i am always 🤏🏽 this close to becoming a black separationist at all times and i'm not even kinda joking. like the very very few white friends i do have still tend to have their moments of ignorance and their cultural blind spots that prevent them from fully understanding my lived experience, and i'm mixed.

i genuinely cannot imagine how much harder life would be for me if i was dark skinned. the amount of credence i'm given by white ppl because of my proximity to whiteness while still being othered is a head trip in itself, i think if ppl disregarded me completely the way they do so many of my dark skinned mutuals i would not have the fortitude to handle it. shit would have me going postal in less than an hour
