Well, we went on an hour and a half adventure to get a free kitten today.

We made it to the home, and the poor thing was covered in fleas, and just in need of a lot of care. So, headed back home, we picked up Dawn dish soap, food, and treatment, and the little guy is getting a few good washes, food in his belly, and a proper home with vet care in the next few days. He just needs to stay quarantined from our other pets until he checks out clean and healthy.

The little dude's name is Supercat, and I love hearing him purr, and feeling safe ☺️

What are your favorite shows in terms of whump and hurt/comfort, if you don't mind me asking?

So I have like the object permanence of a sieve thanks to my unmedicated ADHD, so I don't necessarily...really remember? *hides*

I do know that I don't have any favourite shows in terms of hurt/comfort except for one, because all the best hurt/comfort is in fanfiction (which makes sense, it's a fanfic genre). However, I do think March Comes in Like a Lion delivers pretty big-time on the hurt/comfort front overall, which has multiple instances of caring for the main character while he's sick (often because he's so depressed he stops taking care of himself, and then gets too dehydrated or starved to actively starting looking after himself again), and also a really huge arc of caring for and comforting another character through intense school bullying across a whole season.

I honestly can't think of much western media that I've loved which also has a decent proportion of hurt/comfort. There's like, always shows that have moments? But I don't really count those. Moments are usually what leads to those of us who love hurt/comfort to go and write fanfic in the first place. We're never getting enough of it, lol. :D

At the company retreat, one extremely drunk girl asked what my pronouns were. (Eventually, it took her a while to word the question.) After the whole conversation was done, she goes- "YEAHHH GURL, Get on with--with THY bad self! See what I did?? They/them/thy."

I was almost holding back tears from trying not to laugh as I told her yes that's great you nailed it honey. Thank you very much I am feeling the love.

i went to a tiny counterserve diner once and accidentally poured sugar instead of salt all over my hashbrowns and was eating them sadly anyways. the waitress took them away and started making me another one and I tried to protest, but she just snorted and said "we're not catholic here". now every time i'm doing something painful out of obligation i think about how that is not repenting, this body is not a catholic establishment, there is no nobility in suffering.
