🧡 - that’s actually a tough question, because samara has a complicated relationship with both. she grew up lonely in a quiet house with a workaholic, neglectful father who was never home, a kind mother who doted on him but was often working as well, and a little brother that was just too young to really play with. samara naturally spent most of their childhood alone, reading or playing instruments. samara does love their mom and brother, but they still remained lonely as a child. they weren’t truly not lonely until their hogwarts years, when they actually made friends who wanted to spend time with them. and eventually, samara began to see these friends (some of whom, like salem and thalia, she is actually biologically related to) as their family. so while samara does care about their mom and brother, she does put just the slightest more emphasis on his friends.

🐈 - oh absolutely a small circle of friends. samara does get along with plenty of people, but they only really consider rowan, salem, badeea, talbott and a handful of others as their true friends.

🤔 - oh boy this is a loaded question so buckle up ! starting with samara’s specifically autistic mannerisms, they do have a small number of tics. samara tends to clap or hit their hands together a lot, she taps quills nonstop, picks at his lips, flaps their hands when excited, moves their hands a lot overall, rocks back and forth, has blinking fits, clears their throat a lot and often rolls their eyes. outside of tics, samara has a number of little quirks, for example-

- samara has two favorite mugs that they bring everywhere. they will pretty much refuse to drink anything unless it’s in one of these two mugs.

- samara can’t fall asleep unless they’re holding onto a pillow or stuffed animal.

- samara likes to tug at her sweaters a lot. he picked up knitting as a way to repair the often unraveled sweaters.

- samara can never just put their hair up and call it a day. they usually spend a good five or ten minutes before settling on the same two or three hairstyles.

- samara absentmindedly plays with his hair a lot. like seriously, a lot. they also regularly fix their clothes or brush at their hair without realizing

- when concentrating especially hard, they frown

- when especially bored, they’ll doodle little symbols on their arm

- like a lot of autistics, samara can’t really keep eye contact easily. they usually glance a lot around rooms- it’s hard to keep their eyes in one place

- samara can tend to use different synonyms in place of commonly used ones. for example- albeit instead of although, asinine instead of dumb, ghastly instead of horrible/awful, superb instead of good, etc. most of this is simply because samara read so much as a child that their vocabulary is naturally advanced. she also just uses more advanced vocabulary in general.

- samara’s bed has to be arranged in a certain way before they can fall asleep. pillows have to be laid in a specific manner, no more than two blankets, etc.

Delores was quite a bit larger than her step sisters, and was growing a more pronounced comb and longer tail feathers than the typical hen. However, denial is a powerful characteristic, and I tried to convince myself that Delores really WAS a hen and maybe she was just big boned.
