Chapter 4: -
Chapter 5: -
Chapter 6: -
Summary: After your Lokis death and have moved on and joined the Avengers. After the aftermath of Endgame you and the other remaining Avengers all seek shelter in the new Avengers Warehouse Pepper Potts bought as a temporary replacement while the Avengers mansion is being renovated. What happened after a very tired mission. Well, you're speechless, to say the least.
---------------------------------------------------
You entered the living room with the rest of the team all covered in dust, scratches and tired faces. All of you just saved another casual disaster but the aftermath was the annoying part, burning buildings, hurt people, without Tony stark it meant the clean up crew for the Avengers were the Avengers.
"Alright, what movie and what restaurant shall we engage in tonight." You say as you use your magic to teleport your sword to your room and grab the telephone on the coffee table, plopping on the couch.
"I don't know, but I am in the mood for some Mexican food," Sam said walking in and taking off his goggles.
"Yeah no we just had Mexican yesterday Sam there is no way I am eating another burrito, enchiladas, or taco for the 5th time this week." Bucky shouted as he stretched out on the loveseat next to the couch.
Scott, Thor, Wanda, Peter, Kate and Yelena walked in as they made their way to the kitchen and the living room to relax after a long day.
"Well I for one could actually go for some Phò." Wanda said while grabbing a glass of water. "Yes that actually sounds nice," you replied.
"Second it." Bucky Raised his hand and passed out on the loveseat.
"I will fiest on any of your choosing," Thor said while taking off his cape to wipe off the gunk from storm breaker.
"Phò sounds wonderful. Just make sure I get one of those spring roles. Oh and don't forget were running out of chilli sauce." Yelena shouted from the fridge.
"I just restocked." Scott threw his arms and groaned. "hah." Yelena mocked.
Peter took off his mask and rubbed his forehead combing his hair back, he had the worst migraine ever. Was this a spider sense? Why is it worse than ever?
You shouted for his attention, "Peter man of the hour, Mexican or Phò." Peter didn't answer, he was trying to hold himself on the table trying to compile himself.
"Peter?" You looked towards him. You started to get worried and walked towards him. "Peter. Did you hear me, Phò or Mexican?"
Peter looked at you and fell on his butt.
"Look kid we all are tired but at least try to make it to the couch I ain't carrying you." Same teased.
"Peter are you alright," Wanda said with a concerned face rushing towards him.
"Just tired... crazy migraine, feels like a spider sense but not ...it's the worst I've had." Peter looked at the concerned faces towards him, while he found support from your hand "Probably just tired." he chuckled.
"Well Phò it is, maybe next time Sam." You shook the phone and gave it to Scott to take the orders because he knew the team lie the back of his hand.
"Peter do you require help to get on the couch." You brought Peter back up as he tried to make his way onto the kitchen island.
"I'm fine just need water and a good meal. Imma lay by here." He groaned and slipped onto the table face on the surface.
You went to the sink to pour him a glass of water. Placed it on the counter making sure he drank every drop.
You grabbed a popcorn pack from a top shelf and brought it to the microwave as you set the time. You looked back at Peter who was getting a second refill.
You crossed your arms as you leaned back on the wall waiting for the timer on the microwave to go off. You closed you eyes resting your head as you looked up the ceiling.
"Teya what movie...Not silence of the lambs"
"Action or Comedy, Sam I don't mind..." You sighed not opening your eyes taking some shut eye before the alarm in the warehouse blares for the next emergency.
"Cassie said Gnomeo and Juliet was nice," Scott said looking through his phone.
"Bucky is scared of the Frog." You chuckled.
"In my Defense doll I only said it to make my move on you." he smirked kissing your cheek.
"Now thats a new level of low and pathetic." Sam groaned in disgust. You try reach for an aspirin on the top shelf but Bucky beat you to it.
"Here." he passed the bottle to you.
"I lift cars, I think can lift a shelf handle." you retorted to him
"We talked about this doll," he places both his arms on your shoulder.
"Right..." you breathed and dialouged dramatically " Why thank you, James, you're such a gentleman." flipping your hair.
"OH I call dibs on Robocop" Yelena raised her hand after laying out all the snacks.
"I'm letting the kid's pop culture spinner decide." Sam takes the remote from Scott and faces back to Peter. "Yo Pete what movie."
"Babylon," Peter replied from the kitchen island still rubbing his temple.
"As long as it's not Hamilton." You teased.
"Sams got it all memorized by now." Bucky continued.
"Not as much as you Buck, I heard him belting burn last night," Sam replied. The microwave beeped as you turned your back from the crowd and you grabbed a bowl to place the pack in.
"Heh well, you can say he's gonna be your right-hand man." you giggled at your cringe joke. "Get it." but no response was made, just silence from the crowd.
"Oh cmon that was fun-" you turn to see the reason of their response and froze "Ny......"
"Avengers I need your help."

Sidelines: More Than a Headache
Thanks for the request @laurellaa
It’s time to get up. You know it’s time to get up but your head is pounding. You’re supposed to do this charity thing with Steve later but god you feel like shit. Steve is still asleep next to you, your alarm buzzing softly as he snores. He’d had a late flight home last night after a late game, you were happy to see him still asleep though. You sit up slowly and your vision swims. You don’t know how long you sit there, long enough for Steve to wake up.
“Mornin’ Sweetheart.” Steve says softly and you can’t help the groan that falls past your lips. Despite being together for almost three years now you don’t think he’s ever seen an actual migraine from you before.
“Morning.” You murmur back and he laughs gently before getting out of bed. Goose follows Steve as you sit on the side of the bed and focus on not throwing up.
“I’ll get the coffee going.”
“No.” You whimper and he laughs again heading out of your room. It takes every ounce of your self control not to lay back down,
“Go get her Goose.” You hear Steve say and your dog comes bounding back into the room but she halts before she collides with you. Instead she seems to know that something is off and stares at you while wagging her tail lowly.
“Hi Goose. Good girl.” You whisper and she wags her tail.
“Sweetheart? Coffee?” Steve calls and you wince, you attempt to stand up and make your way to the bathroom but you feel so dizzy that you immediately sink back down. Goose whines then heads back out of the room and you stand again gripping the nightstand. You move slowly toward the wall, vision swimming when Steve comes into the doorway. “Sweetheart?”
“Shh.” You breathe you focus on walking but sway with every step and when you’re halfway to the bathroom you stumble. Steve’s arms are around you faster than you can right yourself.
“Sweetheart?” He whispers and you hum softly. “What’s wrong?”
“Migraine.” You whisper and he scoops you up off of your feet then carries you back to bed. Steve does his best not to jostle you as he sets you down on the bed,
“What can I do?”
“Ice pack, water, pain killers.” You whisper and he kisses the palm of your hand before leaving the room. You close your eyes and wait for him to come back, he’s so quiet that you don’t hear him enter the room. He puts the ice pack in your hand and you put it on the base of your head, then the painkillers are set in your hand and a straw brought to your lips.
“I’m so sorry.” You whisper, tears pricking your eyes.
“What for?” He whispers back crouching down to be level with you.
“Charity event tonight.”
“Sweetheart, it doesn’t matter. If you’re sick you’re my priority okay? Don’t worry about it. Thor is going, I think he’s gonna try and convince Moxie to be his date, Bucky and Sarah will be there. It’s nothing. What can I do?”
“Just, stay with me?”
“Okay. Let me let Goose out and run her a bit then I’ll be back okay?”
“Okay.” You hear him leave the room, his feet are soft but the floor creaks under him and Goose’s toenails click. The alarm chimes with the open door then you close your eyes.
You can hear them playing in the backyard, Goose’s sharp barks make you wince but there’s not much you can do about it. She’s just so excited to be playing with Steve so early in the morning.
You’re glad he’s not upset about missing the charity event. You don’t know what excuse he gave everyone else but if they find out it’s because of you that he didn’t show up you’re going to catch so much shit from his fans. Especially ones that have paid to meet him at this charity event, oh god they’re going to be so mad if they find out you’re the reason why.
When Steve comes back into the house the door chimes again, he creeps into your room and you hear him removing clothing, then he slides into bed with you. Even though he’s careful not to jostle the bed too much you still wince from the movement.
“I’m sorry Sweetheart.” He whispers moving flush against your back, one of his arms curls around your waist and you intertwine your fingers with his before falling asleep. When you wake up again your headache is mostly gone. It’s more a lingering ache than a pounding throbbing, and you want him to go to the event. Even if he is a little late and goes alone.
“I want you to go to the event.”
“What?”
“I want you to go. I’ll be fine here.”
“Cat you couldn’t even walk earlier.” He argues softly, still matching your volume.
“If I can show you I can get around will you go?”
“Why do you want me to leave you so badly? I thought I did a good job staying quiet.”
“I don’t want your fans to hate me. I get so much shit from them already, it’s just a headache. Honestly I could go.”
“I think that’s a bad idea.”
“I won’t be blamed for this.” You argue sitting up and swinging your feet over the side of the bed, “besides, if I take some more painkillers I can come.”
“Sweetheart you’re being ridiculous.”
“No, I’m not.” You’re a little unsteady on your legs and Steve is out of bed after you in an instant. “I’m fine. We need to hurry or we’re going to be late.” You tell him moving to the bathroom. You grab a shower cap and turn the shower on but before you can peel off your pajama shirt and get in Steve has you pinned between him and the sink.
“What’s goin’ on Sweetheart?”
“I don’t want your fans to hate me.”
“They don’t.”
“Peggy made sure that I know that plenty of them do.”
“She’s still giving you shit?”
“Are you really surprised?” You ask with a sigh and he frowns.
“You don’t even work together anymore.”
“She sends me stuff online, I’ve blocked her on social media but she sends me emails at work. I block one email account and she makes a new one.”
“How do you know it’s her?”
“She usually makes some sort of snide comment about how you were better with her or some shit like that.”
“Let’s get a restraining order.”
“I can’t. She hasn’t threatened me.”
“Sweetheart, you’re a public figure. The rules are a little different.”
“Yea, I think that’d be nice.” You admit and he kisses you softly, “but we’re still going to this charity event.”
“Cat.”
“I will go alone.” You warn him and Steve sighs,
“Okay we can go on one condition.”
“What?”
“When I say it’s time to go we go. No arguments.” You know that you’re not going to be changing his mind on this one so you sigh and nod.
You shower together quickly then head to the charity event. Steve isn’t pleased about it, but you’re going to be fine.
“Hey! What are you doing here?” Moxie asks when you sit down at the table next to her. She looks stunning in a cream colored ball gown with flowers embroidered all over the fitted bodice.
“You look beautiful.”
“Astrid picked,”
“Yea, like a princess.” You tell her and Moxie rolls her eyes at you.
“I repeat, what are you doing here?”
“It was just a headache, Steve got over protective I’m totally fine.”
“A migraine isn’t nothing.” She counters and when you go to reach for your wine she plucks it from your hand. “That is a bad idea.” She swaps your drink for water.
“Great, now people are going to think I’m pregnant.” You mumble and she raises her eyebrows at you.
“You’re not right?”
“No! We’re not planning on kids until he’s almost done playing football.”
“And there’s no way?”
“No Moxie.” She eyes you hesitantly but you’re positive you’re not pregnant, you just got done with your period. “But now, if anyone saw that, they’re going to assume I am.”
“Sorry, just one glass then? You need to stay hydrated or that migraine will be back with a vengeance tomorrow.”
“I told Steve about Peggy.”
“Good. How did he take it?”
“I think he’s unhappy that I took so long to tell him but he’s going to look into a restraining order.”
“Good!” Moxie has always been one of your best friends and it’s so nice to have her here with you. “You look great.” You glance down at the pale blue dress, with an off the shoulder top and several layers of tulle. You love how it fits and how you feel in it. You see Thor and Steve at the bar chatting and when they look over at you and Moxie you give Steve an amused look, he grins back at you.
“Thank you. I think our boys are up to something.” Moxie follows your gaze and sighs.
“Oh they’re absolutely up to something. Sif found out about me.”
“What! What happened?”
“It’s a long story, she’s not thrilled is the short story.”
“Of course not. I think she always thought that she’d have her claws in him. We should have a girls night soon.”
“Please, I have so much to tell you.” Steve and Thor join you then and Steve takes you to your table.
It’s a pleasant night. The people that have won the bids to sit at your table are nice. They’re friendly and you enjoy the night with them, you’re glad that you came because you would’ve felt horrible with them paying so much money to meet Steve.
You get home and your headache is starting to rear it’s ugly head again, Steve brings you back to the master bath and starts the bath.
“You are going to get in this bath, I’m going to feed and let out Goose then I’m going to come and join you.”
“I love you.” You tell him and Steve laughs,
“I love you too. Now, I want this place to smell like a lavender field when I get back. Deal?”
“Yes bossy.” You sass him and he laughs before pulling you gently toward him with a hand around the back of your neck.
“Don’t think I didn’t notice that your head is hurting you again. I’ll be back soon.” He kisses you softly then slips out of the bathroom.
God you love him.

#thorki#i stole the last one from wizards of waverly place#which i guess could make this a#incorrect brodinsons#really though i bet loki 100% pulled shit like this#and years and years later#when thor realizes he returns loki's feelings and things come to light however they do#loki will fess up and thor will be like I KNEW YOU WERE DOING IT ON PURPOSE YOU LTITLE SHIT#and loki would be like you always courted the most insufferable boring maidens i brought you excitement and conflict#and thor is like you brought me migraines is what you brought me#and they have a good brotherly chuckle (and then they fuck)#lmao (tags via me)
Someone liked this post and it popped up in my notifications, and so I'm reblogging it bc it's hilarious.
One of my pre-canon Thorki headcanons is that Loki's always harbored feelings for Thor but, of course, intended on taking that secret to the grave ... but, that didn't mean he was willing to sit around and watch as Thor "courted" various women.
So he played up the little brother card in a major way, making it a point to get between Thor and any girlfriend he had whenever the opportunity presented itself, in such an innocuous way that Thor could never quite tell if Loki was being a little shit or if he was genuinely clueless. Like -
Thor and Girlfriend are sitting under an apple tree in Idunn's orchard? Oh, Loki just happened to be climbing trees that day - he swings down from a branch with a bright, "Oh, hi! Fancy meeting you two here," while Thor and Girlfriend jump ten feet. Loki, oblivious, just hops down to the ground and helps himself to one of their apples. "Don't mind if I do," he says, sitting down on their blanket. "It's a lovely day for apple picking, isn't it?"
Or
Thor and Girlfriend have planned to attend the feast (what feast? Any feast, they have them like every weekend) together, but Loki manages to finagle the seat at the table in between them and when Thor says, "uh, Loki, about where you're sitting," Loki cuts him off and says, "Don't worry, I figured you two would fight over who got to sit next to me, so I made it easy, you're welcome."
Or
Thor and Girlfriend have just returned from a romantic horse ride through the countryside and, as they're in the stables, putting away the horses and doing whatever else it is people do post-ride, they get distracted by each other and are leaning in when Loki swings open the stable door. His "oh! Sorry!" is falsely apologetic and teasing. "You were about to kiss, weren't you? That's so sweet, I'll just wait," and then he goes and stands directly outside of the stable door and after about ten seconds yells, "Are you guys done yet?" and there's no reply, and another five seconds goes by, and he yells, "Now are you done?" and Thor practically roars back, "We're done now!" and he's ready to throttle Loki, he really is. Loki continues to be oblivious as he saunters back in, all smiles, like, "I'm so glad you two are back, I have big plans for us this evening," and Thor is just like, internally, norns, give me strength.

Thunderspider anon here: omegaverse, maybe Thor and Peter meet and have a sort of flirtation happening, but Thor holds back because he thinks Peter is with Tony. He finds out they are not together then... Idk
Sorry this took a minute, sweet Anon! I’ve been in love with Thunderspider the past few weeks and... alright, I hope you like this.
There also might be some more sweet Peter and Thor coming up soon...
Warnings: mmm only for Omegaverse and misunderstandings
---
“So, uh... where did you say you were from again?"
“New Asgard, off the Southern shore of Norway."
Peter hums in interest, “And how did you meet my Alpha?"
“Did he not tell you?"
“... mm, no. I don’t think so."
“We are work partners, and I owe Tony a great debt for assisting in the resettlement of our people."
They’re relatively close on the couch, knees touching, and Thor feels a bit uncomfortable. The boy in front of him is charming, stunning, but sadly, completely unavailable. It apparently doesn’t stop the younger man from leaning closer and resting a hand on Thor’s knee.
Peter's eyes brighten in recognition, “Oh! I didn’t realize that was your country, I’ve heard a bit about it, but I usually don’t get all the details, you know?"
Thor does know. His mother would often complain about being left out of important delegating decisions. So he just reaches down a pats the pretty Omega's hand comfortingly, holding it lightly and enjoying the slight warmth.
Peter blinks up at him and shuffles closer, squeezing Thor’s hand, “You can tell me more about it, if you’d like,” his delicate fingers rub slowly across Thor’s skin, “I’ve been told I’m a pretty good listener.”
“I wouldn’t doubt it,” Thor agrees. He already feels lost in those soulful eyes— a silent plea to give this man the world. His scent is alarmingly sweet, addictive. If Thor didn’t know better, he would think that the young Omega was in heat.
But Tony Stark would never let his Omega socialize with other Alphas if that were the case.
“So what do you think, Alpha,” Peter purrs, batting his eyelashes, “wanna take me up on it?"
This feels... wildly inappropriate and suggestive. Thor tries to slide away and avoid the Omega’s advances, but he’s quickly cornered against the arm of the couch with a lap full of Peter.
“Oh... oh, I don’t...”
“Didn’t my Alpha tell you why you’re here, Thor?"
His name sounds like sin coming from those sweet lips, and Peter shifts in a way that has Thor making a very dignified, manly squeak.
“T-to meet his Omega, while he’s away...”
Peter is still squeezing his hand, and uses his other to card a few fingers through Thor’s beard, tilting his head in admiration. “And I thought you agreed? Didn’t my dad fill you in on the details?”
“Your... no,” Thor shakes his head, trying to move the squirmy Omega off his lap, and sighing in frustration when he holds on tight, “No, I haven’t spoken to your father yet.”
“Oh.” Peter pouts, finally letting himself be moved. His perfect skin, porcelain and soft, warps into a frown, and Thor finds himself pulling the Omega closer to pet his hair. He hates seeing such a pretty Omega so sad, and rumbles comfortingly when Peter starts to sniffle. “I’m sorry then. I didn’t know that you didn’t want me.”
Thor feels so confused, but he places a light kiss on the boy’s hair anyways, “I’m sure there’s no one in the world who wouldn’t want you, darling Omega.”
“Then... does that mean you want me, Alpha?"
“It doesn’t matter what I want.”
Peter looks determined, and grabs Thor’s shoulders. “Okay. Let me get my dad, and we can iron things out.”
Oh, gods no. “I don’t think...” Thor tries to protest, but the Omega is up and off the couch in a flash, sprinting out of the room and leaving Thor in a heap of confusion.
He has no idea what Peter’s father will say, but it’s almost certain he’ll refer to the Alpha’s judgment— the judgment of Peter’s mate— before just letting Peter drape himself over another man.
Actually, on second thought, it might be best for Peter’s father to step in.
Standing to his feet, Thor’s surprised when Peter bursts back into the room, smiling timidly, with an annoyed Tony following behind him.
“Okay,” Peter chirps, coming to a stop next to Thor and motioning to Tony, “I brought my daddy. Can you two just talk it out?”
Thor stutters, “D-daddy? I... okay,” he’s definitely heard that term for a partner, but it’s still a surprise, so he turns to Tony, “I don’t... I don’t mean to overstep, Mr. Stark.”
Tony waves him off and turns to look at Peter, “Do you like him, Pete?"
“Yeah, Alpha,” Peter gives him a wink, “I like him a lot. He’s big.”
With a chuckle, Tony loops an arm around Peter, pulling him close. Are they really... are they considering...
“I didn’t think you would be apt to share, Anthony.”
“Share?” Tony and Peter exchange a look, “No, Thor. I don’t share. Was it not clear? Peter would be yours.”
“I think I need a drink.”
Thor sits back down on the couch, rubbing his head where he feels the beginning of a migraine setting in. His? Over all his years, he has never heard of an Alpha just giving away their Omega like this.
As he thinks about it, a spark of rage ignites inside his chest, “What type of Alpha are you, Stark?”
“Excuse me?” Tony’s eyes are wide, and Peter looks offended.
With an amused laugh, Thor gestures between them, “You would just give up your Omega to a random Alpha?”
“... well, not random...”
“I need to talk to his father about this. He should be aware of how careless you’re being with his son.”
There’s a pause. Tony crosses his arms, “Alright, wise ass. Tell me exactly what I should be doing with my son.”
“Dad, I don’t think...” Peter steps in, and it suddenly clicks.
Oh.
By Odin’s fucking beard.
“Peter Stark.”
Peter looks to him, “Yes?”
Oh.
“And your father is...”
“Me.” Tony says, frown deepening, “Who did you think he was?”
Thor sighs, scrubbing his face. “All I knew was that you wanted me to meet your Omega. I had assumed you meant your Omega mate.”
Another pause. And suddenly Peter is exhaling sharply, smiling, and then breaking down into heaving laughter, holding his stomach. Both Thor and Tony smile, enjoying the sweet Omega’s amusement.
“Oh god,” Peter wheezes, wiping tears out of his eyes, “I’m so sorry Thor, you must be so confused, poor Alpha.”
He sinks down onto the couch next to Thor, settling a hand on his shoulder and wiggling closer. Peter still scents so sweet— joyous laughter just adding to his already gentle Omega scent. Thor looks up to Tony for help, and the other Alpha just shakes his head.
“I thought you knew about Western mating procedures, but I shouldn’t have assumed that, so it’s my bad. My invitation— our invitation— was for you to court Peter and, if he chooses you, join him for his first heat.”
Peter ducks his face, hiding it in Thor’s shoulder, while his scent blooms with embarrassment. The young Omega murmurs, “Daddy says you’re the best Alpha for me, and I wanted to see for myself.” His eyes are wide as they peer, beseechingly, up into Thor’s face, “and I like you a ton, Thor. Offer’s still on the table.”
He feels confused still, but Thor’s focus is set dead ahead. He knows what his answer will be before he gives it— this Omega, with all his beauty and complications, has to be his.
“Tell me what I need to do, and it’s yours, Omega.”
At his words, Peter sways a bit, leaning on him fully as his scent shifts, this time more aroused and interested than embarrassed. It’s alluring and Thor can’t look away.
Tony clears his throat, “We were both prepared for you to take him back to New Asgard at the end of the week, if you end up choosing each other as mates. Let’s talk more later— I need to get back to the call Peter yanked me from, and I’ll leave you to... mingle.”
“Dad,” Peter whines, hiding his face again as Tony heads for the exit, leaving the two of them alone in the living room. Thor, at a loss for words, just pets the Omega’s hair, enjoying the soft weight of his body, how easily they fit together.
Peter is easily only a fraction of his size, yet their compatibility is almost flawless. Two pieces of a puzzle, stars circling in the night.
“Are you gonna mate me, Alpha?” Peter whispers. His voice is timid and unsure, and Thor gives him a soft smile, hoping his scent is reassuring as well.
He turns them both so that the Omega can lounge across his chest, making sure his hands are above the generous swell of his ass. Thor takes a deep breath and begins to rumble, coaxing Peter to join him in a steady purr.
It’s been a long time since he’s had an Omega purr for him.
“If you’d like, Peter. It would be my honor to mate you, to be your Alpha.”
“My Alpha,” Peter hums, closing his eyes and snuggling further into Thor’s arms, “I’d like that a lot.”
Thor can’t help but agree.

A/N: Request from @wrenstrange! Put up the decorations, it’s finally time again! Enjoy, everyone!
Words: 1957 Warnings: pure fluff, blood sample/needle/syringe, soft!Loki, fatique, fainting
You dropped like a piece of wood right about when you were making yourself a cup of tea in the kitchen. Knees ceasing to support you any longer, vision darkening, stars dancing around you making you dizzy. Your eyes rolled to the back of your head and before you knew it, your body finally won and shut down.
Although if you could have chosen, you would not have fallen straight into Loki’s arms whose reflexes caught you, preventing you from hitting the hard floor beneath you. He cradled you with his brows furrowed, his blue gaze almost helpless as he looked at Thor and Stark for support.
Then, everything went black.
-
“Welcome back.” You blinked, the artificial lights above your head blinding you. A hand held you down when you attempted to sit up drowsily. Bruce was leaning against a metal table in Tony’s lab, hands crossed before his chest and with a concerned expression on his face. “You blacked out,” he explained, “out of the blue.”
“How are you feeling?” Tony added.
You only realised then that it was Loki who had held you down. He was sitting on a chair right next to the makeshift bed they had carried into Tony’s lab and he was observing you with Argus eyes. Your heart sped up when you noticed. You usually tended to avoid the God of Mischief at all cost. There was a part of you that was afraid of him after watching him making an entire crowd kneel in Stuttgart, the other was hands down swooning over him. It had all started when he had rescued a cat from a tree, honouring a cliché he had not even been aware of. But someone who helped defenceless little kittens had to have a soft heart deep down, no?
Thor had brought him to Earth along with him after Asgard had been destroyed. He could not exactly be considered an Avenger but he had long surpassed the villain image… at least, to some extent. Well, you were no Avenger either. You used to be a SHIELD intern and then somehow ended up with the superheroes themselves. Apart from some basic fighting skills and the ability to use a gun, you had been trained to spend most of your time in front of a computer, often working twelve hours or even more a day. What did they say? Evil never sleeps.
“Any idea what might have caused this?” Bruce continued.
You shook your head. “No. But I’ve been having migraines and a persistent fatigue that just won’t go away.”
“I see… anything else?”
“Um…”
“You can talk to us, (Y/N).”
“Well, I… I’ve been dizzy a lot lately but that sometimes happens during my special week of the month so I didn’t think anything of it.” You took a deep breath but hesitated.
“And?”
“I’ve been sweating way more when working out. Like, a lot more. Instead of making progress… I feel like I’m getting weaker every day. It’s frustrating.”
“Uh-huh. I’m taking a blood sample. FRIDAY will run a couple of tests on you to figure out what’s wrong.”
“What? No! Nothing’s wrong! We don’t need a b-blood sample.”
“No one faints for no reason, (Y/N), especially not on Loki.” Loki rolled his eyes but did not leave your side, even when Bruce started fiddling around with some gear and apparently, a first-aid kit and then approached you with a syringe and a small clear vial.
“I’ve done this a million times before, I’ll be gentle.”
“No! No, no blood test, Bruce, please!” Almost hysterically, you moved back on the bed, your heart in your mouth.
“(Y/N),” Loki suddenly said calmly. You shivered when he spoke your name, his head tilted slightly. “Are you afraid of needles?”
“N-n-no…” You lied. Loki raised an eyebrow.
“Look at me.” He said. Hesitating only a little, you did as you were told. It wasn’t like his tone allowed any contradiction anyway. In fact, it reminded you a lot of his strict and bossy tone when he had caused chaos in Germany. “It has to be done. Hold my hand and do not take your eyes off of me.”
“Who are you and what you have done to Reindeer Games?” Tony tossed in, throwing the Trickster a suspicious glance. Loki rolled his eyes once more. As if he had any obligation to explain himself to Stark of all people.
In the meantime, you were panicking even more. Loki was being nice and considerate with you and Bruce was about to pierce your skin with a needle. Oh, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck… your breathing sped up.
“Look. At. Me.” Loki repeated. You obeyed this time, allowing him to take your hand and press it gently. Much to your surprise, it immediately calmed you down a little. You gaped at him unbelievingly. You didn’t even feel the needle going into your skin and drawing blood. Wait… was he casting a spell on you?
“There. All done.” You could not bring yourself to look where Bruce brought your blood sample but when both Tony and he stepped away and turned their backs on you, you swallowed.
“T-thank you…” You had to ask—not because you did not think he was not capable of offering his help without seeking a personal advantage and not because you didn’t think he was too evil to even think about being selfless… but because you were genuinely curious about his motivation. Loki did nothing without a reason, he was always one step ahead. “You put a spell on me, didn’t you?”
He nodded. “Why… why did you do that for me?”
“We are all afraid of something.” It was the only response he gave you. For a few moments, you merely sat there quietly, neither of you uttering a single word. Only when Bruce and Tony returned did you realise that Loki was still holding your hand.
“Okay… I’ve got the results from your blood test and FRIDAY couldn’t find anything suspicious.” Tony announced, scrolling on his tablet. Bruce adjusted his glasses to take a peek.
“You said you’ve been feeling tired? You sweat a lot, you get dizzy, and I’m presuming you barely have an appetite?”
“I don’t have time to eat a lot to be honest…” You confirmed.
“Any concentration problems?”
Pressing your lips together to a thin line, you thought about it for a moment. Now that he mentioned it… it had gotten obnoxiously hard to focus on your work lately. Eventually, you nodded.
“Sounds like severe exhaustion to me.” Bruce said. “Do you have issues with low blood pressure or diabetes or any other medical condition? No, FRIDAY would have found something like that. You know what I think? You overworked yourself.”
“Like… a burnout?” You probed.
“Most definitely.”
You grunted. Oh, that was just great. There you were, attempting to squeeze in regular workouts in this awesome training hall the Avengers called the HARM room after work to get stronger and hence, eventually gather up the courage to speak to Loki and now you looked exactly like what you did not want him to see you as—a weak and meagre human.
“The best medicine would be for you to quit work for a while and stop physical exercise altogether.”
“Banner is right,” Tony added. “Take a few weeks off and rest, sleep in, eat more and healthy… the whole program. I officially give you a holiday.”
“You’re not my boss, Tony, you can’t give me a holiday.” Your smile was weak. “But I don’t have time for this anyway! I can’t believe this is happening so soon before Christmas!” You whined. “I can’t stay in bed, I’ve got so much to do! I have to buy presents and decorate and bake biscuits and make gingerbread… Besides, I’m gonna fall behind on all the data.”
He shrugged. “I’ll take care of that. Let me talk to Fury. You let us know if you need anything. Can you take her to her room, Reindeer Games? And please, no funny business.” Beside you, Loki was just frowning, utterly ignoring the billionaire’s request.
“Why were you pushing yourself so hard?” He finally spoke when the two Avengers had left—whether it was genuine confusion or mere curiosity in his voice, you were not sure. “Why were you training for battle in the first place? I have never seen you out on a mission.”
You sighed. Time to let the cat out of the bag, it wasn’t like you were still going to make a good impression on him anymore now.
“I wanted to impress you, I guess…”
“Impress me?” Loki repeated incredulously.
“Yeah… catch your attention… in a way. I mean, part of me is still terrified of you, of course but… you have a good heart, Loki. I knew when I saw you rescuing that cat from the tree.”
The God of Mischief rolled his eyes. “I knew this was going to damage my reputation.” He responded with a sly smirk, making you grin. “It was an innocent kitten, what was I supposed to do?”
“See?”
Your heart skipped a beat when his blue eyes locked with yours. He appeared… uncertain; not used to dealing with affection. Loki swallowed.
“Can you walk?”
“I’m not sure…”
The God of Mischief sighed, his lips pressed together to a thin line. Without any hesitation, he snuck one of his arms under your knees and wrapped the other around your waist. He lifted you off the makeshift bed as if you weighed nothing—and to him, you probably didn’t.
Loki carried you to your room in utter silence and eventually lay you down in your bed. Your heart jumped when he sat down on the edge of the bed himself, with a peculiar interest in his hands so he would not have to look you in the eye.
“There is no need to impress me.” He suddenly said. Your head shot up. “I did not think anyone would even… never mind.”
Oh. It almost felt like you were finally getting to know each other, for real this time.
“Do you want to stay for a while? I was going to watch some Christmas movies if I’m not allowed to get out of bed.” You sighed. “I can’t even decorate. You have no idea how many decorations I have to put up. None of the others care to make it a little more festive here, especially not Fury.”
“Yes, I have seen the boxes.” Loki replied. “It’s a little… corny, wouldn’t you say?”
“Honestly, when living among superheroes who risk their lives every single day, you could use a little corny.”
“I see.” Loki simply waved his hand and before you knew it, your entire room was decorated. Green and red tinsel shimmered on your window sill, holiday lights were blinking above your door and fake—but incredibly real-looking—snowflakes hung from the ceiling. Many of your favourite decoration items were now sitting on your nightstand and your desk, including your tiny little Christmas tree. The rest of the decorations, so it seemed, Loki must have spread all over the Tower.
“Oh my Goodness… Loki, this is amazing!” The God of Mischief winked and when you looked down on yourself, you noticed you too were wearing a green and gold Christmas sweater. Heavens, you could kiss him. “Thank you so much! What did you… is the entire Tower…”
“Yes.” He confirmed. He didn’t have to. Tony did only a fraction of a second later.
“Thor! Can you tell me why my Ironman helmet just grew metal antlers? I swear to God, if Reindeer Games has something to do with this…” It was then you exploded with laughter despite your exhaustion.

A Little Pain (And A Lil Glory)
i have to thank @high-functioning-lokipath for helping me with all my questions about migraines. Thank you SO much, you’re amazing 💜 Anyways! I made the reader go through all four stages of migraines (prodrome, aura, attack, and post-drome!)
Tumblr media
Summary: REQUEST. Loki helps with your migraine.
PRODROME
You open the fridge and lightly hum as you search through the contents. Loki walks in and sees you which in turn makes him change his decision to make coffee and to instead come up to your back and hug you from behind. He rests his chin on your shoulder.
“What is my beloved searching for?” He asks, his lips finding your neck and leaving pecks there. You sigh and tilt your head so he may continue kissing with easier access. He notices the movement is strained, as if your neck is a bit stiff.
“I’m kind of craving moon berries.”
Loki heeds no thought to the craving and pulls from you. “Moon berries? I don’t think Thor brought many back the last time he made a trip to Asgard.” Loki finishes the sentence with a small hum. He gently moves you aside and waves his hand in front of the refrigerator. You gasp when a secret shelf appears from nowhere.
Loki chuckles at your excitement as he opens the newly appeared drawer. “I do not share everything we bring back and if you dare tell a soul-”
You hop on your toes with excitement coursing through your body and smile at Loki. “You’ll kill me, I know!”
Loki sputters but laughs. “No, I was going to say I will punish you. I could never kill you, my love.”
You let out a small, embarrassed oh but gasp and hop up to kiss Loki when he pulls two moon berries from the drawer and gives them to you.
AURA
Next, Loki becomes suspicious when you’re talking to him but keep glancing away to a specific spot in the room just over his shoulder.
“Darling?” He questions when you glance away once more. Your eyes are quick to snap back to him at his question.
“Sorry, I keep seeing something flashing over there, Tony must have left a tablet where the sun could shine on it or something.” You wave off Loki’s concern.
When you’re both done talking and you have returned to your floor Loki still sits there. He gets up and makes his way to the area you had been looking at. Nothing is there but a bare ottoman. Loki realizes what is occurring because he had read up on migraines so he could better attend to yours that had grown from rare to often occurring.
Loki wants to wave this off with doubt just because he really hopes you don’t have an oncoming migraine. He hates when you’re in pain.
Loki can’t deny the evidence anymore because the next day you claim you must have slept on your arm wrong, it has pins and needles all day.
ATTACK
You groan and shift further under the blankets of your bed when the lights switch on.
“Darling, it’s two in the afternoon, you need to get up and at least eat something.” Loki chides softly as he walks through your room and comes to rest on the edge of your bed.
When Loki slowly lifts the covers to see you, you look at him with squinty eyes, your hand coming up to shield them and practically hiss.
“Migraine.” Is all you supply Loki. Loki nods with understanding and climbs under the covers with you. When he drops the covers you both look at each other in the dark lighting.
You wince at a particular throb on the right side of your head. It feels as though someone has hit you over the head with a rock. The pain starts from the base of your skull and climbs up towards your eye. Loki brings his hands up, between the both of you, and rests his fingers on each of your temples. You close your eyes and he begins kneading with moderate pressure. You sigh and melt into his calloused hands.
“Have you taken medicine yet?” Loki whispers into the enclosed space. You whisper out a no to which Loki responds with a disappointed sound.
You nearly whimper when Loki pulls his fingers from your temple. You can’t stop the way your body leans forward into his receding hands. Loki hushes at you then he’s waving his hands in the enclosed space, the blankets wavering with the movement, and a bottle of menstrual medicine appears.
You let out a strained smile. “Do you keep menstrual medicine on you at all times?”
“Perhaps,” Loki opens the bottle with ease and tilts the bottle. Two pills fall into his hand and he hands them to you. All these movements come off as awkward considering you’re under the covers. “You have been having more migraines recently, and I read these really help migraines...do you need water?” Loki asks you with a small frown on his face.
“No.” You grab the pills and swallow them with practiced movements.
“Well, I pride myself in being prepared for everything.” Loki continues as he watches you settle back down. He quickly magics the bottle away and looks at you again from his side.
“Always ten steps ahead…” You mutter as you close your eyes again.
“Precisely.” Loki replies satisfied as he brings his fingers to your temple and begins massaging again. This time his fingers stray from your temples and knead through your hair.
“Which side is it?” He asks softly.
“Right.”
Loki moves his hands, one supporting the left side of your head and the other kneading into the right side. It feels amazing, so much so that you let out a relieved groan. “Thanks.” You murmur.
Loki lets his hands work on you for a minute before he is pulling away again. “I apologize. I feel like I might actually suffocate in this heat.” Loki chuckles out. He waves his hand and you see your room’s lights flash off. Loki yanks the covers from over your heads and takes in a deep breath. “Norns.” He huffs out causing you to lightly laugh but it’s cut off when you wince and bring your hands up to hold your head.
Loki is quick to turn back to you and rests his hands over yours on your head. His face is etched with concern and bewilderment. “I will never understand why you will not just let me use magic to remedy your migraines.”
“That’s cheating.” You spout out petulantly. You open your eyes in time to see Loki rolling his. You giggle. “I need to learn to deal with them because what if I become dependent on your magic and then one day you’re not there?”
Loki gives a slight raise of his eyebrows, as if silently admitting you might be right. “Have you ever considered that I’ll always be there for you?”
You can feel a dopey smile split across your lips. “Don’t make promises like that Loki.”
Loki frowns. “Like what?”
“Promises you can’t possibly keep.” You explain.
Loki lets out a huff of breath that sounds close to a sigh then looks at you with endearment. “Darling, I promise to always be there for you.”
You look at Loki with wide, doe eyes. “For all time?”
Loki smiles. “Always.”
You lay there with Loki for some time, time you don’t keep track of. The medicine you took earlier is not helping a lot or at least isn’t working as well probably because you don’t have food in your stomach. The nausea you felt earlier is growing stronger. Your legs begin shaking and your mouth begins producing more spit than necessary. You sit up with a swallow. Loki is quick to sit up with you, his hand fanning across your lower back. Before he can ask what’s going on you’re hopping out of the bed and rushing to the bathroom.
Loki hears the retching begin and sighs. He had really hoped it wouldn’t get bad enough to make you physically ill. He untangles himself from the bedding and enters the bathroom. You’re quick to throw a hand up and shake your head. A bad decision because you gasp and grab your head.
“Don’t look at me.” You plead.
Loki considers leaving you be but it’s not even a choice. He comes behind you and kneels. He grabs your hair and holds it back so you don’t get sick in it.
“I feel as if we are past the point of being disgusted by each other considering we’ve ingested each other's bodily fluids before.”
Loki smiles a little when you let out a shocked laugh. “You make giving you head sound so clinical-” You gag as you speak and hurl into the toilet.
Loki brings his free hand up to rub across your back as you heave.
“You will have to take more medicine considering you most likely just vomited it all up.” Loki mutters as an afterthought.
When you tell Loki you’re fine and not going to get sick anymore he helps you stand, slowly, and hands you your toothbrush with toothpaste already on it.
As you brush your teeth he moves through the bathroom. He grabs a hand towel and wets it, wringing it out so it isn’t dripping, merely damp.
You both move back to the bed. He hands you two more pills that you swallow quickly, then you lay down. Before he lays down with you he uses a blue hand to make the damp towel cold. He lays it across your forehead and smiles when you let out a grateful moan.
Your eyes are closed so when your hand reaches out for him it reaches aimlessly. He is quick to grab your hand and kiss it then he lays down next to you.
“You need to eat something.” Loki speaks into the silent room as he stares up at the ceiling in thought about what you need and how to take care of you.
“I just threw up everything though.” You whisper with whining resistance.
“I know. Meaning you have nothing on your stomach. Taking medicine without food could cause things to get worse.” Loki explains in a gentle voice. He had done plenty of research for you.
“Can we just start with drinking something? My stomach is still queasy.”
Loki hums thoughtfully. “I’ll make some tea, perhaps the caffeine may help.”
You pat Loki’s arm. “You’re a lifesaver, babe.”
Loki flushes at your term of endearment. Loki is usually the one to use endearments, not you. He clears his throat and sits up. “I shall be but a moment.”
POST-DROME
Loki finally gets you to eat some soup and bread before you lay back down and go to sleep.
The next day you sit up and hold your breath. The pain is gone. You quickly turn to Loki who is blinking his eyes open groggily. You wince when there is slight pain at your fast movement. It’s minor compared to what was going on yesterday though.
Loki slowly sits up and you flush when the sheets fall down his bare chest and pool in his lap. “Feeling better?” He asks in a sleep roughened croak. His hand comes up to trail up your arm and land on your shoulder where he rubs it in a soothing circle. He rubs the sleep from his eyes with his other hand.
“Loads better. I just feel some pain if I turn my head too fast.”
Loki hums thoughtfully then yawns. He turns and checks the time from the clock on the nightstand. “It is seven A.M. sweetheart, do you have somewhere to be?” Loki looks back at you with a raised eyebrow.
You shake your head and throw yourself into Loki who lets out a grunt at the impact before he falls back into the bed with you now on top of him. He squeezes you in a hug then lets his hands rub over your back. You both lay there with your eyes closed, enjoying the embrace, breathing in each other’s scent.
“Thank you for taking care of me.” You murmur, already half asleep.
“Of course. Anything for my beloved.” Loki says, kissing your forehead.
“I know you really love me ‘cuz you watched me puke ‘n still look at me like I’m the prettiest woman in the world.” You slur out making Loki chuckle.
“Go to sleep, darling.” Loki mutters. The vibrations of his words emitting from his chest make you snuggle into him more and sigh.
“Love me, right?” You ask in a drowsy tone.
“I do.” Loki says. He snickers when you pinch his arm. “I love you.” He whispers.
You let out a happy noise then let sleep take you for a few more hours, wrapped in Loki’s warm embrace.

Rating: Not rated
Relationships: Peter Parker & Tony Stark, Michelle Jones & Ned Leeds & Peter Parker, Peter Parker & Academic Decathlon Team, Bruce Banner & Roger Harrington
Characters: Peter Parker, Tony Stark, Michelle Jones, Ned Leeds, FRIDAY, Academic Decathlon Team
Summary: Peter Parker was sick, and he would not let that keep him from going to his Field Trip. It also gave Tony a reason to take over the tour.
Hey Beca! Surprise!!!! I’m your off-holidays secret santa! I really hope you enjoy the fic!
Peter Parker-Stark was not having a good day.
But that wasn’t unusual, was it?
No, his luck had never been the best to begin with, so bad days were something he had grown used to (as sad as that was).
But his bad days were usually because of the villain of the week, or a study session for Decathlon he had forgotten about (but MJ hadn’t, because she never forgot stuff like that). Sometimes it was gym class and having to pretend that he was weak and couldn’t do the exercises like his classmates; some others because he had to leave Ned and MJ staying up for him to watch a movie that would have to wait because people apparently forgot that kidnapping was illegal.
All in all, bad days were even more common than good days, so it wasn’t at all surprising.
What was surprising was that Peter woke up sick.
Sure, he had been a very sickly kid all his childhood (and part of teenagehood, even if the word sounded weird), but after his run-in with a certain radioactive spider, Peter had had nothing else but perfect health. Ever since that horrible night when we spent an uncountable amount of time puking his guts out and fever-dreaming, he had not been sick. Nothing. Nada.
For four years.
So why the hell did he feel like dying?
Peter hadn’t felt more nauseous in his life. Well… except for that time when the spider bit him and his stomach had felt as if it was fighting a war with food (and losing), but that time he had actually thrown up.
Today he had woken up feeling as if all his dinner (and midnight snack) would be coming back up, except they hadn’t, and Peter had felt miserable all morning, especially when he had to bend over to pick his clothes even though his dad always told him to leave your clothes somewhere where I can’t step on them, Pete.
[He’d listen to his dad from now on. Maybe.]
His dad had left him a note on the kitchen next to a plate of pancakes that, if it were any other day, would’ve smelled heavenly. As it was, Peter just grabbed the note and ran (power walked, really) out of the kitchen so he could read it in peace.
Hey kiddo! See you in a few hours ;) Pls eat breakfast. It’s chilly out so grab something comfy, I don’t want a repeat of last Xmas. Love you! Dad
Peter sighed, if it were for him, he’d have stayed in bed all day, but nooooooo. Today had to be his Decathlon team’s field trip to the Tower and he knew that he wouldn’t be able to miss it. He didn’t even want to miss it. Sure, most of his class didn’t believe him, but he really wanted to show his home to Ned and MJ, since they could never visit because your dad is Iron Man! Danger! Authorized personnel only!
Besides, he would even get to show the team that the internship was real, maybe that way they’d stop calling him a liar behind his back; as if their whispers were subtle. Peter bet that he would be able to hear them even without his super hearing.
“Peter, Mr. Hogan is waiting for you in the garage. I would advise you to eat your breakfast while it’s still hot.”
Peter hurriedly grabbed a hoodie that someone (probably him) had left draped over the sofa and ran to the elevator. An unhappy Happy was not someone anyone ever wanted to encounter.
(Sometimes he wondered if the Happy from Snow White could ever be unhappy like his Happy. Not that he ever told anyone.)
::
People at school were staring at him for longer than usual. Peter thought it had something to do with the fact that his skin was most definitely green and that it looked as if he would make a dash for the bathroom at any second. Belatedly, he thought about the bus ride to the Tower and prayed to Loki (because Uncle Thor never really answered) that he wouldn’t have to ride at the back.
“Well, someone's feeling bold today. What gives, eight legs?”
Peter jumped a little when he heard MJ appear behind him and grab the sleeves of his hoodie. Ned wasn’t far behind her.
“What do you mean, MJ?” Peter turned around to look at her, “Bold?”
MJ let his sleeve go, an are you serious, Parker? look in her eyes that he knew too well.
“Dude! That is so cool! Tony lets you use his clothes? I thought they’d fit better but that hoodie is super baggy, where did you get it? Did you raid a cardboard box with other cool stuff? Did you find any science trophies-?”
Peter was pretty sure his face was the epitome of confusion, and MJ was merciful enough to put him out of his misery.
“The hoodie, loser. It says ‘Stark’ on the back.”
Oh.
Oh.
Peter must’ve grabbed his father’s hoodie from his MIT days. Tony had a habit of leaving it in the living room for Peter to use when they had a movie night. Clint had called it proof of the Dadvengers being an actual thing, but his dad had thrown the bowl of popcorn to the archer’s face and that had been that.
[That had not been that, and Tony was now the (questionably) proud owner of a pair of Crocs that had big plastic letters with the word DADVENGER on the front. Not that Peter knew that.]
It made sense though, Peter always went to that hoodie for comfort, and today had been especially shitty.
MJ threw an eraser to his forehead, counting on Peter to catch it and snap out of whatever it was that he was thinking.
“It looks good on you, nerd. Now hurry up, because I am not sitting at the back of the bus and I’m dragging you two dorks with me.”
And with that, MJ turned around and started walking towards their bus, expecting Ned and Peter to follow.
Of course they followed. They were best friends with the scary lady, they knew that nothing good would happen if they didn’t. It wasn’t until they had already taken their seats that Peter remembered MJ liked to ride on the back and sketch people’s faces.
Awwww, so she did love him.
::
Flash made sure to kick his leg as he made his way towards the back of the bus.
“Good thing I’m not going to be anywhere near you, Penis. You look like you’re gonna toss your cookies at any moment-” Wait, was Flash worried about him? Did he really look that sick? “-I’ll make sure to film it though, maybe show it to every single employee we find, what do you think? They’ll see how pathetic the guy posing as an intern actually is.”
Or, Peter thought, maybe he’s just making fun of me.
::
When the bus rumbled to life, and Peter felt the engine and its little tremors on his whole body, he had to hug his stomach and bend until his head was practically hidden between his legs. Because of that, he didn’t get to see Ned and MJ exchange looks that practically screamed this idiot is actually going to toss his cookies, isn’t he?
Knowing Peter as well as they did, they figured out pretty quickly that he probably had decided to come on the trip just for them. And, yeah, they loved the adorable dork, but the second he was feeling better MJ wouldn’t hesitate to punch him for being an idiot.
Though, judging by the way Peter groaned and buried himself in his hoodie, they guessed the nausea (and the migraine that the spiderling felt coming) was enough punishment for now.
Ned shuffled on his seat until he managed to get his jacket off and proceeded to drape it like a blanket on top of Peter, who hadn’t even noticed that he was shivering until he felt the very warm and very comfy fabric on top of him. It smelled like Ned and his lavender cologne, strong enough to comfort him but light enough to not make him puke.
Peter still groaned when he felt the bus do a particularly nasty jump that left his stomach rolling and his head bouncing, which did not help his headache at all. The sound of a pencil over paper told him that MJ was having way too much fun with his misery. Flash’s snickering wasn’t really welcome either.
Mr. Harrington? Well, at this point he and Ned were the only people he would tolerate, so he wasn’t too angry when his science teacher knelt beside him.
“Peter? Are you feeling okay? I brought some Benadryl you can take if you’re feeling bus sick, maybe even some gum?”
He knew that his teacher meant well, but the thought of the peppermint gum his teacher was sure to be carrying made his nausea worse. Shaking his head was also out of the question when he felt his headache spiking into there’s a hammer on my skull levels.
Thankfully, he had the best friend in the whole world, and he spoke sick Peter (though he was a bit rusty in the language, the spiderling hadn’t been sick for a long time, though you didn’t hear Ned complaining about that).
“Uh, Mr. Harrington? Peter’s fine. Just, don’t mention the bus sickness? Or the gum?”
Their teacher –bless him– just gave them a look before going back to his place at the front of the bus.
When Peter’s head bounced again after their driver decided that he wanted to play a game of how to drive through the lanes with the most bumps, MJ sighed and threw her sweater at the vigilante. The smell of her fabric softener and the soft wool made for the perfect pillow, and he was out like a light for the rest of the ride.
::
You know how sometimes you feel sick, and you take a nap to make yourself feel better? But it actually does the opposite and you wake up feeling like shit?
Yeah.
If it weren’t for Ned, Peter thought he might not have been able to sit up from the (very uncomfortable) bus seat. As it was, he faithfully followed his best friends like a baby duckling until they were standing with the whole team in front of Stark Tower.
The oohs and aahs weren’t helping his headache any. Even though everyone from the Decathlon team lived in New York, they stared at the Tower as if it was a view they didn’t see every day.
Even Mr. Harrington looked excited, and he never looked like that unless he was explaining a particularly interesting chemical reaction. Peter wondered if that’s the face he would make when the class gave him the set of new beakers everyone had gotten him for Teacher’s Day.
Memo to me, he thought, remind me to ask MJ to sketch his face that day.
Before he knew anything, they were going inside the Tower.
Right into his home.
::
Peter’s head felt like it was made of cotton.
His nausea had returned tenfold, and now his muscles felt heavy, stiff. As if he had been gone out on patrol for far too long and his super healing had yet to kick in. Every movement costed him as if there were weights strapped to his limbs.
He knew that he wasn't the only one that noticed.
Still, he took a deep breath, straightened up as much as his rolling stomach let him, and let the glare of the sun right on his eyes and into what was becoming the worst headache of his life.
If anyone at the Tower figured out that he was sick, his dad would worry. Peter didn’t want that.
::
Surprisingly, Mr. Harrington managed to herd them into a line of students that could have been called straight, except for the fact that Ned and MJ had decided to be his personal bodyguards (how they were going to guard him from the worst case of flu he had ever experienced, Peter didn’t know) and stand at his sides in case he decided to take a little tumble. Still, since they were at the end of the line no one really seemed to mind.
They got Eloise as their tour guide. Peter liked to give tours of the Tower masquerading as an intern, and Eloise almost always ended up with him as her shadow. They had bonded over their sixth (seventh for Peter) sense that warned them of people trying to touch stuff they specifically told them not to touch. As much as Peter was relieved that their guide was someone he knew (not that he didn’t know everyone in the Tower), the second Eloise laid her eyes on him she’d know that he was sick. And if she knew, it wouldn’t be long before Tony did.
Sure enough, her eyes lingered a bit longer on his form before she clapped her hands animatedly and addressed his team.
“Well hello, Midtown! It’s a pleasure to have the winners of the National Academic Decathlon competition here at Stark Industries! I’m sure your teacher has gone over the rules with you, but you’ll have to bear with me,” his classmates were too busy being excited to really care about having to wait a few seconds longer to go inside, even MJ seemed especially attentive. “Our most important rule here at Stark Industries is that we do not condone harassment. If we see you harassing any of your classmates or any of our employees you will all be required to step out of the building. I know that it’s not fair for those of you that are sweet and innocent angels, but you have to be accompanied by your teacher at all times, and if one person has to step out, all of you have to follow. There are no warnings, no third strike, you’re out. You harass anyone, you’re out.”
Unsurprisingly, everyone subtly (and not so subtly) looked at Flash, promising him hell with their glares if he got them kicked out of the coolest building in the world. And –as if they had rehearsed it– all the team nodded at the same time.
Eloise smiled at them.
“Great! Now, rule number two is very simple: you do not touch anything unless you have permission. You will not believe how many times this rule is broken in our tours, but I’m counting on you to be a good group and keep your grabby hands to yourselves.”
That said, she clapped her hands together and motioned for the team to follow her through the metal scanner that doubled as an entrance to the public. Everyone followed Eloise through it without a second thought, probably ignoring the fact that their faces were being scanned as they walked right through. It wasn’t until Peter made his way to his teammates that FRIDAY spoke up, effectively scaring everyone into jumping a couple of feet in the air (even MJ, and that gave him bragging rights for months).
“Hello, Peter. It’s odd to see you back so soon, is everything alright?”
By force of habit, Peter answered the AI before he even realized that said AI had no right to be familiar with him.
“Hey, FRI! I’m on a field trip, not that you didn’t know that.”
“Your sassiness has been noted, Peter.”
He smiled at the ceiling as he often did when talking to FRIDAY, but someone clearing their throat brought him back to the very real fact that his Decathlon team was staring at him as if he had grown a second head, or those extra arms Ned liked to talk about.
“Stop stealing the attention of my tour group, puppy eyes. We have a schedule to follow.”
Eloise winked at him, purposefully using the nickname Clint and Nat had made for Peter. The vigilante mock-glared at their guide, but dutifully acted like a duckling and following her to the elevator.
His team kept staring at him.
Maybe he had grown an extra set of arms after all.
::
“Boss, Peter is in the building and he is looking remarkably under the weather.”
Tony looked up from his cup of coffee, half a cookie in his mouth.
“Run that by me again, FRI?”
“Peter appears to be exhibiting symptoms consistent with the flu, sir. Very noticeable nausea, very slow walking, and possible headache.”
Tony rubbed at his forehead, exasperated. His kid was going to be the death of him, and it wasn’t even 10 AM.
“Did he even eat breakfast, FRI? Like I told him to?”
“Negative, Boss. His pancakes are on a lunch box in his backpack. By my calculations, they are already cold and possibly unappetizing.”
This time, Tony let his head drop to the kitchen counter with a quiet thud. His teeth catching on the uneaten remains of the cookie.
“This kid…”
::
Riding on the elevator had been a Bad Idea. With capital letters and everything.
The moment they had started moving upwards to what Peter could see was floor 47, his nausea started up again, worse than ever. Dizziness had also decided to make an appearance, and for a good 12 floors, he had to lean on Ned to avoid dropping like a sack of potatoes on top of Cyndi and Charles.
MJ made sure to take a picture of his face so she could draw it later.
She also kept one of her hands hovering behind his back in case he decided to topple over Mr. Harrington instead.
When the elevator doors opened after what seemed like an eternity, Peter was one of the first people out, vowing to himself to never go inside an elevator again.
(He knew he’d have to break his vow the minute the team had to go to lunch, but he ignored that for now.)
“Well, Midtown, we’re on floor 47. This is one of the more advanced sections of the Tower, and tour groups aren’t usually allowed up here, but Mr. Stark made an exception for you guys. You can thank puppy eyes over there, Peter’s his personal intern and probably the reason you’ll get to meet some Avengers today–” everyone erupted into squeals of excitement, most of the team looking at Peter as if they were seeing him for the first time in their lives.
“Wait, so you do have an internship here, man?”
“And you’re Tony Stark’s personal intern?”
“Think you can give us a tour of the super-secret stuff, Parker?”
Oh, Thor. His team was staring at him as if they wanted to eat him alive.
“I’m afraid Peter can’t show you any classified stuff, or he’d risk being fired. However, we can continue on with the tour and I’ll show you to the super cool lab that’s right behind you.”
And with that, everyone turned to look at the glass walls that separated them from what Peter knew to be the prosthetics lab. From what he could see, Bruce was working down here today.
Apparently, his classmates made the same discovery promptly after Peter did and had started to whisper animatedly about Bruce Banner being right in front of them oh God they should have brought a picture of him so he could sign it.
If his team had been a bunch of puppies, they would have all been wagging their tails.
It was kind of cute, actually.
::
“Boss, Peter and his team are down on the prosthetic lab on floor 47. Dr. Banner is also working there at the moment.”
Tony grinned, grabbing his third cup of coffee and making his way to the elevator.
He had a kid to take care of, and two best friends he needed to meet.
::
The moment they stepped inside the lab, one of the interns –Mark?– grabbed Peter by the arm and dragged him to one of the tables at the center of the room. (And– yep, there was the headache again.)
“Uh, excuse me– I can’t allow you to take a student from the group–”
“Roger? Roger Harrington?”
Every single person in the room simultaneously turned to look at Dr. Banner and Mr. Harrington in what would have been a very comic reenactment of a tennis match if it wasn’t for the fact that Bruce Banner apparently knew Mr. Harrington and he hadn’t thought to tell them.
“Dr. Banner, ah… I didn’t think you’d remember me.”
Bruce came up to their teacher and hugged him.
Honest to Thor hugged him.
“Of course I would! Peter likes to talk about his science classes and your name comes up once in a while. He’s one of our best engineers, by the way, you’ll have to excuse us for trying to steal your student; we don’t usually get him to come down and help with this lab, even if it was his idea in the first place.”
The tour group had turned to look back at Peter, who by that time had made use of one of the stools in the lab and had sat down to examine what looked to be a prosthetic hand.
(Well, the tour group minus Mr. Harrington, who looked ecstatic about one of his students telling Dr. Banner about his science class, that he enjoyed.)
Queens’ vigilante was valiantly ignoring the looks his classmates were giving him, opting to test the mobility on the prosthetic arm he was working on. That didn’t stop him from listening to Flash’s sputtering, and Peter cracked a smile at the finger his bully was pointing at him.
“I did tell you I had an internship…”
“But you didn’t tell me that you had a Field Trip today, kiddo. Shouldn’t I have signed something?”
::
So this is how Peter died. The flu wouldn’t kill him, oh no. The flu was there to make him feel even more miserable while he watched his dad making his way to his table, Spider-Man mug in hand and sunglasses on, walking in like he owned the place (which, he did…).
“Uh… I had my Aunt sign it, sir?”
His dad set the mug down next to Peter’s tools on the table, before making grabby hands at his handiwork and examining, turning it every which way.
The room was eerily quiet.
And then–
“You’re Tony Stark!”
Tony turned to look at the tour group before him.
“And you all have elbows,” at the sight of the kids’ stunned faces, the billionaire shrugged, “What? I thought we were pointing out the obvious.”
He turned to look at back at his son and took note of the hoodie under a large jacket that could’ve only belonged to Ned. He smirked.
“Isn’t that my hoodie?”
Peter grinned back at his father, taking the prosthetic from his dad and carefully placing it back in its case.
“Hoodie? What hoodie?”
Tony just laughed, ruffling his kid’s curls and taking note of the way he winced when his head moved a little too much for his liking.
“Just for that, I’m stealing your hoodie next time I see it laying around in the lab.”
The mechanic’s eyes scanned the gaggle of stunned teenagers and one starry-eyed teacher before he spotted the two people he had been looking for. They were unmistakable, even if he had never met them personally –the walls in his son’s room were filled to the brim with pictures of these two. He pointed at them.
“Ted and Melissa, right?”
Peter hid his head on his hands. Of course Tony was picking today of all days to be a dad.
Ned didn’t look nearly as affected as Peter.
“Yes, sir! Well, kinda…”
His father huh-ed, and then looked at their tour guide.
“Eloise, was it? You’re free to go back to your project. I’ve got the little ducklings.”
She nodded quickly, saying goodbye to the team while Dr. Banner and Mr. Harrington swapped numbers.
Then, Tony led them to the elevator.
Ned and MJ were right there for him to lean on while they made their way to the training rooms. So was his dad, but by this point, he was pretty sure that FRIDAY had told him something was definitely not fine, and he wasn’t about to worry him even more. That didn’t make the elevator ride any less hellish, especially when Flash kept glaring daggers at him.
This time, the elevator stopped at the Avengers’ personal gym.
His class stayed inside the elevator, Tony the only one to actually step out and greet his team. Even though they had known that they’d see their heroes, everyone appeared to be too excited to move.
It wasn’t until FRIDAY had started closing the elevator doors that they all stepped out as fast as they could and gathered around Tony like the ducklings the billionaire liked to compare them to.
“Well! I’m pretty sure you know who they are, you’re free to pester them with questions! And don’t worry, they don’t bite,” he dramatically scratched his chin, “wait, Natasha does bite, but you’re safe with the others!”
His classmates made their way to the Avengers, slowly at first. Then, Clint made a joke and that was all it took before the heroes found themselves answering questions left and right.
Peter stayed by his dad.
Tony hugged him with one arm, both for affection and to ensure that he wouldn’t go say hi to the floor.
“FRIDAY said you were sick, buddy. Why didn’t you stay in bed?”
The spiderling shook his head, before wincing as his headache just got worse.
“I wanted to come. They didn’t believe in my internship, and I really wanted to show Ned and MJ around. Besides, I felt fine yesterday…”
“You should have at least eaten breakfast. You know your spidey metabolism needs fuel.”
Peter made a face.
“I… couldn’t really stomach anything. I mean, I haven’t thrown up yet, but that’s turning out to be a very real possibility.”
His dad frowned.
“When your team goes home I’m taking you down to the medbay, you haven’t been sick since the spider bite and a little stomach bug should’ve been nothing for your healing.”
Peter opened his mouth to answer, but someone yelling his name took his attention elsewhere.
“Pete! We’re gonna do a quick demonstration. Wanna spar?”
Uh, no thanks. He would definitely pass out if he did that.
Thankfully, his dad knew that too.
“Not today, Legolas! Gotta take the ducklings to lunch. Be a responsible tour guide and all that.  Midtown! Follow me to the cafeteria, please!”
His classmates waved at the Avengers, taking some last-minute selfies and shaking their hands.
Peter resigned himself to another ride in the elevator.
::
Peter loved the cafeteria. Almost every day, he’d come down here for a quick snack on his way to help in whatever lab crossed him first, and Martha –the nice lady that sold ice cream– always saved him a scoop or four for when he got out of training. The vendors were really nice, and it was a common floor for all the scientists to have a good time (and a good meal).
But today? Today the mix of different smells and the chatter that could be heard through the whole floor made him want to run to his room and hide under the covers.
“Well, I’ll be checking some stuff on the upper floors while you get something in your stomachs. I trust your teacher to take care of you, but there’s still an AI watching over you at all times. Something happens, you tell her or someone from the staff, capiche?”
Everyone nodded, eagerly looking around the cafeteria and planning their meal.
“Good! Then I’ll leave you be, see you in 45 minutes, kiddies!”
And with that, he was gone, swallowed by the elevator.
The team pushed some tables together and decided that they’d be eating together. It wasn’t different from their breakfasts at the hotel they stayed at for the duration of the Nationals. In fact, it was oddly familiar.
But Peter wasn’t paying much attention.
He was definitely feeling worse after a day of running around in the Tower. The dizziness had definitely gotten worse, as had his nausea. It was horrible.
His headache was no better. The lights hanging from the ceiling were blinding to his sight, and fireworks danced behind his eyelids whenever he blinked. It had extended from the back of his head to his temples, and now even his ears hurt.
So Peter took to leaning on Ned while MJ let him borrow her sweater again, using it as a pillow (again) and draping one of the sleeves over his eyes in hopes of drowning out the light.
Mr. Harrington was definitely worried by now, as was the rest of his team. Not even Flash had made a comment. A quick peek under the sweater’s sleeve told him it was because his bully was not at the table.
It wasn’t until they all started to bring out their lunches that hell broke loose. Someone (probably Jason) had brought hard-boiled eggs, and the second the smell hit Peter’s nose, he jumped out of his chair and made a run to the bathroom, just in time to toss his cookies in one of the vacant stalls.
His stomach rolled and Peter felt oddly reminiscent of the time he had been stabbed on the abdomen last month. The pain certainly was familiar.
It felt as if an eternity passed before he was finally done, even though he hadn’t even had breakfast to begin with.
Someone knocked on his stall.
“Hey, Parker! You okay in there?”
Peter kicked the door open as best as he could when he recognized Flash’s voice. It wasn’t ideal, but he didn’t think that he’d be able to stand up on his own.
His bully grasped him by the shoulders, flushing the toilet as an afterthought, and helped him off the floor slowly.
“Answer the question, Penis. You okay?”
Awww, would you look at that? He did care.
“Just peachy.” He said, before a wave of dizziness made itself known and he promptly passed out.
“Parker? Hey, Parker! Who gave you the right to pass out?!”
Flash was freaking out, but he knew that Peter needed help, even if he was the worst when it came to actually doing something for Penis Parker.
He carefully adjusted his grip on the smaller boy, and prepared to lift him princess-style so that they could get out of that bathroom as soon as possible. He was expecting his classmate to be a little heavy, what with the muscle he had suddenly grown over the summer four years ago.
He wasn’t expecting him to be as light as a feather.
“Mr. Harrington! Mr. Harrington!” Flash yelled as he came out of the bathroom holding onto Peter.
“Flash what did you do?” Ned asked, as he hovered over his best friend, who was slowly waking up.
“He didn’ do nothin’. Hel’ed me…”
Mr. Harrington took Peter from Flash and helped him sit in one of the benches where they had been having lunch.
“Peter? What happened? Can you hear me? How many fingers am I holding up?”
Just as Peter was about to answer (and he was seeing 7 fingers in only one hand, so that probably wasn’t good), his father stepped out of the elevator and ran to where the team was.
“Pete! What happened?!”
Peter groaned, making grabby hands at MJ’s sweater to block out the light and the sound of people talking all at once.
“M’fineee. Just lost a battle with some eggs…”
Tony laughed, if only to reign in his panic.
“Nope, that’s it. We’re making a trip to the medbay. C’mon Midtown, you’re getting to know where all the Avengers get patched up when they do something stupid.”
He went to pick his son up, and frowned.
Peter made it a habit to fall asleep on movie night, and Tony often had to carry him back to bed. So yeah, he knew that Peter was pretty heavy with all the muscle he packed.
He wasn’t used to carrying his son as easily as he had done when Peter was a kid.
::
Peter had been four years old when he first came to live with Tony.
The inventor had learned pretty quickly that his son was not what most physicians would call “healthy”.  His little boy carried an inhaler around as if it was a necklace, and he knew exactly what medicine Tony should give him when he had a cough.
Peter would frown at the food Tony would give him if it had any kind of seafood or citrus until his dad learned all his food allergies.
His chubby hands would play with LEGOs in the living room, and the baseball and the glove Tony had bought were left forgotten in the back of a closet.
Still, the mechanic had learned to play with Peter and his LEGOs, with his coloring books and with his chemistry set. He learned that Peter didn’t like airplanes, and preferred his food to come to his mouth via a choo choo train.
He also learned that when Peter was sick, reading him stories about Tesla and Einstein would put him right to sleep. That the glow in the dark stars on his ceiling had to be blue and not green, because green gave his kid headaches. That Peter’s Captain America onesie was his favorite and he only wore it after a particularly rough night when his coughing fits wouldn’t let him sleep.
He learned never to watch Bambi or the Lion King when they had a movie night, and that Mulan would put his kid right to sleep.
Still, none of those had worked the night Peter turned five years old.
He remembered it clearly. That night, Rhodey had come to visit his nephew for his birthday, and they had had chocolate cake and a strawberry milkshake for dinner. His kid hadn’t been feeling well that week, so Tony and Rhodes had thought it was for the best to distract him with cake and toy trains and a Disney movie. They had even let him wear his Captain America onesie and have dinner on the couch.
But that night, Peter had woken up his daddy, asking JARVIS to bring him to his room because he wasn’t feeling well. Tony had run to his baby’s room and there he was, tears staining his face and a sweaty forehead that could only mean a fever.
He had gotten Peter out of his onesie, and let him hug the platypus plushie Rhodey had given him for his birthday while he went looking in the medicine cabinet for anything that would help with his fever.
Peter had ended up going back to sleep clutching his plushie in one hand and his dad’s shirt on the other.
It hadn’t lasted through the night, and he had woken up again crying about how his head hurt, and to make it stop, daddy! Hurt bad!
His fever wasn’t going down, and Peter wasn’t keeping down any medicine. His coughs had gotten worse and at one point he had needed to use his inhaler.
That night, Tony panicked.
He couldn’t take his kid to urgent care, or he’d risk paparazzi knowing that he had a son the minute they stepped inside a hospital.
But his baby was crying, and no amount of stories about the theory of relativity were making him feel better.
So Tony held his baby in his arms (and he was so so light) and sat down on the rocking chair Rhodey had given him as a joke. And he sang to his son. He sang every single lullaby in Italian he could remember from when he was a kid himself; and when he ran out of lullabies, he sang Disney songs until Peter finally went to sleep.
“You’re going to be fine, tesoro, you’re going to be just fine. Daddy’s here.”
::
Peter was not happy at being carried princess-style, and he frowned at his father all the way to the medbay. But Tony didn’t seem to notice, too far gone inside his mind.
Bruce was waiting for them when they got to the medbay, and helped Peter sit down on the table Dr. Cho used to examine him whenever he did something dumb on patrol.
Ned and MJ (and surprisingly, Flash) were right by his side while Bruce went through a routine examination on his nephew. MJ was showing him the sketches she had made of him during the day, and even Peter had to laugh at some of the faces he made when he was sick.
“With all due respect, Mr. Stark-” Mr. Harrington said, wringing his hands nervously, “-I’m required to send Peter to the hospital, or at the very least back home where a guardian can be informed…”
Tony waved him off, though not unkindly.
“It’s fine, teach. Peter’s home, and I’m his dad. You don’t have to worry about school policies.”
You could have heard a pin drop in the room.
Then, Peter groaned, shaking his head.
“I can’t believe you actually told them.”
::
At Tony’s request, the Avengers had come down to the medbay to –according to Tony– entertain their guests until it was time to go home. He bet that the fact that their new tour guides were the Avengers would give those teenagers and their teacher bragging rights for years to come.
Bruce and Tony stayed with Peter while they ran some tests, and Tony had been right in his assumptions. This was no stomach bug.
Someone had actually tried to poison his son.
And he still wasn’t out of the woods.
That evening, after his team had left the Tower and had made him promise that he’d keep them updated in the group chat, Tony went to lay down next to his kid.
Peter had been on and off, waking up from his naps feeling worse and worse until he eventually had to toss his cookies again, before going right back to sleep.
He didn’t wake up until the next morning.
And when he opened his eyes, he saw his dad right beside him, playing with his curls and watching Mulan on his phone.
Peter smiled at him, too out of it to really worry about the fact that he was still sick and that his very scary aunt and uncles were hunting down the guy that had poisoned him two days ago on patrol.
He was, however, very preoccupied by the sight of a familiar hoodie folded neatly at his feet. It smelled like fabric softener and soap, very different from the cologne and motor oil that Peter associated with his dad.
It occurred to him that they had probably needed to wash his hoodie.
So he nudged his dad’s shoulder with his head, and adjusted himself so he could watch Mulan for as long as he could stay awake (which wasn’t very long seeing that his dad was still playing with his hair).
Finally, seconds before he went into dreamland, he murmured into his father’s neck.
“Hey, dad? ‘m sorry ‘bout your hoodie…”
He fell asleep to captain Lee Shang singing I’ll Make a Man Out of You; his dad’s laughter echoing on his ears.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next day Loki came and tapped on my little corner with enthusiasm.
Guess what I brought!
I hope, for your sake, that you aren't holding something up for me to see, 'cuz that would be embarrassing since I can't see it.
Loki started to sputter a little bit, I'm not an idiot Y/n, honestly!
Just making sure.
He projected an image to me unexpectedly, which gave me a headache momentarily since I was still focusing my sight through my eyes. It was a little blurry while I tried to focus on it and not the smudged splotch of color on the floor the same color as my face and hair. Luckily it didn't take me long to recognize what he was showing me.
My phone? Don't tell me you've been keeping up with my Tumblr... Do you even know what that is?
You wound me.
I snickered at him.
No, I did not go through your social media. Rather, I thought you would enjoy listening to your playlist.
A feeling that can only be attributed to a favorite song washed over me at the thought of it. The radio that Loki had put on in the down-time was great and all, but nothing could compare to the playlist you made with your heart and your own hands.
I spoke quietly, Yes, I would like that. I would like that very much.
He wordlessly connected my phone to the speakers and put it on shuffle. I instantly recognized the song, but I had to wrack my mind for the name.
Out here in the fields I fight for my meals I get my back into my living I don't need to fight To prove I'm right I don't need to be forgiven
I smiled and hummed along, occasionally mumbling a line or two when it came to me. Loki stayed silent, but I could tell he was listening in contentment.
Don't cry Don't raise your eye It's only teenage wasteland
I just let the music surround me in a way I haven't felt in years. I almost forgot the situation I was in.
Sally take my hand We'll travel south cross land Put out the fire And don't look past my shoulder The exodus is here The happy ones are near Let's get together, before we get much older
It was going by so fast, but at the same time, time seemed to slow.
Teenage wasteland It's only teenage wasteland Teenage wasteland Oh yeah, teenage wasteland They're all wasted!
I could feel the end of the song coming all too soon and I still couldn't remember the name of the song, or even the artist. I became angry, at myself, Henry, the world, everything! I was angry that this was so sad.
I wanted to cry. I wanted to sob and to scream. Why couldn't I remember? Why couldn't I remember something I loved so much? It hurt. It hurt so damn much that I slammed myself against the wall that's caused me so much grief. The barrier held strong, it was as if I was running into a brick wall.
That's when Loki stepped in. He wrapped his magic around me, to keep me still, to calm me.
Hey hey, it's okay, you're okay. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you.
I noticed he had stopped the music from continuing to the next song. I took a moment to calm myself, No, you didn't upset me, Loki. It's just... I... If I'm forgetting things that I loved so much, what else am I going to lose? What else have I already lost?
Loki paused for a second, Well, that's what I'm here for. We can work together to get you better alright? I can help you remember.
I sighed, Okay... What was that song? It hurt to ask, but what else was I supposed to do?
Baba O'Riley by The Who
I let myself soak in the name... It sounded so familiar. Maybe I felt more whole for a moment. Maybe I just identified another hole. Whatever the feeling was, it was a comforting discomfort that I wasn't sure I wanted to feel again, but I knew I needed it.
So that was what we did. For days Loki would come and play songs from my playlist. He would tell me the ones I couldn't remember and celebrate the ones that I did. It was a slow and embarrassing process, but I could tell I was making progress. Loki was being so supportive... Almost too supportive.
Loki?
Yes, my dear?
Why... Why are you being so nice to me? I mean, I appreciate it very much, but we weren't really on the best of terms when I disappeared.
We weren't on the worst, though.
He made me chuckle, but still.
He sighed, I suppose I found you intriguing...
Past tense? I couldn't help but poke fun.
He chose to ignore me, But then you disappeared and I never got to study you.
I'm flattered.
You should be.
There was a comfortable pause before I asked another question that's been on my mind, Loki?
Yes?
Why has no one come to visit me?
There was a short pause that I quickly filled.
I mean, I know I can't answer them back if they try to talk to me, but people visit and talk to comatose patients. We don't even know if they can hear them, but I can hear them... and... I trailed of pathetically. I really shouldn't be upset, this is more than I ever let myself hope for. Isn't it great to be so selfish?
It's nothing of your doing Y/n. Director Fury wishes for me to be your only contact until he begins the reports. They will all be in attendance then.
That's... That's good to hear.
He hummed in response and we moved on to other topics.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The day came when I was supposed to give my report. I still had no idea how this was going to work, but I trusted them to come up with some sort of solution. I waited patiently for them to arrive, but it seemed to be taking forever. The room was deadly silent for what must have been hours. There wasn't a voice or a footstep that broke it.
Y/n, are you ready?
Loki startled me with a sudden address.
Is everyone here already? I thought I would have heard Thor's lumbering footsteps!
He didn't even chuckle when he began to explain how it was going to work, No, we are in a nearby room as to limit the Queen from hearing anything.
I found it interesting that he called Noxy the Queen. When talking to me he usually called her Noxy. It occurred to me that he might be speaking out loud for everyone else's benefit.
I will hold an illusion of you to speak through. You alone will be able to hear and see the conversation. The illusion will mimic your motions and intentions that you portray. Do you understand?
Yes, Loki.
It felt like a tether was attached to me, the other end I didn't know, but I assumed it was the "control cable" for the illusion. There was a moment where nothing happened, but then I screamed.
My mind couldn't decide on what picture to focus on and it caused me an immense amount of pain. It kept flickering back and forth between the white floor of my cell and a blurry group of people in front of me. I clutched in upon myself to try and block off the instant migraine. I was surprised to hear my own voice saying, "Turn it off! Turn it off!"
Just as suddenly as it happened, it stopped.
Are you okay? Loki sounded worried.
Instead of answering his question I told him what had to change, I can't do the vision. It just... hurts.
Of course.
This time the tether attached seemed smaller, and after a moment I could hear the sounds of people idling. The shuffle of feet, the quiet breathing. It was relaxing. Nobody actually spoke for a while, so I had to break the ice, "Hi."
"Agent L/n."
It was a little hard to decipher voices with the combination of not being able to see and the amount of time that's past since hearing them, so I spoke tentatively, "Director Fury?"
"Correct. Do you understand that you are here to give a report so that we, Shield and the Avengers, may come to know of the nature of your capture so that we may prevent future incidents?"
"Yes, sir." Before Nick could continue I asked, "May I ask who is here since I cannot see?"
"In order to not overwhelm you the only ones here are myself and the members of the Avengers who you know."
I nodded, or felt like nodding.
Nick cleared his throat, "Alright, is there anyone who would like confirmation that who we are talking to is indeed Agent Y/n L/n?"
There was silence. It stretched out awkwardly, "Is anyone raising their hand? Loki are they raising their hands?"
"Ye-"
"NO!"
"So do you guys need confirmation or not?"
I could hear a number of voices mumble out a, "Yes, we would appreciate it."
I chuckled a little awkwardly, "Uh, was there a code word that I was supposed to remember? Cuz I very much do not remember it if there was."
"Y/n would never forget a code word!"
I was offended, "Fucking hell, Clint!"
He gasped, "She would never talk to me that way!"
"Woah, woah!" Who I thought was Tony cut in, "First off, Clint? You don't have any code words!"
He grumbled in response.
"And two, Y/n your filter is gone."
I smiled, "Damn straight."
Tony sighed, "Okay, so we all want confirmation that is actually you, so lets have you tell us something only we would know."
I took a moment to think it over, "Do you guys remember when..." I kinda chuckled at the memory, "When I video called you when I knew you had recently got off of a mission and had no plans and I asked you guys over for a movie night at my apartment?" It was a fond, if not totally embarressing memory. "Steve awkwardly declined for everyone, saying that you had a lot of work to do after the mission. I was totally disappointed, but hung up before anyone else could say anything or show that I was disappointed. I mean, I already had the movie picked out, popcorn popped, a number of snacks set out, and I even rearranged my living area to fit everyone in it!" I wished I could see their  faces, see the recognition, maybe their smiles.
"But, over the next hour, every single one of you came over, not together, mind you! Clint and Natasha first, then Tony, surprised he wasn't fashionably late, Thor and Bruce with Loki dragging behind, and then Steve, with a slightly red face." I surprised myself in remembering those details.
I, my illusion, was probably smiling from ear to ear while recanting the story, "We watched Ghost Rider and mocked how totally cheezy it was and yelled at the screen when the 'monster' scene came on." I huffed with amusement, "That was a very good memory I liked to look back on..."
I didn't hear anyone say anything or even the shuffling of feet, "Uh, hello? Does anyone need a personal story? A reassuring joke? I hope not, because I very much did not have access to the internet."
The silence wasn't even broke with a chuckle. I began to grow scared. Did they leave? Do they not believe me? I'm sure my smile cracked.
"I believe a personal story or two could be beneficial to their conscience, Y/n." Loki's voice was soft, but rigid.
I made a soft popping noise with my tongue as I thought about who I could talk about first. This was a cool illusion to make a subconscious sound. I came to a stop when I just decided to talk about what first came to mind for each of them, "Natasha, I remember when you first walked in the door of my apartment for that movie night, you pulled me aside and said some very comforting things to me as well as some choice words for others." I laughed, "and I swore that those things would stay between us, so I am going to keep it that way."
That got the ball rolling so I just started to pour out everything, "Clint, when I first met you, you could have showed off to impress me, but instead you used your skills to make me smile. I- I really appreciated that, and that might have impressed me even more than you hitting every bullseye."
I was glad I wasn't actually talking because this was a lot of talking, "Thor." I grew serious, "I really appreciate you sharing your food with me that one time. And all the other times you don't know about."
I heard a quick inhale of air and I took that as a signal to move on, "Tony, the care you took with me, guiding me through breathing exercises, taking me to the infirmary after... the Loki incident. I'm forever grateful you were able to show that to me."
"I remember one mission where there was a lot of chemical and radiation components that needed to be understood. Unfortunately, I am not that proficient in that area, but fortunately I was able to approach Bruce. He walked me through everything I needed to know for that mission even late into the night in his lab," I smiled.
"And finally Steve." I willed my illusion to look him in the eyes. I hoped that's how it worked and hoped that Loki would make it happen. "This is very important. I absolutely hate running with you."
At this point the silence was beyond unnerving. "So either nobody likes me enough to talk while I'm blind, Clint is signing at me like an idiot, or everyone just left and Loki is keeping the illusion up for no other reason than his enjoyment. I can see you doing that Loki, I know you can hear me."
There were a few snorts around me before Natasha spoke up, "Uh, Clint just said that you'll get along with Sam just fine."
"I have literally no idea who that is, but I'll take that as a good sign."
"Hey," Tony cut off the laughing, "we didn't hear a story about tikes turtle over there."
There was a beat of silence.
"Wha--who?"
"Yeah, not my best idea. Loki. We haven't heard a story about Loki."
Loki quickly cut in, "I don't believe that will be neces-"
"I must give the people what they want!"
"You really don't."
I started anyway, "My fondest memory of the jolly green giant would be when I was high off of cold medicine and pulled some wicked ninja moves to steal chocolate from our dear Rapunzel while crying over rom-coms. He nearly blew my cover. Happy?"
There were a few "Very"s thrown back my way before Nick had had enough.
"Alright, is everyone convinced that this is indeed Y/n?"
"Yes."
Nick cleared his throat, "Okay, so Agent L/n, you know how this works. According to our calculations, you were a prisoner for two years before you emerged as the asset we know as Queen, correct?"
"Uh, sure."
"Agent L/n..."
I sighed, "I trust your calculations, sir, as I had no sense of time while in captivity. I could have been in there anywhere from six months to six years and I wouldn't have been the wiser."
Nick grunted, "What exactly did they do to you in those two years?"
I mentally straightened my shoulders in preparation of the story I was about to tell. I guess I should have known, I guess I should have been ready. But here I was, trying to control my thoughts.
"The majority of those two years were spent doing two things: being locked in a cell made of concrete walls, and being shoved into rooms with another prisoner. There were two rules when we were put in that room: don't start before they told us, and... and I quote: 'fight like your life depends on it, because it does.'" I took a moment to steady myself, "like a gladiator arena, it was a fight to the death, with our bare hands, only one of us would leave the room alive."
"So we can safely assume you won every round?" I wasn't sure which of the guys had spoke since I wasn't really paying attention.
I chuckled darkly, "That's the thing... My honest answer would be a no. I got beat to a pulp, but they stopped my opponent before he could kill me. My first fight... I lost."
Maybe that's what made it that much worse. I was saved to commit worse atrocities.
"So yeah, between the experiments, the locking me away in the latter part of it, and the immense amount of pain, I lied in a small cell with a roommate I called my friend, and killed other prisoners to weed out the weak ones for hell knows what."
I didn't have anything else to say about the matter so I stayed quiet until Nick was prepared with his next question.
"There was another agent who went missing the same mission that you did: Ichabod Laime. Are you aware of his status?"
"Yes, he is dead."
"What was your relationship with Agent Laime?"
"I would have called him my friend."
"How do you know he's dead?"
Before I could answer Steve mumbled, "Shouldn't you have asked that question before?"
"Don't test me Rogers!" Nick snapped at him roughly.
"Easy, sir. I'm the one who killed him."
There was a quiet sputtering going on around me.
Nick recovered enough to ask, "Did they force you to?"
I left a pause where I would have breathed, "No, I killed him of my own free will."
I felt the tether flicker and pull a little bit. It confused me. It felt like something was missing, or different all of the sudden.
It didn't help that I couldn't see anything. I thought I heard whispering in the room. Fuck me for telling the truth I guess. I was going to be locked up forever.
"Let's call it a day. We'll continue this another time Agent L/n." Nick sounded almost rushed.
Before I could respond the tether was cut and I was left in silence, not even left with a goodbye.

Warnings: vulgar language, mention of drinking and hangovers, insecurity.
Word Count: approx. 2100
A/N: Hello lovelies!  Sorry it has been a little since I last posted, life has been crazy and my schoolwork is getting intense again. This is chapter three, and there will be one or two more parts to come! Feedback is always welcome! I hope you everyone is staying safe and doing well. 💕
Previous Chapter
You emerged from your bed quite late the next day, thankfully Tony didn’t plan anything early, knowing that everyone was probably going to have a hard time getting out of bed after the party. Well everyone, besides the two super soldiers, who were returning from their run when you finally decided to leave your bed. Once Bucky saw you, he froze, from your vacant look, and you reaching for the aspirin in your communal kitchen area, he didn’t feel like it was the right time to talk to you about what he overheard. But now he had no idea how to act around you, he now knows that he didn’t need to keep his distance from you. He is still having a hard time processing the fact that you like him back, it was the furthest thing from how he assumed you felt about him. But even now, your awkwardness around him finally makes sense. He can see that even when you have maintained physical distance from him, you are always drawn to him, always looking at him, even if you are unsure of what to say. He actually thought it was funny that he fell for the woman that was probably even worse at flirting than he was. Sure, before he became the Winter Soldier, he was great with women, he had a level of confidence he no longer possessed. It’s hard to flirt with people when you are having a hard time accepting that you are deserving of love. But his therapist, and Steve, and sometimes even Sam when he accidently slips up from his constant façade of annoyance and reveals that he does care about Bucky more than he lets on, all tell him he is deserving of love, and he wants desperately to believe that’s true, and you surprisingly seem to agree, and god, he never wanted to let you go now that he has found you. He has a slight smile on his face as he watches you grab cereal from the cabinet, flinching at the loud noise as the door slams shut. You are adorable, even when you are hungover, and he hopes that when he finally talks to you, you won’t run. He fears that if he confronts you, you might feel differently than you did when you were drunk, or suddenly when you have to face the reality of your feelings, you will decide he isn’t worth it.
Despite the haze you seemed to be viewing life in, you still felt Bucky’s presence in a way he hasn’t allowed in weeks. He’s actually tolerating being in the same room as you, and you can’t help but have a sliver of hope creep into your heart that maybe you could mend things with him. You decide to push your luck and sit with Bucky and Steve at the table as all of you eat your breakfast.
“Did you have a good time at the party last night?” Bucky bravely asks, he needed, well maybe just desperately, wanted to talk to you, and he didn’t know what to say that wouldn’t be weird, so eventually he just came out with a question.
You looked up at him in shock, so now, not only is he letting you get close to him again, but now he’s talking to you. For a second you wonder if this is still some drunken dream and you haven’t even left your bed yet, but your migraine is telling you otherwise. “Umm,” you cleared your throat, a little nervous to reply, “it was good, but I typically don’t drink like that, and now I’m really regretting it.”
He chuckled slightly, “I understand the feeling, the first time I had the liquor Thor brought I decided, I may be a super soldier, but the gods can keep their liquor, I’ll take being sober any day over that hangover.”
Despite the nerves you still felt, you were hanging off his every word. Feeling at home in his voice, you wished he’d never stop speaking.
“Did you guys used to drink a lot when you were younger?”
“Ha, it mainly consisted of Bucky dragging me to a bar, only for them to let him in, and telling me that I looked too young.” Steve replies with an eye roll.
“You abandoned your friend?” You asked Bucky in mock offense.
“No, most of the time I’d give up on the bar and just buy some alcohol and Steve and I would go to a park and just have a good time.”
“Yeah sure, when there wasn’t a pretty dame you were supposed to be meeting at the bar.” Steve retorts.
“Oh Steve, is that jealousy in your voice.” Bucky jokes back.
“Jerk.” Steve replies back with a smile as he nudges Bucky on the shoulder.
“What about you, y/n, were you a partier in college?” Bucky asks you
“Yeah right, I was too invested in my schoolwork to jeopardize it by partying until 4am, so instead I just stayed up until 4am reading romance novels.” You reply with a laugh.
Every time you spoke Bucky was reminded of how much he admired you. He loved your passion in your work, but also the way that you never try to appear better than anyone. Even though at the end of the day he was convince he couldn’t find anyone better.
You finished your breakfast but continued to sit there with Bucky and Steve talking about anything that came to mind. Both Bucky and you didn’t want to stop talking to each-other, even if you didn’t know that both of you felt the same, and Steve was just happy that it seemed like you both were getting closer to each other, and would hopefully tell each other how you felt soon.
After you all finished, the team had training, and you went to your office to do some more research. You were getting closer to finding Death Oath, and it seemed that both things with Bucky and your research seemed to be taking a turn for the better, and you started to think there might be some magic behind a Stark party. After working all day, the team was getting together again for dinner. You sat across from Bucky, feeling bolder after your morning talking to him. You talked with the team throughout dinner, but Bucky kept asking you questions, or trying to make you laugh, and your hangover and groggy mood from this morning seemed like a distant memory. After dinner was over you were about to head back to your room when Bucky stopped you. “Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to go up to the roof with me, I wanted to talk to you.” He felt like he was going to vomit at any minute he was so nervous.
“Of course, let me grab a sweater.”
“Okay, I’ll meet you up there.”
“Okay.” you reply with a smile that you slightly had to force. You were unsure of what Bucky wanted to talk to you about, but you couldn’t help but be afraid it was something bad. Sure, he didn’t seem like it was a bad thing when he asked you, but you just hoped that the amazing day you had wouldn’t be ruined. You quickly grabbed a sweater and made your way up the elevator, feeling your hands shake slightly from nerves as you pushed the elevator button. When you reached the roof, your breath was taken away as you saw Bucky standing looking up at the stars as the moonlight reflected off his face. You walked up to him, your hands crossed, hoping he would think it was because of the chill in the air, not your nerves.
“So, what’s up?”
He looks at you, with an expression you can’t discern. “I heard you talking to Wanda last night about me on your way to your room.”
In that moment you felt as if the stars crashed around you. Sure, you were drunk last night, but you still remember every detail, and you definitely remember the conversation with Wanda. “Oh.” You squeak out.
Bucky saw the sadness on your face, and the way that you divert your eyes, and he started feeling more nervous that this conversation wouldn’t have the happy resolution he had hoped for. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to eavesdrop, I was just about to hop on the elevator myself and then I had heard you. I guess I was just wondering, if you still feel the way you said you did?”
And suddenly today made sense to you, or so you thought. He must have pitied your feelings for him, after he has outright shown how not interested he was in you, and the last thing you wanted from him was pity. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make this awkward for you. I didn’t plan on saying anything about it because you’ve made it very clear in the past few weeks that my feelings weren’t returned. I don’t expect anything from you Bucky, so don’t worry about treating me differently because you know that I have a crush on you. I don’t need your pity, and I don’t want that from you. I won’t be offended if you go back to ignoring me, I can keep our relationship professional, I just hope you will be able to forgive my feelings and still be able to work with me when we need to.” You were wringing your hands in a desperate attempt to distract your tears from falling, you felt humiliated in this moment, you never wanted to look desperate for someone’s attention when they so obviously didn’t want to give it in the first place.
“I’m not sure if I’ll be able to keep things professional though.” If you had looked up, maybe you would have understood what his words meant from the smile on his face, but the words translated to the opposite of their intention, and it felt as if your heart stopped beating. Your day really was ruined in the worst way possible.
“Oh, okay, look, I can leave if you want. I’ll go back home. I can just send Tony whatever- “
He cut off your words by grabbing your hands that were turning red from your grip. This caught your attention, and you finally looked into his eyes again.
“Shit, I’m sorry, I’m not good at this, I guess. I meant that I don’t want our relationship to just be professional. I like you too.”
You were astounded, but you still were afraid of getting your hopes up. “But… but then why did you ignore me for so long.”
“I was being an idiot. I took your nerves around me to mean that you disliked me, and instead of talking to you about it I just assumed the worst.”
Despite feeling bad for making him worry, you found it amusing that you both seemed so bad at expressing your feelings. “I’m sorry for being awkward, I have a tendency to do that around people I find attractive.” You say with a slight smile and blush forming on your face.
“You don’t have to apologize, but since we are doing that, I should apologize too for avoiding you and making you feel like I didn’t like you.”
You laughed at that, though you both were apologizing, you couldn’t help the relief you both felt that your emotions were returned, and your previous assumptions were misinformed. “I love your laugh.” He says to you, finally getting to speak the thing he has been wanting to say for weeks. You cupped your hand around his cheek as your thumb brushed against his lips. “And I love your smile.” You return to him.
“Can I kiss you.” He asks in almost a whisper.
“Please do.” You reply and then within moments you feel his lips softly touch yours, the kiss starts off gentle, but slowly your desire for each other that you have both been suppressing for weeks turns the kiss into something passionate and intense. He wraps his arms around you and pulls you closer.
Finally, when you break away from the kiss, you bury your face into his chest, and you are in danger of falling in love with the comfort of just being held in his arms brings. You both stand there for a moment in silence holding each other, until Bucky finally breaks the silence, “Steve is going to be so happy when I tell him, he’s been telling me to talk to you for weeks.”
“Trust me, Wanda might be happier.”
He laughs along with you. “You may be right, but no one is happier than I am.”
“I might have to challenge you on that.” You say as you smile up at him.
“I might have done this out of order, but will you go on a date with me doll?”
“Only if you promise to kiss me again on the date.”
“Oh doll,” he says shaking his head, “just say the word.”

Knife Brothers #1
Summary: What if Thor handed Loki to Hydra? What if Loki, with his all rage, decided to ruin the organisation for disrespecting him? What if he freed Bucky at the process? What if they became friends?
Warnings: graphic descriptions of homicide
Word count: 2380
A/N: EDIT: I WILL ONLY TAG YOU IF YOU ASK FOR IT IN A TAG LIST POST LINKED BELOW
The idea is from HERE, I did as I promised and wrote it! Have fun, add yourself to the TAG LIST
Tumblr media
There he was again. Captured.
This time it wasn’t his plan at all.
Maybe it was for the better, after all. He would get back home, Odin would shake his finger on him and he would get back to tricking Thor and reading books.
It wasn’t like it was all his fault, after all. Not that anyone would ever listen to what he had to say, of course not, but at least his conscience won’t be that weighed. Loki knew the truth and whose opinion was worth more than his? Even if his back hurt from unconscious guilt, horrible migraine wouldn’t go away despite his magic and eyes wouldn’t close for long enough to let him sleep.
Maybe back in Asgard, in his own bed in his own home he would finally be able to fall asleep without fear of waking up in the middle of the nightmare his life has been for past few months.
A group of man blocking their way brought him back on Earth.
“May I ask where you’re going?” Asked an elderly man, looking less confident than he probably wanted to, in badly fitted suit and cheap haircut.
“To lunch and then Asgard,” Thor was the one to answer. “I’m sorry, you are?”
“Alexander Pierce,” said Stark. “He’s the man, one of the folks behind Nick Fury.”
So he indeed was an important person, even if his appearance didn’t show it.
“My friends call me Mr. Secretary. I’m gonna have to ask you to turn that prisoned over to me.”
Loki titled his head slightly, in a warning manner. He couldn’t speak, the metal device was efficiently muting every attempt at it. Thor’s back was turned to Loki, he couldn’t see anything his brother was trying to communicate.
No turning prisoners over. This prisoner wishes to go back to Asgard. A minute more on this planet would probably destroy his sanity to the last bits of it.
“Loki will be answering to Odin himself.”
He couldn’t help but to roll his eyes. As if Odin ever did something to actually punish his sons in any matter. It didn’t end well the last time, did it? A little bit of stress and disappointment turned Odin into grieving father, an old man with weak heart who fell asleep.
At least his brother was thinking straight. He was going to take Loki home, where he could finally rest.
“Oh, he’s gonna answer to us. Odin can have what’s left,” Pierce spat out and Loki raised his eyebrow at these bold words. He could wipe them from this reality like the pieces of garbage they were. Odin can have what’s left. Foolish, foolish humans. Thinking they actually can be a threat to a god. “And I’m gonna need that case, that’s been SHIELD property for over seventy years.”
“Hand over the case, Stark.” One of the agents reached for it, but Stark backed out.
“We’re keeping that where we know it’s safe.” He stopped another agent with his hand. “As far as I know, you failed keeping it away from trouble. Now it’s our turn.”
“Stark, don’t cross the line with me–“
“You know what, Stark, after a second thought I think we should hand them at least one thing. Not the tesseract, obviously, but I have a feeling that Loki would have better punishment here than on Asgard,” Thor said, turning to the short man.
Loki almost choked. He couldn’t believe his ears. His own brother was giving him away to strangers who would gladly cut him to pieces just to see if he was made from the same elements as them? It made no sense whatsoever, he must’ve known they were no threat to him and he could destroy them if he pleased… He either had a plan for Loki or was just plain stupid. As far as Loki knew his brother, it was probably the latter.
“Do you think it’s a good idea?” Stark asked, his eyebrows high on his hairline.
It’s horrible idea.
“Loki will learn his lesson and we will have one less trouble to deal with.”
You’re betraying your own brother! Loki wanted to scream. But then, he remembered. Remembered how many times he was a traitor to Thor, the countless times he stabbed him, shifted the blame onto him…
It enlightened him. This oaf was taking his revenge. It wasn’t about the punishment for crimes Loki did on Earth, it was personal. Thor wanted to put Loki in a situation with no clean escape. Well played, brother. He wouldn’t expect him to be able to do such thing, and yet there he was.
“I’m not sure–“
“Well, I’ve decided for you.” Thor reached and pushed Loki’s back, forcing him to take a step in Pierce’s direction.
He sent his brother murderous stare, promising all kinds of tortures he’s going to put Thor through as soon as he breaks free.
They tossed him in a car, as if he was an object, not a god they’re supposed to worship and treasure. He wondered whether he should just deal with the problem right now, kill the agents sitting before him, destroy the car, slap his brother across his face and go back to Asgard, or… have some fun.
He could, after all, use his uncomfortable position for his own amusement. Wouldn’t it be fun to ruin their precious little organisation from the inside, destroy their systems, kill their men? Mischievous smirk crawled on his face, thankfully hidden by the metal piece still covering his face. They will remember him very well.
*
With the same gentleness they tossed him in the car, they dragged him out of it in the middle of a military base. He looked around, searching for any useful information about the place. Escapes, weak spots, amount of men, their weapons. He noticed there were no trainees, a whole lot of soldiers armed to their teeth and about the same amount of scientists.
The silence fell when he walked through the base, curious looks were shot at his direction, and silent whispers didn’t fail to be heard. It was hard for him to decide whether they were sure of their victory or scared to death, they tried very hard not to show emotions in front of Pierce, who however seemed to be too arrogant to even pay attention to his own men.
They dragged him through the corridors and hallways as if they were showing off their success, how the marvellous Alexander Pierce and the SHIELD captured and imprisoned the dangerous God of Mischief himself. A truly heroic achievement.
If only they had any chance to actually threaten him.
He looked around as he moved forward, sending a slender beam of his magic to check behind the closed doors, not finding anything particularly interesting. That is, until they nearly pushed him down the stairs, visibly enjoying treating him like a ragdoll. It was the basement where his magic started to finally sense anything more than just offices and conference halls.
It wasn’t SHIELD’s base. At least not the SHIELD he’s known. Suspicious laboratories, chemicals he could scent on the corridor, sweat, fear, exhaustion, rage. Feelings that were so painfully known to him were hanging in the air.
He wasn’t scared now, no. After what he’s been through he probably lost the ability to feel anything but disappointment and fury. Besides, there was nothing to be afraid of. Humans? These fragile beings he could snap in half with a flick of his fingers? Nothing more than ants under his shoe.
One of the soldiers with useless in fight with Loki rifles opened a metal door, leading to a laboratory. He barely took a step and sensed somebody approach him quickly. He tried to turn, but the chains and surrounding him people prevented him from doing that, and he didn’t want to show his advantage just yet. A needle sunk into his neck, tranquilizer spilled in his veins, but it was too weak to do anything more than just make his fingertips numb for a second of two.
“You were supposed to give him the same you give to the Soldier!” Pierce shouted and Loki couldn’t help but roll his eyes. As if his body was as weak as human’s.
“I did!”
He really did wanted to play for a bit longer with his new friends, but they didn’t seem to enjoy his company too much. He began to freeze the chains and the metal piece on his face, causing everyone to panic.
Really, what did they expect from a god? To be obedient little thing that would follow every order they give? Wrong address.
“Kill him! Kill him!”
He allowed himself another eye roll and broke free from everything that was strangling him.
Bullets flew in his direction, but he stopped them with a single wave of his hand and summoned his daggers. How good it felt to have them back in his hands, fitting like gloves.
One sunk into somebody’s neck, muting every sound of protest.
One he didn’t deliver perfectly and it dived into an eyeball, crimson trail flew from the injured socket.
Another cut in the neck, because that’s the most efficient.
He hit aorta, the blood splattered on his face and stained his clothes.
With annoyance he turned to the last living creature in the room, Pierce crawling to the door, desperately trying to call for help. Loki flicked his fingers and a split second later materialised his clone in front of Pierce.
“Please… Please…” He cried, some of the blood of his men was on his suit.
“Please what?” The clone titled his head and dragged Pierce up by his collar.
“Don’t kill me… I’ll do anything!” He tried to take his hands off of him, but even if it was only a clone, it was still much stronger than Pierce could ever be.
Loki walked to them calmly, the secretary pierced to the wall, writhing and trying to break free, his panic enlarging as he noticed there was not one, but two gods in front of him. Loki’s hand shot to his forehead, his magic wrapping around Pierce’s brain, moulding the memories and knowledge to his liking.
How small were humans’ brains… How little did they fit, how much they hid in the depths of unconsciousness, covered traumas, blurred what’s not frequently used…
Useless memories, useless dreams… That wasn’t what Loki was searching for. He dug deeper, heard a scream of the man held by three arms.
There. Something useful.
Knowledge floated him, blinding him for a quarter of a second before complete darkness muted his magic. He blinked a few times, his vision focused back on Pierce, on his empty eyes and lack of pulse.
“Hmm,” he let him go and watched as his body fell on the floor like a puppet, “looks like I broke something.”
He shrugged and walked to the door, his clone already gone. For a second he just wanted to call Heimdall and go back to Asgard, but what he just saw in Pierce’s head made him change his mind.
Apparently the facility he was at wasn’t SHIELD at all, even if the signs on the walls told him differently. It was just a blind for another organisation called Hydra, created for a drastically different reason.
What if he just… stayed for a while longer, took his sweet revenge for disrespecting him in so many ways? Not that he was so eager to receive punishment from Odin, after all.
He cracked his fingers and got out.
The alarm was already off, someone must’ve heard the shots. That was even better for him. Panic was his feast.
By the time he reached the end of the corridor, his daggers, clothes and skin were soaking in different kinds of blood, his ears full of different kinds of screams.
However the scream he heard next was drastically different from the ones he caused. It was a scream of a man, hidden somewhere near. He searched through Pierce’s memories until he found the right one.
Winter Soldier.
And what if he stole Hydra’s most precious weapon? Fixed him with his magic to make him as normal as he was when they captured him seventy years ago? A smirk showed on his face again. Yes… That was even better than just killing the Soldier.
He took a few turns in the labyrinth of corridors and hallways, using Pierce’s memory of where the man was held. He heard more agents approaching him, he felt their fear faster than he actually saw him and sighed when they thought that bullets would stop him.
He changed into his Jotun form, the disgusting smell of panic filled his lungs when the men before him desperately tried to reload their guns.
Not fast enough.
Frost and ice pierced them in every way possible, the blood that floated from the wounds froze almost instantly, creating diabolical rays, icicles on their frostbitten dead bodies.
He moved them aside with his magic and continued his walk, still in Jotun form. The Soldier screamed again, just in time for Loki’s rapid entrance.
The scientists were surrounding the man, attempting to unleash him from a disturbing chair with many metal pieces, tubing and devices he didn’t even know how could be used.
He titled his head at the scientist’s poor attempts to attack him with scalpel and it quickly changed its path, dipping into the scientist’s throat. While one of them managed to escape, another one was more courageous, jumping at Loki with a needle, probably another tranquilizer. The god reached a hand in his direction, placed it on a heart and froze the organ, another dead body fell before his feet.
Loki walked slowly to the Soldier, who was trying to break free from the binding him metal handcuffs. Without hesitation he pressed his palm onto Soldier’s forehead, cleaning his memories, bringing forward who he was before Hydra, clearing his mind from all the mess the scientists created. When he backed away, the Soldier, James, as he read from his memories, was calm. Loki reached to the metal device in his mouth and took it off before freeing him from the handcuffs.
“What do you say, my friend? Shall we destroy them?”

Sweater Weather Part Five
Here’s the next installment! Enjoy!
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Fem!PottsRelativeReader!
Words: 4,047
WARNING THIS CHAPTER IS PRETTY STEAMY AND IS AS CLOSE TO SMUT AS I’LL BE WRITING FOR THIS FIC. Reader discretion is advised! Warnings/Ratings: R/Possible 18+ For more flirty and sexy! Steve Rogers, mentions of booze, language, a TON of flirting/adult situations. You’ve been warned, the temperature isn’t the only thing hot in this chapter! Reader discretion is advised.
Also AU in the fact NO ONE DIED during Endgame/Steve didn’t go back. Also as much as I adore Morgan Stark, she isn’t around yet. I didn’t know where this would fit timeline wise, so just ignore the timeline. Kay? Cool.
Summary: You’ve just moved to New York after a long 3 year stint travelling the world and helping with various charities, taking a new job with Stark Industries thanks to your cousin Pepper. A trip out to surprise Tony and The Avengers for the weekend turns from good to terrible when the a/c at the compound breaks. How will you beat the heat for the record breaking weekend?
In Y/N Y/L/N format, I don’t own any gifs, outfits or characters except for the Reader and her friend Kate. No beta so I DO own all of my mistakes.
Part Five
The room was cold and the yet the first thing you noticed was the very warm arm that was draped lazily across your waist, and the heat that radiated off of whoever’s broad chest that was behind you. This isn’t right. Your eyes were too heavy with the hangover that was flooding your system to open, but you managed to force your body to turn over. You were pretty sure you were giving molasses on a cold day a run for its money with how slow you shifted your weight, finally facing the sleeping person after what felt like eons. Who the fuck is in my bed?
You swam through your memories from last night, your eyes darting behind your eyelids in panic as you couldn’t remember anything past Thor helping you to your room. Oh shit. Thor is in my bed?! You brought your shaking hands up to his chest. Wait. Hardly any chest hair. Doesn’t Thor have some? You cursed internally, not having seen most of the guys shirtless in well over three years so you couldn’t actually guess. You were going to have to just deal with the budding migraine and open your damn eyes. Sunlight be damned.
You went into cardiac arrest the minute you cracked an eye open to find Steve-Fucking-God-Damn-Captain America-Rogers sleeping peacefully, blissfully unaware of how his flexing arm was pulling you into him closer. This had to be a dream.
“Um….Steve?” You whispered, poking the sleeping soldier hard with your index finger, a small huff from the man who was violating your space being the only response you were given. “Steve, wake the HELL up!” A sleepy smile graced his features, the blonde snuggling you closer and putting both arms around you.
“I’m having that dream again.” Your body fully awoke at his soft statement, and you almost wanted to let him sleep, thinking it really sweet that you had plagued his sleep as much as he had yours over the time you had spent apart. “You’re so perfect. Y/N.” A beam of a smile swept over your features, allowing your hands to remain on his chest and resting your head against it, taking him in and hearing his heartbeat. This felt amazing. It just felt right.
That ended within five seconds of his large hands dropping from your waist, roughly latching onto your ass. The not polite and none too subtle squeeze of his digits into your soft flesh set you promptly the fuck off.
“STEVEN GRANT ROGERS WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK ARE YOU DOING?!” You voice was shrill as you let out your loud screech. Your heart threatened to burst from its cavity as you pushed him hard, the good Captain jerking his eyes awake with a groan and staring down into your pissed off facial features.
“OH SHIT!” Steve launched himself off your bed and onto the hard floor with a loud thud, his eyes adjusting to the room and realizing he was in fact, not in his bedroom like he had thought previously the evening before when he drunkenly forced his way into it. “Y/N I can explain…”
“I DON’T WANT AN EXPLANATION, I WANT YOU OUT!” You cried, grabbing your pillows and throwing them in an assault on the equally hungover, but not quite awake blonde man, him scrambling to his feet and running a hand over his face.
“Doll I didn’t mean…”
“Rogers if you are not out of my room in the next FIVE seconds I will start screaming for Tony.” You handed him the ultimatum with clenched teeth, the target of your frustration chuckling nervously as he gave a timid nod.
“I’ll go but I want you to know something.” Your left eye twitched at the nerve of this man. Coming into YOUR room while you were asleep, and CUDDLING with you?! That you could deal with just fine. Quite willingly, actually. But you would NOT stand for being groped in your bed, no matter how much you had craved his hands on you before. It wasn’t right, and you were not an easy piece of ass. Not to mention the initial shock of him even being in your bed, shirtless, was enough to freak you out. What if you two had done something? Your mind was reeling at the thought. There is no way you would have and not remembered. “I’m not sorry.”
Your ears were burning, much like the rest of your face as you sputtered, “W….What?”
He sighed, blonde hair falling in his face. His blue eyes held a sense of insecurity in them as he stared at your figure, his own breath caught as you appeared to look breathless yourself. “Waking up next to you is something I never thought I’d get to do again, so regardless of the how,” A ghost of a smile appeared on his lips before he forced it away, “I am not going to apologize for finally getting to hold you while we slept in a bed instead of a couch. I won’t apologize for having the best night of sleep I’ve had in years because for a moment it felt right having you in my arms. Not once. Not ever. I’m not sorry.”
You sat, staring at him slack jawed as he turned his back and simply walked out of your room.
Kate’s number was punched into your phone without you looking, you nearly in tears as she happily answered. “Hey beautiful! You finally get some super dick last night?”
“Kate I think I fucked up. Big time.” Your conversation was muted through the door, Steve leaning against it with the weight of the world on his shoulders. He had the night on repeat in his brain, trying to gauge if he had done anything unforgivable in his drunken slumber. Not counting this morning of course. He had honest to god thought it was a dream, believing whole heartedly that your frame laying next to his was nothing more than a ghost. A vision he never got to see come true. He never would have reacted that way if he had known the truth. Steve Rogers was NOT that guy. He could sense the panic in your voice an assumed you had no idea what had happened after you had gotten to your room. Rightly so he’d imagine, with all of the drinks you had consumed. He knew you weren’t really mad at him, but all he could do was give you space. He turned his head to the right, seeing Nat’s door open. A very guilty looking James Barnes emerged, his eyes wide as if Steve had grown a third head when he looked to see the man sharing the hallway with him. Steve grinned, arms crossing over his shoulders.
“Good morning pal. Sleep well?”
“Could ask you the same thing. Punk.” The former man shook his head, his face changing into one of sadness as he tried to make out your nervous and upset sentences from between layers of wood. “Damn. Tell me on the way to breakfast?”
The two began their walk of shame towards the kitchen, filling each other in on what exactly had and hadn’t happened the night prior. You hung up with Kate, dragging your body out of bed, figuring out how (with the help from Kate of course) you would let the man who you had kicked out know you would never be doing that again.
~~After Breakfast~~
“Jesus I thought it was hot before.” Sam muttered, Bucky and Steve both nodding dumbly in agreement as they watched from the large window overlooking the expansive patch of green grass outside the compound. Nat, Pepper, and now Carol Danvers, who had brought a very adorable kid by the name of Peter Parker to the compound to ask Tony some very important questions about upgrades to his suit, had taken to sunbathing. In bikinis.
“You gonna be alright when Y/N comes out in a few?” Bucky side eyed his oldest friend, the man glaring at him as he lightly shoved his non flesh arm. “Or are we gonna have to put you back on ice to cool down?”
“I’ll be just…” His voice died in the back of his throat as he saw your figure step out onto the lawn in your very curve fitting blue bikini.
His ragged breath betrayed him to his two friends, his eyes glued to the sway of your hips barely covered in the fabric. He had to advert his gaze, but only for a second when you bent over at the waist, gladly accepting the glass of sweet tea Pepper held out for you from her chair. The curve of your backside, the very same one he had managed to literally snag handfuls of this morning taunted him as you chose to lay down on your stomach on your own lawn chair, unaware of his heated stare. When Tony lightly misted your beautiful frame with tanning oil, your body jerking at the sudden coolness he felt his throat go bone dry. This just wasn’t fair.
“You were saying Rogers?” Sam chuckled at Steve’s sudden silence, the super soldier hearing nothing but his own blood pounding in his ears. “Can’t say I blame ya though, Princess Peach is looking particularly ripe and juicy today. Right Barnes?”
The brunette gave an appreciative whistle, “Very true Wilson, I agree.” His eyes weren’t looking at you though, they were gawking at a certain red head’s tight black bikini clad body. The three men collectively groaned as Tony ruined their perving session, outing them to the four women, who in turn sat up and stared disappointedly. Your scowl turned into a smirk when the two of you locked eyes. Well shit. “I guess we better start working on our apologies fellas.”
“That requires us to feel guilty first.” Sam shot out, none of them paying attention to Peter as he rushed outside with a new pitcher of tea for the ladies. They didn’t miss Pepper barely missing Tony’s face with her palm when he attempted to untie the string holding up her bikini top on her neck. At least he would be in the dog house with them. “Let’s go, Stark is outnumbered and unarmed, time to level the playing field.”
“What are we playing?” Thor asked, sidling up to the trio who began their trek to the large door that lead outside, Sam starting to take off his shirt.
“We’re setting a thirst trap Blondie, beating the women at their own game.” He tossed his shirt carelessly to the side, the other three quickly understanding and stripping themselves of their tops. “Now act like you aren’t sorry for getting caught Rogers. Y/N has already led on she can barely restrain herself around you. She told me she feels awful for kicking you out of her bed this morning. Just turn on the charm and she’ll be on you like a koala bear.”
“Easy for you to say Sam, you didn’t shamelessly grab her ass this morning because you thought you were dreaming.” The door opened and instantly Steve wanted to crawl back into the less sticky air of the compound living room.
“True, but did she once tell you to stop?” Before he could respond to his friends query, you had taken the chance at straddling your chair, your eyes glazing over at the sight of the shirtless men as they walked, no strutted into your field of vision. Sweet Jesus three years had passed and they only managed to look even more delicious. Aged like fine wine. Steve’s abs had beads of sweat clinging to them, and you would kill to have been the reason for them instead of the hot as balls weather. He was beautiful, strong shoulders and those powerful arms you had woken up in almost daring you to wind yourself back into them. You bit your lower lip as he imitated your previous smirk with ease. This just wasn’t fair.
“Good afternoon ladies, fine weather we’re having huh?” Bucky said cheerfully, the four women sending him a mixture of mock glares and middle fingers. “Wow why the hostility?”
“You were gawking at us earlier, sorry if we aren’t happy to see you.” Carol’s voice was plain and flat, the winter soldier’s smile only widening at Nat’s eyes sweeping over him the same way he had done to her just moment before stepping outside.
“That isn’t stopping you from staring at us now, is it?” He retorted.
Carol huffed, turning to stare at the fabric of her chair instead of the four shirtless gods. Peter looked confused but chose to say nothing. Tony just chuckled at the double standard of it all. You crossed your arms under your chest, trying to keep your knowing smile at bay when Steve’s gaze dropped to your assets as they were gently lifted in your bikini top. “My eyes are up here Cap.”
“Wasn’t looking at em Doll.” Steve offered lowly, your body heating up as he brazenly continued his visual appraisal of your figure. It was like all of the blood in your body had turned into liquid fire, and you barely contained a shiver as he moved to place his hands on either side of your chair, giving you flash backs to when he had dropped you on the couch a couple of nights previously.
“Well at least you’re honest.” You whispered, swallowing as he leaned down, face in front of yours, his expression dark and god damn he was going to pay dearly for all of this teasing later. “Something on your mind Rogers?” You cooed.
“I thought I warned you about your shorts getting any shorter Sweetheart.” His voice had come out as a deep growl, the rumble from his chest making your head spin and you went to grip the metal frame of the chair in response to his seductive statement. With every word you were beginning to kick yourself even harder for not jumping his ass this morning. “Might just have to teach you a lesson about what happens when you don’t listen.”
“That a threat? Or a promise?” You whispered back, eyes never leaving his.
Tony’s gagging sounds in the background reminded the two of you that you weren’t alone.
“Seriously you two, go get a fucking room already. I think m’gonna be sick.” You rolled your eyes at your dramatic cousin in law, Peter stifling a laugh at the absurdity of his mentor’s exaggerated heaving motions. Steve leaned up from the chair, shaking his head and sitting his fine ass down on the grass.
“So, how are we going to beat this heat Mister Stark?” Peter’s question stopped the older man’s performance, Tony standing up straight and looking at his nails.
“Any bright ideas Y/N?”
You already had six by the end of breakfast.
~~Later~~
“Y/N, you are an absolute GENIUS!” Nat exclaimed happily on your right, you looking at your masterpiece of the weekend. A couple of tarps, some bungee cords and a garden hose later you had turned the bed of your truck into a redneck pool.
“Yea Short Stack, amazing job. Now move over.” You stared at your cousin as if he was crazy, Tony taking a small step backwards. “I mean…ladies first?”
“Better. You heard the man, ladies.” The four of you hurriedly climbed into the truck bed, happy sighs of contentment leaving your mouths as you sunk into the cooling liquid. The plastic from the tarp was something you’d have to get used to feeling on your skin, but otherwise you were in complete bliss. The men looked upset as they realized there was really only enough room for one more body. “Now who are we gonna let join us?”
“Well it’s my tarp.” Tony started.
“But you’ve been an asshole all weekend, Stark.” Sam cut in.
“I’d like to nominate myself, as I am the best looking male here.” Bucky added, the women laughing and forcing the man to pout.
“I think you need to get your eyes checked Pal.” Steve said with a roll of his eyes.
“I’m not going to suggest any one of us, it’s entirely up to you goddesses to decide.” Thor smiled warmly at you, your heart melting only slightly. “But I might add that Bruce would not be a suitable option if you want your truck to remain intact.”
“Yea where is Banner?” Nat asked, and everyone in the group looked wrecked with guilt, having not seen the giant man since earlier that morning. “Seriously? How did we lose Bruce?”
“I’m sure he’s somewhere,” You waved away the worry, putting your eyes on Peter who stood staring at his feet. “Parker, you’re in.”
The excited teen didn’t need to be told a second time, scrambling up into the back of the truck with all the gusto raging hormones could buy. He smiled brightly, muttering “Thank you” and “You guys are so nice” repeatedly as he sat on the edge, plunging his feet into the soothing water.
“Fine. I see how it is. We’ll just make our own club and you won’t be invited!” Tony huffed, crossing his arms like a toddler and pouting. It fell on deaf ears, the five of you in the truck paying him no mind as you started splashing at each other. “Let’s go guys.”
The time flew by as you enjoyed your friend’s company, and you quickly had taken a major liking to Peter. He was like a younger brother, super sweet and engaging, and quite the amazing listener. You were a bit put off at first hearing just how he knew the team, feeling the need to protect him as he recalled stories of the battles he had been a part of. Especially during the accords situation. You heart pounded with concern as he told you about Thanos, and all of the features on his suit Tony had made him. You’d never tell but you were more than relieved to hear of the “instant kill” function your cousin had put into it.
“Well we might as well let the guys have a turn now that we’re legit becoming prunes.” Carol conceded, the rest of you agreeing and standing up from the water. It was still stupid hot outside, and truthfully you were feeling a bit bad at not allowing the guys to join you earlier. Or at the very least take turns.
“I’m thirsty, someone come with me to get some drinks from the kitchen?” You inquired, stretching your limbs before beginning your descent out of the back of your vehicle.
“I’ll go with you miss Y/N!” Peter piped up, clamoring after you. You couldn’t help but giggle at his eagerness to accompany you, suspecting that being someone new meant for new conversations. You’d never been happier to have your ear talked off before, but this kid was easily becoming your favorite.
“Huh, that’s weird. They aren’t in here.” Your statement came out confused upon entering the empty living room area, the fans and coolers mostly missing. “Where the hell did they all go?”
“Shh miss Y/N, you hear that?” Your eyes met Peter’s and he motioned towards the kitchen, where you could hear the faint deep laughter of Steve and Thor. Tiptoeing into the large kitchen, you were once again met with an empty room, your expression puzzled when you looked back at the teen who shrugged. “I know we heard…look!”
He moved to look at the small sign that was haphazardly taped to the large door leading to the walk in freezer of the compound, the messy writing no doubt the byproduct of your cousin.
“He-Man-Woman-Hater-Freezer. How original.” You let out an exasperated sigh at the lengths these childish men would go to. “They’ll get over it.”
You threw the door open to see the small group of men sitting among the floor of the freezer, Tony and Sam wearing a few more layers of clothes, the rest of the inhabits still shirtless and looking super pleased with themselves.
“Hey Short Stack can’t you read?!” Tony glared at you, Steve unable to keep his eyes in his head at your figure gracing his presence again. “You aren’t welcome here! Be gone! Before someone drops a house on you!”
“Stop being so damn dramatic Snark, we were just wondering where you went off to. We’ve decided to let you all take a dip in the pool I built, if any of you were still interested.”
“Well thanks but we don’t need your second rate pool…” Tony began, looking betrayed shortly after as Sam and Thor moved to join you. “What the fuck guys?”
“Hey, watch your damn mouth! There’s a teenager here!” You retorted in mock shock, moving to cover Peter’s ears who only laughed lightly. “Did you find Bruce?”
“Obviously not. Do you see him in here?” Sam asked, squeezing past you to take off his clothing in preparation to heading back into the heat wave. “I bet ten bucks he chickened out and ran off to find a/c.”
“You owe me ten bucks then Wilson.” The familiar voice of Bruce Banner boomed through the freezer, and all of your eyes came to rest upon a rather large pile of bagged and frozen vegetables. A large grin broke your face as you noticed an out of place green toe sticking out from under a bag of broccoli. “Also, you guys smell horrible. Make sure you shower before you taint Y/N’s hard work with your nasty man stench.”
“Thank you, but I’m sooooo calling you Jolly Green Giant from now on.” Laughter rose out of you when the man moved the container of carrots off his eyes to narrow them at you, you batting your eyelashes innocently.
“Alright well I don’t know about you suckers but I’m gonna go get in that pool!” Sam brought everyone back to earth, the rest of the guys clearing out and following Parker out to the grounds. Your hand went to grab Steve’s wrist, tugging him in the opposite direction once Tony was out of your sights, dragging the man with you until you were both standing in front of the door that led to your room.
“Somethin on your mind Y/N?” His voice was soft as you tried to steel your nerves, your pulse erratic. You had talked with Kate about what you were going to say when you finally got this beautiful man alone, but now that the moment was here you were back to being the uncertain mess you had been all weekend. “Sweetheart? You’re making me nervous here.”
Seeing the same insecurity in his stunning blue eyes that made your heart hurt when you kicked him out of your room that morning pushed all of your words out the nearest window.
“Oh screw it.” You admonished, quickly putting your arms around his neck and pulling Steve’s lips to yours. He was quick to the jump, arms wrapping around you and walking you backwards until you were against your door, smiling into the kiss and making your knees weak. You pushed all of your emotions into it, the years of longing and passion bruising both of your lips as he deepened the kiss, returning the mutual feelings with a reckless abandon. Kissing him was everything you had been dreaming over the years, his lips pillow soft as they nipped at your bottom lip, tongue darting out to meet yours in a languid dance. It was perfect, he was perfect.
A deep groan fell out from his throat when he detached his mouth from yours, moving along your jaw line and peppering kisses along the column of your neck. “Doll you are going to be the death of me.” You moaned at his hot whisper against your skin, feeling him smirk into your shoulder. You couldn’t agree with him more.
“We don’t have much time before I have to help Pepper with dinner. Maybe an hour, hour and a half tops.” You got out heatedly as he continued his assault on your neck, hands moving across your body and leaving a searing fire in their absence.
“Then let’s not waste anymore time.” He growled, pulling on the handle behind you and pushing you through the door, your giggles fading into moans as he kicked it shut behind him.

Loki x Reader Pt. 2!
@chibi ask and thou shall receive!
You wake a few hours later, Sophie still asleep. Your head was pounding from the crying and lack of sleep. Going into the bathroom, you shower, brush your teeth, and do your hair and makeup.
"Sophie, sweetheart. It's time to wake up. Let's get you something to eat." You say, sitting next to her, wiping her hair back from her face. She groans and rolls over, covering her face with a pillow. You laugh a bit and roll your eyes. "Okay, you have until I get back from making coffee, then you are getting up."
You walk down the hall, and hear Thor's booming voice coming from the kitchen followed by a round of laughter. God, did your head hurt. You took medicine before your shower but the pain was still there. You take a minute to massage your temples before going into the lions den when you feel a cool hand on your back.
"Good morning, (Y/n). I want to apologize for the way our conversation played out yesterday." Loki said. He then paused, noticing your face. "Are you alright? You seem to be in pain."
"Migraine. I took pain killers and they didn't help but your brothers voice is so loud. I just want to make coffee but I don't want to get closer to all that noise."
He smiled. "Nothing a little magic can't fix, love. May I?" He asks, lifting his hand to your forehead. You nod, stunned by his term of endearment. You two were close, yes, but not that close.
With one hand on your forehead and the other coming to rest behind your neck, you feel his fingers growing colder, his eyes closed, while he hummed some ancient Norse, you assume. Within seconds the migraine is gone.
Once he opens his eyes, you realize how much closer he's gotten. "How does that feel?" He asks, his voice just louder than a whisper as his moves a piece of hair behind your ear. "Good. I mean, better. I feel better, thank you." You trip over your words and wonder if he's always been this handsome. You'd never noticed before.
"Why don't I get your coffee for you. Just to be safe." He says, stepping back a bit. "You don't have to do that, Loki, I'm a big girl, I can handle it." You smile and begin to walk toward the kitchen when you realize that once you go in there, everyone would have questions. Ones you aren't ready to answer yet. Panicking, you look to Loki. "Could you come with me?" You ask. "Of course." He says with a smile.
Walking into the kitchen, everyone turns to see you, confusion setting in. "Good morning, Lady (y/n). Brother. May I ask why you are here during the weekend?" Thor asks. You decide to be blunt with it. "Yeah, my husband cheated on me with our babysitter, so I brought my daughter here until I can figure something out." They all blink, stunned. Nat is first to speak. "You're married?" Then Wanda. "You have a baby!?" She said, excitedly. You laugh a bit. "If by baby, you mean 6 year old then yes. Her name is Sophie. She's still asleep." They all ask a few questions while you make your coffee, Loki standing by. After a while they turn back to whatever conversation they were having before and you take your coffee back to your room.
Sophie is already up and dressed, ready for the day. What a resilient and self sufficient little girl, you think. She sees you and smiles. "I'm ready to meet the Avengers!" She says, as you notice her Captain America t-shirt. She also has on a green and gold hair ribbon that you weren't aware she had. "Where did you get that?" You ask. "I made it! I brought my bow making kit with me and I wanted to make one that looked like Mr. Loki." Smiling, you go and hug her. "That's very sweet. Would you like to show him?"
"Yes, yes, yes!" She squeals. Laughing you leave the room and head for Loki's, just down the hall. Before knocking, you notice the door is ajar and can hear people talking. "Sweetheart, why don't you go ask Mr. Stark over there if he will take you to meet Captain America. I think Mr. Loki is busy right now." She looks a bit disappointed but agrees and walks down the hall.
You know you shouldn't eavesdrop but you had just heard your name, so you decide it's your business now. "I can't believe she never told me she was married. Or had a child. I thought we were close but she was living this whole other life." Loki said. "Yes, but you said yourself she didn't have a great relationship with her husband. Maybe she was embarrassed." Thor said. You heard Loki scoff. "That's an understatement. He deserves every bad thing coming his way. I wish I had known."
"You know, I'm curious as to why this is bothering you so much, brother. One could believe you have feelings for young (y/n)." You could practically see the face he was making just from his tone of voice. "And that is where I bid you farewell, brother. Thank you again for your wise input."
You hear the footsteps coming toward the door and decide to knock anyway, as if you'd just arrived. Thor opens. "Ah, speak of the dev-ouch!" Loki had hit him in the side, causing Thor to cast an irritated look his way. He said he would see you later and left. "To what do I owe this pleasure?" Loki asks. "Sophie made something, she wanted to show you." You say, butterflies suddenly inhabiting your stomach. Loki leans against the door frame, crossing his arms. "So where is she then?" He asks, confused. Shit. You hadn't thought of that. "Oh. Well as we were coming down here, she had asked Tony if he would take her to meet Steve so I told her I would go and see if you were busy." You lie. He seems to believe it well enough because he shrugs his shoulders and follows you to find Sophie.
You find them in the living room, your daughter, surrounded by everyone. They are all engrossed in her, hanging on her every word and smiling. "Mommy! Captain America showed me how to do real push ups, no knees down on the ground like in gym class. And his shield is almost as big as I am! And then Miss Wanda showed me a magic trick!" You laugh and hug her. "That's amazing, sweetheart! Did you thank everyone?" She nods. "Is Mr. Loki busy?" She asks, looking behind you at him. He smiles and comes over. "No, I'm free as a bird. What would you like to show me, love?" The entire team is staring at him in awe. He's never been this nice in front of them. Even to you!
Sophie points to her hair bow. "It's like you! It's your colors! I made it myself. I can make you one too, if you want one for your hair." She says, touching Loki's raven locks. He's stunned into silence but quickly recovers. "I love it. And I would be absolutely honored if you would make me one, Darling. It could be my good luck charm." He says with a wink. She hugs him and he hugs her back like she's the only thing keeping him on earth. She says goodbye to everyone and runs back to our room to make the bow.
"So is anyone going to say anything about how mushy Reindeer Games was or are we just accepting it?" Tony says. You laugh at Loki's glare, going up on your toes to kiss his cheek, making him blush while he scowls. "I'm accepting it." Suddenly, the elevator pings.
   "Well, guess I see why you left."

The Parker Twins (part two).

Warnings- bullying and swearing.
NOTE- HI! please send me an ASK if you wanna be added to the tag list! Tumblr tends to get rid of my notifications after a certain amount of time, so PLEASE send an ask<3
The Parker Twins Masterlist
You let out a yawn as you rested your chin in the palm of your hand, your arm rested on your leg. You were sat next to MJ in gym class, Peter and Ned were in front of you. He still hasn’t shut up about Peter being Spider-Man which is hilarious considering you were exactly the same and you knew how much the excessive questioning sometimes bugged Peter.
You turned your tired eyes towards the TV screen and smirked at Steve Rogers, “hi. I’m Captain America. Whether you’re in the classroom or on the battlefield...” you stopped paying attention to him and looked down at the two boys sat beneath you, “do you know him too?” Ned asked Peter, you smirked and shook your head, Peter nodded his head with a smug look on his face “yeah, we met” you shook your head, Peter leaned towards Ned with a grin on his face “I stole his shield” Ned turned to him with a shocked expression, though, to be fair, yours matched his exactly when you found out.
You tuned back into what Steve was saying, “today, my good friend, your gym teacher” you stifled a laugh when he gestured to the opposite side of where the coach was standing, “will conduct the Captain America Fitness Challenge” you rolled your eyes, the last thing you wanted to do was undergo some dumb fitness challenge.
You were sat next to your brother and his best friend, “do Avengers have to pay taxes? What does Hulk smell like? I bet he smells nice” you smiled in amusement at your friends quick fire questions, “I don’t think the Hulk would smell nice. However, I think Bruce would smell great” Ned nodded his head in agreement. Peter rolled his eyes at the both of you “you have to shut up” you let out a laugh. “Hey, can I be your guy in the chair?” Ned asked, you and your brother looked at each other before turning back to him “what?” he asked, Ned shrugged his shoulders “yeah. You know how there’s a guy with a headset telling the other guy where to go? If you’re in a burning building, I could tell you where to go! There’d be screens around me, and I could swivel around in a chair!” you laughed and shook your head, “I don’t need a guy in the chair” Peter grumbled, you all quietened down when the teacher came over, “looking good Peter” the teacher looked at you “why aren’t you doing anything?” he asked, you let out a sigh “I have a migraine and working out is making it worse” he nodded his head and walked away, you turned to the two boys who were staring at you “what?” you asked whilst shrugging.
You all turned to the group of people on the bleachers “now, for me, it would be F Thor... marry Iron Man and kill Hulk” one of the girls said, you shook your head. “Well, what about the Spider-Man?” Liz asked, you and Ned turned to Peter so fast that your necks almost snapped off, “did you see the bank security cam on YouTube? He fought off four guys!” Liz said, you turned towards your brother who was staring at her in awe. “Oh my god, she’s crushing on Spider-Man” one of the boys laughed which caused the rest of the group to do the same. Liz quickly shook her head, “no way” she paused for a bit “kind of” she shrugged “oh, gross! He’s probably thirty! You don’t even know what he looks like. Like, what if he’s seriously burned?” one of the girls asked, you snorted out a laugh “he’s worse” you mumbled which caused Peter to punch you in the arm, “I wouldn’t care. I’d love him for the person he is inside” she said, you smiled slightly but that quickly vanished when Ned spoke up, “Peter knows Spider-Man!” You both turned to him, he shrugged apologetically. “No, I don’t” Peter laughed nervously, Ned stood up after him “no. I mean, they’re friends” you let out a groan and collapsed to the floor.
You heard Flash and sat back up quickly “yeah, like Coach Wilson and Captain America are friends” you rolled your eyes, “I’ve met him, yeah. A couple times but it’s through the Stark Internship. Yeah, well, I’m not really supposed to talk about it” Peter mumbled, Flash walked towards him “well, that’s awesome! Hey, you know what? Maybe you should invite him to Liz’s party. Right?” Flash asked condescendingly. You glared at him as you stood up and stood next to Peter who looked towards Liz, “yeah, I’m having people over tonight. You’re more than welcome to come” she smiled, Peter nodded his head and smiled a small smile “you’re having a party?” he asked. Liz nodded back, you laughed slightly at your brothers love struck look. “Yeah, it’s gonna be dope. You should totally invite your personal friend Spider-Man” he snickered, you let out a loud groan and rolled your eyes “oh my god, Flash, shut the fuck up” you turned to the Coach who had yelled your name, you rolled your eyes and turned to Peter, “looks like I’m gonna be home late... tell Aunt May?” you asked, he nodded your head. You walked over to the Coach who escorted you out of the gym.
You pulled up outside of Liz’s home with a scowl on your face, you were sat next to Ned. May looked over to the house, “house party in the suburbs. Oh, I remember these. Kind of jealous” she turned to Ned, “some hats wear men. You wear that hat” she said, you rolled your eyes, a scowl still very prominent on your lips “this is a mistake. Let’s just go home” Peter suggested, you quickly perked up and agreed with him. “I know. I know it’s really hard... trying to fit in with all the changed your body’s going through. It’s flowering now,” she then turned to you, “and you, young lady, I want you to apologise to Flash for what you said to him” she scolded pointing an accusing finger towards you, you rolled your eyes “fine” you muttered before opening the door, you walked up the steps and waited for your two best friends to catch up.
The three of you walked in together, you looked around in disdain, you drowned out everyone’s conversation and walked into the kitchen and filled up a red cup with water, no way were you going to drink that punch. It was probably spiked.
You made your way over to the boys, “obviously I’m not gonna apologise to Flash for being a little shit but if Aunt May asked I apologised” they nodded their heads. “Penis Parker, what’s up? So where’s your pal Spider-Man? Let me guess: in Canada with your imaginary girlfriend?” he laughed “that’s not Spider-man! That’s just Ned in a red shirt!” you rolled your eyes and was about to march up to him when Peter grabbed your arm, “please don’t cause a scene” he begged, you narrowed your eyes “but he’s being a dick! he deserves it!” you yelled, he looked taken back by your tone “I know, but not tonight... please?” he asked, you rolled your eyes and nodded. “I’m going for a walk” you muttered angrily before walking away, “oh hey! It’s Parker’s twin! Hey, Y/n, how’re your parents doing?” Flash called. The entire party fell silent, you looked over to Peter and Ned who were staring at you. Your parents were always a sensitive subject, Peter had accepted that they were gone but you never could.
You whipped around and stared at Flash who had a grin on his face, you stomped over to him and punched him in the face, shouts fell over the house and you turned and ran out. You ignored the shouts of your brother and best friend, hell, even Liz and MJ were calling after you but you ignored them. After a while you slowed down and pulled out your phone, “Aunt May? Can you come pick me up?” you asked with tears in your eyes, “no, I’m fine... I just started feeling sick... “I’m by Williamson Street, it’s around the corner from Liz’s... okay, thank you” you hung up and shoved your phone in your pocket. You slumped against the wall whilst you waited for you aunt to show up with salty tears rolling down your face.
It was much later during the evening, May had tried to ask you what was wrong but you refused to tell her, eventually she had given up. She knew you well enough to know that you’d talk to her eventually. You let out a sigh as your phone rang, you turned over in your bed and grabbed it, you furrowed your brows at the unknown number. You swiped to answer it and brought it up to your ear,
“hello?” you asked, your voice was hoarse and scratchy.
“Gotta say I didn’t think you’d have it in you to punch a kid” you sat up at the familiar voice.
You switched your phone to the other ear, “Tony? How the hell did you get my number?” you asked in confusion.
He let out a scoff, “I have my sources, anyway there’s a video of you going around on the internet of you socking a kid in the jaw, what’s that about?” he asked, you rolled your eyes.
“It’s on the internet? Can’t you work your Stark magic and have it removed? Please?” you asked.
It was silent for a while, “of course I will” you let out a sigh of relief, “as soon as you tell me what happened” you were confused by his concerned tone.
You sat in silence for a while, “you’ve seen the video... surely you should know what happened... look I’m tired so I’m gonna get some sleep, goodnight” you hung up and led down. There was a soft knock on your door, it opened slightly and Peter walked in with his laptop and a box of Pizza. He walked over to your bed, “budge up” he said, you rolled your eyes and shuffled across so you were nearer the wall, he led down next to you and placed the laptop and the box of Pizza between the two of you. “I’m not going to make you talk about it because I know you don’t want to. So I brought you Pizza on the way back” you smiled and took a slice of Pizza, “Tony called by the way... he saw the video. He tried to get me to talk about it... I think he’s going to try and get the video taken down” you muttered with your mouth full of Pizza.
You and your brother were plunged into silence as you watched your favourite movie.

✧I Need You✧ Chapter 52
Before lying down, you thought it might be best to catch up with Steve. Maybe talking to him away from an audience, and especially away from Tony, might help him see the reason behind what you were saying. He always had seemed like a level-headed person, and he had some truth of it, too. Loki was getting the better of everyone. Maybe it was why it made it hard to agree with one another.
But no one seemed to know where he was. Which was funny. As you’d left the lab only moments after he’d stormed off. It probably meant he wasn’t in a talking mood. Not ready to be found. The last place you wanted to be was on the bridge, but that was also one of the last places you had yet to look, so begrudgingly you took yourself there. Fury, also, was noticeably absent, and the agents at every station looked up at you as you entered but forced themselves back to their work soon after.
The only people there worth talking to were Coulson and Thor who were gathered around a console, looking at a woman on screen. You had no idea what they were talking about, but Thor seemed pretty forlorn. It bothered you to bother them, but Coulson looked up at you as you got just a little bit closer.
“Everything alright?”
“Have you guys seem Steve? I need to talk to him about something.”
Leaning away from the computer, Coulson crossed his arms. “What something? I can locate him, if you like.” His way of trying to ask you if it was important. Need to know.
You shook your head. “It’s alright. Don’t worry about it.”
Thor turned your way. “Are you well, Lady? You look rather pale.”
“I’m okay. I’m just feeling a little under the weather. I’m going to lie down. Sorry for bothering you.” There was nothing here for you.
Coming to your side, Thor gestured. “Allow me to walk you to your room.”
Your immediate instinct was to tell him no thank you, but you tamped it down. He’d probably just insist anyway. “Oh- um, sure. Thank you. That’s very kind.” You gave Couslon a little wave and took off at a slow place, Thor aside you. In the hallway you decided to be a little bit intrusive. For the greater good, of course. “Who was that woman on the screen? You know her?” Hoping she was okay, if that was the case.
“Jane Foster. And yes. SHIELD has done her a great favor in finding her a safe place to stay during all this madness.” Very easily a rain of happiness washed over you from him. Mixed with fondness.
You couldn’t help a small smile. “Is she your girlfriend?” Interesting, if so. Jane was most likely a human from earth. What a love story!
“More than a friend, I would say.” Just a bit of shyness came from him then. He was quiet an open book for you.
“I just mean… you’re dating her? Uh… courting her?” His old world mannerisms were a little confusing. You’d have to get used to them.
It was impossible not to catch his smile out of the corner of your eye. “I care greatly for her, yes.”
Just as the two of you drew close to the elevator, “Tell me about her.”
Once inside he cast you a questioning glance. “Jane? She’s… no one has asked this of me. He took a serious moment contemplating what he might say. “Jane was the first human I met, when I came to earth before. She helped me, even at personal cost. She’s incredibly intelligent and has such fire.” The longer he went on the more the glow became apparent.
So much so that when the doors opened to the residential floor, you were grinning. “You love her.”
“I-…” He got caught in a small light of embarrassment but recovered fairly well, smiling widely at you. “I do.” It made all the more sense then, why SHIELD would stow her away somewhere, if his brother came to earth to destroy it- seemingly because Thor had developed attachments here.
Earth really was caught between these two. It was a little concerning, to be sure…
At your door, you beamed up at him. “She’s a lucky woman.”
“And I a lucky man.” Sure, now, emboldened by your findings. It made you feel pretty good. “If I may ask something similar of you...” Your brows lifted in question to allow him to continue. “Stark… you care greatly for him?”
For some reason this caught you completely off guard, and you felt a red flash in your cheeks. Had Thor been watching the two of you or something? Had Tony said something to him when they’d fought before? No way to guess. But at your overt reaction he began grinning and it was better to answer than to let him continue to go on that way. “I do.”
“You love him.” Now you were sure he was teasing you.
But you were firm as you answered. “I do love him. Deeply.”
“And he, you.”
But, now not understanding why he was continuing, you felt a little frustrated. “Yes. Why are you asking?”
He put a steady hand on your shoulder. “Fear not, I am not trying to upset you. I just wish to caution you. Loki is mischievous at his core. I never thought him capable of this great malice… but I mean to say, if I can see it, so can he. And he may try to use it against you.”
You glowered. “Loki is a lot of things. And he would be a fool to try and come between us.”
“Of this I have no doubt.” Thor answered strongly. For some reason it made you feel better. “Just keep it in mind.”
Thor was just trying to help you, it seemed. And no one knew Loki better than the man who was his brother. You couldn’t be mad at him for that. “Thanks, Thor. I will.”
“You are welcome. Thank you, as well. And rest well.” He gave your shoulder a little pat, gave you a little nod, and then turned on heel to leave. You watched him go for just a moment before pushing the button to open the door to your room. Thinking. About many things. Now this, too.
It made sleep impossible. You were sure you had the right room, this time, but sleeping was out of reach. You’d turned off all the lights and scrunched your eyes closed, tossed to one side and then the other. It was too difficult. Knowing Loki was so close. Sitting in that jail cell. Waiting. Waiting for what though? And those people who had the Tesseract? Where were they? What were they doing? Meanwhile your team was somewhat broken.
Clint was god knew where, doing stuff that he would no doubt regret later when you managed to save him- ...you, right? They wanted you to do it? If only they’d just tell you in plain words what your purpose here was. It surely couldn’t just be to get to know the team and try to quell them as the infighting started, could it?
What was Nat doing? Or Thor? Or Steve? While Bruce and Tony worked in the lab… this team needed to be assembled far before this. Why only now? What had SHIELD been doing before that they were hiding from you? What was the Tesseract? What was it capable of? And that stick with the gem…?
And now with the migraines back, and that noise- that noise that was still droning…
You felt yourself slip into a light doze. Just long enough to be unaware of your surroundings. In total darkness. Even blacker than just the lights off in your room.
Stifling.
Breathing became difficult, just coming in short pants. You felt yourself growing warmer. In a dream-? In reality-? Your eyes were opening- wide open then for just a moment. And you caught the sight of Loki’s pale face staring down at you. Unhinged. Tampered with that yellow static.
 “You’re going to be very useful. Aren’t you?”
 Sitting up with a shriek, your hand went to double tap the reactor on your chest, setting your suit into motion. It didn’t help that you were tumbling out of bed, face first- or… suit face first?- as you laid on the floor.
Tony’s voice registered over your comm. “What’s going on? You alright? Your heart rate is up forty percent.”
“Just a… just a nightmare… I think...” Hands curling into fists, you propped yourself up from the floor, still breathing heavy. Sitting up, back against the nightstand, you brought your hands up into view, flexing your fingers. There was a weight over you. “I-” Reaching up you deactivated your helmet and visor. Little prickles of that same yellow static were racing over your fingertips. Invisible to your technology’s eyes- you’d guess any eyes other than your own, but it still drew a shuddering gasp.
“I’m coming down there.”
“Don’t- don’t. I know you’re busy-” What was happening to you?
“We’re fine to run without me fifteen minutes- right-?” Hearing him ask Bruce. You didn’t hear what the answer was, but already knew as he confirmed. “I’ll be right there.”
Your head fell forward, and you almost buried your hands in your hair- but you pulled them away as if they’d been burnt. What was this infecting you? Would it infect others? Had Loki purposefully inflicted you with it? He must have. But what was it? What was it doing to you? How could you stop it-
The door to your room opened and you held your hand up without thought, repulsor charging-
“Hey- whoa! Hey. It’s me-” Tony’s hands were both held up to you defensively. Except he wasn’t wearing his suit. And you still were. And seconds away from blasting him. When you dropped them he came in, door closing behind him. “That bad? Hey...” Without a second thought he came to sit with you on the floor.
The lights were still off but between the dual glow of your reactors, it was bright enough to see one another. “He did something to me- don’t touch me-” You pleaded with him.
But melted once he immediately disobeyed you, taking your face in his hands, tilting you to look up at him. “You’re alright... You look okay to me.”
Eyes darting over him, you looked for that static. But it wasn’t there. Holding your hands up between you, it wasn’t on you anymore, either. Collapsing with a sigh against him, you buried your face in his shoulder, and his arms wound around you.
Feeling the comforting weight of his head atop yours, you then felt the warring feeling of fear inside him. “Why don’t you go home? We’ve got this covered here, we’re just about to wrap up. You should go home. Rest. Take it easy. Get away from all this.” Because clearly you couldn’t handle it, right? It was doing something to you.
“We’re not done yet.” You whined into his shirt. “No one else gets to go home, why should I?”
“Because I care about you way more than I care about any of them.” Brutally honest. “Though… why don’t you take Bruce to the Tower. I’ll clean up here and meet up with you two.”
Despite yourself you smiled, shaking your head. “He won’t leave right in the middle of this. Just like I won’t.”
“Yeah...” Admitting defeat softly. He let a silence sit while you got comfortable, half climbing into his lap. Enjoying this moment. Knowing it wouldn’t last. He urged the concept when finally, he asked, “What happened back on the Quinjet?”
You kept your eyes open, scared that if you closed them while retelling it, you’d fall back in again. “I tried to feel him out. I went… somewhere deep. And he attacked me there. I’ve never been pinned like that before. Usually when I’m there the other person doesn’t know. It’s like that part of them is asleep or something. But… he wasn’t. And he tried to murder me.” Letting yourself run cold as you put it so plainly.
That fear bubbled over into terror, and his arms wound just a little tighter around you. That was a place he could not save you from, if it ever happened again. Because it wasn’t a place that he understood. Or maybe even could make sense of. It intrinsically belonged to you and your world. And he’d never be able to touch it.
That alone was too much for him to handle.
“So you don’t do it again. And we’ll keep the two of you separated.” Trying his best, despite his lack of understanding, to find the best solution.
“But I saw him- just now I saw him…” Your hands clutched at his back. “He- when I saw him there- he had this… I don’t know how to explain it… I think he threw up a shield, like he knew I was coming. It was like this yellow filter, or something-”
“A shield, you think? Why would he give you a shield?”
“I don’t know... but now I see it on me… I can’t get it off...” The tears were coming.
“Right now? Where?” Sitting you back, he touched his hands over your face.
“I did- but… when you came-… it’s gone now.” You held your hands up to him, as if trying to let him know that’s where you’d been burned, and he took them in his, bringing one up and then the other to lay two soft kisses to your knuckles.
“Right. So we keep you away from him, and close to me. Sounds perfect.” He grinned, but it was weak.
This was too hard, for the both of you. You had figured that would be the case, when Coulson first arrived. That this was going to be the biggest thing you’d ever faced. And this only felt like the beginning. If you weren’t strong enough now what would happen when… something bigger arrived? As it always did?
You tried to smile back for him. “That means I’m not going home.”
“Yeah, well. You weren’t going to anyway.”
It was your turn to reach up, taking the sides of his head, holding him steady as you laid your forehead against his. Finally, for just a brief moment, closing your eyes. Feeling safe enough to do so. “We’re a team.”
“Damn right. So let’s go be a team and blow this whole thing wide open.” He shifted forward a bare amount, laying a kiss to your lips. One you wished you could have surrendered to wholly, as it felt like it really set your entirely world straight. Your hands drifted, instead wrapping your arms around his neck, holding to him. His hand went up to catch the mid of your back, keeping you steady.
It went on for too long, the world declared, when Bruce spoke up in both your comm sets. “We’re approaching signal. You okay to come back?”
You and Tony shared a mutual sigh, breaking from one another. Feeling like that really was the signal that there was finally no going back. “Yeah. We’re headed up.” Tony sounded. Looking at you one last time. “When you’re ready.”
It was all you could do to give him a nod. You had to be strong. He was trying. You had to, too. “Ready.”
                                       ----------------------------
Back in the lab, you were eased all the more by Bruce’s gentle smile and him welcoming you back into the fray. The fray, of course, being touching monitors every now and again to manage levels and findings. Very easy to do. And it was nice to put your mind on something else. Tony stood behind you and directed you on how to do another task, and you appreciated this, too.
Little chitchat happened back and forth as the sun started rising, about how when this was over you two would really take him to Stark Tower, quelling any objections he had- because if he could handle being here of all places, he really was safe and sound to come hang out at the Tower. And the two of you wanted him there, not just for him, but you really did like him. Tony seemed to, too, which was rare. You wanted to cultivate that.
It would have been too nice and too easy to get lost in that.
It was why when JARVIS talked over both your and Tony’s ear pieces, “Intercepting SHIELD comms,” the world came to another halt.
The two of you looked at each other as Nat’s voice spoke up. “Loki means to unleash the Hulk. Keep Banner in the lab, and remove Lady from the vicinity. I’m on my way. Send Thor as well.”
Panic bolted through you and you attempted to move away from the console, but Tony put a hand up to stop you, coming closer to stand next to you. “You’re alright. We’re fine.”
Bruce looked up. “What’s going on?”
Tony looked back. “Act casual.”
As if summoning him, the lab doors opened, and in briskly walked a very angry looking Fury. He nodded in your direction. “I need you to come with me.”
Tony took the lead, standing just a little in front of you. “She’s not going anywhere.”
Fury put his hands on his hips. “And what are you doing, Mr. Stark?”
“Kinda been wondering the same thing about you.” With a little nudge, Tony escorted you to the other side of the room nearer to Bruce. You wondered if this was a good idea. Loki’s plans had somehow been divulged… and they seemed to involve the two people who were now standing a foot away from one another.
And may as well have been set to explode. But what you felt was… a sense of comradery. You, Tony, and Bruce against the world, really.
After watching the two of you move in defiance, when you finally stopped Fury spoke again. “You’re supposed to be locating the Tesseract.”
Bruce put his hands together. “We are. The model’s locked and we’re sweeping for the signature now.” He pointed to one of the screens. “When we get a hit, we’ll have the location within half a mile.”
Tony turned one of the monitors his way as SHIELD’s files started pouring in. “And you’ll get your cube back. No muss, no fuss.”
Leaning up on tiptoe next to him, you swiped across one of the files and then clicked for entry. PHASE 2 stood out bright among it all, as it had the most security attached to it. “What’s Phase Two, Fury?”
With a large metal slam, Steve came into the room, dropping a heavy weapon onto the table. Everyone looked up at him. “Phase two is SHIELD uses the cube to make weapons.” Looking at the three of you in the back, “Sorry. Your computer was moving a little slow for me.” But when Steve locked eyes with you, the two of you shared a smile.
 Glad to have you back.
 Tony clicked into a deeper point of the file, bringing up blueprints. One of which looked exactly like what Steve had just dropped on the table. Stepping back Fury moved to address the Captain. “Rogers, we gathered everything related to the Tesseract. That does not mean that we’re-”
“I’m sorry, Nick.” Tony interrupted him, as you crossed your arms. He turned the screen around for the two to see. “What were you lying?”
Steve gave Fury a dead-eyed cold look. “I was wrong, director. The world hasn’t changed a bit.”
This was growing into a potentially dangerous situation and you knew that. SHIELD and their secrets would tear any normal human apart. What about enhanced ones? Ones that were supposed to be on a team? But then maybe it was good you were mobilizing as a team against their nonsense. You didn’t believe they were evil- but… well, then again, they were trying to make weapons with an unparalleled energy source. What did you know? About any of them?
Answering you yet again, the doors opened one more time, Thor and Natasha walking in quickly. You and Bruce both looked at her, and surprised each other by speaking in sync. “Did you know about this?”
You had no idea the nature of his relationship with her, maybe it would have been worth asking. But you knew how you felt about her. And right now that was pretty betrayed. She clasped her hands in front of her and spoke back at the both of you. “You wanna think about removing yourselves from this environment?”
Bruce laughed dryly. “I was in Calcutta, I was pretty well removed.”
Feeling a good, yeah me too coming on, you followed up. “I got a folder asking me to come here. I’m not leaving without answers.”
“Loki is manipulating the both of you.”
Bruce scoffed. “And you’ve been doing what exactly?”
Now she was crossing her arms. “You didn’t come because I bat my eyelashes at you.”
A tide was rising in the room. Steady. Simmering. But it would soon come to a boil. Everyone’s feelings were louder than what they were saying. And it was casting an odd light along the shadows in the corners of the room. The ringing came back to your ears.
Turning, Bruce stepped in front of the table and to the monitor Tony had the files displayed on. “Yeah, and I’m not leaving because suddenly you get a little twitchy. I’d like to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction.”
There was a tense silence in the room, and you tried to use it to get your balance back. But for once, it seemed, at the worst time, Fury decided to be truthful. “Because of him.” Pointing to Thor.
“Me?”
“Last year earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge match that leveled a small town.” You remembered seeing that on one of the files SHIELD had given you and Tony. Remembered the date. And remembered you’d known nothing about it until that time. But those people- they remembered it. Some of them had died because of it. And you… “We learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously, outgunned.”
Thor seemed stunned and just a touch angry. “My people want nothing but peace with your planet.”
Fury turned on him. “But you’re not the only people out there, are you? And you’re not the only threat. The world’s filling up with people who can’t be matched. They can’t be controlled.”
Your voice fell out of you before you could stop it. “Wasn’t that what we were for? What are you doing building nukes??”
Thor stepped forward. “Your work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it, along with his allies. It is the signal to all the realms that the earth is ready for a higher form of war.”
Steve, much like the rest of you, seemed stunned. “A higher form?”
Fury made a face. “You forced our hand. We had to come up with something.”
Standing at your side, Tony spoke up. “Nuclear deterrent. Cause that always calms everything right down.”
“Remind me how you made your fortune again, Stark?”
Oh you really were about to backhand Fury into next year this time. “This isn’t about him. This is about you and your lies.”
It was unfortunate, though, that Steve seemed to not know whose side he was on. “I’m sure if he still made weapons, Stark would be neck deep.”
Tony held a hand up. “Wait- hold on- when did this become about me?”
The ringing became nearly ear shattering. Voices started overlapping. Arguing with each other. You stepped back, hand reaching out to clutch the edge of the table. You caught bits and pieces as it became harder to breathe. That ringing was starting to sound like a shriek.
“I thought humans were more evolved-” “Excuse me did we come to your planet-”
“You understand-” “Don’t try to-” “Are you boys really-”
 Everyone was suddenly standing in a cold yellow glow.
 Even you.
 Thor waved his hand around. The voices stopped as his came into focus. “You speak of control yet you court chaos.”
Bruce crossed his arms. “It’s his M.O. isn’t it? I mean what, are we a team? No. No, no. We’re a chemical mixture that makes chaos. We’re… we’re a time bomb.”
Fury turned to him, holding his hand up, “You need to step away.”
You were no longer in control. Standing behind the table, you watched as you walked in front of it. “Why? Because you called him here just to use him and now he’s no longer an obedient dog under your version of control?”
Tony nodded, always on your team. “Yeah, why shouldn’t the guy let off a little steam?”
Steve’s anger flared. “You know damn well why! Back off!”
Face to face with each other, Tony didn’t back down. You watched yourself stand next to the two of them. “Oh, I’m starting to want you to make me.”
Steve sized him up. “Big man in a suit of armor. Take that off, what are you?”
Without missing a beat, Tony replied, “Genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist.”
“I know guys with none of that worth ten of you. Yeah, I’ve seen the footage.”
Unable to help yourself, “Then you don’t know the right men.” You wanted to get along. You wanted to build this team. But it wasn’t going to happen like this. And you would never, no matter who it was, let anyone talk to Tony like that.
Never.
He scowled at you. “You better watch what you say. You’ve just gotten good at cleaning up his messes. The only thing he fights for is himself.”
A laugh ejected out of you. “You could not be more wrong. You don’t know anything-” But Tony held a hand up to stop you.
Steve directed his next words Tony’s way, “You’re not the guy to make the sacrifice play. To lay down on a wire and let the other guy crawl over you.”
Tony stared at him stoically. Unmoving. “I think I would just cut the wire.”
With a shake of his head and a sardonic smile, “Always a way out… you know, you may not be a threat, but you better stop pretending to be a hero.”
“A hero? Like you?” Tony stepped up just a bare inch closer. Daring him. “You’re a laboratory experiment, Rogers. Everything special about you came out of a bottle.”
It was Tony’s frustration that boiled you over first. Closest to him, and only him. But you couldn’t breathe in that room. And everything was just so damn yellow. So bright you suddenly couldn’t see. And you were no longer standing next to him-
You were back at the table.
Back at the source.
Back next to Bruce who seemed just as heady. Just as angry.
What was this room full of people? No family, certainly not a team. Not trusting. Not loyal. Fighting for their own interests. Their own perceptions.
You wanted to scream.
Someone was laughing- first it was Thor- “You humans are so petty. ...and tiny.”
Then it was Bruce. And you almost thought you heard your voice coming out of his mouth, the way he was mirroring your words. “This is no team.”
“My thoughts exactly.” Standing shoulder to shoulder with him. Knowing you shouldn’t have said that- unsure it was you who let the sentiment free. But it was you, wasn’t it?
Fury turned to look at the two of you and became very still. “Agent Romanoff, will you escort these two back to their rooms.”
“I’m not going anywhere.”
Bruce scoffed. “You rented my room.”
Fury stepped in closer. “That was just in case-”
You felt the snap as Bruce broke, it threatened to undo you completely, leaving you hanging on by a thread as he spoke. “In case you needed to kill me, but you can’t! I know! I tried!” Your attention, much like everyone else’s, turned to him. And it was his blue that washed over the yellow. “I got low. I didn’t see an end. So I put a bullet in my mouth… and the other guy spit it out. So I moved on. I focused on helping other people. I was good, until you dragged me back into this freak show, and put everyone here at risk!”
Oh- no- his blue had sucked the yellow up. Like a transfer. From you, to him-
 Oh no.
 “You wanna know my secret, Agent Romanoff? You wanna know how I stay calm?” He’d picked the stick up off the table.
Reaching for him, you laid a hand to his shoulder, taking that static back. Forcing it away from him and back into you, even as the pain swirled. “Bruce… give that to me...” Speaking to him calmly. What last bits you had.
You were ready to explode.
He shared a look of realization with you, understanding first, and then frightened.
It took you a moment to realize, just as you had the stick in hand, that it wasn’t your body that had given out. It was the ship. An explosion from beneath you sent you hurtling towards the front glass in the lab, shattering it, shredding at your skin. You fell heavy a few decks below.
That whine was ringing in your ears.
Along with Tony’s voice.
Shouting your name as consciousness slipped away.

Unexplained (Loki X Cat!Reader)
Summary: Loki is greatly amused by the cat version of (Y/N). Everybody knows, too, because he just keeps turning her into one. When he does so yet again to keep her from going to a mission, she is at the end of her patience. However, Loki comes back a little less than okay and (Y/N) quickly realises she’s the only one who can help him.
Requested by Kittypet(AO3): I had the idea [for the Loki x Reader] Loki constantly turns the reader into a cat but never says why. The reader, is understandably quite annoyed by this at first but let's it happen, learning that everyone's favorite mischief maker does it because he only gives her genuine affection when she's in that state- in the form of teasing and cuddles. It's my headcannon that Loki is an extreme cat lover (and plus there are a lot of Lokitty x Reader but not too many Loki x Cat!Reader and I think that's a problem)
Key: (H/C) - hair colour, (Y/N) - your name
Warnings: Mentions of life-threatening injuries, mentions of near death, Loki has sort of a panic attack? But it’s not like those loud ones, it’s the quiet one where he’s just achad;kfjadk ya know?
Word Count: 1,587
Note: what is english where i am what year is it
    (Y/N) hadn’t ever interacted with Loki since Thor brought him to Earth. She didn’t have a reason to and it wasn’t like the guy was exactly friendly. It had taken them months to even talk and, when they finally did, it was because they were sitting awkwardly in the back corner of one of Tony’s parties. Even still, the pair weren’t close. They might say they were ‘friends’, but it was one of those ‘I can’t call you an acquaintance because you know too much about me and we see each other too much, but we’re not friends’ sort of situations.
    However, after too long spent suffering in the compound, the two felt they had a unique connection- one that came from being the only ones on the team with sense.
    That was when Loki did something completely and utterly ridiculous.
    The first time it happened was after a mission, one that had gone overall decently, but had a few kinks along the way. (Y/N) was arguing with Tony over his reckless decisions and something Loki had done during the mission as well. The two were having at it, voices raised and fists clenched. At one point, everyone else in the room had migraines from the pure stress radiating off the pair.
    So, Loki did everyone a service- mostly for himself, though, and for his own amusement. With a simple wave of his hand and a flash of green light, (Y/N) disappeared. Well, she didn’t disappear. Instead, she was turned into a tiny (H/C) ball of fluff. Loki had turned the woman into a kitten.
    It took (Y/N) a few moments to realise how short she was and, the second she did, she turned on the Asgardian prince with a yowl. Meanwhile, everyone else was laughing hysterically, mostly Tony, who calmed down at the transfiguration.
    Loki grinned devilishly at (Y/N) but didn’t get a word out before she leapt at him, claws outstretched. Luckily, Thor was there to drag her backwards and Loki avoided injury.
    Let me at him! Let me at him!
    It took Loki a full week of annoyed meows and rips in his curtains and sheets to change her back. How she got past his magic and into his room in the first place was what floored him more than anything.
    No one thought of it thereafter.
    Until he did it again.
    And again.
    And again.
    And again.
    And one more time for good measure.
    It seemed Loki received a great amount of amusement from turning (Y/N) into a cat, though she didn’t quite appreciate it as much. It became a trend around the compound. If you saw a small (H/C) cat lurking about looking grumpy, you wouldn’t mess with it. You shouldn’t even smile at it, if you wanted to live. Sam got more than a few scratches on his arms and legs that went unsurprisingly unexplained.
    The god of mischief turned (Y/N) into a cat whenever he found a good excuse, despite her arguments that there was never a good excuse. He transfigured her whenever she got into a heated argument with someone, when she got too reckless during a mission- pretty much whenever she needed to be human. Loki only made things worse by refusing to turn her back for days on end, even if she was needed. Fury was almost as annoyed as she was.
    (Y/N) started to notice an odd pattern in these times when Loki would change her, though. He only seemed to do it when she was in danger or in danger of getting into a row with someone. It was odd. She told herself it was just him taking advantage of an opportunity, but she could never be sure.
    Even weirder, Loki was actually somewhat...affectionate when she was in cat form. He would scratch behind her ears or between her shoulder blades, smirking when she was unable to hold back a purr. It was impossible to give into her feline instincts when she turned. She found herself enjoying a lot of cuddles from the team, but Loki was her favourite, mostly because she had never seen him act that way toward anyone. (Y/N) didn’t understand it, but she accepted it.
    Then came about an unfortunate series of events.
    On a mission that Loki was strangely absent from, (Y/N) got herself injured. She was cornered by an enhanced and nearly had the life beaten out of her.
    For weeks, she was on bedrest. The team refused to let her do anything or go anywhere, not by herself. When she attempted to go train with Clint, who thought she was pretty much good to go, Natasha literally dragged her by the ear back to her room. Surprisingly, even Tony was adamant she rest. It felt like everyone was working against her.
    Weeks later, when she was mostly healed, the team got called to another mission. (Y/N) immediately volunteered to go, but everyone eyed her doubtfully.
    “I’m fine!” She protested, “I’ve been resting for weeks.”
    “(Y/N),” Bruce interrupted with furrowed eyebrows, “You were close to dying. It’s not a good idea to-”
    “Oh, C'mon, Bruce. I’m fine! Seriously. You said I was doing great.”
    “Banner’s right,” Steve stepped up, as he always did, “You need to keep resting. The mission is too risky, you could just get hurt even worse and we won’t take that chance.”
    “I will!”
    The team shared knowing glances, unsure if they could stop her. That was when Steve sighed and motioned briefly to Thor, who nodded almost dutifully. Before (Y/N) could ask them what they were up to, Loki shrugged, almost disappointed but half amused. With a wave of his hand and a string of expletives from his subject, (Y/N) was a cat yet again.
    The team left her behind with quiet apologies and reassurances that it was for her own good. Meanwhile, Loki lingered behind. The prince kneeled down and pet her head, which she took without protest. She was becoming used to this form, as weird as it was.
    “It’s better this way, silly mortal,” Loki chuckled, but (Y/N) could see a light of seriousness behind his eyes.
    Then, he left, no longer smiling. (Y/N) huffed and sat back on her haunches, mentally preparing herself to rip her team a new one when they returned.
    When the Avengers returned from their mission more beat up than usual, (Y/N) put her plans of revenge on the back burner. She raced about, checking on everyone, but there wasn’t anything she could do with her size, much less without her hands. At that thought, she started to irritate Loki, trying to get him to change her back.
    However, the prince looked absolutely exhausted. (Y/N) swore she could see a flicker of red in his normally bright eyes. She continued to bother him, though, sure that she needed to do something- anything- to help.
    Loki ignored her and stumbled to his room, leaving the door open just enough for (Y/N) to slip through. When she did, she just barely saw him flop down face-first onto his bed with a sigh.
    (Y/N) mewed weakly, but he did not acknowledge her presence. He was truly exhausted, she realised. She’d overheard that the mission had gone awry, but she didn’t realise just how bad it was. It must have hit Loki harder than the others, because (Y/N) had never seen him like this, so vulnerable.
    With another cautious meow, she leapt up onto the bed beside him, poking his arm with her little nose. He simply huffed and shuffled away. She persisted, though, and eventually got him to roll onto his back.
    When Loki finally did show his face to her, (Y/N) was astonished. The area around his eyes had gone completely blue and his eyes themselves were red. The Jotun had shifted almost entirely into his Frost Giant form, a shape which (Y/N) had never seen before, though she had heard the stories. Supposedly, according to Thor, Loki only showed this form when he was in great turmoil, or experiencing emotions stronger than usual. If that was true, then Loki was definitely suffering.
    (Y/N) did not know that Loki had almost lost control today in his fear. She did not know that he had almost lost Thor, that his only thought was returning to the compound so that he might turn her back. She did not know that he realised today how much he wished to be close to her, to get to know her away from the times he messed with her.
    What (Y/N) did know was that he was hurting. And she could help.
    She wandered over near his face, which made him flinch away, but she meowed softly. This encouraged him to remain still as she snuggled up to him, muzzle buried into the crook of his shoulder as she laid beside him. Hesitantly, Loki lifted his arm to wrap around her small form, protecting her as she protected him.
    (Y/N) remained there for a long time, watching as his face lost its blue colour and his eyes returned to the ones she knew so well. When he finally returned to normal, he did her the favour of turning her back from her feline form. However, this did not prompt (Y/N) to leave his side. There she stayed, warm hands entwined with Loki’s cold ones.
