Alright, we're putting down some ground rules.

First off, my friend SHANBO is the one who motivated me to do this at all, and I nearly went with her "The Clash" Inspired 'The Only VG Music Blog that Matters', but as great as that is, I respect the work of other VG Music blogs. I'd never hear PLOK's OST were it not for them. I figured there's no better way to emphasize my own priorities with this music blog than in it's very first post- Everything I post will be related to video games in some way. I will be generally avoiding music that is created for another project, that is used in video games. Think Tapes in MGSV- I would love to throw Rebel Yell, but that feels like cheating. Just as well, as much as it pains to me say, music that is specifically inspired by video games, but lacks any of the melodies from them, is off limits. No Protomen. But, covers, vocal additions, and remixes, are fair game. i’m sorry but seeing your post about being too old to enjoy rook while tag surfing and visiting your blog to discover that you’re 23 knocked me right out. you’re not too old, you just have a certain taste for writing and narrative styles. you are a baby

oh yeah i forgot to update my age anyways! i turned 24 a few weeks ago lol I guess what I meant to say is, with the way rook is written in VG-they don't really feel like they are meant to be relatable to someone my age anymore. Sometimes they were so heavy-handed in the message they wanted to get across to the player, it made me feel like Rook is meant for young children, who haven't yet learned what it means to deeply regret something, or the importance of being a team player. Even if that wasn't their intention.

For example, when rook escapes regret prison with the line "I live with the choices I make- the successes and failures. " And the ghost of Harding says "You did everything for the team, brought us together, held us together when no one else would"

This message doesn't really strike a cord in my heart bc I heard these lines before on the poster in my guidance counselors office whatever rook is supposed to be doing in this story just doesn't still hit in the same way as Hawke still does, I remember trying to save Carver by not taking him with me on the deep roads expedition but i still lost him anyways! bc we drifted apart..I may or may not have cried seeing Leandra die.- that's relatable im at that age where friends drift apart, parents get older ect. I could be 40 and play dao/da2/dai and still find new things to resonate with but not rook ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sometimes I felt the same with the humor too like when I tried to crack a joke with Davrin, and rook opens his mouth to say "well Davrin, you'll raise Assan to create a world where the light outshines the darkness" and Davrin goes "yeah, well let me tell you that, it will require a lot more ginger wart truffles" corny.

So good to see old friends and readers, now my blog isn't always gonna be about Devil May Cry as I do like these deep dives whether you do or not. I've been in depression since early December but I'm feeling grander than ever! I'm happy to say that Uncharted 4 and RE8 helped a lot.

But I'm not gonna talk about the whole RE8 game...

I just wanna talk about one specific character...

Karl Heisenberg

First off, I love his name! Instead of being spelt with a C, it's spelt with a K! And the lastname alone is just fucking sexy!

From the information I've gathered (my observations, Wiki, and YouTubers), I couldn't help but find myself infatuated by him:

- He was kidnapped and subjugated to the Cadou Parasite Experiments (said in the Wiki and his diaries).

- Kept himself cooped up in his factory to work on his inhumane experiments for his rebel army (introvert, maybe?).

- Has a grudge against Mother Miranda.

Alright let's get this out of the way, I LOVE his appearance, he looks so rugged up and I just love it!

From his trench coat, to his hat, to his shades?! So adorable (nope, not hot... adorable...) especially when he says:

To be honest and blunt, he stammers and stutters before he starts yelling, an example of him not liking to be interrupted, which happens three times; by Angie, Moreau, and that experiment with the propellers ( can't think of his name at the moment).

Let's be honest, no one likes being interrupted when speaking...

Back to the Dive-in...

I was listening to a YouTuber called  Video Game Sophistry, who said that Karl Heisenberg was supposed to actually be a pair of TWINS, they'd both do brain experiments on their mother while his father was supposed to look like Karl during his boss fight... As well being the ruler of the land, not Mother Miranda... But capcom discarded that idea (glad they did)...

His body is made of electrical organs that are connected to his nervous system where he can pass and control electricity throughout his whole body, allowing him to control magnetic fields which moves the metal!

Mother Miranda didn't see Heisenberg as a good enough vessel for her daughter. Only seeing him like an experiment, which he mentions in his diary.

"She took me. Took us. To be her children. She locked us away in the village. Decades of serving her. Can you even understand that humiliation?"

It is extremely clear that his life was taken from him, but it's his next line that made me think...

"I'm not my siblings. I want nothing more than to be free of that bitch."

Yeah, Karl and Zoe have some things in common:

- Stuck with their 'families' for years

- Want nothing other than being free.

- Relying on Ethan to help them

Unfortunately Heisenberg dies before getting his wish... Zoe doesn't...

Gonna skip to the scene when Heisenberg explains his plan to Ethan... I don't know how, I don't why no one looks to the left...

But I did...

In red, BOLD LETTERS next to Donna Beneviento and Salvator Moreau's pic says and quote:

"BSAA COME!!"

Why does he want the BSAA to come to wherever he lives? Does he want to join them? Does he work for them secretly? Also, how does he know about Chris...? As well as American Ground Beef (That part makes me laugh as well as question him)...?

Like:

- Did he ever travel to America?

- Did he ever eat something that had ground beef in it (not all ground beef is used for burgers, guys)?

- Was he going to travel to America if he gotten free? Maybe keep a low profile?

We'll never know...

Another thing I've discovered while scrolling through the comment section of YouTube vids that have Heisenberg in it was that it didn't look like Heisenberg actually died, most of the time the characters would calcify and crumble... But he just exploded! No calcification, no nothing just... BOOM!

Someone also said that his 'form' looked like armor rather than a transformation... Which I had to agree on, it does look like armor!

The transformation even looks like a Splendid Royal Moss Caterpiller ( VGS even says it himself) which was supposed to move faster than the other Lord's transformations.

I was personally thinking he'd turn into a mechanical horse thus to his symbol, but, oh well!

Alright this is getting too long, hope you liked my deep dive, I'll probably do more, I kinda wanna talk about Ethan and Heisenberg in the next one...

Mmm. Gonna be honest with Jasabeth. I do not care for it lmao. I mean, I guess??? But I’m way too deep into Valgrace to like Jasabeth, since they’re virtually the same thing but uhh, vg is fun 💀. Sorry anon, can’t say anything great about them this time. IMO, Jasabeth is just the straight, white, and boring version of Valgrace. And even if you didn’t like Valgrace (impossible) and you think Leo is too much (he is) and Jason should be with someone more serious (maybe), then Jasabeth is literally the same as Jeyna 😳? On Annabeth’s side, then just give her Reyna lmaoo, Jason’s just a dorkier version of Reyna. If you wanted Annabeth to be with someone dorky and a dude, then... Percabeth was right there... 

They had that one moment where they built off each other’s ideas nicely, but I think that should’ve went to Annabeth and Leo instead, or Jason and Percy, because... smart people shouldn’t be pitted against each other, and the other two were supposed to be pitted against each other so them adding to each other would be more meaningful. Besides that, Jason and Annabeth seem like the type to fight for the best grade in a class for three days and then Jason realizes he literally doesn’t care and Annabeth remembers she could spend the time doing literally anything else. 

TL;DR jasabeth is somehow simultaneously a boring version of valgrace/jeyna/percabeth 😩

Reflection

It’s been 44 days since I started this blog and this project. What have I covered in that time? And what have I got left to go before term 1 ends?

01.

On February 8th I created first a blogspot, hated it, and created this instead. I was looking into various ideas and platforms in which I could work with to create an outcome. Glad I went with the one i did in the long run, but we’ll get there soon.

February 9th I was starting to collect some ideas down, and also noted down links to various things I had found. CHiP was looking appealing at the time, and funnily enough the outcome i’m making would hopefully be compatible with it in the long run. This is the first time I mentioned ‘Music’ which would lead on to where I am now.

February 13th I started to put some ideas on the table. none of which I have followed through with. However, it is interesting to look at the WSC website idea, because I am furiously passionate about it but I was unable to do it as it was something being worked on anyway.

Even more ideas but still the same story as 4., I actually had a hard time figuring out which idea to take on, as it was such a critical choice which would affect the entire year, so I was considering everything. As of now i’m happy with what I have picked but it will be interesting to see where this goes later in the year.

This is where the idea hit me, so thanks to Anton for talking to me about ideas, he effectively gave me the idea in the first place. It is something I am really, i hate this word but, passionate about. I’ve grown up with games and often read about schools using games or interactive/computerised tools to teach students (mostly kids) certain skills and various other things. The other idea in this post was kind of bland, again i’m liking the idea I picked.

This is where I began to look into what games existed and what platforms are around, and I had already looked at PlayCanvas seperate of digital tech, as with Superpowers, and I still haven’t found any good educational games. Perhaps i’m not looking well enough? Hard to say. I just haven’t found barely anything in the line of music theory, and maths is probably the most well covered thing.

I locked in to the idea of an educational game, looking back at the context I had back then I can see how stakeholders have helped out, back then I had limited the outcome to high schools only, nothing more.

Starting to look into considerations, I found areas where I could improve the context and the outcome in general, nothing much has changed since.

One of two posts I made before Mr. Gunn talked about it, I wrote out the first draft of my conceptual statement. WAY too many personal pronouns, the statement is for the outcome and it’s fitness for purpose, which is linked to the considerations and the context, not what I want to see in the game. I learned that pretty quickly after the fact.

Got feedback, they all liked the idea and said it could even be profitable, which I found kind of funny but I suppose it’s technically true, however, I would want to make the outcome open source. Suppose there’s nothing stopping me from doing both. This feedback helped me broaden my horizons and consider those who are already out of high school but still want to learn music theory.

Made my conceptual statement more broad, less specific, and less personal. I was happy with the changes at the time and still am. I have developed certain aspects of the outcome since however, so I’ll continue to refine that in the final brief.

Moving onto research, I really liked what the Kahoot! team had to say, PlayCanvas and Superpowers both look really promising, at this point i’m leaning towards PlayCanvas as it looks slightly easier to use and learn, so we’ll see if that shines true in the long run.

Looking at more stylistic research now, I would still LOVE to do something in a similar style to Dan Paladin, but I would have to be careful that it didn’t look to be directed towards children, while still being friendly and easy to use and look at. Something which Musition fails to do. Still have to decide between 2D or 3D, as both could work with the ideas I have in the back of my head for what the actual program will be.

More feedback, they also liked the idea and provided some really good feedback on what I could and should do. Those specifics stand true as of yet, hopefully I’ll be able to pull off all of them but time and work will tell.

Everything I said in post 18 is just elaboration on the previous posts, all of it being stuff I want to see in my final outcome. 

So, using everything I have worked on and developed, this upcoming week i’m going to start working on my final brief, there are still some odd things I want to research off to the side, but I have enough material which I can focus into pulling together a killer brief, or at least I hope.
