So our apartment complex doesn't clean our building in any way. Stairs, landings, windows. They pretty much landscape and that's it.

We've lived here a little over a year and seem to be the only people who give a single fuck. I've been stepping over leaves from last fall, qtips, bloody tissues, receipts, cobwebs, dead bugs and so much dirt on these stairs it's quite disgusting.

We had a person move out very angerly recently, like throwing things on the sidewalk from several stories up and hurling heavy objects down flights of stairs, so the stairs got splintered.

That was my last straw. It was gonna take me hours to clean this but ffs I'm not looking at this shit for one more day.

My bf helped me and it took us an hour to just sweep the walls, hallways, landings and stairs. We filled a large black garbage bag and half a kitchen bag. I'm going to take the rest of the week to slowly wipe down banisters and more cobwebs.

We pay high rent, like we tell people and they are shocked. It's not living in a big city forced to live in a shoebox, but it's more than my last mortgage for a 1/5 the space. My point is this place should be cleaning regularly. And the people who live here should not leave their fucking garbage on the stairs and maybe, just maybe, see a huge pile of leaves by their door that could swallow an average beagle and uh, pick it up?

I told my bf that it would make us feel better coming home to a clean apartment complex. He had to run an errand afterwards and he admitted that he didn't really believe me but then came home and said it was noticably cleaner and it actually did make him happy.

I did this for myself, to stop getting angry everytime i passed those fucking qtips. But with all this shit going on in the world I think it's just a good idea to look out for one another more, even if it's not appreciated. We can't be the only people here who care about cleanliness, we might just be the only people who don't have "that's someone else's job" hardwired into them.

HI ELLIE!!! Omg, I just started reading IHM. I was originally going to hold off until it was done (or mostly done), because I'm a serial monogamist when it comes to a series (RIGHT NOW I AM LOYAL TO KICKOFF lol), but I ended up reading IHM anyways for some reason. I LOVE IT SOOOO MUCH. I know that we're only two chapters in, but I always love and adore how much thought goes into your characters and writing. I found myself giggling the whole way through lul. One thing I noticed after chapter 2 is as much as Gojo annoys reader, he's also strangely attentive to her needs and is a complete foil to Choso. I'm sure this was supposed to be obvious, but I thought it was very sweet how he called her beautiful in the dress (the same dress that Choso didn't acknowledge her in) and how the ring he picked for her was similar to one that she had saved in her wedding mood board. I'm pretty sure it's not exactly intentional on Gojo's part (or maybe it is?? hehe), but I thought it was an interesting detail. Also, I know this is within spoiler territory, so don't feel obligated to answer this, but how angsty will it get between reader and Gojo's relationship? :,) I know that they're both still healing from personal trauma from their past relationships, so will that come into play as they develop feelings for each other? It seems that Gojo is hesitant to talk about his divorce, so would that be a factor or an obstacle that will hinder him from getting too close to reader? Can't wait for future chapters!!! <3 Thank you for spoiling us *__*

yesss i think there will be quite a bit of angst between the too, mostly surrounding their ex lovers, and just in general their pasts. i kinda wanted it where reader has lived in town her whole life (childhood home) whereas gojo mysteriously moved in next door less than a year ago, so they both don’t know much about each other despite being next door neighbors. but honestly i think a lot of the angst actually comes from secondary plotlines that end up bringing reader n gojo together!! but there will still be angst between them for suuuure 😭😔 yes gojo is very hesitant to speak up ab his divorce, sorry i simply cannot write gojo without avoidant personality bc i feel like he bottles up a lot in the show too so it just felt fitting 💀😞 but for reader too, i think she kinda…doesnt care to learn much about him as of right now bc she finds him annoying lol, and then later on when she has feelings i think it’ll be too painful for her to learn ab certain things too…so yes definitely i can see how they both would avoid their feelings and instead do the thing most adults do and joke about their feelings to lighten tension or completely avoid them all together 😃😃 (or do i just need therapy loool)

happy ummm 8th month on t? (9th if i were actually on t continuously but i ran out for a month that one time) i used to do monthly t updates on tiktok but i dont rlly feel like doing that rn so i'll yap about it here (its actually wild how little stuff i have about my transition on my tumblr generally speaking? as if this isnt the website that transed my gender in the first place)

it really is hard to notice such gradual changes from month to month, especially if its just me lookin at myself, compared to seeing a doctor in person which, i am getting rx'd T thru telehealth currently as my nearest planned parenthood or even a neighboring one does not actually do gender affirming care which is. insane and whack. esp when i do live in a pretty populated county maybe second or third to nyc and albany area. and i have to call in to a pp THREE HOURS BY TRANSIT from me. but like, its been working for now ok!

mentally and emotionally ive been very up and down overall but i think thats largely due to my medication changes rather than hormones. ALTHOUGH. when i ran out for a month in november and my period came back... dude it was so horrible like genuinely the worst period of my life. its one of those things where i didnt realize just how dysphoric something could make me feel until i had a taste of being able to alleviate said dysphoria. so mentally speaking testosterone is probably pulling the mental train even more than the wellbutrin lol. and im trying not to account too much for circumstance/environment cuz like OBVIOUSLY if things were going smoothly for me there a lot of my emotional issues would be at least somewhat relieved, but im working with what i got.

physically, since starting t in july i have lost weight. at first i was very scared it was my medication, and i think a part of it was at least a little, like two of my meds can cause some weight loss, but i am no longer losing weight in a concerning way but just yknow the regular amount of daily fluctuation. so i do think a lot of my weight loss was due to hormones just shifting around my fat and all that, or something idk lol. everyones so diff with hormones, i know some trans guys gain weight on t and not necessarily from muscle training, i know girls on e who have lost weight without any changes to diet or exercise, it really depends so as always, this is just my experience etc etc

i do have more facial hair but its still quite patchy, i think i might start filling in my stache tho. with my shitty goatee, its not my fav so i shave it off when im not just sitting inside all day, but also idk it makes my chin feel less. round. or smth. i do always think of my one friend telling me ill look like the lead singer of a nü metal band and honestly maybe i should start giving that energy more anyway! embrace goatee lifestyle!

oh yeah my voice dropped in like the first two months and has gotten deeper since, and on timtom i talked a lot about wanting to maintain the vocal range i had pre-t? i dont think thats fully possible like i think the highest notes i used to reach are just inaccessible to me, but i think if i did some like vocal singing warmups i can get back up to reach those higher notes. in retrospect the way ive sung my whole life has actually prob been destructive on my voice, partly from lack of proper training and partly intentionally trying to sound deeper and more gravelly, but now that i can access deeper sounds more naturally i really do wanna work on singing in a better way where i can reach some of those notes.

overall yea im liking whats happening so far, i do wish it was happening faster but i understand that some people dont get the progress ive gotten for like, YEARS, and new progressions will be happening to me for years after today. if you think about "real" puberty, it is a gradual shift its not like you suddenly grow a chest as soon as you Bleed or whatever its different for literally every person and since im the only one in my family that i know of who has done this, im kind of a guinea pig. but like im okay with that! anyway yeah really recommrnd testosterone if u want it i like it :)

The way I’m thinking of is more like.. some of the characters suddenly appear in the reader’s house world. Like they broke out of the game

Temporarily, ofc. At least initially

Since, while they’re in the reader’s world, that character(s) presence seems to disappear in the reader’s game.

Just— the reader vibing, watching some anime or smth, then Thoma just walks out of the closet confused as hell

“Hello there!” “WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY HOUSE??”

Both parties confused as hell

Are they dreaming? Are they dead? What?? How??

Since this is SAGAU the character(s) that show up prob think they’re dead. Since they’re meeting their creator/overseer/the player and that shouldn’t be possible—

But… Funny slice of life opportunities? Where the reader has to house whatever character shows up until they leave

If the reader does want to help them figure out a way back or not…can vary

And the point in time the characters show up could vary as well!

Like, you can meet a Post-Sumeru Scara, Raiden Shogun before the Inazuma Quest, Signora before she goes all Crimson Witch, etc! At all can vary!

That also means the interactions can differ. Awkward, funny, angst, crack-fic-esque, angst, angst/comfort, you get the idea.

The amount of time a character is in the Reader’s world can also be insanely different. You’ve got Thoma there for less than a day, and then Razor’s there for a whole week. It’s wild

Not to mention if there’s more than one character that showed up—oh boy, that’s gonna be hectic to manage.

When the character(s) return home, it can be weird for the reader

But it’s probably weirder for the Reader if a character keeps coming back with all the memories of what happened before

So it’s not a dream or hallucination. Lovely.

If the Reader gets Isekai’d into Teyvat, they would get a very big welcome party. And a lot of people who would be willing to show them around, as you did help them while they were in your world.

But if the Genshin Cast get’s isekai’d into the Reader’s World?

Oh boy..

They’d have to teach everyone about the world.

Some of them have to work, because you can’t support such a large group without help.

Also have to explain to the cast just how popular Genshin Impact is, so they’re going to be seen as cosplayers if they don’t change up their identities and looks.

Ofc the cast has been aware they’ve been in a game, but this is…a lot to take him

And probably a big ego boost for some of the characters, since people seem to love them so much.

The cast have to realize that, divine or not, they’re all now on an even paying field.

Not to mention they can’t use their visions openly, lest more suspicions are made by the Reader’s Neighbors

Tbh, the entire cast could do a ‘group Cosplay’ channel where they’re all ‘cosplaying’ Genshin Character’s to do vlogs and possibly make some cast.

And use of their visions can be passed off as video effects

If they do that, the cast would probably be very popular in the Genshin community for being the Cosplay Icons.

Bonus points if you also have to explain the fandom shenanigans

“What’s a Scaranation? What the fuck?”

“Is there..a reason? Why all of the anemo boys care being called an idol group..?”

“[Reader], what is a ‘simp?�� And why are there so many of them?”

Extra bonus points if whenever a new character enters the Genshin story they show up at the Reader’s house as well.

Oh! Or a Twisted Wonderland Crossover type beat! People that the Reader knows, who many assume are also from their world, started appearing and now Night Raven College needs a new dorm to house all of them.

For these crossovers, imagine if the worlds were actually merging. Or well— mixing in some ways

People are getting visions, slimes are causing havoc, teleport waypoints are appearing along with the statues of the seven

And the only way to revert it would be to send the Genshin Cast back.

How would they react? Would there be a permanent gateway established, or would it be a one way thing? Would the Reader choose to stay in Teyvat with them?

Oh but someone would totally say “Hell no” and start trying to prevent any progress of sending them back.

who do you think would prefer an s/o who’s charming, more of a people person, using their words to get what they want vs an s/o who’s more quiet, strategic, and plans and schemes to get what they want? is it a case of opposites attract, or would they want someone to compliment them? 👀

okay so i think this depends on the s/o’s morals! like you can be scheming to help others instead of hurting them. so let’s go with that bc i dont wanna brainstorm a low ethics/morality s/o (this makes me think of 7KPP, a fantastic visual novel that’s the only decent Court Drama Simulator vn i’ve come across). Also there’s a loooot of characters so imma just list the ones I have Strong Thoughts on and sort them by region oh lord what have you done my dork is showing

Northbois

So while I feel like Robb and Ned would prefer a more outgoing and charming sort of person ... I really can’t help but ship them with someone whose more cunning and can actually play the game of thrones. Like lord someone help these Starks because their intrigue score is 0 and they need someone protecting them from Tywin, Roose and Walder LOL. I can really see both father and son thinking their s/o is this sweet thing and not having a clue of how much scheming they’re actually doing to protect Winterfell... Ned would probs catch on after a while but Robb would just be blinded by love and devotion haha. 

Sansa would probs want the first ideally, but as she gets older she’d greatly appreciate someone who has that sort of cunning and uses it for good purposes. Also she’d like a calm and steady personality to rely on.

Jory is a straight up honest guy to a fault, kinda like Ned, so he’d also prefer the first type of person and appreciate them more.

OKAY SO you’d think Roose would go for the second type but HEAR ME OUT. I think he’d go for both equally, or a mix of the two. Listen. I have a strong HC that he would be very attracted to someone who is his opposite in many ways - outgoing, charming, sweet and kind. If that person also happens to be cunning as hell and willing to manipulate anyone - even him - to protect what’s their’s, oof. He’s gone. I think he’d really get off on the idea of having an s/o who everyone is shocked he’s involved with bc “omg they’re sooo nice” and only he really knows their “other side”, so to speak. Realtalk I don’t think he’d go for someone just as morally awful as him bc he’d see them more as a threat than a potential partner.

Ramsay is a little shit that would also be attracted to the first kind of person but honestly needs the second type to keep his ass in line. That’s the sort of person who would figure him out and manipulate him accordingly so he isn’t skinning the goddamn neighbors. Also he wouldn’t give a damn about their morals so go off i guess just dont start any revolts in the north

VERY Northbois

Jon really doesn’t care for schemes, even if he acknowledges they’re useful, and he’d be attracted to someone who knows just what to say and is charismatic bc lord knows he’s struggled w that for a bit.  Benjen really loves outgoing, charming and talkative peeps esp when they wiggle their way out of stuff or convince the upper command of the Watch to consider a different plan. He’ll be soooo attracted to that. Edd is kinda meh on both I’d feel? Like he’d prefer a quieter person but not a scheming sort, that’s too troublesome to deal with. I think he could come around to the first one eventually.

Mance super respects the second type, he finds it very attractive actually, especially when they start manipulating him into something and he catches them. Tormund is a dork and prefers outgoing people, totally doesn’t notice when he’s being taken in lol. He rlly hates the second sort of person, sees them as snakes.

Southbois

Edmure would absolutely be drawn to a gregarious and outgoing person! And if they can talk their way into or out of things thank god bc fishboy has a habit of putting his foot in his mouth. I really don’t think it’d work out with a schemer person bc of that Tully honor, and unlike Ned or Robb, Edmure would start to catch on (I don’t buy into the show characterization of Edmure like frack that he’s not an idiot). Brynden has a lot of experience and has seen a lot of BS, so he’d understand the risks and sacrifices his s/o would be making when they’re playing the game, and he’d really wish they wouldn’t!! Like yeah it’s to protect their family and friends but he wishes they didn’t have to do that. He wants to protect them on his own.

Brienne REALLY prefers someone whose honest and can talk their way in and out of things!! Like the Starks she’s very honorable and has no patience for lies and manipulating even if it’s for something good. It’d take a lot for her to trust and be attracted to that kind of person, they’d have to like... be very honest with her about what their plans are and why they’re doing them. 

Kingslanding bois

oh lord Stannis okay so INITIALLY he’d be put off by both personalities for diff reasons - outgoing because socializing and diplomacy is something he just sucks at and the second one because holy hell he hates dishonesty and scheming. Now, he can admire a strategic and collected mind, but as soon as dishonorable plots roll in he starts side-eyeing. I think it would take some time for that latter personality to gain his trust, and if this is like... his wife we’re talking about, she’d probs have to scheme behind his back, even if it’s for his own sake. For an outgoing person, he could eventually befriend or fall for them once some common ground is found. He wouldn’t be able to admit how much he admires their people skills haha.

Davos understands that sometimes manipulating and scheming is needed and can be used for good, but personally he prefers a more diplomatic, out in the open approach. So the first type is def his kinda person. He could still befriend the second type as long as they’re not assholes, though.

Tywin would honestly work with both sides of the spectrum and in between, but ultimately, you’d have to understand who you’re dealing with. There’s no honor or high ground being involved with Tywin Lannister, and the s/o should expect to get dragged into his schemes, esp when he trusts them ... and that’s no easy feat. Ultimately it’s less of how you get what you want and more of ... what are you willing to do to get it. Pesky morals and all that.

Tyrion has had enough of his dad’s bullshit that he’d only be romantically involved with the first type, someone who uses sass and flattery like he does. He can still respect and befriend a more cunning person, though. Jaime also prefers the first type, he thinks it’s just because “oh I like outgoing and forward people” and not...”i’ve spent years dealing with lies and schemes from father and cersei”, yanno that old chestnut. Bronn definitely prefers gregarious and cheeky peeps, schemes go over his head and bore him.

Sandor dislikes both sorts of personalities for different reasons ... He’s offput by someone who would be very talkative and outgoing with him (like why are they talking to him wtf), and he also hates scheming and lying and all that, he’s seen too much of it. The first type has a better chance of befriending and getting close to him, the second not so much. 

Petyr very much respects and admires both but like ... you know he’d prefer someone that he thinks he can outwit and manipulate, so probably more of the first type of personality because they seem less cunning and more of “just” a people person. Given his obsessive/yandere tendencies he probably wouldn’t notice he was being taken in by someone friendly and kind. 

like okay weird thing to think about but just consider this... I really wonder what it’d be like if Robert had an s/o like the first one you mentioned. Not Cersei, certainly not his beloved Lyanna - a third party, a gracious and likeable queen that kinda makes up for his faults and she’s TRYING hard as hell. like idk if they’d ever fall in love but like idk i feel like his depression would be slightly lessened to have a partner that’s very beloved and tries to help him and put him in a good light in his subject’s minds. Am I making sense? She’s not perfect but she wants what’s best for the realm and if she’s gotta do it herself she will. IDK sorry this is a tangent, i think about major change AUs and their political consequences a lot

Heckin south n east bois

Margaery is a Big Gay and you can’t fight me on this, you will lose. She’s super attracted to the first kind of gal bc that’s def how she is herself! So she’d love to play those little word games with them. The second personality type she’d just write off as “eh quiet person” but once she got closer and began to realize their cunning and wittiness she’d def take an interest, esp if she found out about some good things they did. Then it’d be a classic “outgoing babe dating more reserved babe” and yall both would be VERY well-known in court. absolute power couple

Oberyn likes both equally! Especially if your motives are to help others and/or save your friends and family. He loves that kinda loyalty and he really admires someone who has a way with words and schemes in equal measure. Hell he does both himself. He might lean more toward an outgoing person just because that’s how he is too.

idk where to put Beric but he rlly likes the first kind of people!! He’d probs ask you to get supplies or money on the Brotherhood’s behalf, and he actually kinda likes it when he finds himself doing something you wanted cause you asked so nicely or talked him into it ..... Thoros calls him a simp and it’s true ok don’t bully he can’t help it

& lastly Essosssss

So, I think Daenerys would be a lot more drawn to the second kinda person. First of all: Very mysterious, ooh. Secondly, she’d appreciate a cool head that will tell her the truth and is willing to do more unsavory things bc they believe in her so much. Obvs she would need someone with unquestionable loyalty, and once she tests and is reassured of that loyalty, then she could start some kinda romance. She’s def attracted to someone who can get shit done that way.

Jorah is a big opposite in that he’s kinda had to do that unsavory stuff himself and is still ashamed by it, and generally doesn’t trust people like Littlefinger and Varys and Illyrio, etc so he’d prefer someone who is just genuine and talks their way out of things. Also yall know him he can’t resist once he starts liking someone like cmon

Grey Worm is absolutely in the first camp too but for diff reasons! Scheming and all that shit just makes him nervous and he distrusts it, even if it’s for Daenerys’ sake. He just wouldn’t associate with the person ... Someone more outgoing would definitely fluster him more but at least he could feel like he could trust them. Missandei can go either way - she knows the power in both diplomacy and manipulation, and would likely admire and be pulled to someone who uses both to help people.

I keep pinballing between monster Gordon designs in my head, and the most common contenders have been and owlbeast form like from The Owl House (bc him fluffy), that one humanoid design where his hair is super long and floaty and full of eyes, or a spiky dragon with near geometric scale spikes (bc the irony that his monster form is all sharp and pointy but his human form and personality are so soft and cuddly)

Bubby is usually the fire type of the group, so i always imagine monster Gordon with magma or plasma? Plasma maybe better, fits a celestial theme.

ooooh, that’s neat! i like the idea of monster gordon with plasma and lightning powers might have to incorporate that with the one i’m picturing. imagine electricity arching between his mane tendrils and whiskers and stuff, which signifies that something is about to get plasma breath’d also OOPS THIS PROMPTED ME TO SHARE A LOT OF THOUGHTS SO THIS GOT LONG, putting the rest under a read more ha ha

another thing about the monster gordon au i’ve been thinking about is that he’s not a straight-up cosmic entity like i picture benrey being, but more of just an alien from another dimension, like the critters from xen (he’s not from xen, though. whole ‘nother place entirely!) in this au, i still have gordon and benrey having known eachother as children, only this time gordon was the lil monster kid living in the woods, of course. and also, kid benrey actually saw his monster friend get carted off by black mesa! he saw the company’s logo on a vehicle or equipment or something, and never forgot it. benrey and his folks move to new mexico when he’s like, 13, and ends up befriending their new neighbor- a twenty-something guy named tommy. eventually, benrey learns that tommy’s working for this lab called black mesa, and when he sees the place’s logo he’s just !!!!!! and immediately decides he needs to try and get in that place. he doesn’t know shit or fuck about science, so trying to get a scientist job there is out. but maybe they’re hiring for like, a janitorial or security position? he’s pretty fit, and knows how to mop a floor and shoot a gun. so he goes for that. gordon still completely forgets his human childhood friend, though, awww. though that might be partially blamed on some of the experiments conducted on him. speaking of his time as a research specimen, he actually had it a tiny bit better than benrey did. didn’t take until he was in his teens before a much more caring scientist showed up to make sure he had good mental, emotional, and physical enrichment. and instead of that scientist being tommy, like for benrey... for gordon, it’s coomer. dad coomer momence :) they find gordon much more willing to cooperate after he imprints on coomer, too. and also take note of how active his curiosity is, with the alien asking so many questions and looking for so many answers for about how things work, especially when he hits his teens. somewhere along the line, some ‘mesa higher ups decide to let this xenoguy indulge his apparently scientific mind, and give him a job (he’s still required to check in for tests on himself, and not allowed to leave the facility, though). even tho he’s not an eldritch horror, he’s still got shape-shifting powers, and takes on a human form, both because all the spaces he’d work in were made with humans in mind, and to reduce the number of weird looks from literally everyone outside of sector E. and because he looked human, benrey didn’t recognize gordon at all, but also couldn’t shake this weird vibe he was getting from him. vibe increases after he sees this guy heading to do a dangerous test without one of the fancy hazard suits (being near-indestructable, he doesn’t need one). just before they get to where the test chamber is, and benrey asks him again why he doesn’t have a HEV suit if he’s really supposed to be here, gordon yells “BECAUSE I’M NOT FUCKING HUMAN, OKAY?? Now will you PLEASE let me go do my fucking job, I’m running so god damn late, christ...” the “not human” part is emphasized by gordon briefly showing a glimpse of his true form. which benrey instantly recognizes. ...aaaand then feels bad about the “i need to make sure you’re nice or not, everybody here’s afraid of you” thing. in this case, some of the other employees in sector C were afraid of gordon, as they knew what he was. benrey was a new hire and didn’t (obviously) and didn’t get why some of the scientists and guards were acting nervous around this seemingly friendly (if short-tempered) guy. but now he does. as well as why gordon looked a little self-conscious about it when benrey brought it up. whoops. even though monster!gordon doesn’t wear a HEV suit, he still has trackers that the military use to hunt the science team down. the trackers are just, y’know, in him. and unfortunately, nobody on the team knows exactly where they were stuck in him, and he doesn’t wanna just go clawing himself open everywhere to find the damn things. so the betrayal still happens, though benrey is def not feeling it as much, cause like, he JUST found his old alien friend and was gonna bust him out!! which obviously he can’t do if the fuckin’ military gets a hold of him. but then, he also can’t bust gordon out if he himself gets killed by the military... so turning gordon in is the lesser of two evils. turn him in now, and then try to free him again later. that’s the plan. of course, the bootboys ambushing gordon aren’t at all prepared. they weren’t properly informed on everything about gordon, and for about this whole time, gordon’s been taking on a human form. said form being considerably smaller than his true one. gordon does not black out and get tossed in (the wrong part of) a trash compactor. he does still get pissed at bubby and benrey, though. but this time, he forgives benrey first, as the guy gets way, WAY more emotional over this all than gordon’s ever seen from him. showing off a ton of genuine guilt and regret over it, and also explains why he did it right away (even tho gordon’s still convinced he and benrey never met until the test). bubby mostly just seems scared shitless, oops. but gordo does forgive him before it’s all said and done. they still run into coomer clones and less-than-stable bubby prototypes (which are now just clones as well because reasons). bubby’s not a genetically engineered perfect organism, but a regular/realistic ‘test-tube baby.’ he’s still got a bionic heart, though. coomer’s still a cyborg, too, but not really a super-powered one. his robotic limbs are just advanced in that they’re as dexterous as his old natural limbs, and have artificial touch receptors. they’re also made out of materials that are sturdy as all fuck. they’re just a couple of dudes, as far as physical abilities go. their clones, however? still very fucked up. possibly a little bit more fucked up. this au is also another “not a game” one, and there’s a different reason for why coomer’s clones seem to have a weird connection with gordon/gordon’s brain. bubby’s do, too. those clones aren’t just clones, but also results of genetic splicing experiments. i’ll let you guess where the other non-coomer/bubby genes that were spliced in came from. go on. guess. i haven’t thought about what happens when they get to xen too much. probably just that they fight the nihilanth, since i headcanon that it was indeed still the cause of the xen portals, but benrey ate it to steal its sick boss arena. gordon however wouldn’t do that, as he doesn’t get pissed at any of the team to, y’know, wanna go final boss on them. still gotta be the big hero man (even when he’s not technically a ‘man’). after they get back from xen, tommy prob manages to convince his dad to convince his employers to NOT lock gordon up in a lab again, as it would both mean a lot to his best friend benrey (who is like a little brother to him), and because he’s become fast friends with gordon himself and thus cares about him. i’m also trying to decide if i still want mr. coolatta to be an eldritch being or make him human, too. kinda leaning towards letting him stay non-human, though this time tommy doesn’t have any of the ‘buffs’ i say his adoptive dad gives him in my other not-a-game aus. aaaand that’s all the thoughts i’ve had on this thus far!

     ( anya chalotra, cisfemale, bisexual, she/her ) rome welcomes NETHYRAELYSS ‘NETHYRA ENDSETTER’, an ORIGINAL DRAGON. they are 25/5,000+ years old and have been in the city for 4 MONTHS. they are known to be PROTECTIVE + ABRASIVE, which makes sense because they’re CONFLICTED about the marriages. i heard they’re betrothed to AMY ADAMS, GUGU MBATHA-RAW, RACHEL MCADAMS, ANY 35+ FEM FC - a HUMAN.

in a land of dragons.

nethyraelyss and her several siblings were ‘born’ the day the earth experienced a huge tremor and its crust cracked open, exposing a number of eggs all a various shade of hue.

nethyra and her twin brother’s egg was a warped color, half black and purple and half ( color tbd by mun ).

the eggs’ colors matched the scales of its dragon/s. for nethyraelyss, she was a impossibly midnight hue, with purple managing to peek through in certain lighting. because of such, she was deemed ‘the midnight dragon’ out of her ‘siblings.’ 

nethyra and her twin were ever close as they grew up. in fact, the clan believed in loyalty to one another first, anything else second. the twins got up to their mischief as all dragons would, creating havoc, humoring human lives, having their fun. 

but dragons were supposed to age out of this wild youth. nethyra’s brother did. however, she did not. nethyra became known for her reckless ways and her selfish pursuit of entertainment. it wasn’t that she sought to hurt her kind, but she felt like something was always missing in her life. boredom crept in and made her starve for all else. 

eventually, realizing she was a risk to them all, nethyra’s twin and her siblings betrayed her. it was around the very late middle ages when this happened. when dragons were told in every tale. they enlisted the help of a witch and pushed nethyra into a deep slumber like death, far beneath the earth’s crust. 

when she awoke again, it was 8 years ago, in the midst of war. her brother had finally freed her from her hibernation, in hopes she’d ‘come to her senses’ and help him and the dying members of their family. and while she did help in some ways, it was more or less because her wrath saw no end to its claim. 

tw death. nethyra burned battles to the ground in her anger and pain. but even she couldn’t stop the death of her original siblings, watching as they fell one by one. and despite their betrayal, she fell into anguish because of it. especially when she watched her twin brother seemingly die on the battlefield. 

she flew away from the scene, fighting throughout the world in her misery and her anger. she became known as the ‘nethyra endsetter’ for her ability to cause panic on any side of the war, due to the fact that she didn’t play favorites when she destroyed. 

which is why she got injured about a year ago. nethyra almost met her own fate but was thankfully taken in by a young ( ish ) werewolf. said werewolf dragged her to the pack and helped her recover from her wounds. it was only then that nethyra realized whose pack it was. an original werewolf’s. namely, the one with the fabled human lover. 

nethyra thought him and his pack foolish for trying to create peace and saving all lives, regardless species. but over time, the dragon watched as the pack’s deeds were done, and how the werewolf’s human lover fought beside him in an act of love despite the backdrop of hate. and it very slowly changed her view of the world and her hand in its affairs, not that she would admit it so openly. when the original werewolf planned on making the sanctuary in rome, nethyra followed - for better or worse - as a faithful friend of his. despite being conflicted about marrying an enemy, or officially ‘settling down.’

the light of the horizon.

nethyra was a brat that never grew up, until she had no one else left to take care of her mess. when her siblings died, so too did most of her selfish ways and her ‘thirst for fun,’ which is how the original werewolf and his pack managed to convince her to start looking for a deeper connection to this world than simply creating chaos. 

she’s sharp-witted, sarcastic, teasing, venomous. she can be your friend one minute, and knock you down a size or two the next. she’s also very guarded because of her family’s betrayal and because of the trauma she faced on the battlefield after barely waking. regardless of her ways, nethyra deeply loved her family and genuinely cares about her people. so to see them fall was a sight that brought her melancholy and guilt. 

even in their ‘human skin,’ dragons can manipulate fire. nethyra is known for hers, particularly because of her chaotic soul and rage. 

in her dragon form, nethyraelyss is a giant amongst dragons. so too is her twin brother. original dragons are the size of mountains. paired with their strength, their power, and their near invincibility, the sight of one on your enemy’s side would make anyone fearful.

nethyra just actually wants love and acceptance and family and she’ll never fucking say that but rip she does.

You Make It Easy - Billy Hargrove // p.1

Setting: December of 1984

➳ You struggle to not fall for the boy next door, but what you don’t know is that he already fell for you.

Whew this is my first imagine after a while, I really hope this doesn’t suck yikes!! I really fell completely in love with Billy this season so i’ll prob make hella fics about him oop- // also this will be like a mini series I guess, I’ve already written the second part so I’ll be posting it sometime tomorrow, the rest is still a work in progress. I don’t know how many chapters there will be in total **there may be some mistakes, i proof read this several times but i might’ve missed some things**

Warnings: cursing, some mentions violence and abuse, and it’s kinda sad 

Your dad parked the moving truck in front of a new house in Hawkins, Indiana. You step out of the car and sniffed the cold Indiana air, taking in the new surroundings. The neighborhood was nice and family oriented, there were a couple of kids playing tag and some were drawing on the sidewalks. Light snow fell from the sky making the surroundings feel peaceful and calm. You looked around trying to familiarize yourself with your new neighborhood when a guy with curly dirty blond hair caught your eye. He was sitting on the porch steps of his own home which was situated next to yours. He was wearing a jean jacket with blue jeans. Underneath the jacket was a plain white shirt and a plain gold chain adorned his neck. You stared at him as he took a puff out of his cigarette. He looked ethereal, the sunlight hit him so perfectly that he looked like he was glowing. You didn’t realize how hard you were staring until he turned to look at you, making you jump and immediately turn your attention to the boxes that were needed to be put inside.

You focused your attention to the boxes in the truck, trying hard to forget how embarrassed you were. You pulled out a box that belonged to your new room, you slightly struggled at how heavy it was. 

“Need help with that?” An unfamiliar voice spoke behind you. Who the hell?

You turned around and saw him, the same guy you were just staring at. Your hands trembled and your arms began to give in and drop the box you are holding, but thankfully he was there to catch it. You could feel your cheeks burning up in embarrassment, but he didn’t comment on it.

“Um… I.. I got it… th-thanks.” You stuttered out a reply as you tried to take back the box. 

He laughed at your attempt at getting back the box and spoke, “Bullshit, you clearly almost dropped it. C’mon let me help you.”

“I don’t want to bother you, s-seriously. It’s… um… fine.” 

He shook his head no and started to head towards your front door with the box, “Where does this go to?” He asked, stopping at the entrance of your house. 

“Oh, how nice! You’ve already made a friend, Y/N! I knew you’d settle right in.” Your mom smiled at you while stepping out of the truck. “Mom please not now.” You thought to yourself. 

You took a deep breath and made your way towards the curly haired boy, ignoring your mom’s comment. “That belongs in my room, here I’ll show you,” You said as you led him upstairs and into a room towards the left of the stairs. “Just put it there, thanks.”

“No problem, I’m Billy by the way and I take it that your name is Y/N.” Billy said as he gently placed the box on the carpeted floor of your room. 

“Yup, that’s my name,” You stood there and gave him a small awkward smile, “Sorry for staring at you by the way. I do that a lot when I space out.” You said, giving Billy a bullshit excuse, hoping he’d believe it. 

“Right, like you weren’t captivated by my beauty.” He teased giving you a sly smile to which you rolled your eyes at. 

“Captivated? More like repulsed. Did you not see me scramble away?”

“Whatever you say Y/N, give it a month and you’ll fall in love with me.” Billy smirked at you jokingly, making you roll your eyes once more. You acted annoyed but those words were now imprinted onto your brain. Would it be really that easy to fall in love with him?

“With that attitude? Never. Anyway, there’s more boxes downstairs, less talking more helping.” You dismissed the topic at hand and herded him outside. Give it a month and you’ll fall in love with me. That sentence echoed in your head for the rest of the day.

That was how you met Billy Hargrove, the charming boy next door that you became fast friends with and the same charming boy who stole your heart, even though you refused to admit it. That same week that you moved in, he brought you to every place in Hawkins he knew. He took you to the record shop, to the nearby lake, to the hilltop that overlooked the town, to every little place he found beautiful. School was out until January so you two were able to hang out everyday and explore Hawkins. Hanging out everyday of course included endless conversations. You two talked about every little thing but you noticed that he never talked about his family or his family life. Billy avoided the topic of family like a plague. Whenever you would ask about his mom, his sister, or his dad he’d quickly change the topic, and you never once pressed him for an answer, until one night. 

It was around 9 p.m you heard screaming coming from the Hargrove residence. You couldn’t make out the words, but it was two voices. One was the ever so familiar voice of Billy Hargrove and the other was what you guessed was his dad. You bite your nails nervously, hoping that Billy was okay. You glued yourself close to your kitchen window trying to piece together what was happening next door.

“Worthless piece of shit!” Billy’s dad screamed loud and clear, it was the first coherent phrase you heard after listening in for about 20 minutes. The scream is then followed by what it sounded like a slap and then after that a few grunts of pain and more incoherent screaming followed by total silence. By then you were worried, maybe this is why Billy never mentioned his family. 

You rushed out to your front porch hoping you see your friend outside. As soon as you opened your front door, Billy was there as if he summoned by command. He staggered outside his house while rubbing his jaw, wincing through the pain. His lip was busted and a bruise was forming under his eye. As soon as he saw you standing by your front porch, he began to walk towards you. You were the only person he could think of to go to for comfort.

“Billy what happened? Are you okay?” You rushed towards him, engulfing him with a big hug. He leaned into your touch, finding peace and security in your embrace.

“Hey since you’re here can you help me clean this shit off?” He pointed at his bloody face, “I can’t have my face looking like this. It’s my best feature.” He gave you a small smile, wincing afterwards. Despite him being clearly hurt he still managed to smile at the sight of you and crack a joke. You didn’t smile however, instead you carefully caressed his soft face, trying not to break down at the sight of him. He didn’t deserve any of this. Not even an ounce.

You assisted him inside your house, you were glad your parents weren’t home because they’d definitely be asking one hundred and one questions right about now. You helped him walk to your dining room and there he sat on one of your dining chairs. You hurried to the bathroom for the first aid kit and a damp washcloth. You sat in front of him and softly rubbed away the dried blood by his mouth. You stared at his eyes and saw how tired and worn out he was, you figured this wasn’t the first time this has happened.

“Stop looking at me like that.” Billy said icily, snatching the washcloth away from you and doing the job himself.

“Like what? Give me that.” You retorted and snatched the cloth back, returning to what you were doing.

“Like you pity me, I don’t need pity.” 

“Billy that’s not what this is, I care about you. I’m just… I’m just worried. I’m worried about you. Does he do this to you a lot?” You asked him, you glanced at his blue eyes briefly before opening the first aid kit to retrieve some alcohol wipes. Billy blinked at you as if he couldn’t believe that you actually care, but eventually he speaks up. 

“He.. he does this… every other day, but I thought I could go a whole week without being his personal punching bag, guess I was wrong though. Turns out he doesn’t give a shit about how the new neighbors would think of him.” Billy answers, wincing as you gently cleaned up his wounded lip with an alcohol wipe. 

“Can I ask why he did it? You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to of course.” You said as you finished cleaning up his face, it looked better than it was before, but of course the bruises remained. 

“No it’s fine, he got pissed because I forgot to pick up Max, my sister, at the arcade. She was supposed to be home an hour ago but I was with friends so I forgot.” 

“Why didn’t he just do it himself? He has a damn car doesn’t he? Did he forget that he is in fact a father?”

Billy chuckled at your response, the corners of his eyes crinkling. Despite the bruises and wounds, he still managed to look like an angel.

“Neil’s a lazy piece of shit, all he does is go to work for a few hours and come back home to either drink, sleep, or beat the shit out of me. He doesn’t give two shits about Max and I.” Billy took a deep breath and looked down, his eyes not meeting yours. He looked so vulnerable and so broken, all you wanted to do was hold him forever. “So because of that,” Billy continued, “I’m in charge of taking care of Max. It’s me and Susan actually, but mostly me. Apparently I’m the fucking father and mother now.” 

You tucked a loose curl behind Billy’s ear, trying to comfort him. You didn’t know what to say, what would you even say to someone who’s pouring their heart out to you? So all you did was listen. You sat there in silence listening urging him to continue, letting you know that you’re here for him.

“It’s just complete fucking bullshit, I hate living there. I want to get away from here some day, but right now I’m stuck in this shit hole town and I’ll just have to deal with it.” Billy finished with an angry huff. He lifted his head up and looked at you, you saw that there were tears forming in his eyes that were threatening to fall. Billy tried blinking them away but failed.

“Next time he does this to you, come over right away and don’t hesitate. I don’t care how late or how early it is, I want you to come here, so you can be safe.” You said softly so only he can hear.

The tears that Billy tried to blink away finally fell from his eyes and he sobbed. You could tell that all the pent up anger and sadness took over him. He reached for you and held you tight as if any second now you’d slip away. You held him tightly in return, reassuring him that you’re here. A few tears fell from your eyes but you wiped them away quickly, trying to be strong for Billy. 

“Hey it’s okay, it’s alright. I’m here okay? I’m here for you, always. All the time.” 

“Thank you Y/N,” Billy’s voice was muffled, his head was on the crook of your neck, “I’ve never told anyone this and now you’re here to listen to me and I just… thank you. Thank you for being here.” 

That was the first time you’ve ever felt something towards Billy other than friendship. It was new and scary since this is your best and only friend and feeling this way might ruin everything, but despite that you’ve decided to suppress the feeling and stayed close friends with him. Never uttering a word about how you felt towards him and labeling your relationship as strictly platonic. What you didn’t know, however, was that Billy felt the same way too, ever since the day you moved in next door.

today was odd for me. i woke up at the stabdaed "don't wake me up" 7:something am and then 11, and then, deciding i was still too tired to get up, went back to sleep. i woke up at about 12:30 when my mom called for my help and i reluctantly got up. she said it was outside and i didn't want to do outside, but i try to be a good daughter so i got up and went outside.

the other day when i was asked to do outside stuff, it was moving a few bundles of weekday and branches to the back corner, but today it was cleaning out the garden by the barn. it was a beautiful day out, but just a little too hot to make working in the sun comfortable. for me, if it's not comfortable, it's unbearably hot. as a walking furnace, i reserve the right to be way too hot at any given point, unless it's 2am and the window is open and cold air is pouring in from the outside because it's suddenly less than 50 degrees.

anyway. i hacked and chopped and raked the garden by the barn with my mom until about 4:30. it was satisfying, getting it all done and cleaned out, but if it were up to me to design the gardens when we first moved into the house, i never would made the gardens like that. but i was only 4 when we moved in, so i had no input. i was just happy about the rock in the back yard. (it's actually part of the hilltop that we live on; it's an outcropping and part of the whole thing is pushing our driveway to shit and another part is in a neighbor's yard three lots over. it's huge. we can't get rid of the bumps in ohr driveway because it's all connected and it would literally destroy the entire hilltop.) (new hampshire is weird. hills are weird.)

but yeah. four or something hours to clear out a garden and chop back the bushes with only a hand pruner and one lady with broken limbs proved to be interesting, to say the least. but it was satisfying work. every time i go outside to do something, i'm always reluctant, but after doing it for a little bit i get invested and like to see it through. (if anyone is looking for an escape, i wholeheartedly recommend gardening. it's a little too late to start a vegetable garden, but flowers are always in season. it gets your mind off of the insanity of the world and onto the world at your fingertips, the beauty of nature, and the complete satisfaction of destroying the weeds that have been choking out your beloved black iris.) but i chopped down the bushes by hand and we pulled weeds and raked out leaves - a herculean effort because the last time we worked on the garden was before chelsea and james for married FIVE years ago - but in the end it was worth it because the tree at the end is free, the bushes will be able to focus on growing instead of all of the leaves it needed to make to cover itself, and my mom can now see her irises that were given to her more than thirty years ago and that have moved with her and us from home to apartment to home. it was nice to do something outside. i saw a robin land by the house and i saw a blue jay in the woods! my mom also managed to anger a wasp but then absolutely DESTROY it with her shoe once she got it on the ground. (james is afraid of bees so she put on her big boy pants and took care of it. i didn't even see it until it was pointed out to me, and then i blinked and my mom smacked it with an old broom head, knocking it to the ground and crushing it underfoot. i get my reckless bravery from her, i guess.)

anyway, i wound up plastering myself to the floor under the ceiling fan with the air conditioner on once we got back inside, and after i had sufficiently cooled off my mom and i talked to the relief society president in her ward. i have been unceremoniously included, despite my internal wishes to not be, but i can't say no. emily is a nice lady and i was feeling magnanimous today, so i didn't pitch a fit and it was actually rather pleasant. having stepped away from the church for a while has allowed me the freedom to make my own choices that aren't dictated by what other people want me to do. i like that. but my inability to say no to people really bites me in the ass when i get to a place where i feel obligated to help, like with church. like, of course i'm gonna help someone. if i'm asked, of course i will go out of my way to do something for you. i will do so happily, even. sometimes. but usually only if i was going to do something anyway, which i usually am. but if i really don't wanna do it, and it's not something i like to do, i probably won't. that's my problem with callings at church - i can't say no to it in the first place, and then i wind up being the go-to person for family history or music and i don't want to be that person. i'm over my family history phase and i'm over the phase of wanting to be a music teacher. i've been over it for like three years now. family history for much longer. just don't ask me to do that. i'm more than happy to shop for someone or to bring them a plate of cookies or bring them needed things, or drive places, but please got the love of the almighty god do not ask me to tell you how to do family history. don't ask me to pick music for something, don't ask me to teach people, and definitely don't ask me to teach music to people. i get really frustrated at people because they don't think the same way as i do and don't think nearly as quickly as i do, and i don't understand how other people function because my brain is on a complete tangent to how other people function, so working with other people is a big no. i will gladly do stuff if it means i get to be by myself, or if i'm doing something for someone who needs something. i'm beginning to accept that i'm really just a very selfish person, only wanting to do things for others if it's something i'm okay with doing, and if it allows me time for myself and/or enables me to be safe. my first instinct is to help someone who's pulled over on the side of the road, day or night. but i can't, because i'm afraid for my safety. my first instinct is to help someone grab something if they're too short to grab it, but they usually have it covered. i also don't want to be overbearing, but at the same time i'm an absolute mess to be around so combining that with second-guessing what my first instinct is to do, i wind up not doing a lot of things for fear of overbearing, annoying, or irritating others, or of getting myself hurt and/or killed in the process. like as much as i wish for death, i don't like pain. this is just a lot of rambling and i have no idea where this is even going but if you've read this far thank you for reading, and please help me figure out my head.

anyway, after the zoom call with emily we had dinner and i took a shower, finally washing off the dirt and grime from today's outdoor adventures. i sat and did nothing for a while, but eventually i did my prob and stats homework for the week.

and then i consumed my weight in miraculous ladybug fan content. i have a problem. it's fine.

now my tummy is grumbling again. rad. can it leave me alone for a hot minute?

also today was one of those days where i didn't hear from joel. i'm sure he was hanging out with his friends online and just chillin out. he's relaxed. i was gonna ask about his interview from the last week to see if he heard anything back from them, but it slipped my mind in time to text him so i am now here at 3 in the morning wishing i texted him because hearing from him always brightens my day. he makes me happy. the ridiculous goober.

 Racism. It's pretty popular topic of discussion when promoting kindness. Mainly because it still runs rampant throughout our . . . world, and it shouldn't.  

So, no matter which side you stand on you at least can understand when you see and hear things relating to the topic, whether you're a racist, an anti-racist, or one of those people that think it's not really a problem, and it doesn't matter if you're outspoken or if you keep your opinion hidden. You just get it, the conversation that is trying to get to the "why" aren't we just getting along.

Anyway, as prominent as that topic still is, and probably will be for a while, I noticed another one even more "popular" around my communities, and social media, especially social media.

Our current political climate is to try and shame the other side for what they think and believe or for what they don't. Resulting in hard lines in the sand. Opposition to other people instead of standing together in solidarity against the “them” that’s not us, in the political landscape.

Lack of knowledge doesn't make someone our enemy. Just like thinking someone is more educated doesn't make them an enemy.

I still believe that education is the way through though, mixed with compassion and a little empathy. That goes a long way.

You don't have to stop believing how and what you do to stop belittling how and what others do. It doesn't matter if you are the one believing in a conspiracy or if they are . . .or if neither of you even know the truth, which is far more unlikely.

Do you think they have you in mind more than you have them in mind? Are you on the offensive or on the defensive when you ridicule them?

Do we even realize that we are choosing political puppets, and institutions over our own neighbors?

I've never, in my short amount of time here on earth, seen our country so divided with actual hate for one another over politics as I see today. A political division the worsened by miles less than a decade ago. Doesn't seem to be letting up any time soon either. This whole pandemic just made it worse. Still seems weird to me that the politics in our country that had us divided got worse through a worldwide pandemic instead of bringing us closer together.

People against the vaccine just don't care what others feel, like at all and are opposed to our government’s ways etc, etc.

People who believe the government and its sciences are worried the opposition is making things last longer by not "conforming" for lack of a better word that's used in general conversation by those opposed.

Truth is none of us out here, like those of us out in the real world really know anything. We all just have to do the best we can for us, and our own families and friends based on what we know and what we feel.

We'd probably all be better off if we tuned in to all sides of the news and social media even if it goes against our biases. We might be surprised what the other side is learning. But the main reason we should do this, is because it turns our opposition into actual real-life people, dealing with real life issues in today's current static. They are our actual neighbors, co-workers, and even some family.

Look past our collectively, uneducated near truths and conspiracies, and have conversations with each other for the whys and how's that makes them believe like they do. Be open . . . It’s not to "buy in" to what they're "selling" but to have a better understanding of people who are probably really good people who will remain in your every days, long after those in power relinquish to the next set of puppets.

Go out of your way to show you care and see how far it takes you in your life. I triple dog dare ya. Lol

I have friends on all sides. Some are out there pretty far for what they believe. But they're still my friends. Talks that don't begin with hate, can always end with love. I've seen it and lived it more times than I can count.

We have to learn how to find middle ground. Even if it’s some slightly tilted united front or we will never win. Never. We only win together.

If you're one of the unfortunate people who finds your identity in bashing those on the other side of things, good luck with your succeses. That's an awful lot of crap in your heart to live up to. I feel bad for the whole lot.

There is an easier way.

Practice.

Patience.

Understanding, the how's and whys is more important than their actual way. Believe that.

What a surprise though right? That shaming and making fun of others isn't bringing us together as a people. Just weird.

How about if we made life more about us instead of them?

Ask yourself who the real enemy is? What's the best way to defeat them? Is it by, attacking (in any form or on any platform) your actual neighbors who we all know aren't responsible?

So, yes Tikkun Olam. Tikkun Olam is a Jewish concept defined by acts of kindness performed to perfect or repair the world. That is such a beautiful way to look at sharing responsibility for the world we all share. Who knew others look at the world for its beauty too??

I suppose I'll close with the same thing except. . .

Showing kindnesses and being understanding is the real way out of the hate and out of the ignorances shared by any of us. Share your love and laughter with the world outside your world.
