it’s funny to see speculation over what the Doctor’s politics are (and I’m saying this as someone who has only binge watched nuwho, so I admit I’m not the most well versed about the character), but trying to box in the Doctor into believing in, or being a vessel for any one (or even two) political ideologies is useless and reductive and impossible.

Also can anyone seriously see the Doctor identifying with any political belief system? That alien’s a walking contradiction, never going to be that consistent about anything and probably thinks themselves way above subscribing to any human political philosophy

if you're bilingual/multilingual i really suggest doing translation as a hobby. nothing serious, just getting your favourite songs or poems or book passages in one language and trying to translate them into another one. it can be really relaxing, it has the same effect as doing a sudoku or crossword puzzle. it's just the right amount of challenging and soothing and also stretches your understanding of each language and may even reveal things about the meaning of the text you're translating! so if you wanna do something creative but feel kind of unmotivated, some light translating is a good way to go 👍

I’ve done a lot of edits to my pinned post over time, but worth noting I added my reference list there, since I’m using it as a running list of sources.

Also added a bit about being happy to answer questions/clarify the context behind things I’ve written and give technical/historical advice. I’m not encyclopedic about trains but can probably point you in the right direction and I’m a manufacturing engineer irl so I have a decent conceptual knowledge of a lot of mechanical things/heavy machinery. I’m weird very familiar with converting/retrofitting heavy machinery and the economics of it, which is something I know this fandom LOVES. Ironically I’m pretty terrible with electrical stuff, I barely passed the basic circuits class I took in college.

(if you ever want writing advice on literally anything amusement ride/park related though, dear god that I’m hardcore into and have been for over a decade.)
