Ken Miyashita & Hanzou Akabane

Ken Miyashita - The head of the group and an American transfer student, he's a positive fellow who can't seem to not focus on music. It's a core factor in her life, which leads him to connect with others through shared songs or introducing songs. They can play various instruments due to their unending interest in music, but that leads her to struggle in subjects that don't translate to music that well. Moving to a new school is hard enough, so Ken retreats into his love of music to ignore outside pressures.

Hanzou Akabane - Assigned to help Ken in her first few days at school, Hanzou is Ken's first friend at Kamiyama and the second member of the group. He is more reserved and stand-offish, but tries to help others the best he can. His parents divorced after their arguments got to a breaking point, and lives with his mom. She lets him do whatever he wants, but he just wants her to spend time with him, as she is rarely at home at the same time as him.

Nobutoshi Akabane & Yuuto Yoshinaga

Nobutoshi Akabane - Hanzou's younger brother, he's aloof and free-spirited. After an incident that scarred him, his parents divorced and he lives with his dad. His dad provides guidance and gives him attention, though Nobutoshi would wish he'd lighten up as he's too overly protective. He tries to reconnect with his older sibling, but to no avail.

Yuuto Yoshinaga - The fourth member of the group, he is stoic, level-headed, and way too formal. Adjusting to a more normal life after running from a yakuza gang, he makes friends with Hanzou as they take things more seriously. He is pretty emotional, but is conditioned not to demonstrate so.

The secret to good school is good funding. One day, I dream of a world where all schools have options for their children. Personally, I think it's pretty important for that sort of thing to start out early. See if you're actually into that think BEFORE you're 100k in debt and hating your life.

My area has some awesome architecture. One time, I wanted to do a project on it, and my teacher said it was too complicated. I cried, like genuinely left that class, found a place to sit down, and just cried. The buildings were pretty, and I wanted to talk about them. I really do love the amount of thought put into those buildings. The people who made them are dead, but their art is still there. A bunch of dudes 100 years ago sat down and designed this theater. Then more came in and built it. And here I am, sitting there.

Architecture is so awesome in the way that it's interactive. It can survive longer than any human.

also sameee my city has a lot of old architecture (especially my school. some of the buildings are falling apart but they're very old and very pretty) and im like just in awe of it like architecture is an art but it's more than an art because unlike a lot of art it's not just something to look at it's somewhere someone lives or works or goes with friends and makes memories like a lot of art doesnt have a practical function but architecture does and it serves as a setting for so much of people's lives and that's really impactful and so awesome because there's architecture everywhere and it's all so beautiful *dreamy sigh*

also sucks that ur teacher sucked i hate when teachers/profs won't let you do projects on what ur passionate abt like passion is the basis of learning why aren't u supporting that....

Very specific and random ass things ive noticed abt The Handler that I find very epicly epic

-The concave of her maxilla, and the baggy droopiness of her eyes looks just like that of her atrociraptors, and their skull shapes, which I LOVEEEE

-(This one which was a quote from Scott himself) Her freckles are supposed to represent reptilian scales.

-Her looks resemble that of medieval-European beauty standards. (a high forehead was the SHIT back then, when women would also pluck their eyebrows to enhance it.)

-In the show, she seems to look “out of place.” Like she doesn’t belong there, which is because out of all the human characters, she’s the most hyper-realistic which adds to the uncanny vibes we get from her. Like the way we can see the little details and blemishes in her skin, the cracks in her lips, the little chips of her teeth, the redness of her eyes, the facial muscles that contort and stretch so naturally with each movement, she looks TOO REAL to be in a show like Chaos Theory.

-If you look closely at her brows, they are always narrowed, she always has one fixed expression with them, which only changes when she feels stronger emotions, like the ones which we did see her showcase: anger, frustration, excitement?? (realizing the n5 were in the warehouse with her, she did look pretty joyous from finding them and making her job much more easier.) and guilt.

-She blinks very hard and slow…like a reptile, and on the topic of blinking she actually blinks A LOT considering the little screen time she has. (so when someone says “omg she doesnt blink..” theyre lying, she does 💀 shes a human guys even HER eyes get dry sometimes 😞😞)

-The way she slowly turns her head, her pupils almost unmoving is like that of an owl.

-Her perfect posture which never faults unless injured or forced to. Ough its so creepy…

-She’s actually PRETTY TALL. Comparing her to the atrociraptors height (2 metres, 6.6ft when standing tall) shes like around a foot and a half shorter. She could be around Ben’s height, or like an inch or two shorter. (Also compared to Jensen, she’s like 6 or 5 inches taller 💀)

-Her undercut. I love it. I don’t know, it just brings me such joy seeing her silly undercut like HEHEHEHHE I wanna touch her hair it looks so silky and soft but ik damn well that ho 100% uses sum like 12 in 1 soap or sum cheap dollarstore soap since shes always on the go 🙁

-The aura she radiates the second she walks into a room, she’s able to silence the big carnivorous dinosaurs. SHE SILENCED A CARNOTAURUS AND IT LIKE, DROPPED ITS HEAD. Its like death itself looms around her. Wherever she goes, death and destruction follow, and the other dinos can sense it.

-She SWINGS her arms a lot when she walks, not like a little sway like she’s swinging them hoes. Idk if im just crazy but her arms seem to be a sorta big focus? Like the amount of camera zooms on her arms and hands, the way she sways them when she walks, them being the only part of her skin showing other than her collarbone, being knocked unconscious, thats the only other thing visible, her left arm being injured after getting run over. A R M S. (Now that I think abt it, her left arm being injured after getting hit, BROOKLYNN’S LEFT ARM BEING INJURED…was that supposed to be a foreshadow for Brooklynn having a missing arm…)

-Idk how literally no one pointed this out but at the s1 finale, after the showdown, and when she realizes that her raptors are too hurt to continue fighting, a few seconds after she hugs Ghost, when Ghost walks away, The Handler makes this little “hmph 😞” sound AND ITS SO GRGRGGRGRGRGR LIKE SHE SOUNDS SO DISAPPOINTED AND SAD AND GUILTY BUT ALSO RELIEVED AT THE SAME TIME CUZ HER RAPTORS ARE OKAYISH URGGHHHHH 🙁🙁🙁🙁

-When Tiger and Panthera call out to her when they’re injured 🙁🙁🙁🙁🙁

-The way she walks into frame, and stares at Brooklynn before blowing the whistle…its like, WHY? Why did she do that for Brooklynn and not the others?? To pop out and make herself known; did she want herself to be the last thing Brooklynn sees? Was she sure she was gonna die? Does she only pop out when she’s like 90% sure her victims will die? Does THAT mean she sometimes has doubts about if the job will go well or not? Is she secretly full of self-doubt? I mean, she is a very calculated person. Scanning perimeters before acting, cutting down the alarm system at Darius’s cabin, killing off any and all witnesses, it would be strange for her to not have some sort of doubt or paranoia that the job won’t go well. Jensen did said she was “being paranoid” when he was in Ronnie’s house.

-So if I were to carve out a specific personality for her based on that alone, she could be a perfectionist, assertive yet a bit doubtful, paranoid, resilient, relentless, carefully-calculated person.

For a character who only appeared in 3 (4 technically if you count the end of Down on the Ranch) episodes out of 20, she’s a VERY interesting individual, and its clear the writers/artists for her character had to think very creatively and critically about her to make her so impactful to the series for such a mysterious character.

i understand LLMs making you more worried about AI in general, because like, it was all things considered a pretty drastic improvement, unexpectedly, to heights never achieved before. BUT i think its kind of strange to think of LLMs *themselves* as a plausible path to superhuman AI. like. when we scale up (currently, the only known way to get better LLMs), we're not turning some knob somewhere labeled intelligence, we're making it better at producing output like the data set. like, perfect training, zero loss, would just be correctly predicting the token every time. i mean that's impossible of course language is undetermined, but that's what it's moving TOWARDS. i guess you could run it faster than a human? which kind of counts as superintelligence? but like. idk, you couldnt run it THAT much faster than a human. like, LLMs, among all imagined paths to AGI, seem like a particularly benign one. theyre trained to act normal! like not as some additional thing, just directly. thats what the big training stuff goes to. the later RLHF is to stop it producing output like the full range of the internet, which includes lies and nazis and such

I’ll answer a couple from each. You’re welcome to re-ask any that I dont answer if you’d like.

Asylum:

If you were to list off mental illnesses from Cups what would they be?

- Cup doesnt exactly have a mental illness. Moreover the demon blood incident took a harder toll against him and he has a way harder time coping and adjusting to it. The main things being he’s a lot more emotionally volatile and unstable. He’s generally in his right mind from day to day. Just if you get him angry and upset he’s quicker to go into a rampage and those rampages last long. And in general he’s WAAAYYYYYY moodier.

Does Cuphead have medications he takes just to stay sane?

- No medications as of yet. If he WERE then maybe anti-depressants or something to treat anxiety. To help with mood swings and regulating his emotions a bit. But those didn’t exist in the 1920s. They were introduced in the medical field in the 50s. And even then, back in the 20s they didn’t have a good understanding of mental illness. Literally people were put in asylums for having ADHD. So. No. No medications. Or official clinical “treatment” outside of what Flug, Hat, and the Devil did to help.

Lost Toys:

So how does everything exactly work? . . . Does it kinda work like Toy Story?

- Pretty much the thing you said “That one Tayo the bus movie”. You know those stories parent’s tell their children when a pet dies? That they went to a farm or something or a better place to make the child feel better? A way for them to cope? That’s a similar idea that I’m going for. The AU is in a child’s imagination. And it’s their favorite toys going to a magical forest where other lost or forgotten toys go to live in the woods together.

What type of toys have their faces painted?

- Cuphead, mugman, Cala, boris, bendy, holly, and Alice have painted on faces. In a sense.

Angel Blood:

What was Mugman like during the tainted love of bacon chapter?

- Well leading up to the love spell mugs wasnt reacting all that well to the experiments. Trying not to get sick and probably had to sit back a few times. So either he wasn’t there for the love spell or he was still under its effect but didn’t care enough to notice the emotions going on around him. Though it was definitely a LOT. Afterwards tho he’d feel very VERY sick.

What are Cuphead’s coping mechanisms for seeing in the future? If he sees something important, does he write it down?

- He keeps a ‘dream journal’ of sorts in his pocket. He doesnt always write every vision he gets but ones that feel important to him or significant he notes down.

Ghost:

In human form could Cuphead potentially survive out there?

- He couldn’t survive in human form out in space. He’d die of suffocation and prolly extreme temperatures and whatever other stardust is out there

Does Cuphead need food?

- Yes He needs food for energy to sustain his body and soul. Even if he were to stay in his ghost form he’d still loose energy and eventually die.

Mermaid:

- So, a bit on the world building:

Short answer: both.

Long answer: the questers live a nomadic lifestyle (no permanent housing, a lot of traveling, etc) Living that kind of lifestyle is very normal for young adult merfolk. Once they get older they leave their families and go off on their own. Start their own pods, explore the world, and figure themselves out. It’s waaayyy more dangerous that way, especially for lone travelers and children. Which is why they usually stick together in groups. From there when they start their own families or get on in their years some decidedly settle down in more permanent housing. And some stay on the nomadic lifestyle. It’s up to preference.

But there are merman civilizations that exist. Most popular being the lost city of Atlantis. It used to be a kingdom on the surface before it fell into the sea. The humans inhabiting it all died out and merfolks moved in. Fixing it up and making it their own. The lost city is now the equivalent to a large city and it’s highly populated by merpeople.

What kind of fish are they based on?

- Ok. Cuphead is a Lionfish, Mugman is a Blue African Peacock Cichlid or and Electric Blue Hap (I can’t tell the difference. They might be the same things I’m not sure), Bendy is a sea monster, his design is based off of the Pixar movie Luca, Boris is a Great White Shark, Felix is a Black Axolotl, Holly is a Yellow Seahorse, and Alice is a White Opal Betta!

How far away from the mainland do the questers live?

- It varies. But they usually stick kinda close to the mainland rather than far out in the open like most merfolk. They hang out especially along the southern eastern coast of the US in the coral reefs. Like around the Bahamas off the coasts of Florida, Cuba, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic. But they travel other places when they want. Especially for their work, or if they need things that you can only buy in major civilizations.

And a good way to get people interested in your AUs?

Honestly? Just share content. Frequently post art, tease fun things, interact with people in comments or reblogs as much as possible and make as many friends as possible. Build up a community. It’s really, really slow progress. Almost painfully slow. But in the end its worth it.

What if?

Wings of Fire infection/curse AU where the infection is related to the dragons' tribe element.

I see a lot of infection AUs so i wanted to get on the train with my own idea even tho its most definitely not original lol. Here's what I mean tho.

(TW for semi-graphic descriptions of the following: mind hijacking parasitic infection, muscle dystrophy i think its called, stomach parasite, parasitic spores, fatal insomnia, exhaustion, and body decomposition, body horror in general)

For SkyWings, the sky is their element. Infected dragons' scales turn sky blue, starting around the infection site and first attacking the legs in most cases. They become afraid of heights and afraid of landing due to their nonwing limbs starting to fail them. Their fire cools and weakens until all that comes out is blue, dusty smoke, full of spores to infect more dragons. One day, they have an unexplainable urge to fly to the highest point possible...but they are still terrified to land due to their weakened limbs, so they fly around until their lungs and chest muscles give out and they crash land from exhaustion. Once landed and dead----at this point their scales are almost if not entirely blue---the blue, mossy plant sprouts from their body, beginning from the site of infection. If the disease is transmitted through bite, the spread starts there; if the spores are breathed in, it starts from the throat just behind the chin.

For LeafWings, it's plants. Leaves start to grow where they don't normally. Moss covers the dragon. Tails and horns branch out and flower, sending out contagious spores. Dragon movements become sluggish and robotic. At death, they lie down or collapse into the dirt and take root, growing a new plant.

For MudWings, it's less obvious. In earlier stages, the dragon appears distant, and wants less to do with their siblings. Their mood changes. They complain of stomach pain and bloating. They become lethargic for a while, then suddenly extremely anxious. Finally, they go dig a hole and crawl into it, covering themselves with dirt and mud. Soon paralyzed, the dragon will not move until death. Their body sinks into the ground, and a patch of the swamp dwelling infectious plant strain grows unassumingly over top, having taken root in the dragon's abdomen.

In NightWings, it starts with the loss of sleep. The first symptom is that no matter how hard a dragon tries, they cannot sleep. After several days of remaining awake, the infection starts to shpw itself on their scales. Their scales lighten, turning silvery pale like a moonbathed NightWing egg. Hallucinations. Sense of impending doom. Visions that are more like a nightmare, as if the dragon is really there witnessing the worst. Depending on powers, the symptoms are different. In later stages, infected dragons' scales glow in the dark, as do the plants that sprout from their decomposing body after they die.

Cases have not yet been found in SandWings. Their habitat is not suitable for any species of this parasite.

RainWings lose their color change ability in patches, green or white spots growing on their scales until theyre covered. At the last stage, they typically hang from trees by their tails. The plant's branches hang down like vines, and any dragon who walks through the curtain of green is likely doomed.

A SeaWing slowly gets covered in algae. At last, they climb onto the beach and die, and the flowers bloom.

In IceWings, it is rare, but possible. The plant stays deep inside, to avoid the cold of the dragon's habitat. The dragon's limbs become paralyzed one by one, beginning with the wings. Sometimes, in the far north, the plant can freeze and be killed before it kills the dragon, leaving them partially paralyzed; but in the lower arctic tundras, in the summer, it will sprout and kill them.

In HiveWings, it's a lot like ant fungus. They act strange, expressing no emotion or reaction to those around them. Their connection to the othermind is severed; the only plant that controls their mind now is the disease. More often than not, they are executed before the plant can grow, but if they aren't, they will find a high place and then freeze like a statue until the sprout bursts out of the neck, throat, skull, eyes, of their still-standing corpse.

It's the same in SilkWings. Metamorphized Silks are typically immune, but larvae are not.

THE WIND WAKER AHHHHHHHH I love this game SO much, ranked right below OOT and MM for my all time favorites.

One of my biggest critiques of the game is that I wish Aonuma was given the proper time to develop the game since you can tell that there should be more but a lot was cut out for time constraints. Still an incredible game but what I would give to have a full scale sequel or the full scope of the original game T^T!!!

I love this game so much holy shit. What a perfect sequel to the Hero of Time story, what a great continuation of Ganondorf's motive. I definitely wish there was more, esp dungeons and zora and towns, but this game was made pretty quick after MM and on the GC so I know there are limitations. Everything from Link, Tetra, the sound effects, the stylization, the Rito, the Koroks, Ganondorf, oh my god I absolutely adore it. Everything about it is so unique yet having the core Zelda elements within it. I also noticed how many future games took a lot of inspiration from this game, esp TP and TOTK. I also love how involved Tetra/Zelda is to the plot, Link could not have succeeded without her help, esp in the final battle and when saving Aryll. This game gives so much personality and background to Link and Tetra, every single cutscene is such a delight. This would be a super replayable game if my GC wasn't so wonky. Hopefully it'll come back to the switch. I love this game :')

fat boy season get some!! vis was always heavier but really gained weight after becoming king. then lost all that weight as he got sicker. gold>silver. warmer skin tone. freckles. wavy hair. deep violet eye color. dark circles around his eyes. buck teeth, crooked smile, and big ears from alyssa. chin dimple from baelon. never lost the baby fat in his cheeks. average height, but has bad posture so he looks shorter. cares a lot about his appearance/presentation. flamboyant. valyrian fashion done westerosi style/fabrics, lots of jewerly. (maybe some balerion bone/scale jewelry)

when viserys was younger he kept his hair long (usually done back in a loose/lazy braid) and stayed clean shaven. but when he became king he grew his iconic mustache and cut his hair to invent the mullet. im sure theres nothing behind this.

rhaenyra got her habit of playing with her jewelry when anxious from viserys.

when daemon was growing up hed never let the grooms touch him which meant it came down to viserys to make sure daemon was dressed and bathed and had his hair done. viserys was��� not very good at it. (youre PULLING MY HAIR i wouldnt have to PULL if you sat STILL) daemon was his guinea pig to learn. by the time viserys has rhaenyra hes GREAT at it. viserys loved to sit with rhaenyra, give her elaborate braids and swap gossip. daemon gets jealous.

viserys loves babies and babies love him. never met a baby he couldnt make giggle. chronic baby fever. all of viserys children, regardless of how their relationship develops, got spoiled as babies. when theyre still young enough that they wont throw fits about it, he liked to dress them the same as himself. his little mini mes

viserys room is ““organized”” chaos. every surface is stacked high with books and scrolls hes reading, half finished sketches and models. if you ask him if hed like it to be cleaned up he says then he wont be able to find anything! right now he knows exactly where everything is. now ask him to find a specific book he borrowed from the library 3 months ago.

Their heights aren’t accurate in terms of scale (probably) but they are accurate in terms of ‘hey if theyre real people this is how tall they’d be’.

Papyrus ‘Kitty’ does have his Battle Body as this takes place during Undertale but anytime I draw him in it he simply looks like a marshmallow. All three of them have lockets, but Paps’ is in his pocket (you can kinda see it danglin in his shorts pocket). He’s a pain to draw with his lil discoloration patches.

saiki au. its in modern times but fantasy as well. the cast is fantasy creatures and stuff and ive done this in a similar manner a bit ago but ive a betrer idea now

saiki is still a dragon (eastern because noodle) and hiding it, and this time its being theyre nearly extinct and so powerful theyre usually compared to deities and worshipped despite often just wanting to live a normal life just like everyone else

so, aince his humanoid form he can take is kind of an anthropomorphic version of his true form (which isnt all that big, he can function decently well inside of buildings), he pretends to just be a kobold. kobolds here are not known for particularly strong magical prowess and arent all that uncommon.

his scales are white/gray because of his cat form in canon i always tend to do this, and back, head, and tail fur is pink. his kobold form still has fur (but long hair) which makes him a bit of an odd kobold, but its not outrageously suspicious, and can be passed off as odd genetics.

hes smol, only 5 feet or 1.5 meters because hes got quadruped styled legs despite standing on 2 like kobolds do. his true form is a bit taller than nendou in height and is very long.

a strange idea for this au as well is that saikis adopted, his adoptive family (which is his canon family) arent dragons or kobolds. idk what they are but yeah

and heres a quirk of this au that all my aus tend to have before i post them, i just usually cut them out because its getting to the point that its becoming just an original story but these stupidly specific aspects are always in my aus, i just wanted to share ine for once:

while living in the orphanage at a very young age, meaning his magic control was limited (except for his ability to take his kobold form, because hes been practicing that for his whole life because of how his true form is treated), saiki was hit by a car. his healing ability wasnt very refined and his leg was injured pretty gruesomely, and he healed it wrong. it was technically healed even if incorrect and very painful still, though, and he couldn't do anything more to it. its injured permanently, making it hard to walk sometimes if its hurting more than usual, and its generally pretty weak. he uses a cane in private but is sadly a bit too ashamed to bring it in public, despite there being nothing wrong with it

per the scale world models (the closest we get to canon heights for these two), steven is something like 5'10 and wallace is 6'0 but i refuse to acknowledge steven could ever be tall. man radiates short king energy. wallace gives model vibes, so he gets to be extra tall

because of their height difference and difference in body types they can't share clothing but they do share a lot of jewelry.

wallace likes to use very classic pet names, yknow darling, sweetheart, my love, etc

steven had a crush first (yearsss of pining) but wallace was the one to act on the feelings

theyre in the middle for bug because theres no option for "pet the bug because thats armaldo and he lives there too"

neither can drive or have ever taken any lessons. all flying or teleporting by pokemon. or just walking lol

stevens cooking is edible. thats the best you can say. wallace is actually a great cook however.

occasionally holding hands is the most pda they do. steven dislikes pda. wallace doesnt mind it necessarily, but also likes keeping his private life private so he doesn't mind not doing pda.

wallace has had a number of relationships before steven while wallace is stevens first

steven, stemming from years of pining, is more likely to get jealous but doesn't dwell on it for long. wallace meanwhile knows steven doesnt like flirting and attention so theres little jealousy on his side.

they met (for more than one conversation) at 18/19 and 21/22 when steven went to challenge the sootopolis gym. wallace had just taken over by the time steven got there.

right now? my little brothers are about to both start new things which is exciting vicariously but also some friends are in town! hi friends! (<-theyre not on tumblr) and i get to see them soon. yippee!!

20. Are you starting to realize anything?

i realise this every two months but i don't think i want to be a professional artist i just think i want to work in the arts in a guidance role/i get a lot more professional pride and sense of achievement helping someone achieve their goals artistically than i do from achieving my own and honestly im GOOD at support roles like working as basically a pa or editor or whatever. but this means giving up the idea of being acknowledged on a wider scale for my own perspectives and artistic vision and letting myself just be a support role... hmm tough thing to ponder that also doesn't at all relate to my current line of work so like. maybe don't worry about it king (im king)

63. First concert?

this carbon dates who i was online but do you guys remember bry? yeah with the. fabulous foursome (?) (dan phil crabsticks and kickthepj) well on the outside of that group was a fifth guy on youtube called brybry? bribri? it's been YEARS but he made music mostly he was honestly more in the dodie clark sphere of brittube and if i remember right he had a music video or something similar with kickthepj which is how i got into him ANYWAY. he did a tiny uk tour at the height of his popularity and he played a tiny venue near me and i didn't really know him but my friends from the neighbouring secondary happened to give me a lift home the night that he was local (bc i stayed at school late for a netball practice and their school just finished later than mine) and on the drive back they asked if I wanted to come with and since the tickets were like £15 quid and i had lift there and back secured my mom let me. it was honestly pretty cute AND I SAW ORLA GARLAND and got a signed disc of her first ep whose music i still enjoy to this day but idk if that's mostly bc of the nostalgia factor of this cute concert. i got a brybry rubber wristband thing bc those were still a thing for emo bands and my little brother cut it up like two years later in a boredom curiousity way (he was like 7) and i got so disproportionately angry about it that he still recounts it as 'How He Realised Objects Hold Sentimental Value' and he fished the bits out of the trash. i have them in a memory box of that era bc i thought one day i would reconstruct the brybry wristband (which i never wore, bc i didn't feel like enough of a real fan) . yeah
