Capitano's fondest memories come mostly from you agreeing to teach him things you shouldn't. Running off into a part of the woods far enough away nobody will see or hear and finding a clearing to teach him how to use a sword. Should you have been doing it? Absolutely not, and especially not so far from your house, but his only exposure to fighting can't be hunting forever.

You started slow with him, cautious. You probably didn't expect him to pick it up as well as he did, because you weren't putting that much effort in at first. You taught him proper form and how to swing it but not much else. There was no technique until he ran around bothering you enough times you got tired of shoving him off.

Unknowingly, you had ignited quite a passion within him.

You were much better than he was, able to maneuver and adapt to your opponent, solely because you had to experience to do so. You were no longer worrying about things like form or how you held your sword. They were memory to you while he was still having to focus to get it all right.

At first Capitano was embarrassed by your corrections, but they became pointers of where to improve and he decided instead to treat them like homework every time you'd reach around from behind him and adjust him a little, shuffle his hands a bit and fix his posture, finally tilting his head back to tell him to focus.

He focused so hard, to impress you and persuade you to come back instead of leaving him to practice alone until he irritated you enough about it to make you give in.

Did he enjoy doing that? No. You'd shoved him so many times he'd memorised what hitting the floor felt like. Capitano was desperate, however, to have something he could do with you. He idolised you so much, and finally he was getting your attention and favour. You were so busy and perhaps cared a bit more for people your age than your little brother who was immature and reminded you of your younger self but you were paying attention and that was what mattered to him.

Strangely Capitano didn't mind every time he hit the ground this time.

At the end of it all you would sit Capitano down and clean any nick and cuts he'd gotten whether from your recklessness of his unsteady way of handling that sword. He was not to move, or tell your parents unless he didn't want to receive another lesson.

You couldn't teach him as well in the winter, too busy with all the extra chores, but you did take him hunting. You never quite coddled him as much as he might've liked, but you took him to do something fun and spoke to him instead of running off to do it yourself. The only problem was that Capitano never actually got to do anything.

Animals don't linger for the winter, and unwilling to let him and everyone else in the family go hungry, you didn't want him trying. This wasn't a teachable moment. It was time to get food when there was not an abundance of it. Even if all you could get were birds, that was ok. Birds were still something to eat so that he didn't go hungry in your mind.

Ice fishing was the other option, and he was better at that, even when he was young. You'd walk him out to the lake, frozen over and carve out the hole for him to sit and fish in. If Capitano complained enough about the cold, you might lend him your coat and let him sit a little closer. If you got cold, you'd ignore it, but he was smaller and more fragile. He needed those fingers of his to fish and hunt, so losing them to hypothermia was not an option. Maybe that was how you justified letting him sit in your lap while you encased his smaller hand in your own to warm him as much as you could. It wasn't much, but the intention of it all made him giddy.

Of course, when he got overexcited as a result and tried to get you to carry him back, he was hit with a whiplash as you told him to walk. He should've expected that, though.

You collapsing into bed the second all work was done and sleeping like a baby for the next three hours despite it still being afternoon probably should've given away that he didn't work as much as you. Winter was always too busy for you, and he never fully registered that at the time, only thinking he should wait impatiently.

Your mother asking him to check on you once or twice probably wasn't helping, as he'd always find you just as asleep as he left you. You never covered yourself with the blankets, though. There was no way you were hot, but maybe you were just that exhausted. Regardless, he would always climb onto your bed to fix the blankets for you and cover you up so that you wouldn't wake up from the cold.

Every time he'd tell you it was him who did it to make sure you were warm, he'd get a hug and a pat on the back.

He better not find his way into your bed, though, not unless you were already awake when he climbed in and asked you first. Otherwise, Capitano would wake up cold and on the floor. It wasn't uncommon for him to try to convince you by saying the two of you should pile all of your blankets together and share a bed. He was hardly subtle about the fact he just didn't want to sleep alone and sometimes even got scared when he did.

It was so strange to you when he up and decided he was joining the Fatui one day. Maybe he thought you would be proud or something. You definitely weren't. The exact words you said were something along the lines of how he wouldn't get far because they don't want pansies and wimps among their ranks. Capitano was neither of those things, and it stung a little, at least until it took him all of five minutes to realise you didn't want him to leave.

Of course you didn't, even though he got massively upset at the time. He'd been seeking your approval for years, it was no wonder why.

But in a way, it makes sense. Everything you did, as much as Capitano may not have liked it then, was ultimately because you wanted to protect him in a way that would allow him to protect himself eventually. You never wanted to coddle him too much but guided him and had a shocking amount of patience for his incessant whining and pestering. This was not part of that, letting him wander off to a place you couldn't teach him at a time you thought he wasn't ready.

How would you sit him down by the river and rinse his wounds before walking him home to clean them properly? You hadn't taught him that yet. His food? How would he align his bow perfectly if all he'd done for months was sword practice? Did he even know what it was like outside of your little world?

You were worried for him greatly, understandably, and that was not the kind of reaction he wanted. He wanted you to smile because you thought he was ready, but you didn't, and you might never.

Of course you would show it in that same crass way you always did.

Of course you would beg him, now tall enough to have to look down at you, not to go. The only time he has ever made you cry, as he was always curious if you did, was when you were faced with the prospect of your baby brother possibly getting in over his head and endangering himself with his ambition. He realised then that was what you really wanted, for him to be safe, and he cried with you.

Mind made up, Capitano wanted you to take care of yourself for a while without worrying about him. All he could do was assure you that he would be fine. Eventually, he would make you proud.

thoughts on x men evolution kurt?

i LOOOOVE evo kurt!!! i have a huge soft spot for evo in general (i love love love any animated version of the xmen and evo is so silly and whacky i cant help but adore it) and i think kurt is sooo adorable in that show.

i love how this version of kurt leans wayyy more into his mischevieous and silly pranky side than most other adaptations and i really appreciate that. i feel like its such an underutilized and underrepresented aspect of his character that it even kinda gets tossed to the wayside in the comics half the time, but it's one of the things that makes him such a fun, three-dimensional character. i think its awesome that evo chose to go with that side of him when other adaptations focus more on his melancholy, somber side (which i also love of course! but its not all there is to him!)

im also a huuuuge sucker for little brother and comic relief characters in general (bobby's always been my fave o5) and kurt rly kinda takes on his role of the silly team baby in evo. i adore a silly team baby. plus, kurt is ACTUALLY the youngest of three siblings in canon, so i can totally see him being the annoying kid brother who tags along with amanda and stephan and gets on their nerves.

i liked the more serious plot they did for him too with the whole thing with mystique. ill never get tired of that storyline i wont lie and i think evo manages to strike a good balance where kurt is funny and comedic relief, but you still care about him and when he has a more serious moment it works.

although i think he CAN be a little overexaggerated with his teen speak, i like to imagine that's due to his status as a non-native speaker so he awkwardly overuses slang to try and fit in. I gotta say that I think most of the time Kurt being a teen from germany coming to america is treated kinda weird (see: the reboot movies acting as if kurt doesnt know what a movie or a store is. like guys hes from berlin in the 80ies. hes not from fucking dorf schragensdiek mid-14th century he probably has done way wilder shit than suburban teen scott summers.) so i like to make up my own headcanons to make it make sense a little lmao. also as a german: we think american/english sayings are super funny and like repeating them as germanly as possible. its like a nationwide sport so kurt doing it for funsies would also be totally reasonable.

overall i tend to take a lot of inspiration from evo for my version of a teen kurt bc the way he's characterized could totally be a super young and immature version of the sweet calm fuzzy guy we all know n love. hes silly and pranky and kind of annoying, but he's also really caring and the way his relationship with kitty evolved from a silly crush to genuine friendship was SO sweet. i love when kurt is shown that way, flirty but ultimately completely unselfish when his affections aren't returned and totally glad to just be friends with someone he had a crush on. i do think it's really lame how he uses the image inducer all the time since kurt NOT using the inducer anymore is such a big part of his character arc, and him using it at HOME all the time too is really weird but... well, whatever. in total one hell of a lovable, great kurt.

I’m really sorry this is a long vent, I just wanted an excuse and place to sort through my thoughts, I thought maybe someone will be curious if I were to be honest about explaining technically why I might have potential for incestuous feelings. I more recently submitted about how I thought I got into shipping in relation to my brother, I said something about how like there was one time when I was young he walked in on me masturbating and put a blanket over me, and how I haven’t seen him in a long time.

I think I do have more incestuous feelings, even if they’re more the awareness of a potential, rather than being active.

Other things I forgot to mention are, though I was really young, at some point I knew that if he weren’t my brother he’d be the type of boy I’d like. Later there was one time he came up behind me and whispered on my neck and it gave me a asmr/sensual tingle and I felt embarrassed because I liked to have my neck touched. Or I’d see him shirtless and take notice of his differences to me. I remember not being convinced that I was genuinely grossed out by him specifically.

Whenever I’ve began to wonder how I’d feel about him, it gives me weird feelings, like it’s just interesting and different to think of intimacy mixed with that kind of familial closeness, plus I’m uncomfortable about how I’m seen especially by people who’ve known me a long time. I always have had “confused” or inquiring ideas of the difference between platonic/romantic/aesthetic attraction, and so on, but I think it’s partially just how my sexuality works in general, like one thing can lead to the next and I don’t really see it as a problem even if my feelings don’t always seem to come first and helplessly lead me to know what I like.

My family does have a complex, toxic past, which people think is the “cause of incest” but that’s not always the case. Though I haven’t been truly close with him since we were very little, it’s nothing that would make me not see him as a brother. He’s genuinely only in jail because of something someone else did, and will be there a long time unless my family can help. Even before that, he went to detentions so was away from me a lot, and started hanging out with people and building a persona he wasn’t raised into in order to cope with being mistreated by my dad who didn’t treat me the same way, and because of that he used to I guess resent me but he’s told me a lot that he doesn’t feel that way. He also used to occasionally bother me like he gave me a wedgie one time but it truly wasn’t that uniquely bad. Later I turned against wanting my families often out of control behavior around me, I wish I’d been more present. He wants to make up for making me mad but I don’t feel as innocent as he thinks I am so it’s awkward.

Like I said in the other submission he used to be very playful like we were little again and sit on my bed and want to be in my room a long time, he’s still silly on the phone and changes his tone.

Some of my friends had crushes on him when we were younger. When they told me, I remember realizing I guessed he was kinda cute. In general, I don’t even think my brother is “my type”, he’s used girls as a distraction and has shown that he can be emotionally immature with pushiness or getting upset without very much control, really I just wonder what it would be like if we were raised differently because it’s like I can sense that without circumstance he’d seem perfect to me and we’d be close, I’m not obsessed with it but I just never thought much into it till recently.

It feels safe to have a brother and to remember the most core parts of feeling conscious and naturally connected to another person without sensing society, our dynamic may have affected us more than we realize. He was very excited to have a little sister, he must have been shaped by me too, including unfortunately being eventually made to feel that I was not as much an acceptable target as he came to be, it’s just odd because we barely talk now and only have the sort of spiritual concept but it’s deeper in it’s own way.

I’m not in love with him or always thinking about it. Who knows if I’d end up considering it if things went perfectly, but if I did, I doubt I could unsee it. It’s really just that I’ve seen that I have the potential to be romantically moved by the fact he is my brother and it’s not something anyone else could be to me. I’ve had a younger stepbrother for some years but I also never see him though he wants to see me and I even slightly suspect he might have had a crush on me before he was my stepbrother when he was little but that might have just been him trying to get my attention.

I wouldn’t even consider it so much if it weren’t for me having this thing my whole life where I like to be curious about and empathize with things people see as impossible (I do have mild autism and other things that make me see social things a certain way but it seems to me like no one thinks the way I do). Maybe I wouldn’t consider it much if not for my interests because who knows if one started the other, but it’s not just that because then everyone who ships incest would be more inclined to this. I remember a couple moments considering possibilities like that when I was younger where others wouldn’t be aware of them at all.

So I only allow myself to think this because I’ve gotten past the taboo, I guess I still feel a bit bad, people think if you do you’re desensitizing yourself, but I think the whole concept of desensitization is largely based toward whatever’s currently treated as normal and people just not wanting you to perceive it differently and thinking the way things are is the only legitimate way, so whatever. I don’t think intimacy is invasive just because there are overlapping feelings that people associate from different dynamics, I realized the strange feelings specifically about us being siblings is maybe only about the expectations, and the anticipation of the discomfort he’d feel, because if I knew he didn’t just see me as a little sister, I wouldn’t feel violated by the fact that we are siblings when I consider if I could’ve found him sexually attractive without realizing it, I can’t imagine I would be disgusted by kissing him or anything, I think I would’ve liked it.

I think it's great that you're exploring all these thoughts and that you're not afraid to yourself these questions and to be honest with yourself.

Eduardo is an interesting character. Like I feel like I can relate to him alot. His emotional immaturity, his pettiness, his desire for improvement.

But what separates him from all of my favourite characters is that he doesn't have everything figured out, he's still not recovered and discovered himself yet.

Eduardo went through another death, just as traumatic as Laurels. I'm not saying he deserved it but it's like a wake up call. He snaps out of his cartoonish state and it feels like I can see him, I can feel that mask slipping off his face. I can feel his vulnerability.

I feel like I've been lying to myself about who I am and I feel like I can never have my original self back anymore.

I don't think he can either, he was happy before, he just wanted to draw cute shit and he was happy for it, when he actually did art because he liked it.

Now he realises that part of him is gone and no matter how he tries he can't have it back. But maybe this ripping of the mask can give him time to reflect.

LO is a "feminist retelling" comic about the rape of Persephone from Greek Mythology, but in a sort of modern fantasy setting. It changes some stuff up from the original mythos that makes it a pretty bad misunderstanding of the source material at best. There's a lot of things that I just find really, really creepy. Apparently it wasnt always like that exactly (or like, SOME plot points werent) & some elements were influenced by the readers of its older form giving suggestions that the comic artist decided to indulge in when they made the more, completed story, & the rape scene itself is handled with pretty good care, but there's just other stuff the artist did that they really really did not need to & made it creeper. There's a great video here that I'll link here if you want a more detailed run down, but I'll list some points on why I am a part of the LO haterer crew:

The rapist of Persephone is changed from Hades to Apollo specifically so Hades can come in to be the White Knight

Persepone is 19 & the artist/writer frequently makes sure to let us know just how sheltered, childish, & inexperienced she is, & is drawn to be very petite compared to other characters, & its very often used as plot points or for humor. She doesn't understand a lot of sexual references (like, she thinks someone "sleeping their way to the top" literally means napping), she doesn't understand why lingerie is sexy or why her being naked is inappropriate, she trusts very easily, she acts very cute & silly & playful, & acts like a teen. Persephine being sweet, innocent, & immature as character trait in general would be fine in theory, except the artist also constantly sexualizes her at the same time while specifically reminding us how innocent & childish she is in the same breath. She's frequently drawn naked or semi nude or in composing positions, & this is all done in contrast specifically to Hades' (& other characters) maturity & age. She's literally more sexualized than Aphrodite

There's a giant age gap between Hades & Persephone that's mentioned & critisized maybe twice by other characters, & then dropped by those same characters & later treated as okay or ignored. Like the artist got rid of the incest that was there in the myth, but they make an effort to frequently point out this age gap both in experience, maturity, and power imbalances throughout the comic (but don't seem to show it as a bad thing?)

On that note, Hades is said to be a jaded man in his late thirties or early forties and obsessed with Persephone but its portrayed as like... "cute". He's kind of an incel. One character points out that Hades looks like Persephone's "gross old dad". Hades is obsessed with her to the point that he tortures a college student who photographed him & Persephone together for a tabloid because he was worried it would affect her image. The artist said the couple is supposed to be troubling & a critical look of the dangers of this type of relationship, but based on the way characters almost never see it as bad (& those who do are portrayed as unreasonable) & the way these two are frequently portrayed as "cute" I kinda doubt that. And the artist has done multiple pieces of porn of them in addition to "cute" ship art on patreon so.

Demeter is portrayed as an abusive, controlling mother, rather than the loving mother she was in the myth, angry her daughter was kidnapped and raped

Aside from all that, the art style to me is just annoying. The coloring is too monochrome, & the character design is boring & everyone looks the same

You were done with being the one left behind, always ridiculed by the twins and their mob of "friends".

You wanted nothing more than sweet revenge tonight, and it didn't matter which rich asshole's blood would be spilled tonight- And even if your plan wasn't exactly foolproof, you were still going to go down and smash their skulls.

With a mask covering your face, gloves to cover your fingerprints and a baseball bat- You were ready for your first hunt tonight. What could ever stop you if not God itself?

Adrien can either hide and pray for someone to come help him, or try to fight you off and stop you from hunting him. And of course he ain't fucking attacking you, what do you take him for?? Insane?? Dumb?? Nah bitch, he is hiding.

Up until this point, Adrien had no idea you were the one behind the mask. He thought you were a random creep that went insane and decided to take his anger out on some rich people- Which could mean he is half right and half wrong!

But honestly though, you're the last person that he imagined being capable of killing so many people in one night! He didn't even know you were invited to this party, which makes this so unfortunate to him, he could be wearing a cuter outfit if he knew you would be here!

Adrien is treating this situation with much seriousness as one would imagine he would- With none. Knowing that you're the one killing everyone with a bat is kinda pathetic if not hilarious to him.

You weren’t lying if you proclaim that you are the embodiment of normalness itself.

A typical university freshman striving to have a prosperous future. Well, to be honest, you were kinda on the smart side of students, considering the fact that you’re advanced, if that counts. You were originally not planned to be though, you just pleaded with your mother to let you enter school earlier just because you didn’t want to fall behind Hirugami.

Nonetheless, if you were asked to choose a word to represent yourself, it’ll definitely be just the word “normal.”

Being normal has a lot of perks to be honest. No immense dramas, you are a bit known, but not that much unlike Hiragumi, nor you were as active as Hoshiumi. You are just you, living life like how a teenager should, allowing the wind to guide you towards wherever you’re meant to be.

A sudden knock on your door snapped you out of your trance, which is certainly your little brother, probably to remind you that breakfast is already prepared. Recently, you often find yourself lost in your thoughts, always thinking about your family, friends and the life you have right now.

Picking up your things after looking at yourself in the mirror for the last time as it was time to go down and greet your guests, aka your two best friends who never seemed to want to leave you alone, coming over for breakfast.

Hoshiumi sure is fast though, you briefly mentioned your mother’s invite to him yesterday like the good daughter you are, and now he’s already over for breakfast. Does your mother’s cooking have anything to do with it? Hirugami often boasts about how good the meals she serves.

You chuckled at how brazen your friends can be.

“Good morning!” You flinched at Hoshiumi’s greeting, giving you a weird look probably because he saw you laughing to yourself. “You’re such a tardy person. I’m hungry, so hurry up!”

The audacity.

Just like how your usual morning goes, you approached your mother to give her a kiss on the cheek as a sign of greeting. “Good morning, mom.”

She smiled at you and reached for your hand, “Good morning. How was your sleep?”

“I had a good dream last night!” You excitedly said and began to ramble about the dream you had, as the both of you entered the dining room hand in hand, meeting the sight of your friends and little brother conversing with Heiji.

The four immediately noticed your presence, ushering the two of you to sit down quickly so they could start eating as they were “dying of hunger” via Hoshiumi. You stared at him and expressed your disbelief, before sitting down next to Yuki.

A unison of “thank you for the food” was heard before you all munched in, savoring the meal your mother gladly prepared for everyone. “Ah, you never failed to make the best meals, Yumie-san!” Hirugami exclaimed, his mouth full of food.

Your mother only chuckled at his compliment before looking at Hoshiumi who was busy focusing on his food. Huh, was he really that hungry? He looked up with excitement, almost choking because he was hurrying to give your mother a compliment too.

“Slow down, child. I won’t go anywhere.” Your mother finally spoke up, laughing when she saw Hoshiumi’s flustered expression. “I’m overjoyed to see you enjoying the meal I prepared for you.”

Hoshiumi smiled, looking at your mother with bright eyes and flushed cheeks. Looks like he found another idol!

“I was informed that you only have them as your friends.” Heiji started another conversation, catching you off guard for a second. You mentally rolled your eyes, knowing too well he was referring to you. “You should make more friends.”

“Oh, oh!” Hirugami beamed, his face lit up so much you got nervous at what he’s about to say. You tried to warn him with your eyes to not say nonsense, but him being him, he totally ignored you. Gulping the food in his mouth before speaking again, “How about those transferees from yesterday? It’s a good chance to expand your social group!”

You sighed. “As much as I want to get rid of these two, I don’t need more friends, Heiji-san.” What’s the big deal in making more friends anyway? Having friends is totally great, but what are they for? You already have two immature boys to take care of, who you can also rant to whenever you have problems.

“Lame.” You glared at Hoshiumi’s comment, just him shrugging you off in return after sticking his tongue out. You’re contemplating on cursing him out like you usually would, but remembered that you’re in front of your family and doing that would cause your demise.

You could always beat him up later.

“I made friends with the other transferee yesterday.” Hirugami said. “His name is Akaashi Keiji, I could introduce you if you want! He’s really pretty, you might even get a boyfriend.”

You almost dropped the spoon at how straightforward he is. Really? In front of your family? “No.”

“Onee-chan just doesn’t know how to hold conversations.” Yuki teased, adding salt to your wounds. He’s a cute little brother alright, but there’s always the time where his honesty annoys and pains you. Very much.

“I’m just not interested.” You were determined to end this conversation, even if that means saying cheesy words to them. “I’m already satisfied with the two of you, so I don’t really see the need to make more.”

“So dramatic!” Hoshiumi mocked you again, but this time you couldn’t hold yourself off anymore and threw a spoon at him, which will absolutely make your mother give you a long lecture. Being the athletic person he is, he easily caught it. Well that saves you quarter of the sermon you’re about to get.

“Have you thought about what food you’d want for your birthday?” Your mother asked after chuckling at your and Hoshiumi’s little show.

“I’m okay with anything, mom! Any meal you cook is the best!” Giving her a thumbs up and a wink, your mother giggled again before squeezing your cheeks.

“Just make more friends so you could invite more.” Heiji insisted again.

“But Heiji!” You complained, not understanding how you need more friends. Will more friends mean you’ll get a higher chance to survive in an apocalypse?

"Your coming of age is once in a lifetime. I want this to be grand and memorable for you. The more guests, the better." Heiji uttered, his kind gaze meeting your eyes. “That’s my wish.”

Your heart softened at Heiji’s words, making you think of doing what he asked. After all, he rarely voice out his wishes for you, always accepting your decisions in life.

“Invite who you want to invite.” Your mother disagreed. “It’ll be memorable as long as you’re with your family, will it not?” You could feel the tension between the two, making you wonder if they argued before this.

You looked at Yuki, who avoided your gaze. Ah, something did happen. Now that you think about it, Heiji kept asking you about friends from the first day he visited. Today he’s asking you to make more.. friends. What is he up to?

Silence consumed the dining room, and it feels awkward to make any noise now. You apologetically glanced at your two friends sitting across from you, they surely noticed the tension by now.

After the deafening atmosphere, you helped your mother with the dishes and bid goodbye almost immediately after you finished. You didn’t want to burden Hirugami and Hoshiumi any longer, so it’s best to leave as soon as possible. Yumie and Heiji will probably talk after this, you’re sure of it. After all, arguments in this household are to be kept short.

“What just happened back there?” Hoshiumi exhaled after you closed the house’s door, stretching himself as he started walking. “You two felt the tension too, right? Did they have an argument?”

“That’s not very of them.” Hirugami answered. Well, it’s true. They rarely fight, the last time was probably when you were three years old.

“Let them be. They’ll get over it.”

Well, you silently hoped that they’ll be back to normal when you go home later. And you’re determined to force Yuki to tell you what happened, because he, beyond doubt, knows something.

The three of you wordlessly enjoyed the peace and quiet while walking to school. Walking with the two made you relax somehow, slowly forgetting the whole quarrel ordeal between your mother and Heiji.

“What’s your first class?” Hirugami asked you as soon as the three of you entered the university’s premises, checking his own schedule on his phone.

“Literature.” You dreaded, suddenly drained when you realize what your first class of the day is, as the two give you pitiful looks. The subject isn’t that bad, as a matter of fact, you kind of liked it. But the new professor on the other hand.. Well, likes to dump exceptionally hard projects every week, as per the rumors say.

They walked you to class, as the ever so gentlemen they are, while you said your worries to them regarding the new professor. Seriously, you liked and you were kinda close with the previous one, why on Earth would she suddenly resign?

Hoshiumi halted, making you release a deep sigh. “Good luck, then. Let’s meet at the new cafe nearby.” He gave you a soft pat in the shoulder. “I’ll treat you anything you want if you make friends!”

You puffed at his words, he makes it sound like you’re a child who’s at her first day of school. Well, it’s somehow like that, you guess. You silently hoped no one heard those embarrassing words of your friend before entering the room, and rushed to sit at your respective seat.

Your eyes caught sight of the transferee who you recognize that was in your class yesterday. He’s sitting one seat apart from your accustomed seat, making you a bit uncomfortable since you’ve never sat beside anyone. You couldn’t pinpoint his name though, remembering only the unique surname you’ve heard.

K.. Komori? Maybe.

Shrugging the thought of befriending him like Hirugami suggested, you just quietly sat down. As you took out your textbook, deciding to read a bit before the professor came in, you sneakily glanced at him again, only to find out he’s looking at you too.

Embarrassed, you immediately looked at your textbook and just decided to stay quiet and lay low. That was probably the most humiliating interaction you've had in class. It took you so much self-control to not bury yourself into your book. So much for making friends!

Minutes later, the new professor stepped in, radiating a very positive energy. Huh, maybe you’ll like her? Seeing her reminded you of the previous professor you had, she is very kind. A lot could tell you were her favorite, and she was yours. Her sudden retirement made you gloomy for days, but you’re still hoping she’ll come back someday.

After introducing herself, she immediately started her discussion. Saying it’s a waste of time for any more interruptions.

Surprisingly, time went by fast. She easily hooked you in the topic, and even made you participate a bit in class. You just scored another prominent professor, and you couldn’t wait to brag about it with your friends.

“Before you all leave, I will announce your first project for this semester with me as your professor.” She excitedly said, earning clashing reactions from the students, including your displeased one. Here it goes! “An autobiography project!”

Oh, that’s not so bad? You thought. Well, as long as it’s not a group project, you’ll embrace it without any complaints. You don’t like group projects that much, one’s always doing so much work while the other’s a freeloader.

“But it will be a pair work.”

Ah. You spoke too soon.

Your English Professor just gave out all the details and what she was expecting regarding the autobiography project, and also mentioned that it shall be presented next week, on Monday. “Now, for the partners!”

Please let the professor pick. Please let the professor pick!

“Since it’s the first project, I’ll let you pick your own partners. Submit it to me before you leave.”

You deflated, is it your bad day? Nothing seems to go the way you want it to. Looking around, you sighed. You didn’t know anyone in this class, well sure you do, but they’re definitely partnering up with their friends.

Is this why Heiji is forcing you to make more friends? You suddenly remembered the importance of Hirugami and Hoshiumi.

Ah!

You excitedly turned to your seatmate, intending to ask him to be your partner. “Hi!” You greeted him, biting your cheek when he flinched. “Do you want to be partners for the project?”

It took minutes before he answered a small “sure.” It gave you relief nonetheless.

Keeping up the cheerful attitude, you gave him your name. He just nodded, seemingly wanting to end the conversation already. Is he some sort of allergic to social interaction? Now is the time to say his name but it never came. You were getting pissed, not gonna lie.

Taking a deep breath, “Oh.. uh, you’re Komori.. right?”

He turned his head so fast that you thought his neck would break. You were waiting for words to come out his mouth but.. silence. He was just glaring at you.

You internally screamed at his offended look. Judging by his reaction, he’s definitely the other guy! A part of you was blaming yourself, and the feisty side of you somewhat convinced yourself that it was his fault. He could have introduced himself before the whole Komori thing!

“Sorry, I’m not good with names.” You lied, well, at least it’s somewhat partially true? You just said something before he may lash out on you. “You’re the other guy.”

His eyebrows twitched in annoyance before standing up. “Sakusa Kiyoomi.”

“Sakusa’s not here again?” Kuroo asked, sitting down next to Oikawa. They had scheduled a meeting in a public cafe, to “present” their recent findings regarding the goddess they’re searching for.

“He’ll be here in a minute.” Komori answered. “He said he just discussed a few things with a classmate.”

“How do you communicate with him?” Oikawa asked, genuinely curious about the two descendants of Artemis. “Do you guys communicate with minds or...?”

“Oh, the birds tell me!” Komori enthusiastically answered. “We communicate through animals just as Artemis trained us to.” He suddenly shuddered, remembering the harsh training they got from their aunt before descending to Earth.

“That’s so cool!”

As Komori said, Sakusa arrived within a minute and flopped down between Komori and Sugawara. He was displaying a large amount of frustration, yet no one dared to ask. He always despised interacting with lowly mortals.

“Anyways, we’re all here.” Aran faked a cough, gathering the attention of the gods. “Who would like to start first?”

Akaashi immediately raised his hand, eyes switching to in a flash. “Just like Sakusa, I encountered a strange human emitting an aura of a goddess, but it immediately disappeared. I don’t know what happened, but it went so quickly I didn’t get the time to process my thoughts.”

“It’s possible that she’s the same woman who Sakusa encountered. If so, we’ll just get her first. We can just erase her memory if she turns out to be normal.” Kita made the decision right away after hearing Akaashi’s story.

“Do you remember her face, Akaashi?” Sugawara asked.

“I don’t.” Akaashi shamefully answered. He was particularly good at memorizing, and he never forgets anything or anyone he came in contact with. So it made him uncomfortable that he doesn’t remember the face of that girl he encountered that day. “Her face was a blur. I don’t know why.”

“How about you, Sakusa?” Komori asked, Sakusa just shaking his head as a response.

“Did anyone go through the same thing?” Oikawa asked, specifically eyeing Iwaizumi who remained quiet in his seat. He never gave up asking about what happened on the beach that night, but Iwaizumi won’t budge. Denying every guess Oikawa said.

No one spoke a word.

“Is someone playing with us?” Suna questioned, making the silence grow and raised the tension more. “I mean, you know. We should’ve gotten her by now. But all of this doesn’t make sense.”

“Suna’s got a point.” Aran spoke, inspecting the gods one by one. It lowkey made him feel bad to doubt his associates, but it was clearly possible. “Someone is definitely toying with us.”

“Now’s not the time to suspect each other.” Kunimi sighed, tiredness lacing on his voice. “We were sent here to work together.”

“But it is weird.” Kageyama sipped the milktea he ordered from the cafe, eyebrows meeting as thoughts raced in his head. “Why would they feel a mystic aura then it suddenly disappears? Is that some sort of power she has?”

“That’s.. a great theory, Kageyama.” Kuroo couldn’t help but feel impressed at what Kageyama said, like all suddenly made sense. Whoever they’re targeting, he’s just certain that it’s powerful.

“Where did you encounter this girl, Akaashi?” Kita inquired.

“At the university’s library.”

“Akaashi-kun!”

All heads were whipped at the new source of voice. All of them frowning except Akaashi himself, who smiled.

“Hirugami-san.”

“Oh, I didn’t realize you were busy.” Hirugami regretfully glanced at his friend’s companions, bowing his head as his form of apology. “Can I steal you for a moment?”

The other gods looked at Akaashi weirdly, not expecting him to make any friends. But then again, it could probably help them in the future.

Akaashi looked at them, seeking out permission. Eventually, Kuroo nodded, making Akaashi stand up to talk with Hirugami.

“I’m going to introduce you to my friends!” They heard from Hirugami’s mouth. “I mentioned you earlier because you’d definitely get along with this childhood friend of mine.”

Kuroo raised his eyebrows, following the two with his eyes as they left the cafe to approach another boy and a girl. He almost flinched when he locked eyes with the latter, getting uncanny vibes promptly.

He unknowingly smirked after the said girl looked away to chatter with her friends.

Huh. This will be entertaining.

Topic: This is an extension of the last Jason Oneshot ^^ The rest of the horror movie villains react to their S/O telling them someone at work asked them out and she thought about saying yes.

Billy Loomis: 

·         Well, Billy’s a bit of a hot head… or a lot.

·         The guy who asked you out will probably be dead. Most likely.

·         And you’ll get the cold shoulder for an hour or two, because man. He’s hurt, that you would consider leaving him for some better life. You’re just like his mother, and this asshole who asked you out is just like Maureen Prescott. In his head, this just legitimises his murderous actions even more and makes him even worse.

·         In this scenario, keeping it to yourself would have probably bene better.

·         Eventually though, the fog will lift and he’ll remember that he needs you. He’ll come over and wrap his arm around you, nuzzling your face, and threaten you that if you ever do anything like that to him again, or even look in the direction of another man they will be cut down and he will make you watch.

·         Boy’s a little bit yandere.

Bubba Sawyer: 

·         Bubba’s mind flies right over the part where another guy asked you out and sticks to the part here you thought about saying yes. He doesn’t care about this other guy, he doesn’t know him. He cares about his people, and you are his person. He wonders, why would you do that? Why aren’t you totally happy with him and his brothers and grandpa?

·         His eyes will get watery, and he’ll just watch you and listen to you holding onto every word that comes out of your mouth until you’re done. Imagine that, for a moment. Telling Bubba, with his big, teary brown eyes (I’m assuming their brown, I can’t tell) that another man asked you on a date and you nearly said yes and left him. Imagine that, and tell me, could you do it???

·         Hell no. With his little fidgeting, and his fat bottom lip sticking out, and his whines? No! No! No, no, no, no!

·         So, quickly, bundle him up in a hug and tell him you were being silly, and you love him!

(Mayor) Buckman: 

·         Depends, was it a citizen of pleasant Valley? Or was it a passing stranger? Because if its one of their victims then there won’t be as many long-term consequences like their will be if it were one of his residents. His family.

·         See, if you’re dating the mayor, everyone will know. Especially this mayor, because he has a taste for flare and he sure as hell introduces you as his consort every chance he gets. Which means passers by and residents alike are well aware who you are and who you ��belong to’ (He wouldn’t put it that way, but its clear.).

·         If it was a victim, he’ll make a show of their death- even more then usual. If it was a resident, they’ll get a warning and he’ll never entirely trust them again. He’ll always bring it up from then on, too. Embarrassing you, and them. Refers to them as an almost-thief and whatever other nasty insulting name that he feels at the time.

·         But either way, he’ll be the same about your part in his heartbreak. Betrayed, but willing to forgive because you’re ‘Just so darn cute!’.

·         He will guilt trip you a lot though when its mentioned, but if you’re able to sit him down and talk about it maturely with him, and explain your side of the story, then he’ll calm down and forgive you. ‘It’s forgotten, darlin’. I’m sorry for acting immaturely.’

Carrie White:

·         Surprisingly, Carrie doesn’t immediately get upset and act like Bubba did. I mean, of course she feels bad. Its not a nice thing to hear from the person you’re in love with, that they nearly left you for something else! But, she thinks about your side of this as well.

·         She guesses, she understands where you came from. It would be easier for you to love someone normal… not like her… It would be nicer for you. She gets it.

·         She keeps the wounded look off her face, for your benefit.

·         “But… “She’ll say then. And explain her side of this. That she loves you so much, and understands that it would be easier for you and just wants you happy. But she would be really happy herself, if what would make you happy is to be with her.

·         It’ll be such a relief for her if you take her hands say that’s the conclusion you came to. One of those adorable, real smiles will grace her face.

Chop Top Sawyer: 

·         “WhhhaaaaaaaAAaAaaat???”

·         “Let me at him! Let! Me! At! HIM! Show me where he’s at, I should- “

·         You will need to stop him from storming your place of work with a face on a stick that’s on fire (Bubba balling behind him, because that’s his face!!), fists blazing and bouncing all over the place if you want to explain. Goddamnit, Chop Top’s gotta stand up for himself, and his woman! This will not do??!!

·         “Chop Top- Chop! Stop it a second, I- Chooop! I nearly said yes!”

·         That make shim halt in place. Only for a second though, before he drops his fists and turns to you in confusion. “Wat?”

·         “But… then… I realise, I love you. And I was being stupid, and- well, that’s it. I love you.”

·         “Awww, I love you too! That’s okay then!!”

·         Prepare yourself, because otherwise the force of Chop’s lung cuddle will send you both crashing into one of Nubbins bone sculptures.

·         Chop Top is pretty light hearted about the whole thing XD

Chucky/Charles Lee Ray (We’re assuming he’s human in this. Whether that be in man or woman form. And I’m sorry if I overuse this gif, I just love it XD): 

·         Some stupid guy asking you out is one thing, but you considering it??? That’s a direct attack on him and will be treated with prejudice.

·         “I must not be hearing right these days, doll, because I swear I just heard come out of your pretty little mouth that you considered leaving me for some castrated turd- or, he will be castrated, at least. Stay here.”  

·         I suggest you stay where you are because if you leave and he comes back to that after killing this to find you gone, he will find you, and he’ll be even more pissed. He’ll take that as an admission that you’re not in love with him anymore, and the situation will be handled much worse.

·         When he gets back, he will have the penis of the man who asked you out in a plastic zip lock bag and he’ll give it to you. Then hook a hand around the back of your neck and hold you firmly in place so that he can look down at you darkly and say: “Keep that as a reminder that I take great pleasure in sawing off any limb or body part off a person who tries to steal from me. I want you to be happy, sure, but having you is the point.”

·         For the rest of the night he’ll be pretty stiff and stay off to himself instead of hanging with you because, he didn’t say it but his feelings were hurt by this betrayal, but by the time the sun rises the next day he will have gotten over it, comforted by the fact that he has you for better or for worse now.

Drayton Sawyer: 

·         Drayton takes all this news in one gulp and just kinda… nods, says okay then, and leaves to continue his work. Out of it. Off with the fairies.

·         He doesn’t quite know what he could do about that. I mean, it’s good that you love him and you didn’t leave, but the fact that you thought about it still feels terrible. Especially since he doesn’t kill. He feels like he has no way of one upping you, or becoming even. He feels like the weaker part of the relationship, the one that has more to lose. Because clearly, you have options! He has… you.

·         He’ll be pretty quiet for the rest of the night and for a while after tat day he’ll act a bit off. Normal, you know. Doing things with you, and talking with you, and just being normal. But he’ll just a be a biiiiit off, because he knows he has so much more to lose, and he hates that feeling.

·         Eventually he’ll get over it, and feel better. But this has opened his eyes to that fact and its new to him! I mean, its not nice for anyone. But in his family, they all need each other They all play an equal part and even without that theirs blind loyalty involved. Here, he has to earn it and he suddenly feels very powerless, and in danger of losing you if one day you decide he isn’t enough.

Freddy Krueger: 

·         Similar to Chucky, he ‘wants you to be happy, but having you is the point’. He’s not above causing you an accident that puts you in a coma, so you stay with him all the time and you don’t have any other choices. Your smile is cute, but being with you trumps it all.

·         But this is only the first time, and you’ve told him that you realised you didn’t want that. You want him so his little perverted heart may give out, so he’ll let it go this once. He wont hold onto it and throw it in your face later or even use it to his advantage now.

·         He will kill the guy, though. There’s no way he won’t take the opportunity to kill someone.

Jennifer Check: 

·         “Well fuck you too then, bitch!”

·         Yeah… she may need a bit of time to cool down. She is hot. She graces you with her presence. How dare you stab her in the back like this. She thinks all this, and then she thinks that she should kill you. That no fuck buddy should be able to hurt her like this, but after she looks at you and assesses you… she knows she couldn’t.

·         But you don’t know that, and she’ll work with that.

·         Storming out, she’ll make you think that she’s so mad that she would kill you. Just so you’ll feel the fear for a time, which she’ll prolong as much as possible, going do her nails and toes and then get a delicious, boy flavoured meal as self-care.

·         Well, first of all, he would fight this boy. Killing him doesn’t really occur to him, because he likes to keep his romantic life and his murder life separate but he definitely wants to throw a punch or two!

·         Honestly, he makes it out like it would have been better if you hadn’t told him. He thinks you’re mad at him and are trying to tell him you have options, by being honest and telling him this. No one has ever claimed he’s the sharpest knife in the drawer.

·         You’ll get lots of cuddles and snuggles because he wants you to know how much he loves you. But that’s not really new.

Thomas Hewitt: 

·         Deep breaths. Watch his chest rise and fall like he’s trying really hard not to get mad, which he is.

·         But, mostly, he reacts like Jason. Hears you out, because what else can he do? Luda taught him not to walk away from a person in the middle of a conversation.

·         Once you’re done, he thinks. Still with the very deep breaths.

·         He thinks how he trusts you, and what you say must be true. But then if you thought about leaving, then something has to be wrong, right?

·         As you continue to explain to him, slightly more panickily, that you love him and it was a momentary lapse in judgement that didn’t even really do anything but you’re telling him anyway, because you love him and you want him to trust you, he slowly starts to clam down.

·         Eventually, her brings you into a hug to stop your panicking. His breaths have returned to a normal rate, and he vows to try and forget it.

Also this literally just made me realize how fucked up and evil it is that they gave Sakuya a backstory that was equivalent enough to get a link skill with a man whose entire family has been dead for like over half of his life, and two former super spy kids. like HE'S FACKING 17!!

but ABSOLUTELY. your analysis is spot on. He's gotten used to doing the cheerful facade of like, a totally normal adult, and honestly I don't even know if he fully understands how ingrained it's becomed in him. What made you fall for your number one favorite character?

The only reason why Klaus is there is because I really liked him for a very long time and right after playing his route when I started playing Wizardess Heart, but pretty much the other four deserve spotlight too, is kinda hard to put one over the others.

I actually don’t know why I fall in love with him because he is a asshole (maybe I’m really into meanie fictional guys) but I love him so much. Klaus is the very indiscutible king of Wizardess Heart and the number one character of the game, you hate it or you love it, or you ignore him completely.

Klaus is almost perfect: He is handsome, he is rich, he has status, he is smart, capable, he has everything to win and conquer the world. The reason why many people is not into him, is because he has a really dreadful and sadistic character from the start. I guess because he was still a student in his first story, his immaturity shows, so he treats MC really poorly and for him, she is a idiot and a nuisance. Right off the bat he call her “Bunnyhead”. Talking with other friends, we agree that the only reason why he took the personal challenge of help MC to improve her grades and abilities is because his grades were in jeopardy too and because he gets the opportunity of fullifying his personal wish of be a teacher and help people (YES! surprisingly he has a very humanitarian way of think).

We learn that Klaus is not really good at showing or admitting his true feelings (he is not very sincere and he gets really embarrassed of showing his good side, like he things showing his true feelings is some kind of weakness). You kinda get it, since Klaus have to grow in a very fake environment since he is nobility, you have to pretend and people would try to get close to you, just to get something from you. So that’s why Klaus looks and acts really cold at the start.

Klaus is actually a very passionate, compasive and very caring person and he really cares for his family and close friends. I know some of his takes (speacily with his brothers) were not good, so I really hope he could work to make things better for them.

The romance is good! The MC gets teased a ton, but I loved that he would never cross the line if you don’t want to, something I really appreciated, but I do really enjoyed all the romantic moments with him. I think the only thing I really craved was having a wedding or something like that in his story, but my guess is that probably is not Klaus style at all.

I think I get over the top with this explanation (really?) I think I really need to talk more loud about my characters.

I don’t know you people, but I was really intrigued with this game since I read the review, and also is a porn game with twisted bad endings, but the art of the illustrations are great!!! and I have a mighty need to experience the game myself. The three bad sides: I don’t have a phone right now to play and the other is that the company releasing the game is know for buggy/poorly done games and since is a portable, probably they cut the pornografic content. Also, looks like the game is more expensive in this version than the original -sigh-

WIZARDESS HEART

For the time I started writing this meme, the sad news about this game were not announced yet, but still I want to talk about how great this game is.

I understand this game is silly and a total ripoff of Harry Potter and also could sit like a bit childish for some players, and while I laughed this things at the start, this game become really meaningful to me in the long run.

There is a ton of LI’s in this game (over +20) so there is really options to all the players, there is good and bad but is really entertaining to discover every story and point of view of every character of this game. I totally love everyone, even the bad guys.

There is a bunch of trivia, you get to learn a lot about the magical world and the universe where this characters live so taking classes never gets boring.

You don’t only get to get romance and lovey dovey moments, you also get to resolve a mystery in every route, so at least if you’re not much of the romantic part, you would like to learn more about the general mysteries of the game.

Something I really loved too was that when the universe expanded more and more with the new characters, the interactions between them developed too and was really sweet to know how some of the LI’s formed bonds of friendship and seeing this interactions and slice of life moments really enriched my experience on this game as a player looking for some fun and comfort.

You get to get a ton of illustrations for free in every route, something I really appreciate because in other games you hardly get illustrations, or you have to pick the right answer or you have to paid for it, you don’t need to worry about it playing this game, just enjoy the story.

There is no NSFW content of this game (and this could be good or bad depending of your preferences) but there could be some sexual undertones depending of the route (especially with the most older LI’s) and of course there is some fanservice but nothing too crazy.

This is the game I recommended to my close friends so while not everyone's got full into it because the language barrier, more of least they tried to taste the experience and I enjoyed the years I spended talking about this game and every route I played so far.

30 questions about Juni (with unnecessarily long answers), from this SSO OC asks posts except i just filled it all out in one go. i want to try developing her into a more detailed character just for fun so this seemed like the best way to start! i hadn’t decided anything about her besides “non-binary and pan” until starting to fill this out hahah, i just tapped into my jorvegian feels and went along with what felt right.

this is already stated on my “about” page but, to be clear, Juni is some kinda persona/OC thingy and not “me”, while having some traits and details inspired by my real self. (you can definitely get to know about me by reading this, but, it’s not me me.)

BASIC CHARACTER INFO (remember her details are not mine!) Name: Juni Ravenhall Age: around 18-20 i guess, don’t wanna make her too old to fit with the other characters in the story. Gender: non-binary / genderfluid?, but more or less OK with her female body, and she’s fine with any pronouns. Sexuality: panromantic pansexual.

1. What is their home stable in-game? Why?

South Hoof Peninsula (headcanon:ing that there is a home stable there, obviously) because it’s her home. While travelling she makes use of stables and accomodations anywhere, so some people know her in the places she stays over a lot (Valedale, Moorland, others).

2. Where do they actually live in Jorvik?

Her home is on South Hoof, although she doesn’t stay there for long periods of time anymore with all the travelling and adventures going on. She was born in Valedale, but was taken to South Hoof as a small child. (My headcanon is that there’s a few more people living on the peninsula than what’s shown in-game.) It’s worth noting she’s an orphan (or is she...?! *dun dun dun*) so she grew up without a biological family. (btw, that’s not just to be dramatic... I’m from an abusive home and parents mean nothing to me, so I wouldn’t be able to relate to her as much if I gave her some kind of normal, caring parents, I don’t know that stuff. I’d much rather she has no parents / doesn’t know her parents, than that she has to grow up with awful ones.)

3. Who is their favorite NPC?

Hmm, I would make up some OCs for her proper personal story, but out of the NPCs that exist..... (these are not all my favourites, just some of them that I think works well for her story.) - She knows everyone at South Hoof to some degree since she grew up there, I think she’s especially close with Jonas as a parent-figure of sorts, and of course, Madison. She helps the hermit and is on good terms with him. When Hugh moved there, she started making friends with him, I imagine they’ll get close as Juni really cares about animal rescue. - She's fairly close to Conrad, mix of mentor, friend and parent-figure. (He’s taught her more than what’s shown in canon, and she visits him anytime she’s staying in Moorland.) - She likes helping Agnetha and Björn with their garden projects so they have a friendly relation, though casual. It’s the kind of thing where she’ll stay over and help them for a few days, and at the end of the day they have cozy outdoor dinners outside the house, watching the sunset view from the cliff and smelling the roses. They probably get some great fresh food from around Silverglade. - I think she's somewhat friends with Ed at Wolf Hell Inn (or stays over and sees what crazy stuff he’s up to often enough). - She definitely likes Rania and like going out for rides with her, whether there’s a special cause or not. I forget the name of that crazy ranger girl... but she likes her and Alonso too. - She likes hanging out with Mario, and they’ll have picnics on the mountain or on top of the observatory after she’s been helping him out, watching the stars together (platonically). - She’s a wary friend of the Bobcats and Justin, like, they could be friends (since she’s at Moorland often enough) but they aren’t quite. I think she gets along with Josh (pole bending guy). - I was going to write about the soul riders and druids... but I think in my made-up headcanon, Juni's situation and role in the soul rider team would be different. I’ll have to think more about it.

4. Who is their Soul Steed? What breed are they? Do they have any markings or look different in some way from the in-game appearance you could give them?

Winterborn, a Jorvik Warmblood stallion (here’s his tag on my blog). He’s a brave and loving companion, thoughtful sometimes, a bit silly and spoiled sometimes. His bond with Juni is very strong. He probably does look a bit different in my headcanon but I’d have to draw/edit it to make a decision, so let’s leave that in the air for now...

5. What is their favorite location? (Ex, Hollow Woods, Greendale, Silverglade Manor Library) Why?

- South Hoof, as her adopted home, and because of the ancient and “wild and free” energy it has. She feels relaxed and at home there, and somehow connected to the magic of the land (even before she learns about magic). - Valedale and the surrounding areas like Hollow Woods, where she feels a nagging sense of nostalgia and belonging, a tingling mysterious feeling (similar but not the same as what she feels on South Hoof). She loves the flowers, buildings and nature there. - Moorland Forge, for Conrad. - Agnetha and Björn’s gardens. - Wolf Hell Inn, she likes it there and (as mentioned) she likes seeing what weird stuff Ed is up to. - Dino Valley, she loves the winter, the solitude, and the challenge of survival (she’s an adventurer after all). - Crescent Moon Village, just for how cozy it is, and the Mirror Marshes, for its beauty. There’s a lot of spots around New Hillcrest and Epona she likes in general too. - Goldenhills Valley, she loves the autumn colours and the ruins, and takes an interest in the witchcraft that she sees, starting to wonder what’s good and bad magic. - Cape West, a cute little village to visit now and then. - Jarlaheim, as a place to hang out and shop / rest, after a day of helping out with farm chores around the area. - Greendale, where it seems like faeries might pop out if you’re quiet enough. - Ydris’ circus, because she can’t help but get curious about it. (I love circus / fairground aesthetics personally... I’m one of those people who’s always loved clowns and everyone else is like “what?! clowns are creepy man!”) - Mistfall and Firgrove are places she likes both for the nature and buildings, but she doesn’t tend to stay there long. - The Observatory, and other spots high up with great views, like the shortcut between Firgrove and Valedale, and the secret path up the mountain in Firgrove, too. - Aideen’s Plaza in Jorvik City, a cozy and fun place when you need a break from the countryside, especially if there’s an event / festival / market going on. - Pandoria? -- there’s certainly something about it...

6. Who’s their favorite horse? Why?

I’m going to say Juni doesn’t own any other horse than Winterborn, at least at this time. (Obviously I have lots in-game but for this OC story it doesn’t really make sense, so let’s say the rest aren’t canon, haha. Maybe they’re horses she’ll own later in life.)

7. What are their powers? Are they stronger with one Circle over any of the others?

Hmm... I dunno, I have to think more about this one. I probably want to draw some pictures to figure out more about her relation to magic and Pandoria and all that.

8. What’s their usual style? Any favorite tack sets or color themes for them?

She likes all colours and likes putting together new outfits and tack sets of various styles, but some particular favourite colours are red and purple, and overall her style tends to be bold and graphic rather than soft or gentle. She can do soft and gentle too though, when she feels like it!

9. Thoughts about Jorvik City? How do they feel about Rania’s petition for a horse-friendly Jorvik City?

She likes it there (especially Aideen’s Plaza as mentioned), but definitely thinks that there’s such a thing as “too much city” and has to retreat to nature after some time there. A horse-friendly city would be nice, as Winterborn would probably really enjoy getting spoiled with treats at the Plaza on a warm evening, getting petted by nice strangers.

10. Thoughts about Justin? (I’m sorry, I’m curious, he shows up so much)

She pities him in a kind way, thinks he’s sensitive and immature. She wouldn’t mind being friends with him once he starts growing as a person. She also likes lasagna, so they could organise a lasagna party together with the Bobcats sometime.

11. How do they feel about the magical horse race at the circus? Did they enjoy being a horse?

While she doesn’t like how Ydris treats people, she thought it was really interesting and insane, and had a lot of thoughts about what magic is / what magic can do after starting to come into contact with all its different types (Pi, Ydris, the soul riders and druids, etc etc). Maybe being able to turn into a horse at will and gallop around with Winterborn would be really cool!

12. Do they trust the Druids? Or how do they feel about them?

Once she starts getting to know about them, she trusts them as soon as she knows Conrad is involved with them, because she trusts him. Of course she doesn’t trust them 100%, due to all the weird stuff that goes on, but she trusts that they have good intentions even if it doesn’t always come out right, or maybe the right people aren’t in charge.

13. Least favorite NPC?

That’s a tough one... let’s just say she doesn’t like when people use or abuse others. However, she believes that anyone can change and become a better person, it’s just exceptionally hard for some people (and nobody is entitled to forgiveness). (Honestly it’s just difficult because I’m an open-minded person and I appreciate villainous *fictional* characters for their roles in a story, just as well as I appreciate the heroes and background characters. I don’t see a point in being pissy about fictional villains, they’re just part of a story, and in fiction everyone has a chance at bettering themselves. Plus, the victims of their actions are all fictional... nobody really got hurt. I wouldn’t think IRL people like Tr*mp is going to change for the better, plus even if he did he’s caused a lot of people a lot of harm, so IRL is another thing. but I can accept any character’s change and redemption in fiction because... it’s fiction, a fantasy.)

14. How do they make their money?

Before travelling she made them by doing odd jobs around South Hoof, now she does odd jobs around Jorvik. Often she’ll take a trade and do work for food and someplace to stay for the night instead of getting paid. She sells things she’s found and things she’s made now and then (having some skills in crafts).

15. How many horses do they own?

Same answer as before, as an OC she only owns Winterborn (right now).

16. How many pets do they have? What kind? What are their names?

I don’t think I want her to have any at this time, I might change my mind later. She loves the farm animals and the wild horses on South Hoof, of course, and helps take care of other people’s pets when needed. (I love my baby seal in the game though.)

17. How do they feel about the Soul Riders? Do they trust them? Feel like an outsider? Are they closer to some over the others?

I’ll have to decide on her role in the story and relating to the soul riders before I can answer that, so I’ll leave that for now. I don’t think she’s very close with any of them, if anything it’d be a somewhat good relation with Linda and Alex, I think.

18. Do they believe something mystical, magical, or otherwise strange really exists in Dino Valley? How did they feel about the leaving of the Kallter and the roar/scream/screech in the Valley?

There’s absolutely something strange about it, and her heart beats at the idea of more adventures there. The Kallters must have had a reason to leave.

19. Thoughts about Jorvik Wild Horses?

I think for headcanon OC story purposes, Jorvik Wild Horses and Starbreeds are probably the same thing? Just like, I’d go with that there’s a one type of magic horses with Jorvegian magic (or Pandorian) flowing through them, but then they can look different from each other. In the headcanon there wouldn’t be random Jorvik Wilds running around or anything, it’d be super special rare stuff like the Starbreeds are.

20. Do you think they are a Wild Whisperer? Or are they just bonded with their Soul Steed?

I’m not sure, leaning towards that she’s mostly just bonded with Winterborn. Maybe she has some level of whispering abilities but it’s definitely not one of her strongest skills.

21. What’s their favorite Jorvegian holiday or celebration?

All holidays, any excuse to celebrate, although she prefers peaceful and homely celebrations over parties or high-tempo events. Life is precious, so she celebrates every day to some degree (like I mentioned... sunset picnics, enjoying nature).

22. What do they think or feel about Pandoria? Have they or do they visit outside of the quests (using the rifts)? If they have or still do, why?

I think at the time I would place Juni’s story, she’s only starting to learn about Pandoria and is still confused and thoughtful about the different types and uses of magic. So what she’s going to think of Pandoria and what she’ll do about it would be something to figure out.

23. How has their visit(s) to Pandoria affected them? Do they have scars? Has it affected any of their life views?

See above. But also, since I want to explore Juni’s relation to magic, I’ll say I think the magic (or something else about Pandoria) might start to eat at her, and maybe she starts losing herself a bit the deeper she gets into those thoughts and the magic itself. No, I can’t imagine she would unless there was some very specific reason.

I love Lizzy’s course lol, but maybe Garnok did have a hand in it... Anyway, I don’t think Juni knows anywhere near enough to have an understanding of Garnok at this point, so it’s just some vague thing the druids aren’t describing enough.

26. Do they ever go to the Disco? If they don’t, would they ever consider going? What would it take to make them go?

She goes sometimes, but she quickly gets tired of both dancing and socialising in crowds and has to wind down afterwards, maybe just sitting down at the disco balcony to look at the ocean, or heading down to the beach to lie down and rest. The evening ride back to her home on South Hoof (or to a place to stay in Moorland if the ferry stopped running) is a moment of winding-down, too.

The beach party is probably a little more chill, which suits her.

28. Are they interested in helping with archaeology or fishing?

She likes trying to do archaeology, and finds ancient (or just old) things really interesting, but she’s not necessarily the best at it. It’s something she does from time to time, or when someone asks for help. Fishing is something she’d only do when hanging out with someone else.

29. How do they feel about Igor, the waiter/manager of the Dino Valley cafe, and whom seemed interested in your horse for… “culinary reasons?”

She hopes he was joking, and appreciates his efforts in starting up the café since the Dino Valley crew is so small, and everyone needs each others’ help to survive and explore there.

30. Do they like the perpetual winter of Dino Valley or the perpetual autumn/fall of Goldenhills Valley, or is it strange to them? Do they prefer one over the other, or neither?

She likes them both, but she’s curious about what they’d look like if the seasons did change.

I respect your position, and I also respect your justifications. In too many arguments, I've had people simply shouting me down without actually addressing any of my points, so this makes for a pleasant change.

As for your points about the level of Zelda's mistreatment of Link...

I'll agree that I definitely could have come of as rather strong in my views. However, I am firmly of the opinion that hurt caused, even unintentionally, is still very valid.

The fact that other people, including Zelda's father, mistreated her does not justify her mistreatment of Link.

When viewed in context, given her frustration, and youth, it provides an explanation for her actions. But it does not excuse them, nor the hurt they caused, imo.

Of course, I tried to heavily space my work with the disclaimer that I, and my interpretation of Link, are very sympathetic to Zelda. Indeed, I do not believe that she is an awful person, far from it. Her behaviour comes from a place of frustration etc. And Zelda herself even recognises that she has treated him very immaturely.

My point mainly revolves around the issue that it is Link's sole job as Zelda's protector to keep her safe. A job that he was appointed by the King. This is a duty he takes extremely seriously and is very attached to. So, Zelda CONSTANTLY trying to evade him, lose him, make his job hard for him is just...

Well. Whether it is her intention to or not (and I do not believe it is, because I think Zelda is generally a nice person, just placed on an awful situation that drags at her), it shows complete contempt for Link and his job.

And, of course, keep in mind that Link proves the necessity of his job, in the Gerudo Desert.

Hell, it's entirely possible that the only reason the Yiga attacked was because they knew Zelda's habit of slipping her escort. She was simply too inviting of a target. It's only Link's monumental devotion to his duty that saves her life (and, by extension, Hyrule).

And whilst in most of the memories that we see (and keep in mind that we only see a small selection of scenes in the memories), Zelda doesn't outright yell at Link (except for the times when she does), the fact that Zelda treats him so coldly is still a form of emotional and psychological abuse, I can say with certainty.

This includes the scene with Urbosa, when her first reaction to Link is shock and disbelief. 'Why are YOU here?' Because it's his job. Because he's trying to keep her safe. To be treated like that after all of the effort he went through to track her down would be incredibly demoralising.

Implying that abuse can only be verbal or physical is incredibly reductive.

It's actually one of my favourite things about her character that she's so keen to make amends for her mistreatment of him.

OK, so. The frog cutscene.

I understand and perhaps even agree that it was 'intended' as a cute funny silly scene. However, well...

Have you ever held up a wild frog or worm or snail or anything else that is generally considered as dirty and inedible to someone's face and tried to goad them, even jokingly, into eating it? My argument comes from the fact that although I certainly don't believe Zelda was trying to be deliberately mean, well. It is unusual. And kinda disgusting. I mean, she's sixteen, not six.

I interpreted Link's reaction as just the strength of his surprise/discomfort that breaks through his mask. Of course, the interpretations about her royal position came later, when I actually tried to view that scene in context of the world it happens in. But still, imo, they are no less valid. Zelda ends up putting Link into an incredibly awkward position here, even if she's only intending to tease him.

As for resentment, in my experience, it's a funny, irrational thing. I did not say that Link would resent Zelda for bringing him back, I say that he (imo) resents her decision to. He resents the necessity of it having to be done in the first place. That's not the same as resenting her.

He might also resent the fact that Zelda's powers did not awaken until it was too late, without resenting her.

Given this, and his closeness with Zelda, a more likely target for his resentment would be the goddesses that refused Zelda's pleas for assistance and advice, and therefore set them up to fail as they did.

On a side note, I also agree that Link resents himself, and that Zelda resents herself for her failures too. It would be extremely unnatural if they didn't, given the outcome.

You say that there's no point in the game that justifies that Zelda 'abused her authority' and I agree. It's more a conclusion that I came to myself, after viewing her actions within the context of the world. I do not believe that Zelda was so malicious as to berate Link because she knew he was an easy target who wouldn't and literally couldn't talk back to her, but the fact remains that this is what she did.

Despite this, however, I completely agree that Link and Zelda are very close emotionally. However, due to these interpretations that I have, and their justifications that I've have considered at great length, I do not believe that Link would fall in love with Zelda. I also use the fact that I believe Link to very much be in love with Mipha to fuel my justification, plus the fact that after BotW, Link would be far too emotionally devastated to want to get into any kind of relationship.

However, I respect your interpretations, and the fact that you have justified your points. I recognise that, although I disagree with you, your interpretations are no less valid than my own.

My opinions on the relationship between Link and Zelda in BotW, and why I personally detest romantic BotW Zelink:

A strong title, I am aware. I’m aware of the risk this runs of causing a right shitstorm lol.

I’d like to preface this essay with the disclaimer that all of the following are merely my interpretations. It is completely fine if you disagree with me.

My views are not any more or less valid than anyone else’s, and do not invalidate conflicting opinions.

Nevertheless, if you are an avid BotW Zelink shipper who does not wish to hear a great deal of criticism about this pairing, then I suggest you do not read this post.

If, however, you are curious to hear my opinions, then I merely request that you keep an open mind, and be respectful of everyone else’s interpretation. I will admit that these interpretations are integral to my characterisations within my fanfic series.

OK, so. Firstly. I do not think that anyone can reasonably argue with the fact that Zelda treats Link AWFULLY in the earlier memories. Indeed, BotW makes a rather large point of showing just some of the ways Zelda mistreats Link.

For context, Link is appointed as Zelda’s Royal Guard by her father, the King. It is, therefore, his sworn duty to protect her, and he doesn’t really have any say in the matter. But I believe that he would be proud to serve his kingdom in this capacity.

Zelda, however, takes great offence to his presence. She takes out her frustration by constantly belittling and berating Link, (knowing that she will not face repercussions for her mistreatment due to their respective positions) and repeatedly trying to escape his escort, despite the fact that he is there for her safety, and despite his best efforts to be as unobtrusive as possible to her.

And then, when Link finds her, because he is devoted to his duty of protecting her, she berates him again.

For merely doing his job.

What Zelda is showing here is that she holds utter contempt for Link and his duty, and actively tries to make his job, and his life, miserable. I cannot imagine the stress Zelda’s constant absconding would have on Link, given that if he fails his duty to keep her safe, it’s his arse on the line. Plus the entirety of Hyrule’s arse too, given Zelda’s destiny that she needs to perform.

We know from Zelda’s diary that Link, despite his blank facade, IS hurt by her blatantly hurtful actions, as is completely natural and normal in his circumstances.

Now, to be completely fair, I believe that Link is highly sympathetic to Zelda. He understands why she mistreats him, especially since Urbosa spells it out in her cutscene. He understands that Zelda is in an unenviable position, and that she is taking out her frustration and anger for not being able to live up to her destiny on him.

However, despite this understanding and sympathy, that does not mean that the hurt Zelda has caused him vanishes.

He has an explanation for her behaviour. But it is NOT an excuse.

So anyway. Zelda’s behaviour continues until the Gerudo desert. Remember that Zelda fled from Link’s protection (again) to go to the Gerudo Town, where Link is not allowed to set foot as a male. After he tracks her down to Vah Naboris (in the dead of night - dude must have been walking all day across a desert to reach her), Zelda’s first reaction when she sees him is scorn. I can’t imagine how hurtful that must be.

Anyway, the next morning, Zelda ditches him YET AGAIN, making her way across the desert alone.

When she is jumped by Yiga Assassins. Who come within moments of killing (or worse, capturing) her, until Link comes flying out of nowhere to save her.

(On a little side note, some people think this is where Zelda fell in love with him. And really, at this point, Zelda knows nothing about him, since she’d never before given him the time of day. She, at best, has a crush on the concept of a Saviour)

Now, fair play to Zelda in that after this pivotal moment, she changes her attitude and behaviour towards Link, even admitting to her previous faults in her diary. This shows a surprising maturity that contrasts her previous childishness.

However, again, this does not make all of the hurt she caused him just vanish.

Now, over the next months, I believe that Zelda and Link became very close friends. Especially given that Zelda was so starved for relationships. And they come to know each other very well, especially with Zelda sympathising with Link’s lack of choice in his own destiny, similar to herself.

However, well… even after this point, Zelda still mistreats Link.

I’m referring primarily to the Frog Cutscene.

Now, to preface this, in this instance, I do not believe that Zelda is behaving maliciously to Link intentionally. I believe that she is trying to tease him.

However, her behaviour is not ideal.

In this cutscene, Link shows extreme discomfort with Zelda’s insistence that he eat the live frog. This is especially significant, given his usual stoicness. The fact that Zelda causes this reaction means that he feels extremely strongly about this issue.

However, Zelda keeps insisting and pushing him, effectively taking her teasing too far, and causing Link more discomfort. Because who would want to eat a frog? (No offence to French people).

Now, coming from my own experience of having friends take teasing too far with me, and having unfortunately done the same with other people, I can say with absolute certainty that Zelda’s behaviour here is not ok. Especially given Link’s very apparent discomfort here.

However, there is also another aspect here that I’ve never seen anyone else mention.

Namely that, despite Zelda’s wishes of friendship, she holds authority over Link, as Princess of the Kingdom.

As a Knight, he is duty bound to follow Zelda’s orders and instructions. And one could argue that Zelda’s insistence could be viewed in the context of her ‘ordering’ Link to eat the frog. Of course, I do not believe that this is her intention, but, from Link’s perspective, there is definitely cause for reasonable doubt.

Which forces Link into the exceedingly awkward decision of having to refuse what MIGHT be an order from the Princess.

And, especially framed in the context of Zelda’s previous immature, unfair behaviour towards him, he doesn’t know if his refusal might cause Zelda to get all stroppy with him. Let alone other, more significant consequences that might arise from disobeying his superior.

And I feel sorry for Zelda here, seeing that she wants to view Link as a friend (or potentially more), however she must know that they are both bound by their respective positions at this point. Her behaviour is… inappropriate, and as sorry as I feel for her, that does not change the fact that she’s dumping Link in an extraordinarily awkward position, and being very unfair to him.

Because, if Link does take issue with her behaviour, what can he do to stop it? Zelda is the princess, and he has no right to tell her what she can and cannot do.

Now, that is effectively the crux of my argument, however I will also note that I interpret Link to be extremely depressed in BotW, due to how much he has lost, and how he is grieving the deaths of well… everyone he’s ever known, many of whom he cannot even remember. He’s grieving the death of an entire civilisation, as well as people extremely close to him.

In such circumstances, it would be natural for him to resent the fact that Zelda did not awaken her power sooner, and resent Zelda’s decision to have him resurrected, even in spite of him understanding the necessity of it.

Basically, whilst I interpret Link and Zelda to be very close, I am very strongly against the idea that Link would form romantic feelings for her, due to his formative impressions of her being filled with mistreatment and abuse. Whilst I do not doubt that he forgives her, the fact remains that first impressions are important. And Link’s first, second, third… (and so on) impressions of Zelda are… unfavourable.

If this happened to me, then, perhaps with a healthy dose of sympathy and understanding, I could come to forgive the one who has mistreated me so extensively, as I believe Link does for Zelda.

However, I do not think that I could ever fall in love with them.

And, whilst this was not meant to involve my interpretations about Miphlink, I will say that during the whole time Zelda was abusing and disrespecting Link, Mipha was nothing but kind, accepting, caring and devoted towards him.

As such, if the sequel explicitly puts Link and Zelda into a romantic relationship, or even just strongly implies it, I will be…

Honestly, I’ll be furious. Because this would run so completely contradictory to all of my interpretations about BotW and the characters.

I pray that they write with subtlety and leave reasonable room for interpretation.

Precuruary: Mahou Tsukai Precure

Finally, I review the series that seems to be the most hated Precure series, even more so than Doki Doki and Happiness Charge! I also reveal why I actually kinda like it....

“Asahina Mirai, a soon-to-be student in junior high, witnesses an object fall from the sky one night during spring break. Excitedly exclaiming that it could be a witch, Mirai sets off the next morning with her beloved toy teddy bear Mofurun to search the park. At the park, Mirai witnesses a girl soaring through the air on a broom. Excited and curious, Mirai barrages the girl with questions. The young witch introduces herself as Riko and explains that she's come to the "No Magic" World to search for certain objects. The two girls notice that they're wearing similar pendants. Meanwhile, Batty, a companion of Dokurokushe the Wizard of Darkness, appears in front of Mirai and Riko! Batty demands that Riko hand over the "Linkle Stone Emerald", which Riko herself had been looking for. To make things worse, Batty uses dark magic to create a monster known as a Yokubaru! Mirai, Riko, and Mofurun join hands. With the magic words "Cure Up RaPaPa!", their pendants shines a magical light over them! The legendary witches "Pretty Cure" are born!”

So, why does everyone seem to despise this series so much? Well, the main issue with this series is it’s writing and execution. The plot tends to throw some immature or just plain weird scenes at random and it seems like the writers just didn’t know what to do, so they just put whatever they thought was a good idea at the time. The plot is also a bit rushed and sadly, the characters suffer a lack of proper development. Put it short, the plot and the development is just a big mess. I heard it was because the writer and director kept clashing, like one wanted to something real dark and epic like Go! Princess and the other wanted it to stay cutesy and safe. I really wished they had stuck with the more darker route. I mean it’s a series about witches.Dark and witches go hand in hand together. The cutesy parts can get a little boring too for some folks, I didn’t mind it too much. 

So, despite all that, why do I actually like it and even get a little defensive for it? Shouldn’t I hate it like I do Doki Doki and Happiness Charge? Well I’ll list my reasons in so is to be consistent, unlike the plot of Maho Tsukai.

1.) Kinda likable characters.

I will admit, while they’re not the most deepest or complex of characters, most of the MTP characters are pretty likable. 

(Well okay, I said MOST, not all.)

I really do like Riko. Yeah, she can be snobby but this melts away rather fast and the way she does it, is very appropriate for her age. She’s a kid that wants to be more grown up, so she tries to look impressive. She’s has a lot of insecurities that come natural for someone her age and she acts a lot like how I expect a kid would act.

Which speaking of which, I feel like the three main trio are actually suppose to be in Elementary School, but they felt they needed to have them be in junior high. They don’t even look 13! They look more so 10 years old at the oldest but decided to changed it to 13 so is to fit with the other precure franchise. Come on, Toei! This franchise is aimed at elementary school kids anyway, we wouldn’t mind if you made them younger. Look at Cardcaptor Sakura and some of the older magical girls series. Some of the main cast in those are 10!

Anyway, I also like Ha-chan. Yes, she can be annoying at times, but I thought she was pretty cute and I really like her design as Cure Felice. She’s absolutely gorgeous in this form. 

I also really enjoy some of the kids, teachers and staff members at the Magic School, especially Kochou. At long last we get a handsome male supporting character that is both useful, interesting, likable and not look like a creeper (Such as Joe from Doki Doki)! His relationship with Kushy is very sweet. Some question whether or not it’s gay. I kinda wonder myself. I would be lying if I said I didn’t see this, that’s for sure. It could be just a real firm friendship but well, you ship who you want.

Bad ass design too! Though I really question on why he’s wearing a lampshade for a hat....

Mofurun can be a little unsettling to me at times and get a little annoying with that baby like voice, but they did grew on me. (Yes, I see Mofurun as non binary because well, teddy bears don’t have reproduction organs) I like how Mofurun is useful in many other ways besides being the transformation device. Most fairies that aid with transformation, tend to fall flat when it comes to being useful in other ways. Mofurun can sense linkle stones and was willing to risk their life to protect the stones from getting in the wrong hands. That’s pretty solid for me. Go teddy!

Not to mention, but Mofurun as Cure Mofurun is just adorable! I wish that Mofurun was actually a witch doll with Cure Mofurun’s design. It would have been way cuter and well...None of the Cure Mofurun plushies would be over 40 bucks! (US dollars). Speaking of which...

2.) The Relationship Between Mirai and Mofurun

As someone that was really close to her stuffed animals, I kinda understand Mirai’s feelings towards Mofurun. In fact, I think most kids get the connection. It’s common for kids to love their toys, especially a toy given to them by someone really close to them. The belief of it gaining a personality is also a common thing kids like to do and also a belief in Japanese culture. The belief goes if you love something such as a toy or even an accessory so much, that object will gain a soul and that soul will protect you for loving it so much. (Same if you treat an object badly and the object hates you). It’s kinda silly but this is a nice touch to the culture and to childhood. Well Mirai is certainly not my favorite, she’s really bland on her own, the relationship with Mofurun is pretty cute and again, I can see a young kid having a close bond with their stuffed animal. When I was a kid, I use to pretend my stuffed animals had personalities too and especially loved this tiger plush, given to me by my grandma.

3.) This is short but the nods to old Precure series and designs.

The whole holding hands and use of attacks, even the speeches before the power up, are actually nods to old Precure series that also did this. It’s kinda nice of them contributing to older series. 

The designs of the outfits, especially Sapphire and Over the Rainbow are really well done and the transformations are fun to watch. The animation can be a little mediocre but beautiful in the transformations and I’m glad they decided to just do mostly 2D animation this time, with only resorting to 3D in the endings.

4.) The Witch World and How They Convey Witches As A Whole.

This is what I think MTP does a lot better than Ojamajo Doremi. How they convey witches. Well they use the same similar tropes such as the pointy hats and the broom flying, the way they convey witches is kinda surprising and kinda respectful. Believe it or not, witches do exist in a way. They don’t fly on brooms and the magic isn’t as instant as shown in this series. I’m mainly talking about witches and connection towards nature, as well as some of the lore tied in.

In the Magical World, nature seems to be a major key element to the magic of witches, which is true to actual witch beliefs. From their wands coming from trees, to taking care of mystical animals and right down to how the Magical World is made, is direct tie in with the belief of witches. 

 In some lore, mainly Wiccan, there is a belief that there is a Goddess and horned king in charge of taking care of the world.  Mother Rapapa and the Deustmas generals kinda seem to be a representation of that belief. I dunno if that was their main intention, but kudo points for adding in anyway, especially if it was.

I also like how witches in this world are just ordinary people that just happen to use magic as a passionate subject. That’s what I found inconsistent in Ojamajo Doremi. In Doremi, it seems like witches are not human. There’s not even wizards in their world. They’re in another one. They’re like some sort of weird creature not connected with people at all, since they can’t be found out by humans thus turn into frogs. Yet, somehow humans can become witches when given these magic jelly bean looking things.

Plus the designs of the witches in Doremi I found disrespectful and lazy! At least in Mahou Tsukai, witches and wizards are treated like their own person, with their own style. Yeah, they have the typical hats and such but they at least try to make them interesting. I also didn’t like how magic was given so easily in Doremi. With Mirai, she had to kinda prove herself that she was willing to put in effort to do magic. Yeah, it consisted of saying the magic words over and over, but at least it just wasn’t given to her like “Here some magic jelly bean things. Now you can do magic!” Part of the belief in witches is putting spiritual effort into the thing you desire. Doremi it seemed more like the magic was coming from the seeds, then themselves. As for Reiko, well, she comes from a line of strong witches so magic is born in her and she doesn’t get good in her magic until later.

5.) Deusmast Villains

Oh, come on, you knew this was coming! Deustmast generals are the best in the series. There the ones that caused some people to come back and watch this series again, especially Orba! They’re threatening, they’re smarter and they have great designs! 

Fun fact is not only are these guys really cool but also may have from different beliefs, including from witches. Not only can they presumably be based on the horned king of Wiccan and possibly (though more obvious) the Muslim belief of Jin/genies, but also the belief that help create Halloween. In ancient times before people started really getting into religious beliefs, people turned to witches to help  fight off monsters and demons that were said to appear mostly during Halloween. The witches would dress kids up in costumes, to confuse the monsters into thinking the kids are one of their own demon brethren. They would also use spells and incantations to fight them off.

I heard they were too scary for kids. Too scary my butt! DysDark villains were far from “cute” and went all out dastardly at times! If Precure starts getting lame villains because of that notion, it will be forever before we have a good series like Go! Princess! Threatening villains help create intensity, making you feel there’s more at stake for our heroes!

Either way, the Deusmast generals were certainly a lot better than the Idiot Trio. No, I refuse to call them “Dark Magicians”. That’s an insult to Dark Magician from Yugioh and I refuse to stoop that level!

Plus, come on. Orba is like the hottest character to come out of a magical girl series! He’s a package! He’s a book worm, he’s a hot without his glasses and when he powers up, he’s a hunk! It’s like 3 hot dudes in one! Who knew you could get such in a show aimed at kids! Plus, it’s said he’s based on the one wing angel and fallen angels. I believe that because he certainly looks like one. I always said his face is angelic and it is!

So, yeah, there’s a bit to like and appreciate from this series. Some people may disagree and if you’re one of them that’s fine. I can understand it. I’m a big fan of anything witch related as you can probably tell, so I’m usually forgiving. The only witch series I don’t like is The Familiar of Zero, mainly because I hated the main character and to some extend Doremi. I do like the idea of musical witches and they did convey what childhood is like real well, but the characters were annoying to me and again, I just didn’t like how the witches are represented in that series. 

So, I do like Mahou Tsukai a bit actually. In fact, it’s become my second favorite series. I like it not as a good series but as a guilty pleasure. I appreciate what it was trying to do, quite a few characters are likable, just a bit under developed and the ideas put in it, is pretty interesting. Sadly, I have to judge this as a whole so I’m gonna have to rate it a bit low.

I give Mahou Tsukai Precure 4 and a half stars out of 10. My recommendation is for anyone that can enjoy a series that’s cute, with some nice ideas thrown in there and don’t mind that the plot can be a bit messy. Put it short, if you like cute guilty pleasures, you’ll like this fine. Some of the bad moments can be laughable especially some of the dialog. Just whatever you do, don’t watch episode 50. It’s pointless and this is coming from a fan. I rather like to believe that episode just didn’t exist.

If you’re looking for a series that is intense with a good story line, you’re better off skipping this whole series, but I do recommend it more than Doki Doki or Happiness Charge. At least it tries to stand out with some interesting characters and ideas. Those two series are just horrible and the only good idea of Happiness Charge was different precure from other countries.
