forest.
Speaking of the Koroks, they are currently giggling and flying about as they played with [Name]. They seemed to be playing a simpler version of hide-n-seek. The koroks are giggling behind their hands as they tried to quiet their laughter. [Name] pretends for a moment that they are unable to find, and loudly calls for their name.
Watching them for a moment as he smiles in content before focusing his attention on his inventory. [Name]'s laughter is heard and the following giggling and shrieking of the Koroks being found. Quickly rushing away, desperately trying not to be caught do the koroks move. [Name] laughing loudly; not moving from their spot since they found it too amusing.
The Hero moves his attention towards his pouch, making sure that none of his items are misplaced. Knowing that the young koroks are curious and mean no harm, he's content for the time being. Enjoying the moment of being able to relax and not being hunted down by malice blooded monsters.
A loud shriek is heard as Legend's ears twitch at the sound. A sound that came from the person who he thought was safe. He saw them play with the koroks just a second ago. Without hesitation he stands up from his place and moves his body to the sound.
"[Name]!?"
The sight that greets Legend is comical. [Name] pushing themselves against a tree as they stare at the little creature on a koroks hand. it's giggling as it brings it closer them as they let out a small sound of fear. Legend walks over to see what made them scream, and taking a closer look at the creature is a small butterfly.
The butterfly calmly stands on the hand, and gently flaps it's wings in a calm motion. It's antennae would twitch here and there but it wasn't really moving.
This confuses Legend as he gently grabs [Name] and pulls them away from the tree. But they refuse to move from the spot as they make dead eye contact with the butterfly. "Are you alright? Do you want to move from this place?" He asked but [Name] just shook their head and refused to move an inch. Slowly moving his focus back onto the butterfly as he thought he saw movement. The korok inched closer to them which caused the butterfly to twitch and fly forward.
It was like a chain reaction when that happened.
The korok moves, then the butterfly moves forward. Which then causes [Name] to scream once more and quickly back away, but Legend was still holding onto them. It made the both of them fall onto the ground; both keeping an eye onto the butterfly. Legend blinks before shaking his lover, "Did you seriously react that negatively to a tiny fucking butterfly!?!"
"They just as bad as spiders, Legend!" They shouted back at him with a slight voice crack as the butterfly flies away from them. A harsh sigh escapes from his lips. As he rolled his eyes before grabbing them and dragging them away. The little korok giggling in the background/

Warriors:
Warriors looks down at the map that Twilight lent him. It's a miniature copy of the outside of Twilight's castle town; he asked Warriors for a favor and gave him the map to help him. It was to search for a certain bug that has a unique color that should be easy to spot because of it. Wars had no problem with it, so he agreed to go and look for it.
[Name] found out about his little exploration and decided that they wanted to go with him to keep him company. Warriors didn't mind and readily agreed; silently cheering since he wanted a bit of alone time with them.
Both of them rode together with rented horses from castle town as they neared an area on where the bug was supposed to be. Wars looked up from the map when they heard [Name] shuffled from behind; they gently got off and patted their horse to soothe them. They smiled up at him before speaking, "Just wanted to stretch my legs for a bit since I noticed us slowing down."
Wars returned their smile before sliding off himself, "No worries, we're already in the area on where it should be." [Name] nodded before walking around for a bit and resting underneath a tree. Beside the tree is a cliff that has a group of of flowers near the edge.
Warrior's steps forward and begins searching at the tree and the surrounding area. He remembers Twilight saying that this was an easy way to obtain money since the person who collects these bugs offer a huge sum or rupees. That caught his attention, someone who paid a a lot just for some bugs? Count him in.
[Name] joined in because they wanted to spend time with Wars. Plus have an in depth look at Twilight's Hyrule. They remember the land being big and having space as well as beautiful from their screen. And they were right, the graphics on the game didn't do the actual place justice. Just even exploring castle town itself was a shock! The game showed an always moving place, but actually experiencing it was different.
A small sound of jingle can be heard from which caught the attention of the two them. Wars noticing it because it was something that was told to him that he was near the bug, but [Name] slightly tensed up because they finally realized what that noise meant.
Warriors looked up at the cliff, squinting a bit he noticed that faint sparkle of color. It moved in between the flowers that are near the edge before it showed itself fully and slowly flew down gently near them. He perked up and stayed stilled but kept his focus on it; he wasn't going to scare it away and lose rupees.
Meanwhile [Name] eyed the butterfly as it came closer to them. Fuck, they should've told Warriors before hand. With zero hesitation they crawled away from Wars and the butterfly, and with a safe distance away from them did they sprinted away.
Wars to preoccupied on staying still so he wouldn't startle the golden bug. Before quickly snatching it once it was in reach for him. Grinning widely he turned towards [Name] to show them, but didn't see them near the tree.
Spinning around before he caught a glimpse of their [color] tunic a good feet away from him. "Oh wow! Did you catch it? Cool! Don't come near me with it in your hands" They exclaimed as they eyed his hands with slight fear. Wars staring for a moment before it clicked in his head, "Are you afraid of butterfly, [Name]?"
"Pfft- Whaat! No way I'm just- NO WARS STAY AWAY FROM ME"

Day 51: Hateno Elections, and Geoglyphs
As the sun rises over Hateno, I have a look at Bolson's houses on the hill. Medda and his daughter Aster have moved into one of them. I give Medda a mushroom for Cece.
There's a girl called Tamana guarding the gate now - though she seems timid. She gives me an egg, and I give her a mushroom. Is that all the mushrooms now? One left.
Manny doesn't need a mushroom, but I do hand over his frogs. He gives me some rushrooms in return. He hasn't found any of the other ninety frogs he thinks he needs yet, so I don't think he'll be bothering Ivee anytime soon.
An old guy called Tokk is hanging out outside the farm - I must have passed him three or four times and not noticed. I give him a mushroom.
I report back to Cece and Sophie, and we head to the mayoral election.
The debate does not go well - and Sophie's had enough. Good for her!
She calls Cece out in front of everyone - and then Clavia calls Reede out! They agree that Hateno needs both new and old - so they're working together? No election after all.
I meet Cece at the clothing shop - and she gives me that bold hat! I'll… probably wear it…
She plans on stocking clothing from our forebears from now on. It's clothing from my time, 100 years ago. It's strange to remember that I was born before most of these people's grandparents. Just me and Zelda - and Impa, Purah and Robbie, of course.
The first person I run into outside is Seldon - Cece's dad! He compliments my hat.
I also chat to Meeshy. She tells me about that stone statue cave as a location for Misko's clothing, but I've already found that one.
Before I leave, I head up the hill behind my - Zelda's - house. I haul a korok up halfway to meet a friend, then go the rest of the way myself.
There's a Satori blossom tree up here.
I offer the Satori a tomato, and mark the banners. I've already found the closest caves. I'll get to the others someday. Right now, I think I want to head for Tarrey Town. I want to check the town is alright since the Upheaval.
I teleport to the Eldin Tower and intend to glide towards Akkala - but then I see a geoglyph that looks like the Purah Pad, and dive down.
A vision. I see...
Raura takes Zelda to meet Mineru - another Zonai! Mineru seems of a kind with Zelda - knowledgeable, curious. She knows of these secret stones, and what she says supports my theory - Zelda's stone only amplifies her time power, the same power that Sonia's stone amplifies. Almost as if they're the same stone.
But they don't know how Zelda can get back to her time. Back to me. The only way they know is the long way round - immortality, and not even Purah's way. Immortality as a dragon, losing yourself in the process. Zelda, don't. Trust me. Let me find a way to reach you. I remember her resolve at the altar, and beg her to wait for me, knowing that whatever she's decided has already happened.
These visions always leave me at a loss. I have to keep going. I was aiming for Akkala. I spend the rest of the night cutting across country to Foothill Stable.
Everyone here is… in their pants? Bougan tells me it's on Princess Zelda's orders.
"We will only find our future if we chart a new course, leaving the safety of indoor study for exploration in the wild. So, prepare your mind and body, and then explore in underpants."
The first bit sounds like my Zelda, but… is this another trick from the imposter somehow? What would be the point of getting researchers to strip?
I feel like this will make more sense in the light of day. In the meantime, I climb up to the shrine.

Legend of Zelda Theme Park - Lost Woods (UPDATED)
The Lost Woods covers the southeastern corner of the park (corresponding to the Triforce of Courage) and, to suit its role as a vibrant enchanted forest, is the most lushly planted area of the park. Roughly a third of its footprint is devoted to planters filled with live trees, shrubs, and flowers, represented by the stippled shapes on the detailed map below. The artificial structures housing attractions, shops, and eateries are dressed to resemble hollow trees and caves. Most dramatic of all is the Great Deku Tree himself, rising well above the rest of the features in the area. A playful yet mysterious music loop of “forest themes” plays throughout the area.
Attractions
Spirit Train (Forest Station): One of the stations for the Spirit Train (see the Castle Town writeup) can be found here.
Picori Picnic Park: Inspired by The Minish Cap, this is an ideal spot to take a break from all the running around and eat lunch (and let the kids do more running around). A well-shaded area of picnic tables and benches sits alongside an elaborate playground, and everything is in the shape of giant flowers, leaves, mushrooms, and other objects to make you feel as though you’ve shrunk to Minish-size! There are also statues of Minish that guests can pose with for photos, and giant stumps and logs with windows to peer into to watch Minish going about their lives at home.
Koroks in Concert: Inside a huge hollow stump is a tiny theater-in-the-round where dozens of animatronic Koroks put on a musical revue! Some of the tunes in the 15-minute program will be familiar to anyone who has played the right games, but others are unique to this show. Guests are prompted to sing along with the grand finale and in so doing, encourage the Deku sprout in the center to grow!
The Great Deku Tree: He’s not a ride, nor exactly a show, but the guardian spirit of the Lost Woods is an impressive sight all the same. He continually grumbles and sighs and makes different expressions as he watches over the forest, and his spreading crown (the dashed outline shows its rough extent) is made from a system of hollow twigs and retractable artificial leaves in a variety of colors, so that his foliage can shift with the seasons. Moreover, he serves as the entrance to another attraction entirely…
Lost Woods Labyrinth: The largest attraction footprint in the Lost Woods belongs not to a ride, but a walkthrough—a “maze” that you can’t actually get lost in. Entered through the base of the Great Deku Tree’s trunk, the labyrinth winds in a convoluted fashion through a fantastical landscape of forest groves and small caves, with occasional branching paths that encourage repeat visits. The majority of the maze is located inside an enclosed show building, though ample skylights keep the ambient light levels synced with the outdoors for that extra bit of authenticity. The path takes guests through a variety of whimsical, mystical, and eerie forest scenes, from simple wild animals going about their lives to spider webs with scuttling Skulltulas to a Great Fairy Fountain. Some scenes include interactive elements–motion sensors cause Deku Scrubs to pop up and spit water, or a scene of Koroks at play includes a pushbutton that makes more of them descend into view on their little leaf-propellers.
The Grove of the Master Sword: At the exit of the labyrinth, guests have the choice to return to the main area of the Lost Woods…or take a picturesque but unlabeled path that leads to a quiet grove with a marble dais in the center, carved with the symbol of the Triforce and the emblems of its three virtues of Power, Courage, and Wisdom. And in the center of that is the pedestal where the Master Sword waits to be claimed by the Hero. You can try to draw it if you like. Do you think you’re worthy? (Is this basically a ripoff of Disneyland’s Sword in the Stone? Yes. Is the whole Master Sword stuck in a pedestal already a ripoff of Arthurian legend anyway? Also yes.) Another unlabeled path leads directly between the grove and the main area, and a third connects it with Epona Ranch. There are many ways to discover the Master Sword if you’re willing to explore the unknown.
Skull Kid’s Dash-n-Twist: This “mad mouse” style roller coaster is themed around the concept of chasing the mischievous Skull Kid through the forest treetops, with dangerous forest monsters popping up at every turn! Is he leading you to safety or hoping the Babas and Peahats will dispose of you?
Deku Gliders: This is a carousel-type ride with suspended cars shaped as if made from leaves, flowers, and twigs. The central mechanism is shaped like a huge flower, and the “stalk” extends upward when the ride begins, giving riders an elevated view of the surrounding area.
Shops
9. Outfitted For Adventure: If you didn’t manage to pull the Master Sword, never fear—this shop has you covered with toy and prop weapons (including replica Master Swords, we’re not stupid, we know what the people want), as well as souvenir clothing, hats, fanny packs, pouches, canteens, walking sticks, and other simple gear items for outdoorsy and adventurous types. Themed as a small, torchlit cave in honor of the one where Link was gifted his first ever sword at the very beginning of the franchise, the shop has that scene’s famous slogan painted prominently on one wall in the classic NES lettering: “It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this!”
10. The Fairy Fountain: Found one cave over from Outfitted For Adventure, this shop carries all things fairy-related, from books and art prints to dolls and “shoulder pet” fairy toys. The shop has its own background music, consisting of various versions of the famous “Fairy Fountain” theme alternating with other fairy-related music in the franchise.
11. Figurine Gallery: Another feature inspired by The Minish Cap, this kiosk built into the side of a tree (the structure is artificial, but the roof is basically a big planter for real shrubs), sells hand-carved wooden figures and decorative items, no two identical! Limited customization (color stains, a name etched or burned into a figurine base, etc.) is available on some items and can usually be completed while you wait.
12. Flower Cart: This is also a small retail location, selling all kinds of silk flowers and flower crowns. Many of them are generic, but others are made to resemble the fictitious flowers that occur in certain LoZ games—many colors of Pico Blooms (The Minish Cap), Silent Princess (Breath of the Wild), and even Bomb Flowers (various) with light-up “wicks.”
Eateries
13. Minish Mini-Nosh: If you didn’t bring your own lunch to the Picori Picnic Park, you can pick up something tasty at this fast casual eatery specializing in “miniature” food—bite-sized sandwiches, “baby” vegetables, “Minish-kabobs,” and more! Get them a la carte for a quick snack or mix and match a combo for a full meal!
14. Hollo’s Hollow: A callback to the potion-making Korok in The Wind Waker, this is a beverage shop much like Castle Town’s Potion Hut. Also on offer are healthy snacks such as whole-grain crackers, trail mix, and fresh fruit. Conveniently located right next door to Koroks in Concert so you can have something to wet your whistle while you enjoy the show.
15. Saria’s Bakery: Named for Link’s sweet and spunky childhood bestie from Ocarina of Time and located inside a huge hollow stump, this bakery offers a wide selection of rolls, buns, muffins, cookies, cupcakes, and other baked goods. Specialties include Kokiri Fairy Cakes (frosted pale blue and adorned with sugar wings) and a honey butter blend that’s terrific on all kinds of savory bread. Everything is made on-site and guaranteed fresh!
Miscellaneous
You might notice some unlabeled circles on the map. These are artificial tree structures that don’t house any publicly available feature–instead they are used as storage sheds, small employee break rooms, and general ambience.

Ok From your post I can't help but see readr popping out saying you found me and she has a different masks a silent princess flower one. And she has a bell like voice lol the boys finding a puzzle that so hard but is worth it to see reader but it not korko reader lol
The faces they make
Also I feel so bad for KORKO in the game
When I am being chased or see a korkos that needs his friend and is to far from where I am going I bliuf him a shield house and give him a warm fire and food
Lol sage tortimg the koroks
Seeing the reader with her bag
You know he is not sharing or giving her back to her friend he is carrying the reader everwaer
Deku sprout reader broke into the chains house, made it their home, and has no plans of leaving. It just them and their emotional support hero's.
Reader mimicking korocks because as a young deku tree they have a connection to them and sees them as partial family/friends. The Links will do anything to see you smile or laugh and will always stop to solve puzzles.
Cue each Link speedrunning the puzzle so they can see your joy without loosing any time. Warrior is the worst at them because he just doesn't get them, Sky isn't a fan because he doesn't like the koroks popping out at him, and Time likes to watch.
Four is the best at figuring the pizzles out but prefers to stay back and watch the others do it. It's more fun to watch them try while he knows the solution.
Wild and Sage take the cake for the best at the puzzles and often fight each other for who will solve them for you. Those two bicker and get in the others face while you stand there unaware or uncaring waiting to pop out and say hi as the korok does.
Sage would never put you on a flying machine that shoots fire unlike those koroks who encour his wrath. He would much rather carry you around. There aren't many people around who stick close to him. The sages are images of his friends but they're not onenfor conversation and they never seem happy. They just don't smile.
Unlike you! You laugh and smile and always look so happy to see him. He can't help it. The chain have each other and they can always return home if they're tired. He can't do anything. He can't go home and feel safe. You're the one person who acts so friendly who sticks by him.
He needs you and if any of them have an issue with that they can't bite him! Not literally Wolfie might do that to get you back. Not hard but henknows rhe others love you a lot but you'll be much happier here where the koroks and full grown deku tree is.

Battle of the Ships
Round 1 Part 3 Poll 5
Description for the Big Banana : Collapsible boat capable of turning into a Viking longship from a piece of cloth (they're called Frey Boats in universe). This one’s also called “Mikillgulr” which translates to Big Yellow.
Propaganda for the Big Banana : It’s fuckin yellow. Like neon yellow. It’s a full Viking ship, except for the fact that it’s yellow.
Also it unfolds from a handkerchief which is pretty damn cool. Magic. Follows Magnus’s instructions. The Big Banana.
Description for BotW rafts : Unnamed generic wooden rafts with sails. They can be found spread throughout Hyrule. They can be moved by using large Korok Leaves to blow gusts of wind into the sail, though personally I prefer using Magnesis to push a chest against the mast, probably breaking some laws of physics. I'm not sure.
Propaganda for BotW rafts : They kinda suck ngl. They're safer than swimming, but you can also just use Cryonis to create pillars of ice. That way you don't have to worry about steering, or falling out of the raft because you blew the sail just too hard. There's some funny glitches that involve them.

I kept wandering around and found another cave. I had to take care of some monsters first that were in front of it. Then I to the cave but it wasn’t really a cave, it was just an alcove but it had a stump with leaves on it on the ceiling. I don’t know what to do with it though, so I moved on. I came across the Temple of Time Ruins and inside was a giant Goddess statue that said that she was trapped underwater, behind a stone gate of the great plateau. But that was it. Not sure what I am supposed to do, I must have missed something. But I continued on and at the top of the temple where the king had been in Breath of the Wild, I found a chest with the Nostalgic Fabric. Cool. Continuing on, I found a windmill on a big stump that made balloons appear and once I popped them all, a Korok appeared. It gave me my 183rd seed. I then found a Korok laying on the ground that needed to get to its friend and it was a quite a bit of ways up a hill. I didn’t see any materials nearby, so I just carried it up the steps, being careful of the monsters that were around and made it to its friend where it gave me 2 korok seeds. I now have 185 (258 total).

Breath of the Wild part 3:
- found another nut thing because I stacked some boxes, but the guy wants two
- got to the village
- bought a stealth hat yay
- spoke to an old lady
- she said come back when I wanna risk my life so I left
- but then I had nothing to do so I came back
- climbed a mountain looking for a shine
- found one but saw a bunny
- bunny vanished
- found a big cactus asking for money. I don’t trust it but whatever here goes nothing
- damn she’s big
- I guess she can enhance my stealth mask then. That’s nice of her
- oh she’ll let me enhance my pants too, that’s nice
- that robot in the shrine was kinda hard and it broke half my weapons but I guess it’s nice to know how to dodge
- Nevermind these chests just gave me better weapons lol
- heading towards the other village
- killed a couple of deer (?) with a boomerang. I caught on the second one. Also killed a fox with an arrow. I hope there’s no inventory limit on materials
- I see a giant. I hope he is friendly
- he wasn’t friendly. I jumped off a cliff
- travelled back to the duelling peaks tower and climbed a mountain for a shrine. It had a riddle so I went to the other one
- copied the pattern. Didn’t find a chest??
- went to the first one again and found the chest
- got another Korok seed because I pushed a boulder between some trees after getting the second chest
- plan was to glide into that spike shrine I found earlier and it worked well
- I liked that one, it was fun
- hey it’s Beedle. I remember him from Phantom Hourglass
- sold him a sapphire hope those aren’t useful
- the (second) greatest horse trainer challenged me and was very offended when I refused lol
- tamed a horse. I got a brown and wanted grey but it’s okay I guess
- something about Misko treasure
- tried horse combat. Didn’t like it
- who plants flowers like this. I get it’s a maze but Magda’s a bit silly imo
- turns out you can blow up chests. Good to know
- I wonder if Magda will be mad if I use my sword on her flowers
- meh she just seemed a bit upset
-found another stable. Some guy wants me to go to apparently the most dangerous place to ever danger and find a cookbook? He’s gonna be waiting a while lol
- floated around with a chicken. Just for old times sake lol
- found another temple/shrine thing
- those climbing things took a while to line up but we got there
- some rocks tried to kill me so I threw some bombs at them
- there was a big tower but too many guardians. I couldn’t climb the tower without being targeted so I give up
- imma climb a mountain
- found heaps of herbs
- found a shit tonne of apple trees so I’m cutting them down
- I hope this lightning won’t be an issue
- I picked up a rock in a tree and found another Korok seed that’s nice
- I dropped the rock on the guy oops
- almost got hit by lightning but it just set the tree on fire. Starting to think this lightning isn’t just for aesthetics
- that tree got hit a lot. I did not. Happy days
- I’m in Shae Loya shrine if that means anything
- yeah idk what to do I’m leaving
- this guy at the stables gave me 500 rupees to find a fairy. I wasn’t planning to but I found her pretty easily
- this is like the fifth person to complement my appearance lol
- found another shrine with a bunch of big trolls (?) everywhere
- got into the shrine but it’s a combat trial and I’m scared so imma just go
- gave the fairy guy the good news, he seemed happy
- went back to the leaf guy to get more bag space and now he’s gone off somewhere idk
- okay I should probably get beck to the area I should be in
- started heading towards my actual objective, which is Hateno (?) village
- found like a graveyard of guardians and one started shooting that’s rude
- I tamed a horse on the way, I’m starting to like them it’s faster
- the horse got stuck in some rocks while I was looking for somewhere to register it. RIP that I guess
- got to Hateno and got a lovely tour
- committed some arson for the lovely people and can now take pictures
- heading towards that other guy they said could help
- ran into some fish guy guess I have to go to his house now
- it was an interesting trail full of running away but the fish people seem to think I’m courageous enough. Except for the ones that hate me of course
- I never knew that Link had a love interest but here we are I guess
- gotta swim up some waterfalls next time guess

Zelda Theory - The Truth about the Rito in WW
Seems to me that Zelda fans are confused bout the Rito, mainly their appearance in Wind Waker, but to a different extent the appearance in BotW, too.
People are convinced that the Zora turned into the Rito, but that's a misconception. The Zoras and Rito have both existed concurrently since the beginning of time.
First of all, let's clear up that the premise of Zoras turning into the Rito because of the Great Flood is ridiculous! Zoras live in water - flooding would do nothing to them!
Instead, I imagine during the time of the Great Flood, the original Zora Tribe of Hyrule had a decision to make - hang around what used to be their original Kingdom, even though all of their allies have been displaced? Or leave behind this place that had been cursed by the Gods, and look for better waters.
I imagine there was a schism, and a portion of the Zora population left the area known as the Great Sea, while another group hung around and would establish their base on Dragon Roost Island. That's why the symbol of the Zora's Sapphire can be found on DRI.
Second, the idea that the Zora's "evolved" into Rito is preposterous.
Tell me, how much sex did it take before the Kokiri Evolved into Koroks? You want to say, the Great Deku Tree transformed the Kokiri into Koroks. Correct!
Now, doesn't it make sense that Valoo that decided to transform the Zoras into Rito? Maybe they found him on Dragon Roost Island, and he proposed that they become his servants (He is a God) and he would give them the power of flight.
(Maybe that's what caused the original schism, as some chose to remain Zoras and swim away, while others opted to become Rito.)
But, I'll take it a step further and say, I don't think Valoo was the originator of the Rito species. I don't think Valoo has the ability to create an new species, after all, it was the original Golden Goddesses that create all living things in the world of LoZ, he'd be stepping on their toes.
You might wonder about the Koroks, didn't the Deku Tree create them whole cloth?
It's likely the Koroks are just baby Deku Trees. He made them like him.
This opens up the possibility that Breath of the Wild takes place before Wind Waker. But that's a theory for another time.

I think the multiplayer Zelda’s use of items is genius
This is how it works:
Every player is limited to one item. The Four Swords games let players replace their items at specific locations, while Triforce Heroes usually restricts you to only one item for each level.
Puzzles and combat can be solved with several items. Of course, some tools work better than others, but that just makes using the less optimal one an interesting challenge. The final levels of Triforce Heroes even lets the three players choose from the entire time pool, allowing them to use their favorite weapons or try different strategies for the challenging battles.
And here’s why it’s not just great for multiplayer:
The Imitation in the multiplayer games, of course, leads to more player interaction, as everyone gets different abilities that have to be utilized in puzzles and combat. But I found that it also kept the gameplay fresh by changing the way you handle problems with every new item.
That is only possible through item limitation because it prevents them from becoming obsolete. In traditional Zelda games, the way the player interacts with the environment changes permanently after they obtain an item. For once, it usually unlocks certain barriers through item-specific puzzles or enemies. Some items also just offer easier ways of defeating enemies, therefore making older methods obsolete. For instance, the bow oftentimes makes the boomerang useless for regular combat and the fire rod in Link’s Awakening even replaces the bow towards the end. It’s good to have more options, but because one is clearly superior, it’s really more of an upgrade.
In modern Zelda:
I found this problem to be the most prevalent in Breath of the Wild, actually. I don’t mean the sheika runes that basically give you four main items from the start, but the collectible bows and melee weapons. In somewhat survival-oriented games, letting players be creative with their abilities is a big part of the fun, and it’s there in botw too, at least towards the beginning. The regular weapons found later in the game, however, are so strong and always available due to enemy drops, that sheika runes or special weapons like korok leaves or elemental rods become pretty unnecessary in combat. (Puzzles work really well though, as they’re barely affected by player progression)
Similarly, the option to change outfits at any time diminishes a lot of potential new situations. Most outfits have advantages and disadvantages, but because you can just swap them anytime, there’s no choice to be made in picking the right clothes. They’re just like upgrades that have to be equipped every time.
Wish for the future:
If a game like breath of the wild had a harsher restriction to the amount of items and clothes the player can carry, I think that would honestly lead to so much more intense gameplay. Eventide island and the early game are examples of that already. Having to play a section of the game with just a few selected items or a specific outfit lets the player consider every possible way of using their items with the environment and make the content that’s already there more interesting. A possible way of implementing such a system could be letting players change clothes and items at stables or campfires (as suggested by YouTuber matthewmatosis). I’m thrilled to see what kind of system Nintendo will come up with for Tears of the Kingdom!

it's a long and not interesting text i mostly wrote for myself so if you just want facts (very objective facts) and not just a messy love note for Zelda BotW, please skip to the last part 🔽
🌿 • • • • • • • • 🍁
it's something that I've felt since day one of BotW, but never put it into words until now, for some reason
BotW (and now TotK) is not only something you can see, and hear, and play through, you don't only interact with npcs and fulfill quests, nor do you only explore and make crappy designs choices for clothes and vehicles ; it's a game you feel, that you live, and that's why I can consider it my home: because it is so relatable, it's so easy to read
We can feel the soft blow of the wind 🍃, the heat of the sun ☀️, the freshness of the caves 🍄, the weight of the water, the peace and calm of the forest 🌳, the rush of blood before a high jump 🫀, the lightness of the clouds ☁️, the relief when you find shadow in town in the middle of the desert 🌴, the chill down your back in the Thundra Plateau ⚡,
and, most of all, you can feel the loneliness, the loss, the need for Link to do his best and more, because he is the only one that still really cares about the princess' fate (beyond the fact that he's also the only one who can stop Ganon to literally take over the world), who also was so lonely, soooo lonely and desperate, so strong and patient, sacrificing hundreds of years of her life for a Kingdom where none of her loved ones still lives
i especially love the Prelude 💛 part because, the game may be funny to play, and you spend most of the time doing everything except actually saving the world from Ganon, but at the beginning you are on your own, with just a phantom 👻 who pops up from time to time and give no explanation of what's happened to the world, and you first experience the game among ruins 🪨, nature🪺, all alone among a history you don't know anything about, you feel nostalgia for a world you forgot about (and as a player, you don't know about), you're meant to save the world but for now you just have to survive the wild and trials from thousand-year-old crazily-still-alive-somehow monks ;
anyway, the world is ending but the birds are chirping 🎶 and the sunset next to the sheikah tower is beautiful 🌄 and your feet are cold in the mountains 🏔️, you're not exactly happy but it's like a rebirth, the discovery of the world, the achievement of surviving it, and the hope to see someone you really care for at the end, who's waiting just for you ♥️
i meannnnn ------ we cannot not cry over this game,,, right ?
i don't know what i'm saying, i just saw the picture above earlier and found it beautiful and somehow i had the words today that i didn't have yesterday, so here it is
🍁 • • • • • • • • 🌿
i got further than i'd thought i'd go but in a (big) nutshell what i was trying to say:
• this game succeeded in making you live in it, feel for it, thanks to graphic design, nature animation, sound effects and so on - i suspect Hidemaro Fujibayashi was directly inspired by Miyazaki's work
• damn Link and Zelda are fckg alone and have wayyy too much weight on their shoulders for seventeen-year-old hylians, i expect the Kingdom to have really good shrink - and please Ganondorf leave them live their life from now on until the next generation please, give em a break
• the beginning of the game is legendary, they made such a good work putting Link all alone on this Plateau, without any (maybe just one and some koroks) npcs, it's both calm and peaceful and nostalgic and fckg lonely and sad, but it also feels somehow safe and like home ; i think it's the moment where you feel the game the most, before getting into complex quests in a giant map
• PS i don't ship Link and Zelda, for some reason I feel like their relationship is far more complex than just platonic or romantic (or seggsual), so i believe they can definitely live together, and they should, because really it's like they are the only two of them not changing in a world that changed a lot
• PS(2nd) about that, i love the fact that Zelda settled in Link's house, but i've got to save this one for an other post
• i don't want this post to end because i don't want to stop talking about it
• ...i didn't summarize at all, the nutshell's been taken by a korok

Anonymous asked: How does Sheik handle Link's death? To other Links? Inu / you've reached the mun!
You have to remember that Sheik is a Warrior. So if you expect him to grieve it just won't happen. Not--not in the way one should grieve.
I actually wrote him doing it in my BOTW fan/fic. Sheik handles Time's death, as Wild words it, "The grave didn’t seem to startle the man as much as Link expected it would. / He handled the death of a friend with a skill that Link could only compare to a soldier." Sheik is a sage for a very long time, to him death is inevitable. He doesn't age as a sage, but he understands everyone around him does. To expect the world to not move, simply because he doesn't, is childish thoughts.
Sheik is trained to crush his emotions. To bury them far beneath whatever rock there is, to move on. Focusing on the task at hand, what is going on around him, is far more important than allowing his emotions to cripple him. This is also a skill taught to him by IMPA. So when faced with the reality that Time is actually gone, he processes it and moves on. Rather than allow himself to feel the emotions over it, he simply registers the words/understanding, more or less. Not allowing himself to focus on it, to feel.
Sheik sees all the "heroes" as seperate people. They are not Time, they're are not the man he knew. They're just the next one fucked by destiny. He has some fondness for them, simply for their shared connection to Time, but they inheritantly different. He doesn't just hand them his trust and stick the labels of the man he knew on them. The fondness, love, Sheik has for the "Hero" and even Princess Zelda, comes from their shared bond. Their connection. Which was to Time Link / Time Zelda. The man he guided for years and the woman he grew up with.
They're all different and he can see the differences.
( Below the cut is the excerpt from the fan/fic ie; Sheik faced with Time's grave )
Link climbed out from beneath the other and stood to his feet, holding a hand out. Sheik watched him a moment before slowly letting go of his head and accepting the help. They got him to his feet and Link was pleased to see he was slowly regaining his sense of balance. He had no idea where they pulled the guy from but he moved like he’d been asleep for as long as Link was. Sheik tested his wrists, rolling them around, spinning weapons through his fingers that he just pulled from somewhere in his body suit. He shifted his shoulders, stretched his legs and then turned to Link.
He finally spoke and his voice sounded as soft as he looked yet as deadly as he was sure the Sheikah was. “My name is Sheik as you seem to know, the last of the Sheikah Warriors. You said the Hero sent me to aid you?”
The grave didn’t seem to startle the man as much as Link expected it would. He kept the conversation he had with the Hero to himself and the other didn’t ask, just stood at the foot of the grave with an unreadable expression on his face. He handled the death of a friend with a skill that Link could only compare to a soldier. It honestly made him feel bad for the other. He gave him his time, picking flowers and food he found on the ground in the small clearing. When Sheik seemed ready for him to approach Link made his way back over and sat the items he collected at the base of the tombstone.
It wasn’t much of an offering but he had little else and somehow he didn’t think the Hero would mind the lack of gold he had for an offering. Link still arranged it as nicely as he could and stood back up to face Sheik.
Sheik watched the grave still as he spoke. “Where are we?”
“The Lost Woods, the Korok lead me here with a song. I probably won’t be able to find my way out without them.”
Sheik shook his head and turned to leave the clearing. “I can show you the way.” That only gave him more questions than answered. “We’ll discuss the problems you have once we’re out of here, you don’t want to get lost in the woods, it’s best to pay attention.” Despite the others back being to him he still nodded his head and quietly followed along. This time there was no music but the forest seemed to welcome the Sheikah as if he was an old friend.

Legend of Zelda Theme Park - Lost Woods
(I'm going to try this new thing where I shade part of the overall park map an appropriate color to show which area I'm talking about.)
A well-shaded area of picnic tables and benches sits alongside an elaborate playground, and everything is in the shape of giant flowers, leaves, mushrooms, and other objects to make you feel as though you've shrunk to Minish-size!
The Great Deku Tree: He's not a ride, nor exactly a show, but the guardian spirit of the Lost Woods is an impressive sight all the same. He continually grumbles and sighs and makes different expressions as he watches over the forest, and his spreading crown (the dashed outline shows its rough extent) is made from a system of hollow twigs and retractable artificial leaves in a variety of colors, so that his foliage can shift with the seasons. Moreover, he serves as the entrance to another attraction entirely...
Lost Woods Labyrinth: The largest attraction footprint in the Lost Woods belongs not to a ride, but a walkthrough—a “maze” that you can't actually get lost in. Entered through the base of the Great Deku Tree's trunk, the labyrinth winds in a convoluted fashion through a fantastical landscape of forest groves and small caves, with occasional branching paths that encourage repeat visits. Some scenes include interactive elements--motion sensors cause Deku Scrubs to pop up and spit water, or a scene of Koroks at play includes a pushbutton that makes more of them descend into view on their little leaf-propellers.
The Grove of the Master Sword: At the exit of the labyrinth, guests have the choice to return to the main area of the Lost Woods...or take a picturesque but unlabeled path that leads to a quiet grove with a marble dais in the center, carved with the symbol of the Triforce and the emblems of its three virtues of Power, Courage, and Wisdom. And in the center of that is the pedestal where the Master Sword waits to be claimed by the Hero. You can try to draw it if you like. Do you think you're worthy? (Is this basically a ripoff of Disneyland's Sword in the Stone? Yes. Is the whole Master Sword stuck in a pedestal already a ripoff of Arthurian legend anyway? Also yes.) Another unlabeled path leads directly between the grove and the main area, and a third connects it with Epona Ranch. There are many ways to discover the Master Sword if you're willing to explore the unknown.
Skull Kid's Dash-n-Twist: This “mad mouse” style roller coaster is themed around the concept of chasing the mischievous Skull Kid through the forest treetops, with dangerous forest monsters popping up at every turn!
Shops
9. Outfitted For Adventure: If you didn't manage to pull the Master Sword, never fear—this shop has you covered with toy and prop weapons (including replica Master Swords, we're not stupid, we know what the people want), as well as souvenir clothing, hats, fanny packs, pouches, canteens, walking sticks, and other simple gear items for outdoorsy and adventurous types. Themed as a small, torchlit cave in honor of the one where Link was gifted his first ever sword at the very beginning of the franchise, the shop has that scene's famous slogan painted prominently on one wall in the classic NES lettering: “It's dangerous to go alone! Take this!”
10. The Fairy Fountain: Found one cave over from Outfitted For Adventure, this shop carries all things fairy-related, from books and art prints to dolls and “shoulder pet” fairy toys.
Eateries
13. A King is Nothing Without His People
Chapter 5
Long Awaited Encounter
CW: Minor mental breakdown
<- Previous Archive Next ->
After an eventful lunch with Bolson and Karson, Link decided to head inside. One, to check on Fostri, and two, to clean their dishes by hand. While he appreciated the slate cleaning everything that was put inside it, it was nice to do things by hand occasionally. When he looked at the table to where Fostri should have been he frowned when he didn't see his friend. The abandoned Hylian Cloak still sat on his table, this time not holding his Korok companion. Link set plates on the table and looked around, not seeing the Korok in the kitchen. A quick look behind the stairs showed the Korok wasn't hiding there either. Did something happen to Fostri or was he just hiding again?
If a look behind the stairs didn't show results then maybe looking at the top of them will, he thought as he began climbing the stairs. At first glance the Korok was nowhere to be seen, but at second glance the flower that dutifully sat on his nightstand seemed different. Where it once stood like a perfect guard, straight and unmoving for hours, it now sat more freely, like an invisible weight was lifted from its small leaves. There was a slight slouch to the stem and the leaves seemed to dance in an invisible wind. Its petals now fuller and a different color. It was the same kind of flower the Koroks hid in, a white beauty he adored. He always wanted to pick one but the Koroks never allowed him to do so, it was a wonder Bolson managed to find a similar flower. The flower, which usually held withdrawn, pale yellow petals, now held blooming pearlescent white petals.
Link walked over to the flower and hesitantly brushed a finger over the surprisingly soft petals. He never cared to touch the flower, always choosing to admire it from afar than view it up close. After a few seconds of petting the flower, he jumped back when a cloud of green smoke blew in his face. He had forgotten he was looking for the Korok. There stood Fostri, holding another flower. Though this one looked much less like a flower. "Yahaha, you found me!" He said and held the flower up to Link, letting him examine the plant. It wasn't any kind of flower Link had seen before, it almost looked like a pinecone but more flowery and plant-like. Instead of being hard like wood, the petals were soft yet thick and short, a dark pink coloring the petals instead of a comfortable wooden brown. "It's called a pine flower! It means hope and- it means hope!" Fostri quickly blurted out, almost like there was something else he wanted to say but was hesitant to say so.
Link didn't question the sudden cut-off in the sentence, instead walking closer to the nightstand. There was no stem to hold it so he had to carefully balance the flower in his palms. "What kind of flower is this? I've never seen anything like it in the wild," Link asked as he ran a thumb over the petals.
Fostri began hovering away from the nightstand, the yellow flower back in place. It was almost a sad sight to see now, a flowery soldier standing to attention. "It's a baby pinecone! Pinecones hold pine seeds so they grow as flowers! So you're holding a baby pinecone, not a flower. But I thought it'd be a good gift since I hope you're finally free of your adventures!"
Fostri let out a smile, hovering in front of Link as he held the flower in his palms. Below the two of them, there was an argument happening in Link's living room.
"Revali! Don't bring up such embarrassing moments!" Mipha yelled, her face hot with anger and embarrassment. "He's right here and he'll be able to hear us at any moment!" She covered her face with two delicate hands. You'd never guess she was a trained warrior with how small her hands were.
Revali continued with his teasing. A hundred years spent with the Zora taught him when he went too far. "Mipha you seem confused, I wonder why? You're not denying the truth now are you?" His teasing tone never once leaving his voice. He dodged the sharp nails that were sent his way, almost phasing into Link who was now at the bottom of the stairs. Urbosa had been the only one to follow him upstairs, the other three staying downstairs. Mipha and Revali stood bickering next to the stairs while Daruk sat in the table, watching the two go back and forth.
"Now now Blue Jay, what have I said about teasing our poor Princess?" Urbosa said as her heeled foot stepped off the last step, sending a disapproving look to the Rito. "I thought I told you not to tease her while I was away. Honestly Blue Jay, how could you leave me out of the fun?" She asked and walked closer to Revali, draping a dramatic arm over his shoulders.
The scene was calm and still, like a photograph. A family of four teasing the youngest of themselves, perfectly unaware of everything going on around them.
Link was now downstairs with a Forest Child, who soon left the scene to explore the area around Link's house. He began getting out his polishing supplies, humming tunes to himself. Revali and Urbosa continued to tease the lovely lady Mipha, sending the poor Zora red. She whipped around to look at Daruk, a pleading look in her eyes. "Daruk! Help me please!" She begged, moving to hide behind his body.
Daruk laughed, holding his arms up in surrender. "Sorry little sister, no can do! I don't want Urbosa so come after me next, you're on your own!" He spoke loudly, his whole body shaking. Mipha stares at him incredulously, disbelief on her face.
"You traitor! Oh if only Link could see us, he wouldn't allow me to suffer like this," she whined and covered her face again. The other three ghosts could tell she was only mildly upset, if even that. If anything she was just putting on a show to keep everyone entertained.
"Mipha you should be careful what you wish for. I'm pretty sure he can see us right now judging by how he's holding your trident." Revali called as he stared at Link, who was holding The Lightscale Trident in an offensive position. Mipha would have been ecstatic over how he correctly held the Trident… if the prongs weren't pointed directly at her.
Link lifted the Trident higher, a conflicted look on his face. He almost recognized these people. They seemed so familiar, like people he should know but can't quite remember. "Who are you? How did you get in here without me hearing you?" He asked and stepped closer to Mipha, knuckles turning white with how tightly he was holding the weapon.
Daruk suddenly stood up, everything below his waist still phasing through the table. "Woah there little guy, it's us! Your fellow champions! You freed us from our beasts so we gifted you our powers, that ring a bell?" He asked, his tone cautious. While being stabbed with the weapon wouldn't hurt it would definitely lead to a lot of explanation. "We can explain everything."
And so they did. The champions explained a hundred years ago. The fall of the champions, the rise of Calamity Ganon. They explained how they followed Link around since the very beginning and how they met all sorts of people along with him. They explained the adventures they had along with Link and they explained the near-death-again experiences they had.
By the time they were done, it was well into the evening. The sun was kissing the horizon and it was around the time Link would start making dinner, though he didn't want to leave the house. Not now.
"So... You guys have been with me this whole time?" Link asked. He wasn't sure if he should be amused, ashamed, embarrassed, or mortified. He knows he did stuff. He knows he did stuff he would never tell another soul. But having four souls witness the stuff he's done? He'd rather fight Ganon ten more times. Unfortunately, (for him at least) Ganon would not rise for another few hundred or thousand years. Long after he was dead. Truly a tragedy.
Revali let out a sigh, shaking his head in disappointment. "Is that not what we've spent the last nine hours explaining? Yes. We've seen you in your underwear, we've seen you climb a building just to jump off of it, we've seen you get bucked off of your giant horse- who I can't believe you named Midget! We've seen you sneak into Gerudo town, we've seen you fall down a hill, and we've seen you almost bomb yourself to death! Goddess we've seen you cry over a doe getting separated from her herd! We've been here for the past year and we've seen everything!" Revali ranted, clearly needing to let some unchecked aggression out.
A disapproving click was heard from Urbosa. "Revali. While I understand your frustrations, that was uncalled for. Link is still trying to adjust to us being here." She scolded the Rito, something she hasn't had to do in almost seventy years. "To answer your question, Link, it's difficult to explain. Our souls were following you but we weren't with you. We only followed you for short amounts of time as we couldn't be far from our beasts for long but there was always at least one of us with you at all times. When you freed us from our beasts and we gave you our powers, it was like our souls became infused with yours. At first, it was such a powerful feeling. We were- are- still extremely weak, nowhere near as strong as when we were alive. But after we took refuge in your soul it was like a major power boost."
Urbosa explained to the best of her abilities, but she wasn't entirely sure how it felt. Only Mipha knew how it felt to be completely free and alone. The other three ghosts appeared to have the same thought, looking over to the Zora. Mipha, uncomfortable with the sudden attention on her, began explaining what Urbosa hadn't.
"We were bound to our bodies which had long decayed. It took a few years for us to learn how to separate with our bodies, perhaps around ten or fifteen. But by then the damage was done. Ganon had already taken you down and Princess Zelda had sealed herself in the castle. After you freed me I thought that was it, I would disappear. When my soul became infused with yours I felt... I'm ashamed to admit it but I felt so powerful. Your soul was so strong. The longer I spent hidden within your soul the stronger I felt myself become. It was addictive.
"I sometimes spent weeks in your soul, growing stronger and stronger. I had to stop myself when I noticed how much of a toll it was for your health. Occasionally we rest within your soul but only for a day or two at most, usually when we're drained of energy." Mipha rambled on as she grew more and more anxious. She hadn't even realized how off-topic she'd gone, she was so guilt-ridden with how much she had hurt her childhood friend.
Link frowned and moved closer to the Zora, gasping in shock when his comforting hand phased through the Zora. He hesitantly withdrew his hand but put it palm up on the table. "Mipha, it's ok. I don't even remember so I'm not mad. I should've taken a break anyway, I was probably pushing myself too hard." He reassured, putting on his best comforting smile when Mipha looked over at him.
She laughed and brought a hand up to her eyes, gently wiping the tears from her eyes. "Thank you, Link. I needed to hear that." She said and flushed when she noticed everyone was looking at her in various degrees of concern. "O-Oh! B-but this isn't about me! We should be talking about you! Where do you plan to go first while Lady Impa travels here?" She asked to get the attention off of her. They all knew it was a ploy to change the subject and unfortunately, it worked.
"I plan to head to Gerudo Town tomorrow, spend a day or two there, then Rito Village. I want to go to the Lost Woods too, talk to the Great Deku Tree and let Fostri talk with some of his friends. Then it's Goron City and I'll finish up with Zora's Domain." Link explained, ignoring the fact that he had two remaining days. He didn't want to tell them he planned to go to the Castle, even if they would find out eventually. He didn't... He didn't want them to be reminded of how pathetic he was.
The ghosts shared silent glances before wisely keeping their mouths shut. "Speaking of that cursed Forest Child, where is it? We've been talking for a few odd hours so he should've been back by now." Revali asked no one in particular, looking around the small area. Link and Mipha had taken up one of the table heads, Daruk moved so he now sat on a long side of the table instead of inside of it, Revali himself sat at the other head and Urbosa sat opposite of Daruk. There was no korok insight.
Link whipped his head around, surprise and concern filling him. "He hasn't come inside so he must still be outside. I'll go look for him..." Link trailed off when he stood up and noticed the ghosts followed him up. Urbosa stood up while the other three seemed to sit or lay on air. He decided not to question it, guessing it was a ghost thing. He walked to the door and opened it, relieved to see Bolson and Karson making their way across the bridge. "Goodnight!" He called out as he closed the door, getting two goodnight's back.
His first stop was the stubborn rock that stood in front of his house. He lifted it and waited for a cloud of green to follow but was disappointed when nothing came. He turned around and walked over to the pond near the side of his house where he was met with the sight of Mipha sitting in the pond between Urbosa's legs. Urbosa was dipping her legs in the water and running a hand over Mipha's head fin, keeping her gaze on Link as he walked closer. Daruk was leaning against the giant tree while Revali looked up at the tree branches. Link couldn't see his expression but he had no doubt the Rito was thinking of flying. "You guys look relaxed, do you always do this when I come to Hateno?" He asked as he walked over to the giant tree that sat behind his house. Maybe Fostri decided to take a nap up there? He thought as he began climbing the tree. His question was soon answered when he got to the top and noticed a little green lump sat in the middle.
Revali gave a huff and looked away from Link, turning around so he could lean on the tree. "We didn't have anyone important to look after in Hateno so we took a break while we were here. We found out that water is one of the few things we can touch and enjoy, so we relax by this pond most of the time." He explained as he watched the girls quietly talk amongst themselves, both of them keeping a spare eye on Link. They were all a little cautious of his health with what happened a hundred years ago.
"Few things you can touch? What else can you guys touch?" Link asked curiously as he took the little Korok in his arms. His breath hitched for a second when he saw that Fostri wasn't moving- wasn't breathing. He carefully cradled the body in his arms, reminding himself that this body was still alive and he wasn't breathing because Koroks don't need to breathe and oh god he's having flashbacks to yesterday. Her malice-covered skin and her hatred-filled eyes glaring up at him. Now is not the time for that! He has to focus and be strong! The champions will see something wrong and will know he's weak! He let out a shaky breath and tried focusing on what the Rito- what anyone would say next. He could have a breakdown later when he got back on the ground, or back in his house, or tomorrow or never. Never sounded pretty good. He'd like to never have another panic attack
No one said anything for a few seconds, sharing another glance Link couldn't see. "Link would you... Would you like to talk about yesterday? It's ok to cry some more, we won't judge you for showing your emotions." Mipha gently coaxed as she made her way over to the tree. "I'm sure crying with Impa helped greatly but you should talk about it, either with us or someone you trust. Trauma is trauma no matter how insignificant it is," she said and stopped at the edge of the pond.
Link slowly inched himself to the edge of the tree and allowed himself to drop, bending his knees upon impact. It wasn't that far a drop, he's fallen from worse and survived. "I'm-" he started, taking a deep breath to keep the tremble out of his voice. "I'm fine Mipha. I just need a few days... to process everything. I'm going to bed, feel free to follow me or stay here." He wouldn't admit it, but he wished they'd leave him alone. Just for tonight. Just for an hour. He could leave Fostri downstairs in the kitchen with his cloak and cry himself to sleep. That sounded nice.
No one made a move to follow Link as he headed inside, instead staying outside to enjoy their last night in Hateno before they headed off to adventure again. Link did exactly as he wanted to. He fixed up his Hylian Cloak, which he had forgotten to put away hours earlier, sat Fostri on the fabric, went upstairs, got comfortable, and promptly let a few tears loose. He took care to keep his sobs quiet, burying his face in his pillow to do so.
The champions waited a while before they started talking again, speaking in hushed voices. "So Mipha, how do you propose we get him to talk? Because I'm more than willing to hold him at bow-point and force him to cry it out," Revali snarked out as he sat down next to Daruk.
"Revali that would be less than optimal. If anything that would cause him to curl further into himself," Mipha said with a disappointed look. "Wait- why am I the one that has to come up with a plan?"
"Because you've known him for the longest. Besides, you two are technically engaged if I remember correctly," Urbosa replied as she made her way over the pond. She floated over the water and remained floating when she was at a close enough distance. "I'd think you would know your fiance best."
Mipha turned a scarlet shade, hiding her face in her hands. "Urbosa! I never asked him so he couldn't have accepted! If anything he's engaged to my father but my father didn't properly ask him and-!" Mipha cut herself off out of shame when she heard Urbosa laugh, her face almost painfully hot.
"Little sister, you're engaged to Link? I never would have guessed that!" Daruk innocently chimed in. He'd never admit it but he too liked teasing the Zora. After a hundred years it was almost too easy.
Mipha whipped her head up and glared at everyone present before sinking further into the cool water. "I'm going to sleep. I refuse to be the center of your amusement any longer." She huffed out and swam to the center of the pond so she could comfortably drift to sleep.
After a few hushed conversations between the remaining three, they decided to head to sleep as well. It was late, the moon was almost at the center of the sky and they had a long week ahead of them. With a quiet goodnight passed around, the four Champions finally went to sleep.
A good thing they weren't awake to witness the Blood Moon passing overhead.
