Barista [Taehyung x Reader]

Summary: Taehyung works at a local coffee shop that is very popular in Korea and when you, a foreigner visiting the coutry step into the shop, he can’t take his eyes off you.

 Finally you saw your dream fulfilled: you have just landed at the Incheon Airport in South Korea. At last you had enough money to afford the trip that you dreamt about, visiting the big cities, traveling with KTX and of course taking a lot of pictures. The flight was tiring, having to change the airplanes at some point because from your country there was no straight flight to Seoul. But the many hours spent on a chair and the slight numbness in your muscles surely didn’t stop you from gushing over the large number of stores, the bright lights and.. just everything, in fact. “I still can’t believe it,” you mumbled to yourself in your native tongue, barely restraining from jumping up and down, causing people to throw weird glances at you.

The second big thing you did, well, according to you at least, was to take a selfie at the airport and brag a little on the social media. After so many years spent watching your friends go abroad and posting a shit ton of pictures, it was your turn too – you were sooo gonna spam every social media account you had. Soon after you posted the picture, you retrieved your luggage and proceeded on the way to exit the airport. It wasn’t that much to walk but you took your time to take in the new surroundings. It didn’t matter that in your haze you also walked straight into some people, earning yourself a tired yet pissed off look from the Koreans along with something that you recognized as “dumb foreigner”.

Once out, the chill night air hit your warm face but it was well received. Inhaling deeply you went to search for a free taxi toward your Korean pen friend’s place. She was kind enough to help you with your stay in her city once she learned that you were about to go and “conquer” Seoul (which actually amused her; it was more like the busy and rather fast pace of Seoul will be the one conquering you, not the other way). The taxi cab was driving past tall glass buildings, restaurants, young people walking back and forth, meeting with their friends, the road – half packed even at such late hour… but the whole atmosphere was definitely new and very well welcomed by your excited self.

“We have arrived,” the driver announced you in a broken English, which only made you smile and hand him the money for the ride with a big smile on your face, thanking him in his native tongue. You weren’t just gonna waste all your Korean lessons, now were you? Even if you still made mistakes while speaking, you were determined more than ever to speak Korean.

“Seo Yun,” you announced in a cheerful voice into the intercom. “I have arrived and now come pick my ass up from here,” you ended your sentence with a chuckle. God, you sounded as if you were drunk or something. Drunk of happiness and still thirsty for adventure.

The girl named Seo Yun laughed and instead opened the door for you, telling you at what floor to stop and that she’ll wait you in the doorway. “But don’t you dare jump on me. Judging by what you told me, you’d knock us both down,” she laughed. Well, that just sucked, from your point of view of course.

“Haaa, so good to lay in a bed,” you sighed loudly. “Flying for… I don’t even remember the number of hours, sure is draining you of your energy.’’

But as soon as you collided in bed, just as fast you were up too, beginning to enumerate what you had to do like taking a shower, then eat, then god knows what anymore.

“Someone is too excited, I see,” she laughed. “Keep it like this and by the end of your trip I’ll have to drug you with pills to calm you a bit,” Seo Yun joked some more. “The shower is that way. Make yourself at home while I go make some ramyeon, ok?”

“And some coffee…”

“So you’ll become a spinning top? In your dreams, baby,” and with that Seo Yun left in the kitchen, leaving you to do your stuff.

Needless to mention that you both didn’t give two shits about the late hour in the night as you ate ramyeon and some cookies specially baked by Seo Yun’s mother and talked about everything. You were glad you found her and became such good friends, it’s something beautiful in a friendship with a foreigner, you have so much to learn from them and viceversa. Eventually you both went to sleep around 7 in the morning and hardly woke up around 10 am to go sightseeing.

Seo Yun has dragged you all over to the most important things in Seoul, telling you great stories about each place, especially the palace – familiar to you thanks to those dramas you’ve watched so far – , soon following the shopping time. In just one day you visited almost three shopping malls and a big library, not able to help yourself and buying some books. As you followed Seo Yun all over the place like a puppy, the other citizens only chuckled.

“Icecream or cotton candy?” the girl asked.

“Hmm… Hard choice”, you chuckled, analysing her dollface like. “Icecream,” you answered with a loud laugh as Seo Yun was about to run after you.

Sitting now on a bench as you rested your feet and enjoyed the icecreams you bought, you noticed the café across the street. It had a puppy paw besides the steaming coffee mug. Since it was a bit far away you struggled at first to read the name.

“It reads The Puppy’s Coffee Shop,” Seo Yun translated for you. “Their coffee is very good and it’s a popular café in this neighbourhood. Plus, you can play with puppies while you drink,” she chimed.

Whatever she said afterwards didn’t matter, you were thinking only about those little four-footed playful puppies and how you’d cuddle them and never let go. You were daydreaming so much that the icecream began melting and run down your fingers making them sticky, while Seo Yun waved her hand in your face.

“Earth to Y/N, are you still here?”                  

“Can we go in?” you asked impatient. “I can bet those tiny creatures are waiting for me to pet them.” This only got the Korean girl to chuckle at you, finding your enthusiasm quite amusing and refreshing at the same time.

“Coffee after icecream?” she questioned in a mocking tone, wearing a grin.

“It’s my stomach, shut up,” you dismissed her as you tugged at her hand. “Now be my guide and let’s go there,” you smiled brightly. Seo Yun laughed some more and led you to the coffee shop across the street.

Once in there you let out a loud whoah at the rather big space, the smell of coffee filling your nostrils and the innocent and cute barking from the puppies running all across the place.The walls were a burgundy color, the furniture a nice dark cherry contrasting perfectly and near the three sofas that were there, baskets for the puppies have been laid down. The shop was mostly filled with young people and their cheerfulness echoed in every corner. Seo Yun noticed how your eyes lit up in pure joy, picking a small Golden Retriever as the puppy bumped with your leg.

“Look at how adorable he is!” you said loudly, rubbing your cheek against his tiny head. His small tail fluttered in happiness at the love he received.

“Y/N…” Seo Yun tried but it was pointless, you were long lost as you sat on an empty sofa and tickled the puppy.

Seo Yun shook her head with a small chuckle as she went to the bar, where a young man with a big smile adorning his face, soft black and disheveled hair and a cute mullet, piercings in both his ears was taking the orders… My, he is beautiful, the girl thought and immediately a smirk bloomed on her lips.

“Yes, how may I help you?” the boy named Taehyung, according to his name tag, asked with the same glee.

“I would like two coffees, please. Oh, and my friend there,” and she pointed towards an oblivious you who was still playing with the puppy, “thinks you look cute.”

Well, the barista surely didn’t expect that but knowing it wasn’t the first time he got complimented, he just smiled politely and thanked for it. But when he saw that Seo Yun made another reference to his looks ( “She also said that this hairstyle suits you very well” ), he finally looked over at you. For a brief second Taehyung got before you moved again, he caught a glimpse of your facial features, the way your hair was done, even the shirt that you wore. The boy blinked a few times and even if he looked and saw Seo Yun, his mind was already projecting your figure in front of him.

“Hello,” she chuckled as she waved her hand in his face.

“U-uhh, oh yeah, the coffees, right away…” Taehyung stuttered. “So, she’s a foreigner?”

“Yep, my friend from a distant country. She’s staying with me during her trip in Korea. And she speaks a bit of Korean too,” she teased. “Would you like me to introduce you to her?”

At that unexpected proposition Taehyung blushed, however he didn’t answer a clear yes or no, and so Seo Yun grinned and noted in her mind that this could go well. Being your best friend for almost three years and the one to run to when no one from your friends would listen to you, of course she knew some of your preferences. That included: one, you were still single and two, you expressed your wish of trying to be in a relationship with a Korean man.

“What’s taking so long?” you appeared out of nowhere beside your friend, speaking in English. Taehyung almost burned himself with the boiling water at the sound of your voice. He understood English on a conversational level but still had some issues here and there.

“Just ordered the coffees, done with playing already?”

“Took a break, the puppy left me for a little girl,” you pouted cutely. “I feel betrayed. And he offered such good hugs too…” you sighed amused. Taehyung however thought otherwise, I could offer good hugs too, warmth, make you laugh just as the puppy had made you…

Taehyung shook his head, getting rid of those thoughts this way but caught your eye. Usually you’d be shy around new people, especially in a foreign country, but you felt like a social butterfly right now and so you flashed him one of your warm smiles and said hi to him in Korean. He could have sworn his heart skipped more than one beat.

Handing you both the cups of coffee, you noticed the designs on them: Seo Yun had a leaf design, while you had many hearts on it. Seo Yun grinned in his way, but you were too busy to smile like an idiot and even take a picture of it. So innocent, Seo Yun and also Taehyung thought at that moment. Before you could walk away, Taehyung spoke slowly in English, in a deep voice, “Hope you will come back soon?” You stared for a moment at the tall boy before a grin bloomed on your face and nodded.

Back at Seo Yun’s place and about to throw your cup of coffee, you noticed a small piece of paper stuck on it. Picking it and unfolding it, you tried to read his messy handwriting and understand it. Out of nowhere someone was over your shoulder and giggled, translating the small note.

“So someone got a crush on you, hm,” she teased. “Tomorrow at the same hour?” Seo Yun winked, making you blush.

“Your imagination…”

“I noticed how you were looking at him too. You two were analysing yourselves. What if he asks you for a date?” she smiled big, making you even more shy.

You suddenly excused yourself and went to bed, leaving Seo Yun laughing in the living room. In your room now and under the warm blankets, the young man suddenly appeared with his signature smile. Unconsciously, your fingers started caressing on your pillow, pretending it was his hair, locking your fingers in his mullet. Maybe hearing his deep voice talking to you, sending shivers down your spine and pulling you closer to his body, his steady heartbeat lulling you to sleep. And before you knew it, you indeed fell asleep with a small smile in the corner of your mouth.

The next day went the same, with some teasing from your friend and eventually returning to the café. Seo Yun was the first to notice Taehyung’s face light up at the sight of you. Pulling you after her to sit at the bar, Taehyung almost missed the orders because he was getting lost in your mere presence. For the first time you were chill too, not running around like a small child; instead you focused on his skilled hands preparing that delicious black liquid, pouring milk and doodling a leaf, a heart or a cloud. You started to bit on your lower lip, unaware you were in fact falling for the barista man. And unbeknownst to you, Taehyung was slowly falling for you too.

Time to time sipping coffee or staring at him doing his job, Seo Yun silently observing your actions, Taehyung feeling your gaze on him… This is how the rest of the day went by. When Seo Yun announced it was time for you two to leave, it was already past 9:30, meaning his shift was nearing its end as well. Your small plea of staying a little longer only made Taehyung’s heart grow a bit more, as well as Seo Yun’s grin.

“Well, I guess we’ll meet tomorrow?” this time Taehyung asked in Korean as he closed the shop after feeding the puppies, standing pretty tall compared to you.

“Yes,” you answered with a smile also in Korean, earning yourself a boxy smile from him and to ruffle your hair.

Each day went by like this, until the fourth one, when Seo Yun didn’t tag along and you were left alone with him all day. It was a bit awkward now, him working and you only wasting time there or playing with the puppies. But it meant for both of you a lot. Maybe you didn’t talk a lot, however it didn’t mean that you weren’t getting closer and closer to each other by the second.

“Y/N, wanna go have lunch with me? I’m on my break,” Taehyung announced and you nodded. Out of instinct, he took your hand in his and you let him intertwine his long fingers with yours. “Such small hands, I’m dying,” he cooed in a childish voice.

All the way to the nearest park he kept teasing you about your fingers or height, and despite your blush and pouts, you found the teasing hilarious too. He served you some cookies and also one of his homemade kimbap. When you moaned in delight, Taehyung swallowed hard – the moan wasn’t expected.

“I’m taking it you like it,” he chuckled.

“Teach me how to make it!” you said impatiently, not even properly swallowing the food.

“So, for how long will you stay here in Korea?” he asked out of curiosity, trying to ignore the rice that got stuck to your left corner of mouth. Secretly, he hoped for a longer period.

“Well, I was thinking until the next Sunday…” but you cut yourself to let some suspense grow a bit, feeling sorry instantly for tricking him when he pouted. “Buuut…”

“Buut???”

“I might consider studying here at Seoul National University, thanks to Seo Yun's pestering,” you laughed. “I considered for a year to start studying somewhere abroad but– “ you got cut off as Taehyung hugged the life out of you, happy to hear you’ll be staying longer.

“That’s good news! I’m so happy!”

“Why?”

“Because I can do this and not feel like you’ll slip right through my fingers,” Taehyung gazed a bit longer into your eyes before he kissed the corner of your mouth, cleaning it off from the rice, and then properly sharing a kiss with you.

The kiss was slow, innocent, a silent confession of how he’s felt for the past four days since he met you. And he was more than happy when he felt your fingers interlock in his smooth hair, gently tugging, a silent demand for him to do more. Taehyung wrapped his arms around your waist and sat you on his lap,  one of his hands going to cup your cheek and tilting your head slightly so he could deepen the kiss. The small sound of pleasure that emerged from within your throat was almost like a purr to his ears.

“So, tomorrow after work, at my place so we can have a proper romantic date?” Taehyung glued his forehead to yours, his boxy smile returning.

“Why wait so long when we can have that date tonight?” you teased him, biting playfully his bottom lip.

“Playing with fire, baby? You’ll get burned” he grinned in return.

“I can’t wait then.”

Hey there guys, I know i took quite long, but I really hit some language block there >.

I really hope you like how this turned out, I am a bit unsure myself, because I was met with so many problems I got stuck at? Like, what kind of rooms did Nobles have? What do you find in the middle of a forest? How can I introduce new characters without them being eventually absolutely and completely proven as wrong and unreasonable by cannon in time? 

I found no answer to the latter, sadly. If anyone would like to give me constructive criticism, hit me up, Im down to learn!

Also the scenario is under the cut cause it did turn out quite long (about 4800 words) and i feel bad for spamming the tag.

He didn’tcare about where he went, his mind was still reeling with all these thoughtsabout what happened.

Nozel touching someone else…Nozel kissingsomeone else…Nozel cheating on him…

Leon wasbarely aware of his surroundings, he was in full flight modus. His anger andfear threatened to swallow him, and truly, he didn’t know what he would do ifhe would lose himself completely in his emotions.

He saw fireflickering in area around him, coming to life due to violent outbursts of hismana, which were a direct reaction to the images haunting his mind. It was likehe tried to burn away what had happened but instead he just damaged the housesand streets in his way.

Thank god there are no humans out right now.

It was ahuge loss of control, something he had never experienced before.

He lookedup at the sky. It was sunny and clear and really not what he needed right now.Soon people would start to go about their day, shopping, playing, talking… ahappiness he wouldn’t be able to bear.

He foundhimself on the outskirts of the city soon, behind it fields and forests. Heused his enforcement magic to charge straight into the woods.

Thewilderness of clover embraced him. He came to in a place where the sun barelymanaged to breach through the leaves.

He felttired and without direction.

Now he waslost in more than one way.

He sat downon a fallen tree, and just stared out into the dimly light forest.

He feltinterestingly calm, no, numb would be a better word for it. He knew it was thecalm before the storm, the ebbing away of all the water before the tsunami cameback to relentlessly crush all that was in its path.

And thatwould be his heart.

After allthat had happened, he knew, it was going to be painful. And that he would neverbe the same again.

It had tohappen any minute now. The emotions would drown him, he would not withstand andbe torn to shreds.

I will just stay here and become new soil forthe kingdom. Alone. In peace. Never to be hurt again. Never to be loved again.And also, never to love. Just calm and empty like these woods.

He sank hishead between his hands.

‘Wow Leon,aren’t you a little melodramatic now? Dying from heartbreak? Oh god, this iswhat my I have become’

Tearswelled up in his eyes and he buried his face even deeper in his hands.

A sobwrecked through his body, silent and calm, like the nature around him, givingno hint as to what was going on inside him.

‘Don’tworry, you have been this much of a sensible idiot since your birth! Believeme, I was there.’

Thefamiliar voice behind him made his body tense, he didn’t dare breathe.

This place is not so empty after all, it seems…

‘And now,how about you tell me why you came thrashing through my hunting grounds like awounded beast? You really disturbed my prey, you know that? You better repay mein sake!’ A throaty and warm laugh echoed through the glade.

He mentallybraced himself to face her.

‘Oy, youknow we don’t see each other that often, so how about you use that chance andat least talk to your sister!’ A warm hand was placed on his shoulder and hetwitched unconsciously before relaxing into the touch.

She satdown next to him on the tree trunk, facing him, without ever stopping to talkto him.

‘Especiallyafter I came all the way here to find out why you are so sad. So how about youtell me why you are crying, you little idiot brother of mine, hm?’

The lastwords had a rather fond and soft tone, and Leon grimaced at the thought of justhow miserably he must look right now that even Mereo would show concern likethis.

He took adeep breath and might or might not remove some snot with his sleeve, nothing hewould ever confess to if asked, then turned a bit more in her direction.

‘Just arough day, nothing to worry about.’

Mereoleaned back a bit, looking at him with a face that clearly showed that shewasn’t buying any of that.

Leonaverted his eyes.

‘Really.’

He felt asmack on the head, the pain shortly rendering him helpless, and found himselfin his sister’s grip, held by his collar. She was pissed.

‘I wouldsuggest you not trying to lie to me so badly, especially when I am here tryingto look out for your stupid ungrateful ass. I know exactly what you are likewhen you are throwing tantrums, and this here is not this. So, you have tenseconds to spill and tell me who’s ass I have to kick for making me see mylittle brother cry.’

He reallyappreciated her words, he knew she meant well, and he was equally touched tosee her care and glad that she was there for him. He could not, though, bringout the words for the life of him.

Every timehe tried, it felt like the words were stuck to his throat, drying it up andmaking him swallow hard. He felt like they were plugging his lungs, making ithard to breath. He was drowning again.

Also, themental images of Nozel loving another man came back, and so did hisall-crushing-tsunami-wave-of-emotions.

He wasembarrassed with Mereo seeing him like this, tearing up and choking on hiswords. He felt hot and cold and started to get dizzy, too.

He was awreck.

Mereoloosened the grip on his collar and just placed a hand at the side of Leon’shead.

He looked ather face, which was so similar to his own, and was met with a stern andconcerned look which he probably would have given himself if he would havecaught himself like this, lost, panicking and in the middle of nowhere. Heclosed his eyes.

This isn’t like you Fuegoleon Vermillion. Youare more than this. And it is time to face reality, and to let her help, if shecan. You shouldn’t be alone. You aren’t alone.

‘Nozel,he…he cheated on me’

His wordswere quiet, and when he didn’t hear an answer he wasn’t even sure he actuallyspoke them out loud.

He openedhis eyes, and through the blurry veil caused by his tears he saw Mereo’s faceunchanged. Leon blinked his tears away, though one escaped him and rolled downhis cheek.

Suddenly anerve on the woman’s face twitched, her grip on his shoulder got painful and thetemperature in the close area rose drastically. Her face showed pure anger, anda fire burned in her eyes like it came straight from hell.

Then herexpression calmed down. She was still furious, but the temperature went backdown to normal.

‘Do youwant me to take care of him?’ was her only question.

He shookhis head.

‘Actually,I just wanted to get my thoughts straight in peace. Can’t be in the city rightnow.’

‘Mind if Istay?’

She tookher hands of him and started to rummage through her clothes, bringing out aflask which she then offered to him.

Hegratefully took it.

‘No, not atall.’

The twosiblings stayed in the forest next to each other for hours, not saying much.They just passed the flask between each other, until Mereo left for a while andcame back with two bottles of sake. They continued to get drunk in silent, butfor Leon it was so weirdly comforting that she was there for him. She might be alittle rough around the edges sometimes, but she was a strong shoulder to leanon. And get smashed with.

He sighedas he emptied his bottle, knowing that it was time to get back. He had a job todo in the morning, a life to continue. No, a new life to start. After all theseyears with Nozel by his side it would feel weird and empty.

Just wrong…

His heartstarted to hurt again, and he rubbed over his eyes to get those damn persistenttears to go away.

Mereo nextto him just watched him silently, then shook her head.

‘You know,I would ask you if you would like to talk about your feelings, but we both knowthat this is not my forte.’

‘Is okay.Would be to weird, too, considering that we never did something like thatbefore.’

He grimacedat the thought of how that would conversation would go.

She laughedout loud.

‘Yeah,let’s not start with that. I guess, it was always Nozel you had been talking toabout your feelings and all that.’

He met hergaze.

‘And Ithink you should go and talk to him again.’

He wasconfused. This advice wasn’t quite what he thought he would get. He expectedmore of ‘Kick his ass out of your house’, ‘Burn the scum to smithereens’ or‘Lets just punch someone in the face’.

But he hada feeling deep in his gut that she was giving him a better advice than that.

Still… I can’t just go back and forgive himlike that.

He furrowedhis brows and looked away.

‘I don’tthink that this will be the best plan of action, sister.’

‘Listen, Iknow you think I just gave you some stupid advice here, and if I wouldn’t be sosure that an inept, socially clueless man like Nozel, who needed years to figureout his feelings for you and then proceeded to waste even more years to takeevery damn step as small as possible, just to be safe, just doesn’t have it inhim to cheat. Like, seriously, he is not one to rush into things like we do,and your guy really does have one hell of a one-track mind when it comes toyou. Has he actually told you what happened?’

Leonthought about it. His heart started to flutter in anticipation of a newrevelation. It was an unbelievingly uplifting feeling after all the dread ofthe day.

Well, she is right. He really is not quite likethat at all. And I left before he could tell me exactly what happened.Maybe…maybe there is still hope for us?

But what if not? What if my fears are true andhe really did intentionally cheat on me? Then this will hurt twice as bad asbefore an I really might lose myself.

‘Listen, ifI am wrong and he really is such scum, you can merrily come back here and staytill all my sake is gone. Also, you might as well tell me that I have beenwrong. But now GO, you look like you’ve got constipations, for god’s sake, sohow about you try to do something instead of just looking stupid.’

Yep, really not the best with emotionalpep-talks. Whatever, I might as well try.

He kissedher forehead.

‘Thank you,sister’

‘Get thehell out of here, you idiot brother. You can just follow your path ofdestruction out.’

He quickly left the small place behind and didas Mereo said. The path of burned Plants and ground led him back oud of theforest, then back to the city, then back to the house.

It was themiddle of the night, the houses were dark, and it was quite chilly. In thealready dark forest he hadn’t realized how much time had passed.

He took onelast glance at the building he had so many pleasant memories with. Memoriesinvolving Nozel.

He went upthe stairs leading to the door. Before he could touch it, it was openedalready.

Nozel stoodbefore him, blue eyes wide and adorned by dark shadows under them, face paleand puffy. He looked more horrible than this morning, and it was obvious thathe had been crying the whole time, too.

Leon didn’tknow how to react. On one hand, he didn’t want to do anything more than to justhold the man before him, have him feel better, but he was hurt, too, and hecouldn’t just swallow down the anger inside him, caused by the memories of allthe pain and grieve of today.

‘You’reback.’ Came the choked statement from the man before him.

He held hisgaze.

‘I am. Ithink we should talk.’

Nozellooked down and let Leon in.

They foundthemselves back at the Kitchen table where it all started, both equipped withtea, both not saying a word.

Leondecided to make the first step.

‘I want toknow what happened. All that happened, and just why. I am not here to forgiveyou yet, but I want to know if I should invest energy in trying to at all or ifit is a lost cause.’

Nozel nodded, then he shakily breathed in andstarted to tell Leon all that had happened.

Not onlydid he have to spend a night and maybe even half a day with most of hisrelatives, no, the heart kingdoms royalty was there to visit the Silva’s anddiscuss some business with them. It was no big and very official event, sothere was no need to host a big party, but it was still expected of Nozel asthe eldest son to be present, involved and courteous.

He wasn’tin the mood to be any of that, really.

But well,there he was, dressed in a new suit, ready to leave for his family’s mainestate and spend the evening with fake compliments, useless chatter and thenalso punching out some contracts with the hearties in private, when all hewanted was to drink a glass of wine in peace, finish his book and stay withLeon.

Sadly, theredhead couldn’t accompany him, as it was a ‘Silva’s-only’ event and his familywasn’t that accepting of their relationship yet. They always hoped they couldfind him a nice fiancée, so he could get married and produce lots of heirs.Also, the whole Silva and Vermillion issues really sat deep within hisrelatives.

He went bythe living room, where he found Leon lounging on the sofa, doing just exactlywhat he wanted to do, too, and pouted a bit.

Leon sawhim standing in the door and put his book down.

‘Well,hello there handsome. I see you are all ready to go?’

Nozel steppedover to him and took a sip from Leon’s wine.

‘Now I am.Even though I’d rather not stay away to long, I am afraid I will be back aroundnoon tomorrow. Sure you can handle staying alone this long without causingtrouble, Vermillion?’

Leon shothim a grin.

‘Lookingfor a way out there, Silva? I am sorry to disappoint you, but I will be fine.Even though I can’t wait to have you back here, so I can get you out of thissuit.’

Nozel feltthe redheads hand wander to his hips, ready to pull him into his lap.

Now it wasNozel’s turn to grin at him. He leaned down, placing his hands left and rightof Leon’s head on the back of the sofa.

‘Yeah? Wellthen, I better hurry up, not that you come after me just to do so.’‘Oh yeah, you better. And make sure nobody kidnaps you from the streets, youlook way to good like this.’

Nozelsmiled at that compliment and pressed one soft kiss on Leon’s mouth.

‘Thank youvery much. But now I have to get going, so get your hands of my ass,Vermillion.’

Leonlaughed and did as he was told. The silver haired stood up and then gatheredthe rest of his belongings he would need, like his keys and his coat.

‘Have fun tonight Nozel. And don’t do anything I wouldn’t do.’

‘Likestaying sober? Don’t worry, I hadn’t planned on doing that anyways.’

The lastthing he heard when the door closed behind him was Leon’s warm laugh fillingtheir home.

Yeah, hereally couldn’t wait to get back here fast enough.

‘Ah, LordSilva. Exactly on time, your family awaits you in the dining hall.’

Heacknowledged the Servants greeting and headed of to the named location.

‘Have theroyals from Heart kingdom arrived yet?’

‘No, not yetsir, but they are expected to arrive in the next half hour.’

Very well, that gives me enough time tomentally brace myself for this circus.

The meetingwith his relatives was as cold as always. It was like a trademark of the Silva’s,the unfamiliarity of this family.

Theanticipation in the room was nearly tangible, as many of the people presentexpected great business advantages being born from this evening. The want toget richer even overpowered the cloud of boringness which hung low over theroom.

The constantchatter over trivial things came to a halt when a servant announced the arrivalof the esteemed royals of the heart kingdom.

They were a bunch of redheads,funnily enough. The representatives were 5 people, 3 Males of various age and 2females.

Nozel, and probably many of theother Silva’s, instantly thought of the younger Vermillion generation, butbesides the hair colour and the gender distribution, there was nothing incommon.

Even the hair was a darker shade ofred, more like red wine than fiery gold Vermillion.

He was introduced to the Royals bythe current head of house Silva, and while greeting a male that was around hisage he found himself observed thoroughly by dark brown eyes in a golden skinnedface.

The other male held his hand asecond longer than necessary, too.

He kept up his noble façade as muchas possible, but he felt the need to raise a brow at the mans behaviour,something that must have set of some sort of a challenge. The taller man shothim a small grin, and he knew this night just got even more arduous.

Its got to be this damn suit. I should have stayed home after all, atleast my redhead knows how to flirt without nearly making a scene. And this wasonly the first greeting, too.

He supressed a sigh. 

At thetable, when they began their meal courses, he found himself sitting across thebold man.

That one hadno problem starting a conversation with him, and only him. All those who triedto get in would be casually thrown off, when the redhead would ask directquestions at Nozel.

The latterwas slowly getting more and more annoyed. The rules of being a good hostwithout bringing shame to your family involved answering all questionsappropriately, but it also kept him from getting a real chance to eat anythingfrom the 5 courses that were presented.

To makematters worse his wine glass was constantly refilled, and it seemed to be acustom of the Heart kingdom to toast at every given chance, so he was forced todrink more over a short amount of time than he actually liked.

After themeal was finally over he felt dizzy and tired.

God, I want to go home so badly. This is all sobothersome and stupid, and this damn hearty is driving me nuts.

Stay strong Nozel, not much longer until youand Leon can have a good laugh about it all.

The peoplepresent in the room started to leave the dining hall, the men for the cabinetwhere they were going to talk about a possible new treaty which actually hadbeen discussed between the families for a while now and was nearly ready to befinalized, now it was just a matter of details and handshakes until the wealthcould start to accumulate.

As expectedit all went over smoothly and both parties were content with their shares ofthe deal. The mood was great and the head of the Silva’s ordered champagne tocelebrate the new business relationship and even some cigars.

Nozel wasglad that the most sensitive part of this get together ended in such afavourable way and looked forward to soon escape the burning looks from theyoungest Heart royal.

But thequick getaway turned out to be wishful thinking.

Again, hefound himself caught in an endless circle of toasts and refilled glasses, andhe felt how he slowly lost his cool demeanour.

His face wasquite flushed, and he really had to concentrate on his words as not to slurthem in an undignified way.

Suddenly hefound himself cornered by the hearty again, asking him a million questions, onebolder than the other.

An ‘Are youavailable, by any chance?’ caught him finally of guard and he couldn’t help butlook at the other with an I-beg-your-pardon-mimic.

I never thought I would meet someone with lessclass than solid. At least he wouldn’t dare to ask that sort of question tosomeone in a room full of business partner. The insolence, I swear.

 But theother wasn’t done yet. He sneakily placed a hand on Nozel’s hip, close to howLeon had earlier that evening, and added up on his question.

‘Like, areyou single?  Because I think we shouldget to know each other better.’

Seeing thisas the last straw he decided to leave the room for the night, stating importantmagic knight captain duties as the reason to head to bed now and leave earlierthan anticipated tomorrow.

After thedoor closed it hit Nozel just how bad the air inside had been, with numerouscigars being lit in a sealed room. He was hungry, drunk and the world turnedaround him. Also, he was unbelievably tense.

A suddenbout of feeling sick had him quickly stepping out on a balcony that wasconveniently near. He gripped the balustrade for support and closed his eyes,so his view would stop spinning just for a few seconds.

God, the last time I couldn’t see straight I atleast had Leon with me. I want him here now. I want him to take me home.

He felt ahand on his shoulder and nearly jumped before turning around. All he saw was atall man with red hair and his brain set off a little firework of endorphins

He really came!

Nozel smiledat the other and put his arms around his neck, still not quite able to focushis eyes.

‘Speak ofthe devil, there you are. Are you finally going to get me out of this damn suitnow, or what?’

He heard adeep chuckle, it sounded a bit off but before he could spend much thought onit, a hot mouth met his own, aggressively kissing him while pressing his backagainst the balustrade.

The redheadplaced a knee between his legs and added pressure while one hand wandered downto Nozel’s ass and stayed there in a firm grip.

The Silvamoaned at the feeling of all this, and he wanted to retaliate the administrationsby moving his head to the others neck and covering the area in attention.Before he could even get really started he felt a harsh tug at his hair and hishead was pulled back up again.

Thisdispleased Nozel very much, he hated it when someone mistreated his hair andLeon knew that!

Oh, I’m going to top for this. How dare he!

The sightof the scowl on his face was seemingly only amusing to the other, who laughedand then again pulled at his hair to get better access to his ear.

A stranger’svoice spoke to him, his hot breath felt like it left scorched marks on Nozel’sskin as the words reached him.

‘Nuh-uhBabe, I am the one in command here, get used to that. And now stop pouting, ifyou really want to suck something so badly I am sure I got just the right thingfor you later!’

And thenhe bit in his ear.

All sirensin Nozel’s head went loose and he pushed the other off him, who looked quitepissed and insulted at the smaller mans actions. Nozel stared at him, eyes widein panic and confusion.

All theSilva could see were deep red hair, darker skin and brown eyes that shot himangry glares.

This is not Leon! Oh god, this is NOT my Leon!!What have I done? I just… Oh my god, I can’t…I can’t breathe, I got to get outof here.

Nozel casteda magic spell to fly away from the balcony, leaving his family behind withoutan explanation would surely earn him a scolding some other time, but right nowhe felt sick and dirty and like he had to throw up any minute now.

The othermans taste in his mouth was haunting him, it felt so wrong he wanted to cry.

He cursedthe whole damn evening, the whole damn heart kingdom and most importantly hiswhole damn stupid reckless self for letting his guard down and not being ableto hold his liquor.

I just want to go home. I just want Leon rightnow.

But how am I going to explain to him what justhappened? What I just did?

Oh, dear god, I just cheated on him, didn’t I?

Or not?

I’m so confused. I’m so so tired.

What am I going to do now?

‘And thenI decided to sleep on the couch, because I didn’t want you having to sleep nextto me after all that, and also because I was too drunk to make it up the stairswithout waking you. That’s where you found me, and now we’re here.’ Came theewhispered conclusion of Nozel’s nightmare evening.

Leon wassilent, having to take this all in was quite something.

Yes, now we are here.

And I am none the calmer. If I ever meet that manI will punch him in the face for just…being so disgusting.

He pinchedthe bridge of his Nose and closed his eyes. He was tired and getting a headache.That came with the unusual amount of tears this day, it seemed.

He sighedand took the others pale form in. He looked so small and ashamed that Leon reallycouldn’t bare it. It was a cursed day for sure. 

At least it came with my sister and her unusualbout of wisdom, too.

‘So, youonly kissed the man because you thought he was me, correct?’

Nozelnodded.

‘And youstopped the second you realized it wasn’t me?’

Again nodding.

Againsilence.

Basically, he didn’t cheat on me with theintention to cheat. He just mistook the man for me and made out with him, whichstill makes me mad beyond believe, but…but I guess we can work it out?

‘Nozel?’

‘Yes?’

‘I amstill mad. And disappointed and hurt, and I can’t quite forgive you for allthat happened today.’

The otherbit his lips and looked away. Leon could see a suspicious shimmer in Nozel’seyes and knew the other bit back tears.

‘But I don’tblame you for yesterday. I believe you, when you say you made a mistake byconfusing the man with me, so well, I_ I would like to give you, us, anotherchance. Would you like to try to do so, too?’

Now the tearsfell from Nozel’s eyes as the Silva silently cried. He looked like he couldn’t believehis luck. Then he nodded again before hiding his face in his hands. A sobwrecked through his body and Leon was up by his side in a heartbeat.

‘Oh god,Leon, I am so sorry.’

Heembraced to other and felt comfort at how well their bodies fit together. Hepressed his head down in the others hair, feeling how his own tears came backto his eyes.

Thisreally had been a stressful day, but he also realized how much he had neededthis hug, this comfort today. He felt like his heart started to heal. Slowly,but it did.

‘It’sgoing to be okay, okay?’

Nozelnodded against his chest, and they both stayed like this for a small eternity,just crying and holding each other, recovering from wounds they neveranticipated.

As theygrew tired they moved to the couch, just sitting close and kissing each other’stears away.

They fellasleep holding each other close, as the light of a new day shone through thewindows.

It waslike a promise of warmth and a new beginning.

A promiseof healing.

A promiseof loving.

A promiseof hope.

And inhope have faith.

Stressed Out MC feat. RFA

(Hello everyone! Here I thought I’d demonstrate an example of my writing style. I hope you all enjoy it.)

Seven

×Youve been nothing but supportive for him, encouraging him, and attempting to be closer only for him to push you away.

× While dealing with guests and with Seven constantly avoiding you, it’s no wonder you’re starting to lose your head a little.

× It just so happens that a crying MC curled up in a ball with her phone in her hand was enough to indicate to Seven how much you were suffering.

× He instantly attempted to call you, but the tables turned when you hit the decline button.

×Seven swore under his breath as he contemplated what to do, he knew that her pain wasn’t a joke. He swore this was a disaster but there was no other way around it. He constantly called you, repeatedly while his eyes remained undetering from the screen.

×After all the times that you’ve been there for him, he had to be there for you. So when you answered the phone..

×Silence was on the other end. “MC? I’m so so so so sorry!” Seven pleaded, guilt written in his features. But, only you couldn’t see it.

��"I know I’ve not been there, and I’ve been a huge prick. You’ve been doing so much for the RFA-“

×You sobbed, saying you were stressed. The conversation led to him attempting to make you laugh, all while ending with him spamming you with memes. And nothing could pull this night off with the sincerest of words.

Zen

× With home life, and the RFA, and the secrets of Rika’s apartment and everyone’s expectations of you. You burst into a loud fit of sobs that seemed to echo throughout the only memory of Rika: her apartment.

×You were constantly held up to a standard, everyone’s offered their help. However, to Zen you were a beautiful constellation in his eyes. When he didn’t see you in the chatroom, answering in a vague tone. Your man got worried.

×Zen called, only for him to hear sniffling on the other end. His heart sank as you tried to compose yourself.

×"Z-zen?“ You managed to mutter as you wiped your cheeks with the back of your hand. Damn, that should have been him. Between his cast, his rehearsals, he couldn’t have seen sooner just how much you were suffering.

× "What’s the matter?” Zen cooed, “Where are you right now?”

“At the apartment.”

Zen felt a lightbulb go off in his head.

“Give me an hour.”

He hung up rather abruptly, leaving you confused and a tad disheartened. But in that hour later, Zen was a man of his word.

“I’m giving you a ticket to one of my shows! Come over!”

Of course you couldn’t reveal the apartment aadress, but, you awaited at a different location while Zen showed up wearing a biker jacket and a pair of jeans. Damn, he looked like a model. You couldn’t help but be in awe.

His smirk quickly vanished as easily as it appeared as his form was infront of you. Cupping your cheeks with his hand. He showered you with kisses and helped strap a helmet onto you.

× Bonus points for your arms being wrapped around his waist.

When you got to his home, which you have been here before. (I mean c'mon you two are dating) he attempted to make a meal with the ingredients he got, but..only to fail miserably when the rice was burning.

You two cooked together, and watched you in adoration from time to time. He knew you both were stealing looks at each other.

He led you to the couch, and cleared his throat. You couldn’t help but widen your eyes when you saw Zen dramatically pose. It was a One Man Show. This man proceeded to take your breath away. When the show was over, he had fallen to the ground (this guy’s an actor)

Gasping, you rushed to his side and he sat up with a grin.

“The touch of a princess will always awaken your prince.”

You felt your eyes prick with tears and a wide grin wavered through your lips. This was the most that anyone had ever done for you. Before he could retort with concern, you tackled him into a hug before adorning his beautiful features and spirit with feather light pecks.

“This night has been amazing. I love you, so much.” You whispered as you lay on top of him.

Zen smiled warmly as he looked up at you, and turned to switch sides. He was now on top, with his hand pressed to your cheek.

“Every night is amazing when I’m with you.”

That night turned to a sensual Makeout session, and a rather adorable movie night.

Work was especially tiring this particular day. With women throwing themselves at his feet, in appraisal of his money and finances: He could only politely excuse himself from the crowd while his sole thoughts remained on MC.

Stress ate at him throughout the day, and just when he had a break: he decided to send a text message to his wonderful lover.

“Women threw themselves at my feet, I could only manage to step over them..politely of course.”

“lol”

Jumin frowned at this response, You usually were all for roasting the women that would do such a thing. After all, that was one of the many beautiful traits he loved about you. (everyone needs a roasting buddy don’t lie)

“MC, are you alright?”

No response. Jumin also acknowledged the fact that MC responds rather quickly..perhaps she was busy with work? Much to his disarray, he began fiddling with paperwork to pass the time. Yet his eyes always returned to the screen upon the phone.

That’s it. He’s absolutely worried. He had put you on speed dial, and when he heard that she answered the phone on the first ring a relieved sigh emitted from his lips.

“Love, are you alright?” Jumin questioned with concern etched upon his fine features.

“No,” MC sobbed. “I’m not.”

Before he could urge her to tell her, she had already taken the liberty of continuing.

“I have been trying so hard for the RFA but it’s just not fair. Like nothing that I do will ever amount to the work that Rika does! Of course I brush off what Yoosung says all the time, but it hurts. It especially hurts that today’s my birthday of all things, and I’ve been doing nothing but responding to emails. I feel like I’ve been forgotten by everyone, especially you.”

Tears pricked his eyes as he listened to how his beloved felt, and before he could part his lips to speak he realized he may break out into sobs with her. She had accomplished a lot, taking on everyone’s burden but her very own. Nobody was really there for him, and he had let her down.

Jumin glanced at the clock upon the wall, it was the afternoon. He still had time to gather all the supplies and people necessary. He was determined to prove his worth.

“Love, listen to me. I need you to meet me tonight upon the roof of my penthouse.”

“Jumin,I-”

Before MC could protest, he intervened. “I am going to make this the best night of your life.”

He spoke with fervor, determination. MC’s eyes had widened as her lips had parted. A faint blush formed upon her cheeks as she stayed silent upon the phone. The redness under her eyes were evident to her pouring her heart out.

“Do you trust me?” Jumin questioned.

MC slowly exhaled, closing her eyes as she envisioned herself standing in front of him. Inhaling the rich cologne of his suit, and the sharp scent of his tuxedo.

“Okay.” Mc carefully spoke, “I’ll be there tonight. I promise.”

Jumin hung up, excused himself from work that very evening as he made important phone calls. He indescribably threatened anyone that didn’t comply with his requests. He was determined to make this a night you couldn’t forget.

The evening came around, and Jumin stood in front of you with an endearing smile. “I’m glad you decided to trust me. I’ve something to bestow upon you.” He carefully wrapped a blindfold around your eyes,

“Jumin?” You ask, holding out your hand as he carefully took it to entangle his fingers through yours.

“You can trust me.”

Jumin led you up a flight of stairs, making sure you were beside him. When he stopped at the door, he removed the blindfold and opened the door.

“SURPRISE!” The RFA Members cheered while Seven was using the party popper. Debris of colored flakes flowered the ground, but quickly blew away due to the rather careless wind that brushed by.

Regardless, you had a wonderful time. The cake was indeed your favorite, (That much he remembers.) And tears of joy filled your eyes as a happy laugh emitted from your lips. Before Jumin had said anything, you instantly wrapped your arms around his neck.

“Thank you, I love it. I love you.” You pulled away, cupping his cheeks with a grin. Regardless, Jumin pressed his lips against yours and V, whom had fixed his eyesight: snapped a beautiful picture of you.

Sad to say, Jumin couldn’t snap a great picture of you blowing out the candles on your birthday cake: V had him covered. When the night had calmed down, and the maids had begun cleaning up what was left of the aftermath: Jumin sauntered towards you. Endearingly pulling you closer to his side with his hand rested comfortably at your waist.

Jumin kept his eyes on you for a while, admiring the way your smile complimented the stars that twinkled in your beautiful irises.

“I’m sorry, that I forgot.” Jumin spoke, “I hope that you are happy.”

He could have sworn he stopped breathing when you turned to face him looking like a dream come true.

“I’m more than happy, you did forget but you did everything in your power to make sure I didn’t feel like I had been forgotten..or even a waste of space to you. Thank you.”

Jumin’s eyes pricked with tears as he pulled you closer to his chest, while you both engulfed each other in an embrace. His head rested upon yours as he looked up at the stars.

“You know, MC. I’m the worst at photography.” He explained while he removed the phone from his pocket.

Upon seeing it, you couldn’t help but laugh. “Here, let’s take a picture. This time..you let me take it.” You playfully scolded him.

Standing close together, and you professionally holding the phone a good distance away from the both of you: you snapped a selfie that would forever be a night the two of you remember…in anneversaries to come.

×Yoosung

You two had recently started dating, while you were understanding of the grief that followed Rika: you both were positive enough to find similarities.

If you thought differently, he loved to question you. To try and understand you.

It always appeared on the surface that Yoosung had it easier than you did, caring about his grades but not doing anything: running away from the real world with the help of a console. You remembered you used to be the same way.

“You know, I tried asking Rika about the way she handles people and, I could try and help you if you like! I want to be helpful to you!”

“Yoosung, I’m not Rika.” You carefully pronounciated as you slammed the dish you were holding in your hands. The glass shattered in the sink, causing Yoosung to jump.

He had unconsciously said that, while his hands had been working their magic against whatever villain he was up against. Yoosung panicked, grounding his teeth as he rushed over to you.

“MC, I’m so so sorry!” He pleaded with tears in his eyes, but you were pissed.

“I AM NOT RIKA.” You bellowed from the top of your lungs, causing Yoosung to step back. “Every single time we talk, it’s always about Rika. It’s always about how great she was, how she was this magnificent shadow that I’ll never be able to catch up to!”

“MC, that’s not true!” Yoosung argued as he extended a hand towards you, which you eagerly slapped away.

“RIKA IS DEAD! You’re giving up your future, your life, your time to a memory! Every day, I see you waste your life away. When you talk to me, it’s like you don’t see me! You just see what you want to see!” You pleaded towards him,

“Yoosung, I love you, but there’s only so much that I can take.” Tears pricked your eyes as he watched your shoulders shake from the pain that you’ve endured for so long.

He tenderly grabbed your wrist and set you upon the toilet, where his hands began to remove the shards of glass that were in your finger.

Hissing, you grounded your teeth. Yoosung looked up at you, “I’m sorry, I’ll try to do better.” Yoosung murmured as he focused on you.

When the silence was thought to be a punishment, he broke it with a “I know.”

Yoosung looked into your eyes, as an overwhelming maturity overtook him that made you take your breath away.

“Rika is..more than a memory, MC. She was family, I was her only family. You..you do remind me of her. And you’re right, I do only see what I want to see. I forget that, you’ve only a week to plan a party.”

You opened your mouth to speak, but he intercepted your thoughts.

“I know. I’ve not been the best, I’ve never had anyone. I’ve never really thought about your pain..I can only imagine what you’re going through. But, please don’t give up on me. I’ll try and be better for you, for the both of us. It’s just that, you’re so strong, MC. To carry on all this burden, and..i thought you were fine.’”

Your shoulders shook, as you clamped your hand over your mouth. Tears pricked your eyes as you slowly shook your head, “But I’m not.” You strained the words while you looked down at the ground in shame. “I’m not at all.”

The whispers broke his heart as he had removed the pieces of glass from within your skin, treating it with specific care as he bandaged it.

“MC.” Yoosung cooed as he cupped your face with his hands.

“You are absolutely magic. Nobody could do what you’ve been doing. I’ve underestimated and assumed who you are, because I was too blind to see. But, I love you. I’m so sorry for hurting you. If you stay with me, I’ll make certain you won’t forget it.”

A beam of light filtered through the window, and you saw something in Yoosung’s eyes you hadn’t seen before. Behind the alluring violet eyes, you saw the foretelling of a man beginning to grow. A man who keeps their word.

“Do you promise?” You hinted, a soft smile wavering through your lips.

“I promise.” He returned your smile as you held up your pinky finger.

As childish as it was, this was a pact between you two. He entangled his pinke with yours before you pressed your lips to his.

It was a long journey the two of you had decided to travel on, but within this: you found a soulmate willing to grow alongside you.

I called it, I freaking cried because of the Hobbit movie.

(Since last time I babbled over GotG I spammed a lot of people, let me just sum it up this time and put it under a read more)

“Battle of the Five Armies” was absolutely brilliant and I enjoyed almost every second of it – which is saying something, since I normally cannot sit still for two and a half hour without doing at least tree things simultaneously.

First of all – a big shout-out to the actors. Every last one of them did an amazing job, be it their expressions, little quirks of body language they showed throughout the movie, voice acting or all of it together. Those guys absolutely lived their roles, and I couldn’t have imagined it any better than what they did.

Then the scenery. Good lord, the scenery. Be it the burning city in the beginning, the illuminated Erebor, the darkness of Gol Dulgur, the Shire in the end… It was breathtaking more than once, and I was this close to taking pictures of it or something. (Which shows how enraptured I was because that’s exceptionally silly, even for me.)

And the soundtrack. There was some soundtrack I recognized from LotR, like the Shire theme, and teared up over because it felt a bit like coming home, and then there was the soundtrack belonging to the Hobbit series that made me want to shout “Du Bekar!” alongside the dwarves. “The Sons of Durin”, the one that plays when Thorin joins the fight, is absolutely amazing.

As for the plot – it’s been a while since I watched the other two movies or read the book. (Then again, I guess I can ignore the book, since I firmly believe that book and movies have to be regarded separately from each other.) I feel like the three movies should be watched shortly after each other, since they tell one big story, and it felt a bit strange watching the last one so long after the others.

But all in all, I loved the plot, thin as it may have been (again, I think that’s because the movie are so tightly linked together, this one was all about the battles and the “back again”). It was a battle through and through – the battle between the humans and Smaug, the battle between the Elves, Dwarves and Humans, and the battle between light and dark. The dwarves. I love Thorin’s company, adored them since the first movie, and watching them breaking apart and despairing and finding back together was painful and beautiful to watch.

The way Balin shook and almost cried while he saw the sickness take hold of Thorin. Bofur letting Bilbo go in the middle of the night because Bilbo is his friend, and he half-hoped Bilbo would leave before the battle because he didn’t want to lose him. When he gave the Mithril shirt away to his friend.

But most time, he even sounded like Smaug (the voice of Smaug being heard when Thorin talked was on point). The viewer can watch the gradual fall of the proud King who seems to be less than he ever was, and it’s heartbreaking to watch.

His death was even more painful to watch than Fili’s and Kili’s and that’s saying something. The only comfort I had that he died knowing that Bilbo had forgiven him and was still his friend. He had righted what he had done wrong, he could die without regrets.

Bilbo. Bilbo’s role in this is bigger as he probably realizes, and yet he isn’t directly included in the fight, which is perfect. Bilbo Baggins is no fighter, no warrior. He is the voice of reason in that bunch of hard-headed and prideful dwarves, and especially a counterpoint to Thorin – who, despite being a good diplomat and leader when the situation calls for it, can also be blinded by pride.
