when i first made that post about rouge not being a mom people started missing the point and going "shes actually the wine aunt" and then i came back and said shes not a mom OR an aunt and now people are going "fandoms are always trying to force the characters into familial dynamics.. not everything has to be found family!" which wasnt really what i was trying to say either . i can never win on this website

#i mean . yeah not all platonic relationships are or have to be familial . but thats not really what i was trying to talk about here #the post wasnt about whether rouge does or doesnt have a familial relationship with anyone #it was about how shes not a mom /aunt........#because shes only slightly above the average age of a sonic character and also doesnt have a motherly bone in her body ....#she is NOT the other characters' mom or their aunt she is literally just their friend whos older .#and while the post was about rouge specifically yeah its super annoying how girl characters #are often characterized as motherly or as the mom friend in fandom even if it doesnt fit their character at all #rouge is just one of many many examples of that im sure
