Self-Conscious-Rhea Ripley X Gn!Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Reader gets uncomfortable in clothes while out on date with girlfriend Rhea Ripley, Rhea gives reader jacket
A/N: Happy pride month!🏳️‍🌈 Im actually on vaca rn (where I got the idea for this) so get ready for a couple more (long) fic drops this week.
Word Count: 1,192
2nd Person POV
With your girlfriend Rhea Ripley's wrestling career, she was constantly on the move. So, whenever she was home, you two always made the most of it.
And, to keep the relationship from getting boring or too repetitive, you tried to have as many date nights as you could.
You'd both dress up a little bit and then go out and have fun. Sometimes to a nearby theme park, the movies, coffee, bowling, zoos, or aquariums, you name it and it was at least on the list of date ideas if it hadn't already happened yet.
On this particular date night, the two of you had decided to go out and play minigolf before going to get ice cream. Since Rhea was currently out injured and you worked remotely, you had thought it was the perfect opportunity to take a cute little beach vacation for the week.
And while, yes, technically the whole week was one big date, having official little dates throughout the week intermitted between you just hanging out was really nice.
Finishing up getting dressed in the condo you'd rented, you did a quick turn in the mirror, looking at your new outfit from all angles. It was a pair of your favorite jean shorts and some plain black flip-flops paired with a new top you'd gotten from one of the beach stores.
It was a bit on the more revealing side, something you weren't quite as used to as your girlfriend who regularly went on live television in front of thousands wearing very little clothing.
Debating on whether or not to bring your trusty zip-up hoodie with you to wear should you get too cold or uncomfortable, you decided against it, feeling super hot and confident in your new outfit.
"Babe! Are you ready yet?" Rhea came bounding around the corner into your bedroom, swinging herself on the doorframe. "Ooh, babe you look good!"
She came up behind you and held your hips as she kissed your shoulder, looking at the way the two of you fit together in the mirror.
You smiled at her and pulled her arms around your hips to fully encircle you, holding on to them like a safety bar as you watched your movements in the mirror in front of you.
"Mmm." You hummed in agreement as you studied the two of you, "We look good, babe." You corrected.
"We do." She kissed your shoulder again before resting her chin on top of it. "You ready to go get your ass kicked?"
You feigned a large gasp as you turned around in her arms, gently pushing her away with one hand as the other went to your chest like you were clutching your pearls.
"My ass kicked? Oh, it is so on, Ripley." You taunted, inches from her face with a daring grin.
--------------
Once you had paid for your game and gotten your clubs and balls, you stood at the practice hole making small talk until the group in front of you had finished and you two were able to actually start playing.
Taking a look around at the other holes, you noticed an eye or two trained on you. You managed to look away without making any eye contact but the feeling of being watched was there.
Finally, the group in front had moved on and you and Rhea were able to start.
"Ladies first," She swung out her arm, showcasing you to the fake grass. You smiled at her and gave a mock bow as you walked up to the plate. You set the ball down, taking care as to where exactly you wanted it placed.
You made your calculations, pulled back, and swung hitting the ball just a tad too hard sending it flying down to the other side. You watched it bounce off the brick wall, rolling until it stopped about a foot away from the hole.
You groaned jokingly in annoyance as you stepped out of the way to make room for Rhea.
She made a show of walking up to what was essentially the pitcher, shaking out her legs and arms the same way she does before a match, getting ready for her first swing.
She pulled back, and she hit the ball. Unlike yours, hers wasn't hit hard enough and stopped about a foot away from the hole on the opposite side of where yours ended up.
Disappointedly, she shuffled her feet down to where her ball had landed as you laughed, making your way to where your own ball had landed.
"Shut up," She groaned, then motioned for you to go first.
You made it in two.
Rhea, however, made it in four.
Halfway through the game, you were almost tied, you were one point ahead. It was agreed that the overall loser would have to pay for the ice cream, and you did not want to pay.
You managed to not think about what you were wearing once so far, even though you had caught those same eyes from before on you once or twice more. That is until a large gust of wind came through and goosebumps danced along your skin. You could feel your nipples harden slightly but thought nothing of it until you caught another pair of wandering eyes on you, your shirt too tight to not see anything.
You lowered your eyes, embarrassment and anxiety clouding your mind and you went silent while Rhea excitedly told you about something or other. You wish you had brought your damn jacket. That way, you wouldn't be cold anymore or, super self-conscious.
It was while waiting for the next group to finish in front of you that Rhea noticed something was up.
"You've been quiet, babe. What's wrong?"
You tried to just brush it off, it wasn't serious, it was just you overthinking things again, like usual.
"Nothing, babe. I'm all good."
Rhea persisted, "No, I can tell when you're all good, and you're not. What's wrong, did something happen?"
Wanting the conversation to just be over at this point, you caved. "I'm just a little cold and uncomfortable in my new shirt, nothing to worry about."
Rhea frowned at this, taking obvious offense that this was "nothing to worry about" because you bet your ass she was going to worry about it.
Wordlessly, she shrugged off her own jacket and began swinging it around to lay it on your shoulders.
You stepped back, "No, no, no, Rhe. It's fine, keep your jacket. I'll get over it once the wind dies down."
At that very moment, the wind picked up even bigger than before, making Rhea's hair fly around your faces as your goosebumps increased tenfold.
She gave you that look like, "told you so" before continuing to put her jacket on you.
You blushed like it was the first date all over again as you slid your arms into the sleeves.
Rhea had a shit-eating grin on her face, looking super proud of herself as she looked you up and down wearing her jacket.
"You look good wearing my clothes. Should do that more often." She leaned forward and kissed your cheek before swaggering away to play the next hole, leaving you there a blushing mess.
Rhea wound up winning, but, being the best girlfriend ever she paid for your ice cream anyway. And, she let you keep the jacket. Just in case.

☆ the boxers at a escape room ☆
did this because i felt bad about not posting, will post a weekly update during the weekend + some art hopefully, ive had this on my shoulders for a while, this is so cringe fail
Build-Up
Okay so i made up lore for this escape room:
It's an abandoned hotel, decorated all fancy, theres old couches, fake rotary phones and a bunch of weird symbols used later in the puzzles.
It's really colorful but the theres barely any lightning because the vibes need to be settled, theres a lot of puzzles, including: puns, math and the weird symbols mentioned
The lore starts as a hotel shutting down after a serial killer takes over & goes on a massacre, theres a time limit of 2 hours, when the time is over the game is done & a dude with a really bad voice effect says "the killer has got you" Before the doors open
When theres only a few minutes left, a buzzing sound effect plays
Theres a lot of "fake" spiderwebs with cryptid texts too so enjoy that
Glass Joe
- struggling with the puzzles, his brain is melting
- "we have to turn on the TV for clues i think"
- "or a baking show"
- "either way im watching"
- hes not taking this seriously, at all
- keeps using a prop phone like its real & talking on it, ended up getting into a argument with the air
- laying down on the decorative couches "draw me like one of your french girls.." style when hes tired
- "we're gonna die, is the killer hot at least?"
Von Kaiser
- complete opposite with Joe, hes taking this seriously, too serious
- "I WILL NOT LET THEY EVIL HOTEL MAN KILL US ALL. NO!"
- acting like the evil hotel man will actually get him
- doing really good with the math puzzles, hes a natural
- dialing 911 on the fake rotary phone
- runmaging through everything, no chair left un-thrown, no couch left un-turned, no drawer left closed
- when the 10 minutes notice ringed in he screamed like a goat
Disco Kid
- Just bored, he got dragged along and doesnt feel like doing anything
- "does the TV have anything interesting on it"
- "Disco we are being chased by a evil serial killer i dont think you should be so calm"
- escape rooms dont have enough charm for him like haunted houses
- doing cartwheels across the room, accidentally knocked over a bookshelf and revealed a clue
- hes already done with this shit, let him out
King Hippo
- doesnt have any idea whats going on, hes just confused
- doesnt know whether to help kaiser or laugh with Joe
- thinks the argument between Joe and the air is real
- hes so lost
- "mom i frew up" pose while watching everyone do the puzzles
Piston Hondo
- calmly trying to do the puzzles
- trying to help kaiser calm down
- laughed at disco toppling over the bookshelf for a solid 20 minutes
- hes SLAYİNG the puzzles
- "Joe did you take your meds?? You're arguing with the air"
- "wait i got too caught up"
- He isnt taking this seriously but isnt fucking around like Joe either, hes doing his best to have fun, not too much fun
Great Tiger
- also messing around with Joe, both of them are hysterically laughing at everything knowing damn well they dont know whats going on + cant solve a puzzle to save their lives
- "whens the baking show coming on??"
- reading the books on the bookshelf disco kid rko'd
- He could be helpful but he refuses to because seeing everyone go batshit is hilarious
- keeps tripping over the carpets
Bear Hugger
- him & hondo are peacefully doing puzzles while everyone else is going apeshit, hes having fun
- re-organized the bookshelf disco kid slammed down on, he knows damn well they dont get paid enough for this bs
- cheering Joe on his fight with the atoms
- cleaning up behind everyone because hes a decent person
Don Flamenco
- very confused, he thinks theyre all stuck in a silly room for nothing, cannot do puzzles & cannot be silly at all
- Just wandering around & looking for clues
- hes concerned, not only for the boxers but the employees
- thinks the decorations look great, taking notes for his room
Aran Ryan
- doing his evil gremlin thing, chucking stuff, sneaking around, rolling on the floor, hes simply thriving
- scaring people for fun
- hysterically laughing at everything because the lightning is shitty & that makes everything funnier for him
- saying the dumbest shit
- got inspired by disco kid wrecking the bookshelf and decided to throw a couch across the room
- laughing at the wall
Soda Popinski
- Really confused along with King hippo
- hes just following everyone around like a sick puppy
- sad that he cant bring his soda but understands because he has spilled soda multiple times on his stuff and suffered the consequences
- awkward shrugging anytime someone asks him whats going on
Bald Bull
- also hysterically laughing with aran, bad lightning with cheap horror music fits too well for him
- him & aran are cackling at kaiser knowing damn well they both need therapy
- Just having fun
- He doesnt give a shit about anything right now, this is one of the only times he can maniacally laugh at thin air and not get stared at
- was the one to convince disco kid to do a cartwheel
Super Macho Man
- pretending to understand whats going on, Just as confused as soda
- Really bored
- not much to say, hes just.. neutral
Mr Sandman
- Really calm & carrying the entire team
- concerned for aran & bull since he was the only one to notice them maniacally cackle at thin air
- suprisingly not ready to punch someone out into orbit
- extremely worried for disco's bones because no one throws a entire bookshelf onto themselves and walks away fine
- brought a camera to get some real gems
- keeps coughing like hes on life support because of the ridiculous amount of dust
Extra
They made it out suprisingly thanks to hondo & sandman (barely)
Don realized he has some problems with his lungs after that trip because holy shit he was fighting for his life
Sandman convinced aran & bull to go to therapist (somehow)
Joe enjoyed taking out his anger out on a cheap fake rotary phone
Disco needed to go to the hospital after the bookshelf incident, no one is letting the fact that he broke his back thanks to a bookshelf go
Piston Hondo & bear hugger do sudoku together now since they realized they both enjoy math puzzles
Great Tiger still laughs about the bookshelf incident at night when trying to sleep

Heeey!
Saeyoung, Yoosung, Jumin and Zen reacting to to “hotel only one bed” trope ? ♥️
a/n: of course you can lovely! <3 *AHEM* Lemme just say this trope is ELITE and I will NEVER not love it // also, i’m writing it like it’s before they’re dating (OF COURSE) because I want it to be spicy (actually that’s the only thing that would make sense for this prompt but you get my point whatever). ALSO also I’m basing the fancy hotel off my stay at the Ritz Carlton (it was like $25,000 a night) because my grandma couldn’t manage money N E WAYSS. Also, if y’all could let me know whether you prefer Y/N to MC pls lmk k thx
TW: drunk old lady w/no filter, gets pretty suggestive because I couldn’t help myself, an overbearing aunt, savage Italians, and loud hotel neighbor
Note: omfg i accidentally made this so long oh well here’s yo present lmao
“There’s only one bed” PT.1 PT.2
Saeyoung
Getaway missions are mad cool until you can’t sleep
When you finally neared the parking entrance to your hotel you were SO looking forward to taking a nice hot shower before shimming into the covers of your crisp, (clean, you hoped) sheets.
It was past 3AM when Saeyoung finally drove his elegant vehicular device (because what other word is there for it) into a secured parking space
“Because I don’t trust those shady valets, y/n.”
“Whatever you say, Seven”, you replied groggily.
You hauled ass up to the front desk, then to the elevator of the exquisite hotel you were staying at
not that you cared
because S L E E P
but Saeyoung likes to quote Jurassic Park (because of course he does) like “I spare no expense, y/n”
“I’m too tired to laugh”
*gASP*
“Not everyone naturally stays up until the early morning light before going to sleep.”
“It really should become a thing, it’s honestly very iconic of me.” (it’s not)
By the time your conversation ended you were glad to see your hotel number and a little key card slot.
Saeyoung made a show of sticking the key card in like a spy or something
it was funny for normal y/n but not for tired y/n
“Here’s your room, M’lady.”
He held the door open to your room as you looked around the room
a large, lush bed set before a ginormous flat screen TV with complimentary expensive chocolates laid before you as well as complimentary take-home elegant towels and slippers.
suddenly, you heard a knock on the door
blinking in confusion, you opened to see it was Saeyoung
“Um.. hey! What’s up?”
Saeyoung looked a bit bewildered himself before saying,
“Hey, so, I realized my key card was the same room number as yours and I was like ‘That’s weird!’ so I called the front desk who verified that I had placed a reservation for one room, not two, so I hacked into their system to see what went wrong and if I could change it but it looks like they’re completely booked and I think I had made the reservation before I knew that you had to come along and I’m so sorry”
he was breathless after the mouthful he just gave you
As it was 3AM a drunk, old woman was tripping her way to her room and shouted much louder than she should at 3AM, “Kiss her already n’ fuck, ya youngin’s!”
Saeyoung’s hair now matched his face :)
His ears were tipped bright red before coughing awkwardly
“I can sleep on the ground. I’ve done it plenty of times, it’s actually pretty comfy.”
“Um, Sev’ I’m not going to make you just sleep on the floor. If you want--”
“You’re not making me, y/n, I want to do this”
“Actually I think I’ll sleep on the floor, I sleep a lot better on the ground”, you fibbed.
“You’re sleeping on that big ass bed.”
“No you are.”
“If you don’t listen I’ll sleep in the bath tub instead of the floor.”
“Then I’LL sleep outside the room!”
“LIKE HELL YOU WILL!”
“WATCH ME”
the phone rang, a worker politely asking you to quiet a bit down because even with your luxurious privacy walls, guests could still hear you arguing.
Saeyoung began whisper shouting, “Guess that settles it.”
he plopped on the ground, fake snoring with his arm as a pillow
you sighed
“Fine, if neither of us are going to agree to this then we are both going to sleep in this bed.”
Saeyoung blushed lightly at your boldness, a tad worried you’d find him creepy or weird
You started again, beginning to undress a little, causing Seven to yelp in panic and turn around immediately, shielding his eyes,
Now in your tank top and your leggings you’d been wearing under sweatpants and a t-shirt, you said, “I’m gonna go take a quick shower and go to bed. I’m so tired.”
Seven turned around only when he’d heard the bathroom door shut
he sighed, What am I going to do with this girl.
By the time you’d come out of the bathroom, drying your wet hair, Seven was lying on the bed, clad in casual t-shirt and jeans.
“Come on, Saeyoung, you have comfy clothes! It’s okay, change! I’m done in the bathroom now.”
“Nah, this is fine.” This was not fine. Saeyoung was out of his area of expertise of expecting the unexpected because God you were so unpredictable.
“Please” you jutted out your bottom lip in a little pout, being sure to make eye contact with him
Something glowered in his eyes for a split second before he half-smiled saying, “Ah, little Y/n, you know I can’t say no to you when you go all sad on me.”
He stepped into the bathroom to change, but let’s be honest. He was freaking the fuck out.
he covered his flushed face, changing into his soft sweatpants and a cozy sweatshirt. he was scared
the more comfortable he became the more likely he’d accidentally get closer to you and then you’d freak out because you’d hear the sound of his heart beat like it’s a fucking rave concert and then you’d be weirded forever and quite possibly never talk to him again
but on the outside, he stepped out of the bathroom, whipping his phone out with a huge smirk saying, “Smile”
you threw up a peace sign with your tongue sticking out
he laughed before sending it to the RFA chat
707: Sleepover lolol [see attachment]
immediately both your phones blew up with buzzes of notifications from the chat
you laughed lightly, brushing a stray hair from your face to tuck it behind your ear
this was gonna be a long night for Seven.
Zen: UGH get away from her!!!!!!!!!111!!1!!
Jumin: Maybe you should learn to type first.
Zen: shut it cat freak
Zen: seven answer
Zen: hey
Zen: y/n, text “qwerty” if you’re in any kind of danger
Jumin: What a strange code.
You: qwerty :(
707: lololololol
Zen: !!!!!
Zen: ASJDHKJFASHFKJA
Jumin: -_-
Zen: WE NEED A CAR, NO A HELICOPTER im omw!!
You: just kidding <3 i’m fine you guys
707: lololol
Jumin: Have a bit more faith in your subordinates, Zen.
You closed the chat and muted your phone, expecting the incoming argument that was quickly to ensue.
You patted the bed lightly, ushering Saeyoung to lie down next to you.
He obliged, though he politely laid at the far edge of the left side of the bed.
You yawned before shutting the light off and whispering a “good night”.
Saeyoung glanced at the clock. 4AM. Only 15 minutes had passed. You were breathing softly in your sleep within the 10 minutes after you’d said goodnight and here he was still awake.
You suddenly tousled in your sleep, and Saeyoung raised his head, whispering a soft, “Did I wake you up?”
You replied with a soft moan before abruptly turning left onto his corner of the bed and grabbing for the first thing you’d felt -- his torso.
Saeyoung’s breath hitched as he felt you exploring the new found “object”, running your fingers up and down his torso and nearing dangerous areas below
Saeyoung whisper-shouted, “What are you doing?”
He leaned closer to hear your reply, but your only answer was more soft little snores
Saeyoung sighed, trying to lightly grab your wrists without waking you up, and directing toward yourself
no matter how hard he’d try, your arms kept finding his own
your nails would softly ghost over his chest or neck, causing him to shiver and blush profusely
again, he sighed, trying his hardest not to give into your sleepy state
until you broke him with a soft utterance, “Sae....young..”
Saeyoung’s eyes widened to the size of saucers before he dared to look down at you, your hair curling on the bed every which-way.. your mouth slightly agap...
he groaned, his brows furrowed and his eyes shut
at last he slunk his arms around your torso, being sure to respectfully keep them high around your waist
he buried his face in the crook of your neck to subconsciously try to hide his ever growing blush (and erection)
I don’t know how much longer I can keep doing this ‘friend’ thing when you’re driving me this crazy, y/n.
You awoke to a sleeping Saeyoung, his toned arms enveloping your small body in a hug
shamelessly, you laid still for a few moments longer.
Yoosung
this bean is lonely uwu
so when he’d invited to you go with him on a trip his uncle had paid for, you felt bad saying “yes” because it’s a paid trip!!
until he begged you because his cousin Chaewon would be there and he was always really pushy and borderline a huge fuck boi
so you conceded
but hey free trip for the both of you minus shitty family gatherings with no one you know, right?!
you hope there’s at least one dog. and alcohol.
dog + alcohol at a party = an actual fun fucking time
you were glad Yoosung was there with you because he honestly couldn’t agree with you more
You opened your beach-side resort room to find there’s only one bed.
Yoosung blanched and quickly dialed his auntie, who’d made the resort reservations
“Ah...hi auntie! Um, how come there isn’t a separate room for me and y/n?”
his aunt cackled into the phone, “Aren’t you an old fashioned little gentlemen!!! Awe~~~ you’ve grown up to be such a good boy! <3 Well don’t worry, I won’t say a word to my sister or your pops. Enjoy the time you have with your adorable girlfriend and get it on a little!! I’ve got condoms if ya need ‘em honey~~ Remember dearie, when the shlong is not covered, the child support better be.”
Yoosung hurriedly hung up the phone, his face completely red, praying you hadn’t heard the conversation that’d just ensued.
You did
but you smile and say, “So.. what’d they say?”
He cleared his throat before saying, “Well, --err.. Basically there’s been a little mishap. B-but don’t worry!! I can just ask Chaewon if I can spend the night in his room.”
“Didn’t you say he leaves a sock on the door handle every time--”
“YES but I want you to be comfortable, okay! It’s really not a big deal.”
You shyly smiled while looking down before softly saying, “You can sleep with me.”
Yoosung’s eyes widened and you quickly looked up, your face flushing to a deep crimson
“I-I-I meant in the bed!!! With me. We can lie together. In the bed---- I mean we--”
Yoosung could practically see the steam coming out of your ears and the room felt a LOT hotter
“S-sure! Sounds great.” he had a feeling if you didn’t agree you’d end up embarrassing yourself further.. and he didn’t want you to feel bad. And he didn’t want those thoughts circulating his mind again.
“Alright, so I’m going to hop in the shower, y/n... unless you want to go first?”
Gulping down some complimentary water you’d found in the hotel mini fridge, you quickly replied with a shake of your head.
Nodding, Yoosung make quick work of washing his hair and trying to give himself a pep talk before he would be sleeping next to you.
Thankful for the big size of the resort bed, you climbed under the covers, already beginning to feel sleep take you
When Yoosung had at last dried himself off and walked out to the bed area of the resort room, he gazed at how small you looked, hugging a soft pillow in your arms, your eyes fluttered shut
He looked away, feeling like a creep.
He shut off the light after making a call to the resort staff to wake him up at 8AM as directed by his uncle’s itinerary
He slid under the covers, shoving a pillow in between the two of you as a little border to separate the two of you
it wasn’t until further in the night when Yoosung had felt a jolt and he looked up in panic, through the blackness recognizing the pillow-border had been cast onto the ground
and even more noticeably, your leg was swung over his hip, your body flush to his own
your arms were snaked around his neck
he felt like he could feel every inch of you
your soft breath just below his ear
your soft .. er.. chest... against his torso
your stomach and .. the rest of it... against his own
Yoosung could not breathe
like someone actually help this man for he is losing oxygen by the minute
He squeezed his eyes shut and make the executive decision to wait it out til morning
he was terrified that if he’d move you, you’d wake up and see just how much you affect him.
And so, when the phone rang that morning, you’d startled, looking up to see your tangled limbs lying on top of his own
“oH MY GOD I’M SO SORRY YOOSUNG UGH IT’S A HABIT OF MINE AHAHHSAHDAJSHS”
he looked at you with eyes that had noticeable circles under them (darker than even after his LOLOL gaming)
“you look like you didn’t sleep much.... --- Is it because of me!? Oh my god I’m so sorry you should’ve just shoved me off or something seriously I didn’t mean to do it on purpose, honest!!”
“N-no, no it’s really not!! I promise!!” He tried his best to grin, though it probably looked like a grimace, because the next thing you said was, “I’ll make it up to you”
“You don’t need to do that. Really, I liked it.”
It took a moment for him to realize what he just said.
“I-I mean I like you! I mean I liked sleeping with you!!! I mean--!!”
Yoosung was quickly spinning circles in his mind
you couldn’t help the little giggle that came out of your mouth, “I guess we’re pretty similar, huh?”
Yoosung smiled lightly, “Yeah, guess so.”
You walked out together toward the breakfast area of the resort
“Hey”, you started, “Is.. Did you mean what you said? About liking me?”
Yoosung glanced away, taking a deep breath before saying, “Yeah, yeah I did. I really like you.”
You couldn’t hold back the big ol’ smile that took over your face as you proudly declared, “Me too!!”
Right when Yoosung was going to go in for a kiss, he saw his auntie suddenly right next to the both of you
“Oh my GOD when did you get here?!”
She smirked, “My question first, dearie, what did you two like?”
Neither of you answered, your cheeks growing red
“You know, the first time your uncle did it with me I felt the same way. Like, what a man! Must run in the fam--”
“OKAY! THANK YOU FOR THAT AUNTIE BUT BREAKFAST IS CALLING MY NAME MM SMELLS GOOD SEE YOU LATER.”
Your blush didn’t leave you as you smeared strawberry cream cheese on your toasted bagel
This trip was going to be very VERY difficult. Thank God there was alcohol. And Yoosung. And probably dogs. And Yoosung.
Yeah.
Gotta love relatives.
Jumin
You received a call from a stern voice you didn’t recognize
<<“Hello. This is Mr. Han’s chauffeur. I’m approximately 6.3 miles away from your residence. Do not worry about clothes or other necessities. All will be provided for you.”>>
“Uh.. thanks? Where....?”
<<“Mr. Han has invited you to join him on his stay at the Ppalgan Vineyard Estates. Have you not received the notification?”>>
You glanced at your phone, seeing two unread messages on your phone.
You read them, feeling bad you hadn’t seen them before.
“Yes, yes of course. Thank you. Tell him I said thank you. Are you sure it’s okay for me to attend?”
<<“Miss Y/L/N, Mr. Han gave me specific instructions to assure you would be able to come with him. I have been ordered to give 2 minute updates following your being picked up. I can assure you, it is his utmost wish that you join him this weekend. I’d be honored to thank him on your behalf, though I feel it would mean much more to him if you said it to him rather than me.” >>
“You’re right, thank you. And thanks for driving me. And for all the other stuff you said”, you replied nervously.
<<”There is no need to thank me, Miss. I am glad to serve Mr. Han in anyway I can.”>>
The call hung up before you could spout out more thank yous
you phone buzzed, startling you.
you clicked the notification
<<(XXX-XXX-XXXX HAN COMPANIES) I’ve arrived at your residence. Let me know if there is anything I can carry for you. Sent 13:52>>
You quickly texted a reply of gratitude before rushing down the stairs out of your apartment, not wanting to make Jumin’s chauffeur wait.
“Good to see you Miss Y/L/N. Is there anything I can get you? I have been given orders to purchase anything you may want or need on our way to the airport.”
He quickly texted something on his phone, presumably a text to Jumin about your safe arrival to his limo.
“A-airport? You mean, like, flying? Are you sure I don’t need my wallet? It’s not too late for me to go grab it, right? I have my debit card on my phone too, otherwise.”
“Miss Y/L/N you are not to spent a single won on this vacation. All is paid for.”
“But my clothes... I don’t want Jumin to have to pay for all new things!!”
"I assure you, money is not something Mr. Han wishes for you to be concerned with.”
You’d stayed silent at that, feeling bad that you’d already bothered the poor man who’d just been ordered to drive you, not reassure you of Jumin’s financial affairs.
You grew quiet, looking out the window as trees, streets, and cars zoomed past you.
“If you so wish, there are numerous meals options in the compartments below the seats as well as alcohol, carbonated beverages and iced water glasses. You are, of course, welcome to any of these. Please do not hesitate to notify me if there is something you’d like instead. We’d glad to make it a regular option in all of our limousines.”
You flushed, embarrassed at the amount of power Jumin’s words, and effectively, your own seemed to have on the entire Han Conglomerate as a whole. You laughed a little, it was funny thinking to yourself that you had so much power as to decide snack options for Jumin’s cars.
Jumin was extra like that, he always went above and beyond to make you comfortable. You loved that about him. It made you feel a little spoiled, so you instinctively rejected most offers at things that seemed to further complicate his worker’s duties.
You had no idea that when the chauffeur had said airport he meant the Han Private Airway Transportation Zone.
As in... private jet.
It was hard not to feel like you were in a whole different world.
Not that Jumin treated you that way... but it was hard not to notice!
You bowed in thanks to the driver before hastily finding your way to the nearest man standing in another black suit, his hands folded together in front of him.
As soon as you uttered your name, his whole demeanor changed and he instantly had gone from cool and collected to humble and overwhelmingly kind.
He’d quickly made his way to the boarding area, escorting you to the jet before leaving you at a polite distance way from Jumin who’d been looking at you from the moment you’d entered the aircraft.
His eyes searched your own as you’d yet to discover his presence
He couldn’t help but rake his eyes up and down your body, admiring the way you could look just in anything.
He at last saw you searching the spacious cabin, at last laying eyes on him.
His heart pounded faster, as if your noticing him made his heart leap in joy
You looked relieved and smiled, running over to him and sitting down next to him
“Hi Jumin!! Oh, should I be calling you Mr. Han? That’s what your chauffeur called you.. sorry if that’s what I should’ve been addressing you as!!”
His deep voice rumbled in your ear, causing you to shudder, “Jumin is fine.”
You gazed up at him through your lashes, noticing the way his perfectly tailored vest made him look so... well... for lack of better word...hot.
“Wow. You look...” Your eyes moved from his hair, to his face, to his neck, to his torso, slowly to his groin, to his legs... before you realized what you’d been doing and quickly your eyes shot up again.
You bit your lip, “You look nice.”
“Nice?”
You laughed shyly, and slightly (embarrassingly) breathless, “Yeah. Yeah you do. Nice.”
Jumin couldn’t help the sly smile he’d been holding back before replying, “You look beautiful.”
You flushed and looked down, squirming in your seat a little before looking at him once more, offering a small, “..thank you..”
After a few minutes of silence, you’d decided to change the subject, chattering on about how you wondered what this mysterious vacation would hold
Jumin couldn’t help is concentration half on every word you were saying, but also your lips. Slowly licking his own, he nodded along when you’d gotten especially enthusiastic, grinning slightly when you’d gotten so excited you’d leapt out of your luxury seat.
Within a half hour of the trip to your destination in Italy, Jumin had trouble concentrating on much else.
Get it together, Jumin, you’re not some fool like Zen.
It’d gotten worse the more you’d leaned further in your seat, your chest becoming slightly exposed
he covered his mouth with a hand, opting for looking out one of the many windows of the jet.
You’d always caught his attention and made him lose his focus -- something he’d never lost before he met you
He blamed the strawberry sent that you’d always carried with you
He wasn’t much for expensive, faux perfume that so many of his father’s skanks would wear... it was like no other.
After a few hours of grueling torture on your part (though you hadn’t know every single time you’d grabbed his hand or arm it’d sent his heart on a sky dive) Jumin was glad to have arrived in the gorgeous Italian acreage of the countryside.
It was even more beautiful at the dusk of night, you’d decided
Immediately a shiny vehicle pulled up, ready to transport you and Jumin to the estate you were to be residing in for the weekend.
Upon pulling into the culdesac, you almost scoffed at the word “estate” -- it was more of a country in and of itself, land stretched beyond what you could see
The mansion itself stood on pillars and high, Gothic windows.
Inside, flying buttresses decorated the building, giving it an elegant and aged ambiance that you just adored
“It’s so beautiful.”
He smiled at you then, watching you take in the wonders he’d realized he took for granted.
He was then directed to a double-door entrance way, “Your room, Mr. Han, Miss Y/L/N.”
“Separate, correct?”
The man stood in surprise, looking slightly aghast, “T-they never specified such details.”
“Contact them immediately to confirm. I’ll work it out from there.”
“Yes, Mr. Han.” From there, the man scurried away to contact the head of the estate.
After a few moments, he returned, “The Rossi Conglomerate had assumed that you’d brought your fiance with you.”
“Did you mention I don’t have one?”
“Y-yes, of course! But, Mr. Han, your father--”
Jumin sighed, “I’ll take care of it.” with a wave of his hand, the man was gone
You thanked him on his way out.
Jumin looked at you, searching for a reaction of displeasure or worry
When he didn’t find one, he began, “I was notified the Rossi had booked their other estates to their American investors. My being here is a formality, but it is business. It would be a great discourtesy to demand--”
You smiled reassuringly, “Jumin, don’t worry about it.. we’ll share the bed, okay?” You held your hand in his own, rubbing soothing circles on his knuckles.
Jumin looked at you, choking on his spit slightly.
“Y/N you do understand that--”
“It’s fine, Jumin!! It’s late already, I’ll just put up my hair.. and.. do you know where the night clothes would be?”
He watched as you fixed a bobby pin between your teeth before running your fingers through your hair, watching as you arched your back to--
“Jumin? ...you don’t know?”
He cleared his throat, looking away, pink dusting his cheeks
“Bathroom.”
You thanked him, unaware of his watchful eyes
It had been a few seconds since you’d entered the bathroom before he heard a loud and alarmed, “..UM....JUMIN...?!”
He’d quickly made his way into the bathroom
“What’s wro--”
He looked and laying on the long granite island of the large bathroom was a silky set of lingerie as well as a note in Italian you couldn’t read.
Jumin’s words stopped dead on his lips as he stared at you, then the silky underwear set, you, silky underwear, you.......silky underwear.
On the outside, Jumin liked to think he came off as calm and collected, saying, “I can get you something else to wear.”
But when he’d made it two steps out of the bathroom he had a little collision. And by collision, I mean his face.. and the wall.
He looked in every drawer, finding nothing. He presumed clothes would be delivered as specified. But it was late already.. their servants are dismissed, only the protective guards surrounded the inside and outside of the estate.. explaining the situation to them didn’t seem very promising.
Of course you were kicking yourself, before you’d found their little....gift... you’d cast your days clothes into the washer. They were probably soaked by now.
Maybe I could use a hair dryer...? Or I could stuff them in the dryer??
Either way you’d be without clothes for.. too long.
And nothing would be greater punishment then showing all that in front of the man you had completely fallen for...
You heard a knock on the bathroom door. You listened from inside.
“Hey, I, uh, couldn’t find anything. Do you think you could wear your clothes from today?”
You whimpered, on the verge of tears, “I already put it in the washer!”
He knocked again, “Can I hand you something?”, he asked, undoing the buttons of his formal shirt.
“C-close your eyes!”
Jumin chuckled darkly before covering his eyes and handing her his collared shirt
“I’d give you the pants, too, but I don’t think they’d really fit you. Could you look at what they’d provided for me? Maybe slip on something from mine.”
“N-no! That’d be even worse for me!! .. and you!” You blushed again imagining him half naked
You hurriedly shuffled through the drawers, but to no avail.
You gulped, slipping on the lingerie to ensure that maybe something would be covered before buttoning Jumin’s formal shirt on you as well.
it was so big it didn’t leave much for the imagination
but you decided through a 10 minute pep talk that you’d suck it up and try your best to make his shirt into a night gown.
You at last stepped out of the bathroom, Jumin’s head shooting toward the sudden noise before taking you in
He could scarcely breathe, much less come up with a coherent sentence
you were in his shirt...
with barely any clothes on underneath
and you looked up at him shyly, biting your lip a little
drawing even more attention to your lips
Jumin had to stifle a groan, opting to head to the bathroom to change
After splashing some cold water on his face in a poor attempt to get his head out of the gutter, he quickly got on his pjs
after you both were ready for bed, Jumin sat on the bed, opening a small novel he’d been enjoying, Anthem.
His attention was immediately diverted from the dystopian fiction when he saw you were stretching
His shirt rode up high as he took in the way the lingerie perfect accentuated your curves, though it didn’t cover much below the waist
Noticing your folly, your eyes widened in shock before you immediately put your hands down
which, just your luck, made it all worse.
the sudden movement disheveled the shirt, causing it to ride down completely on one side, openly displaying the soft brassiere beneath it
Jumin slammed his book so hard it left an echo in the large room.
Great. He couldn’t even make it look like his book was suddenly unbelievably interesting that he just so happened to not take notice of the obvious sight before him.
You blanched, feeling a breeze along your shoulder, gasping before running to your side of the bed and pretending you don’t exist anymore
Meanwhile Jumin is in a  c r i s i s
In the most eloquent of words, his mind said holy fucking motherfucking shit oh my God fuck fuck fuck AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH oh my god shit shit shit fuck shit sdfasodjgiajsidogjosdg MALFUNCTION!! WARNING!!!! RUN BITCH!!!
But Jumin didn’t run
because mama ain’t raise no bitch
but also because if he stood up it would be blatantly obvious that he had--
Stop thinking about it, Jumin.
He tried to redirect his mind to his 5 senses, a grounding technique he’d learned when he got too anxious when he was younger
But sight seemed to dominate it as his mind replayed your facial expressions, the way your hands awkwardly tried to cover yourself up, the way you looked the way he’d take it all off---
Oh God. I’m deep in shit.
He had never been so pissed at himself... and embarrassed.
He looked over at you, a horrible decision, really.
You were still awake, your face was redder than the strawberry sent that adorned you
“s-sorry..” you whispered, willing yourself to try to forget, “pretend that never happened..”
Jumin was practically feral and you were saying it never happened?
Jumin couldn’t just pretend he didn’t just see a fucking goddess
but he would for you
“..........pretend what never happened?”
You sighed, a small smile on your face as you quickly turned to thank him
but he was a LOT closer than you imagined
he was propped up on one elbow, looking down at you, his head slightly angled.
And suddenly your faces weren’t so far apart.
And you couldn’t help but slowly close your eyes
Jumin felt confusion when you’d done this
he can be a bit of a pea brain, so he of course said, “I’m sure you’re very tired.”
He shut off the light, reaching over you
You held back the big frown you’d gotten when you realized he’d rejected you
unbeknownst to you that it took everything in him, from the moment he’d saw you in the jet cabin, not to scoop you up in his arms and make out with you the whole way there.
Zen
Was Zen going to invite you to his own fucking tour?
Of course he was
he liked flexing his connections
and most of all, showing you just how much he cared about you
and loved you
but not the love part because God if you ever found out Zen might jump into the nearest body of water and never return
not that he didn’t have any confidence
he has lots of it
but it all kind of disintegrates when he gets to talking about his real feelings
But come on, it was blatantly obvious to anyone who had heckin eyes
or ears
or just any functioning body
the way he’d try to subtly throw an arm over your shoulder
or he’d lean in whenever you spoke
or the way he’d readjust his posture when you walked into a room
or the way everyone caught him staring
like anytime you weren’t looking
or when you are looking because he is “built different”
So the limo ride to the fancy hotel he was to stay at was something that had him looking forward to the tour, but also dreading it
you’d sat close to him in the limo because his agent and other workers were sitting along with him.
So close that your ass got pushed further and further onto his lap
because damn where the fuck are we and why are there so many goddamn potholes
Zen tried to steady you by firmly grabbing your hips
which was NOT the move
because now that you were firmly set on his lap, every bump felt like a fucking war against his hormones.
Like a gentleman, he quickly opted to seat you next to him, not wanting you to feel embarrassed
still, he could feel you being pulled closer to him with every long turn the limo made or every bump or abrupt stop
and it was torture.
like this man is sweating
but by some miracle you arrive at the hotel in one piece! Yay!
but Zen’s soul has left his body~~
so you get set up
You open the room, “Look, Zen! This bed is HUGE!!”, you ran over to it and plopped your face onto the sheets
He chuckled, watching you act like a little kid excited about a hotel for the first time
his brows furrowed when he realized there was no door separator between your rooms
He immediately called the front desk
all you could over hear was “No, there seems to be some kind of mistake”
and “I reserved two rooms -- conjoined”
“Alright, ok. Thanks.” and then he hung up.
“So..” he sighed, “They can’t get another room because they’re completely booked. Someone must’ve recognized the limo and lots of fans immediately bought up all the rooms in hopes of seeing me.”
“It’s alright Zen! I can ask to switch with your agent or something!!”
“NO!” Zen said a little too loudly. “No. Um, look it would be bad because he’s a man.”
“Your a dude, too, Zen.”
“I-- yeah, but that’s different because I’m a guy you can trust.”
“True..”
“So I’ll sleep on the couch, ‘kay?”
“Zen, no! You need your beauty sleep to be ready for your performance tomorrow!!!”
“It’s alright, really!”
“I’ll sleep on the couch!”
“Like hell you will.”
“Please :(”
“Y/N, seriously--”
“Then how about this! You and I just sleep in the same bed!”
Ever the dramatic soul, Zen gasped with his palm over his heart “How SCANDALOUS!”
“Aren’t you supposed to be Mr. Playboy?”
“Only for you, baby”, he winked.
You stuttered, “T-that’s not funny! Seriously don’t make it weird you horn- dog!”
He threw his head back in laughter, “Horn-dog?! I thought you said you trusted me!”
“Not when you’re obviously thinking about doing this and that to me!!”
“Doing this and tha---Hey! Who do you think I am?!”
There was suddenly a loud bang on the wall and a burly man shouted, “GO TO FUCKIN’ SLEEP YOU OBNOXIOUS, SEXUALLY FRUSTRATED LITTLE SHITS!”
You smirked, holding in a laugh saying, “Sounds like your fans are getting jealous.”
Zen’s mouth dropped and you began laughing hysterically
“T-that was like a 60 year old man!”
“I’M 42 YOU LITTLE SHIT”
You fell back on the bed, laughing louder
Zen shouted back, “WELL EXCUSE ME, SEXY, 42 YEAR OLD MAN”
There was silence before a harsh knock sounded at your door
All Zen’s bravado disintegrated and he made a dash for the bed, whispering loudly for you to “Turn off the fuckin’ lights, turn off the fuckin’ lights!”
You stifled more giggles rising up to your throat as you clicked off the light, making sure the room was locked, and climbed into bed
you breathed out your last laughs, sighing to yourself contentedly before noticing the close proximity you were to Zen
You stared at each other for a long moment
You leaned in closer
Zen placed a palm on your cheek, gently cupping it
he softly whispered, “Can I kiss you?”
You answered by harshly connecting your lips
The two of you feeding off each other’s oxygen as Zen bit your lip, causing you to gasp and open your mouth to make way for his tongue
you whimpered, feeling faint from lack of oxygen
the two of you parted, out of breath
Zen wanted to say something smooth like “I’ve always wanted to do that.”
but instead he said “I’ve always wanted to do you.”
He mentally smacked his head, blaming the lack of oxygen for his stupidity
But you smirked up at him coyly, replying, “Then why don’t you?”
Um yeah rip your hotel neighbor he will literally hate both of you so much
I had honestly SO MUCH FUN writing this!! Let me know if you want, like, a part two to this. I think I’d just be so fun lol

i have a genuine arcana question! I really want to play it and actually did part of it a while back, but i really felt like it was a bit of a money sink... it seemed really cool so i guess im wondering if its worth it?
i'm putting this under the cut just bc it got long!!! :D
okay so!!! i have honestly been thinking abt this a lot and, like, i will admit that i was kinda retroactively shocked by how uhhh quickly i spent like Real Money on the arcana? i think that's kinda like the kicker of having a lot of like $1/$5 options? to be fair as much as i am living in the arcana rn, it's whole play model Does seem to be based in, ah, microtransactions!
and like for a hot minute, i was quick to drop like small amounts on coins bc i do work, so i had the mantra of "well i'm getting paid in a week so-" but still i'd be careful with that!! like i've been playing for almost a month and it was really in that first week where i was like "well $1/$5... it's not that much" which like! tbh i don't wanna be like "no never spend money on a game ever" bc that'd make me. a hypocrite! and also to a degree, like, ik people talk abt microtransactions a lot in video games, but i don't think any in-game purchase at all is a bad thing, and i think it's fine to treat yourself once in a while! but also i am purposely replaying julian's route (and replaying it slowly) so that i can start racking up coins to carry over into the replay/the next arc i want to play (because you get free coins every day from the tarot daily section, and 40 coins per day by watching ads)
but also!! i think it's also good to just kinda think abt the kind of person you are when it comes to spending? like to put myself on blast, i have become Very Prone to impulse purchasing, especially when i'm in a rough patch, bc apparently retail therapy is a very real thing akjdsjksdkj so after i finished julian's route, i metaphorically sat myself down and was like "nope, no, this cannot become a habit!!! the coined options will still be there later, you can take your time and replay the game, which you want to do anyway"
but that is also bc i Know that i have... the type of personality that really latches onto stuff like that? like, little things that, on it's own, don't cost a lot of money, and it makes me feel happy, so i'm like "well, it's only X amount!" and then. yeah.
but also i have to be transparent here and say that i am also coming from a place of like. privilege, where i'm working full-time and i still live at home, so there is a degree of financial security that allows for me to have spending money. which is also why i don't want to uncritically be like "go ahead! treat yourself!" bc like, it might also be dependent on your current situation!!
and also my more harsher critique of the arcana Asides from the paywall is that like....... tbh the better scenes in the game Are behind the in-game coin paywall (and also tbh only 3 of the 6 arcs are enticing enough to me to consider grinding for coins to parry that paywall). and that tbh is def part of the business model bc, like, a lot of the free options cut off the chapters so quickly and that to me isn't worth it, like being very frank if i only chose the options that didn't use the coins, idk if i would have liked it nearly as much
so tldr (i'm sorry i ramble), the arcana has become what i have latched onto right now, and i love the story! however, i will be honest, most of that "worth" factor comes from the content behind the in-game paywall, which is then behind an actual real paywall. so if you're in a place where you have some spending money and won't blow a shit-ton of money on a game, then the choice is up to you! i don't want any of this to feel like i am Telling you what to do with your money, and at least how i see it, what helped me was essentially telling myself "you are forming a habit that will dig you into such a deep hole, just take your time, save up the in-game currency, and replay." so like!! i think the arcana as a game is very fun and i am fixating so hard on it rn, however whether it's Worth the paywall is dependent on your situation, i think
(and also just bc i'm Anxious, i would consider this less advice and more so "hey, i'm someone with an impulse spending habit and here is how i see/navigate the arcana paywall")
(edit: okay i'm rewording my take on the free arcana content, bc it's not that it's not good! closer to the end of julian's route, i started being a lot more picky with What coined options i used, and i still had a very fun time!! and tbh that gave me incentive to want to replay bc now i have new stuff to still look forward to!! it's more so that the scenes unlocked with the coined options are very fun, and i think they're a good incentive to save up for!!! :D)

THE HATING GAME BY SALLY THORNE
Page Count: 387 pages Publisher: William Morrow Release Date: August 9th, 2016 Purchase Options: Amazon, Indiebound, Barnes and Noble [ Click Here For My Full Review ]
“Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She’s charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual. Trapped in a shared office together 40 (OK, 50 or 60) hours a week, they’ve become entrenched in an addictive, ridiculous never-ending game of one-upmanship. There’s the Staring Game. The Mirror Game. The HR Game. Lucy can’t let Joshua beat her at anything—especially when a huge new promotion goes up for the taking. If Lucy wins this game, she’ll be Joshua’s boss. If she loses, she’ll resign. So why is she suddenly having steamy dreams about Joshua, and dressing for work like she’s got a hot date? After a perfectly innocent elevator ride ends with an earth-shattering kiss, Lucy starts to wonder whether she’s got Joshua Templeman all wrong. Maybe Lucy Hutton doesn’t hate Joshua Templeman. And maybe, he doesn’t hate her either. Or maybe this is just another game.”
This book is what finally pushed me into reading adult romances. Yeah, I had read a couple before this one, but this is the book that made me fall in love with the genre. I know it’s been talked about by most everyone, but if you haven’t read it yet, this summer is the perfect time (especially with the movie in the works)!
THE KISS QUOTIENT (THE KISS QUOTIENT #1) BY HELEN HOANG
Page Count: 333 pages Publisher: Berkley Release Date: June 5th, 2018 Purchase Options: Amazon, Indiebound, Barnes and Noble [ Click Here For My Full Review ]
“Stella Lane thinks math is the only thing that unites the universe. She comes up with algorithms to predict customer purchases — a job that has given her more money than she knows what to do with, and way less experience in the dating department than the average thirty-year-old. It doesn’t help that Stella has Asperger’s and French kissing reminds her of a shark getting its teeth cleaned by pilot fish. Her conclusion: she needs lots of practice — with a professional. Which is why she hires escort Michael Phan. The Vietnamese and Swedish stunner can’t afford to turn down Stella’s offer, and agrees to help her check off all the boxes on her lesson plan — from foreplay to more-than-missionary position… Before long, Stella not only learns to appreciate his kisses, but to crave all the other things he’s making her feel. Soon, their no-nonsense partnership starts making a strange kind of sense. And the pattern that emerges will convince Stella that love is the best kind of logic… ”
Firstly, if you aren’t a fan of series, don’t worry. This is just a series of companion novels, so you don’t have to commit to them. But trust me when I say, after reading this, you will want to. I just love this book so much. These characters are just absolutely amazing and you will not regret picking this up!
JOSH AND HAZEL’S GUIDE TO NOT DATING BY CHRISTINA LAUREN
Page Count: 309 pages Publisher: Gallery Books Release Date: September 4th, 2018 Purchase Options: Amazon, Indiebound, Barnes and Noble [ Click Here For My Full Review ]
“Hazel Camille Bradford knows she’s a lot to take—and frankly, most men aren’t up to the challenge. If her army of pets and thrill for the absurd don’t send them running, her lack of filter means she’ll say exactly the wrong thing in a delicate moment. Their loss. She’s a good soul in search of honest fun. Josh Im has known Hazel since college, where her zany playfulness proved completely incompatible with his mellow restraint. From the first night they met—when she gracelessly threw up on his shoes—to when she sent him an unintelligible email while in a post-surgical haze, Josh has always thought of Hazel more as a spectacle than a peer. But now, ten years later, after a cheating girlfriend has turned his life upside down, going out with Hazel is a breath of fresh air. Not that Josh and Hazel date. At least, not each other. Because setting each other up on progressively terrible double blind dates means there’s nothing between them…right?”
I have two Christina Lauren books on this list because I am addicted to their books. However, this one is by far my favorite of theirs. It’s a friends-to-lovers done so well, you won’t be able to put it down. I know I wasn’t able to.
RED, WHITE, AND ROYAL BLUE BY CASEY MCQUISTON
Page Count: 423 pages Publisher: St. Martin’s Griffin Release Date: May 14th, 2019 Purchase Options: Amazon, Indiebound, Barnes and Noble [ Click Here For My Full Review ]
“First Son Alex Claremont-Diaz is the closest thing to a prince this side of the Atlantic. With his intrepid sister and the Veep’s genius granddaughter, they’re the White House Trio, a beautiful millennial marketing strategy for his mother, President Ellen Claremont. International socialite duties do have downsides—namely, when photos of a confrontation with his longtime nemesis Prince Henry at a royal wedding leak to the tabloids and threaten American/British relations.
The plan for damage control: staging a fake friendship between the First Son and the Prince. Alex is busy enough handling his mother’s bloodthirsty opponents and his own political ambitions without an uptight royal slowing him down. But beneath Henry’s Prince Charming veneer, there’s a soft-hearted eccentric with a dry sense of humor and more than one ghost haunting him.
As President Claremont kicks off her reelection bid, Alex finds himself hurtling into a secret relationship with Henry that could derail the campaign and upend two nations. And Henry throws everything into question for Alex, an impulsive, charming guy who thought he knew everything: What is worth the sacrifice? How do you do all the good you can do? And, most importantly, how will history remember you?”
You all knew I would have to put this book on here. It’s my obsession. The love of my life. I know this book is getting a lot of hype right now, but let me tell you, it deserves all of it. This book is really something special. Not only is it an adorable romance with enemies-to-lovers and plenty of wit, but it’s also a powerful read that you don’t want to miss.
THE UNHONEYMOONERS BY CHRISTINA LAUREN
Page Count: 400 Publisher: May 14th, 2019 Release Date: Gallery Books Purchase Options: Amazon, Indiebound, Barnes and Noble [ Click Here For My Full Review ]
“Olive is always unlucky: in her career, in love, in…well, everything. Her identical twin sister Ami, on the other hand, is probably the luckiest person in the world. Her meet-cute with her fiancé is something out of a romantic comedy (gag) and she’s managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a series of Internet contests (double gag). Worst of all, she’s forcing Olive to spend the day with her sworn enemy, Ethan, who just happens to be the best man. Olive braces herself to get through 24 hours of wedding hell before she can return to her comfortable, unlucky life. But when the entire wedding party gets food poisoning from eating bad shellfish, the only people who aren’t affected are Olive and Ethan. And now there’s an all-expenses-paid honeymoon in Hawaii up for grabs. Putting their mutual hatred aside for the sake of a free vacation, Olive and Ethan head for paradise, determined to avoid each other at all costs. But when Olive runs into her future boss, the little white lie she tells him is suddenly at risk to become a whole lot bigger. She and Ethan now have to pretend to be loving newlyweds, and her luck seems worse than ever. But the weird thing is that she doesn’t mind playing pretend. In fact, she feels kind of… lucky.”
While Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating may be my favorite Christina Lauren book, this one is pretty close. Enemies-to-lovers, fake datings, and basically every other classic trope everyone loves found their way into this extremely fun read.

“Emily knew there would be strings attached when she relocated to the small town of Willow Creek, Maryland, for the summer to help her sister recover from an accident, but who could anticipate getting roped into volunteering for the local Renaissance Faire alongside her teenaged niece? Or that the irritating and inscrutable schoolteacher in charge of the volunteers would be so annoying that she finds it impossible to stop thinking about him? The faire is Simon’s family legacy and from the start he makes clear he doesn’t have time for Emily’s lighthearted approach to life, her oddball Shakespeare conspiracy theories, or her endless suggestions for new acts to shake things up. Yet on the faire grounds he becomes a different person, flirting freely with Emily when she’s in her revealing wench’s costume. But is this attraction real, or just part of the characters they’re portraying? This summer was only ever supposed to be a pit stop on the way to somewhere else for Emily, but soon she can’t seem to shake the fantasy of establishing something more with Simon, or a permanent home of her own in Willow Creek.”
Okay, I know this one won’t be published until summer is over, but I need to mention it. It’s absolutely amazing! Seriously, it’s completely worth the wait. The relationship is so perfect, the characters are all amazing, and it takes place at a Ren Faire!!! What more could you ask for?

What is your favorite summer romance? I really need some good recommendations!!

Looking Up
A pinch hit I wrote for @harutobirbi for the HQSSII! I really hope you like it, and I’m very sorry it’s late. It ended up longer and more troublesome than expected.
Pairing: Tsukishima Kei/Kageyama Tobio Word count: 6k Rating: Teen for swearing Potential Trigger Warnings: None.  Summary: There’s a mistake with the futons during a camp, and via a ridiculous series of stupid events, Kei is left sharing with Kageyama. This can only go badly. Right?
You can read it on AO3 here!  There’s an extra tidbit I wrote that didn’t quite fit on AO3 too, tumblr formatting doesn’t really work for that...
Kei feels a sense of impending doom as soon as they are led into a room full of futons, and one of the faculty gives them an apologetic look as she turns to face them. He feels it, completely, in every one of his bones, when she opens her mouth. He doesn't know why. Maybe it's just having seen those looks before, usually off his mother when she announces they're spending New Year at his aunt's place. Never fun.
"So, I do apologise, but, you see, we made a slight miscalculation on the number of futons we would need, another member of staff saw the name 'Miya' twice and assumed it was a typographical error, and so, you see..." She mumbles, fumbling around with her hands like there is an easy solution to be found there, her red face indicating that perhaps she was indeed that staff member. Kei raises an eyebrow, as do most of the room. They're all tired, and they just want to go to sleep. "Is there a possibility, at all, that perhaps, two of you could maybe share? Only for one night, and we shall do our very best to rectify this situation tomorrow, I understand this is difficult, but I don't believe there are any extras within reasonable distance, you see..."
They all stare at her, puzzled. It's not exactly the first thing they expected her to say; the sense of imminent disaster builds, although Kei will be the very last person to volunteer to share.
Getting even more flustered, she flaps her hands in embarrassment, her face a stunningly bright shade of red. "I'll confer with the rest of the staff and see if there's any other options! Please decide amongst yourselves in case there aren't, though." She nigh on runs out the room, pausing barely long enough to bow deeply, and Kei is certain she started running before she'd fully finished. Not particularly interested in mentally debating whether it counts as a respectful bow if you start running in the middle, he just glances around at the others.
"Before any o'y'all say 'nythin', I ain't sharing wi' 'Tsumu." Miya Osamu drawls, shoving his hands in his pockets. Atsumu sneers at him.
"I ain't sharin' with 'im either! He farts!"
Osamu makes an impressive kind of 'psssssh' sound. "Not as much as you." "How would’ya even know, asshole?! You're asleep!" "So are you!"
"All votes in favour of having them on opposite sides of the room?" Kei suggests, crossing his arms. Most of the others raise their arms, which – thankfully – ends the argument between the twins. Mostly. They keep grousing at each other quietly, while Kei glances around the room again.
Sakusa looks visibly ill at the very notion of sharing with anyone. Kei is with him on that one, certainly. Hoshiumi looks like an ice demon who would warm his feet on your legs, and also seems like the kind of person to jump out of bed at 5am just to announce they were awake. Chigaya looks as though he’s trying to meld into the corner of the room, playing on his phone to avoid the whole situation. Kei guesses if he had to choose someone to share with, it’d probably be him, mostly for the reason that he looks like he’d sleep right on the edge just so he wasn’t touching anyone.
Motoya looks mostly disgruntled by it, like he doesn’t really care either way and just wants it sorted. Again, Kei can relate to that. He kind of wants to pick a futon, but then again, that might volunteer him for it.
He glances at Kageyama, frowning deeply at the Miya twins. Kei genuinely can’t tell if he even understands what’s been asked of him – knowing Kageyama, he’s been in a volleyball world ever since arriving and hasn’t left yet, certainly not to contemplate sleeping arrangements. He probably just assumes someone else will do it, unable to think of group dynamics off a line-marked court. Good for him, Kei thinks a little bitterly. He should probably be one of them having to share, because it seems like it would be funny to see how Kageyama, single child of the century, would react to that. He smirks to himself as he imagines the kind of outrage that would happen, but then gets to thinking who would make the funniest reaction.
Sakusa, certainly, but Kei doesn’t think he could be paid any amount of money to get in the same bed as someone else. He seems like the kind of guy who brought his own sheets because of his distaste of sleeping on someone else’s. Kei is quietly surprised, now he thinks about it, that he didn’t bring his own futon.
The rest of them he doesn’t think would have any particularly interesting reactions. Maybe Hoshiumi, but then those two are so obsessed and single-minded, they’d probably end up not sleeping and practicing instead. That would result in an incredibly ratty Kageyama, and a sleep-deprived Kageyama means everyone gets yelled at way more. Maybe less so here, but it will happen, and if it does, Tsukishima will get most of it, since he’s the one Kageyama is most comfortable with.
He uses the word ‘comfortable’ incredibly loosely indeed.
Although, having him share with either of the Miya twins could be interesting. As soon as he thinks about it, though, it makes him frown for no reason he can really put his finger on. It’s like… Kageyama almost gets on with them, but equally, there’s a feeling Kei gets about Atsumu, and to a lesser extent Osamu, that he can’t really trust them. Atsumu’s interactions with Kageyama set him on edge, just a bit, and he generally chooses to ignore it, and certainly hasn’t examined it closely. It’s probably just a sense that they’re taking advantage of Kageyama, but why would Kei even care about that? He doesn’t care about Kageyama. He’ll admit his talent, and the fact that he’s better than he was, but even so.
He doesn’t care about Kageyama, and that’s final. He’s not even thinking about that simmering weirdness right now, or the fact that Kageyama’s been acting kinda weird for a few weeks even before this camp.
It’s probably just been the thought of the camp itself, but it’s never happened before, Kei doesn’t think. It didn’t happen in first year, so unless he’s had a run in with someone here, but then, the one who seems to be getting the brunt of the weirdness is actually himself.
But that’s a puzzle he’s left in Miyagi, or tried to, at least. It’s Kageyama’s problem, and Kei doesn’t care enough to try to work it out.
He does not care about Kageyama. He’s good at avoiding things, and that’s a thing he’ll ignore wholeheartedly. Kageyama is probably just jealous Kei got invited. Hinata was too, but he’s got the flu. Kei thought there was some saying about idiots, but maybe that’s just colds, rather than the flu. Kei heard his mother had to practically lock him in the bedroom to stop him dragging himself over here.
He probably just imagined that, in actuality, but it's an amusing image. He smirks to himself, then sobers up and mentally thanks Hinata's mother for being sensible and not getting him to spread it. Hinata can keep his damn viruses to himself.
"Psssh!"
With that noise from Osamu, he becomes aware of a growing argument in the room, and realises the Miya twins never quite stopped grousing at each other.
“- you’d probably want to sleep with someone, manwhore.” “Wha’s wrong wi’ that? Too innocent for that kinda shit, ‘Samu?” “Not in a room full of other people, ‘Tsumu. That’s just gross.” “Well, nobody said I couldn’t!” Atsumu remarks brightly, and turns, surveying the crowd. His eyes almost immediately latch onto Kageyama, and gain a gleam Kei would say that he hated the look of. If he had cared enough about the whole thing. Atsumu makes a lewd expression and saunters forward towards Kageyama. "Say, me an’ Goody-Two-Shoes here could always makes ourselves comfy... together... couldn’t we?"
And Kei would normally just let it go. Would have let it go the year before. Should have let it go. But from something about Kageyama's face that says he doesn't get it at all, to not trusting Atsumu as far as he could throw him off the court, to a hot ball of unpleasantness squirming in his guts, instinct takes over the few brain cells that don't think before they act. The remaining brain cells look on tiredly and do not stop him.
Just because he thinks Atsumu is probably joking doesn’t mean he trusts him to not be serious. Everything about it rubs him up the wrong way, and he may not care about Kageyama, but.
So he strides to stand in front of Kageyama and puts an arm in front of him, like that would really stop Atsumu. But it halts him temporarily, puzzled. He feels the rest of them staring at him, and kind of wishes he hadn’t done anything at all.
Why does he care? It's only Kageyama, but then, it's Kageyama. Kageyama who wouldn't know flirting if it kissed him square on the lips, Kageyama who's probably never had a stray thought since he found volleyball, Kageyama who is probably just about dumb enough to go along with anything if he thought it would make him better. The thought of Atsumu too close, unsupervised, to the dense-enough-to-be-a-black-hole Kageyama, makes Kei feel intensely uncomfortable. Makes him kind of want to lock Kageyama in a different room altogether.
The door opens. "I'm terribly sorry, there really aren't any other futons..." She trails off, seeing Kei where he is, and maybe she's just grasping at straws, maybe she thinks it actually looks like they're agreeing on something or whatever, an incredibly stupid chain of thoughts happens in her head and her face lights up in relief. "So you two have decided to share for the night? Thanks for volunteering, we do have a slightly bigger futon over here you can use, you know where the bathrooms are, let us know if you need anything!" She says, and dashes away, as if sensing the disagreement.
Funnily enough, the rest of them snort, then scuttle off to occupy their own beds and mark their territories, leaving Kei and Kageyama in the middle of the room, dead still. Atsumu shrugs, and winks at Kei as if he knows something, and Kei swears murder will happen before these three days are up.
Kei is just trying to process. He was looking forward to a good night’s sleep, he’d brought ear plugs in case anyone snored so he wouldn’t be too tempted to strangle them, and he’d been going to pick the very corner futon to be furthest away from everyone.
Now he’s going to be the one sharing?
He doesn’t know how much worse it could get. Now though, most of them are settling onto futons and are not going to give them up easily.
Atsumu, still looking at the two of them, laughs raucously. "If you don't wanna sleep with him, I could always swap wi' ya?" He drawls, and it seems likely to be engineered exactly to piss Kei off. Osamu snorts. "Bet you ten ramen pots they don't make the night." He pitches in, and it swiftly descends, with the others making various bets as to the transient of this arrangement. Kei hates it, but he's nothing if not stubborn and refused to let people win. Furious, he leans over to Kageyama, still in his daze.
"You'd best not piss me off." He hisses, and storms off to attempt to get to sleep as early as possible. He wanted to read. He wanted to listen to music. "Who said I was gonna piss you off! Maybe you shouldn't piss me off!" Kageyama snaps, his first words in some time. Probably in volleyball dreamland like always, his freakishly sharp mind providing video replays of all the plays he made and how he could tweak them to improve. Instead of focusing on real life. Instead of seeing the things in front of him. So much of his brain is trapped on a volleyball court, Kei swears that’s the reason he’s so utterly stupid off it. Most people would be at the same level of stupidity if only 1% of their brain travelled around with them.
"Maybe if you weren't so stupid and kept responding, it wouldn't be a problem." Kei returns acidly, and grabs his headphones.
"So you want me to ignore you, then." Kageyama spits, and for a second, Kei thinks about it. His heart kind of... droops, when he does, like that would be a bad thing. The very idea that he might care about Kageyama and the fact that he does talk to him pisses him off. His grip on his headphones tightens. "Too bad. You're in the team, so I have to get on with you! Besides I-" Kageyama halts himself dead in his tracks; Kei notices several of the others furtively - or not so furtively - watching, and turns on his heel. He doesn't want to examine Kageyama's weirdness now. He'd not found any solution before the camp, and he especially doesn't want to find one now, whatever he might find, before he has to spend 8 hours sharing a futon with him.
"Whatever. Let's just get this over with. I'm not interested in anyone making money on me." He says, casting acerbic stares at certain parties in the room. Much to his disgust, most of them don't react too much, and mostly with amusement and the occasional 'we'll see about that'. Kei decides to do what he does best and ignore it fully, lying down, tugging his headphones on and putting on his loudest music. Which isn't that loud, but it is at least continuous in its volume, leaving no chances for snippets of surrounding conversation. He hates having it too loud for fear of damaging his hearing – and knowledge of how irritating it is when everyone else can hear music from someone else's headphones – so he sets it at the exact volume required to cover up most things. If anyone shouts he'll hear it, but they don't.
It's only about half a song later when the futon shifts. Kei freezes on instinct, and glances across – it is indeed Kageyama, which just increases his discomfort. Their eyes meet, then skitter away, Kageyama gaining a constipated sort of look in the split second Kei keeps looking. He then resolutely closes his eyes, determined not to look, or make this weird, or think at all.
He has shared with his brother. It can't be any worse than that, surely. Kageyama isn’t as tall or gangly as his brother, and probably not as much into casual touches. Kei’s never seen Kageyama instigate any kind of friendly contact, at least, which is a godsend, but still. So he’s probably not going to find himself hugged to death, but equally, this whole thing is so awkward and irritating, he’s not convinced he won’t. But the thought of people handing over cash and ramen pots because he couldn’t keep his cool in such an annoying situation irritates him more. If he has to deal with their smug faces on top of a bad night’s sleep, he cannot be held responsible for whatever he does do.
It can’t be any worse than sharing with his brother.
But it is. His anxiety is such that every shift Kageyama makes is heightened, and Kei even feels his presence when he is still, an odd kind of emanating presence. The rest of them have started to settle down and someone's turned the lights off, so it just feels so close. He doesn’t want to sleep in his headphones, but the music is the only thing distracting him, so he clings to them for as long as possible.
But even in his edgy state, he’s still incredibly tired, so it doesn’t take too long for his eyes to start feel heavy, the ceiling only taking so much of him burning holes in it. Reluctantly, he pauses his music and delicately places his headphones on the rest of his stuff, then his glasses in their case, habitually softening the snap as it closes, and puts that too on top of his bag, nestled down a bit so neither of them roll off and get stepped on, hopefully. The world takes on an auditory clarity, and a visual blurriness, and Kei tries to relax.
There are blurry light patches where some of the guys are checking their phones, and some hissed whispers he doesn’t catch enough of to understand. There’s just enough light from the windows to make out some shapes. Simply the act of putting his headphones away – and having to look at his phone to pause it – has temporarily banished a modicum of his immediate sleepiness, and he once again becomes aware of his current predicament.
The futon, as the faculty member had stated, is a little bigger than the rest, but it is not big, by any means. Even as close as he can get to the edge without falling off it, their shoulders are touching. It’s a burning heat he can barely stand, mostly because it makes him think.
“Move over.” He grouches quietly, uncomfortably aware of his heartbeat. He’s not used to close proximity with people, least of all Kageyama. There’s a flick of movement, and a hmph sound.
“I’m not falling off for you.” Kageyama grouses back, and Kei recalls the bets, and bites back a returning taunt. Presumably Kageyama is as far away as he can get too, and there goes his thought that perhaps he might avoid that contact.
And he can’t help but think about it. Kageyama’s been acting weird for weeks now. Nobody else had really commented yet, but it was only a matter of time, and if Kei had noticed surely it was obvious enough. He doesn’t even watch Kageyama much, so surely someone like Hinata has picked up that Kageyama’s been acting weird.
Which is in itself weird. Kageyama is consistent to a degree that you could set your clocks to, Kei has always thought to himself. Emotionally, at least. He got the same level of irritated at the same things every time. He got the same type of ecstatic when they won, and the same type of begrudging defeat whenever they lost. He got the same type of glint in his eye when he respected a player, and the same type of anger when someone pissed him off or worse, didn’t try hard enough at volleyball.
Kageyama didn’t act different.
But now he was.
Kei hasn’t been able to put his finger on it. He just seemed quieter than usual, not really challenging Kei on the same things he always would, not rising up to the bait the same whenever Kei taunted him. There was a slight, but noticeable, lack of quality in the shots to Kei, in particular. Sometimes one of the others, but Kei hadn’t seen Kageyama fumble this much since difficult games in first year. Nowadays, settling into his skills and scouted for the National Team, he rarely fumbled like this, and his irritation with it seemed… wrong, somehow. It didn’t seem quite the same as it had – he didn’t promise to work harder, or blame some aspect of the spiker. No, he tended to glare at Kei as though his mere presence had the ability to mess things up, and turned away just as fast.
Kei’s been intrigued, to say the least.
It happened more in practice than in practice matches, although it did happen then too. Every time it happened in a match, the opposing team never really seemed to think much of it, but Kei couldn’t stop. His analytical mind had latched onto it like a difficult maths problem, and refused to let go, even as much as it irritated him. He had to work it out, partly because real matches were coming up soon and it better not affect this year’s chance at Nationals, but mostly because Kei just could not stop thinking about it, and Kageyama.
And the more he thought about Kageyama, and observed, and taunted and spoke to and worked with, the more he noticed. The way that Kageyama was actually always sending him glances. The way he was sitting closer than he ever had, but never really looking at Kei when he did so. The way that he’d shove his homework under Kei’s nose just as much as Yamaguchi’s, now. (Mostly because Yamaguchi was better at explaining maths to them, but Kei was better at English and Science. The rest, as far as Kei was concerned, wasn’t hard enough to help them with. Rote memory, Kageyama had already shown to be very proficient at, so Kei didn’t bother with those.)
So he’s found himself spending a bit more time before and after practices sitting with Kageyama going through homework concepts. Kageyama even seems to get some of them – for five minutes, anyway. Sometimes Hinata is there and other times he gets wrapped up texting Kenma and drifts off like he seems to more nowadays. It’s become a common enough occurrence, him and Kageyama in the library, watching Kageyama get more frustrated with something and him just smirking more and more because it’s funny and kind of- nice, in a weird way. The lights in the growing gloom set a halo in Kageyama’s hair, his brows furrowed and calloused hands twitching to spend fractions of a second sending a volleyball on abnormally accurate courses, rather than holding a pen.
Somehow, he never gets much work done at those sessions, even though he swears he’s working. He blames Kageyama entirely. Him and his unending stupidity.
Stupidity that’s led to this. If he’d responded normally to Miya’s taunts, Kei never would have had to step forward. If he’d even realised, none of this would have happened. Kei would be asleep in his own futon and never worrying about any of this.
“Just so you are crystal clear on this,” Kei murmurs as quietly as he can muster, turning his head to glare at Kageyama, “I’m blaming you for all this.”
He can’t really see properly, but Kageyama looks at him, and frowns. He does not, as Kei would have possibly expected, get angry. “Why.” Kageyama mutters. “I shouldn’t have to explain to you.” Kei returns, and Kageyama huffs. “Tell me.” “It was because you’re thick. You didn’t get it.” “Get what.”
Kei is kind of glad that it’s dark. He can’t believe he’s having to explain this to Kageyama. “What Miya was doing.” “Which one?” “Atsumu.” “What was he doing?”
“Flirting, you numbskull.” Kei only says it, and says it quietly, because he’s sure that the others are just far enough away to not overhear. A few of them have started snoring, anyway, and the phone lights have all gone off. “Oh.” Kageyama says, and pauses. “Oh…” He stops again. “Why is this my fault?” “Because you didn’t get it.” Kei reiterates, annoyed. “What, so you felt you had to protect me or something?”
Kei feels like his lungs stop working for a second. “No,” he wheezes, acutely aware of how unconvincing he sounds. “Of course not. Anyway, this is just ridiculous.” “Oh. Okay.” “I’m going to sleep.” Kei retorts, put off-centre. Protecting him? From what? He didn’t care if Atsumu had his wicked way with Kageyama – except he kind of did.
That is a whole ballgame he does avidly not want to think about right here, in this second, pressed up against Kageyama because there is nowhere else to go. Kageyama hums, and he sounds kind of pleased. Kei turns away, and thinks so hard about music and volleyball and dinosaurs and very literally anything other than Kageyama, it gives him a headache, then bores him to sleep eventually.
The faster he goes to sleep the faster this situation disappears.
Except of course, that it is a situation that reappears upon waking up. The first time he wakes up, it’s far too early, and he’s been awakened by motion. He barely remembers it until later, and then wishes he had properly woken up, because he could have saved himself a lot of problems. The next time he wakes up, it’s to a camera shutter sound, and he feels warm and snug. And safe.
And somewhat trapped.
Kei decides to evaluate his situation firstly, and open his eyes next.
He is laid on his back, nothing abnormal about that. His left side is warmer than it should be, and there is a pressure across his chest, and his legs, and his whole left side.
He can guess, he thinks, but he needs to know, needs to check visually.
So he opens his eyes, and looks across and finds exactly what he ought to have expected. Kageyama is, for lack of any better word, flopped on top of him, head nestled into Kei's shoulder. His face is- remarkably relaxed, for once, not grinding his teeth or scowling like normal, and Kei just.
He doesn't know what to think. He knows what he wants to do, which is to not rouse him, or pull him closer. He feels like smiling, like taking a picture, like staying there for a while, like he's maybe possibly a little bit fond.
Fondness equals alarm bells. His eyes dart upwards, and find several of the other guys looking down at him - them. A smudge that looks like it could be Motoya has got his phone out taking a photo, and Miya Atsumu is grinning like like Cheshire cat. Kei squashes his eyes shut again, to give himself space, to think about this.
There proceeds to be a suspiciously Miya Atsumu sounding murmur of 'hah, gaaaa-yyyyyy' shortly followed by a slapping sound. Kei decides Miya Osamu is probably alright, but still, he's not staying in this situation. He needs to extricate himself and get some quiet. There's a level of controlled panic in the way he shifts sideways, and hears Kageyama groan. Discontent? Kei doesn’t want to think about it. He has just enough forethought to grab his glasses in their case, and ignores some suggestive and smug sounding voices as he pushes through them, to hide out in the bathroom.
Once there, he sets the glasses case on the side, and splashes his face with cold water. It does nothing to soothe his racing heart; it does nothing at all except bring him further into wakefulness and the awful realisation he has arrived at.
He’s fond of Kageyama.
He thinks, for a moment, that his brain has just skipped the friends stage, but then, it hasn’t, really. What are study dates in the library if not between friends? What are the teasing conversations, no longer as barbed as they used to be? What is the glare he gets when he calls Kageyama king, half-hearted and softer than usual? What are the allowances he’s been giving Kageyama, the more time spent with him, the more time dedicated to matching up with him? They’ve been friends, but Kei never realised. Like he never realised how much he’s been watching Kageyama, been thinking about Kageyama, and indeed been avoiding thinking about why he’s been thinking so much about Kageyama.
Yet still, this fondness, a pooling dripping sentimentality he’s never quite fully erased from his heart. It’s similar to the way he can’t quite throw out his oldest childhood toy, a stegosaurus with some of it’s plates falling off and patched up a hundred times. He’s used to Kageyama now, and in some ways looks forward to seeing him, looks forward to his blunt stupidity, the banter they have between them. The way they’ve started syncing up on court, and working together.
Fuck, he thinks to himself, glaring at his reflection in the mirror, clear now he’s put his glasses back on. How could he have let this happen? He doesn’t know what to do with this, he’s never had this before. Maybe that’s why he never saw it coming, creeping up on his blindside and taking him unawares. How is he going to get out of this now?
The door swings open, and Kei prepares to defend himself – but it’s Kageyama, and now he doesn’t know how to react. Stunned by his newest revelation, he just kind of nods. Kageyama has gone red, and stops.
And there’s a thick silence. Kei doesn’t want to admit that he didn’t mind it, but doesn’t quite want to say that he hated it either. He needs time to work it through, get on top of his feelings.
Kei decides to leave. He grabs his glasses and makes for the door, even though Kageyama is between him and it. He expects Kageyama to move. He doesn’t.
“Are you disgusted?” Kageyama demands, looking anything but peaceful like he did in sleep.
Kei thinks about it. Yes, would be one answer. He’s disgusted with himself for not noticing, for letting it go on so long. But equally, feelings aren’t quite so easily hauled into line. He’s not disgusted with Kageyama, particularly. He doesn’t care if anyone is that way inclined, he just had never thought he was himself. With little to no precedent, how was he meant to know?
“No,” Kei murmurs, “Are you going to move?” “Are you running away from me?” Kageyama tries again, glaring defiantly up at Kei. Kei can’t quite meet his gaze. “No.” Kei says, more certain this time. He means yes, of course. He needs time to think on it, analyse the problem, and find a solution. Needs to weigh the evidence, pros and cons, and external opinions. If he can get them without alerting the parties to the fact that he’s collecting them. Can’t be seen to be too interested.
“You are.” Kageyama states, blunt as ever. Kei huffs an incredulous laugh, but Kageyama continues. “You’re not even looking at me.”
Characteristically blunt, as always. Kei glares at him. “Happy now?”
Kageyama looks surprised that he complied. Daunted, even. He swallows, a manoeuvre Kei cannot help but watch.
“Someone is going to come in, soon.” Kei mutters, eyes glued to Kageyama’s. Kageyama nods. “Are you going to move?”
Kageyama gets that face like he’s trying to solve a particularly difficult problem.
Then he reaches around the back of Kei’s head and pulls.
Caught in a moment of surprise, Kei doesn’t fight it; consequently, he smacks into Kageyama’s face with some force. There is an instant of nothing, then a flash of pain. He coils away, holding his lips and nose, trying to ascertain whether there’s bleeding or breakages.
“Holy shit, Kageyama!?” he screeches. “What was that? You trying to kill me?!” Kageyama, in the midst of howling quietly, chokes, and ends up in a coughing fit. Kei brings his fingers away from his nose, and finding no blood – and no signature trickle at the back of his throat or down his nose – whips his head around. He’ll check his teeth in a minute. “What the hell was that.” He demands, and then- observes. Kageyama is red as anything, and although he does look like he’s choking, he’s not been doing that long enough to cause that reaction. He’s got one hand over his mouth and his eyes are flitting around frenetically. His brain starts clicking over, the previous conversation and everything prior, and fits it imperfectly together into- “Was that supposed to be a sorry attempt at a kiss?”
“No!” Kageyama shouts, too fast, too high pitched. Kei narrows his eyes. “So it really was? Because that is not the way to do it.” Regardless of whether Kei actually knows the proper way to do it, he can be fairly certain that any way that involves possible permanent damage to his nasal cartilage is not it. “Like you know better!” Kageyama spits, sounding faintly panicked. “Clearly better than you, if that’s what you think is a good idea!” “Why don’t you try then!” Kageyama dares him, and Kei swears that proto-kiss knocked a few brain cells loose, because he actually considers it.
“No.” Kei remarks, and stands up, intending to check his teeth for blood, and also to hide his face from Kageyama. “Because I’m not into messing with people like that.” It’s ridiculous to get his hopes up. Kageyama has the social skills of a slug, and the finesse to match. People cling to things in their sleep, it’s a natural habit left over from being an infant, and a human need to be close to things. It’s for warmth, more importantly, and therefore likely means nothing. Kageyama probably has some weird idea in mind that for some reason involves Kei.
There’s no blood in his teeth, and none apparently forthcoming. That’s good. He’ll go and get changed and start his day and analyse this all later, or better, after the camp. He’ll package away the hurt and the confusion, and dwell on it later. He’ll only get annoyed if he does that now.
But before he can turn and leave, there are footsteps across the floor, and a hand on his arm. He barely gets a chance to raise an eyebrow and take a breath to speak when Kageyama steals it from him.
It’s much softer, thankfully, although his bruised lips still complain. It’s clear still that Kageyama doesn’t really know what he’s doing, screwing his eyes shut, but he makes a good approximation; he weaves his hand into the fine hairs at the nape of Kei’s neck and makes him shiver. Kei’s wide eyes stray to the mirrors, reflecting this scene, black and blond, fuzzy out the side of his glasses.
They’re so different. So very different. How can they be here? How can they occupy the same space, and not explode like antimatter meeting matter? Maybe that’s why they’ve always fought before, but then why is this good, and not bad? Why does it feel like a summation of their parts, rather than a negative and positive clashing and negating the other’s effect?
He could push Kageyama away, right now. He could push him and all this away, and run. It occurs to him in the same breath that he gives in, closes his eyes and puts his hand on Kageyama’s shoulder, pushes back into the kiss, because now he thinks about it, the thought that Kageyama was organised enough to mess with him seems wrong. Unlikely, somehow. Kageyama is not known for his grand schemes off the volleyball court, nor his ability to manipulate people.
And Kei can make the most of the opportunity in front of him. If this is the only time he gets to do this, he’s not going to pass it up too easily.
By the time they separate, they’re both breathing harder than usual, and Kageyama frowns at him. “I don’t mess with people.” “I’m getting that vibe, yes.” Kei murmurs. “Someone’s going to come in here soon.”
Kageyama nods, and steps back. He keeps his eyes on Kei, expectant. “But I want to do that again.” Kageyama says. “Of course, but not now.” Kei returns, thinking it’s been a surprising amount of time without interruption. It’s only when he notices Kageyama’s eyes widen that he realises. “I mean…” Ah, what the hell. “I need to think about this. Later. We have camp to survive, first.”
“Later.” Kageyama repeats, sounding pleased with himself. “Alright. I can wait.”
Kei grimaces as he hears loud footsteps and voices storming up to the door. “You were always going to have to.” He remarks, but, quietly, to himself, he can reflect that he’s kind of looking forward to it.
But he can enjoy teasing Kageyama by making him wait.
Where’s the fun in making it easy? Plus, he has no interest in giving any of the others any smug pleasure. In addition, he’s going to be a rich man if they all cough up their debts to him. He might even see to sharing a few ramen pots with Kageyama.
If he’s lucky. If he hasn’t actually knocked any teeth loose.
Well, there’s room for improvement, and time for it, too. Things are looking up.

Dating Jason Todd h/c
How you met?
You were on your apartment building’s rooftop, trying to collect your thoughts and wind down after going through a tough 3 months topped with your boyfriend arriving with the news that he’s going to break up with you.
You were so wrapped up in your own thoughts (and tears) you didn’t even notice a dark 6’2 figure lurking around your rooftop. He was conflicted on whether to approach you or to leave you alone.
“You alright dude? You look like you went through the war and found out your husband got killed in the line of duty” he managed to say. 3 months later he told you he wanted to slap himself in the face for saying that.
That line made you cry even more. Fuck, you don’t even care if he’s going to murder you, at least I don’t have to pay tax and my student loans anymore.
“Fuck I’m sorry.” He said as he approached you from the back and sat down next to you. “Want to talk? You can call me Jason.”
And that’s how you 2 lovebirds started off
First date
It was a full day out around New York. Jason arrived at the front step of your apartment building on his bike, dressed in his signature leather jacket and wearing a grey shirt with jeans. The most well dressed he’s been besides going undercover. He picked you up impromptu from your apartment as you were walking down the stairs and basically said, “Come on, we’re going to New York for the day. I’ll treat.”
You ate pizzas, ate amazing food from hole-in-the-wall restaurants that Jason had recommended (insisted actually) you tried. You didn’t regret it. Initially you thought he was being cheap but the food. The food in these restaurants tastes on a whole new level, much better than the microwave shit that you buy from the convenience store.
In the evening, you and Jason hung out on the rooftop (naturally) of a high rise building that overlooks the entirety of Manhattan. The view was magical.
“Thank you for today Jason. Best day I’ve had in a while” you said, as you glanced at him.
“You’re welcome Y/N. But you know, wanna treat me something in return?” He said jokingly.
“Yea sure. I’ll treat you to this ice cream place a few blocks from my apartment. It tastes amazing” you said, knowing full well what Jason actually meant.
First kiss
Jason tried to hide a disappointed look on his face but the keyword was tried. That boy looked devastated. I’ll end up as a rebound anyway. She probably doesn’t like me.
You laughed, “Jason I’m kidding”. As you leaned in a kissed him on the cheek. “Thank you for today. Really.” His cheeks turned red.
“I like you Y/n” he blurted out, followed by a murmured “fuck”.
“Jason I like you too”
And you guys proceeded to have the kids of your life. *record scratches* Just kidding, it played out a little more awkwardly.
You both looked at each other longingly. Jason broke the silence, “so uh, do we kiss now?”
You can’t help but laugh at him,” Yes I think we do”
And then you both actually kiss.
“I love you”
You always see these movie cliches when the characters pour their hearts out to each other as they say their last words when facing a life threatening situation. And then proceeding to survive the event. You always thought it was too dramatised. Real life events wouldn’t play out like this.
Well, dating a vigilante would up the probability of this happening by maybe 1000 times.
One night, as you reached home from your new job, you found Jason bleeding out beside your couch.
“Sup” he said to you.
“Oh my gosh Jason fuck” You rushed to find your first aid kit. You started to panic and cry.
“Y/n” Jason said with a trembling voice. “I need... I need”. He muttered, as he shifts his gaze towards his legs.
Your eyes shift down as you quickly realised that he was fine. He was signing👌🏽the entire time. You punched him in the arm. A wave of anger washed over you as hot tears streamed down your face.
“Ow I thought I was supposed to hit you.” Jason muttered.
“Jason fuck you. I thought I was losing you, you were bleeding out on the floor and I couldn’t... you asshole! “ you cried-mumbled as tears (and mucus) streamed down your face. “I... I love you Jason fuck. Don’t do this to me”
Jason face dropped. “Fuck y/n I didn’t mean... I didn’t mean to. I love you too.” You punched him again. “Ow! I mean I’m still bleeding out here. I just.. im sorry.”
You proceeded to bandage him as both of you bathed in silence.
“Don’t ever, EVER do that again or I will murder your ass” you said.
Jason hugged you, relieved you’ve sorta forgiven him, “I won’t ever, I’m so so sorry babe. I love you.”
(Inspired by 11thsense)
Daily living
1 years into the rs, both of you got a new house and paid all your loans off with the money you earned from your new job (and the money Jason took from the criminals). The daily life of living with Jason Todd has its quirks.
-working out
When you workout, Jason sometimes would join you. It was his “recovery” day, he would say as you gasped for whatever oxygen your lungs could get from the atmosphere. Bastard.
- date nights/days
Vigilante work meant less date nights, more date days so as to speak. He’s really sweet and sensitive really, but as you get to know him, this guy loves to fool around like there’s no end. In the house, at the movies, he’s always down to do crazy things with you. And you’re not complaining either, it’s like playing around with a grizzly bear that 225 pounds.. fun times
-coming back home injured
After the first time he came back home injured (and we both know how that turnt out), you’ve gotten used to it. There a rare nights were he’s really banged up and on the verge of dying, where you would drive him to the bat cave to get him stitched up by Alfred. But normally, bandages and stitches did the trick. Bullet wounds, stab wounds, huge cuts... you’re used to it by now. Jason’s a pretty fast healer too, since he’s bathed in the Lazarus Pit. So things like stab wounds aren’t a big thing in the Todd household.

Wrote this late at night. My eyes are threatening me and I can hear colours. So pardon me for any mistakes. Also do you guys want any requests/ships? Do let me know!

WOW, have things gotten wild over the past week! I’m currently in self-imposed quarantine, as is almost everyone I know. Several close friends have fallen ill. It’s scary out there right now. I sincerely hope that all of you readers this are safe and healthy. And that you’re washing your hands, avoiding contact with other people….and not terribly bored if you’re working (or not working) at home. Sounds like a good time to support and read some indie comics, if you ask me.
A cheap shot? Maybe.
But, hey. In the midst of all this COVID-19 madness, I’m…uh…still trying to fund this book I wrote. I’ve got a few days left before the Kickstarter to fund Tracy Queen, V2: Dangerous Experiments ends on Friday, March 20. And, well, that’s looking just about as bleak as the outside world right about now. I’ve worked very hard on the book itself, and on the Kickstarter campaign to fund it. And yet, there’s more than 50% left to raise in just over three days.
Yeah. I’m scared.
Not just because I have a compromised immune system due to medication I take for my autoimmune condition. (Although I am scared as heck about that, not gonna lie.) But also about my future as a writer. I rely on Kickstarter as a means to market, print, and distribute the comics I write, as well as books by other creators that I publish. So far, I’ve never had one fail. But with COVID-19 on the loose, interest in funding my work seems to have taken a precipitous dive. I’m not mad, because everyone is terrified. And it would be selfish and silly to be mad that folks are a little preoccuppied.
But I am scared.
Because, you know all those people who are losing income and afraid about whether they can make rent in the midst of all this fear and uncertainty? They’re me. And the future of my business as a comics writer and independent publisher may rely on this Kickstarter. If this campaign doesn’t get fully funded, we don’t get ANY of the money people have pledged. And then we may have to give up on, or at least severely alter, the future of my company—Oneshi Press. The proceeds from this campaign were meant to fund printing of this book and also help us stay afloat for the next few months, pay some of the artists who are creating work for our projects, and pay some bills. If we don’t make it, well…
I’m an indie creator, and my business helps support other indie creators.
So, hey. If you’re looking for ways to support folks whose livelihoods are on the line right now? Folks who work for themselves, have no paid time off, no sick leave, and usually really crappy health insurance? Look no further.
Hey. I know things are massively uncertain right now. I know people are losing income left and right, the stock market is taking a nosedive, and not every government is exactly stepping up to help people get through. *cough cough USA* I know shit’s scary.
But I’m literally trying to sell some comics. For cheap. For you to read while you’re in quarantine.
Folks. For $10, we’ll give you FOUR full-length digital comic books absolutely stuffed with art. That art took multiple artists thousands of hours and lots of money to produce.
For $25, we’ll give you all that and a printed comic book, too. The pot sweetens with every increase in pledge level after that. We’ve added new rewards of hand-drawn, gorgeous art, awesome stickers, and so much more. No matter what level you back at, I promise you: You’ll get more than your money’s worth, and you’ll likely get most of it while you’re still in quarantine.
Because those comics? They’re ready to go.
We’ll have digital rewards out within two weeks of the Kickstarter, if we get fully funded. That means, just when quarantine cabin fever is beginning to truly set in…BAM! Digital comics! And a few weeks after that (assuming our printer is operational) BLAMMO! Printed comics and art!
So, even if you’re not into supporting artists. If you’re just looking for something to do to keep yourself busy while you’re at home, bored and/or scared and/or desperate to stay entertained? Look no further. Our books will entertain you and get your brain going and let you immerse yourself in a world that’s not our messed-up situation in this world.
Help me give people comics!
If you’ve got a few bucks to spare and you want some comics, please pledge. If you don’t have anything to spare but you want to help, you can share the link. Or any of the following links, which provide interesting listening, fun-as-heck viewing, fascinating reads, and links back to my Kickstarter:

Hyung Suk for Esquire and interview
Hyung Suk hits once again with his sexiness for Esquire magazine and he also gives an interesting and hot interview which lets his fans speechless.
Can this guy be more sexy than that?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
INTERVIEW:
This is not the first time you come to Esquire department . What is your impression of this magazine? A: I am full of surprise and gratitude. I am thankful that so many fans came to welcome me. This is a part of my best memory! Q: Any fashion style that you don’t like? A: I like styles that are more natural, and dislike overdressing or having too many focus points. Q: Do you have any favourite catchphrase? Or what is the most frequent way of describing you by others? A: I like others calling me “Actor and model Hyung Suk”. I hope everyone can see how passionate I am about acting and modeling and the efforts being put into it. I also hope I am a multi-faceted actor who can breath a new life into the roles I act in. Q: In an interview, you said “because the character is imaginary in WT, I consider it my responsibility to demonstrate a sense of difference.” In order to demonstrate this sense of difference, I think you have worked hard in ways we cannot see. A: Compared to me, the CG team worked really hard. It is not something I can accomplish with my own effort. CG team really did a good job. Also I think the music director did half of the drama. The BGM is really effective when we watch the drama. It was not like the other dramas with just the music in the background, the use of light music and suitable sound effects gives life to the series. Q: When you choose your work, how much influence is there for the character’s weight or the character’s charm? A: I pay a lot of attention to the character’s charm. However, it is a bit different for WT. At first, I am happy that I did not to have a heavy weight in the series, it was really fun, the character was strong. And then later, the weight of my character became a lot heavier. (Laugh). Even when the lines are long, when I can exchange conversations with the other party, I can deduce the next sentence and continue to talk, but having to talk continuously on my own is difficult. Scriptwriter and director was thorough from the start, so the same scene was done a few times, there were times when my throat was painful. Q: So what is the motivation for Hyung Suk to work hard? A: Firstly, I have taken a rest for a year last year, so I have a sense of gulit. Golden age of 20s, pretty with overflowing passions and burning day after day, I should have left at least one more piece of work. Because I have taken a rest in 2015, I need to fill this year up even if I need to force myself to. I said I would do 4 pieces of work this year, but I am a bit exhausted so I will do 3 pieces of work Q: When you are tired, what are the little joys of life? A: When I work non stop for 2 weeks, and then I get to sleep at home for a whole day? There was only once when I feel really happy. The year before the last? The time with fan meeting here (in Korea), I had quite a few fan meetings, but that time at that moment, I felt really happy from the bottom of my heart. I often got the happiness and thankfulness because I receive a lot of love, but truly that moment was the happiest time. Q: I read in an interview that when you monitor (your own acting), you watch the scenes you don’t like for 300 times. Are there scenes that made you kick your blankets (in shame) even up till now? A: Many. Even for the scenes that are okay for other people, I found some of them unpleasant. When I have been staying up for the whole night filming, I am troubled by all sorts of different things. Recently I was troubled about my voice. How many decibel and what tone should my voice be like? Every time I deliver the lines, my voice sounds different, this is difficult and hard even after a few years. I am thankful for Jeong Mi who usually stays up all night with me practicing and offering me help. Q: People said you are too frank about your own shortcomings and excessively humble. You said in an interview that was because you have the confidence to correct that shortcoming, and that left a deep impression in me. Is there any shortcoming you wish to correct through WT this time? A: My pronunciation is not good and so I paid a lot of attention this time. I wish I can tolerate and persevere and accept it all. I have a “glass” mentality, so I am swayed easily. Q: Are you searching for the context of the life for the present Lee Hyung Suk? A: The springtime of life is gloomy, tomorrow is insecure, and today turbulent times are also experienced sometimes. Everyone is working hard to try to survive in the battlefield, right? I also save by installments and prepare for my old age. I feel troubled every day trying to find the context of my life. Q. How did you feel during kisses with Jeong Mi for the series? We already kissed twice and it's like a fairytale, It's so unrealistic. I liked it, we were both shy you could see from the distance but everything went well, I think we both let ourselves go into each other hearts. Q. How do you feel about Jeong Mi’s character in the series? Oh Yeon-Seo character is a perfect fit for Jeong Mi," She immersed herself into her character completely and never loses her smile despite the busy filming schedules. Q. Will there be more romantic scenes? Of course, expect the best. Q. What are your views on marriage? Honestly, I felt empty-hearted since last year and I thought that it would be nice to get married soon. When I saw my co-star who playes Im So Hee and [her husband] together, they looked very happy. When we were filming, he would video call her and as I watched that, I thought about [getting married]. Q. Would you tell your fans if you would date? If I date in the future, I will probably be open and public about my relationship. Q. How do you get along with the series co-starts? We get along super fine, I found my new best friend in Oh Do Yoon. Q. You appeared together with Jeong Mi on 2 fashion presentations people speculate that you two went there because you are a couple? People will always speculate but we went there as friends. Q: Finally, we have to ask Hyung Suk, is there anyone who resembles your ideal type ? Why? A: I like Jeong Mi and I’m very happy to work with her I find her the closest to my ideal type. It always seems as though men prefer colder women. I don't know why that is. I prefer smart women who I can learn from and help me improve. Intelligence is more attractive than appearance. Q. Does that mean that fans can still hope for you two to be together? We will live and see. ( laughing)
..................................................................................................................
After all this interview fans are asking whether him and Jeong Mi are in a relationship or not, fans have their fingers crossed, let’s hope for the best.
What do you guys think? ;)
